Apparently the preview for HZ065 implies that Amethio will tell something to Liko... possibly a big reveal.

I do wonder if the two will manage to somehow bond over this cave-in situation. Like understand each other better. Thou I very much find it funny that this same situation happened with Amethio and Friede and it got brushed off and skipped lol. Glad that ain't the case here!

IFTTT Tumblr Service Update

Tumblr no longer supports the "legacy" version of their service on IFTTT, so I've had to update all my IFTTT applets to the newer version. Unfortunately that newer version doesn't allow HTML or links in Text Posts at this time, nor does it have a way to add captions to Link Posts.

Hopefully there will be updates in the future, but in the meantime posts will all be "Link Posts" without captions. Sorry for any trouble this may cause!

I dunno what this year was

It was definitely a work-life-emotional wellbeing-art balancing act. But I learned a lot from it! I made a mini-zine, kinda got back into doing a little bit of merch stuff, and I've been working on a bigger project!

Going into 2024, I hope I can go back to being more comfortable with drawing smaller things here and there that don't necessarily even need to get posted and maybe just... less ginormous comics.

But until then, we continue to manage the vibes.

omg... please may I know more abt bb playing L in ur tv show au 🫴 (no pressure, I just saw ur tags and I'm so intriguied :3)

aaaa yes!! i'm not gonna give away the WHOLE THING yet (i have over a thousand words of pre-planning notes that WILL magically be turned into a fic sooner or later), but i can definitely tell you about the premise!

so, basically - a few establishing notes:

BB survives. he's let out on probation post-canon for being on good behaviour; near pulls some strings and makes sure he's kept a close eye on.

he does this by putting him with mello and matt, who also survive the events of death note. don't worry about how. the important part is that mello's the only one left who heard about BB directly from L himself, and mello can't really argue with that logic, especially with near saying mello is better suited for something than him.

mello publishes a book about the kira case because he strongly disagrees with near about keeping things under wraps. letting light yagami be remembered as a good boy and kira as a martyr to his followers? nahhh. let the world see the man behind the "divine justice" for the charming snake he was, and let kira's followers see exactly how human their god was. some details are edited, of course, but it's largely a factual account of the case where it's clearly stated when aliases are used to protect the privacy of affected people. even a lot of details about L are released, because mello wants the original L to be remembered properly, not be tucked under light's and near's asses as though there was never a difference. near doesn't agree with mello, but he doesn't stop him, either, as long as he gets to approve the final draft before release.

the book becomes an absolute bestseller, obviously. everyone wants to know the real story of the battle between kira and L. before long, directors and movie studios clamor for mello's attention, wanting to sign deals for the rights to make a movie or tv show based on his retelling of events.

obviously, they need actors for the tv show mello agrees to sign with. hideki ryuga's the director's top choice for light, not just because of the resemblance, but the fact that he's local to tokyo and the bonus of his name coming up as an alias used by L himself - it's perfect. recognizing that mello is really, really picky about the casting for L, though, the director lets mello sit in on the casting for that role.

no force in the world (matt) could possibly have kept BB from making it to the audition.

mello has little choice but to admit that yeah, okay, going for accuracy, applicant rue ryuzaki is unfortunately the best casting choice among the options. he is also one of mello's roommates and a nightmare to work with-- yeah, the director's already got him signing the contracts, sure, whatever.

BB is absolutely gleeful.

he is also, in fact, a nightmare to work with.

hideki ryuga, his co-star, puts up with him. so does misa amane (playing the role of misa amane). everyone else is desperately unsettled by his method acting ass.

in an attempt to bond, hideki takes BB out to party. while the night is a bit of a mess, they do at least get absolutely schwasted in the end. sensing weakness, BB pounces to ask the question that's been burning in his mind ever since he heard about hideki ryuga being an alias of L's.

L doesn't just use other people's names. he takes them as trophies. he defeats them first.

oh, yeah, a very drunk hideki ryuga confirms. yeah, i did encounter the guy, actually.

hideki ryuga does not realize in the slightest at this point that the perpetrator of the los angeles BB killings has just decided he is now the most interesting person around he can hyperfocus on.

I just want you all to know that Matt’s upcoming phone call to Jane is hilarious (for us, not him) because from Matt’s perspective it’s just Matt snarling and in devil mode: “what are you doing, you’re in danger, I can feel it, where are you-“ Jane: “What are YOU doing?! You should be in court! Everything is fine!” Gunnar, bellowing: “Ich hätte gerne vier Laugenbrötchen!” Peter: “YOU WANT A PRETZEL CART I’LL SHOW YOU A PRETZEL CART, BUDDY!” *crash banging* Jane: “IF YOU HIT THAT SNAKE OR AL CAPONY, YOU’RE BOTH OUT 5K I SWEAR TO GOD” Daniel: “WHY DID I COME TO NEW YORK” Matt: “WHAT IS GOING ON“ Jane: “that’s just spiderman, a large Norwegian friend, and a 5-thousand dollar hognose snake me and daniel found, anyway I have to go, do well in court, love you bye” Matt: “don’t you DARE hang up on me-” *click*

When he wasn’t sleeping, the humans held meals with him. Unperturbed by his stubborn silence, they would chatter on just as much as they had back when he’d taken refuge under their floorboards, the thread of conversation frequently derailed by quips and rambling anecdotes.

He thought he had figured it out after that first night, between the food he’d assumed was drugged and the sting of the silverware in his grip— not pure silver, but close enough to burn.

But he’d only felt more and more clear-headed as time passed, and the moment one of them had noticed his fingers spasming around a fork, they’d all kicked up a fuss and instantly swapped the silver utensils out for carefully carved wooden ones.

It was his own fault, in the end.

He’d leapt at the chance to work on a big SlireCorp facility, relishing the opportunity for employment in his field and a hefty paycheck. Sure, it was an awfully long way from any other inhabited planets, and even longer from his home or anyone he knew, but that was just a part of the dedicated security measures they had to deter any corporate espionage!

If he’d known then what sort of work they actually did, he wouldn’t have set even a single claw onboard their blighted transit vessel, let alone agreed to live at their physical on-planet facility.

Of course, by the time he found out, it was already too late.

Anx hadn’t really believed the hunters about the whole ‘protecting the innocents’ thing.

Sure, he believed they believed it, but that didn’t necessarily make it true. There were all sorts of ways to ‘save’ someone, and there were all sorts of reasons to deem someone guilty instead of innocent. Especially if that someone happened to be a monster.

Hunters were hunters. They could try and use pretty words to conceal the truth of their occupation all they wanted, but it wouldn’t fool Anx.

They’d realize he couldn’t give them what they wanted soon enough, and then he’d be fair game; subject to however they actually treated the other vamps they ran into.

That’s what he’d thought, anyhow.

Bewilderingly, Roman was now in the possession of a sword.

He’d been dumbfounded when the demand had been accepted, so certain in requesting it that he’d finally found a hole in the too-good-to-be-true arrangement that Logan had been presenting.

It didn’t count as an actual deal, he had told himself. Obviously, the human wouldn’t actually give his captive a hand-crafted weapon, which meant he wasn’t planning on fulfilling his end of the deal.

Thus, Roman was under no obligation to stick to the terms, and could make his grand escape without besmirching his honor!

Just over a week later, there was a sword hilt in his hand and a considerable amount of screaming in his head.

Had he really just signed himself up for a heaping helping of Stockholm Syndrome, all for the sake of a sword?

… Admittedly, it was a really nice sword.

Janus managed to bite three different people before they finally pinned him in one place long enough to force the makeshift muzzle over his head.

He didn’t regret it, persay, but the little victory would have been far more gratifying if he hadn’t gotten his head slammed into a wall hard enough to make him see stars right afterwards.

If it weren’t for the cobbled-together gag, he would have started swearing. It was already extremely unlikely that he’d make it out of this particular clusterfuck unscathed, and seeing double certainly wasn’t going to improve his odds.

I wanted to get Only One Ending Ch 4 out tomorrow to keep up with '2nd Saturday of the month' but I only have like 1.2K words (aka not that much), but will also be spending the night on the floor with my sick dog so still might get it out this weekend.

I guess a summary preview: First half is the last two chapters recap from Tim POV and some of his thoughts, and then second half will probably switch back to Danny and a plausible reason for them to be stuck together long enough to have some relationship (neg) development

I'm still recapping with Tim so....meat of the chapter is what's missing and it's also a part I really don't want to rush through so gonna take some time still

It’s been one year and some change since Tony planned to introduce Spider-Man to the world, and instead put a ring on the finger of the capable, qualified, trustworthy Pepper Potts. One year and some change later, and the invitations have finally gone out.

“You are cordially invited to the wedding of Ms. Virginia Potts and Mr. Anthony E. Stark.”

Meanwhile, Peter’s never been more excited to have an invitation to something in his entire young life — and he and Ned once got invited to spend the day at NASA. Nope, Mr. Stark’s wedding easily topped that. Heck, he may be more excited for the wedding than anyone else, including the bride herself. After the crazy year they all had, it felt good to finally have something good happen.

Nothing was going to mess this up, everything was going to go off without a hitch — Peter would make sure of it. He just had to handle the rings.

Wait, the rings. Crap, the rings! Where’d he put the rings? All he had to do was find the rings, and then everything would go off without a hitch. Absolutely nothing could go wrong with him trying to find the rings, right?

This wedding was going to be perfect.

(Or: Tony swears that the universe is out to keep him and Pepper from tying the knot while Peter’s having a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. Seriously, who let Norman Osborn into the church?)

Tellius week is coming up! I've never written something for every day of an event, so I'm excited about this one. I've delved into characters I've never written, and tried some new styles. So, in childish excitement, I present previews of what's to come, with their prompts:

Day 4 - A Grave Fate Bloodlines Stumbling upon some ruins in the desert, Stefan is determined to learn of their origins and what it might mean for his kind.

Day 5 - A Gathering of Storms The Goddess and the Evil One Once upon a time, there was a goddess who loved the world, and a goddess that did not.

Day 6 - Abominable Memory Blood on Her Hands Meg returns home after the war, but can't forget everything she's seen.
