Here’s some more ideas for fanart- Chihiro and Chiaki reacting to the Minecraft movie trailer.
-Your Gyaru design of Byakuya and Junko in an au where they’re like, rival models or something.
-Sakura in a cute cottagecore dress.
-Somebody (you decide who) introduced all of the Warriors Of Hope to skibidi toilet.
-Gonta playing Animal Crossing. (I feel like he’d love it)
-Mukuro playing Call of duty or some other war game.
(Since it’s spooky month, here are some Halloween adjacent ones)
-Junko and Mukuro as Ghostface from scream
-Hajime and Izuru as the twins from the shining
-Gundham and Sonia as Jack Skellington and Sally
-A Coraline AU where Makoto/Hajime/Shuichi/Kaede/Whoever you want is Coraline
-Ibuki playing Spooky Scary Skeletons on her guitar for her class
-The Warriors Of Hope go trick or treating
-Yasuhiro goes to a haunted house (either a fake one with actors, or like, a real one with actual ghosts) and is terrified. (Also works for Kaito since he’s terrified of ghosts too. If the ghosts are real maybe this takes place in your ghost au and they’re his classmates)
-Komaru casually talking to a ghost (since she can canonically see ghosts) Neither her nor the ghost realize that Toko walked in on them talking and now she’s just watching Komaru talk to air (from her perspective), and is very concerned. This one also works for your ghost au, maybe the ghost is one of her brother’s classmates.
-The design of a ghost from that au that you haven’t drawn yet.
-Ghost Kokichi and Miu getting into a fight
-Ghost Chihiro watching Byakuya tamper with his crime scene
-All the v1 ghosts in your au watching that one part in trial 5 where Hiro accuses Kyoko of being a ghost. They’re all facepalming.
-Ghost Sayaka not getting how it takes everyone so long to figure out 11037
-Ghost Rantaro+ all the other ghosts watching that one part in trial 3 where Tsumugi says that Rantaro’s ghost must be the killer.
-Ghost Hiyoko Fortnite dancing while Mikan’s getting executed in the background.
-A ghost trying to comfort their living friend/partner that can’t see them (Sakura/Aoi, Peko/Fuyuhiko, Tenko/Himiko, Kaede/Shuichi, Gundham/Sonia, Mondo/Taka, and some more but I don’t want to list them all. this can work for any pairing really, pick whichever you like best)
-Ghost Celeste and ghost Hifumi getting into a fight
-Ghost Hiyoko and ghost Mikan getting into a fight
-An alternate universe where the seance in V3 works, like for whatever reason Kiyo’s sabotage was unsuccessful but the seance was so Angie just…tells them what happened and the trial lasts 5 minutes.
-Ghost Chihiro and Ghost Chiaki reuniting after V2 ends.
(Hope you like at least some of these! Sorry if this was too long!)
I wanna appreciate this person for like almost doubling how long the list was I love you

My Danganronpa AU Masterlist
Because I realized I need some organization on my blog, lol.
First, my actual fanfiction is mostly on AO3; these will be just Tumblr stuff. Feel free to send an ask about any of these!
AU's are listed in alphabetical order, and the bullet points for each AU are in the order I think would be most coherent for anyone unfamiliar with the AU. I had to limit the amount of posts I included as bullet points, because this post really tested the hyperlink limit at first, lol. In the future, I might make separate masterlists for some of the longer, more detailed AU's in this post, so I can just link the masterlists here. That'll give me room for more links, lol.
Also, check out my Danganronpa analysis tag for posts I've made or reblogged that I just think are interesting from a meta perspective.
If you enjoy something I've posted, please leave a reply/comment. It encourages me to write more.

I've read fanfic where Nagito is jealous because he feels that Hajime thinks (remembers) about Chiaki at various times, but the idea that Nagito might feel guilty is new to me.
But it is true that Nagito might feel lonely or inferior, thinking that Hajime's awakening as Ultimate Hope was thanks to Chiaki and not to him. In my opinion, Hajime is likely to be depressed and mentally unstable even after 3, but Nagito might be afraid to see Hajime like that and speak harsh words to Hajime. Then he would think that if Chiaki were here, she would speak kind words to Hajime and regret that he himself couldn't do the same later.
However, in my personal opinion, what Hajime needs in the post-3 world is someone like Nagito rather than Chiaki, because Hajime has too much 'can do' due to the power of Kamukura's talent.
Chiaki has the mindset that if you do it, you can do it, but post-3 Hajime can do too many things, it will cause him to worry about where to start, and he will become impatient and overwhelmed by the need to use his talents.
Nagito has a very pessimistic view of things and (unless the other person is very talented) has no expectations of the people around him. And he might also have pessimistic opinions about Hajime, for example that he is basically an ordinary man, even though he has the power of Kamukura. But without people around him who think like that, Hajime would think that he can do anything he sets his mind to and try too hard at everything, which would probably lead to his self-destruction. So I hope that at some point Hajime will realise that he can control himself thanks to Nagito being there for him, and that by telling Nagito this, Nagito can gain a little confidence that he can support Hajime from a different perspective to Chiaki's.
Hmm, I may have somewhat forced the story into my interpretation 🤔 Well, at least I don't think Hajime would ever actually wish Chiaki had been here instead of Nagito, and he would rather strongly feel that he doesn't want to lose Nagito as well, even though losing Chiaki was sad enough. I hope that Hajime's feelings will be conveyed to Nagito at some point (for example, when Nagito is dying and Hajime is very desperate to help him) and that he will want to do something for Hajime instead of feeling guilty.
oh my word you turned on the stove and COOKED!!!!!!! This is definitely the kind of thing I was talking about!! :)
To be honest I think it'd be really sweet one way it could be resolved is that Hajime has to say that he loves Nagito and that he wouldn't replace him ever. Sure, he misses Chiaki and loved her but his love is with Nagito and he's so happy even if Nagito's beliefs and mindset are troubling to understand or bad for Nagito.
Like Hajime would have to be like, "Hey, I loved Chiaki, yes, but I love you and I wouldn't replace you for anything. You aren't taking her place" just like try to get it through Nagito's head lol. And maybe Hajime would believe that regardless in some way him and Nagito would fall in love and be happy if nothing Despair ever happened.
They definitely both don't want to lose each other, Hajime having already lost Chiaki, and Nagito having barely any reciprocal relationships besides Hajime and everyone dying around him due to his luck gives a lot of "I don't want it to happen again" for the both of them.
They're different people after Dr2 that experience and trauma of a killing game does a lot to you and at that point of growth, Hajime being him and Izuru, and Nagito having grown a bit more they are really perfect for each other imo.

This is my 🌸bloomer🌸 Nagito, in an ideal world (bc. to be honest my more realistic headcanon for post NWP Nagito isn’t nearly as nice and kind 😞) but this is what I think the boy deserves
I don’t know if I’ll draw my actual post NWP Nagito (at least anytime soon I have like 10 W.I.P’s) but some things I head cannon:
>nagito’s luck would not let him get off that easily (letting him die ,that is) , his cancer would probably still go into remission but I think his dementia would stay the same and continue to progress bc. It’s an easy long term bad luck that’s not necessarily fatal.
>i reject wholly and completely that izuru has luck, it’s by far one of the stupidest things that DR ever pulled (I mean, yeah nagitos talent itself is ridiculous but you’re telling me that they surgically implanted … luck..?) anyways- bc. of this, Nagito’s luck still works the same. If he gets close to any of his classmates, either horrible shit will happen or they will just die. So…. No friends for him :(
>he likely wouldn’t feel much, if any, remorse for the things he did except for try to kill them all. He’d probably also regret not having been there for the “finale” each time. His classmates would try to give him a second chance and warm welcoming but after repeated unintentional insensitive comments, badly timed jokes, and twisted rants they’d just give up. (Aside of hajime who canonically refuses to give up on nagito, not that it would do much since nagito won’t let him in) The rest of them would recover and heal and he’d remain stagnant bc his luck doesn’t facilitate growth.
>the isolation would probs make him even more kooky than before and he’d lose what little social skills and empathy he had in the first place. With what little we saw from his perspective in the final dead room- the guy would likely end up just babbling to himself all the time and laughing (which would honestly be horrifying to see) on the bright side I do think the alone time would mean he would start picking up a lot of hobbies (though I’m not 100 they’d all be… okay hobbies to have)
>eventually he’d probably have to be monitored 24/7 bc. he’s self destructive and also has a disease that gradually will make him forget to maintain his body
It’s sad, I don’t like this head canon. It’s very depressing but I’m not gonna try to lie to myself and pretend like canon nagito would ever get a happy ending. I think his backstory is a good enough predictor of the rest of his life. He can get what he wants but never what he needs (safety, love, stability, some GOD DAMN PEACE AND QUIET)

If Sara ever did get into Death Battle, her opponent would probably be Hajime over any other DR character. Why pick Kaede as her opponent?
[WARNING: This contains game spoilers for Your Turn To Die, but you probably shouldn't read the DB matchup series unless you're ready to be spoiled, so...]
//Technically I didn't pick her. She won from majority vote (oh, hehe...)
//If you're asking why we put her in the poll among Kaede's lineup of opponents, the main connections are that the two are female protagonists of death games who are both high school students and possess a high amount of charisma that draws people to them almost immediately upon meeting them; and at some point in the story of V3 and YTTD, this is brought into question. Namely Kaede's heavy-handed and forceful methods of trying to keep the group together, like convincing everyone to keep running the death road in spite of their exhaustion, leads the group to become divided as a result; and though many come to trust Sara, people start to find out that her and her family are somehow more heavily involved in the background of the Death Game overtime, and aside from that, they begin to look at the reality that putting all your eggs in the one basket that is an ordinary high-school girl is not particularly a good idea.
//Also, in spite of their genuine kindness and charismatic personalities, both of them have done rather derisive things in order to achieve their own ends, like how Kaede has attempted murder and Sara has attempted manipulation.
//Lastly, in terms of a narrative perspective, Kaede's death at the end of V3's first chapter is actually pretty similar to Joe Tazuna's death at the end of the YTTD's first chapter. Kaede is shown as the protagonist innately, but at the end of the first chapter of V3, she's executed and the role is passed onto Shuichi. Joe, while NOT the protagonist, was also set up to be a very important character, and throughout the game's lore is portrayed as such, yet he also dies from an execution at the beginning which leaves Sara traumatized and defines her character for the rest of the game. It's the same plot told from two different perspectives.
//In regards to the connections with Hajime though, is IS true that there are a LOT more.
//Like Kaede and Sara, Hajime is ALSO a protagonist from a visual novel death game series, and despite being treated like typical high school students, Hajime and Sara's true selves are somehow connected to the entire game they are forced into.
//They both had an acquaintance prior to the game who assisted them in resolving issues in their day-to-day lives at school. As a result, they developed a respect for the person and an implied crush on them, and they then turned into their main partner in the death game. That is Joe for Sara and Chiaki for Hajime. Eventually, though, after realizing they had unintentionally fallen victim to a trap set up to have them executed, they become the ones to "kill them," (Sara prolongs Joe's suffering in his death trap after being tricked by Sue Miley and puts the blame on herself, while Izuru Kamukura oversees Chiaki's execution in DR3) keeping the particular object that reminds them of them (their hairpins). Both of their companions are also eventually reborn as artificial intelligence.
//Additionally, a boy who both characters first befriended turned out not to be who they first appeared to be, and that boy ended up becoming their main rival; obviously being Nagito Komaeda and Shin Tsumiki/Sou Hiyori.
//So generally, there are a lot more connections between Sara and Hajime, and if Sara DID have a Death Battle opponent, it would probably be Hajime over Kaede. The reason why Sara was given to Kaede and not Hajime is because this series SPECIFICALLY deals with the characters in the main Danganronpa/Survivor canon, which means we'd mainly be using Hajime as he is shown in DR3 and Survivor.
//You know...where he is a VERITABLE GOD AMONG MEN!
//I totally get this matchup in the context of DR2 where he doesn't have his powers, and I would very much prefer Sara as an opponent for him over Apollo Justice, but even then, it's still basically a stomp in his favor. Even in the game world, Hajime was able to reawaken his powers and seize control of the virtual reality he is trapped in.
//So the simple reason why we didn't go for that is because it leads to the complete and utter decimation of Sara, and subsequently, a boring ass fight and analysis. Kaede has more connections than any other DR protagonist to Sara besides Hajime, and the fight stands to be a lot more fairer.
//Effectively we just wanted to avoid the Hydrogen Bomb Vs Coughing Baby fight.

I have decided to give you My Ocs for you to look at. (BE HONEST!!!)
KEITH ROGERS.
Full name: Keith Rogers
Gender: Male
Pronouns: He/him
Age: 17
Nationality: American
Sexuality: Pansexual
Ultimate Talent: ULTIMATE SUPPORTER
Personality:
He is a Kind and supportive person who cares for everyone and tries to help out Anyone who needs it, But he isn’t stupid and is pretty smart and can tell when people are trying to manipulate him.
Keith is also pretty distrusting of some Doctors due to his trauma in the past. (But that doesn’t stop him from getting help from others.)
(I hope I wrote it the best I could)
Appearance:
He Looks somewhat like Hajime Hinata but with glasses. (And without the ahoge)
(I know that feels generic and I agree.)
Backstory:
(Note - I hope I wrote this well, This is the first time creating a full backstory written wise due to how many notes I’ve created for him.)
Keith Rogers is born to a normal family around the early 2000s (Probably 2003.)
Keith was a normal kid who wanted to do good things and leave his mark on the world, Even at a early age he was a fan of movies and pop culture and stuff like that and that give him the urge to want to create books that could change the world and change peoples perspectives on it.
But this would be taken away from him due to him being put into a mental hospital that was because of a doctors misdiagnosis and stuff like that.
Keith would be in that Mental hospital and would be put though HELL!!! From Electro shock therapy to untested medication that made Keith sick weeks on end which almost Killed him.
Keith isn’t alone though…as he would make some friends with some of the child Patients who also had there own issues. (I didn’t create characters for them but I would make them in the future cause I’m still improving on my writings.)
Keith would stay in that mental asylum until one faithful Stormy night…
…Keith was in his bed and was trying to sleep though the night and decided to get a glass of water from the Hospitals cafeteria (I haven’t been to one so I don’t know where it would actually be.)
But when he was going back to his room…He saw there was dead bodies everywhere!!! Some were Hanged some were stabbed and some had there wrists Slit and there was alot of blood.
Keith didn’t know what happened…But that image stayed in his mind as he ran back to his room and was going to open the door when he saw one of the older teen patients he knew was holding a knife and was looking crazy…
“The Medication made me do this Keith…It made us go MAD…Your next Keith…Your next…YourNextYourNextYourNextYourNext…”
Keith then freaked out and ran out the window and into the stormy rainy outside…Keith had escape his nightmare…
Keith would then escape and went into hiding for a few years and the police never found him!
(Note - Keith Could have been hallucinating due to the untested medicine and the patient with the knife wasn’t really there! Or the Guy was really there and he Killed some of the patients. What was true though is that the other patients killed themselves probably due to the medication or other reasons.)
(I’m just clarifying some stuff if you need some extra notes.)
Meanwhile the mental hospital would be shut down and the rest of the living patients would be given real medical help because of the untested medication probably hurt them really bad.
Years later…Keith would be put into the 93rd Killing game created by Team Danganronpa in 2020 and it would change the world forever…
———————————————————————
I hope you enjoyed this weird Oc that I created in the past.
Keith was inspired by Hajimes backstory somewhat but with some changes and stuff like that.
AND YES!!! There will be a Izuru type character as well as a OC but they would be a separate character and they would be the Ultimate Phantom thief.
Once again I do not do reviews anymore. I put this blog down like the hideous small animal it is. But I guess if you want comments I’ll just say that that’s not really how mental hospitals work nowadays, like at all. You’re not allowed to have any sharp objects on hand, and I don’t just mean knives, I mean sharpened pencils, pens, anything with a glass screen that can be broken, etcetera. You also can’t have rope or anything else you could hang yourself with. When I went as a kid they took the drawstring out of my pants, and the beds don’t have sheets on them.
Also in the modern day ECT (electroconvulsive therapy) is still used, but only with informed consent. Basically Keith would’ve had to agree to undergo ECT beforehand. Even still, it’s only really used as a last resort.
A friend of mine actually suffered a lot of medical misdiagnosis as a kid, and they were put on so many different medications that it actually gave them brain damage, so ECT doesn’t necessarily need to be part of the backstory at all. Of course if you’re really going for the more horror movie-esque Victorian sanatorium type of mental ward, I’d just make the doctors more sinister than the patients. Sufferers of mental illness are more likely to be victims of murder than to murder others.
Basically you have a decent start and just need to rework the hospital backstory to be more believable and less accidentally demonizing the mentally ill.
Maybe I should just make this a writing help blog.

"... An interesting argument."
Her words gave him genuine pause. Was he truly the one dwelling on it? From his perspective he was simply a body. A shell filled with unbridled talent and the memories of his now-dead former self. Sonia could see him from another perspective, it seemed. How he longed to see himself as she did. To empathize. That was simply impossible for Izuru Kamakura.
In his own dispassionate way, had he come to hate Izuru Kamakura? Himself. What he was now. Maybe that was some remnant of Hajime Hinata clawing its way back. A shame the nothing in his heart was endless. His perspective would doubtless be useful. After all, that was the purpose of all of this, wasn't it? To seek his counsel. To put himself back together. He'd come to the conclusion rationally. Izuru Kamakura could not. Hajime Hinata could.
His eyes scanned Sonia's, trying to comprehend her expression's meaning. He could understand it academically, but to grasp any depth was beyond him. Still, he could see it. Her resolve. He knew Sonia when he was still Hajime Hinata. For someone as kind and righteous as her, surely realizing the depth of her crimes as Ultimate Despair must have been unbearable. To bear it must have taken an unimaginable strength of will.
Kamakura closed his eyes, truly considering her words. The princess had discovered a blind spot in him. True, he would likely never return to his old self, but the same was true for everyone. He had been considering himself uniquely wounded among the wounded. Everyone bore the scars of the tragedy. Not just the people on this island. Everyone who was still living.
He'd been feeling sorry for himself.
He opened his eyes, no expression ever appearing on his face. It struck him oddly, being seen for what he really was. He was generally good at pretending to be Hajime Hinata, but allowing someone to speak with him as Izuru Kamakura had actually given him a new perspective. In his body and mind, both versions of him remained.
Sonia Nevermind had somehow realized that even when he couldn't. He'd told her that there was no hope, and even so she pushed back. Even so she tried to reach out. Even so she had made him realize something he hadn't considered.
"I must concede. You may be correct. Perhaps there is more for me to think about, Sonia."
He doesn't notice the tear streaming down his cheek, nor would he understand why it was there if he did.
Dwelling was an interesting way to put it.
After the five 'survivors' had been revived, they'd had a monumental task ahead of them: make Jabberwock Island habitable, revive their unconscious friends, and all the while contend with The Tragedy and their part in it. The Neo World Program, the horrible murder game that prompted their friends to do horrible things, paled in comparison to the atrocities they committed in reality and the resulting trauma from it.
Sonia Nevermind wasn't immune to either, though perhaps it weighed on her more heavily than some. She'd lived a life before Junko Enoshima of wanting to always do the kind, just, and right thing by others, to support her nation, her family, and her friends alike. Little by little, through fragmented memories and irrefutable evidence of the horrors by her own hands, she was piecing together what Makoto Naegi and his friends rescued her from. The damage had been done, but she and the others had been stopped before it had gotten worse. And it could always, she learned, get worse.
That was why she kept busy, to the best of her ability and permissions: the kitchen was off-limits to her, as was the laundry room. It was safer that way, better to conserve their resources from someone whose attempts at domestic tasks were inedible at best. So she did what she could to contribute: organize projects, look after the animals on the farm, administer first aid  and other means of basic care, and look in on her friends when they needed one. Which was a bit redundant: they always needed one.
All of them, it seemed, except Hajime Hinata. The boy she'd met in the simulation had become different, changed, out of it: sure, he could put on a front and slip into the Hinata she remembered, but it wasn't genuine. It didn't register in his eyes, in his expressions: the multi-colored gaze of his instead looked distant, as if trying to place where he belonged. That was something she could assist with, even if his boundless knowledge brought along a similarly robust stubbornness with it.
She'd found him alone, as he seemed to be when no one sought him out for his help. Something that weighed on her conscience, as she chewed the inside of her mouth in contemplation: he was given the ability to do so much, and yet as a person he was overlooked.
Tumblr media
"By reminding you, whether you see it or not, that you are both Hajime Hinata and Izuru Kamakura," She replied clearly, firmly. Sonia wished she'd had the foresight to slip a compact mirror into her pocket. It would have been helpful, there on the beach, to hold it up to him so he couldn't ignore his own reflection. "Maybe you cannot change back into who you were. Frankly, I am not sure if any of us can."
"But," She continued from her spot on the beach. As the sun set, the heat was far less oppressive and the sand and waves brought a little peace. Whenever she could forget that with the scent of salt water came death in their simulated school trip turned awry. "You can choose who you want to be and how to live your life. We have done awful things, and maybe we cannot be fixed, but we can decide how we want to move forward in our lives. And you, with all of your skills and talents, have the ability to choose. Maybe I cannot stop you from dwelling upon Izuru Kamakura's crimes, but I can be here to remind you that you are so much more than them, than any of the abilities that our school forced upon you."

aesthetics for the entities, part i.   bold what applies to your muse, italics what applies situationally or only in certain verses. rest of the fears here.  this is based on a horror podcast; potentially triggering and / or upsetting content ahead!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i.  the buried.   weighed blankets.  drowning.  the comfort of a loved one’s weight.  soil and sand piling on top of you.  hugging so hard it hurts a little.  cramped hiding spots.  letting out air underwater to sink to the bottom of the pool.  walls pressing in on you. not moving from a position even though you’re cramping a little. dragging the last second before you have to inhale.  lonely subways. feeling like one with the earth.  a layer of dirt on you. looking for something below.  cardboard boxes and tiny pillow forts. hands calloused from digging. knowing that your purpose is just below the surface.  entering your final resting place before it kills you.  a storm drowning you out. dust and sand speaking to you.
ii.  the corruption. insects.  a close imitation of the natural course of life.  an illness in a community.  a rag that dirties more than it cleans.  an untreated wound.  containment. breaching containment.  unbreathable air. fungi.  one with that you love.  one with what loves you.  a corpse unfit for a glass case.  hearing a song in the sound of tiny wings and legs.  honeycomb patterns.  an ecosystem within a person.  a curse passed on. the hubris of a scientist.  an ugly death where a glorious one is owed.  blood on a handkerchief.  parasites.  something pushing up the sewer.  a mask to keep something out.  trypophobia.  knowing you belong.  death weeks after impact.  fever.  food that’s gone off.  pandora’s box. death behind a glass.
iii.  the dark.shadows.  lights that turn off by themselves.  the feel of cold marble.  a beaked creature in the night.  the difference between seeing darkness and seeing nothing.  touch of something you can’t see.  hiding under a blanket.  white, clouded eyes.  months without going outside during sunlight.  pouring dark.  unscrewing lightbulbs.  black matter.  light sensitivity.  a starless night.  time before light was created.  a shadow on the wall without a body to attach to.  withering plants.  a world without a sun.  footfalls in an empty house in the night.  a light that doesn’t reach as far as it should.  desperate reach for a flashlight.  clothes that hide your shape.  staying unperceivable.  winter months in the north.  an empty church.
iv.  the desolation.   senseless pain. warmth of faith.  wax where skin should be.  a blazing fire.  heat without a source.  the third or fourth tragedy in the family. losing everything you’ve ever held dear. so much to live for, gone so soon.  the smell of gasoline.  touch that scars.  coffee cup that never goes cold. scorch marks on wood.  inescapably warm air.  a child born in fire. death of a loved one.  a candle without a flame.  an altar in the middle of the woods.  animals with burnt fur.  plastic explosives.  burning hot metal.  sweating in an interrogation room. never touching a loved one.  disfigurement.  a kiss that ruins you. the scent of burning fat.  a tattoo that terrifies its viewer.  the agony of hellfire displayed as art.  auburn hair.  little clothing in cold weather.  a ripple in the air.  trying to cool down in vain.
v.  the flesh.   body horror. factories.  a hunger for something more filling.  never quite happy with how you look.  the terror of an animal waiting for slaughter.  a very good meal.  the liquid of a perfect steak. fighting your worst survival instincts.  a twisted bone.  long nights working out.  more than one heart.  appearance that shapes like clay.  a bag of bones.  bone broth in a pot.  knowing to fear pigs.  the butcher’s shop.  plastic surgery.  something alien inside your body.  a hunger in the gaze laid upon you.  unwitting cannibalism.  forgetting what you used to look like.  being admired for your appearance and appearance only.  teeth marks on skin. scars from wounds that should’ve killed you.  cooking in scarcity. fenced in with one way to go.
vi.  the end.  the last page of a book.  nightmares that don’t feel like nightmares. a skeletal hand.  the grip of the grim reaper around your throat.  existential pain.  ivory dice.  flatlining in a hospital.  gambling with death.  as old as the universe.  soul and spirit tied to an object.  a dream where you die. closing your eyes for the last time.  the plead of a dying one. knowing the fate of someone you know and being unable to prevent it. a thousand cords tugging you towards your end.  skin that’s freezing to the touch.  an act of desperation.  someone’s life for yours.  an eternity spent alive.  the cost of your selfishness.  watching your own burial.  causing your own burial.  the smell of death.  numbness to fear. words from someone gone.  meaninglessness of the actions or lives of single people in the universe. multiple near-death experiences you refuse to die from.
vii.  the eye.  googling something you shouldn’t have.  eureka moments. the unforgiving lens of a camera. witness reports. hidden libraries. eyes of different colors.  feeling of being watched.  a death recorded in tape.  a tragedy you can’t watch away from. endangering yourself for knowledge. truth.  analog records.  a symbol of an eye.  a watch tower.  compulsion to document.  turning on recording devices without thinking about it.  saving the evidence before the person. extracting information. truth or dare, without the dare. a thirst for knowledge. books that speak to you. coordinated shelves.  cataloguing systems.  voyeurism. police report you can’t put down.  reasoning your way out.  smell of old papers.  books that read you back.

I saw your transfem Homestuck and can I politely introduce my similar dream about transmasc Danganronpa?
Exactly the same but Hajime/Izuru, Komaeda, Makoto, and Kazuichi were all transmascs that like to hang out with Fuyuhiko, the only cis guy, who shows them only the best men's products
(I don't think he ever realized by the time I woke up)
Thoughts?
I am always happy to talk about Homestuck! I would say I am only familiar with the game from reading about it as a fan of the comic, but I still have a lot of thoughts and feelings about it, and have made (bad) attempts at writing fanfic of it and a few other Homestuck-related fandoms I enjoy (see e.g. here).
One thought is that it's strange to me that there are people who have not played a lot of it who seem to know things about it but don't get all the jokes. This happens whenever something like this happens – there are people who know about the "silly little comic" and the "theory-and-analysis fandoms" and the "long story" and so on without really understanding the core joke of Homestuck – and this is one of the more popular things about the fandoms. The core thing is (I think?) that the comic is meant to be read slowly and thoughtfully, but people are often more likely to read and talk about it "quickly" (for whatever definition of that one is more appropriate in this context). I remember some of the people I read in the fandoms doing this but it was hard for me to keep up. I think you and others who feel the same might be able to get into the jokes more if you tried to do it slowly, with enough space to put off reading just the jokes you don't like and don't understand. It helps that you have been around these people enough to make some of the jokes themselves.
If you can handle that, it's a very well-produced piece of entertainment. (I mean, I don't like it at all, and I suspect it would have been a lot worse than what it is if I hadn't been there but …). The characters are very expressive, funny, and moving, and the art is really cool. If you don't understand most of the jokes, it isn't hard to figure out what you might find cool (like the creepy creepy creepers), even if the central joke of the story is alien to you. This is a good example of why I don't like a lot of the people who post "serious commentary on it from a 'literary perspective'" in the Homestuck fandom. If you try to take it seriously, you have to make a lot of the jokes work in a way that is hard to do with jokes if you aren't "in on" them. This is why I like a lot of what was done in the fansourced story "Terezi and Gamzee are best friends" and the Homestuck subreddit. I get the sense that those people "got it," at least in part because they were there (or at least there in a lot of the same fandoms at the same time) when it was more popular and more in the public eye, and are thus more in the "in group" than the writers of the "higher" fandoms. (Of course they would take it seriously … )

hajime headcanons
i wrote these out for a cc anon but i wanna post em all in one place here
he has freckles and tans easy
i like trans ftm hajime . though i flip flop between cis hajime and trans hajime in my works haha. i rlly love him as trans tho.
he knows how to skateboard HAHA its one of the hobbies he still participates in at times. you would never guess by looking at him, though.
if he didn't get into hopes peak i swear on my life this dude wouldve been the business major in college who just picked that because he doesn't know what to do with his life & its the Default major for mfs who have no goals
he probably has lots of random knowledge about various hobbies and skills because he's tried to do so many and find his "talent", like knowing one or two songs on several instruments, knowing how to repair various utilities. he probably jumped through electives and clubs in middle school & high school. so i think hajime on his own would be a slight jack of all trades, master of none. But then he gets izuru'd and he really is a master of all trades.
as is canon he's one of those kids that fades into the background, so i bet he didn't have much of a social life. he seems like an overachiever kid, too, so he probably spent more time working and trying to find his talent than he did socializing. he probably only had unmemorable friends throughout school that didn't stick. though he does attract the attention of the sdr2 kids pretty hard, he probably had a LOT of friends. just people who came to him for help on studying, projects, etc, whatever. gets invited to some parties just because everyone kinda knows him, vaguely, and probably owes him for some help. but no close friends, no girlfriend or boyfriend. he'd be really inexperienced with close relationships by the time he meets the other sdr2 kids.
i actually like the idea that he hung out with sato & natsumi, you know, before all of that went under. i think in a non-despair au they could've been a good friend group.
really cookie cutter family. both parents working office jobs. he's emotionally detached from his family. loves them, but, there just never was the time or that big of an effort made on anyone's part to become really tight knit. he still has fond memories of his childhood, though.
kusamochi is his favorite food because it's traditionally eaten on new years. it's also one of the first foods he ever learned how to cook, with his extended family on new years. when he was younger, they would have gatherings with all extended family every new years, especially because it was hajime's birthday. but as he got older those happened less and less, and now, after everything, he still makes himself kusamochi every new years.
chiaki was his first real crush, but it was unrequited. since she was also kinda his first real friend, it was hard to differentiate between friend love and genuine crush. he knows now after everything it was probably the former, but he still loved her immensely, most than most things. even when she wasn't the best, or couldn't help him like he needed.
i think if he had a pet he would have a cat. a childhood cat he grew up with and passed away when he was in his teens, hasn't gotten a new one since because he's too focused on school & with his hopes peak workload, and his busy parents, there just wouldn't be time for caring for a pet. and i bet he would've named his cat mochi when he was little, because he liked kusamochi so much <33 sobs
post-dr3 hajime doesn't completely effortlessly use his talents, and with a lot of them, he needs to concentrate and think hard to focus and apply them. some things are reflexive, but others are more dormant. because of this, he can still get distracted and screw things up. when he does start using his talents, though, he goes more on the "izuru" side of his personality, very intense, a little scary from an outside perspective, and more cold and calculating.
he has days that are more izuru than others, since they're both him now, in essence. and because that's just, irreparable damage done onto your brain, he can have mood swings, bad days, even weeks, where he's much more cold and unfeeling. in these states, though, he tends to just work himself into a hole because it's all he can do, since that sense of "boredom" comes back on days like these. (like anhedonia, in depression. there's just some days like that, you know?) and the only one capable of helping him through these states is komaeda. (sorry, im slipping in my komahina agenda)
i kinda have a guilty pleasure for the headcanon that he grew taller from all the drugs and surgery they put him on during the project, especially because he was 18? so he still had room to grow taller. he's 5'10 in the nwp so i think 6'0 izuru/post-game hajime is, kinda hot. Though if you go by his localization height (5'8) then just put him right back up to 5'10 LOL
for the trans agenda, the reason he dislikes sakuramochi so much is because it's a treat typically eaten on "girls' day" in japan, and he always hated that day.
this isn't a headcanon. more of an observation, really. but i really dont like calling hajime "tsundere" because he doesn't fit that mold at all. he's dense & just comes off as blunt and rude, plus he's easily irritable. this isn't a tsundere trait, he isn't purposefully mean to hide his feelings for someone. he's just confused and doesn't even understand his own feelings most of the time, especially when it's a complex relationship like with nagito.   if anything, hopes peak or ch4 nagito is more of a tsundere haha cuz he purposely is mean to hajime & talks down to him to hide his own feelings that is already aware of, because he's trying to force himself to stop caring after learning hes a talentless nobody & fell to despair.

super anti-komahina salt
and this is to go further beyond
I saw a komahina fan post a write-up and it just irritates me so I want to break it down:
“If you think Komaeda is batshit insane or that his character is only about his obsession with hope and you interpreted Hinata's feelings about Komaeda as just hate of course it wouldn't make sense. Except neither of these are true for their characters.”
This is the basic surface-level narrative Komahina fans argue against, and fair enough, it’s a massive generalisation. But this argument also just irritates me because it implies everyone who doesn’t ship them do so because they don’t understand the characters well enough.
“long story short Komaeda's obsesses over hope as a coping mechanism, because it's the only thing he can cling to.”
I can agree with this in a way, but in my opinion I don’t think he’s so weak that it’s impossible for him break free from that mindset (during the game) if he really wants to.
“Komaeda doesn't like Hinata because he thinks he is talented and above him, Komaeda says he loves all ultimates but it's not real love. His love for Hinata is different. In the SDR2 drama CD he mentions that he loves Hinata because he tries to understand him.”
I can agree with this. Although the Drama CD is literally just the Free Time Events, I don’t think it’s some kind of ‘gotcha’ like people think it’d be.
But also keep in mind, yes, Hajime tries to give Nagito a chance and doesn’t immediately run away screaming because scary person he can’t understand, but Hajime also doesn’t particularly act more saintly than all the other kids towards Nagito after Chapter 1. Nekomaru and Kazuichi seem to at least try to hear Nagito out before they punch him in the face. Mahiru seems like she was the first one to consider giving him breakfast. Hajime tries to stop Akane from attacking him after the Chapter 1 trial, but mostly because he’s resigned to the fact it won’t change what he did, and he then changes his mind and gets pissed off when Nagito decides to taunt him about his amnesia in response. And it’s Sonia who finally settles everyone down. So yes, Hajime tries to understand Nagito, but in the actual plot itself that’s not a special trait unique to him.
It’s only ‘unique’ if you choose to do the Free Time Events, and the Free Time Events...are basically not canon. They’re more like a what-if scenario the player chooses to view, and the dialogue was written from that perspective.
As in, maybe it’s canon that they’d interact like that if they spent time together on the island, but it’s not canon that Hajime does and wants to do that during the story. Because you can do them for everyone.
“And they reach a mutual understanding in DR3 because the two of them are more alike than Hinata would like to admit.”
Um...
Well, this is why DR2.5 is bullshit
I agree they’re similar, but I think both of them knew this from the very beginning. It’s not exactly a reason for reconciliation and forgiveness. The fact they have similarities is the exact reason why Hajime is so upset at his betrayal, and snaps back at Nagito every time he brings that up. So I don’t know if that’s really a good reason to explain why they’ve forgiven each other come DR3.
“Komaeda doesn't see himself as above untalented reserves either, because in 2-4, after realizing the truth about Hinata he says that they are the same, stepladders for hope. He was lashing out at all the students for being despair. They are similar, because they both share the same views that talent is everything.”
And then Hajime gets his character development for the rest of the game all so he can realise talent isn’t everything. So...?
“Now from Hinata's end, a lot of people seem to miss this about him, but he is someone who denies his feelings when they get inconvenient, he is called a tsundere by monokuma”
I guess this is a diss against the surface-level people and people who are like “but the text literally says this”. But even then, the game literally shows Hajime’s inner thoughts. If he’s conflicted about things, the text generally shows that too, even if it’s with a careful inclusion of a ‘...’
So I don’t think we should take that trait as an excuse to literally ignore what the text says.
He was felt pumped when Komaeda was out of critical condition, but he thinks "why do I have to feel pumped, oh well best not to think about it"....because Hinata likes to avoid facing things that inconvenient him. Hinata finds it hard to trust Komaeda and doesn't play along with him, because he is afraid of getting caught in his pace, and not because he hates him and thinks he is better off dead.
This part literally read like a high-schooler’s english essay, and maybe this kid actually is a high-schooler, tbh. Because that is one big leap from “Hajime finds it difficult to deal with his feelings” to “since Hajime finds it difficult to deal with Nagito, it means he doesn’t hate him”.
“I don't think Komaeda is a fundametally bad person but is shaped to be what he is because of his luck cycle. In his last FTE, Hinata asks what Komaeda would do if didn't have his luck cycle, and his answer was something along the lines of " a normal life, devoid of hope and despair". And we get to that his innermost desires is to live a normal life in the OVA, and his character song zansakura zanka.”
He can also just decide to not believe in his luck cycle.
Also, in the OVA, he’s embarrassed by that inner desire and tells World Destroyer he hopes no one saw that maybe he wishes for a world without talent.
Like his desire to be a good person is so hidden that he doesn’t want people to know.
“Hinata even mentions Komaeda isn't trying to trick anyone for selfish reasons in his report card, so it's a shame to see so many people attribute all of Komaeda's actions to malice just because of what Hinata thought of him in chapter 5 because it wasn't clear what Komaeda's reasons were at that point.”
Okay, a few things to unpack here:
Just because Nagito is doing things ‘for the greater good’, doesn’t mean it’s not also selfish. Hajime isn’t going to say that because Hajime doesn’t realise that. You can’t exactly trust him with being able to articulate everything about a character’s worldview. Izuru would. He probably does in Chapter 0. (And that’s why he seems disgusted by him).
Also, there’s “maybe Hajime is a slightly unreliable narrator because he tries to avoid thinking about difficult things”, and there’s “actually, the majority of how Hajime views Chapter 5 is unreliable because he didn’t know for sure if Nagito’s plan was malicious or not, it was just his gut feeling”.
What about the video message after Chapter 5? What about having to spell out ‘KILL US ALL’? What about Chapter 0 showing how in the real world Nagito had completely lost it? It’s not like the game was trying to present Nagito as any little bit more sympathetic after the trial. If anything, every piece of new info reinforced that mindset Nagito was filled with malice, up to the ‘fake Makoto’ saying that he somewhat understood him. The fake Hope made by Junko to trick them.
If you compare Chapter 5 in 2 to Chapter 5 in V3, you can see how the positioning is different. V3 does the “the villain tries to make himself look the worst he can in the mind of the heroes when in reality his real intentions were different” a lot better. More flat-out intentionally - the protagonist kind of literally giving a monologue about how the character was morally grey and even at the end there they couldn’t say they knew their true intentions. But also it’s just not as...sinister as 2-5. No ominous chanting, no dismembered limbs, none of the characters feeling completely out of their element and terrified. I think it’s text that Nagito is supposed to be villainous in Chapter 5 and even past Chapter 5.
So...
I can at least understand where Komahina comes from, but god it annoys me
Unpacking it like this, I can see it’s not even fair to argue back a lot of it - the stuff people are saying do make sense and are arguing against kinds of people I have seen.
Besides, I’m not arguing Komahina ‘can’t be canon’.
My view is just I think Hajime deserves better than a character like Nagito, who never repented for his actions on-screen or even gave much of a hint that he wanted to repent for his actions.
And that it’s still easy to argue that Nagito is a bad person even with his trauma.
Not everyone who calls Nagito an awful person is an idiot who doesn’t know how to read text past the surface, you can still make a nuanced take with that conclusion
for god’s sake

Komaeda Nagito is
Capricious
Stubborn
Frustrating
Unstable
Desperate
Hopeless
Lovely
Problematic
Through many deep dives, Alter Ego is confident in identifying Komaeda Nagito’s character. As confident as a program can be, although it was not the prerogative to know and understand Komaeda Nagito. The mission was simply to retrieve Komaeda Nagito, the last of the remnants.
It had taken many deep dives. Many methods had to be used. Some involving direct contact from the start, and others requiring more distance, more detachment. All the same, there had been many confrontations.
It is not Alter Ego’s mission to know and understand Komaeda Nagito, but with how much time spent in Komaeda Nagito’s dreamscape, it was inevitable to take notice of and learn such things.
When Komaeda Nagito was extracted—the mission was complete.
That was it.
It was over.
--
It should have been over.
“World Destroyer-kun! Alter Ego-kun! Destroyer-kun? Ego-kun? Which would you prefer I call you?”
“I have no preference.”
“I do know another Alter Ego-san,” Komaeda was saying. Acting sweet and cheerful. As if there isn’t somewhere else he should be. “The one made by the Ultimate Programmer. They’re much more polite and pleasant than you are.”
“And yet, I am the one you are speaking to.”
Komaeda laughs, smiling without care. But there are signs of tension from the tightness of his shoulders to even the way his elbow dug into the table’s surface with his chin pressing down hard into his fleshy palm. Only the mechanical limb was able to remain completely still.
“You are troubled,” is the obvious observation to make. “I presume it is about the other remnants and my master.”
“Your presumptions would be correct,” Komaeda says. His smile is twitching around the corners. The typical sign of contradictory emotions. Of admiration and irritation. “If you already know, then I don’t have to explain anything, right?”
“Explanations would be...” A pause. “Unnecessary.”
Komaeda seems pleased with that answer, but somewhere in the back of Alter Ego’s coding was the curious thought if that had been the correct response.
How irritating.
--
Among the methods, there had been direct contact. Komaeda Nagito does not remember this, but these attempts are in fact stored in Alter Ego’s data banks. If one knew how to dig, the footage of those attempts could be replayed. All taken from Alter Ego’s vacant gaze at the time.
A gaze that caught Komaeda Nagito in a state of shock. Which had observed and scrutinized the way Komaeda Nagito shrank in on himself, pulling further and further away from the program’s prodding.
“I’m already at peace, so don’t bother me anymore,” Komaeda Nagito had said. “You’re—an annoyance.”
Irritating.
--
 “Destroyer-kun!”
“Is that the name you have decided on?”
“If you have a problem with it, just say so!”
“I have nothing to say.”
Once again, Komaeda Nagito has visited. How did Komaeda Nagito even find this place?
The answer was obvious.
(“It was just good luck!” Komaeda Nagito had exclaimed, looking so unbearably joyful. “And after spraining my wrist...! It was only a matter of time before something good happened!”)
“I made my own coffee today,” Komaeda was saying now. “It was so awful! So brutal! A truly contemptible and pitiful attempt! I got so sick that I threw up in the sink!” His spirited performance turned downcast in a heartbeat. “Koizumi-san was quite cross with me. According to Owari-san, the smell was so awful.”
“Yes, bile does have a stench,” was the dry, unimpressed response. “The odor gets worse depending on what was ingested.”
“Oh, Destroyer-kun,” Komaeda mourns. “I just keep messing up around them. No matter what I do, I can’t help being wretched!”
“That mistake...was hardly serious.”
For some reason, Komaeda’s distraught expression was troubling. Had he, a program, developed a bias? A proximity bias? If so, that was a bug.
One that his master needed to patch out. His master would have to be informed. Informed of the displeased reaction that comes about simply because Komaeda Nagito is distressed.
“It’s not just that mistake,” Komaeda sighs next. “It’s—surely you know the saying. The straw that breaks the camel’s back?”
“I am aware, but that perspective is flawed.” It was aggravating. Truly aggravating. Perhaps not a mere bug but a virus in how vicious this sensation became. “You are not...”
The sensation gets aggressive. It threatens to consume the entire system. It gets to the point where he needs to be reset, but—
Komaeda is...
“I’m sorry,” Komaeda is apologizing. Komaeda gives such a miserable smile. “I’m troubling you, aren’t I?”
“No.” Immediate. Almost panicked. “No, Komaeda...”
“Ah.”
Komaeda blinked at him. His expression changed. Eyes went wide, mouth parted open. An expression of surprise.
“...I didn’t think a program could make an expression like that.” Then, a laugh. “Oh, wait, what am I even saying? You’re not even the first advanced artificial intelligence I’ve ever met.”
Komaeda seemed taken aback but tickled nonetheless. When faced with something incomprehensible, it was...understandable to simply take it in bewildered stride.
“I meant to reassure you,” he realizes now. “But it appears I am inadequate at such a task.”
“It’s alright,” Komaeda says with such sincerity. “Just your intent rather warmed my heart, Destroyer-kun. You’re such a kind person. I wonder who you got that from...?”
Komaeda ponders this as if he doesn’t already know the answer. As if that very answer doesn’t cause Komaeda’s smile to falter.
“Thank you, Destroyer-kun,” Komaeda says next, and it will have to do for now.
--
Komaeda visits him regularly. Not every interaction is worth remembering, but he finds that he perks up regardless. Sometimes, Komaeda won’t converse much; instead just settling down in the chair with a coffee. Sipping demurely and rubbing exhaustion from his eyes. The only sounds that transpired would be Komaeda’s breathing, the whirl of his robotic arm, and the buzzing of the program.
Komaeda would finish his coffee, give him a simple smile, would leave, and repeat.
Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.
And then, Komaeda lays his head down in front of him.
“Let me rest for a bit,” he tiredly requests. Silence is taken as acquiesce, and it isn’t long before Komaeda Nagito drifts off into slumber.
It’s strange.
That position is not comfortable, and yet, Komaeda Nagito sleeps with ease. Perhaps the other had simply been exhausted—but perhaps Komaeda Nagito felt secure here. With only a mere AI for company, Komaeda Nagito was relaxed.
But not as relaxed as he had been in the program, surrounded by friends who cared for him and encased by a world designed to keep him safe.
He does wonder if Komaeda Nagito yearns for that place despite having verbally dismissed it in the past. He likely does. Komaeda Nagito may have been sincere in the thoughts and feelings he expressed, but he wasn’t very honest to himself. What a frustrating contradiction.
And, yet, the artificial intelligence that has long since fulfilled its objective...cannot help but find this person fascinating.
Fascinating and lovely.
How could something like this happen?
--
He watches Komaeda Nagito sleep.
He watches Komaeda Nagito sleep.
He watches Komaeda Nagito sleep.
Komaeda Nagito sleeps.
Komaeda Nagito does not wake up even when the door opens.
“So this is where he is,” his master sighs. His master looks a bit ragged but also relieved to see Komaeda’s hunched shoulders. No matter the occasion, his master strides forward with grace and purpose. His master then lightly takes those hunched shoulders.
“Do you plan to awake him?” he asks, and it is strange, isn’t it, to have this be the first question he has asked his master in so long. “He has been sleeping well up until now.”
His master flinches the slightest bit even though that response should have been expected. Perhaps, his master is fatigued enough to impair his instincts.
“I...” His master swallows. Nervously. “I do know that he’s been visiting you as of late... Alter Ego.”
Alter Ego is not surprised to hear this. Obviously, his master would have known. Why, then, does his master look so uncertain?
“Master,” he says and asks with all the grace that can be generated from a machine, “Are you feeling insecure?”
There is a reason why there is no such thing as a ballerina android. Subsequently, this is why artificial conductors are much more inefficient for orchestras than human ones are.
“That obvious, huh,” his master mutters as if the dryness of the question had rubbed him raw. His master sighs. Inhale, exhale. His master regards his creation with brief disdain before it’s blinked away, leaving behind a vulnerable, insecure human.
A human which is still more capable than a machine.
“Komaeda really likes you,” that human says, like he can’t believe it or understand it either. “Komaeda would rather be around you than anyone else. Including me.”
“It...” Alter Ego processes this, and finally, finally, he comes to a logical explanation. “It is not about liking me. It is about the simulation of companionship with none of the expectation nor the baggage. Komaeda Nagito is lonely, but he fears intimacy. With a mere program, he has nothing to fear.”
The human—Hinata Hajime, Kamukura Izuru, no, simply his master—blinks at him.
“I suppose that is one explanation,” he says slowly. “But, it’s never that simple. Not with people, and especially not with Komaeda.”
“That seems like a generalization, master,” Alter Ego points out.
“It is, but... Urgh. You’re basically saying that Komaeda finds you unfulfilling, which is a bit...” His master shook his head. “That... Do you really know for sure if that’s true?”
...
Machines are not designed to feel pain. And he in particular was not given the capacity to come even close to pain due to his purpose. To feel pain himself would have been counterproductive. His master had known that. Thus, his master had taken great pains to ensure that he would never feel pain.
Still, Alter Ego had paused and mulled that painful question over.
“It is a sound explanation,” he decides on, but his gaze lingers on Komaeda Nagito.
Komaeda Nagito, who murmurs so softly in his sleep. Smacks his lips. Looks at peace.
“I guess it is beyond your capacity for understanding.”
Alter Ego snaps back to attention. His master regards him coldly and warily. Irritated and insecure. Since he understands his master, it does not bother him.
“If Komaeda Nagito thinks himself fond of me...”
He is mistaken.
That is what Alter Ego should say, but for one reason or another, he can’t bring himself to continue.
It doesn’t matter. His master can fill in the blanks, and given by the way his brow furrows and his expression darkens, his master does just that.
Soon after, though, his master’s look softens.
“It’s a good thing,” he sighs. “It’s great that Komaeda’s not completely keeping to himself and that he’s socializing at all, but... I just wish he’d give us another chance. Sure, not everyone’s willing to welcome him back but... We should get the opportunity to try, right?”
“You cannot force him,” Alter Ego points out. “Komaeda Nagito is not obligated. He should approach you because he wants to.”
Not to mention—
“If you respect his feelings, you should not be having this conversation that he can overhear.”
His master laughs. It’s harsh and lacking mirth, but when his master turns his attention to Komaeda and pats his shoulder, he’s nothing short of gentle. Gentle while wearing a melancholy smile.
“Both of us would be able to see right through him,” his master says. “It’s taken a lot, but I think I understand him well enough.” Idly, almost without thinking, his master moves his hand from Komaeda’s shoulder to card through the fluffy white strands. “I’ll help the others understand, too. So that when he’s ready...”
His master trails off. His master stops. His master shook his head.
“Komaeda...will end up hurting his neck if he sleeps like this. I’m gonna take him to his room, okay?”
His master hoists up Komaeda Nagito with ease. Holds him close and secure. Gives Alter Ego one last wry smile before heading out.
Alter Ego simply watches him go.
--
“Destroyer-kun, do you think I could speak to you in person?”
Komaeda fidgets. He’s visibly sheepish.
“Did something happen?” is asked in return instead of giving a proper response.
“It’s not that I dislike talking to a screen, but I’d like...” Komaeda trails off, his cheeks pink. He sputters softly, jaw working on the words he can’t bring himself to say. “That is...if it’s okay with you... Obviously I understand if...mm...”
“Is that really what you want?”
“Yes!” Komaeda’s chirpy response was immediate. “But is that okay?”
It would be best to decline.
“It is fine. There just has to be a degree of setup first. Follow my instructions closely, Komaeda Nagito.”
“O-Oh I don’t want to risk breaking anything.”
“It is fine. Even the total destruction of this island wouldn’t be the end of my existence.”
“Ooh!” Komaeda lights up. “Just like Hinata-kun and Kamukura-kun, then!”
Komaeda looks so happy.
It’s dazzling even with a screen in-between, but he is durable so it will be fine.
It has to be.
--
“Hey. Can you hear me?”
Komaeda Nagito wakes up on the beach.
“...Destroyer-kun?”
Komaeda Nagito blinks up at him owlishly but when he takes his hand, it’s with a desperate grip.
“It worked,” he breathes. “It really...”
“I had thought the setting being the same as the initial Neo World Program would be easiest to work with,” is explained as Komaeda Nagito is helped up. “How long do you plan to stay here?”
“Not long, I just...” Flushing, Komaeda is smiling so wide it looks painful. Yes. It is difficult to take, and yet—it is nice. “I wanted to talk to you. But...”
Komaeda Nagito does not let go of the other hand. If anything, he grips that hand even tighter.
“I...wanted it to be like this. Selfish, right?”
“It is human. But—if you wished for intimacy, my master...” Strange. He ends up trailing off. “My master...”
Komaeda Nagito squeezes his hand briefly. Once again.
“I’m not like that with them yet,” he said. Softly. But, in a way where significance ran underneath the words. Tucked under that light, airy chucker. “Destroyer-kun is my only friend for now.”
“I...”
Strange.
The words.
Wouldn’t—
“But even when I do manage to muster up my courage, I’m not going to forget you,” Komaeda went on, promised—seriously, this guy—“Destroyer-kun. The last thing I want is for you to be lonely.”
“I...do get lonely.” He blinked. Multiple times. “When I think of how you should be with your peers, I get lonely.”
“You’ll come with me,” Komaeda said suddenly. “We’ll work to better ourselves together. You’re much too capable to simply be left to rot.”
“My purpose is fulfilled.”
“Helping the world is surely more fulfilling than talking with me,” Komaeda says so easily with such assertion. “It’s no good to be so aimless, Destroyer-kun! Let’s do our best! You can even talk to other AI! We’ll both be among our peers, but we’ll still be friends, too...”
He wondered if that would truly be the case. It seemed silly that someone called the World Destroyer could build relationships with others—and yet...his relationship with Komaeda Nagito was undeniable.
Perhaps, it would be fine?
No.
It had to be fine.
“We can’t stay like this,” he realizes. “The world is open to us, and we must go there.”
“Yes,” Komaeda agreed, melancholy but resolute. “We’ll go together. You helped me out of the program, so I feel wretched for continuing to ask for your support, but...”
“You are offering yours in return, Nagito,” he said. “It’s fine.”
Komaeda smiles so brilliantly that it was too much for the simulation and the program. But, he shone with a hope that made the World Destroyer smile once again.

Itatchiyama: Golf
(there are no positions in golf)
idk man, somethin about them being an academy and idk man.
Believe it or not, at my school at least Golf is a really big sport.

Something about Daishou and Numai being runners just...stuck with me I guess.
It requires a lot of determination, and they definitely have that so yeah.
Kamomedai: Ice Hockey
(I also had to double up on them cause there’s only 6 positions in ice hockey)
Centre: Sachiro Hirugami
Left Defensemen: Kazuyoshi Bessho & Aikichi Suwa
Right Defenseman: Gao Hakuba &Liam Tokura
Goalkeeper: Keiichiro Kanbayashi

Goalie: Shinsuke Kita & Michinari Akagi
Mujinizaka: Military Drill team
**This is typically only in JROTC units, BUT you practice, compete and it is physically taxing, thus I am counting it as a sport. Please note I am not implying that they are going into the military or anything like that, I just thought it fit the best for them!**
For best results, I would recommend looking up what a military drill formation looks like if you have never done drill before!!
Platoon Commander: Wakatsu Kiryu
Guidon: Nozomu Mami
1st Squad leader: Subaru Hondo
2nd Squad leader: Michiru Usuri
3rd Squad leader: Keisuke Unnan

April Fools Special Review: Part 1
I had some ideas regarding this day. I initially was going to do a spoof review of a hypothetical Session 3 arc, but given that its looking that the Puppetmaster is gonna be a big wham arc, I think I’ll hold off because if I write say how Kana manages to deduce where Iroha’s family hideout is located and then she freaking dies, that kinda kills the joke. Then I was going to do a spoof review on why Oncoming Storm is the best arc ever, but then it would be too obvious that this was a joke. So instead, because I said I was going to do a new ‘style’ of reviewing, how about a test drive of that? After all reviews aren’t just about the Arcs overall, you can also do reviews on various characters.
So, this is going to be a non-jokey review on an individual character. This is just a test run to see what general reception of these character reviews are. If you guys like them, I have a few characters lined up for this to sprinkle in if the Mod feels like they want a break at some point. If not well…you just get a one-shot character review and that’s that. With that out of the way who is going to get the honours of getting the character review treatment?
Let’s start things off with a strong one. It’s widely accepted that the best Arc overall is the Concert Arc, so naturally the focus should be on one of the Otonokoji Twins and because Kanade looks like she is still got more to bring to the table, lets focus on who’s had the best character development by far, the would have been Ultimate Vocalist, and Death herself; Hibiki Otonokoji!
Important Note: This review is factually accurate up to Connections. As Puppetmaster, the current Arc is still in progress I’m not counting that so if something big relating to Hibiki occurs there it won’t be included in this.
Shattering the Bird Cage
Out of all the SDRA2 characters, the character who got robbed the most in terms of development was Hibiki. I’m not happy with Nikei’s ultimate fate or the fact that Iroha got zero character development but overall, I do feel satisfied with their character arcs, and can see what LINUJ was trying to do. Hibiki never got that chance as she died in Chapter 3, y’know that one chapter which has a notorious reputation for robbing characters of their character developments? *Taka, Hiyoko and Tenko coughs* I already had bad feelings that something was gonna happen to the twins because I seriously thought LINUJ was going to kill one off, and then the other would be a survivor. And it could have worked both ways, Hibiki being offed and Kanade learns to be more assertive of herself, or Kanade dies and Hibiki realises she needs to mature as an individual. As the game progresses though, you get the sense there’s something wrong with the twins. Kanade seemed too calm and too useful and as I mentioned in a previous arc review, I thought that Kanade was lying about her talent as that’s a common occurrence in Danganronpa. But Chapter 3 changed all that. After realising the previous two murders were indirectly caused by her immaturity and that she needs to take responsibility for her actions, Hibiki starts to go through some character development and becomes more useful to the group overall. But then the motive videos and her bitch of a sister slam-dunked that.
Point is, Hibiki couldn’t break away from her sister even if she tried. Heck, the Otonokoji Twins share their FTEs so you CANNOT do Hibiki and Kanade individually. As I pointed out to the Mod, I understood from a lore perspective why this was done, but I still found it very frustrating. But one of the main goals of ASOOT is that characters who got little to no character development or were done dirty, got their redeeming chance. And by heck did we get it. Nikei may have been the first Another character to make an appearance, but he wasn’t the first Another character mentioned, heck he was only the 4th character, as the Twins and Kanata came before him! When Hajime was searching information on people who would get caught up in the Tragedy during the Practical Exams arc when recovering from his ankle injury, he came across information that the Otonokoji Twins as part of their nationwide tour, were planning to visit Tokyo on July 5th. After hearing from the Anons how much of a bitch Kanade was, he made notes to do something about it but nothing much came from it. But as we know the Practical Exams had a heck of a fallout as Hajime revealed his superhero persona Kasugano for the first time to the general public, and the fallout of his exposing the teachers’ abuse meant that a third of the facility staff got fired, including the school’s guidance councillor. This meant Hope’s Peak brought in more people, mainly alumni from previous classes, and among them was Yoruko Kabuga, the former Ultimate Hostess. She requested to see Hajime which seemed very unusual. Sure, Hajime had a bit of a reputation in Hope’s Peak at that point as his preventing of Natsumi and Sato from killing themselves was extremely well known in the school and he has a few friends from the Main Course, but a newcomer like Yoruko wouldn’t have known that, it’s got to be more than that. And when talking to Yoruko, she accidently slipped and called Hajime ‘Kamakura’, but she shouldn’t have known about Hajime and Izuru being linked. Firstly, knowledge on the Project shouldn’t be known to her, and secondly Hajime cancelled his participation in said project. The only way that Yoruko could have known is if she is like Hajime and came from the future. A quick trip to the Physics building and a scan from Umeko confirmed that yes, Hajime isn’t the only time traveller around and Yoruko is another fellow resident from the OG Timeline.
Yoruko now being a fellow time traveller, obviously meant she threw her lot in with Hajime and joined the Quantum Crew. With that Hajime was able to get more details about the Void Killing Game from her, trying to persuade her that Void CAN be redeemed, and said they are no different from him and his friends, who did more fucked up shit then they did. Yoruko was relucent but she did relent in the end. And with Yoruko, Hajime was able to get precise details and after hearing how deprived Kanade truly was and that Hibiki was the biggest victim in all of this, he decided to go to the concert for two reasons. Firstly, to expose to the world Kanade’s true nature and get her arrested, and secondly to rescue Hibiki.
Naturally things didn’t go to plan at first as Kanade showed precisely WHY she gotten away from killing for so long as she tricked Hajime and Chiaki into eating poisoned chocolate and they died slowly and painfully. But little did Kanade or Hajime know is that he had a special power. When bathing with his girlfriends, yes plural, they noticed that Hajime had 9 glowing dots on his back and they are emitting concentrated Tachyonic energy that Umeko couldn’t figure out why this was going on. But when Kanade killed Hajime, he suddenly found himself outside of the hotel with Chiaki and the twins a few hours earlier. He hastily changed his plans and once back at the hotel he looked in the mirror and saw that his once 9 dots are now 8, implying he has up to nine lives, and he used one up. It’s a cool mechanic and it makes sense because whatever power bestowed Hajime with this ability also knows that Junko is a very tough opponent to defeat. It also gives Hajime a bit of a safety net so if things go really wrong, he can just reset and try again.
But eventually Hajime and co succeeded in nailing Kanade and getting her arrested, and Hibiki’s worldview just shatters. Imagine if you are Hibiki for a second. Throughout your entire life your parents have neglected you and all you had was your twin little sister. You did a lot of activities together and eventually discovered you two are really good at music, and thus decide to put a band together, and it became so good and popular that you decided to hit the idol industry. Your band, Melody Rhythm, topped the charts and your nationwide tour is a huge success. Sure, there is that annoying ‘curse’ rumours about how everyone close to you disappeared or committed suicide, but those are dumb rumours by haters, you don’t let that bother you. Then in Tokyo, you meet up with some students from Hope’s Peak Academy and they are looking to scout you and your sister for the prestigious school that graduation guarantees success for life. Hajime, the Ultimate Detective, said that those ‘curse rumours’ aren’t mere rumours, there is in fact a stalker that is after you and your sister and they are responsible for all the disappearances and suicides that have plagued your life. That’s…worrying but surely with the Ultimate Detective on the case, the stalker will be caught, those nasty curse rumours will disappear and you have new friends in Hope’s Peak Academy, right? And you get along really well with him and his girlfriend Chiaki, the Ultimate Gamer. Then one day you and Chiaki are shopping and meet up with some of Chiaki’s friends, who also seem like nice people. You are a bit worried where Kanade is but Chiaki said she’s with Hajime so they will join up with you two shortly. And then Chiaki goes to the bathroom and suddenly, the speakers in the shopping mall come to life. A conversation between Hajime and Kanade is broadcasted across the entire mall, and the truth comes out. All those disappearances…all those suicides…all those accidents…all of them were caused by the one person you trusted above all else, and worst of all, she did it because she had an incestuous lust over you and would kill anyone who gets close to you in order to degrade your mind into a subservient ‘puppet state’ where you do EVERYTHING she asks for. And just like that life as you knew it was OVER.
Unsurprisely Hibiki does not take the news well, so badly she takes it she immediately turns into the ‘puppet state’ where in her catatonic state, Chiaki and Mikan had to carry her to Yoruko’s car, thankfully, Hibiki is a short and light girl so this task is a lot easier than it could have been. I mean if Iroha of all people was able to carry Kanade back to the Monocruise in SDRA2, then I’m sure the combined efforts of Chiaki and Mikan could cope. After Kanade is tied up having been beaten to near unconscious by Sonia, clearing up all evidence that Hajime was there, and Gundham having finished leaving the evidence behind for the police, everyone then heads back to Hope’s Peak, where Hibiki is brought before the psychologists of the school, Koroko and Miaya. Neither of them could make heads or tails of the ‘puppet state’ and for the first few days, Hibiki was stuck in the Puppet State, being fed IV drips to keep her alive. Despite all the best efforts of Koroko and Miaya, they couldn’t snap her out of it, or even figure out what it was. Yoruko though had an idea to restore Hibiki. According to Kanade, the Puppet State does wear off after a while but we don’t know what the time limit is at the moment, or if the shock of finding out her sister’s true nature regressed to into a permanent Puppet State. Yoruko then over the course of the next few days, went through various interviews that the Otonokoji Twins had and got some voice clips of Kanade together in order to digitally construct a command for Hibiki to wake up. Once she got it together, it worked and Hibiki was now awake, having been in the Puppet State for 3 days.
//And so it begins!

AU: The “love interests” in each main story swap games.
Kyoko would go to V3, Chiaki to THH, and Kaede in SDR2– I think these combinations could create some interesting timeline and story changes- And the death order would definitely be different.
Just imagine, two ultimate detectives? What conflicts would Shuichi have if the group trusted Kyoko more? What mystery would be unraveled that ties back to the duplicate detectives?
And then in THH, maybe Makoto would learn to not be as dependent on people, and learn to see things from another perspective with the help of Chiaki!
And then, imagine, Kaede and Hajime sassing their classmates around or maybe butting heads later in the game! And then in the anime- Kaede and Hajime become good friends and then- Well, Despair Arc. This could also play around with that one talent development scene of Izuru and Kaede!
These pairings too, pfft— Shuichi and Kyoko just give off edgy and serious vibes— Makoto and Chiaki are the cinnamon roll squad!— And Kaede and Hajime are going to make you do your homework! The possibilities are endless!

5. What does the name ‘Izuru Kamukura’ mean to you?
“Izuru Kamukura is hope. He saved the world from Despair, and sacrificed himself to do it. I love him, and...I think of him as a friend, or I want to. I want to be his friend. I wish I could’ve when he was still here. I answered this one more thoroughly in another ask.”
Tumblr media
36. What role did you play in your killing game?
“I’m...not sure. Compared to everyone else, I think my roles are confusing, aren’t they? I was a victim, but also a culprit. I committed my own murder and yet I...didn’t. Not enough to save someone else from being executed for it. I think it’s hard to assign yourself roles anyway. I’m always going to be looking at me from a biased perspective of my experiences, and not how I looked to my classmates. But I’ll do my best. I was a victim, and a culprit, but not quite a Blackened. If Hajime, as the Ultimate Hope and most important person in that group, was the protagonist, then I...Well, at first, I’d like to think I was the love interest, but that’s probably not true, ahaha. I at least was his friend, or I tried to be. I thought I was. I showed him around, I introduced him to everyone, I spent a lot of time with him, I tried to help him however I could. And then I ended up hurting him by being involved in a murder. Is that...Is that a role? A best friend/love interest who spends a lot of time with you in the very beginning, but then ends up betraying you by getting involved in the first murder somehow? No, that’s dumb. Let’s see...Something else then...After the first trial, I was probably the antagonist. Hajime hated me a lot after that. I’m sure he saw me as his enemy, even though I was completely in love with him. He thought he couldn’t trust me, he was annoyed with how cryptic I was being, and I got accused of being the Mastermind. Is that a role? An antagonist who is always mysterious and cryptic, who gives you all the information in trials in a really confusing way, that you don’t know if you can trust even if you spend a lot of time together, who gets accused of being the Mastermind when they’re not, who disappears at some point late in the story and only shows up again right before they’re supposed to die-- but also always ends up falling in love with the protagonist? Is that a role? I don’t think so...I’m sorry, I’m bad at this. I’m not sure what role I would play.”
Tumblr media
40. What would be in your motive video? Would it make you snap?
“If my motive video was supposed to make me snap and kill someone else, then it would have to be for the sake of hope. You could get me to do anything if you could convince me it was for the sake of hope. But if my motive video wanted me to murder myself, then it would be about how no one loves me, everyone wants me gone, and I have no real reason to survive. But I answered this more thoroughly in another ask.”
Tumblr media
43.Do you feel guilty for anything you did in your killing game?
“I feel guilty for everything I did in my killing game. Everything. I was so horrible. I deserved to die. Everything I did was completely irredeemable. I got Byakuya killed and made Teruteru do it. I found out that my classmates were in Despair and I kept it to myself. I said nothing and just got angry with them and yelled at them and treated them like dirt. I threatened them with fake bombs. I blew them up in the hotel, and I didn’t care if they got injured or not. I staged my own horrible gruesome murder and they had to see it. I made Chiaki get executed. I tried to get all of my classmates killed. I feel guilty for all of that. None of it...None of it worked out the way I planned. Either my plans were botched and backfired horribly, or my motivations were skewed because I thought something was true and it wasn’t. Because I thought something would help and it didn’t. I was only trying to help hope...I was only ever trying to help hope. But it didn’t work. Someone like me can’t aspire to make a difference. I should’ve just let things play out. In trying to save everyone, I only ruined everything. I didn’t know what I was doing. I didn’t know what hope needed. I almost destroyed true hope entirely, all because I thought my classmates would go back to being Remnants of Despair. I feel guilty for everything I did. But, some things...I don’t feel as guilty about them as I should, and that makes me feel worse.”
