It's true that there's no practicable way to frame "style theft" as an intellectual property issue that wouldn't have horrifying consequences for independent artist, but that doesn't mean we can't have sympathy for all the artists who've spent their lives perfecting the craft of drawing moist-lipped, glassy-eyed, vaguely oily-looking anime girls in three-quarter profile and now everybody thinks they're a robot.

ROTTMNT: Intellectuals AU
Kay with the random AU posting (again)
That episode where Raph, Mikey, and Leo become smarter than Don due to hijinks except it’s a whole AU where they were born smarter, with a reverse on ninpo and tech use
Tumblr media
Raph, due to being the eldest and strongest, follows Splints into mechanics. Leo adores space (Jupiter Jim) and studies to become an astronaut. Mikey is.. well he’s pretty smart emotionally already so there’s not much difference besides knowing more psychological terms lmao.
Don on the other hand is.. unlucky so to speak. Still a prodigy, but has to work a loooot harder than his brothers. Having lost his passion in tech due to a severe inferiority complex, he’s the only one to pickup a ninpo weapon and explore the world of magic in a hands-on lens. Still loves tech and studies theory, just doesn’t have the motivation.

“I got you kiddo”

I hope season 5 is treating you as well as it treated me
Animation process under the cut!
Let’s all begin by thanking @meggalice for inspiring me with her beautiful LMK sketches ♥️
Boards (the timing of these was changed a lot, for instance there’s a much longer pause on the moment Wukong catches MK in the final version, instead of being one flat flow like this)
Tumblr media
Lines, without the flowy bits
Final, slowed down at 12 fps
Tumblr media
Wow you reached the bottom, lets have a chat. How you doing? Me? I finished my first 3 exams this summer, later on i got another one and then it’s graduation time 💃
About LMK, go show season 5 more love!!! The animation team at Wild Brain deserves all the kudos, for real they created a miracl
Now leave this post better than you found it
Day 1 of animating Flying Bark series until they hire me

Disability Pride month let's not forget about the people in our community with intellectual disabilities!
I just found out about the Stay Up Late campaign to advocate for people with intellectual disabilities to have the right to go out in the evening and not have to be in bed by 8pm
I learned about it from this video:
And I found the website for the campaign which is here:
Let's support all members of our community

don't see that many positivity posts for folks who are intellectually disabled/deal with a learning disability. we are cool. we matter alot and we are definitely worthy of love and attention. it's hard when the world jokes about us at every chance, either through peers, or media itself subtly or not. just remember we are important and loved.

something about most of the americans who post about the 'shitty educational system making them think there are no cities in mexico' or something is that, on a deep level, they enjoy & revel in their ignorance, their incuriosity. they share the same bombastic and self-congratulatory anti-intellectualism as any trump-voting uncle, except enjoy couching it in the auspices of [white] queerness & disability.
i am white (more or less) and queer and disabled & attended shitty schools in de facto segregated areas, i have encountered these ppl all my life, and what has always struck me as bizarre and embarrassing is the sheer ease with which alternate forms of info were accessible. all you needed was an internet connection, which we almost uniformly had. i found information about whiteness & intersectionality & colonialism & empire as a preteen through blogs and tumblr and other social media, and when i got older, followed my curiosity to actual books on these topics and more. it did not require anything exceptional, or even a higher education.
people know these resources are there. they know how to find them, in no more clicks than it takes to get to their favorite show or fanfic or whatever. but the discomfort that encountering new info requires, the embrace of the unknown, the genuine intellectual & emotional engagement with difference and friction, is something that they deep down know that "we" (in the global north/west) have the privilege to refuse. and there is a horrible "pleasure" in that refusal, that knowledge that one is permited to know nothing and still have the world at one's feet. it is despicable and inexcusable, and i'm glad it is getting vocally called out.

Some people say that in order to be effective, post-apocalyptic fiction needs to strike a balance between having the cause of the apocalypse reflect contemporary anxieties, and framing that cause in a way that's at least somewhat plausible. These people are cowards. Write that story where the extinction of the human species was caused by overzealous copyright enforcement. You know you want to.

boy it would be nice to be able to google something related to personality disorders, psychosis, intellectual disabilities, autism, DID/OSDD, etcetera without finding majority articles that are like “how to deal with a person with X” “how to cope with your child with X” “how to spot someone faking X” “can people with X be cured?”

“Don’t let your disorder define you”
Okay but do you support the people whose disorders do define them?
Do you support people with the chronic illnesses who have had to develop whole lives around their conditions? Do you support the intellectually disabled people whose whole way of thinking is defined by their disorder? Do you support the people with personality disorders who literally have a disorder as a personality? Do you support the autism/ADHD people whose disorder you can’t separate from who they are? Do you support the DIDOSDD people who have multiple definitions of themselves because of their disorder?
Or are you just saying that because a disorder defining someone means you can’t ignore it.

I think the topic of consent is very important, and I think as an intellectually disabled person, it’s even more important to talk about what I was taught, and what my mom did.
My mom, who was a single woman at the time, explicitly taught me about consent. Why? Because she knew that I, as an intellectually disabled person and autistic person, needed to know it. And it needed to be drilled into my head the importance of consent. Not only did she teach me this, but she taught me how to communicate to trusted people if something happened. She knew that if she didn’t, the chances of me not knowing, or not understanding certain aspects of consent and sex in general, would be profoundly higher than my peers.
She noticed, she did the research, she taught and did what she could. And I am forever grateful for that. Intellectually disabled people, who have a higher rate of things happening to them and being abused, NEED to be taught about sex education, consent, and how to communicate if something were to happen. We are at a much higher rate of being sexually abused than our peers. And it is so so important that these things are taught to us so we are aware and able to protect ourselves and know when it’s time to contact a trusted adult.

"I spent the majority of 2016 with another person" is soooo funny to me because it sounds like phil is excitedly announcing a shiny new boyfriend he made in 2016 but no everyone cheer it's the same boytoy he's had for 7 years at that point

the funniest thing about tumblr fandoms for good well-made thought out media is seeing people point shit out while saying "i know its not that deep but-" girl it literally is. sometimes good writers will make the curtains blue on purpose to symbolize something. you are analyzing and interpreting bro
