I am so beyond ready to quit this job. Wednesday cannot come fast enough.
#to be fair it's bc school starts again in a few weeks#but idk. every day at this office feels like sandpaper on my skin. people always ask me shit i dont understand#and every case is so individual there's no set checklist to follow to troubleshoot#so most of the time I just grind my gears and get stuck#it'd busy more days than not.#and it was advertised to me as data entry only. client interactions was not what i signed up for.#it's all client interaction.#we're short staffed so nobody gets to take the back office and have a break.#when we weren't short staffed i was the new guy and only got 1 day in the back a week while everyone else got 2.#all my coworkers are conservative but talk like they're apolitical.#i thought it'd be fulfilling bc im helping people get benefits#but many are rude or impatient as any other service job. I'm constantly trying to direct people that don't want to listen#or explain the intricacies of something i barely understand.#and i don't want to lead people astray bc you have to start over if you blow a deadline.#but there's just nothing redeeming that i enjoy.#i hate customer service. i hate constantly asking questions. i like seldom few of my coworkers.#i can't be me at work.#and i don't care about the work itself anymore.#this job made me cry every day for weeks last month from sheer stress and overstimulation.#i almost cried myself sick several times.#the only reason I'm not there anymore is bc i dont fucking care anymore.#it took me 2 months to burn out. 2 months!#i was training for half of that!!#idk. everyone decided i was smart and could pick it up quickly so. even though everyone else got 4-6 weeks of shadowing#you can make do with 3 before you start doing stuff solo.#which feels unfair. i wasn't ready for it. and i resent the decision quite a bit.#plus it's been a nightmare for me in terms of external stressors and my generally deteriorating mental health. so.#all in all. i hate it here.#and i can't wait to turn in my notice so i can gtfo in 2 weeks#i am so tired. free me. let me go back to my music please

Sure there's zombies killing and eating people on the street but those people are not dying from the virus they're dying from comorbidities. For instance, that guy we saw getting eaten on the way into work today clearly died from blood loss, not infection, plus he already had a heart condition. People with preexisting conditions are just going to have to take care of themselves. Say it with me, "They're all already dead to me." See, that feels a lot better now doesn't it?
Good because you still have to go to work. No we're not paying you extra. Yes we're doubling grocery prices. No you don't qualify for disability. Or healthcare. Or a home.
Look, if you get bitten, you can stay home for one day, I guess 😒, but then you need to come in early. We're really short staffed at the moment, despite our company's profits being higher than ever. In fact we may be laying some of you off next month. You don't mind working off the clock right?
Also you look silly with that protective gear. We're gonna harass you for it, not like institutionally but just socially. Who cares if a zombie attacks you? Who cares if we invite them into the building? You don't need to defend yourself, you're just overreacting. If you get bitten just tell everyone the festering bite mark is from a different animal, that's what we all do.
And hey, don't worry so much. It's endemic, which means we don't have to keep track of how many people are dying from it anymore. Just look at those numbers! It's only killed 2,000 people in America this week! That's basically nobody! We're back to normal!
If everything starts tasting like rotting meat for the rest of your life, it's probably something else. If you experience brain fog or you forget things constantly or you're tired all the time after even minor physical activity, it's just because you're lazy. Yes every other virus you ever get will also be increasingly worse but that's just a coincidence. Those viruses just happen to be exponentially worse now.
Plus, those few weeks during the lockdown were terrible for my mental health. I just can't keep living like that, so we have to go back to normal life, which now involves people biting each other and twitching uncontrollably and rotting visibly.
You can't expect the world to wait for you. "Already dead to me," remember?

Timeline of Suspicious Events Brain Dump - PART 2
Ran out of characters. See previous post here! [linky]
We resume during Muriel's initial visit to the bookstore. They're having a nice look at a cupperty.
Crowley arrives in a bluster with all his plants - we've only seen him angrily say No about the Bentley and yet he seems to be going along with it anyway. He asks the important question: why not take the train? Why go by car? It's an eight hour drive each way! Train or even plane is WAY FASTER!
Crowley's the one that does the 'humans are weird/a few days' line for some bloody reason. Crowley what are you doin' man lol pick a better lie!
It feels Important that we see so many one on one moments with Nina, but not Maggie. Like we're building Nina as a character, but not really Maggie, y'know?
The show also really wants us to see how uncomfortable Nina is with discussing her love life at all, but everyone in the story just kind of blows past it.
"Dance Macabre" in the Bentley eh? A tone poem about Death calling the dead from their graves to dance for him? Like, I dunno, Gabriel says later in his Tempest line? A piece that quotes Dies Irae?
I love the musical conflict going on in the background once Crowley takes control of the Bentley's Vibes back lol.
Interesting that we have an entire moment to see that Beez is unhappy with the status quo in Hell, and the lack of recognition for all the work they seem to constantly have to do down there. Especially since we hear later they're very 'short staffed'.
Crowley moving seemingly random books from upstairs to downstairs, cosplaying a bookseller (ostensibly). Seems very chill about chatting gravity with Jimbriel, and we get our first Direct Fly Callout. Might be the second, not sure re: 'flyswats' when the archangels visited.
Pub imagery: Jesus raising Lazarus on one side, and the 'butcher' Dalrymple on the other side. Hmmm two sides of Heaven anyone?
It has to involve Aziraphale somehow because the Production Designer had that painting of Jesus done with the tomb opening being exactly like the 'eastern gate' of Eden in s01. Seems like a big effort to go to if not to draw parallels!
I find it interesting that Aziraphale a) seems super excited to hear about the 'Masons' b) there's a lodge next door to the pub, but c) we don't investigate that OR the person Gabriel was with. Y'know, the little shaggy haired demon with a bowler hat covered in flies? Normally would be quite conspicuous, yes? We know that Azi knows what Beez looks like from the end of S01.
Post-minisode we cut DIRECTLY to Aziraphale at the graveyard. What did he do between the pub and then? Did he walk there, drive there? Another huge gap to account for that's just swept under the rug.
Convenient that No Regerts and Friend are there, both being comically intense tough guys openly talking about Grindr lol. Just hanging out in the fog with no phone minutes left like ya do. Very convenient they were there, though I'm not sure what the advantage of that phone call even was. It's so strange a scene across the board that it feels like something is missing.
Back in town, Maggie is chasing Nina to talk about getting stuck in the cafe. I don't know what it is about their talks but to me they feel strange, or at least Maggie's side does. Might just be a by-product of us not seeing Nina 'acting like it's Maggie's fault' but it all feels very out of the blue, y'know? Always when Nina's busy working and can't really escape.
"I'm not your type." "You have no idea." Maggie SHE HAS A PARTNER AND SHE JUST SAID THE PARTNER SUSPECTS CHEATING, NOW IS NOT THE TIME LOL. See what I mean about Weird Vibes though?
Sudden Tempest Prediction from Gabriel. Very weird that he has these moments, either by forcing himself or these triggers. Do you have to be Empty to channel God?
Multitude of Shax Visions - this sequence seems odd to me. We've seen Shax impersonate a human once, yes, but this back to back thing seems unusually competent for her. I do wonder if we're getting a Crowley's Very Stressed Perspective thing going on here. Poor lad sure is stressed.
I was wondering how Shax figured out where Aziraphale was, but I bet she probably just tried to teleport to the Bentley like most demons seem to when Crowley was in it, but probably got punted outside by the Invitation Only magic. Or something.
The interaction with Shax here is really weird, though. It seems purely designed to freak Aziraphale out rather than actually get information. She says now she knows Gabriel is in the bookshop, but nothing about the discussion actually pointed to it any more than she would have known beforehand.
Shax then goes on to tell Beez that Gabriel is in the bookshop. Why she's so confident, I still don't really know, like I said above. All she knows is both the Husbands are being obfuscating dorks, but maybe that's enough.
Also like, Beez, you maybe should have just. Gone to the bookshop? Instead of attacking it? When you know Hell is short staffed? This is a Weird Plot Point too, if Beez just wants Gabriel. Why go straight to war?
As they're bringing Crowley's plants back to the car I hear glass shattering??? What's up with that??
Azi you dingle why are you hiding the Shax visit from Crowley. They really DON'T talk and for no good reason.
Next Instalment: [Linky]

I was wondering that if Gream reapers need sleeping, eating, so they are pretty much like humans,I was wondering if they need physical needs too? Like having intercours and etc
Reaper needs and wants
They canonically need food and sleep (or so they have been told), but other things might be more like wants/desires that remain in the afterlife. And the reaper organization might actually rely on this to keep their ranks filled.
Because I have this theory that suicides' souls are collected and sent off for judgment before they can start serving out any punishment. The reapers themselves say they aren't judging souls, just determining which ones to collect. And Undertaker says the bodies (with their brains and cinematic records) stay in the human realm. This means that reapers probably wouldn't actually reuse their human bodies, which might be completely destroyed anyway (depends on what method they used).
If that's true, then their bodies are left behind -- I expect the reapers who collect their souls actually make comments on their files -- and their souls are sent off for judgement, where they are then sentenced to punishment as reapers. I theorize that those souls are then "reborn" into reaper bodies. These could be fully developed bodies, but I suspect it's actually babies. And I further suspect that means the females give birth to new reapers as part of their punishment. Which would make it even more odd that Grelle ever wished to bear children. Human children, when Grelle was human... or reaper babies, now that Grelle is a reaper? Much more gruesome, to me, if Grelle actually wants to bear reaper babies....
Anyway, if the theory is right that they are reborn into baby reaper bodies, then yeah. That would mean reproduction is a necessity, of sorts. If they didn't reproduce with each other, there wouldn't be enough babies to house the souls of the suicides who are punished in the future. And when the reapers talk about being short-staffed, it might be that there isn't enough reproduction to keep their ranks full. Or not enough to deal with the constantly increasing human population they need to reap from.
We see Ronald flirting with Mey-Rin, as well as a young woman on the ship. He's also mentioned a few times about group dates and other dating opportunities with ladies from other departments in the reaper organization. I figure that reapers getting together with humans is against the rules. But Ronald doesn't seem to care.
Undertaker might have made the conscious decision to reproduce outside the reaper realm, as a means to protest or to decrease their numbers or to make humans gain traits that only reapers are supposed to have.
And then there are other things that the organization probably just allows, like eating as much as they want, smoking, drinking alcohol, possibly even doing drugs -- partying hard -- as long as they get the work done.
Anyway, I'd suggest reading posts in my blog with #reaper rebirth or #reaper rebirth theory.

4. God of Music by Seventeen
5. Deep Down by Tomorrow x Together(I fully believe this song is TopMew’s song)
Currently reading: I really wish I still read books I just don’t have the attention span honestly.
Currently watching: I am on episode 4 of my Triage rewatch still enjoying it just as much as the first time. Highly recommend that show 😍 I am also watching Kiseki Dear to Me(Bai Zongyi is the cutest character to ever exist), My Dear Gangster Oppa(cold persona and sunshine is one of my fav tropes), Boys Like Boys(Taiwan’s reality dating show and it just got 🤔), Kimi No Wa Todokanai(subs are terrrrible but the story is so cute) and You Are Mine(started off so funny then just 👎🏻) I also am on episode 10 of Boys Planet. I need to finish that 😂
Current favorite character: My favorite character right now would have to be Mew from Only Friends. I really identified with him. I don’t know why. I also have a soft spot for Book Kasidet sooo 😂

Had this long post typed out explaining why I was so pissy yesterday but the tldr is that we were very short staffed, and so NewLady was told to do grocery. She says she won't do it if no one else is gonna help her (meaning me. She didnt want me to be able to stay in the clothing dept if SHE couldn't.) She was told it was 6 pallets. Still fusses. I get told to help.
I then did 3 pallets (one I just put back in the steel, one was 3 items (and only 1 was for that area, got to offload the other 2 to health and beauty), and one was baby wipes. Heavy but doable.)
It took me 20 min. It took NewLady like 90min-2 hours to finish her 3 pallets. I could tell she was SEETHING lmaooo like bitch I said I would HELP you do them, I did half. Go fuck yourself 🤗
Oh and I was in the middle of a major move, very visibly, and oh yeah I ONLY WORK 4 HOURS. Like bitch first of all, no one likes you here so stop giving us more reasons. Second of all, your job is not soley clothing. And finally, they know you're gonna be there 8 hours, that I'm there 4, it makes more sense to ask you.
I was just WAITING for her to say something bc I was gonna unleash hell on her. Like bitch when I get mad, I get MEAN. I was kinda hoping she'd give me a reason to be a bitch lmaoo I was READY
I'm gonna put it under a cut, but I spent the rest of my shift thinking of things to say just in case (like I said I get MEAN)
"So are you like this because no one here likes you, or is the reason no one here likes you your nasty attitude?"
"So are you like this in your home life too, or are we just the lucky ones who get to see you like this?"
"See, THIS is why nobody here likes you. NOBODY." (Seriously everyone fucking hates her)
"I know being an unlovable asshole is hard, but you don't need to make it OUR problem."
This one would HURT her I'm sure lmao: "y'know for allegedly having had been a manager at target, you REALLY have absolutely 0 people skills."
(And the continuation I would have to be absolutely extremely beyond livid to add: "it's really amazing that you lasted long enough there to retire. I mean seriously, with no people skills, you bitch at and make enemies of every fucking person you work with, and you can't handle being told what to do. Guess they let anyone become a manager at that target huh?" )
"You are the one person here who doesn't actually need to be, you were retired for God's sake! Just LEAVE already! Just quit!"
"I don't know what the fuck your problems are outside of work, nor do I care, but stop making them MY problem. Stop ruining my fucking day EVERYDAY!"
"You're either a special kind of stupid or the most arrogant dumbass in the world to constantly shit where you eat." (She starts shit with whoever the hell she works with and was moved from front end to clothing bc she pissed EVERYONE there off)
Feel free to add your own insults :)

My local ambulance trust has opened applications for EMTs and I'm applying
Nursing's been so bad lately
Not only with my colleagues being casually transphobic but also because we're so short-staffed that every shift I finished I just feel guilty because I couldn't give the care I want to my pts. The management says we're target-staffed and don't want to do anything, we have 8-10 new admissions every day on a unit with 40 beds and the NIC can barely keep up, the agency staff they bring in to fill up team vacancies while no one applies to permanent job posts (because our unit is heavy and high-dependency and no one wants to work there) is rude and mean at best, incompetent at worst. They don't do much aside from meds, obs and notes, and even that I can see is sometimes not done properly. When you try to help them, they ignore you or go off on you like you don't know what you're saying, when you don't, they either get angry or don't care for the pts properly.
I haven't had a day at work I didn't have to make a datix in months, and every time I feel like I'm snitching on someone even if I know bad and inadequate care needs to be reported for safety. We had a pt with a short-term catheter in for two months because I kept on saying to check the notes for the insertion date because it sounds fishy and no one did. Had a pt transported to respiratory CU because obs were ignored and not repeated, the doctor not notified. End of life pts lying without moving for hours because people keep saying I don't have time, they're going to die anyway. What the fuck?
Every time I go work outside my unit, I feel like I have a holiday, even if I book a shift in ICU or ED, and they're supposed to be the hellholes of our hospital. I wish I could switch to ED but they aren't hiring permanents atm and I need to work full-time.
We had some new junior doctors coming in who are brilliant which at least helped me not feel like the consultants are not listening to me (had so many errors from them lately, too, and it's hard to interact with them when they question everything you tell them like you don't know what you're talking about) but I know they're going to be temporary. My favorite band 6s are retiring. My anxiety tells me my band 7s don't like me (not true, probably, but lately I'm just tired and have a lot of conversations where I just feel like they think I'm just complaining/venting...). So many people are leaving the unit and many of them were basically the ones that held the place together with their positive attitudes.
The advice I got from my colleagues was to take holidays and relax and you know what? I took some and my grandma had a stroke so yeah, I was so relaxed. I'm running on fumes.
To add insult to injury, my local Tesco is offering more pay for night-shift workers than I get for day shifts atm.
If I work ambulance, at least I won't feel like I'm constantly disappointing my pts, like I could've done more. Just one pt at the time (mostly) and partners that are permanent team members or bank and no one from an agency that won't care ever again. Sure, my pay will go down for a little bit, but it's so worth not feeling guilty every day.
I love nursing but it's just mentally exhausting for someone who actually cares. I'm tired of hearing agency nurses say they just nursing so they could get an easy UK visa or nurses who say they got into nursing because they didn't get into medicine. I just want to work in an environment where I know people from my team have my back and work with the same mentality about our goals.
If I could've, I'd have switched to fire service but I'm still waiting for my eye surgery and can't apply for at least a year. I just need out of where I'm working atm fast or I'm going to go crazy.
#sorry this is personal rant because I don't want to talk to anybody irl about this#my bf knows its bad but I just don't want him to go on the whole 'quit move in with me and then we'll figure stuff out' wagon again#i really don't feel like we should be moving in together yet#me posts#delete later

You used to be an actor? Why did you give up? Do you have a favorite part you've played?
Yeah! I was an actor for 5 years
I was forced to stop because of college. With classes I just wouldn't have time for rehearsals so I had to let it go. But I really want to go back when I'm finished with my studies. You have no fucking idea how much I miss the stage and performing
My favorite role?
That's hard to choose
In most plays I participated I was casted as the lead so that was always exciting
But if I had to choose one, I would choose my first play
At first I was casted as the male lead (we didn't have enough guys on cast and, well, I wanted that role tbh), but then some guys joined the company and they gave the male lead to another guy and they pushed me to be the female lead
I was playing a teenage girl that was in love with the male lead and was discovering her own sexuality and herself in general. Long story short, she gets rapped in a barn by the male lead (yes, I had to lay on the floor with my legs open while a man was on top of me, grinding on me while he was moaning and I was screaming of supposed pain and for help). After that scene I think I had the longest monologue of my career. It was a page and a half of the script and I had to say it while crying
Bla bla bla my character ended up getting pregnant and her mother (who's actress would become my first girlfriend an year later) forced her to have a home birth. My character dies giving birth and I spent the rest of the play on the floor without moving a muscle (around 15 minutes). Being still for that long is very difficult, let me tell you
But, boy, do I have very found memories of the rehearsals and the cast of that play in general. If I could go back in time, I would go back there just to live it all again. I am so so happy on stage
After that I participated in 6 more plays. 5 of them I was the lead. 3 of them I played a guy (a teacher, a refugee and Romeo), the other two I played a woman (a matches seller and a detective). I had lots of fun with all of those (especially the male ones. Trying to conceal my chest and my long hair was an absolute nightmare every single time), but my first play really marked me
Fun fact, I had a massive crush on the guy that played my romantic interest at the time (ironically enough he came out as gay 2 years after I did), but the girl that played my mother was always trying to keep us apart. Eventually I started falling for her and, my man, you can't imagine the religious crisis I went through
I had been teached homosexuality was a sin and disgusting ever since I was like 6 and now I was tits over in love with one of the female cast members?
It was fun while it lasted. We would sneak into the dressing room to make out constantly or if we arrived before anyone else we would just straight up fuck there. She was so jealous of the main lead, it was actually cute
Too bad that bitch cheated on me and gave me numerous traumas but, looking back, her dick game was strong. That does not forgive all the shit she did to me but eh. It's an upside, is it not?
I went to my Instagram to look for some pics of the performances or the backstage, but apparently my mother was the one with all the performances pics and all my backstage pics have my friends faces and I don't really want to put them on here without consent, ya know. Best I can do is this picture of a rehearsal back in 2018 with their faces censured by my bitmoji 👏🏻
I am also there, but which one am I? Who knows.
In my last play I ended up playing 4 characters because we were short staffed and apparently I was the one that could switch roles faster. Changing costumes in that play was a nightmare. Sometimes I only had a scene's worth of time to change from full on military outfit to a dress. I had to learn a lot of tricks to make all that work. I literally spent most of the play with a dress under a set of leggings and another set of jeans, a black t-shirt, a white button up shirt and a jeans jacket. Coming up with a strategy to switch clothes fast was...honestly? Extremely fun. Stressful as fuck, but fun nonetheless
Also, this was our mascot. She was the baby I had in my first play and she kinda just stuck around through the rest of the years. Pretty sure they still have her
Anyway, I'm sorry for the rant. I spoke more than you requested but I get excited when people ask about my acting career and...well, I got carried away. Sorry about that
Here, have a David

Seven Bridges - Love and Peace?: Chapter 5
Location: Yumenosaki Garden Terrace Characters: Adonis, Arashi & Mika
Arashi: Heey, Mika-chan? Anzu-chaan?
You two must be having it nice. Seeing as you’re getting someone else to help while the two of you are having a nice ol’ chat.
Mika: Ngh, I’m not ditchin’ or anythin’. My hands are movin’!
Arashi: I know. I was just joking – I’m kinda in a bit of a mean mood.
Mika: Ngh~ Sorry. I’m not good at talkin’ and I can’t tell whether you’re bein’ serious or not~
Adonis: I feel the same way.
Mika: Ngh? Wait, huh…?
Adonis: I’m Adonis Otogari from “UNDEAD”.
Mika: Well, I do know who you are but why’re you here, Otogari-kun?
Adonis: I was in the middle of track and field club activities, but while I was on a run, Narukami saw me and said, “Come help if you’ve got nothing better to do.” and dragged me over.
I’m not exactly free but our physical strength is more or less the same. I came to the decision that it would be less tiring for us both if I followed obediently.
Mika: I see… I’m sorry Naru-chan did that.
Arashi: Hey, Adonis-chan! Don’t phrase it in a way that makes it sound like I’m some muscle head!
Adonis: I simply said the truth. But if my words hurt you, I apologise.
Arashi: As you should! The truth can hurt people, you know? Be careful next time!
Adonis: I will. You’re always teaching me many new things, Narukami.
Mika: Ahaha… I don’t really get it, but we were short-staffed so if you’re here to help, then I’d really appreciate it.
Arashi: Yeah. Mika-chan and Anzu-chan were saying how they were going to clean the entire school by themselves.
There’s no way that’s possible. We’ve got to help them.
Adonis: You’re right. The good you do for others is good you do yourself.
Mika: Right. What we’re doin’ right now is a pretty common “school job”.
But startin’ this year, the reward is now paid in “L$”. Other than that, it’s basically the same.
It’s a school cleanin’ job that’s posted every so often. It’s kinda like what a caretaker does – pickin’ up the rubbish, waterin’ the plants, sortin’ the P.E. equipment and stuff.
Adonis: I’ve always wondered, why let students who don’t know how to do those things properly do it instead of employing an actual caretaker? If they did, it would be faster and the quality of work would also be better.
Mika: That’s true but there are kids who can’t afford their idol activities, so it’s a valuable source of money for them.
Adonis: ? “Valkyrie” has a lot of funds, don’t they?
Mika: “UNDEAD” and “Knights” have a lot too, right? It’s “Valkyrie’s” life mission to be constantly creatin’ the best performance, so we can never have enough money.
That’s why I do the school jobs whenever I have time. I don’t wanna go back to how things were last year – times were hard when we didn’t have the money to perform.
And it’s relaxin’ doin’ the things I’m used to…♪
Still, maybe it’s a bad side effect of the “L$” system, but they’re makin’ it so that you can’t earn “L$” outside of idol work.
It’s not really an advantage in terms of fundin’, though.
Adonis: Yeah. I checked the details behind the “school jobs” out of curiosity one time, but it’s not exactly a fitting reward for the work.
Arashi: But even so, if you were to do a normal part-time job and then convert those earnings to “L$”, the exchange rate would be pretty low.
They’re really making “L$” to be something you can only earn through idol activities.
Mika: Yeah. That’s why all the other Yumenosaki students have pretty much stopped doin’ “school jobs”.
It’ll just turn out to be a waste of time and labour.
They’re all probably thinkin’ if they’re gonna be earnin’ money, they’d probably wanna earn it doin’ idol work.
Arashi: I do understand that though. Up until last year, the entire industry was in a recession and there were barely any jobs for idols…
I think it’s a system put in place for idols to live and make money. They’re part of the employee benefits from the initiative the Student Council started.
But ES was created and work for idols has increased exponentially. That system might be something useless that’s left to die out.
They just haven’t gotten around to it at the moment, so maybe it’ll be discontinued next year.
And maybe ES will use the money they got from that to hire a professional caretaker to do the cleaning and stuff.
Those days, when it was the idols who did the cleaning with a broom and dustpan, might end up being something of the past.
Mika: Yeah… This is where we live so obviously we’d want to keep it nice and clean.
And I got to be good friends with Anzu-chan ‘cause we were both doin’ “school jobs”.
But this “large wave” ignores those personal sentiments and washes it all away, changin’ things in the process.
That’s the sort of “era” we’re livin’ in, right?
Adonis: That’s a very deep comment. I’m touched.
Arashi: Wow, you’re so cool, Mika-chan! It was like a scene straight out of a movie ♪
Mika: Nghahhh, don’t make fun of me! It’s embarrassin’!
“Valkyrie” has been makin’ a lotta story-based performances lately, so sometimes I find myself sayin’ those sorta lines…!
Arashi: You don’t need to be embarrassed ♪ If anything, people want us idols to say those “sorts of lines” that can move people emotionally, right?

if you wanna hear about a truly fucked up work place, do look under the cut
if not, carry on :3
background: i work as an ambulance crewmember for a sort of non-government organisation that isn’t non-profit. this means me n my colleagues may be the kind of people who show up when you’re like, dying or whatever
however, my company is absolutely SHIT and yes i will be handing in my notice soon
in no particular order, here goes:
plenty of people at other similar companies got extra money for working during covid. we didn’t, because we “can’t expect special treatment every time something extraordinary happens”
we should, however, constantly wear our ffp2 masks, even when not with a patient / at a hospital (so even when we’re sitting around at the station with nothing to do). this is in fact illegal according to work law bc you have to have frequent enough breaks. our bosses therefore explained that ActuallyTM, when we’re driving to a call or back from a hospital, we’re not actually working and thus the law doesn’t apply
but fear not! this does not apply to our bosses, who can sit in their joint office and NOT wear a mask at all, because of... secret reasons. and they also don’t have to wear the mask in the building. for secret reasons again
recently, the covid guidelines changed countrywide. my company has decided that they can now order a covid positive person to come to work DESPITE currently being infected in case the personnel situation requires it (spoiler: we are always short staffed so the situation always requires it). this worker is then ASKED to wear a mask. not even required to. ASKED
luckily enough, our station is so big that one can easily avoid an infected coworker... or not! the one common room we have (also the only room with chairs) can only very barely fit everyone who works during weekdays. so assuming every ambulance is in we have less than 30 square meters
... unless you also count the bathroom! it’s very smelly and really kinda gross and there’s a hole in the wall leading to the garage
the heating doesn’t really work either. this is because the heating is shit and also bc the one door leading to the outside doesn’t close properly
this broken door leads to a small outdoorsy corridor which has adjoined to it two shipping containers. those are our changing rooms. every person gets a locker for their private stuff! this locker is slightly bigger than your average microwave. the changing rooms are also freezing. unless someone put the heating on, in which case they’re above 30 degrees celsius
we also have a kitchen. this kitchen contains a fridge about the size of a minifridge at a relatively posh hotel. if everyone brings a tupperware box full of lunch then about half the lunches will have to sit outside the fridge
the luxury coffee machine we’d crowdfunded among us for broke. the bosses took five months to get on to buying a new one. just because
(well. i ASSUME they’ve actually bought it and it will be installed. that’s what the bosses SAY. but i have reason to doubt their work)
we have wifi! about 6 mb/s...
last year we got smoke detectors installed. there were none before that.
the table is perpetually sticky. we do not know why. the chairs are perpetually really grossly discoloured. we do not ask why. the sofa is lumpy. we have accepted this.
there are, depending on the season, rats, mice, roaches, spiders, ants that are just. living there also.
the garage is unheated. meaning when we get to the weekly disinfecting routine that's required for each ambulance, we work with potentially freezing water. this is against work law, but our boss said the garage isn’t our workplace so it doesn’t matter if it’s cold there. the fact that we have to clean the ambulances in the garage, with the doors open due to the fumes from our disinfectant stuff... yeah....
but enough about how shit the building is! more about the people i work with!
there’s kevin, a perpetually sick chronic liar who presumably has münchhausen’s. he’s off sick more than half his working days. also he’s on opiates! he also comes to work while high off marijuana. he has also come to work while off sick and ordered people around
there was that one colleague who threatened to kill another colleague bc she’d been messaged by the first colleague’s boyfriend
same colleague worked while drunk once. there were three people who independently of each other smelled the booze on her breath. boss said he wouldn’t do anything bc we couldn’t prove it
the aforementioned boyfriend was fired after he physically attacked another colleague
one lady was only placed on probation after she’d: not resuscitated a patient who needed it, resuscitated (and thus injured) a patient who did NOT need it (and she did it incorrectly as well), threatened another colleague with violence, ignored the directives preventing the spread of infectious diseases and stole an ambulance
we have on several occasions hired people who didn’t have a driving license. you know, for the “drive ambulance” job
there was a guy who very frequently misused lights and sirens, destroyed important documents and destroyed patients’ health insurance cards after he forgot to give them back to them. he was never fired, just handed in his notice eventually
we have one guy who worked full time until the middle of last year (now only takes on shifts part time) bc he is in his mid 60s. he told the bosses hey, i’m old, i won’t do night shifts. they said okay cool we won’t plan you for any night shifts! but they lied
one girl likes to yell at dementia patients when they don’t immediately do what she wants (bc they can’t. understand. bc they have fucking dementia!!!!) (as in, patients with severe dementia)
there are a handful of people who sometimes just. don’t show up. or are perpetually late. there are no repercussions.
and the crowning achievement: our current vice station boss
company branch boss just decided that this guy would be a good fit. this guy is
racist: likes to be like “oh that name on the pager sounds mediterranean / arabic / smth like that. those people only pretend they have medical problems, let’s get some food before going there”
a sexual predator: approximately every young blonde girl who starts with us ends up reporting some kind of harrassment by him, including being pressed to take his number but also inappropriate touches. he has been reprimanded for this (gently) and we are not allowed to talk about it anymore. he continues his behaviour bc why not!
negligent at his actual job: likes to not check his ambulance at the beginning of the shift or not monitor patients properly
and really shit at his vice station boss duties! doesn’t do the shit that actually needs doing and rather thinks up new fancy ways he can tell all of us how to do our job while not making sure our storage is stocked up on all the things we need and while not getting any of the important paperwork done or not arranging any repairs for whatever shit is broken now etc
and now to company benefits!
if you jump through approximately eight billion hoops, you might get extra financing for your gym membership. this might also just cut out at some point
better check your salary thoroughly! people have gotten as little as zero monies despite working a full month bc of a widdle oopsie whoopsie somewhere!
get pressured to take on extra shifts!
but we do have a fruit bowl!
there’s more. there’s so goddamn much more. but if you speak up the boss will ensure you don’t do so again
i don’t even know when i’m leaving but by god i cannot wait
#it's soooooooo much fun!#can't wait to hand in my notice!#oh also upon one of the girls who was sexually harrassed asking our boss to please let her not have shifts with the harrasser#which. you know. is a reasonable request#the boss was like :) unfortunately i can't do anything about that. you gotta take care of it yourself :)#but hey at least we get a christian christmas card each year with some shit about how you ought to be grateful for... jesus or something#idk i toss them out as soon as i get them

I can add to this
Currently down with a pulmonary embolism. For those of you who don’t know the meaning of the term, I have a blood clot. In my lung. The first doc I saw for this (four weeks ago as of this post) dismissed the pain it was causing as a ‘pinched nerve or muscle’ in my back. I couldn’t walk. Mind, this was a diagnosis from an on-call paramedic in the local ER (small, rural town + short-staffed hospitals + mostly volunteer staff = EMTs that don’t see much action beyond the occasional OD or broken leg) and he didn’t have the required machines to diagnose the problem. Gave me some opioids (man tramadol is good painkillers) and sent me home.
A week later I started coughing up blood.
I booked an appointment with my GP because ‘it’s only a little bit of blood’ (it was not) and the GP said it was ‘probably just a lung infection (code for they don’t know what it is and want me out of their office) but I should go get some X-rays just in case’.
X-rays turn up odd shadows on my lungs. GP gets me a referral for a CT Scan.
So a week later, we drive the three hours necessary to get the CT Scan done, and the doc says that since I’ve come so far, they’ll just check the scans quickly so that I don’t have to get halfway home and then get called back if the scan isn’t clear.
An hour later, the doc is telling me I need to admit myself to the ER immediately for observation. I have a large blood clot and fluid in my lungs, along with a large mass of what appears to be dead/scar tissue. Four hours after that I’m told that I’ll be fine, but they want to keep me overnight for observation and they’re going to check me for clotting disorders because it’s unusual for someone as young as me to develop a blood clot.
Long story short I spent three weeks in intense pain because of a misdiagnosis, and then a doc got exasperated with me constantly bugging them, told me to get an X-ray, and promptly went ‘oh fuck’.
Doctor: What do you see in this X-ray?
Students: *collective gasp*
Doctor: Please don’t do that in front of patients.
#x rays#radiology#Tw medical#so yeah#blood clots. not fun.#I’m fine though and I’m not dying.#I’m on blood thinners tho

IT contract staffing services help businesses grow by providing flexible, specialized talent when and when it is needed. Here’s how IT contract staffing services drive business transformation:
1. Access to specialized expertise
Niche Expertise on Demand: IT contract employment enables firms to access a pool of specialist professionals that are knowledgeable about the most recent technologies and techniques. This ensures access to skills that may be unavailable or prohibitively costly to keep in-house.

Strategies for Leveraging Contract IT Staffing Services
To maximise the benefits of contract IT staffing services, businesses should adopt strategic approaches tailored to their specific needs and objectives. Here are some key strategies for successful implementation:
1. Identify Skill Gaps and Project Requirements
But first, a business must undergo a thorough evaluation process involving its scope of work and technical expertise needs. Ensuring continuing face-to-face teaching is likely to require a combination of recruiting new personnel and utilizing those already part of the school system.
2. Partner with Reputable IT Staffing Companies
Choosing the right IT staffing partner is critical for success. Businesses should research and select reputable IT staffing companies with a proven track record of delivering high-quality talent and excellent service. Aligning with reputable IT staffing companies offers a high probability of receiving the best possible candidates. It provides an opportunity for better results in recruiting the right candidate for a specific position.
3. Establish Clear Communication and Expectations
Communication is indeed an indispensable link and part of the all-encompassing engagement process. Firms must communicate their business expectations, deadlines, and deliverables to the IT staffing company or hired professionals. Constant updates and FB reviews enable us to adjust to each other effectively and quickly address any misalignment.
4. Provide Onboarding and Training Support
On one hand, specialized contract IT workers will bring a unique set of skills and knowledge to the table. However, they might need additional onboarding and training to get acquainted with the company’s processes and systems. Organizations must commit to developing an extensive and permanent integrating process and offer further assistance once the new staffers are deployed.
5. Evaluate Performance and Feedback
Continued monitoring and feedback should be at the core of the service to ensure maximum effect from contract IT staffing. Companies need regular assessments of the performance of hired professionals, comparing it with predefined KPIs and feedback taken from their internal stakeholders. Such feedback between businesses and clients aids them in alternating the plan at the required time and completing the project goals in an organized manner.
Conclusion
In conclusion, contract IT staffing services play a vital role in driving business transformation in today's digital age. By providing access to specialized talent on a flexible basis, IT staffing companies empower businesses to meet evolving IT demands, accelerate project timelines, and achieve strategic objectives. However, successful implementation requires careful planning, clear communication, and strategic partnerships with reputable IT staffing firms. By leveraging contract IT staffing services effectively, businesses can navigate the complexities of the IT landscape with confidence and drive sustainable growth and innovation.
