According to Ali Ahn's interview with Rotten Tomatoes, Patti Lupone improvised the line "what a scary bitch" about Rio joins the Coven in the 4th episode of Agatha All Along.
idk why this is important to me but it is.

Intellectually I know that Patti Smith, Björk and Tori Amos are icons and music giants but on a more instinctual level I know we aren't giving them the credit they deserve, "genius" is a word that doesn't even begin to cover the dephts of these women's minds. We must create new words for them.

this is slowly becoming one of my favourite ever bruce songs.
one of the things i think about often is a performance when patti saw this as a sign request i think early in the 2010s? or late 2000s? anyway then she asks bruce to play it, then they both start crying (but do a pretty good job hiding it) while playing and i think it’s because it brought back memories of when they played it back in tunnel of love era and what they felt for each other playing it all those nights… and how far they have come since then. how haunting this song is… wow.

death’s hand in mine… the writer here is serving pure unadulterated moffat, which is a massive compliment in my books. the ‘pulled back and forward through time’ trick was obviously done in loki so it’s not as impressive the second time round (ha) but still manages to tug at the heartstrings and throw you for a time loop (somebody help i cant stop making dad jokes about time travel)
basically the writers over at marvel adore doctor who and cannot keep their hands off it and honestly who wouldn’t want to emulate the greatest televisual story ever told? and i’m being soooo unbiased and impartial here, obviously, don’t question it. no plagiarism going on don’t you worry, only inspiration, same inspiration mike flanagan’s been at for a solid five years (straight up quoting “it’s not a ghost story it’s a love story”, etc etc) . point is, wherever our little show goes, even if disney pulls funding, even if russell continues to flush its respectability down the drain of irrelevance, it will never fade from view. all timey-wimey tales on mainstream tv now and forever xoxo

I'll be honest, I wasn't entirely sold on The Ballad Of The Witches' Road at the beginning, but I've listened to it again a couple of times since the episode and now I'm obsessed. The almost muted initial verse building up and up and up? The basso continuo? The surprise canon? The strings on the final verse? Patti LuPone straight-up belting "DOWN DOWN DOOOOWN DOWN DOWN DOOOOWN" like there's no tomorrow? Yes I will be following all of you to glory at the end queens!!!

Who do you think was the most and less screwed up by Northern Songs? In the end, that affected all of them.
For what I understand:
The less affected one was Ringo because he didn't publish anything in Northern Songs. Like George, he didn't renovate his contract in 1968 and, unlike George, he didn't get rid of his 0.8% share immediately. Ringo already had his own publishing company where he registered his two written contributions.
Paul and John obviously were affected once that someone else got the majority of the company. Before that each of them had 16% of the shares. It might seem low but that cut was made specifically to reduce the tax burden of the main holders, them included. So during the good years, they profited plenty.
George was the most affected one. He got 0.8% like Ringo so no matter how many songs he created, he would always get 0.8% of that while others (like John, Paul, Brian, etc) would get more. He wasn't considering a partner of the company but a contracted songwriter. To put a bit context: He had 0.8% of publishing rights of "Wonderwall music" even if he wrote the album by himself. That's why he wrote 'Only a Northern Song' which made everyone uncomfortable at the time.
Also due to external circumstances, George's family will never get the rights to the songs George published before the White album. There is a law that gave John's rights to Yoko because John died before 25 years of his songs creation and another one gave Paul his because it's been 55 or something years. George died both too late and too soon to benefit from any of those laws so whoever owns the company will have the rights to those George's songs until the copyrights expire in 2081
