#fic talk#i'll touch up a few last things tomorrow and then post it probably#what a movie#some of the stupidest characters dumbest plot and most fucked up notions of romance#but also some incredible throughlines and threads and parallels and some truly potent romantic lines plus a very intense homoeroticism#like truly baffling how it has some of the best and worst writing i've ever seen in a movie#which is honestly a pretty great combo when you're watching old movies from the fifties#far more tolerable than contemporary movies who manage the same dichotomy#talking to myself
