oh god i only watch edited youtube videos from streamers so my knowledge in the area is very limited but um.

i think beth would stream herself designing homes in the sims (pretty sure i've seen clips of these sisters doing that and beth is canonically into arts and crafts so it seems like something she'd be into).

lindsay katie and sadie would LOVE dress to impress, not sure lindsay would stream but i could see katie and sadie doing it.

i could also see maybe dj doing cooking streams?? i think people do that??

Me personally I think reader should have some kinda mutation that allows them to copy other mutations or a time/dimension jump one so it could be revealed that oops! reader accidentally sent all of them away! And cause some big feelings in the yans, like they want to blame reader for what happened but they still love them so dearly and it wouldn’t be fair to reader who is still learning and growing their powers to be solely blamed, or it’s a wrong place wrong time type thing where reader and one of the teens powers interact in such a way that they get sent to where ever they are/stuck in the time stream a la batman the return of Bruce Wayne

That is a good idea, Spino Anon! It's really creative! I don't know if that's how I will write the au, but you have given me a thought or two on how to explain the four teens ending up in the dark future/au. I hope you are doing alright! I think as a treat, I can do a few headcanons I have for the Dark AU.... Let's do it:

• I headcanon that for the Dark AU, it's set in a reboot-esque au of X-Men Evolution, so things are mostly the same, but a little different. Such as more found family dynamics and less trying to toss children and rivals off of cliffs ( it's a reboot/retelling/reimagining due to platonic yandere stuff/adding Reader/adding more adventures/wanting to rewrite certain scenes/wanting to add further to it/etc.)

• Reader is a friend to both groups of teens, and likely joined one, if not both, at some point

• Reader took care of the others a lot. Reminding them to eat (mostly the adults for that, plus a handful of the teens, Reader would also make dinner/breakfast/snacks/treats for the platonic yans, maybe teaching a teen or two how to cook)... making art and craft projects for them (such as handmade scarves or stuffed animals, friendship bracelets and best friend necklaces, even full canvas paintings and notebooks full of sketches and drawings)... having small (platonic) dates where Reader does something they (the teen/s or adult/s) want to do, but can't do with the others or that doesn't interest the others... Reader was the sort to toss a blanket around someone if they fell asleep on the couch, made coffee or hot chocolate in the mornings/nights when it was cold, just trying to keep their friends family happy and cared for

• Reader was friends and still is in this au with the other teens who had the bad thing happen to them (being Kurt, Kitty, and Pietro). Probably was the one who played it straight between the four, still a bit more light-hearted and joking, but more toned down. I am undecided if Reader is the same age, older, or younger than them

• When the bad thing happens, let's just say the remaining X-Men and Brotherhood kinda... lost it. I mentioned before a person or multiple persons was behind what happened, but I never went into full detail on what it might have been. Whatever it was (no spoilers yet!) led the platonic yans to believe that they were dead, and that it wasn't quick or painless. They know it wasn't an accident. So they go mad with grief, in a way. They take vengeance on those who caused it, more-or-less send a message out warning what happens if anyone targets their loved ones, and (maybe?) take control over the world... Or at least parts of New York and Canada...

• The platonic yans become more... dark. If they were holding their punches before... they aren't now. They become ruthless when dealing with enemies, they learn new skills and tricks and tactics, they aren't going to let the same thing that happened in the past happen now

• I imagine that it's somewhere between three to five years before Reader and the others end up in the future/au, and they are still wounded from what happened. The worst of their wounds healed up enough, but not everything else, so they aren't as quick or as fast as they want to be when moving through the changed world around them

• When they are found to be alive and are confirmed to be the Dark AU platonic yans kids/friends/siblings, the platonic yans are hunting them down as fast as they can. They don't want them to disappear, they don't want them to die, and they aren't about to have them ripped away from them again. Even if it means they have to keep them under house arrest or sedated or otherwise...

Nikki's Birthday Live Stream!

Well, Shiny Designers, the Glitter of Wishes live stream has come to an end. And, wow, has it been a treat!

In case you missed it, here's the full itinerary:

A sweet Momo montage! Our favorite kitty gets a new song! Of course he mentions food in it lol

And we get a cute animation sequence of Nikki finding Momo practicing a dance in secret. Who knew Momo was so skilled?

Now, we get into the main part of the live stream. After greeting us, Nikki and Momo have a memory notebook that contains well wishes and gifts from across Miraland... and even from real life!

We visit Cloud Empire first, where the game devs filmed a stunning display of molten iron fireworks! They spent a whole day finding the perfect spot, setting up the smithing tools, and then setting off brilliant sparks. They were incredible to watch!

And then, the first round of giveaways: 12 lucky people will get 12 Sea of Fantasy tickets and 1206 pink gems. (Get it? 12/06 is Nikki's birthday.)

Off to Pigeon Kingdom afterward! A short and cute stop-motion sequence made of clay and felt shows Nikki and Momo having fun with arts and crafts. I wonder how long it took the animators to move the figures frame by frame? Nevertheless, it looks amazing!

The next giveaway code is PIGEONKINGDOM, and it will give 2888 to 5 stylists.

Third stop on our journey is Wasteland, and it offers the most gifts! First, we get Letters from Wasteland, where Vivian, Jiang Beixi, Zoey, Tess, Yisu, and even Queen Hester share memories and wishes for Nikki.

And then, we get a second dance, this time of Nikki in her standard SN dress, the Voice of Desire suit, and the Bloom Up suit as three versions of her dance to Bloom Up! It's all so cute! ^_^

Lastly, we get a quick animation sequence of Momo and his hamster friend grilling (and fighting over) steak. Nikki saves the day in a very sweet way.

Before we go to Ninir Kingdom, the third round of giveaways starts, with the code NINIRKINGDOM offering 5888 pink gems for 2 lucky stylists.

Now in Ninir, we get a glimpse of Nikki's birthday outfit! It's a lovely pink fireworks-themed dress, complete with a crown. You can check out OrangeCatty's blog here for a video and full rundown.

And we get to see our next event: the second Sanrio collab, this time with Kuromi and Pompompurin! Who else can't wait for the adorable animal friends?

But guess what is a bigger surprise? Real gamers voicing their wishes for Nikki! I recognized only a couple, but it was still so cool to see how many people the devs reached out to make this live stream even sweeter.

S5E7 "Hybrid Creatures" thoughts

I'm kinda used to the writers putting Nadja in situations and see what it sticks, but (un)holy shit its so obvious that they don't know what to do with her character. What we do in the shadows learn how to write women challenge.

I don't know if the Guide even appeared. My stream stopped a couple times and I have to refresh so maybe I missed her (if not see previous point because it also applies to her).

LOVED Nadja's kitty hair buns, love to see that at least the hair and costume department still cares about her.

The line about burning the school made me roll my eyes, not only because that story doesn't make sense with what we learned about her childhood, but also because I can FEEL when tv shows throw lines with the specific expectations of them being gifed, become memes, etc.

I know it's stupid to discuss about the ethics of Laszlo's experiments on the dick and balls show but in this episode I was all 😬😬😬 about it. Like, I don't give a shit if it was done with comedy purposes, animal experimentation is one of the subjects I will never find remotely funny or make jokes with, specially if we start thinking... How much consent Guillermo gave for Laszlo to straight up play with his DNA in this way? He has nothing to say about it except for a confused frown or looking panicky at the sight of the creatures?? More important, if Nandor did this exact same thing the past season and created the hybrids with a Djinn wish or whatever, how would the fandom have reacted??? (spoiler: waaay more angered than when everybody's fave Laszlo does it).

The work of puppetry and digital effects was good as always, nothing bad to say about the team behind the cameras that puts all their hard work and craft on this, sadly, mid storyline.

Despite how little I care about mAd ScIenTiSt Lazslo plot, the moment when Guillermo believes he won't help him anymore was truly heartbreaking just by looking at his face. You can see he really has all his hopes in Laszlo finding a 'cure'.

I wish the whole thing about Guillermo being incapable of killing the hybrids hit me harder (as if we didn't saw him luring innocent teenagers so they can get killed in the literal pilot).

Sorry but that lady character didn't work for me and the "Helen the Magic Johnson" joke was unfunny and kinda old :/ i wonder if half of the wwdits fandom even got the reference (also lmao shameless product placement, you can tell they needed the money to pay for the cgi used on the creatures).

Colin was like his season 1 self. I bet the wwdits reddit ate up that shit.

See also: Laszlo calling Guillermo 'Gizmo' again. Hated it.

Colin becoming the stereotypical 'cool' white liberal teacher was hilarious specially when he said the cliché "history is written by the oppressors" line because that's where the parody becomes too obvious. This is the guy whose dna results on s1 were "100% white" after all. AND YET some people here are still celebrating and repeating it as this 'so true bestie 😔✊' moment without realizing the show's laughing at you, not with you. But hey, this is the we don't get satire even if it bites on our ass site. Imagine fans celebrating when Kendall Succession shouted "fuck the patriarchy!" in front of the paparazzi for being a #feminist. That's how wooosh the moment went over some of y'alls heads.

Nandor and Colin at the museum felt a little tackled on, but at least Nandor annoyance at his personal items being displayed was fun.

And Colin being friendly (dare I say…sweet?) with him at the end again gave me a happy smile. I'll never guessed this season was all about the Colin and Nandor (Condor??) era but I'm all for it.

Biggest Mild laugh of the night: Nandor mannequin having male and female lovers on the display, the dude is wearing Calvin Kleins!

I can't say much about Guillermo leaving the hybrids at the senior home because it's a overused ending for wwdits at this point. Seriously, when this show doesn't know how to end an episode they always do the same shit: Leave the characters that are a problem in a different place. It happened with: Topher at the zombie sweatshop, Jim the vampire as the volleyball coach in Tucson, familiar Benji in a different city/state (forgot where), The Baron and the Sire in the countryside, Derek working at Sean's MLM, Freddie!Marwa in the Uk. They have done this ending 👏🏼lots 👏🏼 of 👏🏼 times👏🏼already!!

Having a wank?! The setup and payoff for this joke really worked.

Like I tried listening to the EP a couple months ago and I had to turn it off because it made me remember/feel that same depression I felt in 2020, which is so annoying cause both the EP and the song are really good LMAO but they're just. permanently upsetting pieces of music.

There's a difference between them and music that just makes me kinda sad/melancholic. Like, Headaches by Carly Cosgrove will make me tear up, and Class of 2013 by Mitski will make me cry. But HKSTTFC is in my minds "Do Not Play" playlist (not that I would actually make it into a playlist I could access at any time). Under no circumstances am I allowed to listen to it. It's a shame I have to do that with CCTV too :(.

Okay, streaming wishlist/checklist so far:

Playlist track info bar (since I have confirmation now that vg music is basically safe)

Follower and Subscriber notification sounds (thinking Ghaleon's coming out party speech and "My, haven't you been busy beavers.")

Also gotta make custom gifs for those notifs

Custom chat text-to-speech bots >:3c (definitely John Truitt as Ghaleon, and maybe John Rhys-Davies' narrator voice from QfG4... oohh Jonathan Frid's Barnabas Collins would also be fun & probably make a very robust TTS, since they made him talk A LOT on Dark Shadows... XD OH. GRAYSON HALL AS JULIA HOFFMAN!!!!! ///OuO/// Though of course harvesting sound bytes would take awhile. So I'll probably start off with the easiest(???), which would be Ghaleon, since the volume of voiced lines available is pretty small/less overwhelming.)

Longer-term wishlist/goals:

Eventually get a longer, L-shaped desk so it's more comfortable to switch between drawing and gaming, plus hopefully allow for more cat-lounging space

Get a better tablet stand/articulated arm....

Sew my frankensteinian seat cushion together/to my chair, so I don't have to keep readjusting the damn things. With extra stuffing/batting.

Continue to research better office chairs tho.

Eventually get a capture card so I can play console games from the comfort of my couch hahaha

Or possibly set up a kitty webcam?? :3c

Also, physical crafts cam would be great.

Eventually upgrade pc game controller from 20 year old Logitech PS2-style controller to something with a few more programmable buttons

Eventually get a better mic/headset?

Eventually get a new monitor, maybe sooner than later since current one is developing... quirks. Also it'd be nice to get a matched pair or double length monitor in order to fit all the streaming backend stuff. My current monitor is Itty-bitty.

I actually think I have a pretty healthy system for how to balance this, and so I'm going to share that. You can balance this however you want, personally I am very news and politics focused, so I am pretty frequently reading the news, but you do you. Anyway:

You should be cutting out constant streams of news content from your socials, and instead finding time to actually read/listen to the news.

It is not healthy to be scrolling through a constantly shifting feed of kitty cats, memes, and horrifying stories of oppression and death. I think this is what really gets to people. You start to feel like you can't let your guard down online, you fall into rage bait content, or you just see a barrage of uninformed opinions crafted specifically to make you mad and drive engagement. Like, no wonder people are burnt out on the news. Even when it is well-presented news, it still shouldn't be in a space mostly used for fun.

I recommend if you struggle with this balance to scroll past stuff you can't currently engage with or unfollow accounts and block out forums that stress you out.

BUT it is still so so important to be informed, like you do have to do some work to be a good member of a society, so if you do this you need to set aside some time for reading the news from reputable sources. But being able to separate these activities and engage with news at a pace you can control can really do wonders for your mental health. Just my two cents.

I'm going to stress this again: It does not make you a bad person for taking breaks from the news cycle.

Other blogs have made posts highlighting the important of taking such breaks, and people in the notes argue that doing so is a privilege and you should feel guilty for it. You should not. Please, please take care of yourselves.

Mental health is a serious issue. Humans are not meant to receive a constant stream of horrific news. Please, if you see someone taking a break, posting about other things like shows that make them happy, please don't try to drag them down. The last thing the world needs right now is more negativity.

Please respect that some people need a break from these things and show kindness to them. Don't contribute to the hate and negativity flooding everything.

Please, don't get so caught up in everything you trample others walking the same path.

Be kind, be respectful, be understanding. Don't guilt mentally ill people during times like these, because speaking from personal experience, many of us already feel guilty enough for needing to step back.
