Calling All TaiQrow Artists!! We need you!

Do you like TaiQrow? Do you have a penchant for art?

Birds of a Feather is looking for artists to help us create character sprites and backgrounds for the TAIQROW route for our upcoming Qrow-centric visual novel game.

While our game supports the playing of multiple Qrow-based ships, the ship-selection will allow the player to choose and follow a singular ship’s story through the eyes of Qrow, as he recounts his past that led him to get (or fail to get) together with the selected love interest.

I did a thing!

Sometime soon during the first week of March, @shipwreckedfanzine will be releasing a Qrow ship zine, and I’ve had the pleasure of getting to write for it! This is the first time I’ve ever done something like this so I’m really excited! There are so many talented and wonderful writers and artists that worked on this project, and I feel so blessed to have my work next to theirs. I’m also hella pumped to get to see their stuff when it’s released! Go check it out!

To the point, though, this is a little teaser of the piece I wrote!

Comfort

Summary: Getting ready for an evening out is often difficult for Qrow, but Tai has all the patience in the world for making sure his husband is happy and comfortable in his own skin. This hurt/comfort taiqrow fic deals with a dysphoric, anxious Qrow.

“Qrow..?” Tai gently eased up next to him, a warm, comforting hand finding the small of his back. “Something wrong..?”

A long moment of quiet stretched out between them before Qrow huffed a frustrated breath through his nose, hand still pressed over his face and refusing to look at Tai.

“Shirt’s… tight,” he mumbled from under his hand. “Feel stupid…”

Taiyang scoffed lightly, fingers finding the bottom of the shirt and straightening it slightly.

“I think you look stunning. You always do,” he insisted, trying to pull Qrow over into a hug.

“No. It’s not-” He pushed at Tai’s chest slightly, backing out of the attempted hug and sighing heavily again. Finally he dropped his hand, and teary red eyes met worried blue.

“It’s… I can’t… I’m not flat enough. People can tell. I don’t… think I can go, okay? I just… I can’t been seen out… Like this.” He gestured wildly to his person in frustration before turning to walk back towards the bathroom to get out of this ridiculous outfit.

Tai’s kind but firm hand caught his arm before he could get far...

Okay, I’m doing this in this order because this made me laugh.

F - What’s the longest you’ve ever been in a fandom

As in an active participant or as a lurker? 

It’d probably go to the Sailor Moon fandom. Never grew out of it. Haven’t really jumped into it full as a content creator but maybe soon.

A - Your current OTP(s)/OT3(s)/OTX(s)

Okay, if we’re gonna be listing all these I’m gonna need a whole document because this is gonna take a while. 

Like, for RWBY I have Catmeleon, Seamonkeys, IronQrow, TaiQrow, IronTai, IronTaiQrow, Freezerburn, Monochrome, Bees Schnees, CVFY Shop, Emmercury, Arkos, Martial Arcs, Lotus Eaters, Ladybug, Sugar Rush, and MORE. Like this is just scratching the surface.

And then there’s all the ships in My Hero Academia; Kiribaku, Poly-Bakusquad, Iideku, Tododeku, Toiideku, MomoJirou, KamiJirou, Uraraka/Tsuyu, Erasermic, Toshinko, Shinsou/Ashido, the list goes on.

Then there’s my ships with RvB and that’s a whole other bulletin board of crazy you don’t want me to unfurl. 

Like seriously, there’s a reason me and a buddy sometimes joke “and thus they are shipped”.  If I see a good dynamic, I usually end up shipping it. And I have.

Okay, so this cover of Hello Worker appeared on my shuffle.(Careful for the blinky/rapid fade in-out effects in the video, there’s a free mp3 download in the description too)

Off the top of my head it kind of reminds me of a lot of young All Might. I can’t help but wonder if he ever felt the same way the singer does in this song at some points in his life. 

I can also see it fit characters like Bakugou, Yaoyorozu, Iida, and Todoroki. Like, my take away from the song

M - Say something genuinely nice about a ship that you don’t ship (or its shippers, or anything related to you)

While I don’t Dabi with anyone myself, I love seeing how creative the artists get with the pairings he’s in. Keep being creative you happy shippers.

I was amazed not only by their rare ships and their willingness to do Yaoi such as TaiQrow, but I was also pleased by how they understood the beauty of making female characters like Glynda or Velvet Buff, as there's a lovely aesthetic to muscular women not enough people are willing to appreciate, if you ask me.

If you ever manage to commission them, please let me know and I'll happily reblog your commission...they're an amazing artist, and I do like rareships like Pyrrha x Ren...though I do not think anyone should ever try those smoothies of his.

13: favorite writing song/artist/album of this year

Oooooooooooooooooh boy this is a hard one. I have a bunch. I might eventually need to make a top 20 every year at this rate. My 

But if we’re talking just what was released this year, then I’d have to pick RWBY volume 4′s best track “This Life is Mine”.

If we’re talking songs that just helped me in general with writing, all the songs in my Musical May series, as well as my signature song I turn to for writing “Lost my Pieces” from the Toradora soundtrack.

19: any new fics to start next year

I do have a few coming out next year, but if I have to pick one, It’s Gravity Rain. It’s a TaiQrow Soulmates AU. I’m a sucker for soulmate AUs.

Musical May is also happening again. Though…not for just RWBY this year.
