A Surprise at the Café
Paring: Benoftheweek (Youtuber) x Reader (Mainly Female)
Summary: One special day at your favourite coffee shop fate brings you closer to someone you couldn't imagine meeting
This story is a response to the post made 3 years ago - Here's the link to that post
After a grueling day of college classes, I sought solace in the familiar routine of grabbing a warm drink from the nearby coffee shop. As I waited for my latte, I pulled out my phone and scrolled through my subscriptions, eager to unwind with a Benoftheweek video.
The latest upload caught my eye, and I eagerly tapped on it. Ben's videos always brought me a sense of comfort, like catching up with an old friend. Lost in his latest adventure, I barely noticed the bustling crowd around me until I collided with someone while reaching for my drink.
Startled, I looked up to apologize, only to find myself face to face with none other than Ben himself. My heart raced with disbelief as I realized who he was. I'd been a fan of his videos for years, and now here he was, standing right in front of me.
Ben's kind eyes softened as he noticed the coffee stains on my jeans and sweater. Without hesitation, he offered me his hockey hoodie to cover up the mess. As I slipped into the oversized hoodie, a wave of joy and warmth washed over me. It was like wearing a piece of his world.
Feeling giddy with excitement, I asked Ben for a selfie to capture the unexpected moment. He chuckled warmly and obliged, his arm wrapping around me in a friendly embrace.
Ben insisted on buying me another coffee and a muffin to make up for the mishap, even though I knew it was my fault. We found a cozy spot to sit and chat, the conversation flowing effortlessly between us.
Curious about the hoodie, I asked Ben about his interest in hockey. Surprisingly, he admitted that he wasn't much into the sport but collected jerseys because he liked the way they looked.
Ben's eyes fell on my bag, noticing the array of books and a laptop peeking out from within. "So, what major are you taking?" he asked, genuine curiosity shining in his eyes.
"I'm studying Journalism," I replied with a smile, feeling a spark of pride at sharing my chosen field of study. "It's actually my first year here."
"Ah, journalism! That's awesome," Ben exclaimed, nodding appreciatively. "Gotta love the power of words. You'll do great, I'm sure."
I thanked him, feeling a rush of encouragement from his words.
Then, with a mischievous twinkle in his eye, Ben leaned in closer and quipped, "Well, at least the coffee didn't decide to make your books and laptop its next victims. That would've been a real headline: 'Coffee Spill Disaster Strikes New Journalism Student!'"
We both chuckled at his joke, the tension from the accidental collision melting away into shared laughter. It was moments like these that made unexpected encounters truly memorable.
As we continued talking, I glanced out the coffee shop window that had the reflection the clock and realized how quickly time had flown. I needed to get back to my apartment soon.
Sensing my dilemma, Ben offered to drive me home. Grateful for the gesture, I accepted, and we chatted animatedly during the short drive.
During the drive, I couldn't help but notice the pom-poms dangling from the car's ceiling. I remembered the video where Ben decorated them, feeling like I was right there with him during that moment.
"Those pom-poms are adorable," I remarked, unable to contain my smile as I touched one lightly.
Ben laughed, a warm sound that filled the car. "Thanks! I thought they added a fun touch to the car."
"They definitely do," I replied, feeling a rush of gratitude for the shared connection, however small.
As we pulled up to my building I gathered my belongings, preparing to step out of the car, Ben turned to me with a hesitant expression. "Hey, before you go, I was wondering if… would you be interested in going out for dinner sometime? I had a really great time talking to you, and I'd love to get to know you better."
My heart skipped a beat at his unexpected invitation. "I would love to," I replied, feeling a surge of excitement coursing through me. "Here, let me give you my number."
We exchanged phones, inputting our contact information, before reluctantly parting ways. Before I closed the door, Ben reached into the backseat and handed me one of his favorite caps as a parting gift.
"Consider it a token of our unexpected meeting," he said with a charming grin.
I thanked him profusely, feeling incredibly grateful for the unexpected gesture.
As I watched him drive off into the night, I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. One of my biggest dreams had just come true, all thanks to a chance encounter at a coffee shop. As I settled in for the night, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement for the future date with Ben and the endless possibilities it held.

Don't Let Doubts Hold You Back Event Story Summary
TL;DR: Honami has been asked to be the class coordinator for the upcoming choir concert. However, the class is completely split on whether or not they should do a simple or challenging song. The class leaves it up to Honami to make the final decision by the next week.
Honami is nervous about that choice, though. Though she thought she'd gotten over her fear of not being liked after joining Leo/need, there's still lingering hesitation. MEIKO, the newest arrival to the School SEKAI and resident drummer, offers some advice. She helps Honami realize that showing kindness is varied, and sometimes, the kindest choices require taking a stand, even if it might make some people upset.
At the next meeting, Honami begins by delivering a speech to try and quell the tensions. She explains that there are no perfect solutions, but they still need to make a decision or they'll never stop fighting. She wants to find the choice that will satisfy everybody in some way. Honami proposes doing the harder song while developing a manageable practice schedule that works for everyone. Through their hard work, Honami's class ended up winning the gold medal.
While helping out at her livehouse, Shiho is approached by the lead singer of STANDOUT, Iori. STANDOUT will be debuting soon, but is looking to switch their bassist. She asks if Shiho would join her band.

Tumblr media
Chapter 1: Saki ambushes Honami in the hallway and gives her a big hug. Ichika asks if they can practice that difficult part during practice, while also checking in on how things are going with her classmates. Everything has been going great, luckily. After Saki and Ichika leave, one of Honami's classmates asks if she wants to come get pancakes after school, but declines due to band practice. Honami's glad she can be honest with them now.
At practice in SEKAI, everyone's surprised by Luka and Miku's absence. They discuss the upcoming school choir concert a bit before going to look for them. Down the hallway, Honami hears someone playing drums. When they open the door, they're met with a new face: MEIKO.
Chapter 2: Luka and Miku were with MEIKO as well. MEIKO manifested because the girls have managed to move forward with their feelings. Ichika asks to hear the three play together before they start rehearsal. They play Leo/need's song, which sounds completely different with the added drummer. Honami wonders if she'll ever be as confident as MEIKO.
Chapter 3: Honami's class begins preparing for the choir concert. Emu's super excited for the event. The teacher assigns Honami as class coordinator, much to her surprise. During homeroom that day, Honami begins by asking for song selections. Emu wants to do a cheerful but difficult song, but some other students want to do a simpler song that doesn't require as much time commitment. The class begins arguing about the songs. To try and quell this, Honami puts it to a vote. It ended up in a split tie. Her classmates tell her to make the decision, but the bell rings before she can. Honami doesn't know what to do.
Chapter 4: Emu approaches Honami after and asks if she's okay. Emu wants to do a happy song, but more than that, she wants Honami to not feel so stressed about the decision. She offers her help before leaving.
Honami tells her band about the conundrum later that day. Saki suggests finding a compromise, but Shiho points out that would just make everyone unhappy. Saki tries offering apple pies to make Honami feel less stressed, but she turns it down. Shiho understands that Honami is scared of being disliked for her opinion, but at the end of the day, that will happen no matter what. She should do what she feels is right.
After rehersal, Honami decides to stay back and practice on her own. Noticing her down mood, MEIKO follows. She reassures Honami that its not a bad thing she wants to be so worried about this, since it shows she cares.
Chapter 5: MEIKO asks why Honami is scared to be disliked for that decision, so Honami explains her past bullying. Even though she thought she'd gotten over that after joining the band, it still haunts her. MEIKO then asks what kindness means to Honami. She realizes it's both understanding others and being honest with them; she can still be kind to others while taking a stance.
Chapter 6: A few mornings later, Emu approaches Honami again and asks if there's anything she can do to help with the choir concert. She asks Emu conduct a survey on her classmate's opinions.
Later at band practice, Shiho praises Honami for her improved drumming. The drums form the foundation that allow the other members to play better, so even though she's not as good as MEIKO yet, it's a good start. It helps to not be so worried about the choir concert, too. No matter what happens, Leo/need with have her back. Behind the scenes, MEIKO and Luka tease Miku about her pouting that she wasn't the one to help out this time.
Chapter 7: The class meets again to discuss the song. Before they can start arguing again, Honami, though nervous, gives a speech about how there is no perfect solution, but she wants to find the one that makes everyone happy in some way. She also calls for them to be more understanding of the other viewpoint. Her words managed to get through to the class. Honami ultimately chooses the harder song, but proposes ways to minimize the time needed for practice, like recording sessions and having sections work together.
Chapter 8: After the concert, Leo/need discuss how fun it was. Honami's class managed to win gold with their phenomenal performance. Honami thanks the others for all their help with finding the courage to speak to the class. Honami also separately thanks MEIKO for the advice.
At work, Shiho helps her manager put up posters for upcoming events. She hears buzz about a band who will be debuting with a label soon called STANDOUT. They're rumored to be trying to switch out their bassist. Coincidentally, their vocalist, Iori, arrives and asks if Shiho would join her band.

Hi!! I hope you're having a great day/night/afternoon!! I used to watch your OC videos all the time when I was younger!! Glad to see you uploading on YouTube again, and I loved your Kai video!! I was wondering if you have any tips (or tricks) for character ref sheets, as I'm currently developing one for an OC of mine! I already have a backstory, a color palette, as well as references, but I'm not sure how to go from there. The character themself (as in like body size), clothing designs, accessories, the placement of everything on the ref sheet? You, of course, don't have to reply to this, but any comments would help!!
Hi! Thanks so much for watching my videos! I think this is a fantastic question. I love making character sheets, and I'd do them a lot more often if they weren't so time consuming. (Though, they don't have to be -- I think its a me problem lol!) But they're SUPER handy both for whoever you may commission to draw them, and yourself if said character has a detail heavy design. Even if this character sheet is just for you, I think it's fun to look at it from the perspective of a hypothetical someone who desires to cosplay (or draw or 3D model) your character and needs a sheet in which to ref from! What things do you think they'd need? I absolutely recommend making a few notes of what you want to spotlight, and doing some thumbnails on how you want to section things out. (they don't have to be this neat, like, AT ALL lmao)
Tumblr media
What angles would be helpful to see? What particular accessories would someone value a closer a closer look at?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These refs of Kai and Samos are a little old now, but I don't consider them out of date even though there's a few things I'd change! Here I have a fairly clear idea of what both characters look like from the front and back, while highlighting important stuff like Samos' front pockets' which are partially covered by the sash. If you have the room, you could even add things like extra props/accessories to give the artists you potential commission things to have your OC interact with. Or! facial expressions to give them a good visual of their personality.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As for extra clothing designs I'd make a separate sheets using a premade character base and play dress up with them like a paper doll.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If there's a detail heavy prop the OC in question has on them frequently (like a satchel or a weapon) a mini ref sheet just for that thing might be useful! You could showcase all the pockets in a bag or how magic looks being casted out of a staff. I hope any of this was helpful! I wouldn't get too caught up in aesthetics or the structure of the sheet, because you'll get a feel for that as you work. If you enjoy doing it, and find it worth your while to invest more time in, make multiple sheets! Of the stuff they keep in their bag, what their favorite foods are, likes and dislikes, hairstyles, ect. Even if it stops being a ref for art, it's fun to just have more visuals to learn about a character.

what's wolf quest?
Okokokokokok, so it’s a game my sister and I have been playing since we were kids! They upload frequent devlogs to YouTube, and you can see their development history here!
Also, I was talking abt it in the tags of another post, they try to keep this game as optimized as they can for low-end pcs. They keep the poly count low on the maps to keep performance maintained, and I’ve seen them mention it on hellroaring mountain devlogs. I’ve also played in servers with people with laptops that aren’t super expensive, and they ran it fine other than the occasional jitters (and I think running a server is a little more intensive, but it was honestly fine, though they did transfer the server to me and someone else to let their laptop cool off a bit :]).
youtube
But it’s basically an accurate-as-they-can wolf game (while still making it fun)! It starts as a lone wolf, you find a mate, start a litter! You can also play multiplayer with I believe up to 8 people? They have their own servers and the servers are well maintained!
The devs also rebuilt the game literally from scratch since the game launched when I was a kid (I’m in my 20s for reference) and they’re building on this new game to eventually update it so your pups grow with you, and year after year, your pack updates! So you can raise the next litter, some wolves will stay, some will go off to make families of their own, etc. in its current state, you can raise a litter and then skip a year and raise another, and it’s still super fun!
It’s one of those games I buy for people and buy DLC for solely to support the devs. The DLC isn’t necessary either, it’s a couple optional maps and a few more wolf customization options. I’ve literally said even if X new map sucks I’ll still buy it LOL. (It never sucks though!!)
But the main guy seems really genuine. He visits yellowstone with his family frequently, and really tries to keep it as accurate as he can without straying too far, but still making it a fun game. And, honestly, I think it is!
Anniversary addition is the new version, and whatever classic version they have is the one I played as a kid. New one rules. Old one is still great though :]
Here’s a vid of one of their recent devlogs showing puppies learning to hunt!
youtube
So I really care about this game! All the purchases basically go back into making the game, and I’m happy to support it!
Here’s the steam page if you wanna check it out :] I’ve been playing it again recently and I’m having fun! Also if u wanna play w me… hmu \o/

ThisVid News
Hello everyone,
The initial of this blog is to act as a “library” of videos for muscular guys who overeat either for a cheat day or as part of bulking. Since setting that goal the blog has expanded into new territories like a gainer breaking the waistband of their favorite pair of pants. But for now I am endeavoring to return to that original goal.
If anyone has been paying attention to the Youtube Channel my bulkseason video playlist is hosted on, they may have seen a new playlist called Bulkseason (ThisVid). This playlist is for videos I’ve made clips/montages for on ThisVid. Usually, I post the clips here and on ThisVid to get the most exposure. However, I am changing that structure moving forward.
The News
I will be trying to make video clips for videos I’ve already added to my bulkseason playlist. These video clips (Which I’ll call legacy clips) will be posted exclusively on ThisVid. The reason for this is I don’t want to be double posting here on the blog. It frankly takes a stupid amount of time to upload video clips here so if I already made a post about a video, you should be able to find it in my archives. There are some videos that have already been taken down by their creators which is why I want to build up my collection of legacy clips.
This doesn’t mean I’ll stop posting videos here. Since it seems like people prefer clips, I will make clips for all future videos I add to my playlist and upload them here and on ThisVid. The exception is if in the video the person is only shirtless for a very brief moment; those will remain as picture only (the classic “belly shots”)
If anyone has a good eye for bellies and have access to video downloading/editing software, hit me up! My legacy clips project will be is a big job and I am willing to pay for your services.
The Future
I wanted to wait till we hit 9000 followers to make announcements about the future but I’ve been busy managing my other platforms and want to give a glimpse of my plans for this blog now.
First, I want to thank everyone who moved to my Instagram to see my personal belly pics! I didn’t expect the following that I’ve gotten since I don’t look anything like the guys that I post about so I’m very flattered by all your kindness. I’ve spent a lot of time managing my “personal belly pic platforms” that I’ve let this blog fall into neglect a bit. I’m grateful that Tumblr has an autopost feature.
I do not plan on abandoning this blog though. Its the capital of my little online kingdom. I do wonder though if there is a way to transfer ownership to someone who can better manage it. Like a housekeeper for Tumblr blogs. I never implemented a tag system like @just-gorge-ous or @hunky-to-chunky which I sort of regret. They post a lot of great content too and their tags make it easy to sort through it all. If anyone would like to help clean up the blog a bit, I am looking for your services as well.
To whoever read through this long ass post, thank you for following the gains here and remember its always bulkseason! 💪

Plans for AUSPICIOUS VOICE Going Forward
EDIT @ 07/10/2023: More explanation on what I will do with my social media accounts at the end of this post
Hey guys!
I'm writing this post to highlight some key changes for this project and its future, especially when I want to move on to other bigger things I'd like to focus on. Of course that doesn't mean I'm abandoning this project, but I just want to scale down on the social aspects of the UTAU hobby significantly for the most part.
If you're interested on what this means for the project, then feel free to read on.
Cover Uploads
Since January 2023, I have been uploading new cover to my YouTube and BiliBili channels on a weekly basis. This was mostly because I had a huge backlog of finished covers I've kept in my hard drive for a long time. But since I've cleared my cover backlog and that I've run into a bit of a burnout AND cover block, I figured that doing weekly uploads isn't really a fun thing to do anymore.
It's hard to find inspiration for songs I want to cover nowadays since I'm all burnt out right now, and I want to upload covers whenever I want to. I won't stop uploading covers but the amount of covers I will upload will decrease over time. I also want to make more time and space for other things I am working on instead of constantly working on covers every week.
Maybe I should build a playlist of songs I want to cover in the future, and when the inspiration really hits, I could revisit the playlist and select the one I like the most...
Voicebank Development and Releases
It never really occured to me that I wanted to stop developing voicebanks up until recently. I will say that I will be stopping voicebank development for Fuwa Maria and Fuwa Mario indefinitely.
Now the reason why I am saying this is because of multiple factors. One is that I don't have the time and energy to devote to developing new voicebanks for my UTAUs these days, and I'm at that point where I look at my current voicebanks and I'm like, "Yeah I don't think I'll record a voicebank as good as that." I'm perfectly fine with the quality of my current voicebanks, and I don't intend to record new versions of them anytime soon. That doesn't mean that I'll stop giving them miniscule QoL updates though.
Producing voicebanks takes a long time, from months to even a year, and it really exhausts me every time I do a voicebank release. So that being said, don't expect new voicebanks to be released anytime soon. This decision isn't permanent, but it will probably remain that way for a long time from now.
Anything else?
For the sake of my social battery and mental health, I won't be directly interacting with the UTAU community (and the greater vocal synth community) from now on. Too much happens on those online spaces to the point where it stresses me out by a ton, and I'm glad that there are people leaving the community to do better things or to improve themselves for the reasons mentioned above. I won't lie that without the UTAU community, I wouldn't have gotten to where I am today, but I think it's time to move on, like a graduation of sorts or something.
That doesn't mean that I won't stop all communications with the UTAU community, but I will be around to check if anything new has been made with Maria and Mario through tags and search results occasionally. I may leave a comment or two at that! I also opened up a new e-mail for inquiries about the voicebanks and characters, so that's my primary form of contact now.
As for the program itself, I have always treated UTAU as a hobby, and I will continue to do so - as something that I like to do for myself in my free time. I will cover the songs I like with my UTAUs (and other voicebanks if I feel like it), and upload them for myself and others to see if they like. And if someone else enjoys it, then that's great! I just love sharing the things I enjoy doing.
Moving forward, this is my way of saying that I will be dialling down on UTAU-related activities significantly in terms of the program itself (maybe a little bit) and the community related to it. I have been valuing my own health recently, which has been bogged down for way too long. And I will be uploading covers sporadically, and I just want to focus on using the new voicebanks I released for years to come. Quite frankly, hobbies and interests are best enjoyed with close friends and probably not with bigger circles, and that alone has done wonders to me.
I will say that if I were to post covers, they might be posted back-to-back on some days. I will post my UTAU work through this site and my YouTube and BiliBili channels from now on, and I have an RSS feed set up in case you guys use them!
See you, HIRA

Note
(the asker from before) Thank you for the notes. that is really weird though, what is so wrong with "wakarazuya", unless its a bad word there shouldnt be any reason it can't be translated close enough in ENG? yeah, before too i meant, there are fan commentaries with small translations and people post them to different groups (+Facebook?). i can't translate good but i've never heard of something like this happening before with CLAMP? I dont agree on every view on Kaito too but, yeah it's weird...
"there are fan commentaries with small translations"
Can you make a clear example of that? Like, what exactly they translate?
Are they in English or other languages?
I avoid by now all fandom spaces, so I've never seen these kind of posts, but I remember that (when I used to stroll around more) I had seen an FB group making their own scanlations in Latin American Spanish (not Spanish from Spain, basically, which is the official translation CLAMP is uploading on their Youtube channel).
It wasn't exactly great, that's not legal and all, but someone explained to me that the two Spanish languages are different, so....I guess it made sense that the group was doing that.
There was just a tiny problem...that group used the English translation as a base, therefore passing all the mistakes into their own scanlation 🙈That was...so frustrating to see. Because fans were doing this to feel more comfortable reading the chapters in their own language, but inherited all the translation mistakes from a version they thought was legit and official, but actually was very flawed. I remember I was so frustrated to see that happening.
Anyway, back to us.
what is so wrong with "wakarazuya", unless its a bad word there shouldnt be any reason it can't be translated close enough in ENG?
Hmmm, "wakarazuya" isn't a bad word, indeed.
If your question is "why did the ENG translation mess that up?", unfortunately I cannot give a definite answer, but I can try to infer it from what I've seen in the past....3 years? Yeah, ever since I started paying attention to the English translation.
First of all, some mistakes are purely for carelessness.
Some of the mistakes they make are so basic level (they misunderstand one word for another, or make typos, etc) that I really believe a simple check would already fix many of those.
Then, this translation seems to have a bias against the new characters.
I don't know why, but they seem to believe that if they make these new characters sound more arrogant (or bearing more negative feelings than necessary), they'll be more interesting.
Kaito in particular, as you well know, is quite an arrogant character in the ENG translation (all that unnecessary use of "kid", "child" in a dismissive tone when he's talking with Syaoran is really unsufferable to see...none of that is present in the JP version and he actually seems to hold lots of respect for Syaoran from the way he talks about him). I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that this biased translation might have contributed to make him be hated more than necessary by the international fandom. I don't mean that he's an angel in the original JP, japanese fans are quite irritated with him as well, but there's also a component of benevolence in that irritation, it's more like "why are you acting this way? Instead of trying to reach happiness for yourself too?". It's like they're scolding a mischievous child, literally. Lately they have started to call him 赤ちゃん, "baby", because he's totally immature.
I can't count how many JP fans I've seen along the years getting angry at Kaito, but also wishing him to be happy.
This, instead, very rarely happened with international fans. I see more pure, genuine hate towards him.
But I digress.
Momo, in some scenes, suffers from the same bias too.
She sounds more nasty towards Kaito than necessary. Once (chapter 43) they've put a "You fool!" in her mouth, while she was talking to Kaito, that she absolutely didn't say in the original. It might be a small irrelevant thing, but added to all the rest, it contributed to paint a picture that simply isn't corresponding to the truth. That's why for long, long time, many fans abroad didn't even realize that Momo truly cared about Kaito in her own way.
Now, onto our wakarazuya, this is a word that indicates someone who, no matter how much you try to convince them, won't listen to reason. They're impossibly fixated over their views. Not because of ignorance, but because of stubborness.
Those words they used to translate that term ("blockhead", and even more "dolt" from Lilie) have a connotation of telling someone they're stupid, along with "stubborn", and CLAMP didn't like that. Momo knows Kaito is not stupid and he isn't acting like he's acting because of stupidity.
I admit I didn't even think much of this particular translation when chapter 70 came out (my tears were busy somewhere else...) but apparently CLAMP didn't miss the subtlety and had a bad feeling about it, so they pointed it out. Though they seem to be aware that it's apparently very difficult to translate this word in an exact way in English.

[001] Fujii, K. (through the eyes of his manager, Zuzzu)
Sooo...this is from the staff journal on Kaze's app mostly updated by his main manager, Tomonori Kawazu, or more affectionately known as Zuzzu. I've been catching up on it slowly (there's 2+ years worth of entries). I'm reading it in its original language because even though the app seems to be available in multiple countries, I haven't seen any mention of English entries or the content of the diary among Kaze's international fanbase.  So I figured I'll share some of the more interesting entries I find here.
Do lemme know if there are already official translations available and it's just me who doesn't know about them so I don't keep doing all this work for nothing, yeah?
Oh I checked and found that Kaze's team has given blanket permission for stuff on the Kaze app to be reproduced. It's only when people rip the stuff in there for unauthorized reuse (like pictures to be printed on t-shirts, etc to be sold as unofficial merch and what-not) that they put their foot down. So in case you're wondering, this thingy that I'm doing here is a-ok in their books, since it's basically content reproduction, which they do not seem to consider as rights infringement. As far as Kaze goes, anyway.
Note that this is based on whenever I get to making more headway into the journal itself and only on whatever entry I come across that I find interesting enough to want to share so it's not going to be everything and it ain't going to be regular. Far from it. Hope y'all understand.
Also, this probably isn't necessary given where this is and there's only like 5.5 of us Kaze fans in here but if anyone wants to share this outside of Tumblr, I'd appreciate it if I'm asked about it first. Thank you!
This particular entry was posted 31 Dec 2020.
Good evening, one and all!
The other day, I talked about working on two music videos in a single week in this Staff Journal. As today is the last day of 2020, looking back on what the year was like, it dawned on me that it was a year where our concerted efforts lie mostly with shooting these videos. We've released seven of them so far so I thought we could take a short trip down memory lane and recount what crazy 2020 was like for us.
It's been just about a year.
Since Kaze's first individual concert that was held at LINE CUBE in Shibuya, that is. This was the show Kaze decided to first announce to the world his original song, NaN-NaNw. It goes without saying that the first music vid that's going to be released would also be that of NaN-NaNw. As someone whos's been making and uploading videos on YouTube all by himself all this time, it's a matter of course that he has very clear ideas on what he wants in this first music video.
Calling ourselves Team Kaze, a small team of staff all came together and brainstormed on everything right from the concept, to the director, to the location.
Call it great timing, but we were able to find ourselves a director willing to take on the job and we were able to have a series of in-depth discussions with them.
See, not only is the entire song in Japanese, it's also sung in a rural dialect. But. The location is NYC. (Kaze himself wasn't too particular on the location though.)
The final story concept was something that came about after many in-depth back-and-forths between Kaze and the director to brush it up. Casting auditions including for the role of the angel were held at the location city right up to the last minute when, three days before we were due to travel to the shooting location, the original director had to bail on us for reasons I'm not able to disclose.
※Please refer to the vlog on YouTube to find out a bit about the progress we were able to make with said director and the concept of the song itself.
Remember, this was Kaze's very first music video. And it's slated to be shot at an overseas location, no less. But here we are, served with this shocking news, three days before we had to show up on set.
"Let's just give up on NYC and rethink the concept from scratch while we search for a new director. I mean, we could just delay this whole thing, couldn't we?"
Were some of the suggestions brought up within the team at the late night discussion table. But Kaze wiped everything clean off it when he said:
"Ah can't think o' another concept that'd work wit' this song."
By the way, just so you know, I actually tabled a suggestion where we go to India with a skeleton crew and shoot with just a single camera instead. But it got voted down pretty quickly which was just as well. Lol.
SEP Nakagawadani-san, Itabashi, the cameraman Kamiike-san, the lighting engineer Takahashi-san and Chris, who took over directorial duties, accompanied us on this journey with its beginnings full of ups and downs, starts and stops. The location coordinator Chika-san and Michael were also a huge help.

Here's a little anecdote from the shoot I thought I'd share:
You know the emotion-sharing scene where Kaze was in this room surrounded by a whole bunch of the cast who were all dressed in white? That was actually the very first scene shot which Kaze was initially none too happy about. He complained to me, "Ah never once imagined that the very firs' scene o'mah very firs' music vid wud see me lip-syncing in fronna whole buncha foreign peeps ah've ne'er met X(." He sounded nervous and I probably didn't imagine that hint of agitation I detected in his tone, either.
Also, because shooting was around Christmas season, NYC was alight with decorations. Which complicated things for us as the music vid had absolutely nothing to do with the holiday and we now had to be extremely careful to avoid anything to do with it getting into any of the shots.
When shooting the opening scene of the music vid, the image Kaze, the director and the cameraman each had for it in their respective minds were all different so tensions were slightly strained until everyone eventually came to an agreement.
Reckon it can't be helped, since the original director is no longer on board.
The last scene shot was at the subway. After wrapping up, everyone in Team Kaze and the film crew all felt as though we've created something pretty dang awesome.
And we weren't imagining it either because as a result, NaN-NaNw  won this year's MTV Video Music Award Japan for the R&B category. I can't even begin to describe how happy this made us all.
Tumblr media
(Img taken from Kaze's app)
This song and its MV turned out to mark a good start for us all so it felt like all the things we went through for it paid off.
After we've returned to Japan, without waiting for the music vid's release on 24 Jan, we went on ahead and dove headlong into pre-pro for MOH-EE-WA.
Since MOH-EE-WA is a song with hip-hop vibes to it, we figured we could engage a director who's at home with the genre, preferably someone young? Were some of the things Kaze and I talked about and it just so happen we were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with one Spikey John earlier, who not only hail from Okayama just like Kaze, they're pretty much the same age, with Spikey having been just one school year above.  We met him some time in early Jan.
But, whether it was the folly of being about the same age, or both being extremely dedicated to their craft, as things turned out, they were pretty far from smooth-sailing. Having been able to meet the man was a highly fortunate thing in itself still, though. Lol.
Basically it's like this:
The ideas Spikey thought were great, Kaze didn't see eye-to-eye with.
The things Kaze wanted in, Spikey didn't think much of.
For someone who's usually pretty chill, Kaze got uncharacteristically worked up by the communication issues he seemed to be having, at one point going, "There's no way ah can work wit' someone ah can't co'municate on equal terms wit'. Wha he expect me ta do? Git down on mah knees an' beg?"
And from Spikey's end, it was, "Yanno, maybe I'm not the right guy for this."
So while trying to placate Kaze on one hand, on the other I spoke with Spikey to help him gain a better understanding of Kaze. It took several meetings but the two were gradually able to close the gap between themselves and understand where the other was coming from.  Once they've gotten to the point where they've gained respect for one another, well, I'm sure you were all able to see the work that resulted for yourselves.
After the video's official release, Kaze well and truly considers Spikey as one of his bros and Spikey proclaimed himself a Kaze fanboy.

Goes to show how important it is to trade ideas, even if they clash.
Whoa, seems like I've been going on forever about this and I'm not even near the end yet. Mind if I took a break? I'll continue in the next entry, promise!
Oh right, since we're looking back on the past, I figure I should let you all in a bit on how Kaze and I met.
"Oh hey, so I've been pretty into this young dude on YouTube lately," Asako Miyazaki, the guitarist-cum-vocalist of SHISHAMO, the band I was managing back then, told me one day. That was how I first learned about the existence of one Fujii Kaze. If memory serves, that was probably around the end of 2017.
Back then, I was just like, "Oh, is that so?" But half a year later, in the summer of 2018, I found myself reaching out to him, and was promptly rejected as he told me, "A bunch of people who claimed to be from the industry have already gotten in touch, so I think I'm good, thanks."
Me, dejected: D8 T___T
So I placated myself by thinking that it didn't have to be me, that he'd for sure be able to meet someone worthy, who could do proper justice to his talent.
But Asako, bless her generous soul, wouldn't hear of it and urged me to not give up, telling me , "Dude. Don't just throw in the towel. Keep trying."
"Wow. That's really big o' her. Me, ah wouldn't be able to find it in meself to jus' han' mah own man'ger over ta someone else," was what Kaze said when I told him about it later. But really, this is just one of the countless things that make Asako an extremely cool person.
After that little push from behind, I gathered up my will to try again and eventually managed to get to a point where he was willing to meet with me at Okayama Station to hear me out.
There, we settled into a cafe and spoke at length and, on that very same day, he brought me home to meet his folks.  In the days after, I made a few more visits to Satosho to explain to Kaze and his folks my ideas and hear what they have to say as well. We communicated a lot and, well, here we are.
They say that fate or destiny is what brings people together and I can't stress enough the truth and importance of that. Thinking back on what led us here this New Years Eve has just renewed my conviction of it.
Lastly,  I'd like for you all to know that the warmth you have so generously shown us was what kept us going throughout this whole year. Trust me when I say we can't begin to thank all of you enough. Really, thank you all so very, very much! I hope you'll continue being generous in your support through 2021, as well.
Looking forward to seeing you all in tomorrow's piano livestream!

Hey! I followed you because I think your art is super funky and awesome and cool and I've been mildly interested in Sonic for awhile now. Most of my content is very secondhand, like commentary videos and the Snapcube dubs.
To make a long story short, I want to get into Sonic. Like for realsies. There's so much content out there and I don't know anyone personally who enjoys it, so how do you suggest I approach this?
Aw thank you so much I'm glad you like my art!!
It really depends on what you're most interested in! Sonic is a franchise that spans different mediums and has been on-going for a long time, so there's a lot of content with very different vibes and varying levels of quality (though that's subjective of course).
I'd say that probably the best way overall to get familiar with the characters and world as a newcomer is to read the IDW comics! They're very well-written, have gorgeous art, and are easily accessible to new fans while still having lots of references to previous installments. They take place directly after Sonic Forces, but they summarize the events of that game so don't worry about needing that context. There's also a couple of mini-series to check out!
There's the games of course, which are the main canon that the IDW comics build off of/are technically a part of. I would personally recommend Sonic Adventure 2, it's my favorite game and though basically everyone calls it their favorite, like, it's for a reason. SA2 for me is the best game overall, as its story is great, the gameplay is fun and works perfectly alongside the story, and it's just full of charm. It's the most cohesive Sonic game imo, everything feels so interconnected and masterfully woven together, I love playing it. Don't be scared off by the "2" in the title btw, though there are some elements from Sonic Adventure that are referenced, you can still totally enjoy it without knowing anything about the first game as it's mainly standalone.
^ (also sidenote but sa2's story got a littleee muddled by the english localization, its not the worst but i'd recommend this video that goes over the story in detail with an emphasis on the original japanese script. there used to be an upload of the jp cutscenes with faithful eng subtitles but unfortunately last year the channel got nuked and there weren't any backups T_T im still not over it)
When it comes to recommending games it sort of depends on whether you plan on actually playing them yourself or just watching someone else play them, because there's a lot of Sonic games that have really good stories but subpar gameplay, or games that don't really have a story but good gameplay. Also everyone has their own preferences when it comes to types of games so there's that too.
Sonic is a franchise that both sort of has an overarching story (or at least they did back in the early 2000s when the games had a story that was built upon with each game, something that we might be finally returning to with Sonic Frontiers!) and also has many games and cartoons where they're kind of separate from all of that and function as standalone stories or just take place in their own universes entirely. There's many different canons across the different mediums, but the main one is the mainline games + IDW + now Sonic Prime on Netflix, which is apparently also canon to the main game canon!
Sorry if this is overwhelming >< it's a big franchise with a lot of different stuff and different canons and a wonky timeline so it's sort of hard to pinpoint the exact things a new fan """"should"""" check out. I'd say check out the IDW comics and then see if any of the games (or just their cutscenes in a compilation on YouTube lol) spark your interest!
And I say this every time I get these kinds of asks about a fandom I'm in, but PLEASE feel free to send me another ask or even shoot me a dm if you're comfortable if you want more specific advice or are confused about something, I literally love nothing more than talking about sonic the hedgehog at length. (Although I'd prefer if you sent them to my main @infizero as I use this account mainly just for art ^_^)
Anyways I hope this helped in some way ToT

Hi, if you don’t mind, could you give your opinion on whether Tokyo Debunker is currently worth playing? I’ve been sitting around and watching, and so far I’m not sure a good story is worth putting up with the horrendous gacha and currency systems I’m hearing about. Thank you!
When it comes to the pros and cons of the game, this post explains it better than i could.
As of now, the gameplay isn't that great so i wouldn't recommend playing tokyo debunker if that's something that would bother you. If you really want to get into the story but don't want to deal with the whole gacha and currency nonsense, you could watch it on youtube. (i think someone already uploaded the prologue there)
Personally it wasn't a huge issue for me since the story and the characters were interesting enough to keep me playing. I definitely don't recommend spending any money on this game though (apparently the cards dont even have stories on them so theres that)
If you're still unsure on whether its worth it you can still give the game a try. you can always delete it if it's not for you

Today’s compilation:
Tantrum Compilation 1990 Punk Rock / Alternative Rock / Pop-Punk / Hardcore Punk
Got another one of these punky early 90s LPs that manages to totally rip shit up 🤘😤. Presenting Tantrum Compilation, a 1990 release from a small L.A. label called Cocktail Records, who put out this album, and then a split 7-inch the following year, and then completely bounced out of existence. Ephemeral as hell, this thing presents a bunch of exclusives—though not entirely—from mostly Cali bands, including ones you may have heard of, like L7 and White Flag, and ones you definitely haven't heard of, like The Rails, whose only song they've ever released—a lightly punkish bit of alternarock called "Miss Rome Stays Home"—solely appears on this comp.
So, let's get into some of these raucous wig-flippers, starting with L.A.'s very own aforementioned White Flag. If you're a fan of this band, then chances are that you're familiar with their album, Zero Hour, and its title track. But guess what? There's a White Flag song on this album called "Zero Hour" too, but it's a completely different track than the one that appears on their Zero Hour album. And I thought that, maybe, this was a misprint on the part of Cocktail Records, but it appears that in a 2008 expanded edition of another White Flag album, Wild Kingdom, this song appears as "Zero Hour." Really weird and confusing, but I think I got to the bottom of it. And the guitar solo on it is incredible too, by the way. Blisteringly speedy 🤯.
Next, an exclusive from female-fronted San Franciscan punk band Frightwig, called "38 Special." This thing's such an electrifying anthem, man. They date back to the early 80s and they manage to bring those timelessly irresistible melodic power chords with them into the new decade. Just phenomenal stuff from them here.
And an unorthodox punk duo called The Death Folk are on here as well. They feature Pat Smear, of mythical Germs fame, and their song "Jack" loads up on layers of ever-changing and scratchy punk riffs, without any of the other instruments that you'd typically expect to hear accompanying them, such as a bass or drums. Instead, the band's other member, Gary Jacoby, is credited on tuba, but uhh, I don't think I hear any on this song 😅.
And then we've got another Cali group, Sacramento's Groovie Ghoulies, who supply a raw and super catchy power poppy pop-punk cover of Men Without Hats' 1987 hit, "Pop Goes the World." Something of a successful precursor to that whole Punk Goes... covers series that would come about in 2000 from Fearless Records. Had that whole enterprise existed a decade or so prior, you could expect to hear this song on one of their releases; I mean, it sounds damn near perfect for it.
Truth be told, though, this album felt pretty listless throughout the first half of its a-side, but then it managed to pick up a full head of punk steam and never looked back. Some really terrific tunes on this. Another one to throw on my slowly growing pile of great and obscure late 80s-early 90s punk comps that I've come across in the past year or so. Others include Dionysus Records' Sounds of Now! and Trigon's Gimme the Keys !!, two excellent late 80s punk comps from Cali labels that run a bit more garage-y.
And you definitely can't find direct YouTube links to every song that's on this album, but luckily, someone uploaded the whole thing to YouTube just two months ago(!), so you can hear them all in there.
Listen to the full album here.
Highlights:
White Flag - "Zero Hour" Instigators - "The Blood Is On Your Hands" Frightwig - "38 Special" The Death Folk - "Jack" Groovie Ghoulies - "Pop Goes the World" Spiderbaby - "Wake Up" The Rails - "Miss Rome Stays Home"

caffeine-versations #1:
this is very accurate and applicable for someone like me. reason is, I have few people in my life that has the same music taste like mine. I love being with them but when it comes to music, I am more interested on meeting new people with exquisite or much better music taste than I do + you can never really be alone at gigs!
I remember the first time I attended a gig alone was my 2nd month being an employee, just months after graduating from college and scared of being alone in a crowded room. still a baby from the reality and how this life works. it was a Franco gig at 19 East circa 2019, I worked as a Bank Teller so I went wearing my uniform, was a bit shy cause its skirt day and I stood there as they begin to perform. a guy approached me and hand me a bottle of smirnoff and guess what.. he’s alone, too! I enjoyed listening to his stories and never felt awkward the whole time. I was actually hesitant if I should get along with him because he’s a dude and I’m an overthinker but somehow, he’s the first human being who made me feel that going alone isn’t really that scary, that its not really bad stepping out on your comfort zone. wherever he is, I hope he’s doing well and I’m hoping I could see him again. I owe him a two bottles of smirnoff, though! he was a good friend to me at the moment. it was also the first time I saw Victor (Franco’s drummer) upfront, he was like 5 steps away from me. I wanted to approach him just like everyone does and take a photo with him but then I froze and I just watched him walk and leave the place. I think I died for a sec haha he’s a happy crush of mine since highschool lolol of course Islaw, Dave and Tyopolds are such a fine men with great talent, thankful for Franco’s music. jah love ❤️ (I wanna gatekeep them before and never told anyone of my classmates what’s their band name but yep, they deserve to be recognize by everyone)
I also went to a free concert of UDD at Starmall SJDM. I really wanted to go because I love them so much that I’m thinking if I should ink one of Tadhana’s lyrics on my back: “Nakayapak at nahihiwagaan.” I nearly cried when I heard Indak and Unti-unti live. Armi sounded so good and I got a very good spot that I could see each of them while performing. I feel like I’m the only one watching who knows the lyrics each of their songs while being dramatic af. the whole band was rushing to get off the stage after their performance, didn’t get to see Armi closely but even though my eyes aren’t 20/20 I know she’s pretty! I hope she knows I always get a 100 score on videoke whenever I sing “Oo.” yes, Ms. Armi should be proud! chariz. kidding aside, that was the first and last gig I saw them performing live. if you would ask me what’s my all-time favorite UDD song, it would always be “Anino,” the one that is not released on Spotify and uploaded by a fellow fan on YouTube (hope she wont delete it or else.. 🔪) and I believe that UDD released a studio version of Anino way back 2019 but I like the other one more. raw, and would cut your heart into pieces. I miss UDD, come back please? *sad twerking*
after that, it continued. sometimes I still go out with a friend, max of 3 + I don’t really like when someone would ask me to go to public toilet rooms with them while the band is performing, chz.
I hate missing out. going to gigs alone— one of the best thing I’ve done xx

I'm putting my reply under a cut, because I ended up rambling, oops
I have considered watching the j+h musical, but I've heard its quite thematically different from the novella, and the themes are one of the main reason I love it, so I don't know if I'd like it. I didn't know about the Frankenstein musical!! I'll definitely have a look for a bootleg.
Something Rotten sounds fun! I studied elizabethan england for gcse history, and some of shakey's life in english, so it's always somewhere at the back of my mind.
I've wanted to watch Newsies for so long, ever since my dance teacher said the version she went to had a guy doing 12 pirouettes on a table. I can only ever dream of being that good a dancer (partly because I don't want to dance en pointe lol) and it probably is on disney+ in the uk, so maybe I'll watch that during this holiday!
I have watched Heathers, and it's one of my favourites, haven't seen Dear Evan Hansen- and I didn't know it was a classic musical! Les Mis I think I want to read the novel first (probably a mistake because I'm pretty bad at reading classic lit if it's longer than 500 pages, but I'm stubborn).
I watched RTC on a discord call with some beloved mutuals from the Malevolent fandom (although back then, I wasn't even mutuals with some of them- I had only just joined the server and didn't know anyone) and I really loved it!! Audio quality wasn't great though, on account of it being a discord call lol.
And now some musical recs in return:
- The hatchetfield trilogy, by Starkid! Which is all on YouTube. Kind of horror-comedy, but the second 2 are more horror while the first one is more comedy (start with The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals, then Black Friday, then Nerdy Prudes Must Die)
- Little Shop of Horrors!!! A classic! There's a bootleg of the musical on YouTube, but iirc, there's also someone who uploaded the film in clips and put them in a playlist
- A reccomendation very close to my heart- Billy Elliot- because it's about a boy growing up in the north east of England, during the miners strikes in the 80s (they are a massive deal for local history) who wants to become a ballet dancer, and there's lots of queer themes. So there's lots of things I can resonate with in that musical, as well as the dancing being amazing. Also I studied it for GCSE drama lol.
- Matilda. It's so good. It's just so good. Everything about it is amazing. Tim Minchin is a blessing. Again, not sure if there is a bootleg.
I feel like I've rambled too much lol.
Give me some musical reccomendations!! (There are so many I want to watch/slime tutorial but have not got around to doing :((()
OK! So, there is actually a musical for Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, but i haven't listened to it, and i've heard mixed reports, so idk, BUT the musical for Frankenstein is AMAZING (idk if there's a bootleg tho).
Something Rotten is set in Elizabethan times, where Shakespeare is the antagonist, and it's VERY funny, and the songs are quite good. I will, of course, always recommend Newsies! I would start with the proshot filmed in 2017 (i don't know if it's still on disney plus in the uk, but if any of these strike your fancy lmk and i'll dm you links to definitely legal versions) because while the 1992 movie is great, i find the music to be better in the stage play.
There are, of course, the classics: Heathers (which is pretty easy to find a slime of on youtube), Dear Evan Hansen (you have to have media literacy for this one, bc evan is not meant to be a good guy), and Les Mis. I personally wouldn't start with Les Mis, bc it's sung through, and LONG.
Ride the Cyclone has a really good boot circulating, and I've watched it like seven times, it's so good.

PURE [5] - Corpse Husband x Fem!Reader
A/N: It’s been a while.
part 1
part 2
part 3
part 4
PURE [5]
“Did you guys find anybody?” Felix’s voice sounded out when the man repeated the same question for what seemed like the third time since he joined the call. The number of players showed 7 of them, which meant that they were still missing three people. Sure, they could start the game now, but it would be way more enjoyable and funny with a full lobby.
“Yeah, Toast will be here any moment. “Sykkuno replied right away. “He just texted me; he should join us in a few.”
“Cool. Anyone else?”
“I think Corpse was also supposed to join us, right? Not sure though why he isn’t here yet.”
“Oh, yeah, Corpse will be here soon too!” Jack suddenly chimed in with an explanation. “He said he needed to take care of something first, but he’ll be here before we start.”
“Great. But that means we’re still one person short.” Felix hummed when Toast’s little astronaut appeared in the lobby “Hey Toast."
“Hey man.”
“Do you have anyone coming?”
“I’m afraid not. I asked MrBeast, but he’s busy, so...”
“Well then, we can just start when Corpse is here, and maybe we’ll find someone in the meantime?” Dave suggested, earning a few hums of approval from the other players.
“Yeah, I think that’s the best option...” Jack agreed. But then his voice blared out in everyone’s headphones with excitement. “Ha! Corpse is bringing someone!”
“Who?”
“I dunno, he just texted me he has one coming and that’s all.”
“Hm, all right. Let’s wait then.”
***
Corpse fidgeted with his phone, glancing between its screen and the chat in his stream. People were already asking countless questions, but rather than answering them, he was waiting for Y/N to call him. He was nervous - the girl still hadn’t commented on his request.
The idea to invite her to the lobby wasn’t spontaneous. In fact, he’d been thinking about it for quite some time now, but never found the courage to actually ask if she would like to join them for the game.
It’s been almost a month now since that memorable phone call. A month since Y/N last played with her friends; a month since she considerably reduced her social media usage.
Sure, she was still active on her youtube channel, but not as much as before the whole haters situation. No matter how hard she tried to just ignore them and simply continue her career, she just couldn’t. There were still these nagging thoughts at the back of her mind, reminding her of all those people and their comments, their messages. It seemed like a good idea to take a short break and sort everything out.
Her fans understood it. They were obviously sad that her videos weren’t as frequent as before, but everyone knew what the situation looked like and that Y/N needed some time for herself.
Her audience knew it, and so did her friends. Especially Corpse.
The man kept his word and talked to the girl whenever she wanted to. Which, in the end, was almost everyday. Although at the beginning their conversations mostly focused on her current problem and dealing with it, their topics broadened over the time.
At one point though, Y/N started worrying that maybe she’s annoying him with her so frequent calls. She thought that she shouldn’t bother him that much - even if talking to him was what really helped her cope with her problems. He already had enough on his plate, and sharing her own concerns with him suddenly seemed like a very selfish thing to do.
But she quickly realized how wrong she was for thinking like that. When one day she didn’t call, figuring out that she should stop troubling him with her own issues, she was very surprised when Corpse reached out to her himself. He expressed how worried he got when she didn’t call, and when she explained what was the reason, he spent the next fifteen minutes lecturing her that she should never think she’s bothering him.
From that day on, they talked every single day. And they talked about almost everything.
Corpse enjoyed their late night-talks more than anything. He liked to listen to Y/N talk about the things she finds exciting, her hobbies, and her dreams. Hell, she could talk about what she ate for breakfast, and he would still listen with interest.
And even though they haven’t seen each other in person, even though she still hasn’t seen his face, they managed to get really close during those past weeks. For an outside observer (who also didn’t have access to Twitter) they would seem like a couple of very good friends.
But not for Corpse.
He couldn’t pinpoint when exactly did it happen. They were talking one evening and Y/N was telling him about the TV series she had finished watching recently. He listened intently and watched as her facial expressions changed from excited to frustrated, as she was enumerating everything she liked and disliked about the series finale.
And then he suddenly got this weird feeling in the pit of his stomach, and simply couldn’t take his eyes off her.
He tried to play it off and act as if nothing changed, but he couldn’t stop his heart from doing backflips whenever she laughed at one of his dumb jokes or called him partner. It was still a running joke between them and among the group of their friends, but there was something in the way she said it that made him instantly smile like an idiot.
He also started paying more attention to the hashtags on Twitter and Instagram. #PartnersInCrime was still rather popular, even though it was a month since anyone last used this phrase on stream. Corpse also found out that #Y/Nforthebride was trending for some time; he even managed to stumble across a few fanarts.
There was this urge to send them to Y/N, but he was too nervous that it would make things awkward between them... After all, he didn’t know how she felt about that whole shipping thing.
That’s why he decided to just leave things between them as they are, and be happy that he’s at least her friend.
Corpse nearly jumped out of his skin, when he was brought back to reality by the sound of an upcoming FaceTime call. Y/N’s photo appeared on his screen, her smiley face which he had assigned as her contact photo. His lips corners curled up in a smile almost unwittingly.
“Hey Y/N/N” he said after answering the call.
“Hi Corpse” she smiled softly upon hearing his voice. Although the screen on her side was dark, she didn’t mind not seeing Corpse’s face. She respected his wish to remain faceless and enjoyed their conversations anyway.
“Whatcha doin’?”
“Just editing the new video. I guess I’ll upload it in the morning... but I’m not sure yet.”
“Well let me know then, I wanna be the first one to see it.”
“Sure thing, Corpse” she chuckled, lowering her gaze bashfully. Corpse just looked at her face for a moment, unable to stop smiling to himself. Then he remembered why they were talking in the first place.
“So... have you seen my text?” Y/N sighed at his question but nodded her head slowly. “And what do you think?”
“I don’t know, Corpse...” she ran a hand through her hair in a nervous gesture. “...if that’s a good idea, I mean.”
“Well, it’s been a while. No pressure though, if you don’t wanna play then it’s totally fine.” he quickly clarified. “I just thought it would be fun if you joined us, even if just for a moment. I’m sure everyone would go crazy.”
Her smile widened slightly at his words, but she still didn’t look convinced. Sure, it was tempting to join them. She wanted to do it each time Sean or Felix bombarded her with messages and codes to the lobby, both inviting her to join the group in the game. But then she remembered how people reacted to her appearance in their streams... and suddenly it didn’t seem like such a good idea anymore.
“We’re gonna play on Polus...” he added after a moment when she still didn’t say anything. “That one map with the planetary base... there’s a lava pit, y’know. Just saying...”
She laughed wholeheartedly at his words, remembering their last game when Corpse jumped into the lava for her.
“Sykkuno’s gonna be there as well” Corpse continued. “And I promise I won’t kill you this time.”
“Even if I’m the last player alive?” she joked.
“Even then, Y/N.”
Corpse stifled a laugh, as she cocked her head to the side and narrowed her eyes slightly as if trying to spot him in the darkness.
“Are you streaming, Corpse?” she then asked.
“Not yet. I’m gonna start the stream as soon as you say yes, though.”
“Oh c’mon” she laughed at his words “That’s emotional blackmail!”
“Maybe. Is it working?” he asked.
Y/N let out a heavy breath and ran a hand down her face. Corpse watched in anticipation as she seemed to have some internal battle with herself. He hoped that she’s gonna agree, he really missed playing with her.
“All right, then.” she suddenly said, and his breath hitched in his throat. “I’m gonna stay for a few rounds I guess...”
“Wait, really?” he asked, a smile on his face only widening.
“Well, yeah, partner.” she replied, which made his cheeks go warm “Your imposter techniques haven’t been very effective lately... Someone needs to help you out, or you’re gonna lose your title of the king of the Imposters.”
“Oh, is that’s how it is now?” he laughed in fake shock. “I wouldn’t have to worry about losing the title if my accomplice hadn’t left me all alone!”
“All right, all right.” she giggled at his accusations. “Your accomplice is on her way to support you.”
Corpse smiled even wider at the sound of her laughter. Her eyes shined with happiness when she was giggling, which only brought out their E/C color. The fact that his stupid babbling was the reason for her smile was making him feel extremely proud of himself.
“But just so you know... I still have no idea how this map works, so I’m afraid I’m gonna need you to guide me around it...”
“Y’know you could as well just say you want to hang out with me...”
“Corpse!” she laughed, her cheeks blushing in embarrassment.
“Just kidding Y/N” he chuckled at her reaction. “Of course I’m gonna guide you, don’t worry.”
“Okay then...” she said after a moment, looking at the screen again. “I’ll be there in a few minutes. Will you send me the code, please?”
“Sure I will, Y/N”
“Okay. See you later, partner” she smiled brightly.
“See you, partner.”
When Y/N ended the call, Corpse let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding. He sighed in relief and ran a hand through his hair, before moving to sit behind his desk.
It was only after he started the stream that he realized he was blushing. Not only because Y/N would join them, but because there was also another thing he wanted to ask her about, but didn’t find the courage to yet...
***
By the time Y/N turned on her computer and started the game, Corpse has already sent her the code, and there was a Discord invite waiting for her as well. She bit her lip nervously as her heartbeat quickened.
Was she nervous? As hell.
She did everything she could to avoid being in unnecessary spotlight since she started receiving those hate messages. Perhaps escaping the problem wasn’t the best solution, but it definitely was a comfortable one. People wouldn’t have a reason to hate on her if she disappeared.
But then she couldn’t say no to Corpse. And truth to be said - she really missed playing with her friends. From what she’d seen on Twitter, the lobby would be filled with those she’d already played with, so she wasn’t that nervous before the game. What she was nervous about though, was how people would react.
Accepting Corpse’s request was something she did due to the sudden rush of courage. And now there was no coming back.
She knew Corpse would understand if she changed her mind... but she heard how excited he was when she had agreed. She couldn’t do it to him.
So, once she’d taken a deep breath and put her headphones on, Y/N accepted the invite and braced herself for the inevitable chaos that was bound to take place in the call. She decided to wait with joining the lobby though - at least until they realize she’s with them.
“..the fuck you’re talking about?!” Felix’s voice was the first thing she heard, which made her roll her eyes with a smile. “It’s not my fault I sound like that! At least I don’t have a liar voice like Rae!”
“HEY!” the girl yelled “I don’t have a liar voice!”
“You do, you’re using it even now!” Jack argued, much to Rae’s dismay.
“What is going on here” Corpse’s deep voice sounded out suddenly.
“Oh, you’re here! Finally” Sykkuno immediately welcomed him with his always happy voice.
“Yeah, sorry that I’m late guys.”
“No worries, man” Pewdiepie spoke up again. “We were just talking about playing the voice card and that you’re basically the only one who can do it.”
“Not fair at all!” Rae chimed in, making Corpse chuckle.
“The voice card...” he hummed after a moment, before adding. “I wouldn’t really say I’m the only one though...”
“Well who else then? Everyone else either starts laughing or have a liar voice” Dave asked, and Rae scoffed at the last words.
“Well what about my guest?”
Y/N inhaled sharply, realizing that now she should probably reveal herself.
“Oh, right! Who you’re bringing man?” Sean asked with curiosity.
That’s when Y/N typed in the game code, and her white astronaut appeared in the lobby.
“Wait, who’s- HOLY SHIT” Sean all but yelled, when realization hit him. Y/N laughed loudly at his reaction, and her voice only seemed to prove to everyone that she really was there.
“KIDDO WHAT THE FUCK” Felix reflected Jack’s response, yelling over his friend.
“Oh my god, hi!”
“What a surprise!” Y/N managed to catch Sykkuno’s words. “It’s so amazing to have you here, Y/N/N!”
“As I live and breathe.” another voice spoke up, and Toast’s little astronaut came face to face with her white bean. “My lifelong nemesis. Back here snap my neck again, huh?”
“Yeah, happy to hear you too, Toast” Y/N giggled at his words, then she adressed the whole group. “Hi guys.”
“Okay I did not expect that in the slightest” Sean laughed happily “You’re here kiddo!”
“I am” she smiled from ear to ear, even though they couldn’t see her.
“Wait- Corpse, is that the thing you had to take care of?” her best friend asked Corpse with suspicious voice.
“Well...” he trailed off and cleared his throat, making everyone laugh.
“That’s so great Y/N! We missed you so much!” Rae thundered over the bickering of the boys. “The game hasn’t been the same without you...”
“Agreed. I suddenly stopped dying.” Toast commented, making her roll her eyes with a laugh.
“I don’t know if I should be happy or fucking scared right now.” Felix laughed nervously. “With Corpse and Y/N? We’re fucked now, guys.”
“I promise I’ll go easy on you, I haven’t played in so long I think I forgot all my strategies...”
“Yeah, sure.” Toast’s forever suspicious voice made her smile wider. “Just don’t kill me in the first roung, okay? I won’t vote you off just stay the fuck away from me you little murderer.”
“Okay, I promise I won’t kill you...”
She couldn’t stop herself from laughing, and the smile remained on her face even when they started the game. It only seemed to widen, when she saw the sign Imposter on her screen.
Only to giggle hysterically when she realized that Toast was the other imposter...
And so the game went on with Y/N and Toast cooperating like perfect serial killers. Corpse did as he promised and guided her through the map, both of them being closely followed by Sykkuno. Because of that she’d just sabotage the map most of the time to give Toast opportunities to kill their friends, but eventually managed to sneak out when her two fellow crewmates were doing their tasks. It just so happen that Pewds was walking past her, and she might’ve accidentally snapped his neck...
“Goddamnit! I knew it! I fucking knew it was you!” Sean yelled once the game was over and Y/N saw the sign VICTORY on her screen, her small character standing next to Toast’s one. He was ejected at some point because Poki managed to walk in on him killing Rae, but Y/N remained undetected until the very end. Perhaps the fact that Corpse was one of the two crewmates who were left alive had something to do wtih it...
“That was rude” Pewds said in a whiny voice, clearly referring to their encounter which led to his death. “I was just happily walking around, doing my tasks like a good crewmate, and then boom! Y/N happened”
“I would say I’m sorry... but I’m really not” she laughed, making Felix gasp in shock.
“That’s what happens when you work with Toast!”
“Good game, Y/N. That was amazing” the man in question said appreciatively.
“Will you finally forgive me for killing you that one time if I say that being imposters with you was cool?” she laughed nervously.
“Actually... Yeah, I guess we can bury the hatchet now. AND we should team up more in the future.”
“Great!”
“Excuse me, what?” Corpse’s voice made the whole lobby laugh. “I don’t remember us cancelling our partnership, Y/N.”
“Corpse...”
“Are you trying to steal my accomplice from me Toast?”
“Well she’s a great partner in crime after all...” Toast deliberately used the phrase, making Corpse gasp.
“Hey! She’s my partner! Find yourself your own, Toast” Corpse joked, making Y/N laugh bashfully, her cheeks warming up at his words.
“Yeah yeah, I remember, don’t worry man. No one’s gonna take your partner in crime away from you...” Toast’s teasing voice made them all laugh, Corpse and Y/N included.
For the next few rounds Y/N played as a crewmate, running around the map with either Corpse or Sykkuno and doing her tasks. During meetings they joked and laughed, and for a moment, she stopped thinking about what people watching her friend’s streams might think about her presence. After all, there was at least a small chance that they didn’t think about it at all, and simply enjoyed watching their favoirte youtubers. Just as she enjoyed playing with her friends.
Oh, and by the way, Corpse kept his promise and didn’t kill her even when she was the last player alive...
It was soon time when everyone started slowly leaving the lobby, having played for over three hours. Y/N also said her goodbyes to the others and promised that she’d join them to play a game called Raft next week.
When she turned her computer off and threw herself on her bed, Y/N immediately grabbed her phone to call Corpse. He answered right away.
“Well hello, partner...” she rolled her eyes with a smile when he accented the last word. “Or should I say, traitor, instead?”
“Corpse... you know I would never betray you...”
“Well how can I be so sure, now that I know how cool it is to be imposters with Toast?” she knew he was joking, she could almost hear the smile in his voice.
“Not nearly as cool as it is with you, Corpse” Y/N grinned from ear to ear when Corpse scoffed.
“I spare your life so many times and that’s what I get in return? You cheat on me with Toast?” he said in disbelief “I’m disappointed, Y/N, I really am.”
“I would never!” she laughed through her words, even though her cheeks were now red because of Corpse’s words. “You’re the best partner in crime, Corpse, I wouldn’t trade you for anyone else!”
Not only in the game, she thought.
“Hmm, alright. Let’s say I believe you.” he said after a moment of thinking.
“I mean it, Corpse...” Y/N said after calming down from her laughter. “I... I really wanted to thank you.”
“Thank me? For what?” he asked, genuinely surprised.
“Well, first of all for inviting me to today’s game... I really had lots of fun, it was great to play and talk with the others. And I wouldn’t be in the lobby if not for you...” Y/N mumbled, before verbalizing her previous thoughts. “And I also wanted to thank you for just... you know... being my friend. My real life partner in crime. I just wanted you to know I’m really glad I met you...”
Corpse was silent for a good few moments, and Y/N started panicking that maybe she said something wrong, or maybe he found her spontaneous confession funny, or worse, dumb. She was almost ready to somehow laugh it all off, when his voice cut her off.
“Thank you, Y/N. It really means a lot to me too.” he sounded like he had some troubles with speaking, which made Y/N furrow her brows in worry.
“Is everything okay, Corpse?”
“Yeah, I...” he stuttered, then laughed nervously. “I just didn’t expect that and... yeah. It’s not something I hear on a daily basis, especially from someone like you.”
Someone like me?
“But what you said... it’s mutual.” he said after a moment, and Y/N couldn’t stop herself from grinning like an idiot. “You’re the best partner in crime I could ask for. And not only in the game.”
She could as well just pass out there and there...
“So uhm... there was one thing I wanted to ask you...”
“Yeah?”
“I was wondering if maybe... you know, if you’d have some time... and if you’d want to of course... would you maybe like to visit me here in San Diego?”
Yeah, passing out seems like a good idea.

Caught my eye (Corpse Husband x reader)
Soulmate AU: In which everyone has one eye in their own eye colour and one in the colour of their soulmate. However, when you are close to meeting each other, your vision will change to the soulmate's one, letting you know you are close. When your eyes meet they will change their colour to their original eye colour.
Word count: 4189 words
Warnings: cursing because that is automatically given when writing about Corpse
Another Soulmate AU from my Wattpad account let's go!
Staring into the camera were a pair of, colourwise mismatched, eyes, one iris a deep brown and the other one a shimmering (e/c).
It was not unusual for someone to have two different eye colours in one set of eyes, it simply meant one had yet to find their significant other.
Pressing record on your camera you let your eyes stay right in front of the lens for a second before rolling backwards on your chair, your torso now in frame as well "Hello all of you beautiful individuals! I'm (y/yt/n) and as always I welcome you here!" You waved at your camera, a warm and welcoming smile gracing your lips. "In case this is your first time stumbling over this channel" you paused a second and giggled "Hi, welcome to this chaos!" Slowly you neared the camera again "Leave while you still can" you whisper shouted into your microphone.
"No hold on don't leave please! I was just kidding" You joked at your camera.
A happy sigh escaped your mouth as you leaned back in your chair "Today is q & a time isn't it?" You wiggled your eyebrows at the blinking light in front of you "Well let's get to it then...hmm...lemme see. Youtubetrash asks 'how old are you (Y/n)?' Do you always have to ask that question guys?" You scold playfully "I'm 19, but I really don't get why this is so important to you that I have to answer it in every video, like do you want to know the exact amount of days and minutes? Will you stop asking it every goddamn time then?" You chuckled as you ran a hand through your (h/l), (h/c) hair. "Right, next question! SusanIsAFish wants to know which eye colour my own is. I can easily answer that with either 'both are' or 'hell if I know' I've always had two eye colours like how am I supposed to know." A grin spread on your face as you continued to interact with your community's questions...
"Alright alright these are the last two questions guys. Nightmaresscareme...honestly same" you laughed as you read the users name out aloud. When you calmed down again you cleared your throat and continued "Ahem, anyways they wanna know if I found my soulmate already and who it is....Do I look like I found my soulmate?" You asked smiling as you approached the recording device once again and pointed a finger at each eye. "I have no Idea who it is but maybe you find whoever it is because all of you people are little Sherlock's I swear, you find out everything." Laughter erupted from your throat once again as you pointed at your camera.
"Last but not least, (y/n)stan asks 'when will you collab with Jack again? The two of you promised to make a video or something together?' Woah calm down, honestly I don't even think he remembers that, it was years ago. How do you even remember that (y/n)stan? I swear to god that's exactly what I meant with ya'll being Sherlock's." You wiggled your eyebrows again "But if you do remember, Seán and you magically happen to see this video. What happened to our collab plans dude?" You giggled "Alrighty guys that's it for today's video. Stay awesome my dudes, dudettes and in betweens and I'll see ya in the next one!" You winked and waved before stopping your recording and going straight to editing your video.
Just as you were about to upload your piece of work, your phone rang, scaring you in the process and causing you to delete your video. You groan in frustration holding your head in your palms.
"This better be important..." you mumbled to yourself as you went to check your phone. Seriously?! It was a Twitter notification. You sighed and ignored it for now, saving your video was a priority right now.
After hours of retrieving and re-editing your footage you finally uploaded the video to the worldwide known platform and picked up your phone to see what Twitter wanted from you.
As you opened the app you saw that it was a private message from none other than Jacksepticeye. What a freaking coincidence you thought, a smile now appearing on your face as you read the message. All your frustration was gone and instead replaced with confusion and laughter.  "What kind of message is that?" You muttered as you shook your head laughing.
Jacksepticeye:
Hey (Y/n) what colours are your eyes again?
(Y/T/N):
What kinda question is that? Lmao
Jacksepticeye:
Just answer my question dum dum :)
A raven haired male was on a discord call with his online friend that he had just revealed his face to. "Jack what are you doing now?" The young man laughed at his friend.
"Hold on, I'm texting someone."
The dark haired man sighed and waited "that's not very polite you know" he smiled.
"Pschh I'm finding your soulmate, what's impolite about that?" The Irish man looked up from his phone and back at his Computer screen. Only to start laughing at the other's reaction.
"Corpse? You good?" He kept on laughing at the dumbfounded expression on Corpse's face.
Who as a reaction turned off his camera, suddenly feeling very insecure towards his friend again.
"What do you mean?" His deep voice asked cautious.
"Don't worry man I'm not leaking your face or any info to anyone" he smiled reassuringly. "Your eyes just reminded me of someone else with the same or very similar ones. At least I hope I remember their eye colours correctly" He rambled on.
"Oh..." came from the other line, which was now more quiet than usual.
Seán noticed the change in his friend's behaviour and immediately stopped what he was doing. "I'm sorry Corpse..." the Irishman scratched bis neck awkwardly "I should've asked you first"
"I-it's fine. I just can't imagine anyone wanting to be my soulmate" the male sighed.
His friend flashed an encouraging smile at the screen "Dude! Anyone would be happy to be your soulmate. I know I would be! You are great, I know you probably don't believe me but I mean it bud. Besides, your soulmate is your other half, it's like they were made for you"
One could hear a sigh coming from the black screen as Corpse turned his camera back on, his pink tinted cheeks now showing up on screen as well. He had put his eye-patch on, leaving only his brown eye visible. "And you're really sure?" He asked quietly.
"100% sure! Anyone with half a brain would know how lovable you are" the blue eyed male grinned. "Besides, the person I'm thinking of also has a YouTube channel, I think I still owe them a collab, sooo I could maybe invite them to play some kind of-"
He cut himself off. "They answered!"
(Y/T/N):
Well they're like brown and (e/c), it's such a weird mix though.
Jacksepticeye:
Interesting.
Hey (Y/n), how about we do that collab? You could fly out and we meet up
(Y/T/N):
You still remember that? XD
Yeah sure I'd love that, I just had someone ask me about that collab today.
But seriously dude why are my eyes interesting to you all of a sudden? You found my soulmate or smth 🧐😂
Jacksepticeye:
😏😌🤭🤫
Right....
So when are you coming?
(Y/T/N):
Dude!
You literally just asked me if I even wanna come! Like come on, you think I've booked a flight already? Just like 10 minutes after you asked me to travel there?
Jacksepticeye:
As a matter of fact I don't just think so, I know it ;)
So when do I have the honors of picking your jet-lagged ass up at the airport?
(Y/T/N):
:(
...
This weekend
Time skip
A happy sigh escaped your lips as you felt the plane reaching the ground of its destination. You swiftly grabbed your bag and left the plane to get the rest of your luggage.
A yawn escaped your mouth as you grabbed your stuff, staying awake during the whole flight probably wasn't your best idea, but you couldn't help it. To you it was simply impossible to fall asleep on a journey by plane.
Your eyes skimmed the airport as you were searching for your friend.
After a few minutes of looking around you decided to sit down and wait, he was probably still on his way to the airport.
Just as you decided to open up your phone you got smacked in the face... With a balloon? "What the hell?" You whispered as you were pulled up from your seat and embraced. "(Y/N)! Hey! I haven't seen you in forever"
You looked up a little confused as you reciprocated the hug. "Well hello to you too Seán"
He chuckled and grabbed one of your bags before dragging you with him. "How can you be so motivated and energetic?" You giggled and tried to keep up with your Irish friend. "That (Y/n), is simply because I'm not sleep deprived like you"
Setting up his stream was a curly haired nervous mess. He was always nervous when he had to stream. But today was somehow worse.
The half Mexican ran his fingers through his hair. It was just a game with friends right? However, he had never played this game before.
His nerves getting to him caused Corpse to cancel the idea of a stream. "I'll just be there and play along, that's fine too. I don't need to stream every time I'm playing a game with my friends..." he muttered to himself.
With a bottle of water beside him he started the game and went through the tutorial. "Man this game is fucking cute" he laughed before joining the discord call, just to be engulfed in a complete chaos of voices.
"Hey Corpse is here! Hi hi!" A Swedish voice boomed through his headphones along with the rest of the group greeting him. "Hey guys" he replied as he joined their server in the game. "So what are we doing? Why is no one starti-" the deep voice started but was cut of by someone else.
"HOLY FUCKING- Who the hell was that?! Hello by the way" The whole call erupted in laughter at the reaction of the (h/c) haired individual.
"Uhh hi, that was me" Corpse answered laughing as he scratched his head nervously "and you also just answered my question for me thank you, whoever you are" Everyone laughed once again.
"Okay but seriously who are you?" Dave asked.
"Jack! You said you told em that I'd join" you huffed as you glanced At your friend next to you, you were sharing one discord account for this call as you sat right next to each other and didn't want the quality of the call to go down because of an echo. Both of you streamed online on twitch.
"Whoops! I thought I did" he chuckled once more as he introduced you to the party. "Well then..." he coughed in an attempt to clear his throat "Drum-roll please! this is (Y/n), they came to visit me this weekend. (Y/n), that's Dave, Felix, Joel, PJ and Corpse."
"Hi" you said suddenly a little nervous because you thought everyone knew you'd join.
Luckily no one seemed to mind that you were here as they greeted you. In fact, they seemed ecstatic to meet you.
"So have any of you not played this before?" Pewds asked the group. "Uh yeah, me" Yours and the deep voice said simultaneously. "But I did the tutorial" Corpse added. "Well I didn't" you laughed. "Great then we're all set, shame on you though (Y/n)!" Seán shouted.
"Jeez man, you told me to skip it and I can hear you! I'm right next to you and not deaf in case you didn't know" you sassed back, causing laughter to bounce through your headset once more.
"(Y/n) and Corpse you two haven't played before that means you count as one person for the group things cause both of you are noobs and if you count as one we have even team numbers" The swede joked.
"We're the Meowfia" Jack laughed, starting off with his puns for this game.
(Y/n) snorted at that as everyone chose the animals of their teams. Corpse chose the cat with an eye-patch along with his team. "Maan this is peer pressure!" Your voice called out "lucky for me I like cats"
"That is the truth" the Irish voice boomed through the call once again, "I mean you should see, even their headphones have cat ears"
"I wanna see that!" Dave shouted.
"Can we see them in your cam Jack?" PJ asked.
"Not completely, they're streaming on Twitch though, its at (Y/YT/N) on Twitch and YouTube" Seán smiled as he pat your back.
"You can't just expose me like that!" The cute voice answered panicking.
"I gotta see that, hold on!" Felix shouted as he opened up your stream smirking as he followed you. "Corpse, they'll ruin your life" he continued as your cheeks flushed a bright red, suddenly feeling so exposed and put on the spot "why...why am I ruining his life?" You asked, cocking an eyebrow.
Corpse had also opened up your account as he stared in awe at the enchanting individual now on his computer screen. Were you the one Jack had meant? No it couldn't be.
"Well you see, he wrote a song about cat girls ruining his life. Right Corpse?" This statement made him come back to reality and quite flustered at that "Huh? What-  ...ohhh uhm- uh- yeah" he responded in a stutter, the pale skin of his cheeks heating up and turning red.
"Corpse are you alright?" you asked, concern not only laced in your voice but also written all over your face, which he saw. This whole ordeal just made him blush more. There was a short pause "...Yeah.." the raven haired responded. But not even a second later a laugh erupted in the call "Did we just catch you right handed?" The voice belonged to Dave. "What do you mean?" Corpse asked confused. While he waited for a response from his friend, he started fiddling with his rings as he kept his eyes on (Y/N)'s stream which was still pulled up on his screen. "Well, did we catch you watching her stream?" Dave replied trying to hold in his laughter.
Your expression changed as your eyes went wide and you looked right at your camera "Is that true?" Your voice chimed in as a hint of pink spread across your cheeks, one of your eyebrows arched. "Well..." The man with the username 'CORPSE' cleared his throat "I had to see if Jack and Felix were speaking the truth..."
A smirk spread across your face "And? Were they honest?" you laughed as your Irish companion moved his face into the frame of your camera wiggling his eyebrows. The only answer you got to your question was silence before the deep voice continued "Alright let's start this game." Yet another laugh escaped your throat when you noticed the lack of a reply to your question. However, one could say that silence was an answer on its own.
The young guy sighed loudly after the game had ended, rolling back, away from his table, in his gaming chair he ran his hands through his curly hair. The game was fun, but it was exhausting for the man to concentrate on a game this long. Just as he was about to get up, turn all devices off and leave, he heard a familiar sound coming from his computer screen.
A discord call and video call at that was incoming from none other that Jacksepticeye. So, Corpse rolled forward in his chair again as he checked if his camera was turned off and covered. After reassuring himself that his face was hidden he accepted the call. "Hey whaddup?" He greeted his loud friend who immediately responded with a "Hey my man". His mismatched eyes widened as he looked at the screen, it was not only Jack on the call...they were there as well, a shy smile plastered on their face as they kept their eyes closed "Hey Corpse, tell me when your camera is off. Sean told me it might be on and I don't want you to accidentally expose yourself to me." "Oh yeah, it's off. You can open your eyes it's fine." Just as he finished his sentence their eyelids slowly fluttered open as they stared at the black screen and waved. There was no way to describe the feeling that went through him as he admired you in awe. He seemed starstruck and without thinking he blurted out "You have to visit San Diego sometime, but like soon"
Your eyes widened slightly not knowing how to respond to that "Umm...yeah I dunno, maybe someday?" Jack gasped dramatically "You never invited me over even though I'm the one you trusted enough to show your face to!"
Yet another time today, the male behind the black screen felt a blush grow on his face. "Well i-it's your fault for introducing me to your friend. And umm sorry if I was a bit too blunt there" He stuttered. "No it's fine. I'm a very spontaneous person ya know." You replied an embarrassed smile gracing your lips once more "But you could be a killer for all I know...sorry you probably hear that one a lot haha. Also, would you even be comfortable enough to meet up..." slowly you started drifting off with what you were saying. As soon as you realized you were trailing off of the topic at hand, you tried to get back to the conversation "ahem.. yeah, anyways as I was saying...someday sure. I mean...I am traveling around at the moment because I flew to Brighton. Maybe you know, we could get to know each other a bit better first" you smiled nervously as you replied.
"Ah yes...of course. Though I do have a question for you Seán. Is (Y/n) the one we spoke of a few days ago?" came back as a reply. He had a plan to gain their trust if they really were his suspected soulmate. The man next to (Y/n) nodded and gave a wink to the camera they used for the call. This action just confused you even more and it must have shown on your face because your loud friend started laughing at you. "Don't worry it was nothing bad" Jack reassured. "Hold on, is this about the random-" there was a lot of shuffling coming from the black screen. The noise had startled you a bit, causing you to stop mid sentence. "the random question about my eyes?" You continued your question, looking at that Irish friend of yours, but you didn't get a reply for there was another loud noise coming from Corpse's side of the screen. You shifted your attention back to the screen in front of you again just to be met with more shuffling and a sudden colour change of the screen. Your eyes widened as you saw a face only briefly for a split second before your vision suddenly changed. You looked around to see an unfamiliar room and as you saw the sight before your eyes you felt as though they were going to pop out of their sockets at any moment.
No...
No fucking way...
"Holy shit" you heard the words leave both your mouths. You just stared at the screen in front of you to see yourself, who apparently sat on the other side of the screen next to Seán. And you also saw the live view of a young man with black curly hair, dressed in black in a small window of the computer. You felt really dizzy all of a sudden and the light before your eyes went black briefly before returning to more used surroundings again.
Realisation dawned on you as you blinked a few times and spoke aloud "I-I just imagined that right? There's no way. C-Corpse you didn't happen to experience that right now, did-did you?"
"Holy fuck..." you heard a low mutter coming from the speakers.
Jack looked at you, eyebrows raised in confusion for a second before realization dawned on him and a knowing smirk appeared on his face as he shouted "CALLED IT!"
The two of you could not yet comprehend what was happening, let alone listen and realize what your mutual friend had to say.
After a few minutes of complete silence you tore your eyes away from the pen on Jack's desk, which had become the most interesting thing and perfect staring partner for the past minutes and shifted your gaze back to the young raven-haired individual before you, a small smile and a huge blush grazing your facial features as you spoke up, voice quiet and soft, but also full of nervousness "soo...umm...Corpse, are you gonna give me that address in San Diego?"
The question stood in the room for a few moments as silence engulfed you once again. Corpse's expression on his bright red face however, showed he was pondering."Y-yeah of course...sure...I-I'll text it to you if you give me that number of yours..." Then there was a pause. "Whe-When can I expect you then?"
This time it was your turn to think. "How about directly when you leave Brighton?" Jack chimed in. "But th-that's like in two days..." you stuttered in response. It was a nice idea and you did feel a pull to meet this handsome stranger as soon as possible. "Well yeah, that's the point is it not? I already checked for flights while you two where staring off somewhere....Sooo? Should I buy the ticket real quick? You can thank me later." Your mismatching eyes kept switching your gaze from your friend who had made this crazy suggestion and your apparent soulmate who now wore an eyepatch and was watching you expectantly while patiently awaiting your answer. A small sigh left your lips as you made your decision. When you tried to verbally answer though, your voice had left you, so you made eye-contact with the man also known as Corpse Husband, who had trusted you enough to reveal his face to you, and just gave him a small nod. He seemed to understand and gave you a reassuring smile.
"It's final then?" Seán, who had watched this whole ordeal unfold asked smiling happily as you just nodded once again "Y-yeah"
Two days later you found yourself on yet another plane ride, but this time it was not to England, nor was its destination your home. You sat on your seat in silence, music which you couldn't concentrate on, blasting through your headphones while you  twiddled with your fingers, bouncing your leg up and down quickly. What were you gonna say? He would pick you up outside of the airport in order to avoid bumping into things when the view-switching-thing would happen.
Meanwhile, the faceless YouTuber had finished tidying up his apartment and prepared everything for your arrival. He would be lying if he said he didn't look you up on the socials to learn more about you.
About half an hour before the plane would land he drove off to your designated meeting spot. He arrived there 10 minutes early so he could mentally prepare himself. About 5 minutes later he put on his black face mask and exited his car. At first he was gonna wait for you here, but his nerves and heart got the better of him, so he made his way closer inside the airport building to meet you halfway. What he didn't know was that your plane would land early. So, as he made his way through the people, which was way out of his comfort zone already, he started to see black dots clouding his view, but suddenly he came from the other side. Oh no. The body kept walking until he saw himself in the crowd.
Your eyes met as you tried to navigate through the crowd of people, it was hard as you had to control your own body somehow even though you could only see what your soulmate would usually see. Finally you had gotten somewhat closer to one another and as you came to a halt, your bodies mere inches apart as your eyesight returned to your own again. You looked up at the man in front of you in awe. Your eyes were fixated on his as you noticed the (e/c) in his one eye fade away, just to be replaced by this beautiful shade of brown that was in his other eye. The colour you knew so well because you had seen it in the mirror in one of your own eyes everyday. "Your eyes" you whispered. He smiled in return "yours too..it's nice to meet you (Y/n). My soulmate. You are even more dazzling in person" he complimented. "I can't say anything else besides the same applies to you" You smiled in return as your face went red. "Well then...Shall we?" he grinned as he took one of your backpacks and started walking. "Hey! Wait up!" You laughed as you ran to catch up to your soulmate...
