I don't think it's bad to enjoy a "childish" show. Like look at the people enjoying Bluey or My little Pony. I for myself really adore the Hamtaro-Anime!

I haven't watched the Tama-Anime myself, do you know a good place to be able to watch it?

Oh, I didn't mean anything bad by calling it childish, I was just trying to set expectations because I praised it a lot. I watch cartoons almost exclusively, I didn't want anyone coming into it expecting Digimon Adventure level story telling.

This is Raw, but most of it you don't need to understand, it just tells the backstory of the Vintage era. Oyajitchi gets the Tamagotchi Planet drunk, and all the Tamas evacuate to earth, a UFO crashes into the back of a depressed professor Banzo, and he and his assistant Mikachu build the v-pets for them to live in and study them. The second half of the video are just short skits showing off the personalities of vintage era Tamas. These were considered lost media until recently, there are still a few missing shorts.

English dub, if a sub exists, I haven't found it. This kicks off the Tamagotchi Connection era. The previous era of Tamagotchi had kind of an early pokemon vibe to it, sans the humans, they were weird creatures being studied, but this era will feel more like My Little Pony with the characters living in a community and being more individuals.

A series of shorts, showcasing the Tamagotchis personalities, they're very cute. This is the dub. I've managed to find a torrent for a sub version on nyaa.si but there was literally no difference in the script, even a Japanese pun got translated the same as in the dub.

This is a dub of the first 12 episodes, which is the whole first season, said to be lighter on story than the rest of the series ( wish I could see the rest of the series to find out ), it's in a kind of a messy butchered state, a character speaks a bit of japanese out of nowhere in one part, I haven't watched all the episodes yet myself. You can find the first four episodes subbed on the Tamagotchi Archive Youtube channel, but i've never found any of the main anime subbed elsewhere.

This is an english dub for a webisode series they made to promote Tamagotchi Friends, and I only learned about this series last night ,as well as the device it's meant to promote. Supposedly these are just very short bits taken from a later season of the anime though. I haven't watched it yet. And that's all I can find. I really wish there was more. There's several seasons of the anime neither dubbed nor subbed , and lots more shorts ( coincidentally you can find all the Raws easily on archive.org, youtube, and elsewhere ) . But the anime officially ended a few years ago, and Bandai seems to have no interest in localizing it, they only seem interested in selling the v-pets and nostalgia based merchandise with gen 1 and gen 2 characters on it in the west. The only chance we have at official re-releases is if somebody like Discotek gets the licensee, which could happen, they have been doing great things with Digimon, and reminder, they have an official wishing thread for lisences on Reddit that they check from time to time, I'd suggest mentioning that you want it ( you can slip in other licenses you'd like as well, I want to see Animal Crossing Kirby and Mario anime myself )

That's still a slim shot though and I think we'd have better luck getting a fan subbing group to take the lead, but I don't know how to coax anyone into doing that without coming off as a freeloader trying to benefit from someone else's hard work, but god, please, if any fan subber is reading this, please consider the Tamagotchi anime. Save us from Bandai's miserly ways.

Week 14: "the lovers with umbrellas always pass me by" is from the song Rain, from the album Freedom Child by The Script. Pretty lame album, I was a bit disappointed.

Week 15: "you're simply lost" "you poor unfortunate soul" and "don't think I didn't notice" are all separate lines from the song Holy, from the album White Noise by PVRIS. I liked this one a lot, it was really good

Week 16: "we all assume the worst the best we can" is from the song Muddy Hymnal, from the album The Creek Drank The Cradle by Iron and Wine. This was my mom's recommendation- when you really sit and listen, it's a deeply hurt and upset album! I liked certain songs but taken altogether it wasn't my favorite

Week 17: "I'm picking up good vibrations" is from the song Good Vibrations by The Beach Boys. Found out during this week that the original SMiLE album project was never finished, so I split this week between Smiley Smile, Brian Wilson presents SMiLE, and The Smile Sessions, all of which have this song on them.

Week 18: "timekeeper, the days are rolling by // timekeeper, tell me I'm going to be alright" is from the song Timekeeper, from the album The Lion, The Beast, The Beat by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. Also really really enjoyed this album. Yes it's Homestuck fanart, no there's nothing you can do about it

Week 19: "wake up tomorrow and try again" is from the song 2 Best Friends, from the album Intellectual Property by Waterparks. Good album, though it doesn't top Greatest Hits, imho. But I had this song stuck in my head a lot.

Week 20: "to my burning heart" is from the song Will Anybody Ever Love Me?, from the album Javelin, by Sufjan Stevens. Youngest sister's recommendation, little bit of a weird album but I didn't hate it

Week 21: "a rising dream or a falling star?" is from the song Lonely Girl, from the album M!ssundaztood by P!nk. Loooove P!nk, but finding out that she's from Philadelphia through a song where she starts singing about gun violence, specifically in North Philly, was wild (I currently live in North Philly)

Week 22: "I had a dream you were two towns from me // got to sleep, spent the whole night running" is from the song Two Towns From Me, from the album 3 Rounds and a Sound by Blind Pilot. Middle of the road album but I like this song a lot

Week 23: "don't forget, we won't forgive" is from the song Fucked Up Kids, from the album Forever Halloween by The Maine (which was definitely not as good as I hoped it'd be)

Week 24: "there's no need for anger, there's no need for blame // there's nothing to prove, everything's still the same" is from the song Farewell, Angelina, from the album of the same name by Joan Baez. Actually I think Bob Dylan wrote the song but I don't know if her version is a cover or not. Joan Baez is another mom recommendation, I like her voice a Lot, but I'm pissed that I fucked up the illustration so badly, ugh

Week 25: "you're not alone, I repeat, you're not alone", is the very intro to a song called Tamagotchi, from the album There Goes The Neighborhood by Kid Kapichi. One of those blessed instances where I went to see a concert and ended up loving the opener, too- I saw Kid Kapichi open for Nothing But Thieves last year and now I listen to them regularly, recommend

Week 26: "can you feel it coming in the air tonight, oh Lord?" is from the song In The Air Tonight, from the album Face Value by Phil Collins. 'Why did you put the question mark there' because I wanted to. Next question. Is it a good album? Eeeeehhhhhh. He did his best work for Tarzan and Brother Bear and that's just facts.

As for the art, I know some are better than others, but I'm still having fun and have NO intention of stopping any time soon!

HAD AN INSANE DREAM TODAY Basically it focussed in on a person and all these memories he had, like hanging out with friends and going places from a cctv type perspective. Then it cut to this woman in her office and shes definitely like… idk an agency that looks for missing ppl, she wasnt a cop. And she starts talking and shes like "we should really focus on finding him. He seemed like a really nice person and also… he was the last person in that town, all the others have gone missing" And she thinks shes speaking to a colleague whom keeps trying to interrupt

And then the colleague pulls a seat next to her and shes still laser focussed on the computer shes watching the footage on. And he finally gets to make his point and . Get this. As he lowers to sit in camera view its fucking slenderman.

BoxLunch Sells Grogu Tamagotchi

Bandai has had a long relationship with BoxLunch, a Hot Topic store. If you remember way back when to 2015, Hot Topic was the retailer carrying the Tamagotchi Friends Dream Town. We’re glad to see that this relationship is still strong! BoxLunch is now carrying the Grogu Tamagotchi! It looks like they’ll only be carrying the blue version, which of course does not include the Grogu case.

The Tamagotchi Friends articles on the Tamagotchi Wikia have been updated to include all of their shell designs. It’s been a long time coming. I actually had to go through internet archives to find Bandai’s high resolution images of the 18 shells because they’re not on the official site anymore.
