You’ve started to consider the creature following you as your friend.

You know the thought is deranged but you can’t quite help it. You haven’t been in your right mind since you’ve got here. Since you’ve been trapped here. Wherever here is. You’re still not sure if this is real or a nightmare or an afterlife you’ve damned yourself to.

The creature, though? This twisted, faceless thing you find scurrying around in vents and turning valves and following you around? It’s the only thing here that hasn’t actively tried to kill you. Maybe that’s the bare minimum of human decency but, one, whatever that thing is it isn’t human and, two, the bar for that here is low.

Besides, there’s no one else around and you need someone to talk to. You’d lose your sanity if you didn’t have that and, these days, you have very little of it to spare.

“Hey there,” you call to where it hides in a nearby vent, just loud enough to hear your voice over the crackle of static of your radio. “Just got back from a snack run. You hungry?”

Its head vibrates violently in all directions. You decide to interpret this as a yes.

“Found some health drinks while I was out hunting for supplies,” you say, placing the drink down by the vent opening. “And guess what else I found.”

You kneel down to hold your find out where the creature can see. It continues shaking, head twitching unnaturally and neck bending at odd angles.

“It’s bread,” you answer proudly, breaking off a piece and holding it out towards the creature. It makes no move to grab for it but it does not make any attempts to stop you when you press a piece in through the narrow slots of the vent cover. You don’t know if this thing can eat—it doesn’t have a mouth as far as you are aware—but you like to think it appreciates the sentiment. It hasn’t killed you yet, at least, so you must be doing something right.

You edge the health drink a little closer to the vent before standing up. You should get going. It’s never wise to stay in one place too long, especially when the world shifts and rots and rusts all around you.

“Well, I should go. See ya around?” you ask but it’s not really a question. You know you will. It always finds its way to you eventually.

It doesn’t follow you. Not right away, at least. You know because the static of your radio dies down with every step you take. When you look back, the health drink you left behind is gone. Satisfied that your gift has been accepted, you continue onward.

First week of actually tracking again (I tried again last year-ish and tracked a few weeks, but I ended up just deleting that data). I wrote over 6,600 words this week, all on my current sm/tiv project. That's almost twice the weekly goal I set, so definitely a good start.

I'm hoping to continue this strength and focus, at least until I get through the SM/TIV ideas I have. I have five current premises, and I want to get four of them completed. The fifth one would be a bit too long, so I just want to get it rolling.

I’ve picked up again a batfam angst fic I predict I’m about oh halfway done with. I’m usually very insistent on getting longer fics finished and beta’d before publishing but I’m feeling less fastidious about this one since it’s broken up into many small chapters. Plus I’m hopping the hanging dread of showing it to the world will encourage me to finish it.

while i imagined oostal as a world that exists Underneath the cat kingdom, which already exists kind of Underneath the real world, oostal itself also has a world under it with even looser constraints and foundations which is widely assumed to be part of the unconscious dream world. it's very difficult for most oostali inhabitants to reach On Purpose, but most don't necessarily want to visit in the first place as there's often something inherently ominous about the realm no one can put their finger on

vanya meanwhile visits quite frequently, although he'd be hard-pressed to explain exactly why he's drawn to it. he's led sirree there a few times, mostly bc some approximation of Flight is possible there, and she finds it fun. but it's very disorienting to get there and back

i use Faron as the stand in given how I wrote their character in general but since its AU, any listener ocs can be inserted. but i wanna plop out my vague ideas for what i call the “Snowglobe AU”. 

It is fully canon divergence, self-indulgent, fairytale bullshit on my part just because its fun. The AU relies solely on a lot of my own theories turned headcanons for my own oc but since its AU, even if they’re not “canonical” (whatever) it still works. 

I literally thought of this au this morning so it is still barebones but eh. Its just for fun.

So Tumblr has been showing me quite a bit of Berserk-stuff lately and I swear at least 50% of the time I‘m just like „yeah, that‘s Fulgrim and Ferrus, nothing unusual, continue scrolling“

But what’s happened now is that this has happened so often with so many shows, that Netflix has created a self-fulfilling loop with many series that probably could have gone on to become valuable catalogue additions otherwise.

The idea is that since you know that Netflix cancels so many shows after one or two seasons, ending them on cliffhangers and leaving their storylines unfinished, it’s almost not worth investing in a show until it’s already ended, and you know it’s going to have a coherent ending and finished arc.

So you hold off watching new shows, even ones you might otherwise be interested in, because you’re afraid Netflix will cancel them. Enough people do this and surprise, viewership is low! And the show ends up cancelled. The loop is closed, and reinforced, because now there’s yet another example cited, causing even more people to be cautious the next time around. And now we’ve reached a point where unless a series is some sort of record-breaking fluke megahit (Wednesday) or established super franchise (Stranger Things), a second or third season feels like not even a coinflip, but more like 10-20% shot, at best.

Netflix’s cancelation policies have informed its viewers that if you want a show you like renewed, you need to watch it immediately, you need to tell all your friends to watch it immediately, and you need to finish all episodes in a short period of time. Anything less than that will result in likely cancelation, with the problem being, of course, that this runs contrary to the entire promise of a streaming service like Netflix in the first place. The core concept of “on demand” streaming was that ability to watch what you wanted, when you wanted to. But now binging a series in its opening weekend isn’t just an option to have, it feels almost mandatory, lest the negative data reflect poorly on a show you might otherwise like.

Something has broken with this model. It’s now created a system where creators should be afraid to make a series that dares to end on a cliffhanger or save anything for future seasons, lest their story forever be left unfinished. And viewers are afraid to commit to any show that isn’t a completely aired package lest they spend 10-30 hours on something that ends up unresolved, which has happened dozens and dozens of times, creating a vast “show graveyard” within Netflix, full of landmines viewers are going to be discovering for years.

I imagine Kaycee was mainly in charge of Grimora's and maybe partly Leshy's development, and while she was familiar with the other Scrybes' gameplay, she wasn't too good at playing them

May be lore inaccurate as ik Kaycee is a card gamer nerd, but even pros take Ls sometimes :p

I saw that they updated the mod a couple of months ago so I played it and I got dragged back to a mini Inscryption brainrot again lol- See, brainrots don't die, they lay dormant until they take over your life again asldkfjasdlf

Anyways, the mod's super fun and it consumed my life for a couple of days!! Also idk if they balanced the mod more or if I just got really lucky but I have more success in finishing runs compared to 2 yrs ago where it took abt a week for me to finish ONE run WITHOUT challenges;; regardless, I enjoyed the new additions to the mod :3

I made a post following this same swap AU idea almost 2 years ago, but I felt compelled to put a little bit more effort this time. I didn't take this too seriously so there may be some handwaving in regards to like, the canon because I have a headache trying to follow it too much lmao

but P03 and Kaycee are my faves, so im just having fun making this silly comic :^]
