I když jako umělec extrémně nesnáším AI, tak se k němu snažím stavět otevřeně. Chat GPT je dobrý pomocník na určitý věci, ale teď jsem si s ním dobrou půl hodinu povídala a odlezlo mi z toho pár mozkových buněk.

Ptala jsem se na ně úplně známý věci, ve kterých se celkem dost vyznám, a on mi říkal úplně něco jiného, nevím odkud ty informace tahal, ale mám důvodné podezření, že asi z prdele. Každopádně, nebyl schopný mi to nějak podložit a když jsem si to hledala sama, tak Google taky nevěděl, co po něm chci.

More Michael x Rayner AU/story ideas I just had, so throwing them out there:

Meeting Tahal The Discovery visits Kellerun and Rayner has to face the demons of his past when Tahal shows up. Still having a special interest in Rayner, she demands the commander to be handed over or she'll destroy Discovery and attack Kellerun. Rayner is willing to sacrifice himself, but Michael isn't having it.

I actually think it would be interesting to meet Tahal after learning what she did to Kellerun and to Rayner specifically. I've read somewhere that if we would have got season 6, Rayner would have been in it, so I feel like that could have been an interesting storyline for him.

Meeting the ex The Discovery meets an old flame/ex partner of Rayner which triggers Michael's jealousy and makes her finally face her feelings for the commander that are no longer simply platonic.

Jealousy is just a great trope and every ship deserves a meeting the ex kind of story.

Fake Relationship Trope Inspired by the Orville episode "From Unknown Graves", the Discovery is send to negotiate with an aggressively matriarchal species. To not antagonize the diplomats and jeopardize the negotiations, Rayner has to pretend to be Michael's (subordinate) husband. The crew is not suprised how easy it's for both Michael and Rayner to pretend to be married…

Well I've tried to avoid spoilers but their are a few things I know going in the appearance of a character from ENT I'd originally guessed Trip Tucker because he died in a weird way and in non-cannon he did things after his "death" but a sci fi news article discussing Daniels gives me a feeling it's him makes more sense though and I saw two images one of a old Burnham and one of Burnham and Moll standing in front of some light on a cliff or something due to a current boycott of Paramount and Paramount+ I'm watching this from a pirate cove and I'd encourage you to do the same and without further ado live blogging of Star Trek Discovery and as always 🌟SPOILERS🌟

I'm still sad this is the last episode of DIS

Well I'm glad it's longer then a regular episode but part of me was hoping for a 2 hour finale but considering it wasn't known until after shooting that it was the last episode and then reshoots that I'm sure are the extra length of this episode

So a short explanation of Calypso but I still don't understand why Zora had to wait for Craft or the importance of Craft tbh and poor Zora has to wait 1000 years alone is so strange I also assume it was a life or death thing with the crew abandoned ship rather then this whole red directive thing its just kind of odd

Ah Detmer and Owosekun finally returned for the last few minutes of the finale

Ah a impressive fleet shot I do love the Merian Class, Kirk Class, Courage Class of my personal favorite out of the 32-33nd century ships the Eisenberg Class

So that's it the end of Discovery it had its hurdles but it also started Nu-Trek I personally am indeed a fan of the show this and Lower Decks are definitely my favorite of the Nu-Trek shows I am sad to see it go

It started my tradition of watching Nu-Trek and drinking canned Guayaki Yerba Mate late at night and it started many fond memories I've never said this online before but I never watched the last episode of ENT until the pilot of DIS came out I waited years to watch it but I couldn't bring myself to "finish" Star Trek until a new show was announced so I waited years to watch that last episode of ENT and after years of waiting and it was terrible but luckily this finale was better then that

Notes: Whilst I fully support the canonical pairing of Michael/Book for the TV show in fan fiction I genuinely think that there is a goldmine with Michael/Rayner. I have issues with that pairing though. Books actions in season four would have left me feeling betrayed, angry, and lacking trust in the man. That would not be conducive to me for a healthy, sustainable relationship. I mean how do you get past the actions that almost created a war? Which is why I do support the Michael/Rayner pairing. Night

Prologue

Some nights were harder others, those were the nights that the screams of the dead were louder than the thoughts of the living. Those were the nights when the thoughts of the battlefield, and the battle arenas and the deaths of compatriots, kinsmen and women, of lovers and family and the things the Breen had managed to put a gun to their head to force them to do, to their planet, to each other, screamed so loud, and demanded to be paid attention. Growing up happened in the blink of an eye, childhood ceased, death became normal and living was an anathema.

He'd walked the hallowed and the accursed halls of Breen battle arenas, smelled the blood of his species seeping into any porous surface, and held he body of his wife of six days as she lay in his arms bleeding. She'd survived her battle long enough to be thrown back into the cells they had kept them all in. If she survived it would have been the next step to the next battle. She hadn't. The injuries were too much, the blood loss too significant. They had been but children themselves, but they had carved out something for themselves.

He had caressed her cheek and held her face in his hand as her head had gently lolled to the side, the energy had been too much to expend just to hold up her head. He gently pulled it back to face him, tears unshed in his eyes, tears falling silently from hers. No words could be spoken for what was there to say, they had known it wouldn't be long, but in the minds of the young, love demands to be screamed from the mountains, and can never be denied. So they had taken what they could for how long they could take it for, and this was the early, bitter end.

Blood spilt on a dirt floor of the planets premier battle arena, the smell of old blood, vomit and excrement poisoned thier sense of smell, the dark an oppressive force that surrounded them, cloaked them in a privacy, and stole their final moments to see each other properly. An ignominious end to be sure. Her final declaration of love was mouthed, her blood had spluttered out of her mouth as she coughed one last time, the air she needed making the blood filling her lungs bubble, and then her eyes had gently closed, her final moments hearing her lover and husband declare his love for her.

The guards had come for her body the next morning, he’d taken two of the Breen with his own hands before they had put him down. It had earned him an audience with Tahal that day. She had looked at him like a piece of meet, the feeling had made his skin crawl. He'd spat at her feet expecting to meet his wife shortly thereafter, but she had laughed instead, had called him her favourite, that he was almost a Breen in his ferocity. He had hated her in that moment and all the ones thereafter. His rage had become ice cold in that moment. He had felt it grow and take root in the heart that had once house the love for his wife.

Where once his ferocity had come from a single minded drive for survival, now it came from a desire for death, his own and theirs, a never ending bloodshed that would only end in his heart failing him, as his wife’s had. And then they had left. And Starfleet had come. When all had been said and done, and the tallies counted Kellerun was down 65% of it's population, the forests that once was, was no more. Its beauty razed and stripped for whatever the Breen wanted, habitable homes had been decimated, and there was Starfleet stepping in, helping. He saw his chance there, knew that joining up, enlisting as an officer would help him take the battle to the Breen someday. One day he would have his chance at Tahal.

The day he put on the cadets uniform, he had compartmentalised his feelings, built walls so high that he thought they would be forever impenetrable, and then there was a her, and a ship, and a crew that were as unrelenting in their belief in connection as he was in his desire to one day kill Tahal, and slowly those walls that he had built, those compartments has begun disappearing and suddenly nights like tonight, where he was sat in his bed, sweat pouring, anger racing in his veins and a grief so visceral that pain seemed a paltry word for how he felt.

It was nights like this, that he would seek her out, knew that of the 300 or more souls on the ship she would understand. she'd lost so much that they were parallels in a universe of individuals and chaos. He'd read her file, read her chequered history. He had seen the decision that had lead to the mutiny, had understood that she had greater information, that her Captain had made a different choice. He had agreed with Michael. He had understood her thought process, had known he would enjoy working with her, even on that first mission and now he was her subordinate, she worked slowly on tearing down the walls. And she was the only one who would understand nights like this.

The screaming hadn't stopped yet. He could still hear his mother’s screams. He could still see the blood, the breen had used machetes to hack not only her but his father and his sister and his brother to death. His mother laying on the ground, bleeding. Huge holes blown through her. The holes blown through his father. Blood dripping everywhere. His little sisters dead eyes staring at him. His brothers’ broken body. Laying there. Every year from the age of 12, one of his little siblings was taken out and had their heads chopped off. The breen started with the baby. His sister. Talara. The next year, Asil. Narissa. Lorian. Finally, Iria and Varen. Legs were amputated before any of his siblings heads were chopped off. In retaliation for the underground rebellion against tahal. He saw cousins attacked, assaulted, cut with machetes, shells and grenades and mortars fired at nieces and nephews, shot at, beaten, thrown in pits and latrines, drowned, forced to kill and attack other relatives, impaled, his houses every time he moved being destroyed, relatives were impaled, screaming for help, committing suicide, relatives being forced to kill others. For 4 years straight. From the age of 12 to 17. But it was that final year, when tahal used the Tau Ceti vipers to murder his father, his mother and his final two siblings. And him. Having to live through that, is what truly broke him. He had to fight through the torture of being poisoned.

One day a year he and Ayhan, Tarquin, Andrus and Admiral Vance and their families would all meet up, on a planet to be with Rayner on the anniversary of the murders of his parents and his siblings, the genocide of Kellerun. It was the one day a year where he allowed himself to let loose all his sadness, his anger, his grief. He mourned for not just his family but his people too. His blood brothers were the only ones he allowed to be with him when he lays down a henge as a memorial to his family. To remember them. Along with that, on his chest he had put the story of his family. Each symbol tattooed onto his chest represented a lost member of his family. One for his mother, his father, his grandparents, every cousin, niece, nephew, brother, sister, aunt, uncle. Every single member of his family. So he would never forget. With the way this year was going, he knew that he wanted the memorial to be on earth this year. In the Scottish highlands. At Tarquin’s family home. He needed to put his bare feet on grass this year. To breathe in the air on a planet. To be grounded. To feel connected again. This year had been so hard, facing the breen. Again. And discovering his life-mate and processing how their quantum entanglement would work. How was he going to handle this? She clearly loved Book.

Discovery finale

I'm still not over that finale and watched it again. Random thoughts in no particular order:

I still can't believe there were no vows at that wedding. That was the minimum I expected. I see a lot of fun behind the scenes pictures so fingers crossed something was taken out?

Ah, the beach! I guess this marriage takes place on Kaminar though it's never really said. Is it just me who worries that there was pressure of Vulcan purists? And Duvin intervened and was like, let's just do this on Kaminar so we don't upset the Vulcan alt-right? (I hope I don't overthink this but...)

I'm still like the bangs, the dress, I want to fix it all! I wanted T'Rina to look as good as possible for this wedding! Also, more Vulcan x Romulan touches in the fashion and Burnham in Vulcan formal wear please?

Kinda hoped for a (modern) variant of "parted from me and never parted, never and always touching and touched" when Saru returned or at a different moment? There was so little Sarina dialogue in general.

Primarch Tahal, interesting! I feel they were setting her up as a major character and I'll miss not getting to know her more. "Ambassador Saru, are you insane?" was a great line. And I wanted interaction between her and Rayner

Speaking of Rayner, why are you even at this wedding? Saru saw you once... Also where's the cake you were supposed to bring? Is Tilly your date? I need more information. PS: I grew really fond of Rayner and I'll miss him lots

Loved the atmosphere in that progenitor tech and levels but that triangle puzzle.... lordylordy..... The escape room enthusiast in me cringed so much

That bit where Stamets is sad/heartbroken/angry all in one gaze when the decision to destroy the progenitor tech is made. Also a character I'll miss a lot

The epilogue moved me, but the very end was also quite niche. I didn't remember a thing about Calypso and was like what is this....? And I really really feel bad for Zora still!!! Why dump a sentient AI all alone in space this way? I think they could have bridged to that Short Trek ep, if at all, in a much better way. For a show that really represented AI in interesting and unique embodied ways, I'm so shocked that this is how it ends. I expected a completely different arc. For instance, for Zora to maybe get a body, Mass Effect style? Detach a bit from Calypso, I would say, to truly honor that character. Does it really matter what happens in the far future?

I'll miss all these characters a lot and I really hope we'll see some back in Tilly's academy show or a different spin-off. It pains me the show ends prematurely and I'm also quite afraid we won't see much media around these characters anymore, because other Trek titles like SNW gained more traction. Merchandise wise I think we can't expect much either, which is a pity for me & my Saru shelf...

Without source material, it's always hard to keep up the fan art and such. But I do still have some ideas and I'll keep creating a few things that are still on my mind this summer for sure, I hope!
