Best Underrated Anime Group B Round 1: #B4 vs #B5
#B4: Human falls in love with an android
This anime is a 13-episode Sci-fi romance story about eighteen-year-old Tsukasa Mizugaki, who lands a job at Sion Artificial Intelligence Corporation ( SAI Corps). SAI corps has created Giftias, androids that are nearly identical to humans. Giftias have one major difference from humans in that they are only allowed to live for 9 years and 4 months before they start to break down.
Tsukasa is partnered with a Giftia named Isla. Slowly, they begin to fall in love.
Tumblr media
#B5: (Mostly) unexperienced college track team aims for big race
It’s a sports anime which focuses on a college running team. Their goal? To run the Hakone Ekiden, a famous marathon relay race. The catch? With two notable exceptions of their captain and their latest recruit, this team is composed entirely of amateurs. Does this mess of a team stand any chance of even qualifying for the race?
Titles, propagandas, trailers, and poll under the cut!
Tumblr media
#B4: Plastic Memories
youtube
Propaganda 1:
This anime is a heart-wrenching masterpiece. It is slow, tender, and incredibly cathartic. The art is beautiful, and the story is enchanting. Of all the random anime I watched in middle school, this one really stuck with me.
Propaganda 2:
My brother and I watched it together. He ugly sobbed at it so hard, he had to go stand outside and weep down the phone to someone and my mom thought that he’d received news of someone’s actual death. He was okay, though, I promise
Trigger Warnings: [Not Stated]
Tumblr media
#B5: Run with the Wind (Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru)
youtube
Propaganda 1:
Okay so finally a sports anime that isn't set in high school. (There aren't nearly enough set in college.) MC is basically Older Running Kageyama, in both looks and personality. He has to overcome his past issues with his old track team, and learn to open up. I love the relationships that form between the team members. There's one who is just Not Here for It and struggles A Lot, who just wants to go home and read manga. (Hey it me.) There's also a cute dog, and a lot of the bg music is by the same folks as Haikyuu.
Propaganda 2:
I genuinely think this might be the best sports anime out there. It’s an amazing anime in general, with good animation, a beautiful art show, and a great premise, though what really makes it stand out is the characters.
RWTW is a character-driven story at heart, with all the main characters given their time to shine. The main cast is very lovable, and their relationships with each other are depicted in a sweet but realistic way. The protagonist, Kakeru, goes through a great character development over the course of the show, from being a lonely outcast at the start to accepting the other team members into his heart as found family.
While I’m not a runner personally, I still found this interesting to watch, since along with the training there’s a lot of thoughtful discussion on the nature of running: what it means to run, to be a runner. There’s a very philosophical aspect to it, which makes sense considering that RWTW is actually adapted from a book. The last thing I’ll say is that as a college student myself, it’s really nice to watch an anime focused on people in college and not high school. Oh, and the soundtrack is incredible.
Trigger Warnings: Alcohol and Smoking

Witcher, Metal Version
Ever since I stumbled across Orion's Reign I was wondering which metal bands or artists have made songs about The Witcher. By which I mean game and books, so you will not find Dan Vasc's (really good!) version of "Toss a coin" on this list. There are, however, some bands or artists that made metal versions of soundtrack pieces, and some of those are listed here, too. A good source to bands with Witcher themes is this reddit post, btw! Without further ado, here it goes: Metal Witcher songs! (And if you have additions, reblog this post with them, please!)
youtube
BG's "Blood of the Elves" is the latest I know of dealing with Witcher themes. It is, of course, about Ciri. Also Blind Guardian are - I'm sorry I'm saying this so often - one of my top fav bands, so they are the first on this list :)
youtube
Yes, "Elder Blood" by Orion's Reign is dealing with the same topic. Dan Vasc is the singer here ;) I simply love his voice, and the song is epic!
youtube
Vader must have been one of the first, if not THE first, metal bands to cover a Witcher theme. Rightfully so, they are polish... "Sword of the Witcher" is about the first game.
What else can you expect from a band named "Kaer Morhen" than epic songs? This is, according to the "Encyclopedia Metallum", an instrumental duo, so this is basically symphonic metal (or, as they call the genre, "Epic Symphonic Metal", ok). This song covers the game theme for Kaer Morhen and enhances it in an awesome way!
youtube
Skar has a couple of Witcher metal covers. This is "The Wolven Storm". Check out this guy, he has awesome songs!
youtube
Miracle of Sound is another really, really cool project with many songs inspired by video games. There are a couple of Witcher songs, this one's the "Wake The White Wolf - Metal Version" (it takes a bit to get "metal" but it's really neat!).
youtube
"Wild Hunt" by German band Oversense is a sadly widely unknown song with a very nice melody and lyrics about Geralt. Their song "White Wolf" is also really nice!
youtube
Can you imagine me finding out there's this band "Hekseblad" with a couple of Witcher songs, including "The White Flame?" Yeah, sadly it's Trash metal, which I don't really like... but thanks folks, now I know there is an Emhyr song. Wow.
youtube
We can NOT, of course, miss out Percival Schuttenbach, which is also known as just Percival, but does a bit of different music with both projects. Percival Schuttenbach, however, is considered "Folk Metal".
youtube
Midgard is a Ukrainian metal band, this is "The Witcher". Whenever you hear them sing two similar words in a row, it's "Белый волк", meaning "White Wolf".
I really like Elvenking (check out "Black Roses For The Wicked One!") and I was thrilled to find they have a song about the Wild Hunt!
If you're hooked now, but not that much into metal - no prob, there's a lot of witcher inspired folk music out there. Check your favorite streaming service for Myrkur's cover of "Lullaby of Woe", and definitely look for Gingertail's epic covers, especially "The Wolven Storm". There are also a LOT of "Toss a Coin" covers, if that is your thing, I'd suggest to start with Dan Vasc but also look into the really good guitar version by  Luca Stricagnoli.
Here's my list with more Witcher songs, non-metal!
More Metal songs, Eastern edition!

5 songs
that I've been enjoying lately (lately covers a lot of time, btw)(@godblessyoublackemperor i didn't forget you tagged me in this lol)
I don't know much to say about the songs themselves. the reason a song hooks me is usually a pretty personal one but I wanna give a stab at a more general why I like these, I suppose.
Tamino - Cigar
Tamino has a lovely voice, the lyrics resonate with me personally and a song usually hooks me if it's nice to sing, which this one is great but if I'm in a particular mood, sadness will hook my voice away during certain parts.
youtube
Lord Huron - When The Night Is Over
pretty much like this song for the same reasons above, though though the lyrics of this song are even more meaningful to me, i suppose.
youtube
YOAV - Blood Moon
the beat in this one makes me feel like (??missing emotion??) (peculiar?)(idk)
this song makes me want to strive to create??
youtube
Hot Sugar - Barbie Jeep
no lyrics here, as per usu with a hot sugar track. hot sugar is great bg music. (ETA: hot sugar makes the soundtracks to my wildest lucid dreams. I get the most uncanny feeling from hot sugars music. I feel like if my dreams did have accompanying music, it would be hot sugar trax
youtube
Dirty Art Club - Queen Persephone
more super groovy stuff to have on in the BG but this one I always play first when i listen to Dirty Art Club for reasons I will NEVER divulge 😈

And onto Rush Adventure now:
-Tbh at first i wasnt sold on the materials grinding for ships but later liked how it gives you a reason to improve your scores on the levels so you can get more. Idk i usually dont care abt scores but w the external motivation? Yea
-Same w the misions, good way to have lil extra stuff to do (that said why did they block the sound mode songs behind misions. Game pls my internet makes opening youtube an odyssey and now this too? Cruelty 😔)
-Oh and also the ship minigames! Its fun to have a map you can explore, and the races w Jhonny for the chaos emeralds are way better than the Surely Existing special levels (also srry if i got his name wrong lmao)
-Onto the soundtrack; its more broad compared to rush, and each song does matches well the enviroment. I like the tropical coastal vibes of the main town n training level, and oh man. Sky babylon and deep core my beloveds who literally got engraved in my neurons so hard i was struggling reading hours later bc the darn tunes kept playing in the background of my skull. Well scratch that all the tunes keep playing on the bg of my skull rn, what kind of eldritch curse is this). So yes good ost 👍
-Overall the aesthetic n vibes are also more broad with that tropical relax overtone, its quite nice. The difficulty is also way more forgiving (i mean i played on easy but that's the mode the game came in) and the tutorials with the controls are helpful (yes i struggled with the jump dash in the previous game how can you tell)
- The story is also more calm and silly goofy but in a good way (can def see what ppl mean by the diff eras in sonic writing there). I also liked Whisker being the main but kinda dumb villain for funnies vs the eggmans being a bigger threat)
-I liked the scene in the coral cave where Blaze appears bc my mind was half "haha i knew we were in Blaze's world, neat" and " weeee hi Blaze, game of the year :D"
-Marine was also neat, liked her silly dynamic of cheerful kid who is a bit too full of herself and is kind of a brat abt it, and how she later learns to admit her own limits :) And the koala villagers were neat too i like their designs :)
Overall thank you for letting me ramble into your ask box abt these games, its been fun :D
lmao yeah it's a nice incentive! I think the only other game that gives you a reward with higher ranks is Unwiished (another Dimps game), where the higher the rank the more medals you get.
also sonic 🤝 hector:having to earn their crafting materials
The missions are a good way to extend the gameplay, but IIRC some of the Sol Emerald missions were brutal... I have flashes of the Blizzard Peak mission.
The waterbike was genuinely really fun and I hated that it was considered the "worst" vehicle for travel :( I don't like the submarine, let me travel the world on my tiny waterbike while the best music plays :( also yeah the Special Stages with Johnny are original! Certainly more than Half Pipe 50.0
SRA'S OST was composed by veterans Tomoya Ohtani and Mariko Nanba while trying to recreate Naganuma's style. Definitely unique and underrated. Sky Babylon used to be my favorite too! But there are so many tracks that IMO deserve more love, like Haunted Ship, Blizzard Peaks, the boss theme and Whiskers & Johnny <3
Funny to think SRA came out one year after '06, widely criticized at the time for being too melodramatic :P Whiskers is also a nice case of Eggman being the twist villain for once! Although the credits of the "bad" ending spoil him and Nega, lol. Not that Whiskers looks mysterious himself... eh you get it.
Marine seems to have been reevaluated recently, like many things from the 2000s. I remember that back then no one could stand her and her Aussie accent lmao, precisely because she was an annoying brat. She is still mildly underrated, but I think the modern fandom generally "forgave" her because they understood that she was meant to be a foil for Tails, who is more insecure.
(two fun facts: in some countries, SRA initially got a 12+ rating because Marine says "bugger", which is pretty mild for Aussie slang but is much stronger for American standards. Also, Marine is Australian because in original she speaks in Kansai-ben, and I guess that was a way to recreate the cultural connotations! That and koalas :P)
You're welcome, you're free to rant at any time <3

For the SMT ask game, #14.
14. Best soundtrack
how could you Fucking do this to me. this is the most impossible task because almost every smt ost bangs and fucks and rips and i go to bat for 99% of them
but uhhh. i can divvy this up by era i think. and none of this is going to be coherent in any way but i think you should take my word as gospel because i'm right
The Early Years (1988-2000):
Majin Tensei II: SPIRAL NEMESIS
this shit SLAPS. the music in majten2 is, uh, quite frankly incredible on the SNES, and the composers (hidehito aoki, misaki okabe, yoshiyuki ito) were on some next-level shit when they scripted out bangers such as A.D. 1995 Story and Smash Up and remakes of two of the previous game's songs (which already were AWESOME) Flame Up Fragment and Bicarbonate of Face and and and,
idk play majin tensei. i'm about to become a majin tensei blogger and stan. did you know that almost all of the majin tensei manga is translated, and all that's left is the rest of vol 4 and all of vol 5? (grabbing your face) DID YOU KNOW!@!!!!
Shin Megami Tensei II
i mean. okay. you knew i was gonna bring this up. who do you fucking think i am. the whole game is wonderfully done and atmospheric, and even with the odd dumbass-theme playing in the BG i just, i dunno, i think it still gives me chills. loading up the game and watching the text scroll to the Title Demo is a lot, listening to that banging Battle theme is intense in a way that no other smt game has reached since IMO, and the Makai map theme is just... really sorrowful! these are the PSX songs because i prefer them over the muddied instruments they used for the original SNES game, but the original isn't bad either!
Megami Tensei II
i think everyone should bare minimum play Kyuuyaku Megami Tensei (2) at least once in their lives, but replace the ost with the original NES version because ohhh my gooooood holy shit there is SUCH a world of difference between the synths used vs the really muddied KMT instrumentation. that aside, the music is just... Good. the battle theme, Death Match, is incredibly intense, TOKIO Adventurer is a fun song to walk to on the overworld map (even being interrupted by demons every 2 steps), OMEGA is a REALLY good final boss theme... it's a bummer they don't get referenced more often! the last time they were was in Majin Tensei, and then again as a total throwaway in SMT5...
The 2000s (2000-2009):
Digital Devil Saga 2
both games go on this list imo, but i uh, i personally really like 2's ost more than 1's. i have no reason for this i just think it's nice. the battle theme Battle for Survival especially, but i just like the whole thing in general? sorry i have nothing else to say here
uhhh. i don't. have. anything else to put here. the other games in this category are good but their osts don't stand out to me... except for Strange Journey, which i. never finished. oougrhghhgfdnjdfjgdgh explodes IT'S SO GOOD THOUGH SO I?? HEARTILY RECOMMEND IT ANYWAY
The Recent Age (2010-Now):
Shin Megami Tensei V
don't talk to me about 5, but if you DO talk to me about 5, talk to me about its ost. of anything in that game, the music and sound direction REALLY stuck with me, it's probably the best the series has ever had to offer
i REALLY like Strength, and yes that is entirely because it feels like OMEGA of megami tensei 2 fame; but the regular battle theme Da'at is great too, and i spent an uncomfortably long time listening to fan recreations of it from the trailers because it was that fucking good to me. honestly the fact that there's so many different battle themes and they all slap is great, they're all fun to listen to. especially Destruction, like fuck dude did they really have to go that hard? (yes)
Soul Hackers 2
gnawing and chewing on 2's ost. i don't care how many people didn't like it, i did, and i think it's really well-done. very very atmospheric! Karakucho is wonderful, COMP SMITH is the GOAT (and i'm glad so many people agree with me!), and even the idiot theme, Cats and ladle, is... very cute! i never thought it out-of-place whenever the team started goofing off, since the idiot theme was never too jarring
... also, Battle of Devil Summoner is bumpin, i'm glad we got to hear this song so many times over the normal battle theme, because. hot damn
i'm not picking a favorite out of any of these are you kidding. except maybe majin tensei 2 that one is undoubtedly a beast. but like. i think everyone should play all of these games and experience their music and have your taste in music irrevocably changed against your will

If classic ain’t working how about some scores? You know videogames have scores which are supposed to keep your concentration up. Neat. Here are some of my faves from anime/games/films/series: The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gu55qbth1gM&list=PLohYzz4btpaRmwDylGaXWeaWcFGMS2S4_
Doctor Who (Oh Murray Gold, I listend to the Doctor Who Score before watching the show and only became interested in the show because of the score): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVYnpqbzpVA&list=PLJiQg8gfBfwwRdVPLG3wjeDAdQkyKldFb Never played Journey, because it used to be Playstation exlusive, but I’ve listend to the score (and maybe I’ll buy the PC version one day): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3hFN8UrBPw
Also never played Shadow of the Colossus: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmoYLtObCtY
I don’t know how much time I’ve spent playing Skyrim though: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWv3DfoiigM This list is not complete without the Mass Effect Trilogy score. So many great songs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gX1UuJMfQfk The Diablo III score used to be the music I’d listen to when I wanted to shut everything else out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkrA5R-he0k Which brings me to all the other Blizzard Games, most time I spent with StarCraft II: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7oTx0rhnHU&list=PL96A1D3209ECD24F0 Yes I’ve read the extended universe books...
But there is also the whole Warcraft Universe to explore score wise!
Oh look Age of Empires and Pharao. Games where my brother and I spend hours in. As last one for the games let me add the soundtrack of Gris: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJLhMhW5wa8 To name a few more: Assassin’s Creed, Deus Ex, Ori, Last of Us...
While the show was an utter failure in the end, the score was always good, aka Game of Thrones: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrB05z5kWvQ&list=PLWdLkUdrRPBsAkjeuGrvJ4NVp3Yy9w2Xj Kinda the same can be said about Sherlock: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hAUbKL-uwk&list=PL5g4Fki_QYDazvjpTCCNrScQej4s7Lzo4 The music for all Season of the Crown has been good so far: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQW-91LiISA&list=PLiCovXskLsng2R1La01BcCWy_RLYipgjR Naruto, what more is there to say? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQ0kEKKRWzk&list=PLF7A13C44809B5893 InuYasha: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDnem7HdC30&list=PL0469ED03FE85EE0A I love Fullmetal Alchemist with all my heart and I’m glad the story got adapted again by Brotherhood but the first series had the better score: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8OaiTN1K0E&list=PL073FC821892ADD13 All of Evangelion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDSySJImZlY&list=PL9KywyRG91y7t8KdL1B-DTqfcNJ9iDDBG
Did I get an imported version of the Bleach Soundtrack because I liked the series that much? Yes, I did. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLwFmryO-Yg&list=PL78361A6B10C2CEC9 I’ve mentioned One Piece before, there are a few songs I like but here is the entire score: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=daFi4MScfl8&list=PL1-UlPayLAco6yu-yQH0DJ1oxj32cgr6l Code Geass is weird, score is nice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1AVRq6KPxF4&list=PLaxwO0i96qCzjZNl7tqWXIdDLMndTT1-K I never liked Fairy Tail but the Soundtrack is epic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQwxKpu-HfA&list=PLO_6KdzGnpVkro75xZAljufJWlD6K5sxS I can say the same for Attack on Titan: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfAbX-Fg9N0&list=PLtKVsbX6mq9RvO__n08wujegVI0NsuNiu Same composer did Kill La Kill: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YllRGyLwPWY Air Gear is the only manga I’m still considering to buy, it’s sad that the anime was never continued except for 3 OVAs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LboMDcTPCrs&list=PLDDE3E644BB3B8464 Of course there is also Death Note: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yexm-CIIzf0&list=PL4BA0EB8FC7B4B020 Let’s move on to the filmscores and begin with Interstellar: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwkLZg6WDek&list=PLco_u-O9FeQ_cV5gc3VdUHoQYBI73MYkU Sadly the composer of the Sicario Score died and I think half of it’s greatness comes from the symbiosis of music and movie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6szgY-ZQ_0&list=OLAK5uy_nS_hWG9YAO03bZgMFewigayp5-WAfH6TE It’s easy to forget how nice the soundtrack of Inception was, probably because I’ve listend to it so much: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iaGLiXCIgbw&list=PLbQkZ0-M4gS3vI9IkX8P5_jxLSoM7wrZ7 Then there are the classics: Star Wars https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bzWSJG93P8&list=PLdKFtHTuSEuN3va3L9yj8bkJYTQfrMSIx (shoutout to the Rogue One Score), Lord of the Rings https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SBQvd6vY9s and Harry Potter https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UuPb1J_RCJM&list=PLYXfr3Na3Iuf8Kg__C6Fll5bapkVOXp9b woah...forgot to tag you @thelightinthesky  I hope this provides you with some music to listen to ;)

what are your song rankings for the cross the line album?
I haven't actually listened to the album yet, so I'll put it on in the BG as I do some chores and then let you know what I think.
Cross A Line - LOVED this. I don't know what to call this genre - I guess a mix of hip-hop and... jazz...? Smooth hip-hop? man idk - but it's one I really enjoy and one that I think Japanese hip-hop excels at. The radio theme is really fun, and the beats/rapping are very good. Compare this to some earlier songs, and you can see major improvement from many of the voice actors. I'm going to listen to this to death.
Enishi - DUDE. I love this too! The singing style (particularly at the beginning) is really in vogue in Japan right now, and I think that, combined with the emphasis on singing as a group, makes this song sound more like a typical idol series J-pop-esque song than you normally get in Hypmic. Even with that, though, there's still the trademark Dotsu Hon brass (the Dotsu Horns, if you will), but it's much more mellow and mature sounding for them. The lyrics (from what I can hear of them; I don't have them in front of me) and the singing alike are very beautiful. This kind of feels like Re:start to me in terms of pretty, chilled out music. Again, this rocks. I love it.
Ikebukuro West Block Party - BRUH. I like this one slightly less than the first two, I think, but this fucking slaps. I never like Hypmic songs this much on the first lesson. What are they doing on this album? Absolutely killing it! Jesus. Again, this one feels more idol song-y than you normally get in Hypmic, but the beat is EXCELLENT. I'm folding laundry right now - or supposed to be folding laundry, rather, as I think I did more grooving holding a pair of shorts than any actual folding. This would make a super fun dance song. Rapping is also great, esp. for Ichirou and Jirou. Dude, keep it up, Cross a Line, you are nailing it.
Scarface - (10 seconds in) FUCK!! (After listening) Sorry, I got excited there. First off, I fucking love Latin pop/rock, and when you mix it with hip-hop? mmmmMMMMMMMMMMMMMM THAT'S GOOD STUFF, BABY! I have five hands and they're all doing the pinching finger emoji. The singing on this was really smooth at the beginning. I'm not a super huge fan of the way they sung "paradise" (Samatoki low-key sounds like he's dying...) and I lost my mind at the "Say hello to my little friend" "What, these cockroaches?" "RRRR!!!" part midway through. Well... that's MTC for you! I'd never show this to someone I care about, but I'll love it and cherish it for a long time. And that's what's important.
Torima Get on the Floor - While I'm sitting through this H&M ad waiting for the video to load, I do have to say that I'm excited for this one. I know Afro Parker worked on it, and I love the fuck out of their work. Plus, if it's anything like the rest of this album, it's going to be right up my alley. (After listening) I think this is my least favorite so far, which isn't to say that I dislike it at all. It's very fun, but maybe only because I've listened to so many other things I really like first, it's not completely thrilling me. It fits in nicely with the theme of the album, and it's very catchy/fun to dance to. It sounds to me like a video game soundtrack song (like you'd hear in a shop, maybe). I can def. hear the Afro Parker sound at the end. Lyrics are fun, esp. with the call-outs (love Dice going "bullshit stories" and Gentarou going "Hm?") and the "gero-gero-get on the floor." I think this'll grow on me, esp. once I get used to Ramuda's voice in this. Gentarou sounds great in this one, for what it's worth.
Synchro City - Okay, this one's actually my least favorite on this CD for real. I think maybe because all the others have gone so hard that I'm just not feeling it. It's not bad at all, but it's not doing much of anything for me. That's kind of a shame, since I normally really like Matenrou songs - I think Doppo and Hifumi have great singing voices. (Incidentally, the kind of singing Jakurai is doing here sounds very nice. He doesn't usually straight-up sing like this.) There's been a lot of straight singing on this album, huh... Maybe that's why it feels more idol focused. These lyrics are very sweet, though. It's a nice, chill song, and I think I'll enjoy it more later. I don't know how I feel about in the midst of everything else that's more upbeat, though.
Dera Sugee Utage - (first two seconds) I see we're back to upbeat. (After listening) LOVE THIS TOO. This reminds me of RIP in a good way. SUPER catchy, and all the singing in this is on point, especially Kuukou's. I really like how his voice actor voices him and his accent in general. Super good one to dance to as well. Damn. DAMN!
In conclusion:
Tumblr media
Wow. I don't think I've enjoyed any Hypmic album as much as this one before. Apparently the secret to me enjoying something is to make it upbeat and put a lot of horns in it. What'd you guys think? I've been seeing a lot of positive responses to it. Is everyone in agreement that it's good?

BL Tag Game
thank you for tagging me my beloved mor @liyazaki ♥ i did this once with my friend kiddo bc we like to do these tag games privately amongst ourselves but nice to finally do this “properly” ^^ also taking some of your newly phrased questions and possibly making some of my own~
look at the original list of questions on mor’s post bc am too lazy to include them
tagging: @namchyoon @talaypuens @snimeat @icouldhyperfixatehim @hils79 @nongnaos @basvpr @machikeita no pressure as always and if you’ve already done this recently, link me!
placing under a cut bc there are sooo many gifs, am sorry!
current favorite bl character and why let’s make it known that there will never ever be a character like pran for me but bc bad buddy, sadly enough, isn’t airing anymore and is now kind of gone (oh we wish, the brainrot never leaves), i decided to take someone else. and that must be fah from sky in your heart. i was absolutely enamored by him from the moment i first saw him in star in my mind until the last second of the star and sky special ep. he is my man, my bean, my blorbo. i wish there had been more time and space for him to get explored more as a character bc i feel like mek poured everything he had in him into acting as fah but this is all i got and i need to survive. so all i can say is that i am happy to know that he is now learning about love and how it can belong into his life even if he does what he feels is his calling ♥
Tumblr media
mek jirakit the man that you are... dreamy sigh
one character from a bl you wanted to punt in to the stratosphere was trying very hard to think about the bls i’ve watched lately and pick someone from there but have to say that it takes a lot to annoy me these days, outside of the character being just one of the bad guys in the drama. but i do want to mention sing from triage who i wish would’ve gotten over his petulancy to talk about his own feelings for gap and would’ve made it known since the beginning that he actually cared. and theother one would be in from my dear loser: edge of 17/our skyy who i do find kind of funny to watch but who deserved a beating for being one of those guys who refuses to be called gay and then hurts the person they care about. i dunno if he’s been redeemed but my guy, grow a spine. sun deserves way better if you don’t.
Tumblr media
what we should’ve gotten more bc i knew sing was a damn softie
Tumblr media
boy is having not so straight realizations about himself and i am cackling in the corner, serves you right you moron
best music moment from a bl i’ve truly been appreciating some of the music in bls lately, probably bc the music has gotten better in general. once upon a time bls didn’t care about their title songs or anything at all. everything sounded the damn same and i never got attached to any of it. bad buddy changed me and not me was a whole chapter of its own (hoping more bls would take such amazing liberties with the bg music). currently am obsessed with vice versa’s title song. but the best music moment lately has been the eclipse’s title song in the official trailer which somehow resembles the song safe and sound by clngr they used in the first trailer (i am very emotionally attached to this ok, am sorry). i have somewhat high hopes for that show’s soundtrack ngl :’D
Tumblr media
the kiss in the first trailer still gives me chills like. damn. this show is going to wreck my whole ass, i feel it
Tumblr media
the mv for this is so stunning?? i love the song and the vibes so much
a bl you'd like to see adapted into a musical this question is inspired by the fact that ohmnanon’s fanmeeting felt like bad buddy the musical. it was so cool. 10/10 would do that again. but then it had me thinking that dang some of the bls could really work as hsm type of musicals. my first picks after bad buddy would be the shipper (imagine the chaos?? the stuff they could do with the body swapping! the costumes for the angels!! give it to me) and enchanté (they could do a whole ass love songs montage and i would be over the moon. also the pining happening through songs!! am shaking screaming weeping on the floor).
Tumblr media
what legendary hsm song is this, i’d say can i have this dance (imagine akktheo slow dancing... maybe at their wedding sob)
a scene from a bl that always makes you laugh wow i feel like i just suddenly forgot what i’ve laughed at ever in my life other than the worst puns known to a man. but if i think back on some of the first bls i ever watched, i gotta say that in together with me, which i will forever think of fondly mind you, i will always laugh at the scene when in one of the first eps knock’s gf comes to visit his home and knock is trying to be a good bf and takes her around the market and bc he gets distracted by a phone call, he ends up grabbing korn’s hand instead of hers. his face is just so good when he walks hand in hand with who he thinks is his gf and then suddenly stands face to face with her and you can see the wheels turning inside his head while he tries to understand how it’s possible :’D
(tried finding a gif of this but ppl have only focused on the sexy times so no luck lol)
biggest bl disappointment i try my best to get into bls without any expectations (and we ignore vice versa in this ok, that one is a black sheep and i don’t even understand why). but if i think about actual disappointments - and now i don’t mean shows i thought were actually just bad and scarred me for life - i gotta say he’s coming to me. i still remember when i got into it bc i was curious about the plot and was happy to see ohm in another bl (i did watch make it right ages ago and liked him in it). i was feeling strange about singto since the beginning but thought it wouldn’t bother me too much. but the fact is that it was very hard to see any chemistry between the two. there was just... something about them that never sat right with me. otherwise the series is amazing. it’s just sad that the main couple lacking that spark leaves it kind of plain :/ idk why the casting choices were like this at the time but obviously they were struggling to find a guy who could play a character coming from another timeline (not to have the ohmnanon goggles on but wish we had had nanon in 55:15 back then).
Tumblr media
god i’ve really forgotten how Young ohm is in this?? like that is a literal baby, barely out of braces
two random bl characters who would be besties oh dang, now that i started thinking about it, i kind of want to say talay form vice versa and sangwoo from semantic error. i spontaneusly binged semantic error the other day and i loved it a lot. sangwoo operating like a computer was very amusing to me and i feel like talay would click with him with his color theory brain. they could both whine about how nonsensical love is and how they absolutely do not need it while having adoring bfs at home haha. but i also feel like they both would understand how scary it is to fall in love in that type of situation and how hard it can be to let go of your heart, to allow it to feel.
Tumblr media
my beloved!! you will know love like nobody else, i swear
Tumblr media
another beloved. just a tiny baby. fits inside my pocket. would probably swat at me and then hiss
the bl that got you into bl and would you make other ppl watch it now the bl that got me into bl or just the first bl i ever watched was this 2016 series grey rainbow. it’s a very short but angsty one and i cried my eyes out. dunno why i wanted to start with something like this but it’s probably good i did. at least i didn’t start with some high school nonsense straight away and instead eased my way into it. then, would i make other ppl watch it today? absolutely. am so happy kiddo watched this and liked it. i am very fond of this one even if i can barely remember anything else but my own heartbreak.
best wardrobe moment/or character wardrobe from a bl i could mention everyone in not me but that feels like too much of a cliché. i could also mention pat and pran but i don’t truly dress like that myself. so i will once again settle on the absolute fashion icon that is khai in theory of love. he has the exact style i wish i could have for myself. i adore him so much. honorary mentions go to vegas and tay from kinnporsche the series bc i love them and i really wanna steal tay’s gender ♥
Tumblr media
the epitome of if evil why sexy
Tumblr media
he is so beautiful i want to eat my own arm
thank you if you read this far! sorry i went very off road with many of these. have a wonderful day everyone! ♥

Best Underrated Anime Group B Round 3: #B5 vs #B6
#B5: Amateur college track team aims for big race
#B6: High school drama in a countryside farming school
Details and poll under the cut!
Tumblr media
#B5: Run with the Wind (Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru)
youtube
Summary:
Former ace runner of Sendai Josei High School, Kakeru Kurahara is chased away from a convenience store for shoplifting. Shaking off his pursuer, he runs into Haiji Kiyose, another student from his university. Haiji is impressed by Kakeru's agility and persuades him to live in Chikusei-sou, the run-down apartment where Haiji resides along with eight other students. Having lost his entire apartment deposit at a mahjong parlor, Kakeru accepts the offer reluctantly.
However, Haiji reveals a secret during Kakeru's welcoming party: the apartment is actually the dormitory of the Kansei University Track Club. He unveils his ultimate goal of participating in the Hakone Ekiden—one of the most prominent university marathon relay races in Japan. Unfortunately, all the residents apart from Haiji and Kakeru are complete running novices. Worse still, none of the inhabitants are even remotely interested in being involved with Haiji's ridiculous plan! With only months before the deadline, will the fourth-year student be able to convince them otherwise and realize his elusive dream of running in the Hakone Ekiden?
Propaganda 1:
Okay so, finally a sports anime that isn’t set in high school. (There aren’t nearly enough set in college.) MC is basically Older Running Kageyama, in both looks and personality. He has to overcome his past issues with his old track team, and learn to open up. I love the relationships that form between the team members. There’s one who is just Not Here for It and struggles A Lot, who just wants to go home and read manga. (Hey it me.) There’s also a cute dog, and a lot of the bg music is by the same folks as Haikyuu.
Tumblr media
#B6: Silver Spoon (Gin no Saji)
youtube
Summary:
Yuugo Hachiken is studious, hard-working, and tired of trying to live up to expectations he just cannot meet. With the ushering in of a brand new school year, he decides to enroll in Ooezo Agricultural High School, a boarding school located in the Hokkaido countryside, as a means to escape from the stress brought upon by his parents. Initially convinced that he would do well at this institution, Hachiken is quickly proven wrong by his talented classmates, individuals who have been living on farms their entire lives and know just about everything when it comes to food, vegetables, and even the physiology of livestock! Whether it be waking up at five in the morning for strenuous labor or to take care of farm animals, Hachiken is a complete amateur when it comes to the harsh agricultural life. Gin no Saji follows the comedic story of a young student as he tries to fit into a completely new environment, meeting many unique people along the way. As he struggles to appreciate his surroundings, Hachiken hopes to discover his dreams, so that he may lead a fulfilling life on his own terms.
Propaganda:
This show provides an honest look at the ups and downs of farm life, with both the hard work it takes and the satisfaction it provides. The cast is varied and likeable, with every character having more to them than meets the eye. I loved watching the main character's development from an insecure city kid to a confident, well rounded young man.
The information about farming and agriculture is also detailed and interesting - the series creator grew up on a farm and you can tell.
Trigger Warnings: Animal Cruelty/Death. It’s a show about the farming industry, and there’s an arc about the characters coming to terms with animals they’ve grown attached to.

For the ask thing: 1, 7, 10, 16, 42, 74, 99 (if this is not too much 😣❤)
it’s never too much!
1: 6 of the songs you listen to most?
I actually don’t listen to music very often mostly because I like to really listen to it and not have it in the background. Instead I usually have twitch/youtube videos playing for bg noise. I guess these are the songs I’ve been listening to the most lately (in no particular order)
Wellerman by the Longest Johns
Here’s a Health to the Company by the Longest Johns
Oak & Ash & Thorn by the Longest Johns
Ashes by the Longest Johns
Quarter Past Midnight by Bastille
Bad Decisions by Bastille
that list feels embarrassing lol
7: What’s your strangest talent?
this assumes I’ve got talents in the first place jkjk
maybe my ability to adapt to things? like I can match people’s mannerisms and vibes pretty quickly and easily. I’m also quick to pick up on things which makes me a fairly quick learner. idk if that counts as strange though
10: When is the last time you played the air guitar?
maybe some time in elementary school if I was forced to do it, otherwise I always thought it was dumb and wouldn’t do it. plus I’m more of a pianist than a guitarist
16: Simple but extremely complex. Favorite band?
bastille. I really love their music they always sound so good and upbeat but the lyrics are always depressing when you think about it.... depressive bops
also their songs are always political-ish and it’s nice to hear their opinions on things rather than just making songs about love and sex or whatever
42: Do you like the smell of gasoline?
absolutely not
74: What’s a song that always makes you happy when you hear it?
forbidden friendship from httyd it’s such a great soundtrack and the best scene in any movie ever. it also gives me a lot of nostalgia
99: If the whole world were listening to you right now, what would you say?
I would not talk for as long as possible. The thought that everyone can hear me is terrifying and I’d try to wait it out until that isn’t a thing anymore.
but maybe I’d try to say something cheesy and inspirational like “nothing is more humbling than seeing a picture of earth from space and learning just how small and insignificant we are in comparison to the rest of the universe. and yet, this planet is the world to us. everything that happens here, while it would mean nothing to the universal gods, is our entire world. so maybe there’s a value and importance in making this place as good as we can. to help others rather than hurt, because we’re all we have and we can make it great.”

Hi Guys!
Sorry the update is coming a little late. I’ve been putting it off just because, well, I’ve been busy. Sometimes it’s hard to get out of work mode and into update mode. Which is basically the last few days for me!
Writing:
I've been working on Caleb's route and have the potato draft of chapter three done, and have started editing it. I really wanted to do more but have actually been feeling kind of bad this past week with off and on sinus pressure. Seasons are changing here and it's really throwing me off.
After feeling like someone was stepping on my face for three days this week, it was a relief to not have the sinus pressure yesterday…
Only for it to return today.
Regardless, Chapter three is nearly done and I suspect I'll get started on Chapter four before the weekend is out.
Art:
This week we received all the final backgrounds for the interior of Lance's house as well as one additional BG for New Terra.
One group is starting to work on some of the backgrounds for Pythia and Cestrescir, one artist has been working on a BG for Caissa's house for a while (she's a bit slower than some of the other artists) and another has started a third background for New Terra.
So backgrounds are chugging along.
You can see some of the ones we've gotten here:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In other news, I've been playing around with some GUI design elements. A lot of our screens are based around having six LIs - the title screen, the endings list, the galleries, the profiles…
All of these pages have to be redesigned. With some, it's as simple as redoing the list of names. For other screens it's a little more complicated.
The title screen, for instance, needs a complete overhaul if we still want to show all the LIs on the screen when the player opens the game. This will probably mean condensing several of the buttons with an "Extras" button that will lead to a new screen.
GUI design isn’t really my favourite thing to do but I do think the new title screen mockup looks quite nice and I’m thinking I may try to get it coded and set up before we release the update to the demo (more info on when that will be down below).
I’m not sure all the other screens will be updated by then. Most of them just require adjusting the name list to include the new characters - a small change, to be sure. But I’d rather spend time working on other contend for now.
Coding:
I've been considering a feature that I really wanted to implement in Changeling but didn't really have the skill or time or ability to do it. I still...really want to do it in GS…
And I think I’m going to be making movements in the general direction of making it happen.
I ended up getting very distracted on making mock-ups and doing some research on coding a feature like this into the game. This is basically the main thing that ate my time and kept me from updating until now. Oops!
That said, I really would be excited to be able to add this feature so I hope I work out the details and can start looking into starting to work on it!
Music:
We received two new tracks from our composer, Tobi. I really like them both.
I've been holding off updating the demo for that reason.  I'd rather not continue using placeholder music because that means we'll have to do another demo update just to get the real music in at some point. And I don't really want to do that.
I also don't want the demo to have different music than the game.
So I think I'll be waiting to update the demo until our music is complete.
That said, the music is turning out so wonderfully that I honestly can’t wait to share it with everyone. The soundtrack of this game is going to be completely amazing. <3
Upcoming Weeks:
Basically writing...and some of the above stuff. While writing will remain my main focus for the foreseeable future, there are always other things to do.
Getting new screen designs and other things going will be something I work on too.
Hopefully by the end of the week I have Caleb’s Chapter Five at least started, in addition to maybe having a new title screen set up and coded. I’ll be sure to show you guys either a screen cap or mock up of the title screen next week - depending how far along that process is!
Until then!

toAnother tag game cause tbh, I got nothing better to do
Tagged by @thebraxiatelcollection !
Are you staying at home from work or school?
i’m currently unemployed so staying at home, though i’m also trying to like, get some freelance stuff done!
If you’re staying home, who’s with you?
Sadly, my family :/
Are you a homebody?
I like staying at home, but i hate this current house & not having space for myself so it really depends tbh. Also like. It’s nice to be able to go out and get away from people from time to time as well, i miss that
An event that you were looking forward to that got cancelled.
The Annecy Festival in June, I went for the first time last year and I genuinely consider that one of the best week of my entire life, so i was really looking forward to seeing my friends again and also going to the MIFA and being able to have some more networking possibilities
What movies have you watched recently?
I haven’t watched a lot of movies lately, but the 2 most recents are Detective Pikachu & On the Silver Globe
What shows are you watching?
I’ve been watching the Prisoner, as well as rewatching some Doctor Who, both new & classic (and srsly, bless Emily Cook & the whole Doctor Who Lockdown group, it’s giving me a great time at each rewatch!)
What music are you listening to?
Lately i’ve been listening to the Persona series soundtrack tbh, especially the one from P5r, tho I also love the P2 soundtrack. As well a NIN’s new Ghosts albums, both are great to put in the BG while drawing (though with very different vibes)
What are you reading?
Currently reading Warring States, from faction paradox, as well as slowly but surely making my way through the time hunter series!
What are you doing for self care?
Honestly? not sure i’m really succeeding at the self care thing tbh. Napping a bit? Drawing a lot, and doing some 3D stuff as well
uuuh, I again never know who to tag, so i’m just going to list a few people, feel free to do it if you want tho!
