Sim State University Dormie Pool

And finally, the Sim State University dormies! All 50 SSU dormies, ready to be added to your dormie-less SSU!

I gave everybody a cellphone and any information the wiki had on them such as LTWs and Interests if they had them. Names will be randomized when you add the pool but you can change them with simpe back to their originals.

Secret Society members have the appropriate token, but I once again did not test to see if they actually are really members whoops. Also, I again may or may not have fixed Jess, Noelle, Sierra and Jihoon's broken faces.

Keep in mind they’re pictured here with my default skin and eyes.

To use the dormie pool, place the SSUD folder into either

C: > Program Files (x86) > Origin Games > The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection > University Life > TSData > Res > NeighborhoodTemplate

or C: > Program Files (x86) > EA Games > The Sims 2 > The Sims 2 University > TSData > Res > NeighborhoodTemplate

or if you have your game installed somewhere else, so long as it winds up in the neighborhood template folder of your university EP.

After that, add it like a normal university. After you add it, you can delete it (provided it’s not the only unversity) and the dormies will stay. I feel like I explained that terribly so let me know if I’m not making sense 😂

✨ As with anything, I highly recommend adding it to a test hood before you add it to your main game. Don’t forget backups! 🙏I warned you! 💕

SSU # 10

Mayhem, Nancy, and Oregon were on their sophomore year when I checked in on them. They're rather hard to keep happy and prefer to goof off rather than work on skills or assignments.

The boys are really playing the field at campus.

Nancy finds love with one of the dormies during their Senior year.

Time for the three to go back home - still deciding if they start out adulthood downtown or in one of the suburbs.

The first SSU student house isn’t really a student house. Sofia Baldwin and Sally Riley are only crashing in a dorm with spooky dormies until their sorority applications are processed.

Hey, I didn't know who to ask, so I figured I'll just ask you, since you seem to know a lot about TS2. I have a custom vacation hood and created custom locals and tourists for it, but now I wanna delete it and just use the Maxis one (I have the no regen mods, so no Maxis locals or tourists though). Do you know if it's safe to just delete the custom vacation hood? Will the custom-made locals and tourists just move to the Maxis hood? Thanks :)

I'm not 100% certain -- so people who know better about this really ought to chime in -- but I believe it's safe to delete all subneighborhoods. Any playables who live in them (which doesn't apply to vacation hoods, obviously, but does to other types of subhoods) will be moved to the family bin. I don't think deleting subhoods actually deletes any of the Sims who populate them (downtownies, dormies, vacation locals/tourists, etc.), though, which is why it's safe because relationships and memories and such are retained. So, deleting subhoods won't reduce your overall population, if that's a concern/goal. Sims that populate vacation hoods are in a different “household” than main hood townies, in the same one as all the neighorborhood’s NPCs -- mail people, cashiers, hobby leaders, burglars, etc., etc.-- so I think that’s where they stay if you delete vacation hoods. They’re Sims who exist but don’t do walkbys or populate community lots as visitors and all that.

I believe the only exception to this general rule -- which has nothing to do with your question but is related to the general topic so I thought I’d mention it -- is that once you've attached a Uni to a neighborhood, you have to keep one attached. So if you were to attach all three Maxis Unis and then decide you only want, say, SSU, you can delete the other two, but you can't delete all three.

hiii moyokean - is there a way to have less than 50 dormies? I have your SSU dormie pool which has 50 sims there. Is there a way to reduce this amount without messing up the sims with the 'secret society' token?

Hmm, I don't think it's possible to install the pool and not get all 50 sims added. If you're already using it and just want to rid yourself of some of the dormies you have a few ways.

I don't know how you feel about unaliving sims, but that's one way. 👀

Another is deleting them. As it was proven that it's actually fine to delete sims with the in-game bin delete you could make the ones you want gone playable and move them out so they're in the bin then delete them. I haven't actually done this myself since the news though. I'm more of a sim unaliver, so I'm not super familiar with deleting sims via things like pescado's deleted 2 method. I know I've done it years ago but I'm far from an expert on deleting sims.

You could also just hide them the way Bella Goth is hidden.

If you're more so just worried about not getting rid of the secret society members, the wiki has a list of which SSU sims are in it so that you could make sure you didn't unalive or delete those ones. It has a picture of them you can reference since names get randomized.

Also, adding and removing them from the society isn't that difficult. If you did somehow lose a society member, it's very easy to give dormies the token. The fastest way I know of (and what I did when making my pool) is when you shift click on a sim with testing cheats enabled there's an add to secret society option. But it's really easy to give them the token in simpe too, by going into the memories of a dormie and in the dropdown where it says memory - change that to token and click Create new. Then in the Name box find the secret society token and it'll change to that one. Then click Commit. But giving them the token by shift clicking on them with testing cheats is certainly faster, and probably better if you're not super comfortable with simpe.

Getting Schooled at SSU 3

Izzy, Indigo, and Isobel had finished their first semester of college the last time I checked in on them. Our favorite cheerleader proves her worth and Izzy is appreciative. The Evil Cows are getting out-of-hand around this college.

We had a bit of an unexpected surprise after class, one day.

Izzy and Indigo trudge on without their fellow triplet as only Sims do - it's like she never existed. Indigo met and fell for this Benjamin character and then the next day the game gave her her LTW for it. Weird. The dormies are getting smarter than the Evil Cow.

Indigo just wants to get on with her life and quit school. She's back to the hood house-hunting for the perfect home for her and Benjamin.

Izzy finishes a semester and heads to campus to celebrate. Where he quizzed Mitch on his attentions.

I stopped Melody writing her paper when the dormies started arriving.  Because I made all the premade SSU students into dormies, we’ve got Castor Nova, Tiffany Sampson, Brittany Upsnott, Martin Ruben, Jane Stacks, Heather Huffington, and Allegra Gorey as dormmates. This should be interesting! Yay!

Caleb: Oh, well. It’s not really related to schoolwork. Um, see, last night...Aiden and I...we sorta...hooked up? And we haven’t really talked about it since. But he’s my best friend, y’know? So I’m kinda worried everything’s gonna be awkward now and I just...I don’t know what to do. I’m used to acting a certain way with him, and now suddenly the script’s different, and I don’t know how to play my part. I don’t know how to act around him now that the lines are all blurred. 

Alex: Hm. Well, I’m not much of an expert on relationships. I’ve been dating Lucy since we started high school and crushing on her since we were kids. I suppose it is similar though. I’d say we’re each other’s best friends. I guess all I can say is, talk to each other. You said so yourself, you haven’t talked about it yet. I advise you do that first. Figure out where you both stand and figure out if you’re both interested in pursuing something more. 

Caleb: But what if he’s not? What if this ruins our friendship?! Alex: Not talking about it and being awkward around each other will probably ruin things more, don’t you think?  Caleb: I get why they call you a genius.

Still haven’t decided which university I want to send my Riverblossom Hills teens to, but I did give @katatty‘s Sim State Dormitory a small makeover just in case I decide to move my Sims to SSU. Changed up some dorm rooms, gave the study a small makeover, turned the games room into a poker/ band room and added a small gym. There’s also a karaoke machine in the hallway, which is definitely not a terrible idea.

(Downstairs dorm rooms have been turned into regular rooms- for some reason my “nodormieregen” does not prevent dormies from being spawned.)
