Honestly, my favorite thing that Anne Rice would write about ANY of her vampires is them watching TV. Armand voraciously consuming any and every movie he can find. Pandora aggressively ignoring Marius to stare at a screen for days on end. Louis living in squalor without electricity but showing up in Lestat’s house whenever he wants to catch his shows.

Like, can you imagine rising from your coffin at night, feasting on the blood of a human to sustain your unnatural existence, then being like “Oh, I should get home in time to catch SNL.” Or watching the fucking Shopping Network all night?

Tonight: Culinarian Stuff

He legit didn't plan on becoming a Culinarian for more than just learning how to make food he missed. Being an adventurer is EXPENSIVE at first, and he couldn't afford good food beyond what Momodi sometimes gave him on discount because she saw how homesick he was. Then someone mentioned that the Guildmaster at the Bismark will let anyone sign up as long as they actually want to be decent at making food.

Lyngsath took one look at this smol albino Hyur who barely reached his waist and mentally went "I must feed this child". Especially when Theo told him he wanted to learn because he missed food from home, oh this tiny Hyur needs Fathering.

And Lyngsath is canonically a father to his guild even if they don't always appreciate it.

Much to his surprise Theo found out he's actually pretty good at this! Recipes mean that there's a nice solid routine to follow, yay autism, but also he's got a knack for spotting when something is about to go wrong and compensating for it.

Being Properly Good at something gave him the feels and he spent about a fortnight in Limsa after delivering General Raubahn's letter pretty much living in the kitchens doing nothing but eating, sleeping in a corner, cooking, and bathing when he was pushed out the door with orders to have a proper bath before he came back. Thankfully his routine always involved 'bath or shower = clean clothes'.

He was so embarassed when he realised he'd forgotten to take Kan-E-Senna's letter and he gave her a fresh batch of chocolate chip biscuits to apologise for the delay, unwittingly winning her over. He still has no idea that's why she decided he was Good People.

Raubahn got a nice hot meat and three veg meal delivered right to his desk at the Immortal Flames for his apology, and the Sultana got a box of handmade animal chocolates.

He feeds people now. He's especially popular in Little Ala Mhigo (because he learned their style of cooking and makes huge batches every time he visits because everyone deserves comfort food) and The Waking Sands/Rising Stones/Crystarium. He just keeps making food for everyone!

He's probably made more friends through doing this than through being the Warrior of Light. Lyngsath is so proud!
