blinks tiredly. i decide "hm maybe i should try to expand my circle and step outside of it a little, lets go look at the main community tags" and im just greeted with a bunch of edgelords who think saying "fiction doesn't affect reality, don't like don't read" is peak activism and "fighting censorship". head in my hands. this is partially why i do not ever go into the community tags, my nervous system cannot handle blocking fifty weirdos every single day just so i can have a normal experience in the community tags hfdsjkl

it kills me to say this since i am obviously a die-hard pjo fan, but rr suffers terribly from unable-to-write-compelling-romance- and also unable-to-write-women-in-love- syndrome

none of the canon ships are compelling to me in the source material. all my enjoyment of pjo ships comes from fandom hcs and fics. in canon, the recipe for a rr ship seems to be the golden retriever boy + black cat girl- trope. it all seems to be some grumpy smartass girl who spends all her waking time insulting the male love interest. and we're supposed to find it sweet.

I'm now remembering what frustrated me so thoroughly to quit neopets for months and it was wanting to paint my Kacheek purple and the paint brush (at least searching through shop wizard) is like 899,999np - 999,999np. I wasn't even playing neopets when the royal brushes came out and I can't even remember if the ones like purple or orange or brown (ya know. Like not the base colors but not like faerie or royal) were horribly expensive 15-20 years ago. But this is nuts. Also I can't figure out why when I submit items to my shop they just return to my inventory. Like I guess I'll just be doing Trudy's surprise until a million and then starting over for a faerie brush for my shoyru.. it'll be 10 more years bc I can't be bothered to figure out the economy for that level of bullshit, jfc.
