Star Ocean First Departure spoilers
Me, at Durss: Aw, that PA with Millie and Roddick helping the girl build the snowmen was adorable.
Me, several hours of playtime later:
(The even more fucked up part is that the snowmen you build during that PA, you can make several, are still there just to remind you right before it happens).

Closed starter for @sugarpixie
"Sugarsweet, I appreciate the attention and all," Salvatore drawled, struggling to keep a smile off his face, "but this is a bit excessive, don'tcha think?" Pippin's enthusiasm was so infectious, though, that even Salvatore knew his protests were half-hearted at best. If he really wanted the pixie to stop, he could just leave.
But Salvatore didn't want Pippin to stop. This was the most anyone had done for his birthday in a long time, possibly ever, and he was enjoying it so much more than he thought he would. Even if Pippin was definitely going a little overboard, he truthfully didn't mind.
When Salvatore had told Pippin offhandedly a few weeks before about his upcoming birthday, he hadn't expected anything to come of it. Really, though, he should've known better. The memory of Pippin's bright eyes lighting up with excitement made the vampire chuckle to himself.
No, Salvatore didn't mind in the slightest. Even if he did feel a bit ridiculous.
With that thought, Salvatore adjusted the goofy crown Pippin had plopped on his head, the one proudly proclaiming him The Birthday King, and smiled up at the pixie. He certainly didn't feel like any goddamn king, but it was nice to get the attention, he supposed.
"Ahhh, what the he-heck," he said, remembering at the last second that Pippin wasn't a fan of swearing. "'S one day a year anyway. So, what else you got planned for the day?"

"Song of the Dead" - Story
Story Beats
Opens with an establishing shot of a busy park on a sunny day.
Song, a teenage ghost girl, floats unnoticed by the people in the park.
She sees someone listening to music on their phone.
Using her ghostly powers, she creates an enchanted copy of the phone.
She turns the phone copy into a CD to place into the CD player on her belt.
She listens to the music that they were listening to as she floats through the park.
She suddenly hears something that catches her attention.
She looks around to find the source of the noise.
She finds a teenage girl sitting alone on the sidewalk and playing guitar, her guitar case open beside her.
Song floats closer, interested by the melody that the girl is playing.
Song reaches out to touch the guitar to copy the melody into a CD.
Before she can touch it, the girl stops playing with a sigh, struggling to remember the rest of the melody.
Song begins clapping, but the girl can’t hear her.
Song stares at the girl, but the girl can’t see her.
The girl blows some hair out of her face, startling Song into backing up.
She begins to timidly play a different melody.
Song takes a seat in front of the girl, thinking.
She looks at the other people in the park.
She suddenly perks up as she gets an idea.
Song makes an enchanted copy of the guitar before turning it into a CD.
She flies over to a random passersby that is on their phone.
She realizes she can’t plug a CD into a phone.
She turns the CD into a pair of headphones to place on the person’s head.
The person is surprised by the sudden sound of the girl’s guitar music playing.
They look around for the source of the music.
They see the girl playing.
They approach her to clap, throwing some money into her guitar case.
The girl smiles at the person as she continues playing with more passion.
Song does a quick victory dance after seeing her plan work.
Cue montage of Song placing more enchanted headphones on other people to draw a larger crowd.
A sizable audience gathers in front of the girl as she plays.
The girl stands to take a small bow as she prepares to leave.
As the audience disperses, the girl begins putting away the money.
Song hovers beside her proudly.
Song begins humming the first melody the girl played.
The girl freezes.
She looks around suspiciously.
Song realizes that the girl can hear her voice.
She continues humming, placing her hand on the girl’s.
Cut to a flashback of a living Song and the girl.
Song gives the girl the guitar as a present.
The girl excitedly opens it, but can’t think of anything to play.
Song gets an idea for something
She begins humming the original melody.
The girl stares at Song in awe.
She replicates the melody on the guitar.
They sing and play together happily.
Cut back to present day.
The girl grips the guitar tightly.
She begins playing the melody again, this time remembering it clearly.
Song sings along, leaning on the girl’s shoulder.
The girl smiles with tears in her eyes.
The girl closes her eyes as she starts to hum along.
The two of them sit together as the sun sets.
Treatment
We open on a busy park during midday. Song, a music-loving teenage ghost girl, floats unseen amongst the park visitors. With her ghostly powers, she collects music from the living by creating enchanted CDs of music that they listen to. As she collects a new CD from a random passersby, she hears a melody that catches her interest. She looks around for the source of the melody, spotting a teenage girl playing guitar on the sidewalk. The girl seems to be struggling to remember how it goes and stops with a sigh. Song applauds the girl anyways, but the girl doesn't seem to be able to see or hear her. The girl gives up on the melody and begins to play a different tune instead, somewhat somberly. She goes unnoticed by the rest of the park visitors. Song - annoyed at the circumstances - tries to formulate a plan to lift the girl's spirits. She suddenly gets an idea: if she can't directly cheer her on, then she can get other people to do it for her.
Song uses her powers to collect the guitar music and form them into enchanted headphones, which she places on the head of a random passersby. The music piques their interest and they finally notice the girl, approaching her, cheering for her, and offering a tip. The girl's mood improves after seeing someone enjoying her music and she begins to play with more confidence and passion. Ecstatic that her idea worked, Song creates more enchanted headphones to place on more people, gathering a large crowd around the girl. As more people come to listen the girl's mood continues to improve. Soon, the sunlight begins to dwindle. The girl gives a quick bow and prepares to leave, happy about how the day turned out. As she packs her things, Song takes a seat next to the girl, proudly reveling in what she accomplished. She closes her eyes and relaxes, softly humming the first tune that the girl played. The girl suddenly freezes, looking around in shock and surprise. Song realizes that the girl can hear her singing, and continues to hum the melody. However, the girl still can't see her, and seems confused and somewhat scared of the voice she hears. With no other ideas, Song places her hand on the girl's, and she has a flashback.
A living Song gifts her a guitar - the same guitar that she plays in the present. She excitedly opens it and strums a few chords, but can't think of a song to play. As the girl tries to think of a melody, Song gets an idea and sings the main melody from the beginning while the girl listens in awe. Song finishes and nervously smiles, hoping that the girl liked it. The girl laughs before replicating the melody on the guitar, and the two duet together. Back in the present, the girl smiles as tears run down her face and she reminisces about the happy memories of their friendship. She plays the melody again on her guitar, this time remembering it clearly. Song sighs with relief, and leans onto the girl's shoulder as she continues humming along. The girl closes her eyes as she plays, content, as the sun sets.
