As you may know, Steve is my cohost on Roadkill Garage and Engine Masters, and he’s also done some stints on Roadkill. I first met Dulcich circa 1997 when he showed up at my Car Craft office pitching freelance story ideas and I nearly threw him out for rifling through papers on my desk while I was on the phone. A few weeks later I bought one of his stories in last-minute desperation to fill pages. Soon enough we became friends and have been ever since. Steve has written for many magazines and eventually became editor of the now-defunct Engine Masters mag. He’s painted three of my cars, and for reasons of maintaining a relationship we’ve agreed he’ll never do it again. He has his own junk to work on. A lot. Steve can fix anything, any time, any where. In a prior post (now deleted) I mentioned the name of that engine and IG throttled it back! Anyway, WHY NO TUNNEL RAM? It’s because our schedule meant we had to install the engine in the ‘56 and we also had to do another tunnel ram test at the same time—long story. But you’ll see a tunnel ram versus crossram episode soon. And you’ll also see this red small-block in the ‘56 on Roadkill Garage. Reposted from @finnegan999 Lemme tell ya a little story. @davidnewbern and I found this ‘67 Firebird in a barn. The moment we drug it out of the barn a storm came and drenched us. We worked on the car a little bit over the next few weeks and then went to Paradise Dragstrip to run the car. As soon as we made a pass down the track, a storm came and we got wet again. We are now road tripping it from Georgia to Texas to race @davidfreiburger and @stevedulcich in the Crusher Camaro and it’s rained every damn day of this trip. It’s yellow, it has giant tires on it, and its natural habitat seems to be the water so.....say hello to Rubber Duck!
