#ssf fic: double helix

The office scene in Chapter 6: Red as Sin is what I meant. There’s something so organic about the at you write all your characters tbh. And the chemistry in this chapter is always standout for me. I’m a sucker for Steve being in control but also still driven by that instinct he has (he’s in control but also not in control of that makes sense LOL) and I think with the omegaverse stuff you want to write it’s gonna be even more amazing to see. You always get that with Steve so well. Even in your soul mark fic. It’s gonna be great to see Steve sort of fight his natural urges even though he doesn’t want to.
Anyways I love your writing to bits. Literal bits.
That scene is one of my own favorites too; I'm glad you like it. And yeah, I get what you mean about the control part! That was what I was aiming for in that scene so thank you for the compliment! I always aim to write three-dimensional humans with layers to them and natural ways they react to things.
I do feel like the omegaverse is going to be exactly that, the conflicted feeling of desire and the growing connection in juxtaposition to the way they were thrown into this. Them both fighting it even though they're not even sure they want to fight it anymore.
By the soul mark fic I assume you mean Double Helix (AO3), and funny story about that, I didn't think I was going to publish anything else ever when posting that. 😂 I had been reading fic for a long time and then I just wanted to write that idea and share it, since I felt like there should be more of that type of fic with fluff and smut and a Happy Ending for protective, loving Steve.
The fact that it got some nice comments (I think like... 4-5 in the beginning) prompted me to write and post more, since it got me thinking that people want to read my work. The characterization of Steve is definitely a little different to what I have written since; a lot of the core elements of him were there but I feel like they've since been refined and expanded upon in my fics.
Thank you for the lovely message - I am very glad to hear you like my writing so much.

Oh thank you for recommending the Double Helix saga (AO3, Steve x Scientist!Reader, soulmate AU, post-Endgame AU, VERY explicit so 18+ only). I had a lot of fun with that, and the funniest thing is that I never even thought I'd become a fic writer - I just had this idea about soulmates and Steve and fluffy smut and when I posted it, I got a couple of nice comments and I started thinking hey, maybe other people enjoy my daydreams too.
And then like a month later I had written three more parts of that and a 88k longfic. If this isn't the proof of how much comments and encouragement matter, I don't know what is.
I am so looking forward to your take on the trope - it's perhaps my favorite one.

hmmmmm, did you mean something that I like from my own WIP? If so, I feel like the best way that I could answer this is with a lil quote 👀: voila
Even with this knowledge, Steve celebrated the privilege of having his soulmate’s heart rate glow on his wrist.

its so funny that you mention the daydreams portion of fic writing *not me just sending u that msg about maladaptive daydreaming lol*. im happy to recc. and promote you at any point. you're an amazing amazing writer and one of my faves -- happy to do it always :3
there's this line in this show Doctor Who where a character says, "the souffle isn't, the souffle is the recipe" which i always interpret to mean that its not about the destination, but the journey! i suppose for us writers, we need to support our imaginations always-- cause we have no idea where it shall take us, my friend 🥳
