The Cat Returns Fic Recs
This list will include all ratings and tags, so read at your own discretion! :)
Cafe du Chat by lacewood - Rated G
Haru, after the movie: of magic, cats, cake and tea
The Baron Returns by Poeticallymanic - Rated M
Haru believed her experience in the Cat Kingdom was all a dream until a stranger from Germany shows up and takes her on a new adventure.
The Bureau Files: Series 1 by Catsafari - Rated T
Ten years later, Haru finds herself dragged back into the world of Creations, catastrophes, and one dapper-looking cat.
Bridenapped by Catsafari - Rated G
Haru has been kidnapped - again - by an overzealous prince looking for a bride, and she's not amused. Especially when Baron's up to his usual dramatics and she's already running late for a childminding appointment. Oneshot, originally posted to Tumblr 17.04.20
Return to Me by CymraegDragon - Rated G
When Baron had told Haru that the Bureau doors would always be open to her he hadn't meant only if she was in trouble. Three years have passed before the distraught brunette burst back into their lives.
Carpe Diem by thedrunkenwerewolf - Rated G
After coming home from a case that required him to become temporarily human, Baron decides to make the last few hours as a human count. Haru/Baron. Based on Catsafari's fic The Bureau Files "Red" episode.
Inclement Weather by onekisstotakewithme - Rated G
It was just an average day, until it started snowing in July. And Haru knows there's magic involved, so she heads to the Bureau for answers. Hinted-at Baron x Haru, and just some good old fun for my first foray into TCR in a year.
Deeply Ingrained by CymraegDragon - Rated T
Years have passed since the Cat Kingdom incident. Haru has returned to her mundane life but unknown to her the Bureau never left her. She is blissfully unaware until one of them makes a mistake. Haru finds herself thrown back into the world of magic whilst maintaining her human life. Everyone is ecstatic to have her back though Baron is alarmed to be suddenly developing all sorts of emotions and feelings. Everything seems to be going well but Haru holds a deadly family secret which will result in heartache for all.
Walk Any Which Way by grr_0wl - Rated G
Haru enlists the aid of the Baron to apply to college. Fluff and life lessons ensue.

"I just find it interesting that everyone who is always concerned by Tom doing other roles never seem to watch all the other projects he’s done before and since he’s been Spider-Man."
How would this anon know this? I've seen everything he's done except Chaos Walking. Am I allowed to comment now? He's the one hemming and hawing over his career in interviews, tearing up over TCR reviews, turning down good parts, and disavowing a whole movie. Did it seem like he was content before he took his break?
Look. He's a grown man with a team to help him manage his career. We obviously have no say in anything. But he has repeatedly chosen to be in not just in the spotlight but be front and center in controversial projects. If we were speculating and chatting positively (and we do when it's The Impossible, The Lost City of Z, his good work in bad projects, or the possibility of him doing XYZ) it's no problem. But if we say anything outside of that it's "just wait and see". Perhaps someone should write rules on what we're allowed to talk about since it's not clear.
"If people *jokingly* being greedy about Tomdaya content bothers anon, they are really on the wrong part of tumblr."
Jokingly is generous. Tomdaya is a hyperfixation for some people. If you scroll through some of these pages, it's first thing in the morning through midnight. And that's fine. But at this point, that part of social media is the only place to keep track of Tom's stuff. Everywhere else is AI images or people angry about him. If someone has a tumblr rec for Tom fans who aren't nasty toward Z and don't post fake AI images of him *and* have actual info on his career, please share with the class.
How would this anon know this?
Anon and I know this because fans make comments such as: "I just want Tom to work with good directors......and do interesting projects.....", when he already has.... 🥴 PLENTY of times!
I've seen everything he's done except Chaos Walking. Am I allowed to comment now?
Good for you! That's more than most fans.
He's the one hemming and hawing over his career in interviews, tearing up over TCR reviews, turning down good parts, and disavowing a whole movie.
What are you considering hemming and hawing over his career in interviews?? 🥴
And what's wrong with him being appreciative of the positive feedback that he received for TCR? Tom has already said that this series was a very difficult one to make, and it also took a toll on him emotionally. If people are appreciating the series, especially ones who have been victims of abuse (especially the kind that is depicted in this piece of work), then I don't see the problem? 🤷🏾♀️
And what "good parts" did Tom turn down that were NOT turned down due to his previous other filming obligations? NAME ONE! 🤨
You all are just complaining about a bunch of nothing at this point. 🙄
I think some of you all need to admit that you have allowed Film Twitter to get into your heads and dictate what you think and feel about Tom and his films/career.
But he has repeatedly chosen to be in not just in the spotlight but be front and center in controversial projects.
What's wrong with being in "controversial projects"? Don't you think "Saltburn" is controversial? Don't you think "The Whale", "Call Me By Your Name", and "Everything, Everywhere, All At Once" were controversial? Like, what's the problem? 🥴 If an actor wants to take on a challenging role that's not your usual "cookie-cutter" SAFE role by a filmmaker who loves to take risks, what's wrong with that exactly?
Jokingly is generous. Tomdaya is a hyperfixation for some people. If you scroll through some of these pages, it's first thing in the morning through midnight. And that's fine. But at this point, that part of social media is the only place to keep track of Tom's stuff. Everywhere else is AI images or people angry about him.
I think this is the only part that I can fully agree with. I've already expressed on my blog before that it's kind of sad that it seems like there are very FEW (if any) blogs that are just strictly dedicated to TOM ALONE, and not ones that are mainly about his relationship, or just MCU/Marvel/Spider-Man. 🥴
I've picked up on that too Anon, so you're not the only one. I see tons of Zendaya (only) blogs, and blogs of other actors that are JUST about that actor, and NOT about shipping him with his gf, etc. Thankfully, I love Tom and Zendaya together, and I like their relationship🥰, so I don't mind seeing their love, following Tomdaya blogs, or seeing posts about them. I love it! 😁 At the same time however, I've already mentioned to you all that I don't usually "Ship" celebrity couples. Tomdaya has always been an exception to me. Usually, I'll just think a celebrity couple is "cute" or whatever, and I'll just go about my day lol. 😅 That's typically been the extent of my "shipping" lol. Tomdaya is SPECIAL in that they are the first (AND more than likely the LAST) celebrity couple that I will ever "ship" like that lol.
At this current time, I personally feel like Tomdaya is good and solid in their relationship that they've been in w/each other for years now, and we've discussed so many past aspects of their relationship/their breakup/their reunion, etc. over and over again over the past 3 years, so continuing to focus sooo much attention on their relationship is getting to be a bit redundant atp.
I think that until a wedding or engagement announcement officially comes out lol, I feel like I would love to focus a little more on their work, their future projects, and anything new/exciting that is coming out for them! 🥰 Stuff like that excites me too! I like Tom and Zendaya as actors, NOT just because they're in a relationship w/each other.
If someone has a tumblr rec for Tom fans who aren't nasty toward Z and don't post fake AI images of him *and* have actual info on his career, please share with the class.
Me sitting right here with a blog...... 🥴😔

7. Chasing Cosby
For nearly half a century, Bill Cosby brought warmth and laughter into hearts across the country, cementing his image as “America’s Dad.” But he also led a dark, secret life preying on women. The comedian carefully coaxed each one into feeling safe and cared for, then left them to pick up the pieces of their lives. It all started with Andrea Constand. She carried the burden of being the only one of the 60-plus accusers whose case could be tried in a court of law. Now, she's telling her side of the story, along with firsthand accounts from more than a dozen survivors, jurors and prosecutors. From the Los Angeles Times, and hosted by investigative reporter Nicki Weisensee Egan, "Chasing Cosby" is the definitive take of the rise and fall of Bill Cosby. New episodes released every Tuesday.
8. The Catch and Kill
For the past two years, Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Ronan Farrow has been following a trail of clues from his investigation of Harvey Weinstein to other blockbuster stories about the systems that protect powerful men accused of terrible crimes in Hollywood, Washington, and beyond. But he didn’t bring that information to light on his own. A compelling cast of sources—from brave whistleblowers to shadowy undercover operatives—decided the fate of these investigations, sometimes risking everything in the process. The Catch and Kill Podcast brings you their stories, in their own words, for the first time.
9. Sick
What happens after a doctor uses his own sperm to impregnate his patients?
Sick is an investigative podcast about what goes wrong in the places meant to keep us healthy. Award-winning journalists Jake Harper and Lauren Bavis dig deep to share shocking personal stories of medical injustices, and hold accountable the people and institutions meant to care for us.
Sick's first season explores the complications of fertility medicine, one Indiana doctor’s abuse of power, and the generations of lives he affected.
10. Room 20
The sign above his hospital bed called him Sixty-Six Garage. For more than 15 years, he would lay there unidentified and unconscious. Or so, everyone believed. From L.A. Times Studios and the team that brought you “Dirty John” and “Man in the Window,” comes “Room 20,” a story about the search for a man’s identity and the truth about his accident. Investigative reporter Joanne Faryon’s two-year journey is filled with twists and turns. Now, she'll finally reveal who Garage really is. But one important question remained for her upon this discovery: has Garage been conscious this entire time? This series was produced by L.A. Times Studios with support from Neon Hum Media.
11. Bardstown
Welcome signs proclaim it “America’s Most Beautiful Small Town.” It’s considered the Bourbon Capital of the World. And in many ways, Bardstown, Kentucky is just like a lot of small, tight-knit communities all across the country. But just under the surface, there’s something darker. Not everyone wants to talk about it. And a lot of people would rather forget. That’s because since 2013, Bardstown has also been the site of five unsolved murders. Now, the team behind “Bomber,” “True Crime Chronicles,” and “88 Days” is digging into these cases to find out what’s really happening in Bardstown, and whether these murders could be related. And along the way uncovering a history of violence and fear in this otherwise quintessential southern town. Bardstown launches August 28.
12. Down The Hill
Abby and Libby - 2 young girls murdered. Investigators are searching for the killer using their biggest clue: a recording of his voice from one of the victims' phones ordering the girls Down the Hill. Almost three years later, it's a mystery that still haunts the small town of Delphi, Indiana while police say the killer may walk among them.
13. Root of Evil
When Elizabeth Short, also known as The Black Dahlia, was brutally killed in 1947, it gripped the entire country. More than 70 years later, it remains America's most infamous unsolved murder. Many believe Dr. George Hodel was the killer, thanks to an investigation by Hodel's own son. But murder is just part of the Hodel family story, one filled with horrifying secrets that ripple across generations. Now, through never-before-heard archival audio and first-time interviews, the Hodel family opens up to reveal their shocking story. In this eight-part documentary series, sisters Rasha Pecoraro and Yvette Gentile, the great grand daughters of George Hodel, take a deep dive into their family history to try to figure out what really happened, and where do they all go from here? Root of Evil is the companion podcast to TNTs limited series I Am the Night. Inspired by the true story of the Hodel family, the series stars Chris Pine and comes from acclaimed Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins.
14. The Clearing
When April Balascio was 40 years old, something she’d feared for decades was finally proven true. Her father, Edward Wayne Edwards, really was a murderer. The Clearing is about what came after April called a detective in 2009 to tell him about her suspicions — a call that led to her father’s arrest and eventual conviction on multiple murders — and tracks the emotional journey as she and host Josh Dean dig back into her childhood, unravel the truth of her father’s life, and overturn a viral online narrative that had turned Edward Wayne Edwards into a kind of serial killer caricature.
15. Culpable
Culpable explores unsettled cases where the people who seem deserving of blame have somehow eluded justice. On February 26, 2014, Christian Andreacchio was found dead in the upstairs bathroom of his apartment from a single gunshot wound to the head. After a mere 45-minute investigation, local police ruled his death a suicide, despite substantial evidence that points to Christian’s death not only being a homicide, but premeditated murder. Host Dennis Cooper investigates and shares a compelling story about this suspicious death, the questions surrounding it, and a grieving family’s ongoing fight for justice.

If y’all haven’t checked out Amanda Seyfried in The Drop Out and Emmy Rossum in Angelyne, highly recommend. Both ladies do amazing work and transform into these characters which leaves me really excited about them working with Tom. Also, they’re both fun interviews so looking forward to the press tour with these three.
I have been a fan of Amanda since Big Love! The main reason that I am not super 😬😬😬 about TCR despite all the landmines is because I have confidence in her choice of roles.
Thanks for the recs!

I miss The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report, I miss that time.
I've re-watched those shows up until when t.rump got elected, and then something inside me snapped, everything got horrible and I could not watch those shows because it was from the time before the nightmare. It felt like torture watching normal times. I also haven't re-watched Parks and Rec since then for the same reason.
And then my external hard-drive with early seasons of TDS and TCR broke, like I had all the episodes up until 2014 and it was a bitch to download all of them.
I've moved on since then, moved on from those fandoms, but it was such a huge part of me between 2010 - 2015, I have all the books!
I've also shipped the fuck out of Jon/Stephen. No apologies, no shame. I've read all the fic, I actually still have fave fics saved from livejournal on another hard drive.
Ehhh, those were the days. They did me good. I feel like Jon and Stephen have inoculated me against the incoming insanity, because what I've learned from them I still have it, it all stuck.

7-Year Goals
We all have a white picket fence dream for our future. We all want to be comfortable, healthy, and happy - surrounded by friends, things we like, and people we love. Most people don’t want to be filthy rich, but they want something that’s better than what they have now. They want to be in a position to give a better life to their kids than they had. And none of this comes cheap. Amateurs to “real life” (e.g. teenagers) love to say things like, “money isn’t important in life”. But guess what, everything costs money. You want to spend more time with your kids? Money. If you don’t have money, you’d be working double-shifts and your kids will be asleep by the time you get home. You want friends? Money. Social life costs money and leisure time costs money too. You want the best for your old parents? Money. Hospital bills aren’t gonna pay themselves, and trust me, nothing kills a person more to see their (dependent) loved ones refuse vital medical treatment because the person can’t afford it. I see this daily and it really tears me up inside. The doctor will say a surgery is necessary. The “man of the house” will then ask, “it sounds expensive. How much are we talking about, doc?” The doctor would reply and then, a long, stressful silence will descend upon the room. Usually this silence will be broken by the patient - usually a feeble old grandmother. She will say, “No, it’s ok. It’s too expensive. The pain is not so bad. I think I will just rest at home.” A scream will emanate from within me: “OH MY GOD NO! YOU NEED THIS SIMPLE $200 TREATMENT OR ELSE YOU WILL DIE A PAINFUL DEATH!” But, it’s not my place or my responsibility. So, I just watch in silence and swear to myself that I will work very hard to make sure my family never has forego a life-saving treatment because of shortage of money.
This is why I decided to study medicine. And that’s the fire within that’ll fuel my motivation and get me through this.
So, as you can imagine, my main goal is to have enough that I can give a comfortable life to those I love. I have parents who worked hard their whole lives and didn’t save much for themselves, always choosing instead to invest in their kids. I’m the oldest of four brothers. Although I’m sure they’ll be independent (and one is already independent with a wife and kid), I want to always be there for them and their kids. I want to be the uncle who takes them on summer holidays to Europe and safaris in Africa for Christmas. Okay, this is getting to be a huge skyscraper of text rather than a nice list I had in mind. So let’s switch to list mode now with more specific goals...
- Buy my parents a new house, boat, trailer, and an SUV to pull all of that (except the house of course). - Send my parents on a 3-month world cruise. - Take all my nephews and nieces on yearly week-long vacations. This is as much a gift for my nephews and nieces as their parents. - Put my (eventual) kids through private schooling along with whatever extracurricular classes they want including international exchange. And basically, make sure that finances are never a factor in picking where they study. - Take 2 months off per year to either start a new business, do some charity work, write a book, invent something, study something new, get a unique part-time job, or just travel to a new place in a new way. - Take my eventual wife on several surprise week-long vacations per year. - Own a large piece of land where I can build an open-air aviary, do gardening with unique plants and trees, and have lots of lemurs (one of my favorite animals) just hanging out, and horses running wild (my favorite animal). - Own my own two-seater gyrocopter. - I don’t care to own luxury or sports cars. I like cars but I think they’re a huge waste of money (i.e. the amount of time spent per 24 hours in a car vs. amount paid to buy and maintain it). But I’d like to own an autonomous car, so I’d probably want a Tesla. Will we even own cars in the near future? I don’t think so (just see my previous blog post about my predictions for the future). We’ll just use autonomous Ubers. Okay fine, I won’t own a car then. Good. Saves me money for a better gyrocopter. - Oh and I want an awesome rec room complete with computers, game consoles, and arcade machines from my childhood (I was born in the mid 80s so as a kid in the 90s, I’d go to arcades which had old coin-op game machines from the 80s). I also want the large swathes of time required to play these games. The rec room must also have an elaborate train set and a massive TCR track. I feel like a kid in a candy store just thinking about all this. I’m not done yet though. I also want a large aquarium with sharks and a radio controlled submarine. I really feel like I’m sitting on Santa’s lap here. I also want a model of the entire city of Springfield (from the Simpsons) and a full scale replica of Darth Vader ominously standing there watching over everything. I also want an antique TV that only plays old shows I grew up watching: The Addams Family (1960s series), Batman (also 1960s series), Lost in Space (yep, also 60s), and cartoons such as the Flintstones, Jetsons, Popeye, Loony Toons, and anything off the old Cartoon Network. I want posters of every Wes Anderson movie on the walls and both a foosball and air hockey table, and also a Space Cadet themed pinball machine. Great, now you know how big of a nerd I am. - Moving on... - I’m too excited about my rec room and am utterly unable to think of anything else. - End of list.
As you can see, my goals aren’t to amass a fortune. Most of them are to take care of people I love and to get the most out of life. Unfortunately, everything in this life costs money. And unfortunately like most people in the world, I wasn’t born heir to a huge fortune. So, I have to start with a good job. Ok, gonna go study a bit now that I have sufficiently motivated myself. :-D

RUSSIAN ENDURANCE CHALLENGE 2019
Moscow Raceway
Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport (команда "Три богатыря", стартовый номер 4),
Chevrolet Corvette C6 (команда Genesis GNP Team, стартовый номер 63), Seat Leon TCR (команда VRC-Team, стартовый номер 16),
Michelin.
Porsche GT № 4.
Vintic&Shpuntic.

Second Blackbird and Five Days at Memorial. Warning that they are really intense and Five Days at Memorial might be triggering if you remember the trauma that was Hurricane Katrina. Also, will say Blackbird gives me a sense of what they’ll do with TCR. Also, really recommend Bad Sisters, it’s like the Irish version of Big Littlw Lies. And Loot with Maya Rudolph, finally happy she’s in her leading lady era. Also, I think Surface too with Gugu Mbwatha Raw who I can’t wait till Z works with someday
What kind of time to you all think I have??? This blog itself takes like 40hrs/week.
