What’s your opinion on Julian and Kit’s relationship?!

I feel like I see a lot of people head canon or think they had a sibling like relationship but IMO I don’t think Jules really cared for Kit/didn’t mind him. Like not a hate or a dislike but just as someone who’s there

as for kit/julian relationship, i share the same thoughts as u! i don't think julian hates him or anything extreme like that, but i definitely agree that (especially in tda) he's kinda indifferent to him. tbh when u are out there raising 4 kids, u really don't stop to think about another strange kid entering the household. baby had a lot on his plate, so we gotta give him the benefit of the doubt here :')

but i think julian does like kit despite their few interactions. like during the car scene in lm when kit tells julian that ty isn't weird, he's just autistic, i think julian starts to respect him in that moment. he sees that kit won't judge his brother. and honestly, i think he probably felt more at ease when he saw kit, ty and livvy hanging out because of it. i think julian sees how happy the kiddos are with kit around (especially the twins). i bet julian's thoughts are just "he's a good kid" (<- because he's a dad).

i think their relationship is kinda different in sobh. like the scene where kit assumes that jules doesn't want to see him bc he's "on ty's side" broke me in ways u cannot imagine. atp, i think julian knows that something (whatever it may be) went on between kitty and he realises that both of them had something special together, that ty was happier with kit around. i hc that in the back of his mind he's like "we gotta help fix this, i can see that kit is suffering just as much as ty is." i think he genuinely does want kit to be happy :(

so in general, i think they respect each other. like kit wants to do good, to show julian that he isn't a threat to the blackthorns, that he can be trusted. he knows that julian is super protective so he wants julian to trust him and i think he does. honestly, i think julian acknowledges and appreciates kit efforts and sees how easily he fits into the blackthorn's everyday lives. so, they might not interact much, but i think they still truly care about each other <3

honestly though, i think twp will be the series where we see kit and julian's relationship shift more when julian realizes that his brother is in love with our little blondie. and it will be crazy <3

Tbh I have a few but a lot of them are actually opinions shared by the masses in the fandom! 😭

I love sharing unpopular opinions but sometimes I feel bad because what if I’m hating on someone’s favourite thing 😭😭

However I will share my probably more unpopular opinion which is that I didn’t like the end of secrets of blackthorn hall. Not like the last post in general, but kind of the last storyline’s. Near the end it felt like it wasn’t even about blackthorn hall!! I did not like the whole Mina being kidnapped plot line… just weird. I’m really grateful for it for the time it came out because we were able to get extra content during covid, but I kind of ended up disliking it.

Which is a shame because I do like a good majority of it, while I maybeeee disagree with how some of the things are written I do think it was really fun!!! And I’ll never forget waking up to read a new issue or whatever. I literally got tumblr for it!!!

I have to admit, I am a little confused about the Kickstarter.

So the plans if I’m correct are SOBH, three new novelas and a diary and the kickstarter is a way of funding? I have no idea how it all works but I hope people can eventually buy them even if I prefer online books.

Kickstarter is a crowdfunding platform, people put projects on it to try to get the funds to make them a reality. That is, the books Cassie mentioned on the newsletter don't exist yet, she will use the money gained through Kickstarter to fund the development and production of these books independently, since this project isn't being done with the backing of a publisher. However it isn't SOBH and 4 novelas, it's 4 whole books: one is SOBH, one an updated version of the flower book, one a book with 4 novellas, and another a book a la GOTSM with 10 short stories focused on shadowhunter couples + the journal.

The campaign itself isn't up yet, it'll only go live in November, for now it's just a holding page on the Kickstarter site where you can sign up to receive the alert for when the Kickstarter does go live, which has its perks because if you back it up in the first 48h you'll receive the first chapter of TWP as a bonus when prizes start being send out.

Since the actual campaign isn't up yet, we can't know exactly how she will set it up, and I admit I have never used Kickstarter because it's not the crowdfunding platform used in my country, but crowdfunding projects usually have many "tiers" you can choose from. So tier 1 might get you only the SOBH book, tier 2 only the novellas book, etc, some tiers might offer a bundle of 2 or more books with or without the journal, a tier will probably offer you the chance to get all the books. Of course, price increases or decreases with what tier you decide to pledge to, and you'll only receive the products from the tier you selected.

It is unclear whether any of this material will be released online/as e-books, either as prizes for the Kickstarter or later on. For now Cassie has only said the prizes will be the 4 physical book options + a journal with art from Charlie Bowater.

It is also unclear so far if any of the books will be available to be bought after the Kickstarter ends, again, because Cassie isn't doing this with the backing of her publisher, so it's unclear whether she will be able to get them printed through them afterwards or through a different press or anything. Based on how these projects go, sometimes the crowdfunding does pay for continuous printing, sometimes not. So if you do want to guarantee your copies, for now the best choice is really to back up the Kickstarter!

She sent all the info on her newsletter which I'll copy and paste below the read more not to crowd the dash too much, but the project seems very interesting and gorgeous and I can't waaaait for it to go live!

what i wanna know is what happens in between sobh and tlkof that kit and ty are on speaking terms and going on quests together by the time twp starts?? as far as i remember, they're still pretty awkward around each other in sobh. or maybe that all happens during tlkof?

well we know for sure that ty seeks out kit for help regarding livvy (and i think most of us predict that the reunion will happen at cirenworth). and of course, kit being kit, he could never turn away his love, especially at a time of need and bc ty is in grave danger himself. like despite kit being angry and hurt, he still loves and cares about ty so freaking much. and honestly bc cassie said that their scenes together in tlkof will not only be angsty, but also very comedic, i predict that they will ease into each other again. like they’ll be awkward for a while but then they will realise how much fun they have together, how they love laughing at ridiculous jokes, solving mysteries and being silly with each other; they will see how all these years apart never got rid of their undeniable chemistry. and oh how i can’t wait to see them fall in love with each other all over again! <3
