Hwang Daseul knocked it out of the park with Let Free the Curse of Taekwondo!

This show gave me three characters that will always have a special place in my heart. It hurt me in the best of ways and then stitched me back up. And it made this certified ice queen cry, which means I will love it forever.

I rarely give shows 10/10s and now I wish I could give this one an 11.

Final thoughts -

It ended well

1. I had some confusion after ep 6, but 7 and 8 cleared it up.

2. I wish they had more time to develop some of the transitions.

3. I can't believe how much pain and guilt Dohoe must have felt.

4. The ending was sweet.

It's worth a watch, but it's not for the fluffy, cuddly day.

Apparently I'm living the week where k-dramas are reminding me of how backwards their society is (and look, the gods know how much their media sugarcoats and glosses things over).

While in Let Free the Curse of Taekwondo, I thought it was wild that Dohoe vanished for TWELVE years without so much as a smoke signal, the fact that his dad was still held in high regard by pretty much everyone was still crazier. Those people were literally letting him beat up their kids cause he felt like it. Dohoe got fussy with Juyeong when he asked about the town, telling him to not look down at them... well maybe he should.

They were barely more than a village with barbaric traditions and it's not like they were living in the 60s. I still want to know what made everyone in that town so afraid of that old bastard, because I can't for the life of me think of a good reason to let a dojo owner beat the living crap of everyone in town and be thankful for that.
