Before and after pitfiring these ceramic pendants! [These are sold.]
First pic is after firing and after I filled in the figure with some extra red paint. Second pic is before firing. Third pic is after firing (and not filled in with paint yet).
This figure is based on a stonecarving/petroglyph I saw in Näsåker, Sweden. Mysterious figure and a moose! What do you think is going on there, what does it depict?

A dinosaur, alone on a barren earth, wandered aimlessly in search of sustenance. As the days passed, hope seemed to fade until one day, a glimmer of light appeared on the horizon. The dinosaur trudged towards the mountains, where a stream flowed, providing a source of fresh water. The dinosaur drank deeply, quenching its thirst. As it looked around, it realized that it was not alone, the stream was a sign of life, giving the dinosaur hope for survival. #dinosaur #wildlifephotography #wildlife #stoneage #water #art #ai #dino #game #playstation # https://www.instagram.com/p/CnVXhfgBUZw/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Name: Deaw Ahn
Age: “32”
Gender: Nonbinary
Pronouns: He/They
Orientation: Bisexual
Species: Replicant
Occupation: Bladerunner
Civilian Occupation: "Castrato" at Metropolitan Opera House
Tropes: The Ingenue, The Heart, Silk Hiding Steel, Beauty is Goodness
Expanded Aesthetic: walking barefoot through the glade while cicadas hum / mourning hymns cast over an animal night / laying bare and prone upon dew and dirt, listening for primordial song / an ore split open at the seam / nightingales shivering free of their oaks, taking to a black sky / tenderness and rebellion, love and wrath in one breath
Singing Voiceclaim: xSpeaking Voiceclaim: x
History (TLDR below): tw - mentions of violence
life begins with a song.
your mothers are women of the earth, nymphs brimming with love and temper.
a spat in the morning, a riot over lunch, a reconciliation coupled with the din of a record fuzzily crooning speakeasy jazz and mournful blues. the pines beyond their little wooden home whisper hushed hymns of animal secrets and primordial ciphers.
life is full of ancient melody out here, and you want to be the mouthpiece.
moonshot, you long to be the herd of silver deer galloping through the dark, the owl howl, the mourning nightingale.
how to raise a fledgling starchild. alone.
by sinistra ton
do not hide anything. tell the truth, but tell it beautifully. he is as untamed as he is a thing of bent stems. he will catch the scent of a half-lie as if it's drenched in rot. i've told him everything - everything, save for the letter left behind.
do not clip a wildling's wings. she had tried, when it was just us, with our bedroom door shut, or when the boy was out in the forest.
nurture a generous heart. he returns from his trips to town with a new stray. darling boy of gilt heart, rabbit-in-the-thicket child. too lovely. unfit for this world. you tell him so while he washes the rain from wild berries, brushing hair from his eyes. beware the calloused hand that reaches for yours. it has touched thorns like yours to pick at the rose.
do not lie. he finds the note. he knows lucia has left. he knows i refused to go, that i refused to let her take him too. he is silent, rounds his mouth on 'betrayal' - i collapse.
do not stop him when he leaves. his cheeks are still tearstained when he leaves for the city - he kisses my brow tenderly. he says, i will bring her back.
...
...
...
his memories end there. he learns later that his former memory-maker was replaced with one more efficient, more mindful of Stoneage's objectives. his memories become that of training, of honing his lethality, his agility, his ruthlessness when duty calls for him. and when it calls, he loathes it. in spite of his new memory-maker, he hates what he has been made to do.
instead, he dreams of what the first memory-maker must have been like, to give him such resplendent, romantic memories, to bequeath upon him such a personal, noble goal as finding his missing mother. to gift him a singing voice that has been extinct without the injury that usually accompanies it. this figure shrouded in mystery, this enigma, must be kind. must be loving. must embrace love and art and song and nature and must be so far disparate from the clinical business of Stoneage and the concrete jungle of new york.
perhaps they hated what they were made to do too.
tldr:
deaw (named after morning dew - actually the old english way of spelling it) was adopted by two women (sinistra and lucia) who lived on the outskirts of rural new york in their homestead, following a sustainable lifestyle. life was musical, ideal, and isolated, with leisure time spent running alongside deer, singing to the moon, and bathing in the wild rivers.
life is idyllic until lucia ups and leaves overnight, seemingly with no warning signs, and no attempt at communication. the remaining family is heartbroken, but carry on as best they can, though deaw is particularly wounded by the sudden abandonment.
years pass. chance leads to deaw discovering a letter addressed to sinistra from lucia dated the night the latter left, and he sets off to find her.
PSYCH. he is a replicant bladerunner. up until this bullet, his memories were fabricated by a memory-maker; it is this same memory-maker who made him sweet and whimsical and wild, who gave him a natural extinct castrato's voice (without the horrific injury so well-associated with the practice) so he could sing with the wild birds, who made him find love and beauty even in the darkest and most decrepit places. abrubtly, this memory-maker was replaced by another more... efficient. one that helped hone him into a more ruthless bladerunner.
unfortunately, the work of a bladerunner goes against his very nature crafted by his first memory-maker. though he is extremely skilled, he hates the work, hates that he was also made to be so proficient at retiring replicants. secretly, he yearns for a future free of stoneage industries, and he dreams of one day meeting his first memory-maker. to understand them. to better understand himself.
SUMMARY: deaw is a creature of contradictions and dichotomies, love and wrath, tenderness and easy, fleeting touches and a penchant for altruism and restlessness. a made nymph, as wild and freefalling as his 'mothers', but with a great affection and tenderness towards his fellow 'man'. unfortunately, he's an incredibly proficient bladerunner.
WANTED CONNECTIONS
unfortunate replicants who are on his list to 'retire'
patrons and benefactors at the opera house, particularly those fascinated by his famous 'castrato' voice but without the actual practice associated with it having forced upon him. 1000% he is marketed as possessing an extinct voice.
both his memory-makers!!!!
fellow employees at stoneage - those who sympathize with him and those who are deplete of any empathy for his plight
fellow romantics and wildlings
people who can yell at him for being so enamored with nature and love and art in this age of tech and modernity

the west executive boardroom of stoneage industries ⭑ * 12:00 hours ⸺ @gildcdglory, for haneul.
echoes of shouts and groans bounced from wall to wall, contrasted with the current silence of the room. kiran grimaced at the idea that he was actually quite excited to come today. a meeting of only the top of the burning gods food chain happened often, yes, but they'd never been set at stoneage industries.
the subject of the meeting caused the uproar. as a group they were careful, you had to be in white collar crime. and admittedly, kiran hadn't reached that expectation. he liked throwing his money at things, sometimes not even bothering to check if the money was clean.
they had taken a hard stance. kiran was to stop messing around. under threat of death was implied. so now, kiran sat silently, knee bouncing up and down. his eyes flicked up to the only other person still sitting there. haneul seon. finance. it was only so fitting that he'd be apart of the crusade to stop kiran's patronage of the arts.
"i suppose you're enjoying this." he said bitterly. "and here i thought we were meant to support the culture of the city we live in."

wcs / roles an elizabeth debicki fc could fit?
Hiii beloved!! I’m so excited, Elizabeth Debicki has been a pretty common name that’s been brought up for wanted fcs here! For official wanted connections: Atticus Holden’s secretary connection or Raven Kowalski’s best friend connection. For roles, I can see them fitting: the personal assistant role for Anunnaki Pharmaceuticals, the spa owner role for the Borderline Hotel, an associate role for the Burning Gods, a vigilante role for the Executioners, the private security role for the Godfather House of Blues, a CIA operations role for the government, a dancer role for Gravity Nightclub, the consigliere role for the Jade Tribe, a psychiatrist role for Le Dédale Clinique, the director role for the New York City Ballet Company, the active mercenary role for Red Eye, the replicant retirer role for Stoneage Industries, the investor of the Torn Traditions art gallery, or a capo role for the White Crocodiles. I hope some of these peak your interest, angel! Either way I can't wait to see what you have in store for us!

I'm having pretty mixed feelings about tumblr's new content filtering. The short of it is, while I think it's good for tumblr its showed me I need to expand my horizons/places i post (the long of it is contained below lol)
so while i am looking forward to tumblr finally clawing its way back out of the stoneage with the way we can post content, and i know that content filtering is a major step towards that, it really chufts my fluffs that by tagging things as mature, im now getting less eyes on it.
i mean that's the system working as intended and I don't exactly want folks having to look at mature art when they don't want to. but since the content filtering is an optional switch you have to flick yourself, this means that people who might enjoy this stuff normally just don't see it because it's all off by default. which is annoying and discouraging to say the least (this isn't a finger point at any followers - you didn't design the system! just making sure thats clear so no one thinks I'm trying to boo hoo guilt them because they didnt see my arts or whatnot)
so while tumblr is my favorite site to post and is still kinda my home in a lot of ways (i've been here over a decade in one account or another), im gonna start trying to focus on other sites as well. i opened a furaffinty account so I can unleash a little more over there, and I guess i should update my neglected twitter... i would like to post more on twitter anyway and have been meaning to, but twice in the first year i was trying to establish myself, it got locked for "suspicious activity" (I posted two things in the same day) which really ground my ambitions into powder.
But to keep up with crossposting i got postybirb. ive never used it before though but we'll see how it goes! if the bird site locks me out again ill just turn into a giant slime and eat northamerica (i promise)
that all said, i'm not leaving tumblr or anything so dramatic. but since my primary audience is based on a webedsite that can just chunk off my audience overnight for following the rules, I don't want to keep putting all my eggs in one basket.

Fallow Mire
We enter to this zone because Avvars are holding hostage a group of inquisition soldiers. Scout Harding tells us that the Avvar want to challenge the will of the inquisitor’s god since they claim to be sent by them.
This place is a bog and, in theory, it must be a transitioning landscape into the Kocari Wild.
[This is part of the series “Playing DA like an archaeologist”]
The Main Path: beacons
The main path is decorated with Andrastian statues and Veilfire runes. In the Hinterlands [read the post Hinterlands: The Unknown Ruin [Mihris]] we learn that the Veilfire, even though the Elves were masters at it, it’s an art that any mage can produce, although its quality will never be as good as the elves’. Such is the case in these beacons: this veilfire inscription is very clumsy and reading it brings demons.
The first beacon, called The Light of Andraste, shows a statue of Andraste with four grieving Maferaths around her, and it was erected when the main keep of this place [Hardgrave Keep] was completed.
The second beacon is made with a typical stone-made torch that represents two mabaris and a shield, as an old, modified version of the heraldry of the Therein family. At the bottom, it is decorated with horses. The Veilfire rune is written in a gibberish way, meaning that these messages have a code. They inspire paranoia and bitterness.
The third beacon is the same mabari-torch column but it has attached an andrastian statue. Only one of them is clear, the other seems to have been left without being sculpted or simply it was eroded.
At this point the beacons have no more decoration, they are the typical mabari-torch column we find all over Ferelden. The veilfire keeps appearing on them and calling demons when we read them.
The last beacon shows the secret to craft a potion. All this process of following the beacons and the Veilfire messages was related to a side quest involving the Apostate mage Widris:
Widris is an escapee mage we can find later and kill. She has an encampment guarded by demons where we can find several magical artefacts and her diary. There is no much meaning in this quest beyond the fact that we see that Veilfire can truly be used by any mage, as we read in the codex found in Hinterlands.
Along the main path we keep finding Andrastian iconography. In this case, two Maferaths, high up, at the sides of the main path.
At the end of the beacons, and surrounded by infinite undead, we find the Hargrave’s Keep.
A bit of history about this Keep: Between the forth and the fifth blight, Bann Hargrave's knights helped to fight against the Avvars that were attacking these lands. When the King asked Hargrave to pursue the retreating tribes, she refused, demanding funds to build a keep. Caught between a fractured court, Hargrave's knights, and a famine hitting the land, the king reluctantly granted her a place in Fallow Mire. There, she built this keep. The Avvar had been completely expelled by the end of the building of the Keep. To commemorate the moment, the Light of Andraste [the first beacon] was built and Hargrave created a garden made of avvar sculptures around the keep [check Fallow Mire: Granite Point] as a “path of triumph”. Despite the threat, the famine never touched this place, since the zone was rich in fish.
Hargrave's line died out fighting Orlesian invaders in the Second Orlesian Invasion of Ferelden, and her Keep fell in disrepair. The village continued existed without major problems. However, in the same year that the Breach in the sky appeared, a brutal, unknown plague hit this zone. The villagers could not make time to bury their dead, so they began to burn them in piles. Most of the people who did not died with the plague, left the village when they saw Avvars occupying the ruined keep.
Other zones in the open
Granite point is a very interesting place. At a first glance, we suspect it’s an Avvar region since we find several Keepers of Fear and the mouth-opened mabaris.
We also see stoneage-like structures that form circles or have some strange orientation. More screenshots of this point in this post [here]. After some time observing this place one starts to guess all this seems too artificial. And it is indeed. As the landmark says, it’s mostly a garden of triumph: Hargrave brought the art of the invaders that were repelled, and made a garden with them. I find this concept interesting and hilarious... imagining fereldens dragging those big sculptures all over the muddy region.
The Den is a place where we find another tear of the Fade. In it we find several mabari statues and urns.
Another small detail that has not much to offer is this creepy windmill. It is not Ferelden if you don’t have a windmill in each small village.
Close to one of the many rifts in the area, we find a Sky Watcher, an avvar shaman who says to take care of the wounds on the Lady of the Skies’ skin. Once we defeat the Avvar Chief in the Keep, he can join the Inquisition as an agent.
The houses
We explore the houses, finding most of the time, elements with strong ferelden style [aka it has mabaris, lol].
Inside the houses some codices of the times before Andraste can be triggered. Before Andrastianism: Forgotten Faiths shows how faith was complicated in a time where gods did not exist as a uniformed concept across Thedas. This highlight the importance of Andraste as a tool of diplomacy and control over the different counties. There are some that explain extinct sects: we read about The Empty Ones, a strange sect that worshipped the Blight as the true Void where all souls go, and The Daughters of Song, an hedonist and orgiastic sect that celebrated the union of Andraste with the Maker, and only that, lol.
Since this is Ferelden, and we know their tradition with Mabaris, we find what I suspect is dog houses as well.
During the exploration we find in several opportunities half burnt bodies: they died faster than they could burn them. This plague put the village in shock: think that before the Breach this place was filled with villagers, and as soon as the Breach appears and the plague hits, it’s only months after the Avvars appear. In less than a year, a flourishing fishing village becomes a ghost village.
Beside this Thedosian chessboard, there is a codex explaining how the avvar are loyal to the Lady of the Sky, calling Andraste a false prophet. They read the flocks and sacrifice wolves on her altar, and through the Avvar the “lady of the skies will have her due” which is an interesting phrasing, reminding Flemeth’s words at the Temple of Mythal.
I’m not going to lie that the more I read about Tyrdda, the Lady of the skies, and the Avvar in general, the more I suspect that the Lady of the Skies can be another name that Flemeth took to push the Avvar in the direction she needed to complete her plans. The loosen but repetitive images we have of Mythal seem to have a similar shape, although not the same, with the Lady of the Skies.

THROWBACK THURSDAY #43!- The Waxwings- Low To The Ground (Bobsled Records)
Has it really been 23 years since this terrific Waxwings debut? Why yes it has. These Detroit popsters, led by Dean Fertita (who later went on to Dead Weather, Queens of the Stoneage, etc) knew how to add some new bright blood to an art form that The Beatles and Byrds perfected some thirty plus years before this.
Fertita and his cohorts add a real brightness here with well-written songs played with plenty of passion and panache (and a real sense of fun, as well). The vocal tradeoffs between Fertita and Dominic Romano (who I think left the band after this record) are superb as well.
Cuts like opener “Keeping the Sparks,” the more rockin’ “While You Spiral,” and the real 60’s ish “Into the Scenery” are just a few of the gems on here. They add some twang to the fantastic “Firewood” and kick things down a notch or two on the lovely, soulful “Low Ceiling.” Also, don’t miss the swirling “United”, another ace cut on here, or the marvelous acoustic number “Different Plane.”
The band’s other two LPs, while solid, did not reach the heights of Low To The Ground. This is the one to hear.
Bobsled is long gone but you can find it on Discogs.
