🛑STOP SCROLLING✋ . “Believe you can and you're halfway there." . S T O R Y T I M E 🔻 R E A D 📖 . 🏊‍♂️ 🏊‍♀️ . I remember when I was 11 years of age almost drowning in a pool on a school field trip. At the time I made up my mind I won’t try learning how to swim again after that experience in front of everyone . Just about a year ago just as the new year was approaching I said to myself I was a little b**** and I have to prove to myself I can learn how to do this. Long story short it took some time and I progressed but I was still frightened to put my head under because of these visions of when I was 11. I remember trying to swim to the deeper end with a flutter board when I wasn’t quiet ready yet sometime last year. All I said inside is “ Oh s***” when I lost it so it took 3 people to help get me out! It was only about 7.5 feet deep . So each time I felt my feet touch the bottom I jumped on an angle until I could grab something and get out. “Scary experience” . In my mind as I am out I am thinking “ for f***sakes” But I said this will happen this year or never. So I went back in to the swallow end with a lifeguard to practice. . Later on that year after that experience I realize it wasn’t so bad with my head under so I tried to put my head under. From there w/ the help of @eat.lift.swim.repeat just 20 days before that year ended, could swim in the deep end in addition to anywhere else in the pool, the lesson I learned is you have to made up your mind 1000% in order to change your reality. You can’t kinda want it . Not telling this story to say I am better than anyone. I want to inspire you to take charge and know that nothing will change until you change your mindset. .
