What are your HC for the main gangs odd quirks?

I have quite a few! More than I can list in one ask! But here is a few:

Tord has a lot of harm-seeking stims (specifically biting, hair pulling, picking at their eyes)

Generally they have a detachment from pain, but the explanation for that would probably take a whole other post

And, kinda basic, but Tord has a big interest in anything inhuman/monstrous. They especially take notice of these features on Matt and Tom

Though that stems from the dissociation they have from their own humanity, but again, whole other post

Tom is a strange one, because he goes from chill guy who you'd meet at the bar to absolute gremlin at the flip of a coin. He especially has a strange way of showing affection. He tends to be fairly physical with his loved ones, "play fighting" so to speak. He also bites, a lot

Tom also likes eating a lot of things that he shouldn't. He particularly likes hard and "crunchy" items. Rocks, crystals, glass, etc are his go to's. But he has consumed the stray bug or squirrel

A lot of Edd's stem from poor hygiene/self care. A big one his him forgetting (and refusing) to take off his binder, even when he has worn it too long. On a related note, he barely washes his hoodie, wearing it way more than it should be worn.

On a lighter note, I like to imagine that Edd is a cat magnate. His roommates had to go on walks with him to prevent him from coming home with 10 stray cats to adopt.

As for Matt,

Uh..Matt is perfect without any "quirks" or "flaws"

why do you think tom and matt decided to join the red army? I mean I suppose they might’ve been forced to an extent but thats not really explained. Edd of course wouldn’t have joined,i feel hes a bit more head strong especially when it comes to his cola,do you think he may have tried to asked tom and matt for help and they either declined or tord got to them first? I like analyzing that ep,probably more than i should but there are alot of possibilities

I kinda feel like tom and matt tried to get edd to join for his own good,probably would’ve worked under different circumstances but edd and his cola are inseparable

i think matt was the first to 'join' the red army. he was attracted to the resources they have. "look at how nice the rooms are!! the bathrooms... so luxurious!! and free food?... did you see the health care they provide? i could finally get my eye checked out" tord didn't really have to convince him much. and tom followed matt. i mean it was either that or stay with edd in a filthy shed with 1000 hoarded cola cans and a bunch of stray cats. neither matt nor tom really gave a shit about the whole cola issue... seriously man just drink something else..

my version of wtfuture matt isnt exactly part of the red army. early on tord got an inkling that allowing matt to handle weaponry isnt the best idea. matt is just a citizen of the red state. military service isnt required to join. he clashes with tord a lot on environmental conservation. and he's the curator of his own government funded aquarium! he's more interested in the quality of life for the average citizen. matts the only reason why they have parks and the like. he likes to tag along on toms fetch quests, which is about as involved in politics as he gets besides the environmental activism

they both did try to convince edd to stop being a maniac. the world changed suck it up. edd doesnt care about the government or anything like that. he has no political convictions. he only cares about the food regulations that got his diabetes speed run juice outlawed. so there really wasnt any luck with getting him to join the army or even just become a citizen

Edd

Mmm starting off with the leader of the bunch

Edd is probably the mom of the friend group, regardless of how silly he can be and how he seems as if he doesn’t really care for the others he truly does, he isn’t as observant of the others like Tom is yet when he realizes something is up with his friend(s) he’ll be quick to jump in and help.

Great cook honestly, ESPECIALLY when one of the three are sick, his soups are absolutely amazing!! He enjoys cooking as a hobby, it’s just an extra skin he’d picked up over the years of living with the gang, considering when they all first moved in together the only one who could cook was Tord. Later on he taught Edd and they both just became the chefs on then family

He probably does art and animation commissions for money, it is surprisingly enough to pay for his quarter of the rent. Though, Tord has to practically drag him off of his PC, iPad, or pry him off of his sketch book because he’s too engulfed with his work.

Cat lover ofc, he had gotten Ringo as a gift from Tom in their highschool years, Tom found a stray kitten on the streets, and despite how much he adores them he was considerate and gave Edd the tiny Ringo instead!

Super good at board games, Matt refuses to play with him any board game because he’s convinced that whenever they do play Edd always somehow ‘cheats’ , not true, he is just naturally good at board games lol

He’s a really sweaty man, he has great hygiene, it’s just he’s always so damn hot and he just can’t help but sweat a lot, luckily he doesn’t really smell like anything particular ——————————————————————

Matt

He has a skull collection, of course the other don’t know about this because they don’t bother to check his cluster of a attic. But he cares about all his skulls he has collected over the years and polishes them while keeping them in the best conditions possible

Probably played the drums in highschool, Tom had actually convinced him to do so. Even if he was reluctant he actually really enjoyed it!! He owns a drum set now and of course it’s up in his attic. Yet he can’t play it all the time due to the racket it’d create.

He’s tall and lean, despite his good looks he’s actually kinda insecure lol, his friends complementing him is a ego boost tbh..long skin care routine and loves dressing up!! It doesn’t matter the style. He’s willing to try anything!!

He loves baking, especially loves baking sweets and desserts from other cultures. He finds all the new recipes unique and different, he likes different. You’ll typically find him baking with Tord, since- Tord likes baking as well. Tord actually lended Matt some of his Norwegian cookie recipes :3

He has a scrapbook and just a regular journal to jot down things, both gifted from edd to help with his memory issues. He also has a photo album for all the photos he/or the others have taken during adventures they’ve went on together!!

He works at a antique shop, while he makes the least money out of the gang, he still manages lol; he chose career over finance which is totally valid!! :D

He has a secret fixation to mythical creatures and stories. The only other one that really knows about it is Tom, because Tom is very much willing to listen to Matt ramble about all these silly creatures. Tom may not admit it but he enjoys hearing his pal get so excited and ramble over the topic-

He sadly can’t be trusted with having pets- since he has shit memories he’ll probably forget to feed them. He isn’t responsible enough for a cat or a dog, maybe a fish, but it’ll probably die quick- ——————————————————————

Tord

He has a pet snake. A gift from Paul and Pat from when he decided to move out and move in with the three, he absolutely adores her and probably walks around the house/lounges around with her out and about on him. Surprisingly he is good at keeping things he owns in order and knows where she is at all times

He makes the most money out of everyone, comes from a rich family and went to a engineering university. He ended up being a mechanic, but he’s much smarter than just dealing with vehicles. He can also make little gadgets and has invented some things on his own time!!

This man owns a motorcycle and you can’t prove me otherwise lol. It’s probably black or red and supported with either black or red stickers. (If the main coat is black, the sticker details are red, and vise versa-)

This man lives for leather clothing. He probably has a bunch of leather coats and boots. His clothing isn’t all that cheap- most being from when he lived in Norway.

Speaking of Norway, he has an accent!! It took a little while for him to get the hang of english when Edd flew him out to England, but he managed!! Not only does he speak his mothers language and English, he’s quite fluent in German aswell.

Like said in the last twos parts- he can bake and cook!! He probably has a major sweet tooth, he likes salty foods but if he could he’d eat sweets for the rest of his life lol! But that wouldn’t be all that healthy-

He spoils his friends rotten during holidays, the most expensive gifts. But everything he has gifted is quite thoughtful!! He is pretty observant and knows what his friends like. ——————————————————————

Tom

Starting off, this man is COLD!! He’s cold 24/7 omfg. Thats why you’ll see him wearing a sweatshirt most of the time, not cause He’s insecure or anything he’s a walking and talking popsicle. His bed has been taken over by mountains of blankets. He has like three weighted blankets lying around and a few other normal ones. He needs a walking heater in his life tbh

Of course a music lover, has been playing instruments all his life!! Which means, he is(or well was-) a band kid!! He can play multiple variates of guitars. His favorite being the Bass of course.

Speaking of him being a musician, he owns a music shop!! He makes the second most money out of the group. He tends to save it though, not really having much to buy. Of course that also means he’s always willing to lend a hand to his friends when they need the finances-

Loves horror media and movies. Honestly I think he’ll have a interest in Hannibal lecter media. He had the books, movies, and merchandise!!

Loves books honestly, has like a bookshelf in his room filled with a bunch of different books. Not only has he been gifted the three weighted blankets from all three, but they’ve also gotten him books they believe he’d enjoy.

His walls are littered with band posters, media posters!! He has a collection of music vinyl discs lying around that he has collected over time lol

He cares about all his friends, even if he seems to have a bitchy attitude he loves his friends like his own siblings, yes even Tord- he just genuinely kinda dislikes him.

(Going OOC here to give you guys some lore/headcanons)

-Matt has been in the building the longest

-Monsters are called monsters, though some personnel call them "SCPs" since they feel the RED Project is closely related

-Edd was "caught" when Tord tried to hide in his car. They brought Edd in to make sure he didn't turn into a zombie

-Paul and Patryck are bad guys

-The only personnel they like is David, who treats them like people

-Tord used to work for the RED Project

-Personnel can't figure out if Tom is mutated or possessed.

-Edd is weak to electricity

-Tord is weak to fire

-Edd is the weakest mutant in the building, often being called "the runt".

-Tom and Edd didn't display powers until being taken by the RED Project.

-Eduardo, Jon, and Mark have been there a while, but barely interact with the others

-Tord likes to store things in his eyehole. It almost seems bottomless

-Monsters are allowed to wear whatever clothes they feel like

-Tom has an mp3 player with metal, rock, and ska music downloaded on

-Edd used to take care of a stray cat that wandered into the building. He hid it in his room. Personnel took it away when they found out about the cat. Edd still misses it.

-Rose is weak to sunlight and could potentially get burned

-Rose and Tom they are brother and sister they just never talked about it

A red army centric au? Oh my, I haven't heard the name the red army in (Jesus Christ it's been so long) 4 years. Please do share.

anon, oh my god anon,, you shouldn’t have asked me to share more,,,,,

so uhh basically tord is a jerk to his soldiers and his second in command. after the fiasco that was the "retrieval" of the giant robot they decide they had enough of his bullshit and his second in command kicks him out of his position of leadership and the army. they were supposed to kill him but he somehow manages to escape and steal some goods before doing so.

he spends months living outside like a stray cat until one day he stumbles upon Edd, Matt and Tom. Tord can only call their names until he passes out behind them, the trio is in shock, i guess the movie will have to wait. The three of them argue trying to figure out what they should do with Tord. Tom and Matt vote to leave him on the floor and Edd would have voted the same if he didn’t felt so guilty about it, so he proposed to take him in so the three could get their sweet sweet vengeance by making him suffer (how exactly? they themselves weren't sure but they would come up with something eventually)

Tord wakes up to find himself tied up and sitting on a sofa surrounded by his old friends. They start interrogating him while he tried to come back to his senses. After a session of arguments, Tord snaps and apologizes about everything he did

the trio looked at eachother, lol yeah like a bunch of words could fix their broken trust

soon after, they'd fully realize the poor state Tord was in, and they felt… sorry for him

shit. they should have left him in the streets.

Months and months go by and their friendship slowly rebuilds, Tord sleeps at Edd's apartment and helps them by being their personal electrician.

In that time Tord also reflected about everything, and while he was having fun with his old friends he couldn't help but feel a sense of dread following him everywhere

Consequences would soon catch up to him again when their city gets attacked by a now rebranded Red Army. After being detected by them, Edd, Matt, Tom and Tord would have to abandon their apartment and fend for themselves while chaos dominated the streets. If they wanted to survive they’d have to do anything to keep themselves afloat and, who knows, maybe try and take down the army in the process, allying with new people and old friends.

^^^ and all of this started because of the detail of Tord looking at what used to be Edd's house when Pau and Pat picked him up at the cliff, and me immediately going “hmm what if tord got back to his fucking senses and was actually sorry for what he did…..”

I wanted to draw Blind AU Tord with the strays cat for a while, because he can SEE those cats.

After a few weeks, the kitten is a healthy wild ball of hyper fluff, and paul keeps her in his room. Except one day when hes called for an urgent mission he leaves his door open, and the kitten escapes. Hours later paul comes back, exhausted and ready to spend time with his kitten, only to find her missing, at the same time tord gets back to his office to do paperwork, only to find a small puring mass of fur has occupied his chair

she’s just happily kneading in his big comfy leather chair, getting cat hairs all over, and Tord is just staring at her, frozen, caught between the urge to shoo her away and crying over how god damn cute she is

Paul meanwhile is having a heart attack, because he doesn’t know where his baby is, and he is literally lying under the bed, and that’s when Tord walks in, a lil’ purring bundle of cat at his chest

“Paul. what are you doing.”

and Paul just jolts in sheer shock, bonks his head, and scoots out all covered in dust bunnies. “uh.”

and then he sees his baby in Tord’s arms, and he basically drops every inch of embarrassment, calls out “cat!” and is on Tord in a second

“how did you get out, huh? you little shit, what’d you do?” and he’s taking her in his arms and she’s happily purring up a storm, and Tord is just staring at Paul and his dumb baby cat, and he just

gives in

and now the cat has TWO DADS, rip Tord, he’s attached now

which leads to him asking Paul what her name is, and Paul looks at him like. what?

“a name. you know. the thing you call her.”

“uhhh.

“oh my god Paul you haven’t named her?!”

and he just splutters and tries to explain that you don’t NAME strays, and Tord is just judging him, picks up the cat and cuddles her and “don’t worry baby, i love you enough to name you”
