Hello! Welcome to my corner of the internet, I'm Badger or Tarot (depending on the blog lol) and I use they/he pronouns :3 I'm queer and autistic and like to reblog things. I also like to make sideblogs, which I will be explaining and tagging under the cut!

Okay so this (@badgermcghee) is my main blog and is where I put any miscellaneous reblogs. I don't post many original posts here other than tag games, and their respective tags are #badger badgers and #tag games.
@tarotmantic is my main sideblog and is for any fandom posts I do not have a sideblog for. These include but are not limited to The Magnus Archives, Fall Out Boy, Hannibal, and Dear Evan Hansen. I do post original posts there semi-frequently, which are tagged with #tarot.txt for short posts and #tarot.docx for long posts.
@gingerpigs is my petblr blog for my beloved guinea pigs. I started it when I had three ginger pigs hence the branding, but now only one of three is ginger. All posts there are original and are tagged with all the relevant petblr/cavyblr tags.
@mousemannation is my shiny new tennis-specific sideblog. Started just after AO24 I'm still in the honeymoon phase and am reblogging on it constantly. Contains the occasional original post that I do not have a tag for yet.
-
I have a series of aesthetic blogs that I do not tag on, and they are as follows:
@eu-calyptos - nature/forest theme
@crowleythoth - occult/gothic theme
@chrysantheythemum - positive/cute/pastel theme
@clairdevoyant - weird/liminal/chaotic theme
@cannibalpilled - horror/cannibalism/body horror theme
special mention to my side account @pantheions which is greek mythology themed
-
Less Used Blogs
@mytaigne is my eurovision sideblog that is on indefinite hiatus during the esc boycott
@liminalingua is my rarely used writing/poetry sideblog
@6scera is my rarely used art sideblog
and then I have like ten other blogs that I almost never use lol so they will remain a secret lest this post get obscenely long.

been a long time!
since the 'wands' post gained such popularity, here's my doc of all the major & minor arcana, at least the way i usually read them. remember, there's no right or wrong way to read tarot!
for those interested, i'm also on instagram (@tarotbudapest), although i pretty rarely post anything :(

i saw a post about the shift of fandom into a self-serving, largely surface level experience (put very very generally) and it’s got me thinking. there was value to the post, but i do want to point out another factor that is probably contributing to this shift.
previously, when fandom was relegated primarily to forums and fanzines, you had to be pretty deep in one to find yourself in these spaces. that’s not to say there weren’t casual enjoyers, but i feel generally the contributors were inclined to participate with a lot more energy. these days, as fandom has expanded into every corner of the internet, it has become very accessible. it’s much more likely to passively interact with fandom content nowadays. this means that far more people who aren’t incredibly invested in the fandom, that are only there to look at some good art or read a fun fic, and are not particularly looking for any sort of active engagement of the mind (the post i mentioned specifically mentioned the lack of critical thinking, in some part related to critical analysis of things within a fandom). there’s also an increased amount of people who engage specially with the fandom and not the media on which it’s based, because once again fandom has become expansive enough to find its way onto dashboards with enough content to subvert the need for the “official” media at all.
honestly, i don’t think any of this has any inherent moral value, and the way you consume content isn’t required to be any specific amount of critical. people are also increasingly aware of every bad thing happening at any one moment, and many of us turn to fandom content to get away from that. i think the post made some good points, and that expanding the media you consume is good, being exposed to many different perspectives through media is good. being critical of media is good. but so is using media as a comfort, as a form of entertainment, as a method of relaxing. i also think it is true that some aspects of fandom have become insular, echo chambers of self-righteousness and accusation- but this is true of the internet as a whole. i don’t think it’s a symptom of fandom, and although the post didn’t say this outright, it wasn’t clear that this isn’t what it meant.
