#SUSiEcrew2015 to the rescue! ---------/////////--------- Here we had discovered at an A.palmata colony that was strangled in old rope, fishing line and plastic bags at Palmata Reef at one of the #Exumacays. It took us a decent amount of time to save them but we did! Love me some knots. ⚓️💦 This is a shot of me after we had set our duckbill anchors approximately 2 feet in the sand bed to tether these PVC arrays to the substrate to mount fragmented corals on. We needed to get these bad boys as tight to the substrate as we possibly could (as to not drift off during mad current or a bad storm) - - - - - If there's one thing that I had learned in the past several years of being a marine biologist being able to manipulate line with the right sort of knot for the job you need it to do is crucial. Too lose...you lose your things or break some stuff. Too tight you might break some more stuff. Just like a toolbox you find the right knot for the right job and for this job we used the "come along" google it peeps it's awesome. - - - - - Next to the #Bowline I think it is one of the top knots everyone should know how to use because the applications are endless.
