Stargate is one of the most explicit examples of a Christian colonizer fantasy in modern media. The ideology of it's protagonists maps very closely to the ideology of empires like Britain and especially Spain.
Can you imagine if the writers of Stargate weren't Christians and Cowards????
Listen. Listen. If your plot centers on all gods and big names from folklore from all religions and mythologies being Actually Evil Aliens then you can't be a goddamn fucking coward and pretend that YOUR religion, your christianity is the only sacred, untouchable religion that will literally never even be brought up or considered in the show.
Literally SGU has all these outright Christian characters and themes and shit and it's so goddamn fucking hilarious and christian-centric considering that everything Stargate stands for is bastardizing all non-christian religions and mythologies.
Can you imagine if the fucking christian characters had to have their faith confronted and destroyed the way every other Goa'uld worshipper had to? A god you should fear as a matter of course? "We're all god-fearing people" is apparently a GOOD thing to be???? A god that wiped out all life on earth except for his hand-picked favorites and any animals they could carry? The "son of god" that went around healing people and came back to life??? You're telling me that these, in any other fucking religion and mythology wouldn't be used as examples to the people worshiping the Goa'uld calling themselves their god????
Fuck the writers of Stargate.
You do NOT get to bash and demonize every other religion on fucking earth and get scandalized and outraged when someone even dares to introduce the concept of christianity being under the same rules in the Stargate universe??????
"but MY RELIGION IS SACRED!!!" Too fucking bad then maybe you shouldn't have had any religions from earth be the ones the Goa'uld introduced then shut the fuck up.
DNI if you're going to put your christianity-centric clownery on this post.

I think think it's funny that Stargate: Universe is the best Stargate of the tree just because they didn't commit genocide against someone (portrayed as though it's the only option and thus The Right Decision™)...but only because there literally wasn't anyone for them to commit it against >.>
No convenient aliens who are Inherelty Evil All the Time Including Their Newborn Babies are attacking them. They're just dying from dehydration and lack of food.
and like yeah, you can complain about the whole Christian thing but it's just making it plain what the other shows were already doing by having All Other Religions be actually about aliens who enslave people. SGU putting catholic characters in the show is just them not pretending that that's what they're doing anymore.

male writers are like “not all men” and then give all their male characters dead wives or wives that were literally given to them like property and sometimes they give them wives as property and then kill them and you know what just for zest lets throw some dead girlfriends in there too :) /s

I would like to see a bunch of time traveling cis straight neurotypical able-bodied white people moralizing and giving a big grand speech about how preserving the timeline is more important than anything and ‘how do we know we aren’t going to create a worse future’ and blah blah blah
and then someone who is not cis, straight, neurotypical, able-bodied, or white just comes up behind them while they’re all debating and just casually stabs fascist they were going to allow to live and he bleeds to death before the idiots even notice.

[ID: a meme with two panels, with the first panel showing a picture of Elizabeth Weir, from Stargate SG1, as a white woman with short blonde hair, looking determined and angry as she looks slightly off to the side. Text beneath her reads, "wants to defund the military, anti-colonization". Next to her is a picture of someone pressing a button on a keyboard that says, "upgrade".
The second panel of the meme again shows Elizabeth Weir, now played by a different white woman, now with longer brown hair. She is staring directly at the camera, looking determined. Text beneath her reads, "racist war criminal who experiments on prisoners and tortures them to death". The second part of the meme again shows someone pressing a button, but the button now says, "fuck go back". End ID.]

[ID: The same image, now with the salesman saying, "Yeah, this is just straight up US Military propaganda LMAO. We're not even being subtle about it anymore. Only pansies think violating the Geneva convention is a bad thing, lol." End ID.]
It's not at all a coincidance that the only character on this show who thought torturing prisoners to death was bad was the one guy who wears his hair in a ponytail.
[ID: the meme of a car salesman presenting a car to a customer, now edited so the text reads 'slaps the roof of Stargate Atlantis', while the dialogue is "this bad boy can hold so many war crimes!" End ID]

if you torture body-snatching entities by torturing them inside their host I hate you
If your characters are supposed to be the good guys, don’t have them torture body-snatchers by torturing them inside their stolen host body
This also applies to killing them. Self defence is one thing but if you have the option to take them prisoner and you choose to kill them? instead of rescuing the host? you’re not a good person.
Fuck the Animorphs and fuck Stargate and ESPECIALLY FUCK SUPERNATURAL

Rush is literally the only person concerned about the consent of the BODY these people are walking around in!!!!!!!!!
You can't swap bodies with someone and then go around drinking and having sex with people and NOT bring up what kind of contracts and consent forms these people signed when they volunteered for swapping bodies!
Like, that could literally be one of the actual plot points for why they DON'T have the best minds in the world swapping with the crew of the Destiny, because they're unwilling to completely sign their body away to a stranger for the duration, ESPECIALLY after hearing or seeing the shit that Colonel Young did while he was swapped out with various people!
Like, where is Rodney McKay? Where is Sam Carter? Hell, where's Daniel Jackson, leading expert on the Ancients? Why aren't they swapping in to examine the Destiny?
Why isn't Daniel swapping in for a few hours so he can tutor the rest of the crew on how to read and write Ancient?
Why aren't Rodney McKay and Sam Carter swapping in to examine the available technology and working together with Rush and Eli to not only get the Destiny up and running to safe and functional standards, but ALSO to again, TUTOR THE REST OF THE CREW on how the ship works???
Why don't they have leading medical teachers coming in an teaching the eNTIRE CREW basic first aid and working their way up to emergency surgery?
Why aren't they swapping in actual trained therapists to help these people deal with their trauma, instead of piling it on TJ's basic Medic shoulders????
Also, are you telling me that NO ONE in the SGC has access to TJ's medical files enough to know that training everyone to have basic medical knowledge is ESSENTIAL to the continued lives of the people on this ship, because TJ who is JUST A MEDIC does not know everything she needs to to keep these people alive, but she should NOT have to deal with this kind of stress on top of everything else she's dealing with??
TJ literally RESIGNED from her position because of her illness right before SHTF, and you're telling me no one at the SGC /Or/ the IOA know the reason??

Made with speech to text
Stargate has a habit of introducing misogynistic characters who are otherwise correct in everything they say and do, so that we ignore everything else they're right about, because misogyny is a very easy form of bigotry to parrot, and everybody knows it's wrong, especially when it is acted out as obviously and awkwardly as possible.
So far that I've seen, they've used this tactic twice. Once in Stargate SG-1 to make Rodney McKay, who is advocating for the scientific fucking method, look ridiculous and so you ignore the fact that he's literally just asking "Where is your evidence? Why do you think that? Why are you not using the scientific method?"
To make you think that that's wrong. They literally say the scientific method is wrong.
And they're doing this by making him an obviously awkward and clearly autistic misogynist so that you ignore everything that he is saying.
And then they use it in Stargate Atlantis, when a man is literally protesting them violating the Geneva Convention by torturing and experimenting on prisoners--they literally tortured prisoners to death--and this man is whistleblowing them violating the fucking Geneva Convention, but the writers went out of their way to make him very obviously misogynistic, and gendernonconforming to boot by having long hair he wears in a ponytail, so that you ignored literally everything else he says.
Their experimentations on a prisoner of war led to that prisoner dying of major organ failure. The prisoner's entire fucking body failed and they died horribly, because they were experimented upon by the enemy while being held captive as a prisoner of war.
And the only person who has a problem with this is a misogynist that is blatantly and obviously and pathetically misogynistic, so that you ignore everything out of his mouth right off the bat.

I was talking about the original Stargate movie. Sorry for not mentioning it earlier. Do you think the aliens in that movie are a racist caricature?
The entire premise and concept of Stargate is racist, and the Stargate movie most of all. It’s got the whole racist “ancient Black people couldn’t possibly have known how to build these, because we white people don’t know how they did it,, so the only reasonable explanation is that aliens did it!”
AND it’s got “haha the gods of this non-christian/catholic religion are evil aliens from space pretending to be gods, oh and so are literally all the non-christian gods ever worshipped in human history! Only God and Jesus are real! All the other gods ever worshipped are false-gods who are evil and want to enslave people!!!!!!”
And the Stargate movie itself ALSO has fucking digusting misogyny where Sha’uri (later changed to Sha’re in the show because they’re cowards and people were too fucking lazy to pronounce it correcltY??!?!?!?) is literally given to Daniel, a white man, as a fucking gift. And he fucking accepts. And the fact that he was GIVEN a wife like she’s fucking PROPERTY is NEVER fucking dealt with!
There are like five fucking seconds in SG1 where Sam is like, “YOU ACCEPTED YOUR WIFE AS A GIFT????” And Daniel starts to explain that it’s okay, actually, because-- and then they get interrupted and it is literally never brought up again and we aren’t supposed to fucking have a problem with it because the first time Daniel and Sha’uri appear in SG1 she initiates a makeout with him so that makes her being a fucking slave is okay. /s
God and don’t even get me started on the white savior bullshit.
Stargate is racist. It has been from the start. Unless they do some MAJOR changes if they ever make another series (like have someone go back in time and literally stop that first team from going through) it always will be.

Stargate: symbiotes are inherently evil and incapable of good.
The Tok'ra: uh....we're standing right here you know.
Jolinar and whatsherface: We literally exist and we aren't the only ones.
Stargate, raising its voice and cupping it's hands over its mouth to drown them out: ALL SYMBIOTES ARE INHERENTLY EVIL AND INCAPABLE OF GOOD
