Which of your OCs is most likely to say 'Fuck it, I'm done', fake their death, and run away to parts unknown?

To actually do it? Probably Xadya.

Xadya's homeworld is so secret, even *I* don't know where it is. On my spreadsheet, it reads "Unknown".

At one point during the five year gap, with the war against Zakuul lost, Xadya took Mako and Akaavi Spar to that world, and effectively retired. She opened up an armorer's shop, and and the three women lived rather happily together. She was out.

Buuuut... fate had other plans.

(Okay, it was actually Gault. This is all Gault's fault.)

Gault called her up one day and told her he had joined a new club, and she should definitely come in.

Xadya's first instinct is to say no. But then she thinks about Mako, and all the things her partner and lover would like to do if she weren't hiding on some backwater.

So Xadya, Mako and Akaavi join the Eternal Alliance.

Maybe she'll withdraw again someday... but then, maybe not. Mako does like the rest of the galaxy, after all.

What do you need to write? Is there anything special you need to do/have to help your creative flow?

Oh, I have a whole process. It involves taking a bunch of notes in my writing journal, some outline but mostly some snippets of dialogue. Then I go through several printed drafts, which I edit and revise with a red pen. I did the same here.

@tishinada had prompted this one, and I wanted to knock out a prompted story. This seemed like the easiest, and I wanted to get back to Kira and Corellan. So here we are.

Wild Card! I'll tell you a fun fact about this fic!

Admiral Hacklin is a throwaway character who is mentioned briefly like, twice, and never actually appears in the game. But I've played that scene a hundred times. It always bothered me that his fate went unresolved. So I'm glad to give him closure, here.

From OC “Most Likely To” 4. most likely to get a crap-ton of tattoos

Technically Mehio. She is a Mirialan, and she's more... enthusiastic about her heritage than Ulannium.

But they are all done in traditional Miralan style, so i don't know if she counts.

6. most likely to survive the zombie apocalypse

I'll go with Ozibaumnu, which is counter-intuitive, since physically he's one of my weakest OCs. But he's highly intelligent, and is a bit more conscious of his own mortality than most of my characters. He'll pull some Sith sorcery out of his butt, find someplace to lie low, and as long as Ashara is with him, he'll be fine.

Zed Mompi. My smuggler. But only if there's money in it. And if Risha doesn't catch him. Before he’s cut her in.

Lana Beniko. She is a unique and well-rounded character in SWTOR. Yes, she's a Sith, but she doesn't let that define her.

Annnnnd... my favorite character from my favorite anime: Misato Katsuragi from Neon Genesis Evangelion.

She's funny one minute and tough and professional the next.

Oh, this fluctuates...

But - If there's one book I always go back to, its Isaac Asimov's Foundation.

I... like the implications for how the world works. Its everything a science fiction story should be.

That is... difficult to say.

I will say ... Kira Carsen, because she is my favorite character from my favorite video game, and...

Wolverine.

Its nostalgia, really. I grew up with Wolverine during the late 80s, early 90. Before the character - and Marvel in general - were completely over-saturated.

When I read the old stories - the ones that I enjoyed - they are quite pulpy.

But what can i say? I love them.

Oh, my. You picked a sad one!

The POV character of 'What We Pass On' is Nas'haes'uhme - or Shaesu, by her core name. She is a Chiss sith acolyte on Korriban.

She's also the mother of my OCs - Ozibaumnu and Nasashdia.

Its well established that acolytes on Korriban only leave one of two ways - they either become Sith or they die. (The only two people who've defied this trend are Kira and that one guy on Hutta, with the family.) Most acolytes fail, usually being killed, though some go rogue in the wilderness before eventually dying.

Shaesu doesn't make it off Korriban.

One day in the tombs, two other acolytes ambush her. She's reasonably tough, but she's just not that 'invincible' type we see with the Sith Warrior / Inquisitor stories.

So as the story opens, she's lying on the ground and looking up at the sky, fatally wounded. Soon, her corpse will become carrion for the vermin.

And all she can think about are her children. She left them with people she knew - an Imperial family - in the Empire. But with their mother dead, she worries they won't be protected. Ash is 13 and Laeso (eventually Ozi) is 8. She's especially worried they will discover her son is Force sensitive, and send him to Korriban where he will meet the same fate as his mother.

Then she dies, never knowing what becomes of them.

Yeah. Its sad. 😥

7. What element of writing do you struggle with most?

Honestly, its realizing how much content I still need to add to a piece to put what I have together. I'm the type who takes a lot of notes about dialogue and so on. Most of the projects I actually turn into WIPs are ones where I look at the notes and say "yeah - this should be enough for an actual story." Then I'll type it all up and figure out what I need to add.

The last time I did this - for 'Apologies' - I read my first draft and realized it wasn't a draft, it was a glorified outline. And not even a GOOD outline. It need a TON of work, and emotionally, I felt like I should have been done with it already. I can more easily appreciate the difficulties of George R. R. Martin, writing thousand page novels, and struggling to produce the actual book.

The other thing is adding character actions during a dialogue. I need to constantly make sure I'm not just writing "He nodded" and "she smiled" every time a character says something.

Since you didn't specify... I'm mixing it up.

🍺 — alcohol tolerance

Quoraah Beltane was a little bit of a 'party girl' back when she was just a medical student on Balmorra. She worked and studied hard, she reasoned, so she should also get to play hard. She had a circle of friends and there were a number of clubs in Sobrik that weren't dominated by the Imperials, so there was dancing, drinking and so on.

Having said that, she was acutely aware of her own limitations, and how to pace herself. (She could also tell you what was going on with her body chemically at any given moment.) No one would have called her an alcoholic. She often looked out for her friends who didn't know their limits.

So she had a very high tolerance, but more importantly, she was aware of it.

Later she became a Sith, and learned how to use the Force to withstand the effects of alcohol. Even then, however, she knows not to over-indulge. (Partially because she didn't want to be a bad influence on Ashara, who is figuring things out.)

💰 — finance

Ozibaumnu is one of those people who are just so incredibly intelligent they can quickly figure out how to do anything. By the time he steps down from the Dark Council (more on that some other time) he has plenty of credits to "retire" on, he can afford his own island on Rishi. (This is actually the Rishi stronghold.) Surprisingly, unlike most Dark Lords, he achieved this wealth without any graft whatsoever. Everything was on the up and up.

🔧 — engineering/mechanics

Illaynah Antilles is a surprisingly adept mechanic, having learned to fix her family's hovercar as a small child. Eventually this evolves to the point where she can produce her own custom-made weapons. (She is my Armstech toon.)

Her father was good for something, after all.

💌 — romance/flirting

Bas'riish is quite the 'player' with both men and women. Remember the Teraan siblings on Alderaan? She seduced both of them. At the same time.

(Lenn and Cedonia have no regrets, but they don't really talk about that night.)
