feeling insane in this chili's tonight about curt biddick and how in a show expressly depicting the horrors of an endless nameless meat grinder approach to war he's one name and face in a huge ensemble of characters that fucking ripples when he's gone. the gap persists. he's always gonna owe buck one. bucky doesn't have anyone to make him feel anything. they both pull back to cover him falling behind. you can feel the space where he's kind of meant to be in every episode but he's not there. they don't really talk about him. i mean okay cool like your narrative choices but how am i meant to be normal about it.
#i'm going to put some actually fucking thought and effort into the meta of this show at some point but#yeah. curt. i need to go back and watch all his episodes because BOY does that little bastard compel me#from a character and storytelling standpoint he's just. tasty.#masters of the air

Rylan: Yes, then I can listen better to books!
It took a couple of hours more before they were again outside the hospital standing there with Vy. Rylan had his brand new hearing aids which he was quite proud of, and they had gotten information on starting courses for learning sign language and also learning how to read on lips.
Flynn: I don’t know about you guys, but I think we all deserve some baked goods and something nice to drink. Rylan and Tyvan: YES! Emil: I agree. -they smile softly at their little ones, so proud of them for taking all of this in their stride.- Liam: Uncle Em!
Emil turned around seeing Liam come running towards them, then saw the old mage and Lucas coming walking a little behind him.
Flynn: Dad, what are you doing here? River: Well, we thought we’d ask how it went, but a certain little one here might have overheard the last comment and also wants baked goods and tasty treats. -he chuckled.- Emil: Of course, and we can tell the news when we are there. Lucas: Sounds like a plan to me.

i wrote nearly a thousand words about why i didn't like barbie. but i cba to finish it. just know that it isn't a bad movie but it has numerous big issues that kind of pissed me off (especially regarding the disabled character) if you liked it, you liked it. i'm not gonna come on here and try to change anyone's mind. i could see what they were trying to do (and i did enjoy some of it ngl), but i feel like they just really missed the mark on a lot of the themes and sociopolitical conversation(s) they were trying to engage in. there was a lot of potential, but the execution wasn't my cup of tea
the memes are better than the movie unfortunately
#on the walk home i was ranting and raving about it lol i kinda wish i had recorded my thoughts 'cause i made so many good points#it's not the film i thought it was going to be and maybe i'm too british to reallllly get it#its idea of inclusivity is weak and the tone of the movie was off. i was boooored from about halfway through to the end#great concept. great sets. good costumes. good plot outline. but i think the storytelling didn't give the plot the substance it required#it had interesting subtext and some tasty themes but did they do anything with them?????????? no. the potential was right there 😩😩😩 smh#i've deleted so many tags lol#anyway yh. go watch it so you can get your own opinion or don't.. do whatever idc lol#chatty lamps

Frieren did some simple symbology stuff by telling two story arcs with similar themes in the 1st and 2nd half and its really stuck with me since I watched cause it's just sooooo. Good.
#girlbob.txt#the dangers of becoming too specialized combined with underestimating your opponent#because you simply believe they would present themself as the strongest version of themself#because you are surrounded by people who thrive off pride and status#ough its so tasty i hope we never explore fern and stark's relationship ever again and just get good storytelling instead

"What A Beautiful Family!"
In which you get confused for being a family
Rengoku:
- It happens during a trip to the store in town with his little brother. Maybe it was to restock groceries or maybe it was buying supplies for his next demon conquest, either way: all three of you went down to visit.
- Rengoku smiled softly at you as he watched you with his little brother, holding his hand and laughing with Senjuro and occasionally lifting him up and spinning around.
- At some point during the walk, Senjuro pointed at some birds flying in the tree and begged Kyojuro for a closer look, which Kyojuro happily allowed him to do and put him on his shoulders with a big smile. You helped Senjuro steady himself and laughed at how precious the two looked.
- As Senjuro and Kyojuro debated about what kind of birds they were, you couldn't help but look at Kyojuro with nothing less than love in your eyes and a fond smile.
- "Aw, how precious!" a woman walking past with a basket filled with baked goods cooed at you three, "I'm glad even with demons terrorizing us, people can still have moments like this. Here, have some!"
- At first you tried to decline out of embarrassment but Kyojuro humbly took them and gave one to Kyojuro and handed a pastry to you. You were hesitant but then you took it and graciously thanked the lady, "but also, I feel bad for not paying for these, ma'am. Please, let me-"
- "Don't you worry about it. A beautiful family like you should enjoy a good snack on such a lovely day, especially since your husband's a hashira."
- Rengoku opened his mouth to let out a hearty "TASTY!" but stopped himself halfway when he heard that. You just stared at the lady in flustered shock as she bowed her head and walked away.
- You and Kyojuro shared a look with each other, Kyojuro giving you a nervous yet wide grin and you returned it. Both of your faces felt warm and you were barely able to hold eye contact with each other.
- "Haha, that lady thought you were (Y/n)'s husband! Isn't that funny, big brother?" and Rengoku's gaze softens as you become timid and look down at your feet, "Yes...I suppose it is, Kyojuro."
Tengen:
- You were walking with Tengen and his wives, happy to see him a bit more after his retirement, when you stumbled upon three neighboring children, who played too roughly and were crying their eyes out about it.
- You and Hinatsuru helped them while Suma tried not to cry with the two boys but offered to help and Makio awkwardly tried to calm them down. Tengen just squatted down and told them that it wasn't very flashy to cry, which made you and Hina elbow him.
- Instead of getting more upset, however, all three boys became excited and seemed to recgonize Tengen, asking him if he was the sound Hashira, which seemed to greatly inflate his ego as he said: "Yes but I am also the God of Festivals!"/ "WOW! REALLY!?"
- You and his wives exchanged glances knowing he wouldn't shut up. When they asked if he could tell him a story of the demons he fought, he tried to be all: "Oh, it might be too scary for you kids...BUT WHAT THE HECK- So I was in the Entertainment District which is filled with prost-"/ "UZUI."/ "IT'S IMPORTANT TO THE STORY."
- Anyways, after some censoring, each boy found a home in your lap, Suma's lap, and another sat on Hinatsuru's but leaned their head on Makio's arm. All of you entranced by Tengen's storytelling and prescence.
- "Haha, such an energetic father. Those boys are definetly gonna grow up strong!"/ "I wonder which of those women are his wife?"/ "From the way they're looking at him, all four, probably."
- Tengen's voice suddenly stopped, most likely because he heard what they said, but instead of correcting him, his eyes landed on you. You could feel Hina's, Suma's, and Makio's gaze on you as well and you felt timid...but not uncomfortable. His lips upturned into a smirk and you felt yourself trying to look at ANYWHERE but the attractive faces that were staring at you.
- "Well, what happened next!?" One of the boys demanded, impatient from the cliff hanger.
- "Huh- Oh, right! Anyways, this demon CAME OUT and he was UGLY. Absolutely hideous, like a monster that crawled from under your bed-"
- When the boys finally were called home, you all waved goodbye and parted ways. Leaving you alone with the retired Hashira and his wives, you didn't say anything but the energy felt different as Suma clung to your arm and Tengen walked closer to you, Makio's eyes would stray towards you but timidly look away when you caught her gaze as Hina wished this walk would last forever. Just the five of you.

ALWAYS rotating TAZ: Balance around in my brain like microwave but ESPECIALLY with the announcement of The Suffering Game graphic novel
The dope thing they can do (and are doing) with the graphic novel series is sprinkle in moments of foreshadowing and hints to the reader about what REALLY might be going on here, which is so cool and I’m a huge fan of it, especially when you’re telling a story in this form.
But what is REALLY FUCKING TASTY about Balance as a story is that none of the motherfuckers telling it had any clue what they were doing when they started
Gerblins is dick jokes and not knowing how dice work and making fun of each other for voices. LICHRALLY the scene where Taako grabs the Umbrastaff is immediately proceeded by Clint trying different voices for Merle while Justin begs him to stop, as Taako. Merle gets launched across the room cuz he failed his save, and now Taako has an umbrella. The scene moves on.
Griffin brought them up to the BOB, introduced them to the Director, and gave them memories of a war fought over nameless, lost, powerful but mysterious artifacts. The memory that Taako takes from it is the idea of soured cream (ya know, for his taco quest).
And then they’re off, on different adventures, making friends, saving lives, making more dick jokes, and Griffin is in the background, slowly building in the meta-plot, as all DMs do.
But this meta-plot was HUGE. It was ALL-CONSUMING. It completely changes everything we know about this world and these characters. It takes the moments of dick jokes, and arguments about character voices, and flirting with death, and adds a layer of tragedy and complexity that just wasn’t present the first time they told that story.
AND THAT’S WHY THIS STORY KICKS ASS. The vibe of the story changed as Tres Horny Boys grew closer and closer to remembering the lives they had lost, as Griffin upped the stakes, as people started dying. They still don’t know shit for most of The Suffering Game, but you absolutely could not have predicted the tone of that arc after just listening to Gerblins. It sounds like a completely different story. And so when the other shoe drops, when shit breaks bad, when it’s the end of the world… again, and they have to reclaim their Stolen Century…
It makes sense. The tone has shifted enough to accommodate that kind of change. The characters have grown (back) into themselves enough to make this work.
Because TAZ: Balance is a tragedy. But the tragedy happened before the podcast even started, and had been erased. So of course it started off with goofs and dildo jokes. Of course the three of them started being standoff-ish with each other and making light of every situation that should have had a lot more weight. They didn’t know what they had lost, and we, the audience, didn’t either. So it was easy to laugh and joke… until slowly, it wasn’t so much anymore.
Plenty of people have praised Griffin’s storytelling abilities, but I think the thing that was most impressive to me was how he took the disparate threads laid out behind the Boys on their adventures, and followed them backwards, into the story they had lost, and forwards, into the ending they earned. I fucking love that he settled on Istus as the deity to interact with them, because I don’t think there’s a better representation of the story Griffin was weaving behind the scenes of the arcs.
Story and Song wasn’t really an arc driven by dice rolls and role playing - but it wasn’t railroading either. Griffin took every story they had told, every happy ending they had fought for, and twined them around and through each other. The world was saved not because of a lucky nat 20 roll, but because every person they had helped through the story came out in force to fight beside them to save their world.
And so in the end, the Stolen Century was a tragedy. But The Adventure Zone: Balance was a story of hope, of family, of the power that just a few loveable doofuses can have when they move through the world, making friends and saving lives. So when the world was ending and they needed help, there were dozens of people waiting to hear the Story and the Song that would give them the push they needed to fight, and the hope they needed to win.

mamma mia here i go again with another chapter from my leander thesis 🤓 please accept my humble input on mc's curse, the importance of reading between leander's flirting lines and rss's wonderful storytelling details.
ngl when i finally chose not to touch leander's hand first (can you blame me, i'm weak for that man) i was bewildered at how strikingly different the options in this scene play out, and i, strange as it seems, like this one much better.
first of all, it's a parallel (even if it's not intended, the connection is still there) to the opening scene with a deranged traveler: the touch, the sensations, the (foreshadowed) strangling:
leander is definitely affected by the curse — possessed even, i would say, as if he was being told to strangle mc. notice how his actions line up with the traveler's, only in slo-mo, because leander was fighting to take back the control. and when mc calls out for him, he either snaps out of it or gets to the exact point when he takes a hold of the curse. this brings up a question: could mc's curse be sentient? alter the minds, you say? (more under the cut because it got long)
i've seen people speculating that mc's curse might bestow the enlightment but that's not true: mc was told that (and that's why this origin has me by the throat (pun absolutely intended): imagine living with so much guilt, thinking you were doing good, but in fact driving people mad… mmm tasty). it ties perfectly into every origin path where mc was being lied to, deceived and betrayed. however, there's definitely something more to the curse's nature that's yet to be disclosed.
my favourite moment though!! is this nuanced character storytelling!!
the very hand that was inches away from choking mc to death is quickly disguised as caring and soothing. wonder why? to gain mc's trust (non-verbally), to show that leander's in control, he's strong, he's there for mc, he'll take care of them. of course, leander, being a leander, downplays the whole experience of being possessed/affected by the curse, but he's being honest at once. he doesn't lie to mc — and that's also how he's gaining trust, verbally this time.
one more question that begs to be asked: why the hell all of this doesn't happen if mc touches leander first? it seems that the quality of the touch (😭) also plays an important role here:
leander must have felt the power of the curse, but he wasn't possessed by it, he could control it right away — why? because the touch was fleeting? or because it was mc who was touching him, not the other way round?
now hear me out (i might be wrong on this one, because i can't remember any more examples off the top of my head, but i feel like it's definitely a thing. let me know if something comes up!): we should pay closer attention to how leander says the truth (or half-truth), but it could be understood differently at a flirting angle (it's slightly different from this one, where he covers up his misstep). what i think he means here is that he controls the curse, but it sure is a difficult thing to do. "not due to your power" my ass, his need to look strong and heroic and weak at the same time is ridiculous, someone cure this man (ivolunteer.gif)
one more and last thing that's bothering me (it might play into the previous point btw): if you keep touching him, he tells mc that fissures on their hands match his golden pin. why??????? that's such a dumb thing to flirt about, such a weird comparison. what kind of connection is there? it's so out of place, it definitely means something more. leander spill
#touchstarved leander#ts leander#leander#touchstarved#touchstarved game#i've spent 6 hours on this instead of sleeping my love for this man...... is huge just like his huge naturals#anyway!! as always come to talk to me!! there are so many things we can speculate about!#also if you remember more examples bring them all onnnn#lmao i feel tainted with my love for leander just like the warden in my previous reblog#i need this game right now i cant overanalyze the scraps anymore#(i can but i love whining)#ts meta#touchstarved theory#ok im rambling i need to go to sleep already#**ts

Cassian’s kitchen, Space Brownies and lying (badly)
In episode 2, Cassian comes home to a really awkward atmosphere - Maarva knows that he’s fucked up somehow because she’s seen the PreMor “wanted !” bulletin, but he doesn’t know that she knows … and she maintains a frosty silence to see if he will be honest with her. He isn’t. But sensing that something is up, Cassian heads into the kitchen and grabs something to eat. In the snippet below Diego Luna explains the influence for this idea.
Thanks to the 4K BTS features, we can see the Andors’ kitchen in glorious detail. I think that what Cassian might be eating is whatever is under the cake dome. Looks suspiciously like brownies to me. Something chocolatey and tempting anyway. Makes lying so much easier when you can self-medicate with one of these delicious morsels.
Space Brownies ™. (May contain pistachios.) Perfect for munching on while lying (badly) to a parent. Now I want to bake them.
More on Cassian’s lying below…
I think it’s so ironic and genuinely funny that Cassian and Brasso go to all that trouble of constructing a really fantastic alibi, only for Cassian to kind of abandon it. For a man who becomes such a good liar by the time of Rogue One he really is pretty hopeless at it in these early episodes, at least with people close to him.
The reasons why are interesting though. His first chance to use the alibi is with Bix. But she knows him far too well and he knows that she knows him far too well - so he doesn’t even try to lie well. He wants something from her and just wants to get straight to that . When she asks what happened to him, he simply says “I fell”, and they both know it’s lame bullshit. She’s wryly amused and he simply doesn’t care. And she gets the great “On what - a jealous husband?” burn and he doesn’t care about that either. Bix is used to him lying and he’s used to her doing him a favour no matter how he behaves. He takes her for granted and is genuinely disrespectful on occasion.
But with Maarva - who also knows him really well - he has genuine respect, and a fear. He really wants her to be proud of him. He kind of starts with the Brasso lie: “ I ran into Brasso last night. We had plenty to talk about…”. But all he gets back is the tight-lipped “Hmm, sounds fascinating!” and “You’ve been busy!” and a squeak from B2EMO that lets him know Maarva has given the droid an instruction to stay quiet. So Cassian can 100% tell that she’s onto him in some way but keeps going with the lies in the hope of getting out of this. And re the wound on his cheek?… “Oh this!” (gives a hilariously awkward little chuckle) “… I was helping Pegla and I tripped on a cable”.
What’s really interesting here? He changes the lie completely - to describe a situation where he was being altruistic and helpful. He wants to make her proud of him.
This is how Andor does its storytelling so brilliantly. Tiny little details like this that give away so much about Cassian and his relationships. And the other main characters too. It’s why I lose patience with people who describe the opening 2 episodes as boring or slow. Like Cassian and the space brownies, we are eating something rich and tasty.

i am once again thinking about the responses astarion approves of, when you approach the druid at the circus who gives the love trial.
the answers are light, and have truth to them, but they are also very guarded, compared to some of the other ones available. it says he likes when the mc plays with him, the give and take of banter. but it also says that astarion needs to trust that you're not going to just spout off his deepest thoughts and feelings to any random who asks. he needs to feel like he's safe, like his secrets are protected with you.
i think this is the most clear with the last two questions.
tell me, what does he desire more than anything? the druid, zethino, asks.
and you can say me, freedom, revenge, or a nice, tasty rat.
we know from astarion's personal quest that his constant scheming and attempts to seize power are all in a bid to secure his freedom from cazador's influence. and if you want to keep him from ascending, you have to point out that power won't give him the freedom he is seeking. i think you could make the arguement that freedom is something he wants even more than revenge on cazador for everything the vampire did to him. but astarion approves of 'revenge', is delighted when you give this answer.
(edit: i had more debate here but i did find a video of this with all responses, and astarion actually says in response to freedom basically 'you're not wrong, but do we have to tell everyone our business?')
clearly there's a focus on the answer that gives astarion the least exposure, rather than the 'right' one.
same goes for the last question.
fear sits in the soul of all—to tame it, we must name it. astarion—what is his deepest fear?
mc can answer sharp wooden sticks, breaking a nail, forever feeling like a slave to someone else, or most things fear him, actually
even though zethino has just said that you HAVE to name your fears or else they'll swallow you whole, answering the most obvious of these ('forever feeling like a slave to someone else') only brings disapproval from astarion. i chose 'most things fear him, actually' and he liked this answer, and i believe he approves of 'breaking a nail' as well. again, more flippant responses that still have truth to them.
and these answers show him that you see him enough to know that actually naming his deepest fear in this setting would be wildly uncomfortable for him at best and traumatizing at worst.
he's not ready for the world to know him yet, he's still processing two hundred years of 'pure shit'. i think it's super clever and subtle storytelling, and a way to show players that sometimes the 'right' answer isn't actually the one you need to automatically give, just to satisfy the need to be right, and to show other people how well you know astarion. the mc needs to show astarion that they do see him, enough to know how much he values safety and privacy after having it ripped away from him for centuries.

fucking. has anyone said @wasyago yet? cause they deserve this
I love their art so so much, theyre genuinely one of my greatest inspirations ever, in my top 10 favorite artists of ALL TIME. they just keep making BANGER after BANGER after BANGER. they have such an incredible grasp on so many of the different aspects of art. solid drawing/3D space (seriously every drawing of theirs has a tangible sense of weight and volume to it, everything makes sense like it was drawn straight from a 3d model), color theory (the way they color makes me lose my friggin marbles man. every color choice is weird and also tasty and its so so good), appealing character designs (THEYRE SO GOOD. again the COLORS they work SO WELL TOGETHER and i love love love their shape language and how they draw faces), anatomy in general, stylization holy shit the way they stylize characters is AMAZING, lighting, rendering (i love their rendering style so fuckn much), composition (tango in front of the moon is one of my faves), storytelling through design, dynamic posing, expressions, EVERYTHING.
this got a lot more technical than i was hoping but AAAAAA WASYAGOS ART IS SO SO JUST SO AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!

thinking about how insane the demon slayer art style and character design is. like, the the nose, mouth, and face shapes of everyone in the main cast are virtually identical regardless of gender, and yet every single character has a very distinct personality at first glance. And unlike other popular anime, it isn't their rainbow hair colors or painstakingly customized uniforms that help the audience tell them apart (though I do love their outfits).
It's almost entirely their eyes.
The best example of this is probably shinobu. Her eyes are enormous, round, and purple, things associated with femininity. However, they have no pupil or sclera and have a matte gradient effect. The gradient effect gives an appearance similar to an insect's compound eyes, giving a nod to her abilities and character aesthetic, but more importantly, the lack of reflected light makes her eyes look completely dead. This tells you everything you need to know about shinobu's character. She's beautiful and graceful in her appearance and mannerisms, but she's also lost the most important thing in her life, is capable of great cruelty towards her enemies, takes a sadistic delight in their pain, and her cheerful and benevolent persona is a facade. Basically, by just drawing a couple of carefully shaded circles, the artist lets you know that even if this character acts lively and upbeat, that fact that there is no light behind her eyes shows that it is false.
This is thrown into even greater contrast when a flashback is shown of kanae, shinobus late sister, who we know that shinobu seeks to imitate with her faux cheerfulness. Though their faces are identical, their eyes couldn't be more different. Where shinobus eyes are matte and reflect no light, kanaes are glossy and have three enormous highlights in each eye, making her look literally starry eyed, and that's reflected in her personality. Kanae is shown to kind, overly idealistic, and optimistic to the point of being airheaded: the exact opposite of shinobu, who is bitter, cunning, and capable of great cruelty.
Anyway demon slayer really makes the most of visual storytelling in even its smaller details.
Some other highlights in character design:
rengoku's constantly wide eyes with their rings of contrasting color that almost resemble an optical illusion perfectly convey everything about his most important character trait, his unrelenting intensity. Additionally, depending on context, his wide-eyed appearance can either be played for laughs or deeply unnerving, depending on whether his neverending enthusiasm is being directed towards complimenting tasty food or carving up his enemies with a smile.
Obanai has heterochromia identical to that of a cat, and let's be real, his personality is pretty cat-like. He's proud, disdainful, and judgemental of others, but he is also full of unconditional love for Mitsuri, even if he usually only shows it by quietly enjoying her company. Plus, it's also revealed that the reason obanai fell in love with mitsuri is because she is a genuine person who doesn't push his boundaries, giving him someone he can truly be comfortable around. Anyone who's interacted with a cranky stray cat before can tell you how familiar that sounds.
Nezuko has three separate sets of eyes throughout the series. As a human, her pupils are pink with complicated black shading and with a white highlight, once again hinting at her innocence. As a demon she usually has pink eyes with a circular highlight, but all the shading and therefore all the "depth" is gone. Since she doesn't remember that her family was killed and has somewhat regressed to a childlike state, nezuko still has her innocence (as shown by the highlight) but has lost her complexity that made her fully human. When she becomes enraged, her pupils become dark and slitted and her irises lose their reflective sheen, showing that not only is she monstrous, she has temporarily regained the capacity for anger and other dark emotions, and lost the ignorance/innocence that keeps her monstrous instincts at bay.
Muichiro has no memory of anything but the last three months of his life, and likewise, his eyes are foggy and dull
In the case of aoi, the square, blocky shape of her pupil implies a lot about her character: the fact that she's somewhat ordinary and a reliable, steady ally, even if she can be a little stiff.
I'm fairly certain that tanjirous red eyes were supposed to have narrative importance and signal that he is a descendant of yoriichi until it was decided at some point that yoriichi had no children and tanjirou was a descendant of a friend of yoriichi instead (either that or the reveal was planned from the beginning and the eye color was a red herring), but that's beside the point. Tanjirous eyes are red with dark shading, and do not have a highlight, though they do have a white pupil. This combination represents tanjirous emotional maturity, the combination of negativity and positivity. Unlike shinobu, who has no light in her eyes and is controlled by her resentment, and kanae, who has nothing but light in her eyes and was idealistic to the point of foolishness, tanjirou has both. Yes, he has suffered, he lost almost his entire family, even after he dedicated his entire self to caring for them after his father's death. However, tanjirou is still a fundamentally compassionate and hopeful person. No, Tanjirou is far from the first shonen protagonist who is kind and a genuinely good person (Luffy, Naruto, and Goku come to mind), he is one of the more emotionally intelligent ones. Tanjirou empathizes with the demons and recognizes the suffering that made them into monsters, but at the end of the day, he still kills them. There is no talk no jutsu, there is no transformation of enemies into allies, and there is no sparing of enemies out of respect for their fighting prowess. Though Tanjirou recognizes that demons are tragic and pitiful, he also knows that they are creatures that survive only on the slaughter of innocents. This isn't to say that stories about redemption or forgiveness or once-feared villains turning into the protagonists wacky neighbor are inherently bad, far from it. But for the story that demon slayer is, tanjirou is the perfect fit. And you can tell, just by looking in his eyes.

Additional WoF hcs
SandWings have a type of adapted webbing between their claws from their common ancestry with SeaWings, to keep them from sinking in the sand.
IceWings also have similar so they can swim and walk on the snow.
MudWings love frogs and will consider it good luck if they see a bullfrog, especially a particularly large one. For this reason, they tend to depict cranes and herons, which eat frogs, as crafty and a little bit evil in their storytelling.
MudWings generally don't eat alligators because of the belief they are related.
SkyWings incorporate eagles into their religious beliefs and believe that they are sacred, like angels or watchful guardian spirits in disguise, and they are Apalled at the prospect of eating one.
Coral loves dolphins so much, she named her daughter Orca. That's not really a headcanon, that's just a thing I just realized lol
SeaWings have a popular dessert they like to make from red kelp, it's like gelatin or pudding. It's especially popular among the lower class dragons.
SkyWings really aren't sure what to do with their war-mutilated veterans, especially the lower class ones. They hate any sort of imperfection, but they also admire the fact that they survived battle at all, so they altogether just try not to think about them. Maybe they even have a closed off section of town where they encourage them to stay. :(
I'm not sure if this happened already but I'm sure Thorn is going to either destroy the weirdling tower and cause riots or she will destroy the building and put the contents into a proper museum to preserve what an awful dragon Burn was
SeaWings have the highest literacy rate next to NightWings. Many IceWings can't read much more than their own names.
SeaWings can be immune to jellyfish venom.
Toys commonly given to dragonets include wooden, clay, or iron figures, dolls made from wood, cloth, or sometimes grass, stuffed animals, wooden practice weapons, dress up jewelry made from glass, and more. Additionally, dragonets, especially in the Kingdom of Sky, are commonly given bones to chew as an equivalent to being given a lollipop.
Dragons regrow their teeth multiple times in their life, as part of the reason they're able to live so long. This comes from their common ancestry with crocodilians.
There is said by RainWings to be a species of eagle in the rainforest that is similar to a harpy eagle, but much bigger, with talons as big as a dragon's. It has been reported to have flown away with dragonets before, and though a very rare occurrence, RainWings tell their dragonets about it partially for their safety and partially to scare them into listening to them. The eagle is probably called something SkyWing related---after one of the queens, perhaps. These predator attacks are one of the only reasons that RainWings still have venom.
As well as flowers, RainWings like to decorate themselves and their homes with brightly colored feathers they find.
NightWings, upon coming to the rainforest, have since introduced RainWings to glass flower vases. Many RainWings love them. They have also introduced them to the concept of cooking fruit to make jam and juicing it and/or fermenting to make tasty drinks
SandWings believe that ravens are a good omen and enjoy leaving scraps of prey out for them. They admire their tendency to clean up what is upsetting and avoided by most. IceWings see them as a symbol of death or a warning and are extremely creeped out by their intelligence.
Despite their love for ravens, SandWings are really annoyed by their obnoxious cousins, crows, and it is not an uncommon sight to see them chasing the birds away with a broomstick
MudWings are delighted whenever they see bluejays or similarly bright colored temperate forst birds, but not for any spiritual reason. They just don't see bright colors often :D
MudWings generally find it extremely disrespectful to pick flowers, especially ones that grow on someone else's property, because brightly colored flowers are not especially common in the swamps. It's quite the culture shock when they meet RainWings who pick every pretty blossom in sight.
Similarly, if a SandWing finds a flower in the desert which is wilting, they are obligated to bring it water.
