crystalmolly, she's a mexican streamer who does minecraft and just chatting content and hangs out with mctrio and adjacent folks. she helped host the red carpet (i think it was technically a white carpet but that's not the point) at the eslands and got treated like shit by the organizers and attendees along with her fellow co-hosts (kept getting misgendered, wasn't given proper accomodations, they wouldn't give her a fucking jacket or umbrella, literally insane) and then after the event people harassed the shit out of them all for being "shitty interviewers" when they weren't given enough prep time and were treated awfully.

and aside from how awful it is for molly, although it is important to talk about that, it just exacerbates how frustrated people feel with how eslands and spanish creators generally don't care about latino creators or their viewers and just want to get their money but not actually include them when it comes to respect and awards. this is just yet another example, wherein they asked molly (an increasingly popular mexican & trans streamer) to host in order to look good, didn't pay her, and didn't stick up for her when people treated her badly. basically spaniards need to suck it up and realize they are not the fucking peak of spanish speaking culture and if they keep alienating latino viewers and creators they're going to look worse and worse and stop having any support from latin america.
