Spoilers for The Last of Us Part 2

I could talk for hours about TLoU 2 and it’s uses of parallels between characters and parts of the story but there’s one that I’ve been thinking about for a while that I think more people need to appreciate and that’s Abby and Levs journey and Joel and Ellie’s Journey in Part 1.

Like Abby tearing through her own men on the Seraphite island, the people who took her in after she was displaced from the fireflies because she had her eyes opened to the fact that what they were doing wasn’t right and that her only path was to destroy anything in the way of her saving the one person she has left to care about, Lev.

Even when we see the transition to Abby in Santa Barbara it starts with a shot of converse leading the player to believe it’s Ellie but panning out to reveal Lev and Abby. In this section their dynamic perfectly mirrors that of late game 1 Joel and Ellie, with the awkward jokes and constant concern for eachother.

I could say so much more about them (don’t get me started on Ellie and Levs names both meaning light and the whole ‘When lost in the darkness look for the light’ thing)

In conclusion I love them and they deserve absolutely none of the hate they get

i would like to talk with the people that came up hanyu pinyin. it’s supposed to be for people already familiar with the latin alphabet. but as someone familiar with the latin alphabet and how it is used for multiple languages, i do not think the people making pinyin were actually familiar with how the latin alphabet is used in any language. we’re genuinely better off transcribing everything into IPA. sure ipa is a bitch to learn but then i’d understand that “q” is pronounced “tch” and “g” is pronounced “k” - that last one actually makes me so mad the explanation on wikipedia is that “g” is pronounced like “k” so why didn’t they just use “k”??? it’s because “k” is supposed to be aspirated but i have an easy fix: “kh.” there’s your aspiration. it’s not perfect but it sure is less confusing than assigning pronunciations to a latin letter that literally not a single soul uses

Just let us wait for a year, distract us with a bunch of events, and mass drop like 40 chapters 😭

I’m about to go on a rampage.

While I was away at college, my mom apparently was giving her friend (that was out of state) a tour around the house. When she came into my room and saw my Mario poster, she told my mom, “I thought you said your daughter was in her 20s”

THEN she has the audacity to look around my room (sees all my action figures and plushies) and say “it looks like a child lives in here”

Thankfully my mom stood up for me but OH BOY IF I WAS THERE.

Being overworked, on top of being stressed about not having a plan for the first day of a class I reluctantly volunteered to teach in three days, on top of wanting to draw, on top of being to tired to draw, has lead to me getting absolutely nothing done.
