“Oh wow!” Poppy summons something close enough to genuine excitement, she’s always been good at faking it – plastic smiles and shiny eyes. “Congratulations!” Vaguely she wonders if Tala knows him, knows him truly. Poppy won’t pretend she does, but she lived long enough with violent and cruel men to recognize that look – even if it didn’t hit her until long after they broke up. “Raf didn’t say anything when I spoke to him recently,” the mean girl cruel streak flashes once, “but that ring is stunning. Do you have a date set? Are you planning on getting married here?” Poppy laughs lightly, “I don’t know if I’d count a bonfire as a dress up worthy event, but maybe I’ve been spoiled by DC.”

"No worries," Tala smiled back, taking Poppy's hand in greeting before offering her name. "Tala. Bautista, soon to be De Oliveira." Flashing her engagement ring as she released her grip, it wasn't even that it was Rafael's ex that had her dropping his name... that wasn't the whole reason, anyway. The poor girl could not pass the Bechdel test since the day she'd met him. "Honestly, I have only lived here a few years, but they certainly don't have events like these as often as they should. It's far too rare to have an excuse to dress up in this town."

I'm sorry I didn't get to post an update before Valentine's Day. My schedule is always a little crazy at the beginning of the week and I was more focused on getting the first fics uploaded.

The two I was expecting not to finish did end up unwritten. I never 100% scrap ideas, so there's a possibility they'll show up in some capacity later on. BUT, I'm excited that I got six finished. Truthfully I've had a hard time finding my groove this year, but I know it'll come with consistency. At least, I hope lol

As far as posting order goes, the Rickiah and TyHil ones will be last. The TyHil needs a lot of editing and I want to make sure it's in good shape before it goes up. Posting order for the other two is TBD.

what has brought this one to even CONSIDER giving him even the slightest of attentions ?  normally he was quiet  ,  alone  ,  far from social contact as he felt awkward most of the time.  however now that seems to CRACK away that shell as he feels the connection o'er muzzle to his ears.  a warmth that usually is never felt  ;  not in his line of work either.  soundlessly they're growling  ,  although not in the matter of being angry but just CONTENT as he leans 'gainst the others attention.  reminding himself where he was he straightens up quickly  ,  quietly taking the offering to him as rear settles down in his seat.  teeth BITE at straw to KEEP it still as it draws in a small sip to test the beverage.  obviously baelcer was going to have a few of these bad boys.

Mel has been a knight since she was about seventeen years old, they usually don’t let people enter that young but Mel had no where else to go after her aunt who she had been living with at the time was killed by a monster that she still doesn’t know much about. Mel was a fast learner and was determined to be the best Knight that they had but when she was in her early twenties she went on a mission with a small team and they were attacked, Mel was the only survivor and suffers from PTSD from the experience, she won’t talk about it and has been banned from the field ever since so she sticks to helping the assault agents train in the gym by being a personal trainer of sorts. Mel also has sort of made herself in charge of helping the trainees relax often she will recruit some of them for baseball games or friendly soccer matches out on the grounds, it keeps them active helps them relax and everyone deserves some fun once in a while right? Mel can also often be found in the kitchens sort of instructing the cook on what foods are best for the agents to keep them healthy and on their toes for missions or training that day.

all of that pain and horror is elias’s fault.  he can’t be so selfish, endangering anna when she’s risked all she had and given up everything to keep him safe.  he owes her more than that -- he has to be better, smarter, stronger: just like anna and mama and papa.
