soldier might be reckless but wouldnt deliberately hurt himself

demo might drink himself into oblivion to avoid his problems but also wouldnt do anything deliberate

scout excessively runs until he nearly passes out when hes dealing with shit which could constitute as self harm. he has poor emotional regulation skills

engineer is similar, throwing himself into his work to avoid his problems but also he cut off his own hand so he probably isnt above deliberate self harm. probably views it as a "solution" to a problem/a valiant effort to solve his problems

pyro probably played with lighters and matches when they were a teen and would burn themself for a sense of control. often gets too close to fire because of the comfort, isnt afraid to die

heavy will hit himself/deliberately bruise himself/punch things until his knuckles bleed, blames himself for a lot of things, feels he needs to carry a lot on his shoulders

spy snuffs out his cigarettes on his wrists when hes upset. needs a sense of control to bring him comfort. has some kind of past that makes him feel disgusted with himself sometimes, hurting himself makes him feel like he can perform better on the battlefield

sniper has very low self esteem and is passively suicidal, gets in relationships with men who treat him like shit/gets in fights and lets himself get beaten to a pulp. is similar to heavy in that he hits himself and leaves bruises. likes the idea of nursing physical wounds instead of dealing with emotional ones

medic has been actively cutting his arms/thighs with medical scalpels for 30 years on-and-off, goes through phases of cutting and then swearing off it for months before relapsing. addicted to the control and thrill it gives him. possible history with neglect/abuse/sa. feels like something is really wrong with him (there probably is) and at this point cutting is a comfort. has almost bled out and died more times than he could count when he gets carried away with it
