✨ 🗺️!!
✨ Which skill has the best design, in your opinion?
Oh, this one is hard so rabbit will categorize by their speciality, so we have more winners!-
INTELLECT: Conceptualization
PSYCHE: Inland Empire, Empathy
PHYSIQUE: Pain Threshold
MOTORICS: Perception, Savoire-Faire
🗺️ What's your favorite place in Martinaise?
Rabbit would say the rails on the front side of the Whirling-in-Rags building. Sometimes Rabbit notice the the sli humans be hanging out there in night, said nice place to see the city. Some white puffs too.
Rabbit used to be by seaside, but tuning in to miss Revacholier- wasn't so bad. It's..weirdly comforting, like lighthouse of the seas. Bweet.

What is your opinion on the mystical magenta goat man? (Draxum)
Good dad? Deserved more screentime/emotional moments with the bois? (they gave us like 2 moments like that in the finale, and I'm sad that it's all we got)
owo
Ooh, I have so many thoughts about Draxum. Buckle up.
First of all, it's worst mentioning that when I started watching Rise, I knew ahead of time that he would get a redemption arc. (Reading the wiki and watching clips/analysis videos is what got me interested in the show, after all.) So admittedly, my view of how his redemption arc went was a little skewed just because I knew from the start that it would happen.
Personally, I wish more of it had been actually shown in the show. We get about ten seconds of him helpless in an alley then a hard cut to him in his apartment being bullied by Mikey, and I would love to see how that series of events played out. Also, his arc from mortal enemy to somewhat trusted by the turtles happened in one eleven minute episode, and I would have loved to see that tension be played with a little more. I do understand that the show was cut short, though, and I'm pretty happy with what we did get.
*looks at all my fics* honestly, I think part of the reason that they're all more or less about Draxum spending time with the turtles one way or another is because that dynamic was so underdeveloped and several things went unaddressed in order to give the show a decently cohesive finale.
For example, the roof incident. Leo is clearly very bitter about it and clearly mistrusts Draxum because of it, but the show just didn't have the opportunity to address it. Another issue that had to go unresolved was Draxum's relationship to Cassandra, because she seriously looked up to/trusted him in their episode together but he more or less threw her under the bus.
Not to mention all the little things that canon hints at but doesn't show. Like, somehow Donnie has Draxum's phone number, meaning they had at least one conversation off screen. How did that happen? Do they hang out or something? And really, the whole story of how Mikey got Draxum to move into an apartment and let him come over is so unexplored, at least within the show.
And speaking of things that canon doesn't show, I find Draxum's position among yokai to be absolutely fascinating, especially given that the only yokai he deals with in the show itself are antagonists to him (Big Mama, the Council of Heads, the cops) aside from the gargoyles.
There's a pretty big hole there about how he interacted with the rest of the Hidden CIty-- did he have friends? DId people know about his research and mutations? What did people think about him? And obviously the narrative doesn't address this because the story is about the turtles, not him. But still.
And why did he choose to create mutants in the first place? Its fascinating that the prophecy that motivates him is never actually shown in the show itself, just referenced. Why was mutating humans the best option to him? Did he try other things? When exactly did the Council tell him not to create warriors?
The timeline is pretty fuzzy, and frankly Draxum's motives aren't actually all that clear. That's probably why there's so many different interpretations of why he's doing what he's doing (and what, exactly, he's actually doing) throughout the fandom-- canon doesn't address it super deeply.
So yeah, his relationships with the turtles are really fun to think about and mess around with, but the gaps in the narrative (not a perfect phrase but the general idea) around him are fascinating to explore in their own right. And whether canon would have explored him more or not, I think its fun so I'm gonna do it lol. I have built so much lore about this man (almost none of which has showed up in my stories) because he's fun.
And he is genuinely a fun character, whether pre or post redemption. He's dramatic, he's arrogant, he makes bad quips (seriously, he has a line about "how very NOT NICE to see you" at one point, and that's how my sister used to talk before she figured out how to actually be sarcastic). He, the big bad of season one, ends up as a lunch lady at one point, which is frankly absurd and absolutely in tone for the kind of show that Rise is. He's a powerhouse at times and completely out of his element at others.
And once he's no longer actively fighting the turtles most of his screen time, there's a goofiness to the nature of his character, a powerful alchemist/warrior trying to live a normal life (mostly because a thirteen year old will yell at him otherwise) and not even trying that hard. Season 2 especially does a lot of fun things with his character, and I only wish that they're been able to do more.
TLDR: Draxum is probably my favorite character, and also I want to hit him with the hammer of 'forced to deal with teenagers'.

Ninjago #1: Ninjago's Potrayal In Webseries
I've actually deliberated over this for a while. Since in the webseries, instead of people sized Lego people, all the characters would be portrayed as human (both because that's always how I've seen them in my head and maybe hopefully Lego Team would consider the change different enough where they won't try and DMCA me) and I was putting Ninjago in the real world instead of its own realm as its portrayed in canon (again, to hopefully dissuade Lego Team from wanting to sue the brakes off my ass and also just because I think it'd be interesting), I thought of just portraying Ninjago City. But well, I've always been a sucker for fantasy, especially urban fantasy. This also gives me a great excuse to learn more about Asia's mythology and how all the different regions and the countries in those regions interpret it! So yay, silver linings!
So, in the webseries, Ninjago would be its own country. I recently got into Ace Attorney (I have the Phoenix Wright trilogy on my Switch and i'm on Bridge to Turnabout) and while looking over the TVTropes page (I do that for all the media i'm into) and watching YouTube videos about Ace Attorney, learned all about the localizations and Japanifornia. So, that's what i'm basing Ninjago off of, which makes sense since, in canon, Ninjago also has western inspiration in addition to the Japanese inspiration. Which brings me to the first fun fact I learned while researching Japan (since Ninjago has a lot of japanese inspiration), I learned that Japan has free healthcare! Well, mostly free, they have to pay 30% of their medical bills themselves, but hey, considering that I live in a capitalist hell state, I'll take it! Also, according to the websites I've looked at for more information, the insurance is provided by the state.
(I now lowkey wonder what kind of insurance the ninja have. It can't be SHI because that's for everyone that's employed full-time by a large or medium company. And last time I checked, none of the ninja work for a medium or large company. Unless Cyrus Borg has them on his payroll and just lies to the government every year that he employs the ninja).
I really loved the realm merge in Dragons Rising and the fact that there were all these different.... races? Species? now in Ninjago because of it and how they had a whole place where all these different cultures could gather and hang out and sell wares and food and clothes and stuff from their home realms and they have contests and events and I just.... I really loved it. Like LOVED it. I just love when they have blended societies in media. Which brings me right back to my love of urban fantasy. I love love LOVE Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the whole mystical yokai city under New York they had in the show and how there were hidden hangout places for the yokai up in New York. So, taking elements from ROTTNMT and Dragons Rising, instead of a realm merge, Yokai have been part of Ninjago's history from the start and by modern day have completely integrated into regular society. So, there's shops run by yokai that sell all kinds of mystic stuff as well as restaurants that sell yokai cuisine. Also, dragons have also been part of Ninjago's history since the start and yes, it's pretty much like how Berk from the How To Train Your Dragon Franchise would have been if it was set in the modern day instead of viking times.
There's so much more I want to talk about: how machines and AI like Zane and P.I.X.A.L are viewed, Yokai shops and cuisine, what daily life is like in Ninjago City (Ninjago in general) with dragons flying around, passing through or even just setting up roost there, the Yokai that live in Ninjago and Ninjago City, the gangs that have sprung up over the years (since the webseries would focus on the Ninja's children), how the Serpentine are doing, ect, but this post is already quite long so I'll have to talk about these things in separate posts.
Since I think I've covered all the basics of how I would portray Ninjago in my hypothetical webseries, i'm going to end this post here and share future thoughts I have on Ninjago's portrayal in said hypothetical webseries in future posts. I hope you all enjoyed this post!

TF x Graves, 2500 words, complete and utter fluff
Stifling another yawn against the back of my hand I glance over at the window, which shows only the flat dark of a moonless night outside, before turning my eyes back to the line of T.F.’s naked back.
I’m already undressed and perched on the side of the bed, watching as T.F. is still in the middle of his nightly ritual of hanging or folding his fine clothes up all properly and neatly, lest they, I don’t know, unduly crease somewhere they ain’t meant to or somethin’. Listen, I keep my clothes in a pile on the floor by the side of the bed, right next to the shotgun, both within easy reach in the case of a middle-of-the-night emergency skipping of town. Our priorities in these matters don’t really intersect much, but to each his own and so on.
I don’t know why I’m waiting for him to come to bed to lie down myself, exactly — my eyes are already making a spirited attempt at staying shut on me whenever I blink, I’m pretty sure I’d be out and snoring in about three seconds once I got settled — but my skin has that thin restless thrum all through it that I know from experience won’t be satisfied until he’s settled into place against me and besides, the view is nothin’ to sneeze at in the meantime. He stands there shirtless, belt unbuckled and hanging loose around his narrow hips, though the fastenings of his trousers are still done up. In the light of the oil lamp across the room he’s in a rare state of relaxed unselfconscious disarray, his hair grown out long enough again that it spills over his shoulders and down his back while he fastidiously fastens the cufflinks back into place on the empty shirt so they’ll be easy to find in the morning. As he finishes up with the cufflinks he sings to himself under his breath, a good-natured jaunty little tune I vaguely remember the Brick would sometimes break out once you got a couple of drinks in him.
The hum under my skin grows higher and keener.
Stretching an arm out I hook my fingers into one of his belt loops and gently pull him in by it towards the side of the bed, until he’s standing between my legs. It prompts a half-bemused noise from him, but he goes along easily — when I wrap my arms around his waist and rest my forehead against his belly he seems to catch on, though, a sound of amusement vibrating through his chest.
He slides his hand to the back of my neck, twining his fingers into the short hair there, thumb trailing back and forth along the hairline.
T.F.’s too damned scrawny to have much in the way of padding anywhere, but there’s the warm body softness to him here nevertheless, the sweet yield and shift of a living thing whose pliancy belies the supple strength beneath. I rest my cheek against the flat of his stomach and sigh, moving my hand at the small of his back in slow caressing circles.
“Come to bed already,” I murmur, too sleep-softened along the edges to worry overmuch about makin’ sense.
He chuckles, fingers stroking through my hair. “Well, I was on my way, but then I was waylaid by some deplorable fellow in the process. Hell of a thing.”
I grin and turn my face up to him, so that my chin is resting against his belly and my lips brush his skin when I talk. “Huh. Sounds like a real shady character. You want a trustworthy sorta guy to escort you safely the rest of the way?”
“With such dangerous reprobates skulking around in the area, that’s probably for the best,” T.F. nods somberly, fond amusement deepening his voice. He runs his thumb down the bridge of my nose. “Could I afford to hire the services of a strapping upstanding gentleman like yourself, though?”
I make a nonchalant sound in my nose, squeezing him closer against me for a moment. “Eh, don’t worry ‘bout it, this one’s on the house.”
His thumb drifts down to rest at the upturned corner of my mouth as he grins back at me. “Hey, looks like it’s my lucky day.”
I kiss his stomach and lean back enough so I can start in on the fastenings of his trousers — not with any sort of heat behind it, there’s no hint of sex in the air, but in a weird way this is equally satisfying, the everyday-textured contentment of being close without any particular purpose, being the one to slowly render him naked in front of me for no other reason than that he lets me, his hands still smoothing patiently through my hair while I work.
Once I’ve got all the buttons sorted I run my thumb along the sharp edge of his hip bone until I can tuck it into the waist of his trousers and use it to tug them down. We get them about half-way down his thighs like that before we have to pause for him to shimmy out of them the rest of the way on his own, his hand resting on my shoulder for balance as he does the traditional one-legged hop to extricate his foot. Serves him right for only ever wearing pants that might as well have been painted onto him. I mean, not that I’m complainin’, mind.
“Whoa!” he says, laughing as he almost overbalances at the last hurdle, but my hand shoots out to steady him by the hip before too much disaster can be wrought. “Well, not the smoothest strip tease I’ve ever pulled off, sorry about the inconvenience.”
I nose at the newly revealed crease of his hip over the edge of his underwear. “Eh, that’s okay, if I actually wanted a proper show I’d just suggest a round of strip poker again and sit back and watch while you lose.”
“Oh, that’s a strange yet beautiful dream world you’ve made up for yourself there, Malcolm. It’s touching, really, the things the mind will do to protect itself from the truth. Positively — aah!”
T.F. jumps as I draw some of the skin of his hip between my lips and use them to nip sharply at it. His startled yelp turns into a snigger as I let go, possibly ruining the castigating effects somewhat when I brush my lips soothingly over that spot right after.
“Let that be a lesson to ya,” I say sternly.
“A lesson on what, that your mom was apparently half turtle?”
I grunt, still trailing soft kisses over his skin. “That judge in Piltover was right back then, you are an incorrigible menace to all decent and right-thinking people everywhere.”
“First of all, that might be the nicest thing you’ve ever said to me, Malcolm, thank you. Two, including yourself among the ‘decent and right-thinking’ feels like the invention of some fresh new form of fraud by way of imposture unfolding before my eyes, and it’s an honour. And third, that seems to me to be some very selective memory you have there, considering His Honour Judge Highton had some even more colourful words for you after you blew up the entire north wall of the court building breakin’ me out.”
“He might’ve been given to wearing a damn silly mop on his head, but you couldn’t fault him on his vocabulary,” I concede. Before that whole incident I’d honestly thought the wigs were some sort of practical joke the Pilties would play on gullible outsiders, but as it turns out no, if you get sent to jail in the twin cities they add the indignity of makin’ someone wearing a dead badger on their head break the bad news to you. It’s a strange ol’ world out there, alright. In Bilgewater, where people are much more sensible, the justice system basically boils down to the bounty board, or — if you’ve really managed to make a nuisance of yourself — a bunch of captains may call a temporary ceasefire with each other and go get your ass together. I’ve found that the risk of getting on the bad end of an unfair trial is about the same in both places, though of course the Bilgewater one tends to be harder to come back from if carried out to its fullest. I consider myself a bit of an expert in these things.
T.F. makes a thoughtful sound. “To be fair I don’t think anyone had ever given him cause or inspiration for profanity like you did.”
“Aw. That’s the nicest thing you’ve ever said to me.”
He leans down and kisses the top of my head before he straightens for long enough to work his second foot free as well, standing there in just the sleek silky underpants he somehow seems to have an endless fresh supply of wherever we go. (My money’s on some sinister underground ring of lingerie-oriented tailors across south-eastern Valoran, for the record; when it comes to secret societies the Noxians just can’t help themselves.)
“I do my best. Hang on just one moment, I’ll be right back,” he says and ruffles my hair before he turns around, which I would complain about except that the view is, as previously mentioned, impeccable, and I’m sleepy enough to be magnanimous.
After meticulously folding his trousers and leaving them with the rest of his clothes, T.F. moves over to the table across the room and extinguishes the oil lamp, then whistles under his breath as he produces a card from somewhere — he does this, seemingly from thin air and no matter how little he’s wearing; I prefer not to speculate too much about how, exactly — and lets a little magic into it so it gives off a low glow, only enough to light his way the short walk back across the room, ‘cause in T.F.’s world the stubbing of toes and smacking of shins against unexpected furniture in the dark is somethin’ that happens to other people. That probably says some things about him I’m not ready to go puzzlin’ out at this time of night, and that he wouldn’t want to have anyone go puzzlin’ about too hard in the first place anyway.
When I hold out my hand for him in the dark he smiles and takes it, twining our fingers together, and I use the hold to tug him in and deposit him, in a neat controlled wrestler’s roll held close against me as I lay down, to his side of the bed. He laughs again at that, a surprised delighted sound that edges dangerously close to a giggle but hey, I ain’t no snitch, so who’s gonna testify against him, huh?
The card ends up on the far side of his pillow after the tumble, still giving off a glow, enough to illuminate the bed and lend the shadows around it some warmth. It makes the bed seem a small cozy island, the rest of the world rendered a not-unfriendly ocean of darkness around it.
T.F. looks at me like the world’s most contented castaway, bourgeoning crow’s feet punctuating his smile on either side and fingers still linked with mine. His hair is mussed from the meandering fall onto the bed. If I were only fractionally less about five seconds away from fallin’ asleep, my body might start to get ideas about it. Well, tomorrow is always another day.
With the back of my free hand I brush some of his hair away from his brow, and he cranes into it like a well-pleased cat. Even with the blankets tangled around our feet and the not-quite-right positions we’ve ended up in, having tumbled into place rather than settled ourselves with purpose, everything feels warm and loose and comfortable, like I could fall asleep like this even with the decidedly odd angle my arm is at.
As if sensing that the drowsiness is about to claim me for real, T.F. brings our linked hands up to his face so he can press his lips to my scarred knuckles before he lets go, then reaches to pull the covers over us, taking a moment to tuck the blanket around my shoulder properly before snuggling under it himself, hooking his leg over my thigh as he settles into place. I shift until we fit together, the familiarity of how to rest against each other just right comfortable like an old and well-loved piece of clothing. On a sigh he rests our foreheads together, craning forward the tiny amount needed to brush our mouths together and humming contentedly when I meet him there. It’s a slow kiss, but it lingers, a dry sweet press of lips like one last spark sending the day off down into the gently drifting murk of sleep that’s about to claim me for a few hours.
When it ends — I don’t think either of us was really the first to pull back, at some point the kiss simply, in the way of snowflakes on tongues, melted into something different and less defined with the warmth — there’s a moment when my eyes can still fight against slipping shut. It’s weird, the way you can look at someone every day for years and still not feel like you’ve had your fill. T.F.’s sharp narrow face, his high pointy little cheekbones and mouth still curved with a smile as he watches me back — there’s something to knowing I’m gonna see all that again tomorrow morning that all the damn money on Runeterra couldn’t get you. And take it from me, from what I’ve seen of the world there ain’t a lot of things in this life enough money won’t buy. Stumbling across one of them long before we even knew what we had, by a stroke of little more’n dumb fucking luck… sometimes it feels like the biggest heist we ever pulled.
“Hey, Tobias?” I say, brushing the tip of my nose against his as my eyelids finally give up both the battle and the war and slide closed.
“Hmmm?” he says, cheerfully drowsy as well.
“I’ll see you tomorrow,” I murmur, because I can’t think of any damn happier thing in the world to say to him.
He wraps his arms around me, his hand stroking meanderingly up and down the scar-crossed span of my back, fingers trailing over my skin with the perfect amount of firmness because he’s taken the time to learn exactly how much pressure it takes to make it comforting. As sleep starts pulling me under to calmer depths I tuck my head under his chin, so my face is pressed to the line of his throat and to his chest. He smells so nice, all warmly real and well-known like my own breathing.
“Tomorrow,” he agrees on a yawn, nuzzling at the top of my head and tightening his arms around me, just for a moment.
I've been trying to write stuff -- literally just anything, no matter how meandering and nonsensical -- to try to break out of a writer's block; it's not really working so far but at least I've got SOMETHING tangible to show for it at the end of the day, so, you know, uh... partial success I guess?? haha
The idea of T.F. having a judge somewhere out there who considers him the One True Nemesis of his career, J. Jonah Jameson style, even though T.F. barely even remembers his name, came from a wonderful conversation with @inversway, and the idea makes me laugh so hard every time I think about it.
ETA: Also put this on AO3, so I have somewhere to put these ficlets that isn't just tumblr! I'm grimly clinging on to this blue hellsite like a obstinate barnacle to the hull of the Titanic, but I do realize it's not the best place to archive uh anything lol

Brothers anon, im gonna start combing the two separate submissions again cause its getting too short to have them separate I think?
1: His possession messed with memories Ranbob had before, so memories of school friends or playing with Ran were distant to erased. Though after Dreams possession it was also harder to make and keep memories. But thankfully as Ranbob was recovering from Dream and got futher away making memories came eaiser to him, though he'll never get back the memories he lost.
3: Oh he would very quickly grow to regret his decision, but it would be funny. And Benjamin would later admit that while it was annoying and stressful, it was also fun and he was very happy to have his two families meet and generally get along.
8: Everyone is just in shocked silence before Cletus just goes "YEAHHHHHHHHHH!" Oddly happy that Ranboo committed so much arson. Oh definitely, after all the outcasts of society where put there. Of course people would make such negative rumors about Mizu and treat the people as the scum of the earth. Though this also means, people don't know what happened in Mizu, and anyone who knows, view it in a more happy and a "Their finally gone" type of way, then viewing it as the tragedy it was.
Spoons is a card game technically. A group of people sit in a group and everyone gets 4 cards, and you keep discarding at least 1 card of yours to the person on your left, who then does the same to their person on their left, the last person in the group puts a card into a discard pile. The goal is to get 4 of the same cards, and once someone gets 4 of the same cards, that person goes and grabs a spoon in a pile in front of them (let's say there's 5 players, theres only going to be 4 spoons cause there's always a spoon less than the people playing), once they grab one anyone can grab a spoon. And the person who doesn't get a spoon gets a S added to them, once Spoons is spelled the person gets out of the game, and a spoon gets removed to continue the game. Basically for flowers its played the exact same way but with flowers in the middle expect for spoons.
11: I just imagine Dream sulking in a corner as you yell at him and him going like "well I didn't know…" as he kicks a stone. And he wasnt sure what it was, but quickly jumped on the idea that maybe it was the fact that Ran was still alive somewhere, and that that's causing Ranbob to willingly let himself become weak and defy him. Causing Dream to become angrier at Ran and punish Ranbob harder.
----
3: During the brothers fight in the storm, and after everyone runs off to find Ranbob, Ran is left alone. And he decides to just wander off into the storm, not protecting himself from the rain so he does get burnt. The whole time he's lost deep in thought and isn't really paying attention. He continues to wander for a whole day unfollowed (because after the Gladiators and Fishermen came back to the cave after finding Ranbob they are in no rush to find Ran and decide to look for him after the storm passes, which takes a full day) and at some point Raq finds him wandering. Which Raq then uses Rans distraction to his advantage and attacks him. At first only really the gladiators where concerned when they found Ran gone. But once they found him blinded and terrified everyone felt awful and a looming sense of guilt. And everyone continued to feel that way, even after they got the antidote and Ran started to see again.
4: They would just leave Ranbob alone and check in on him every now and again. But generally let him deal with it himself. They'd feel guilty leaving him alone, but they also know that they can't really do anything for him as their not prepared or briefed on how to help him in this situation.
10: Oh definitely, even with Ran blinded they would've been kicked out immediately for fighting, without even a second glance. Dont forget, Ran still cares for his brother. And maybe, losing his sight made him face the side of him that wanted to become family again with Ranbob, maybe it brought enough to light that he just can't ignore it anymore. Mostly only negative potions can be permanent, like posion, blinding, wither, and nausea (I know the last like 3/2 are effects but they've also found a way to make effects into potions.). You already know what a antidote for blindness would be. A antidote for wither would be, a ghast tear (actually a basic ingredient for almost every antidote), blaze powder, and glistening melon to make a overpowered healing potion. Antidote for posion would be ghast tear, swiftness (so it acts fast to get rid of the posion), and the 3rd ingredient depends on what kind of posion it  was (posion that has a side effect of constricting or filling the lungs with water? Pufferfish and Turtle shell for last ingredients. Posion that has weakness? Blaze powder, and glistening melon) And antidote for nausea would be ghast tear, and potion of slowness to allow the person to slowly feel better, so their nausea doesn't hit them all at once before disappearing, which can cause them to throw up or have side effects.
13: Thats exactly what they did.
14: Jackie will 100% attempt to fight God and no one can stop him. :) (to be honest im not sure yet, I know I want to do more with Raq and have the idea that maybe he could be the person that finds Dream and gets him out of Mizu, but that's pretty often used in stories and I want to try to think of something more unique. Maybe I'll have it so Raq actually manages to capture the brothers or at least one of them and uses them as blackmail?)
15: When Ranbob was a child and Ran was just a baby Ranbob would often take Ran out of his crib and take him to go watch the fish swim by. When Ran was old enough he'd follow Ranbob everywhere, even a few times he managed to sneak into Ranbobs class room and almost wasn't caught. Ran got extremely clingy one day and managed to gather his haunting all up into his arms and carried them around, even though he was obviously struggling. And Ranbob used to complain about his teachers and idiotic classmates whenever he got home, which is funny when you consider Ran was very impressiable at the time and Ran started mimicking Ranbob, leading to him cursing, much to Ranbobs dismay.
And im curious, do you have any questions that I havent answered? Or do you have any ideas for anything? I'd love to hear whatever you have to say about anything honestly!
Course! I dont have much lore wise other than they go to Kelalen and when they hear Dream is still around they decide to stay back to help fight him. But the idea I have is that Karl is just kinda hanging with everyone I listed, talking about allies or treaties when his time traveling clock/watch starts to go off, and he panics, but sadly in his haste to stop it he makes it worse and it grabs everyone, where they end up in the future. After hours of confusion and explaining they calm down. When 2 days later they find the Gladiator and Fishermen group, at first Karl is strongly against going to then for help, but everyone basically ignores him and go to ask for help. Hours of explanation and proof giving later the GF (Gladiator and Fishermen, got tired of writing it out) group sadly tells them that they cant really help. Until Ran (who was previously gone searching the surrounding area and making sure it was safe) appears high up on a tree (cause I just can't get the image of Ran on a tree and looking comfortable and confident as hell out of my head), and says that maybe Kelalen can help, if not going to Foolish may be a good alternative. Isaac, and Grievous are extremely against going back (at this time a 2 months have past since they left Kelalen)n saying it could be dangerous but Ran just aboustely shoots them down, along with Watson and Jackie agreeing with Ran, and Karls group agreeing to it. They head off to Kelalen. And Jackie is extremely excited at the potential of going to see Foolish finally. And it'd probably be like a sub au where the brothers au is the main backbone for it but at a certain point it separates from the au and becomes its own.
1: Okay, ouch. Can you imagine if Ran brought one of those memories up, and just had Ranbob look confused, or horrified, depending on how quick he realizes what happened? How would Ran react to that realization, both before and after he forgives Ranbob?
3: If nothing else, everyone got some laughs from it-even Benjamin, once his friends were far, far away from his family and not able to teach them more chaos.
8: Cletus, why are you so happy? Do you just enjoy knowing chaos existed back then? Are you an arsonist? What’s up with you?
Also, wow. Not cool, other city people, that’s very mean.
Spoons sounds like it’s interesting, I might try it sometime. Did the group just have those cards on them? What other games did they have?
11: Good, put Dream back in the corner, I’m gonna be yelling more. Because, seriously dude? I know you probably exist solely out of spite, but c’mon. Admittedly, from a certain point of view, it could be considered amusing that your first thought was that Ranbob was making himself weaker out of defiance/spite but like. From a more responsible and mature viewpoint, that’s incredibly stupid, and I-just. Buddy, hate to tell you, but I’m pretty sure that’d just be a you thing. Besides you were in Ranbob’s head, didn’t he think Ran was dead? It doesn’t even make sense. Good lord, I’m half-tempted to get the broom and chase you around like you’re a particularly unruly barn cat.
------
3: First of all, that sounds really scary for Ran. Second of all, are we getting an overprotective arc?
4: Kind of sad, but understandable, they’re dealing with the situation as best they can.
10: Even if the group was provoked by the townspeople? Potions sound really cool, wish I could make those in real life, tbh.
13: W-what do you mean ‘that’s exactly what they did’? Anon, is your friend, like, a legit gremlin? I’m spooked.
14: Foolish takes one look at Jackie, wearing a smile that exactly matched Tubbo’s when he was about to cause chaos, and immediately nopes out of that. He knows that face, and he will not be getting tangled into a fight with a goblin child today, no sir. I’m sure Jackie tries regardless though. (Also, that sounds like that goes horribly, do we get an overprotective ender-sibling, for whoever gets captured or used as blackmail, if that’s what you do?)
15: I love all of these so much, oh my gosh. Baby Ran seeing the fishes and following his big brother around. Poor Ranbob’s face when his baby brother cursed one day, Ran trying to carry all of his haunting. I’m in tears, honestly.
Umm...I can’t think of anything right now, to be honest. If I ever do have a question or idea though, I’ll through it on the Brothers AU tag for you to check out, I guess.
Oh, this sounds really cool. The part about them just ignoring their local time traveler when they’ve just time traveled particularly amuses me, as does Jackie wanting to see Foolish-I feel like Foolish may be a little more than terrified to see both Tubbo and Jackie back, honestly. Why was Ran willing to help them so much? What did they do to offer proof? How did Ranbob react once they proved who they were? How does all the group get along? Are they Ranboo’s haunting, and if so, if Ranboo gets close with his descendants, does he merge his hauntings with theirs? How does the time group feel about the Brothers fighting, and Ranbob’s possession?

Capital City, Fire Nation
The weather in Capital City was beautiful. The sun was out, the birds were chirping, the soft breeze of the wind threading its way in and out of the trees. This, however, was not enough to put a stop to Y/N L/N’s crying. Not even Ty Lee’s jokes could stop the tears streaming down the young girl’s face. Today was the day Y/N would be moving back to the Earth Kingdom of Omashu, her and her mother’s hometown. As much as Y/N wanted to see where she was born and where her mother ruled, Y/N didn’t want to leave her only friends either. Ty Lee, Mai, Zuko, and Azula were the young girl’s best friends. At 8 years old, Y/N was one of the youngest of the group, but the fire nation citizens still let her hang out with them nonetheless.
Being cousins with the fire nation princess’s best friends had its perks. Not that Y/N wasn’t best friends with Azula (which she was), but Azula was just closer to Ty Lee than everyone else in the group.
“Come on Y/N!” Ty Lee exclaimed. “You’ll get to see where you were born! Isn’t that exciting?” The energetic girl ran around Y/N, trying her best to stop her crying. Right after Y/N was born, her parents moved from Omashu to Capital City, where Y/N grew up with her friends.
“Y-yeah, but… I don’t want to leave you guys! You’re my only friends!” Y/N explained. Azula only let the young girl hang out with herself, Mai, Ty Lee, and Zuko. The young girl was quite shy too, which made it even harder for her to make many friends. She wasn’t as energetic as her cousin Ty Lee, as beautiful as Mai, or as intimidating as Azula. She was just there.
“Oh, grow up Y/N. You’re the granddaughter of King Bumi for spirits sake, you’ll be just like Zuko and I.” Azula breathed nonchalantly. She wasn’t the best at sympathizing with others, but at least she made an effort. And it was true that she was the granddaughter of King Bumi, but she never met him due to her mother quickly moving them into Fire Nation territory.
“Y/N, look on the bright side. I’ll be visiting in a couple of years, I think my father has some business there. You won’t be entirely lonely.” Mai tried. Mai’s father was a high status war general, and he was most likely going to take over Omashu. Not that the two girls were aware of that yet.
“You’re r-right, Mai.” The younger girl was excited by this. In a couple of years she wouldn’t be all alone.
“I’m always right.” Mai replied. “But cheer up, because I don’t want you to get tears all over my present for you.” Mai pulled out a package that was wrapped with a beautiful red and gold cloth. Curious, Y/N opened up the package, only to find several intricately designed red and silver shurikens.
“Thank you so much Mai! But why shurikens?” Y/N questioned. After all, it was kind of odd seeing an 8 year old receive knives as a present.
“Just keep it. When I come to Omashu, I’ll teach you how to throw them.” Mai’s parents were always busy and never had any time for her. They supported everything she did as long as she behaved well in front of the public eye. Out of boredom, Mai taught herself how to throw knives so she could defend herself.
“Oh Mai,” Y/N shouted as she ran into Mai’s arms, the older girl reluctantly wrapping them around Y/N’s waist. Just as Y/N was about to shed more tears, Azula split the two apart while Ty Lee watched sweetly.
“Y/N, this is my gift to you. I am aware that Zuko has been training you in sword fighting. I had this sword custom made for you, so take care of it.” Azula cautioned as she pulled out a broad sword. The blade was made of shiny steel, with edges so sharp you could prick your finger by touching it softly. (Y/N learned about this the hard way.) The hilt was a beautiful cardinal red with gold details, a reminder that the weapon was from the fire nation. On each of the sides of the hilt there was a name engraved onto it. One side read ‘Azula’ and the other read ‘Zuko’.
Y/N’s e/c eyes flickered over the engravings in confusion. Azula must have caught on because she broke the silence by saying “It’s so you won’t forget us. Not that you will, but…” Azula let her sentence drift into silence. “It was just going to say Azula on both sides, but Zuzu insisted his name be engraved onto it as well.” Azula continued
“Azula…” Y/N began. “I love you so much Azula!” There was a mess of Y/N’s h/c hair as she ran into the arms of Azula, like a dog would to it’s master. As Y/N pulled away from the hug, Prince Zuko arrived to where the four girls where and cleared his throat.
“Hi Zuko!” Ty Lee chirped. Normally Zuko would berate Ty Lee for not calling him ‘Prince Zuko’, but for the sake of Y/N he let it pass. He wouldn’t want to let Y/N leave with the thought that he was a stuck-up prince.
“Hey there.” The young prince said timidly. “Could I speak to Y/N? A-alone?” He mentally cursed himself for stuttering but the past was in the past. Once Zuko had uttered that sentence Ty Lee and Mai instantly looked at each other with a smirk, while Azula raised an eyebrow.
“I don’t see why not. Just don’t take too long, I want to give Y/N one last ride on the palanquin before she leaves for Omashu. Have fun!” And with that, Azula, Mai, and Ty Lee left the two fire nation kids alone.
Zuko could barely breathe. There she was, Y/N L/N, looking as stunning as ever with the wind making her h/c hair float in the air. She was looking at the turtle ducks in the courtyard that was in the royal palace. Tears were running down her face, as the thought of being without her only friends was corrupting her young mind. Zuko made his way over to Y/N, placing a delicate hand on her shoulder, taking pride in the way Y/N relaxed in his touch.
“Are you o-okay?” The prince stammered. He had never been very good with comforting others. His father had taught him that showing emotions was a weakness, and he should look down upon people who let themselves be vulnerable around others. But Zuko would never do that to one of his friends.
“I guess.” Y/N uttered as she played with a baby turtle duck. “I just don’t want to be without you.” After hearing that last sentence, blood rushed to Zuko’s face and soon he was as red as a tomato. He tried his best to get his face back to a normal color before blurting, “I want to give you something.”
Y/N looked over at Zuko as he pulled out a plain black headband from his pockets. “I know it’s not much, but Lo and Li helped me make it, and I really wanted to get you a gift.” Zuko explained as he put the headband in Y/Ns h/l, h/c, hair.
“Zuko…” Y/N breathed. Now it was her turn to be flustered. She had always had a crush on the young Prince, and she just fell even harder. The two sat in a peaceful silence for a few moments, enjoying the view of each other and the extremely adorable turtle ducks.
After a few more moments, a wave of confidence hit Y/N like the high tide crashing against the rocks on the shore of a beach. Without giving it a second thought, Y/N placed a short kiss onto Zuko’s cheek, dangerously close to his mouth. After the short kiss Y/N stood up and grabbed her belongings, and murmured, “Goodbye, Zuko.” She then started to walk away.
After processing what just happened, Zuko shook his head violently, trying to clear his head, and then chased after the young girl. His hand found her wrist and Zuko tugged on it, causing her body to crash against his. He encased Y/N in a hug, before planting a kiss on Y/N’s head, saying, “I’ll miss you.” Y/N’s eyes started to water, and the two walked hand in hand on their way to meet Azula, Ty Lee, and Mai outside of the palace.

Aphrodite Kallipygos (Zuko x Plus Size Reader) [Modern AU]
Summary: Zuko takes up an art class as part of his therapy and ends up falling in love with a woman who’s a work of art in her own right.
Word Count: 3,500
Disclaimer: There’s a scene in this fic where a couple of thin girls engage in some rude behavior and are criticized in a few none-too-kind words. I want to make it very clear that this scene does not reflect my views of thin people or body positivity - these characters are meant to be a metaphor for greater culture and its strict, unrealistic views of what women should look like.
Author’s Note: I hate rom coms but after writing this fic it dawned on me that I would be excellent at writing them. Also, this one goes out to all my art hoes out there. I geek out pretty hard about art history in this one.
Speaking of which, I reference real-world cultures within the structure of the Avatar universe in this one as well. Something I like to do when I zone out is think about which actual countries would belong to which bending nations; my heritage is primarily from the British Isles, and what with liths like Stonehenge and the hella castles hanging around out there, I think we’d be earth benders - same with cultures like the ancient Egyptians and the Pueblos. I also love the idea of Pacific Islanders who can bend both water and lava, and Incan air benders, and I really wish the idea of global cultures as benders were explored more in the Avatar universe.
Have I mentioned that I’m a massive fucking nerd?

Tumblr media
Zuko never considered himself much of a creative. When he thought about it, he realized that that part of his life had never really been explored; his father always pushed him to focus solely on his bending and combat skills, never allowing even the consideration of other practices or hobbies. As much as Zuko was passionate about the martial arts he'd mastered, he also came to learn that he never had a choice in being passionate about anything else.
“I think you should take an art class,” his therapist suggested. “It would be a good outlet for you, and one that isn't directly influenced by your family.”
“I don't think I've ever drawn anything, though,” Zuko admitted. “I wouldn't be any good.”
“It's not about being good,” his therapist explained, “it's about exploring things that weren't available to you in your youth, freedom of expression. Consider it - there's a shop in this neighborhood that offers classes.”
She handed him a business card adorned with an array of different art styles, from delicate watercolors to bright, bold cartoons; it read, “classes for everything” in a cheerful, clearface font.
Zuko shrugged and pocketed the card. A week later, he was enrolled in a basic studio art course.
He arrived for his first class embarrassingly early, passing under the bell of the shop’s front door twenty minutes before it was scheduled to begin.
The building that housed the shop looked to be older than the rest of the neighborhood around it; the storefront was tiny, with crowded shelves lining each wall and tables and racks wound throughout the center of the space, creating a maze that led to the checkout counter. The room’s ceilings were high, supported by beams in a dark stained wood that matched the floor below. Paper mache sculptures and handmade lanterns hung from the rafters, and the simple, antique plaster walls were decorated with paintings and sketches, likely given by the shop’s clientele. From somewhere in the back, a radio sang folk music, accompanied by the hum of an electric fan.
Zuko wandered through the labyrinthine merchandise displays until he reached the register, where he was met with the single most beautiful sight he may have ever laid eyes on.
You stood behind the counter, leaned over a textbook with a pencil in hand, tapping it back and forth over the pages; you bit your lip in concentration, a few strands of your hair falling loose from the messy knot atop your head and over your cheeks, though you were too focused on your reading to care. An apron bearing the shop’s logo was tied around your waist, emphasizing your body's dramatic curves.
To Zuko, you were gorgeous. He couldn't place what exactly about you allured him; all he knew was that his pulse had quickened to a near dangerous pace.
You looked up at him when you noticed you were no longer alone, flashing him a kind, somewhat distracted smile. He nodded curtly, too nervous to do anything but stare.
“Can I help you?” you greeted him politely.
He cleared his throat, his voice coming out a pitch higher than normal as he spoke.
“I'm here for the art class,” he told you.
You smirked a little, peering down to check the time on your phone.
“It's a little early,” you said. “I was just about to start setting up. You could help me if you want? So you're not so bored while you wait?”
“Yeah,” Zuko mumbled, “yeah, sure.”
You grinned, waving him behind the counter and through a door to the back room. To his surprise, what he expected to be a minuscule stockroom turned out to be a space larger than the actual shop, lined on one wall with massive warehouse windows that poured late afternoon sunlight into the room. Metal shelves and boxes lay haphazardly about, mixed in with a scattering of easels, pottery spinners, canvases, and other art supplies. You directed your guest to a stack of chairs in the corner, instructing him to line them in a half circle in an empty portion of the room while you placed the easels.
“So, do you have a name?” you asked, attempting to make conversation that could drown out the repetitive radio drone.
“Zuko,” he introduced himself.
You stopped what you were doing, fixing him with an awed, slightly amused gape.
“Firelord Zuko?” you wondered.
He blushed, nodding.
“Oh spirits, I'm sorry I didn't bow!” you exclaimed, dropping into a low curtsy. The gesture was mixed with equal parts mirth and genuine respect; Zuko was unsure how to respond, his heart flickering as he watched you.
“I heard you were living somewhere in the city,” you continued after making your own introduction, setting an easel in front of each chair he positioned. “Not into the whole royalty thing?”
Zuko shrugged. He focused on his work, too nervous to look you in the eye.
“Just weird going back there,” he told you. “I don't really want taxpayer money going to making sure I live above my means.”
You leaned against the last chair he set down, smiling warmly at him.
“That's very respectable,” you responded. “Thank you. Y’know, as someone who pays taxes.”
Zuko chuckled softly as you handed him a bin of art supplies, instructing him to set one of each item at every station. He did as he was told, stealing glances at you whenever he was sure you weren’t looking.
“So, uh… do you own this place?” he asked, fumbling over his words.
“Oh, no, this is my professor’s shop,” you replied. “I just work here part time.”
“You’re a student?”
You shook your head.
“Nope. Graduated last year. I work days at the history museum downtown. I also give art history classes here, and help out with the ones Professor Cong teaches.”
“Oh.”
Zuko paused, unsure of what else to say.
“... They teach a different type of history just for art?” he asked after a moment.
You laughed, covering your mouth to muffle the sound and apologizing, giving him a little nod as you collected yourself.
“Yes. Some people even get whole degrees in it,” you giggled. “Not that it’s a useful field to learn anything about.”
Zuko shrugged, trying to shake off the embarrassment of sounding stupid in front of such a cute girl; little did he know, you found the question beyond endearing.
“It sounds important,” he contested. “I’ve been meeting historians from all over the world to correct all the propaganda from the past hundred years. It never occurred to me that I would need different historians for art.”
You smiled at him, meeting him where he stood and handing him one of the sketch pads from your bin. His cheeks pinkened, his eyes darting away from yours as he took it and mumbled a “thank you”.
“I like you, Firelord Zuko,” you decided aloud. “My classes are on Wednesdays. You can come if you want - free of charge.”
Zuko nodded, swallowing heavily as he met your gaze once again.
“Thank you,” he replied. “I appreciate it.”
You laughed a little bit, taking his now empty bin and returning both to their place on a nearby shelf. The shop’s bell rang from beyond the threshold and you went back to the front counter, telling Zuko to take a spot wherever he liked. He sat in the front row; wherever he thought he could be closest to you.
Tumblr media
For the next five weeks, Zuko attended not only his studio art class, but your art history class, showing up early to each lesson so he could spend time alone with you. Despite the fact that you invited him to sit in, he paid the fee for the second course, not wanting you to go without the extra pay for your work - he found a doodle of a turtle duck on his seat the next time he showed up, the fuzzy little penciled duckling telling him he was a terrible listener, but thanking him anyway (with a heart scribbled in beside the words).
With your guidance, Zuko learned that there was much more to art than just vibrant colors and pretty decoration. Everything in art, it turned out, had significance, each piece and work holding insight into the people and cultures who created it; you spoke passionately about the art of the Egyptians, who used specific shapes and colors in their imagery to tell stories beyond the written word, about the mysteries of prehistoric structures that revealed how early humanity was much more sophisticated and interconnected than considered at a glance, about the symbols that translated and influenced across centuries to shape how each nation, each culture, portrayed themselves into the modern world. He found himself hanging on every word, falling even more deeply enamored with you with each moment he spent with you.
It didn’t take you long - what with the easy, pleasant conversations you shared before classes - to discover that Zuko lived relatively close to you, only two stops away on the local metro. Knowing this, you often saw each other on the days you weren't at the shop, meeting at the station between each of your respective neighborhoods and having coffee or dinner in one of its many cafes, talking about anything and everything and managing to pass several hours together in what seemed like the blink of an eye. You loved being with Zuko, finding the more you did it, the less you wanted your rendezvous to end; you thought about him all the time, getting all kinds of giddy whenever he crossed your mind.
On one of your extracurricular excursions, you and Zuko wandered around the local high street, marveling at the different streetside vendors and dreamily window shopping behind the glass of the upscale boutiques, doing little more than enjoying each other’s company. It was a hot day, and along your way, Zuko stopped at a coffee stand to get you each something cold to drink.
A pretty young woman in line in front of you eyed you up and down, her gaze flicking from between you and Zuko with disgust. She jabbed her slim, graceful elbow into her equally as flawless friend’s side, whispering something in the other woman’s ear as they both glared at you, sniggering cruelly behind flat stomachs and angular, willowy frames.
You sneered at them, making a point of hooking your arm within Zuko’s and pressing your much wider hip against his, the poison of the encounter sinking into your skin and infecting your thoughts. Zuko noticed your change in demeanor immediately, steering you away from the scene as soon as your drinks were served.
“You okay?” he asked, still holding tight to your arm.
“Fine,” you quipped, biting back tears. “Just a couple of pretty bitches proving how fucking hideous they are on the inside.”
“Wait, seriously?”
Zuko halted, pulling you to the side of the street and out of the way of traffic. He lay a hand on your shoulder, the firm, able grasp of his palm somehow making you feel even worse.
“Someone would really make fun of you?” he wondered, outraged and incredulous. “Why?”
You shook your head, smiling defeatedly as your lower lip quivered.
“People have made fun of me since I was a kid, Zu,” you told him, speaking as if he should’ve just assumed it. “I’m fat. You can’t tell me you haven’t noticed.”
“So?” Zuko replied. You were so shocked, you physically leaned away from him, raising your eyebrows. “Yeah, you’re fat. That doesn’t mean you’re not pretty. I… I think you’re really pretty. Gorgeous, even. You’re beautiful.”
You blinked at him, taken aback. He gave your shoulder a reassuring squeeze, his eyes never once leaving yours.
“... Did I break you?” he tried after a moment, sounding concerned that it was a genuine possibility.
You laughed, shaking your head in feverish disbelief, attempting to clear the confusion that fogged your battered brain.
“No, I just… Nobody’s ever called me pretty and fat before.”
Zuko shrugged.
“Both are true,” he told you. “I like your body. You look like one of those Greek sculptures. Of the goddesses.”
You stared at him, searching his eyes for any sign of dishonesty or patronization; all you found looking back at you was the clumsily genuine man you were quickly falling in love with.
“... Have I ever told you about Aphrodite Kallipygos?” you asked.
Zuko shook his head, as confused as you had been a few seconds ago.
“She’s a statue of Venus,” you explained. “She’s got her dress raised up over her backside, and when they found her originally, she didn’t have her head; the guy who restored her sculpted it so that she was looking back at herself, admiring her body. There’s even a whole folktale about a pair of brothers who fell in love with two women because they had, like, beautifully fat asses and the town built a temple dedicated to Venus and her butt. The name literally translates to ‘Aphrodite of the Beautiful Buttocks’.”
Zuko chuckled, raising the hand at your shoulder to cup your cheek.
“See?” he said. “Men have worshiped thick, juicy butts since the dawn of time!”
You laughed, your cheeks turning bright red as you buried your face in your hands, leaning forward to rest your forehead on his chest and further hide yourself.
“Zuko, oh my god,” you breathed. “Promise me you’ll never say that out loud in a public setting ever again, please. You’re the fucking Firelord for Tui’s sake.”
Zuko chuckled, wrapping an arm around your waist and hugging you tightly.
“Sorry,” he mumbled, still grinning. “Made you feel better, though.”
You pulled away from him, affectionately punching him in the shoulder. He laughed, gasping at you in mock reproach before pressing a finger into your side, shocking you with a burst of static electricity; you cackled as you jumped away, sticking your tongue out at him.
Zuko felt a rush of lightheadedness as he watched you, savoring the sound of your laugh and the radiance of your smile. It was then he realized he was in love with you.
Tumblr media
The next studio art class focused on model drawing - more specifically, a nude model. Zuko, having been raised in what was arguably the most reserved family in the world, was nervous about the idea of having to sit in front of a stranger for an hour, not only staring at their naked body, but immortalizing it in graphite on a page.
He was mortified when he arrived at the class and found you sitting in the corner, wrapped in nothing but a silk dressing gown.
As you climbed the platform you were meant to model on, your limbs rattled. You began to question your sanity, wondering what you thought you were doing offering to pose for the class, what kind of statement you thought it would make. You faced enough judgement from others about your weight with your clothes on - what the hell did you think they would do when you stood before them completely naked, every bump and crevice on full display for them to gawk at and criticize?
You glanced to the side at Professor Cong, seeking some sort of assurance or comfort from him; he, being the seasoned professional in his mid-sixties that he was, sat reclined in a chair in his Hawaiian shirt and flip flops, scrolling totally undisturbed through Pinterest on his phone. Honestly, you expected no less - his obtuse reactions in the face of the awkward and uncomfortable were basically a superpower.
Taking a deep breath, you untied the knot holding your dressing gown together and let it fall, slipping gracefully from your shoulders and to the floor. You assumed a comfortable, classic pose, purposely facing yourself away from the man whose eyes you could feel searing into your back.
Zuko’s breath hitched as he watched you undress. Though he only saw the full of your body for a moment, he was captivated. The swell of your breasts and curve of your stomach sent him into a dizzy spell, his mouth going dry and his skin heating with a noticeable flush. The rolls of your back, the ripples and divots along your thighs and rump, the stripes etched into your skin like the veins through a granite block, he drank in every part of you, moulding every detail with a focused hand as he sketched. He made note every scar and beauty mark. Once or twice, his mind drifted towards the salacious, imagining how your body would feel beneath his, soft and supple, releasing exalted breaths and enraptured moans, your nails dragging down his back as he drove you closer and closer to infinity…
He inhaled sharply, snapping himself back to his work. You were Venus, Minerva, Diana - a goddess among men. He would gladly spend the rest of his life worshiping you.
Tumblr media
The moment the class ended, you gathered your dressing gown and made a beeline for the employee bathroom, getting back into your clothes as quickly as you could physically manage. The experience of nude modeling wasn’t nearly as harrowing as you expected it to be; you actually found it kind of freeing, being able to show yourself to a room full of other people and come out of it unscathed, in fact feeling quite beautiful - what had you nervous was the fact that you’d have to face Zuko immediately after the fact, seeing as you took the train home together after classes. His was the only opinion you cared about, and you wanted nothing more than to convince yourself that he hadn’t judged you as harshly as the self-hatred brainwashed into you made you believe.
When you emerged from the bathroom, Professor Cong stood in front of one of the empty easels in the back, smirking at the drawing the student had left there.
“Your boyfriend left you his piece,” he teased.
You blushed, glaring at him as you approached and snatched the sketch from his hands.
“He’s not my boyfriend,” you tried in vain to defend yourself.
Professor Cong just chuckled.
“I’ll believe that when I see evidence to the contrary,” he replied.
You looked down at the paper in your hand and felt the breath drain from your lungs, your heart and stomach soaring into your throat.
Zuko had drawn you in the image of Venus, your body draped in gossamer fabric and your head turned over your shoulder, eyes cast downward and lips slightly parted in a blissful, ethereal expression. In the corner of the page, he’d written “Aphrodite Kallipygos” in his sweeping handsome script, beneath which was his signature and the date. You’d never once seen yourself look so beautiful, let alone in the eyes of someone you loved so fiercely.
You swallowed hard, rolling the drawing and securing it with a hair tie from your bag before exiting the shop through the back, knowing Zuko would be in the alley waiting for you.
“Hey,” he greeted you when you appeared through the storeroom door. “Are you okay? You looked really ner-”
You interrupted him by throwing your arms around his neck, slamming your lips into his in a desirous kiss. It took him less than a second to recover himself from the shock of the action and curl his arms around your waist, pressing his body against yours and lifting you every so slightly off the ground, kissing you just as hard as you kissed him. When you parted, you were breathless, your cheeks fiery red and your lips swollen the color of vermilion. Zuko smiled at you, one side of his mouth curling up slightly higher than the other.
“So you liked it?” he asked.
You laughed, nodding.
“Zuko, I loved it,” you gasped. “I love you. I think I loved you as soon as I met you but that sort of thing is really cliche and stupid to admit.”
Zuko chuckled, raising his hand to your cheek and kissing you again, his lips soft and tender this time around. You sighed happily into his mouth, closing your eyes and losing yourself in the feeling of his body sharing the same space as yours.
“I think I loved you the moment I met you, too,” Zuko confessed, his nose grazing against yours as he pulled away. “But you’re right. That sort of thing is really stupid and cliche.”
You giggled, tugging gently on the collar of his jacket.
“Come on,” you prompted him. “Let’s go back to my apartment. You’ve already seen me naked; we need to make it even.”
Zuko laughed, wrapping an arm around your shoulders and leading you out of the alley, his side pressed firmly against yours.
“Fair,” he agreed. “But if you want me to pose for any art, you’ll have to sign some paperwork. I’m still Firelord, you know.”

Sometimes the messenger couldn’t help but think back to the moment they first met. Sometimes he wondered if his brother did too.
--------------
It was a bright and sunny day, and he was a mischievous little piece of shit.
Apollo glared at the young boy and yet, despite the fact that he had just threatened to throw the bastard into Tartarus, his expression slowly softened.
Hermes grinned. “I’m willing to trade this lyre for the cows!”
--------------
‘Things were so much simpler, back then’ the god thought, as he sighed, laying down on an open field and gazing up into the night sky. Speaking of Apollo…
A head suddenly popped into view, accompanied by a familiar melodious voice.
“What’re you doing here?”
Hermes blinked. “I-” “I’m on a break; somehow sleep wasn’t cooperating with me tonight, so here I am. Hey, if anything, I should be the one asking you that!”
“Ah well, sorry if I startled you then. I was just passing by.”
“Since when did you like to walk around in the dark in some random ass field??”
“Bored.”
“...you okay?”
“Why wouldn’t I be?” His brother seemed confused by that remark and just smiled.
The messenger internally cursed. Now the moon wasn’t the only thing his eyes were focusing on.
‘Things were so simple, back then.’
‘How did this happen and how the fuck did I get here??’
Perhaps Perseus had softened him up more than he thought he did.
He was glad to finally see him again, though. Contrary to what he was used to, he could barely even recall the last time he had ran into him. How long had it been, a month? Two months? Three?
Hermes sat up and asked, “You’re really free tonight?”
“Well, I did just say that I’m bored, didn’t I? What about it?”
“So am I.” He looked quite determined all of a sudden. “You wanna hang out? It’s been a while.”
“I guess it has been a while.” Apollo thought for a moment. “What do you have in mind?”
---------------------------------
“Uh, Hermes, where are we going?”
“Wherever the fates will take us!”
“So, basically what I was doing before I bumped into you, walking around until I find something interesting.”
“Well then mister-know-it-all, can you think of something better? Hmmmm?”
The god held in a laugh. “No.” He glanced around, the grass crunching under their steps. “I suppose, with your company, this is sort of… nice; kind of relaxing actually.”
“Heh, of course it is!” The messenger just hoped that the moon wasn’t too bright. “Being around me is the best!”
He raised an eyebrow. “Debatable.”
Hermes pouted, at which Apollo could no longer contain his laughter, not that the younger god cared. If anything, instead of taking offense, it only made him smile.
Then he sighed.
He was a patron of thieves and deceit; his brother was the god who never lied. He had always thought that they would never get along, but it seems that the fates thought otherwise.
He still remembered how it used to be. Back then, his brother would look like he was judging him every time he walked into the room. However, unbeknownst to him, that wasn’t true at all, but that interpretation was through no fault of his. Apollo had always been hard to read, especially back in the early days when he barely knew him.
He’s not sure when, but at some point that judging look was suddenly accompanied by a dazzling smile. The first time it happened though, he recalled that it had been slowly replaced by a small frown.
--------------
“Is everything alright, Hermes?” The blonde raised an eyebrow.
He merely blinked, laughing it off. “Of course! Just got a little distracted for a second there.”
--------------
Ironically, similar to how it was in that memory, Apollo had to snap him back into reality again; this time by having to grab a hold of his arm to prevent him from mindlessly walking off a cliff.
Needless to say, it took a while for Hermes to convince a concerned god of health that everything was okay.
---------------------------------
He could never truly figure out when the predicament first took root; when this feeling really started to grow and gnaw on him. All he knew was that it was probably indirectly influenced by that incident with Perseus and just, everything about Apollo in general. Then again, what the hell did he know? Even Athena realized he was head over heels for him earlier than he did.
--------------
“Hermes,” She whispered. “You’re staring.”
--------------
He shook the thoughts out of his head and tried to regain his bearings. They were sitting on the edge of a cliff overlooking a nearby town. Not only that, there was also music in the air, and his eyes darted to the turtle lyre in the musician’s hands.
This time Apollo noticed. “Did you prefer the silence?”
“Nonono, not at all.” He paused. “By the way, how’s Asclepius?”
“He’s doing fine, now that he’s well adjusted. I’m just glad he’s back.”
Hermes could’ve sworn something about his brother’s gaze felt mildly… bittersweet, somehow.
And so for a few moments, that was all it was, the hum of their lyre. They had no other company aside from a curious deer, a few feet away, munching on a patch of grass.
Then his eyes fell onto the city, specifically one of the blonde’s temples, and an idea popped into his head, but not before briefly arguing with himself.
‘Ooooohhhh, are you going to perform another song number to cheer him up?-’
‘Hey! I thought we agreed to never talk about that ever again!’
‘I mean, it technically wasn’t your voice that ruined it. Remember? Goldie actually quite liked it. You were just a clumsy dumbass that tripped and knocked everything over.’
‘Shush!’
Well, at least the remark about his singing made him feel a little better. This new plan to cheer Apollo up, however, had nothing to do with that and would hopefully be a lot less risky.
“You hungry?” Hermes asked. “I could kinda go for some honey cake right now.”
“Honey cake… I do like me some honey cake and I guess there is nothing that’s going to stop me from just, making one right now.” He paused, before turning towards his brother. “You want to help?”
---------------------------------
Olympus’ garden was huge; its depths filled with paths most don’t even know of. It was here that the two gods sat down on top of a small hill, right in front of a giant crevice that overlooked all of their creations.
Apollo was the one holding the plate that held their precious honey cake. “We really like coming here, huh?”
“Who wouldn’t? The view’s spectacular.” While his brother was busy staring off into the horizon, Hermes took the opportunity to take a small bite out of their dessert. “Damn, the cake tastes really good by the way.”
Apollo was about to protest about the bastard sneakily taking the first bite, when Hermes softly pressing a tiny piece of cake against his mouth.
“Come on goldie, try it!”
He gave him a look, but still ate it anyway. “Mm… I guess so, not bad. Actually, kinda proud of it!” His eyes faintly lit up.
Hermes couldn’t help but smile at that. “We should do this more often-”
To his surprise, this time Apollo was the one that help up a piece of the dessert for him. “We really should.”
The messenger reluctantly obliged and took a bite, but suddenly froze. The blonde was holding his chin and had used his thumb to brush away most of the crumbs near his lips. Now he felt a little dizzy.
“Maybe I should ask the others for some recipes-” Apollo stopped, immediately getting worried when Hermes had his hands over his own mouth and started choking.
-------
“Hey, hey, hey Herms?-”
“Y-” “Yeah, yeah I can hear you, I’m fine-”
“Fine my ass!”
“I mean, well that’s not wrong either-” “Oh my fucking gods I HATE MYSELF SO MUCH-” Hermes just covered his mouth again while Apollo frowned in confusion, but decided that there were other far more pressing matters to attend to and continued analyzing his brother’s condition; even placing two fingers on his neck to check for this idiot’s pulse.
“What the hell happened?! You looked like you had a fucking heart attack.”
“I… I think you’re over thinking this. It was probably just me being a dumbass.” He laughed nervously.
Apollo didn’t seem very convinced.
Hermes internally cursed himself again; placing his hands on both of the blonde’s shoulders. “So I choked on a cake, so what? Look, seriously I’m fine, okay? Come on, relax.”
“If you say so…” It was obvious that it barely comforted him at all. Still, Apollo felt bad when he frowned. He didn’t want the messenger to start blaming himself and feeling guilty about ruining the mood. “I’m sorry. I was just really worried.” He briefly paused, before muttering, “I love you. Even if we’re gods, the last thing I want is to see you suffering or incapacitated-”
“It was just a fucking honey cake-” “wait.” Hermes stared, suddenly feeling like he could barely breathe; only managing to just barely stutter out, “W-” “What did you just say?”
The musician looked puzzled. “Hm? Did I say something I shouldn’t have?”
“Huh? Nononono! I just-” The thought of making Apollo feel even worse made his insides knot; panicked, he just blurted out, “I-” “ILOVEYOUTOO!”
Apollo didn’t expect that response at all. He barely had any time to process anything when Hermes stood up, about to scram, but a stray grapevine made him trip at the first step.
The messenger heard someone giggle. One second he was face first onto the ground; the next he was suddenly looking up at a familiar blonde, cradled in his arms.
“I had a feeling you were hiding something from me…” Apollo’s frown turned into a teasing grin.
“Pft! What in Zeus’ name are you talking a-” “about…” His voice slowly trailed off the moment he felt a hand cup his cheek.
Apollo just, laughed. “My, my, who knew the charismatic silver tongue bastard could be as red as-”
“Oh fuck you!”
The god raised an eyebrow. “Oh?”
Hermes paused, and then cursed, now avoiding eye contact.
“You alright? For someone who knows the mortal realm like the back of his hand you look… kinda lost?”
He was reluctant to even respond this time. “No shit; this isn’t something I’m experienced in.”
“Experience in what? Navigating the road to my bed?”
At that point his brain might’ve just malfunctioned, while the other chuckled; his smile only getting wider.
“Okay sorry, sorry. I couldn’t help it-” He stopped.
His arms were empty.
-------
Fortunately, in the process of trying to run away, Hermes somehow ended up back at the hill. He was hesitant, but curious, and the moment he took a closer look he immediately felt his heart drop. Apollo didn’t really look upset but rather… unexpressive?
Apollo hadn’t run after him because he figured that the messenger needed some time to breathe, so you can imagine his surprise when he found himself suddenly wrapped up in a hug, accompanied by a shit ton of apologies.
“I… Herms, it’s okay.” He laughed, giving him a few pats on the back. “I’ll be fine; now you’re the one over thinking things.”
The god was suspicious, but didn’t pry any further, at least for now. Instead, he just hugged a little tighter. “Still, sorry for being an absolute fucking disaster.”
“No need. Hey, on the bright side it was kinda cute-” The musician felt a faint punch on his side, causing him to laugh even more.
“Anyway…” Hermes sighed, pulling away. “What happened to the honey cake?”
“It’s over here.” Apollo picked up the plate that he had set aside, and broke off a small piece of the dessert. “You still want some?”
The messenger stared at it for a bit, and then parted his lips.
---------------------------------
Instead of waking up to the walls of his room, his eyes were greeted by familiar tuffs of gold. Hermes immediately sat up and tried to get his bearings. It was then that it hit him.
They haven’t left at all; they both fell asleep in the garden.
That wasn’t the only thing he noticed. Looking around, there weren’t just tiny drops of morning dew on the grass, but several puddles scattered all over.
‘Huh? Did it rain?’
He glanced at the blonde. Neither of them had a single speck of water on them.
‘Guess he’s just that hot, huh?’ He softly snickered at his own pun.
He knew he probably had a few jobs to do, but instead of standing up, he just laid back down, wrapping an arm around the musician’s waist and gave him a quick peck on the lips.
Unbeknownst to Hermes, Apollo smiled, and that wasn’t the only detail he missed. The vine that had made him trip was gone, like it never existed, but what did it matter? All the messenger cared about was going back to sleep.

Survey #356
“i’m just a painting that’s still wet: if you touch me, i’ll be smeared, you’ll be stained, stained for the rest of your life”
Have you ever used emotional blackmail to get your own way? WOW, no. What a starter. Has anybody ever used emotional blackmail on you? Not to my memory. Who did you last worry about and why? Honestly? Myself. My physical health just isn't very good right now. When are you next at work? Do you enjoy your work? N/A When was the last time you ate/drank something gross just to be polite? I'm not sure; I'm honestly very, very bad at this. I struggle big time hiding if I don't like something. Last time you heard a growl, who or what did it come from? My stomach. When did you last make up a baby’s bottle? Never. Do you have a mouse for your laptop? (Assuming you have a laptop) I use a mouse. I'm not a big trackpad fan. Do you have the right time set on your microwave? Yeah. What is your most expensive bill? I don't have any bills that I pay myself, because I can't. Do you have a big yard? No. Is there someone you would love to punch right now? Myself lol. Does the water in your shower take a long time to get warm? Yeah, it does. Song playing? I have "Leave A Scar" by Marilyn Manson on. Are you tired? I'm always tired. If you had the power to instantly transform someone’s life (for the better), who would you choose to use this on? My mom. Her entire life has been so fucking unfair, and she doesn't deserve it whatsoever. Just one day of her being perfectly happy would make my entire life. You wake up to a ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE. Your family is safe, but most of your city is zombified. You need weapons and various other supplies. What is your first general course of action? I seriously cannot even begin to imagine what I would do besides panic and be one of the first to die, honestly. If a family member (or boyfriend/girlfriend, if you have one) happened to be infected by one of these undead creatures, how would you go about dealing with that situation? It would tear me to shreds, but shoot them in the head to hopefully prevent them from turning. I couldn't let them suffer. Does someone’s view on homosexuality affect how you feel about them in any way? Sure as hell does. How about someone’s view on religion? This one depends on what their beliefs entail and to what intensity. If you were paralyzed from the neck down, would you still want to continue living? Why or why not? NO. NO. NO. This is seriously one of my biggest fears. Just fucking kill me. That sounds like very legitimate torture to me. Has any medication you’ve taken ever made you sick? How so? Three, to my memory. When I started Latuda, it made me throw up semi-frequently, BUT its effectiveness made me stay on it. My body eventually adjusted. The same thing happened with my current mood stabilizer, Vraylar. I was also on another, Trintellix I think, and that one did nothing but consistently make me puke, so I stopped it. Would you ever consider being a foster parent? No. Would you rather drink alone or with friends? With friends. Do you have too much time on your hands? WAY too much time. And yet I do nothing productive with it. Have you ever thought about hurting someone? Not seriously, no. Do you thank people for helping you? Always. Have you ever seen a zebra up close? Yeah, a few. Do you freak out if you see blood? Nah, it doesn't bother me. Have you ever complained to a manager about anything? What was it? No. Are there any songs that make you feel angry inside when you hear them? "Eternally Yours" by Motionless In White makes me feel that, among a thousand other emotions that are way too strong for me to handle, so I just don't listen to it. Have you ever been in a building that was on fire? YIKES, no. Are you in an argument with anyone right now? No. Have you ever written a poem for someone? Numerous times. Who’s the last person who cussed you out in anger? I think only my grandmother has done that. Who is the person you are closest to that you’ve meet online? Sara. (: Have you friended your parents on FB? I have my mom on there, but Dad doesn't have a FB. Where do you go out to eat for a special occasion? It depends on what we're in the mood for and what the occasion is. When someone sneezes, do you say “Bless you,” or “God Bless you?” Just "bless you." Have you ever seen the movie A Walk to Remember? Cliche or worth watching? Yeah, it's a wonderful movie. Do you live in a house, apartment, or another type of arrangement? House. Are you one of those people who like to spell out numbers? Grammatically speaking, any number below ten should be spelled out. I obviously spell out "ten," but w/e. Did you or do you still have a Furby? Was/is it annoying? I did as a kid. It didn't annoy me then, but as an adult I know they're creepy as shit lol. What's one event your town has that you don’t like to participate in? I don’t participate in any town events. Are any of your siblings married? What are their spouse’s names? Yeah. There's Nick, Josh, and Franky. Do you know how to sew? What's your favorite thing to sew? No. Have you ever owned a turtle? Did it ever bite you when you owned it? It's so awful looking back on, but my sisters and I kept a box turtle that wondered into our yard once as kids. No proper husbandry or anything; it was just in the kiddie pool. Thankfully, we were smart enough to not actually keep it forever (or rather, until it probably died from improper care); we wound up releasing it into the pond near our house, from which we assume it came from. Do you have Photoshop? If so, how often a day do you use it? I do; it comes with the Adobe photography bundle I have. I definitely don't use it daily, or even weekly. Has your school ever had a lockdown? If so, for what reason exactly? No, only drills. Do you enjoy it when your school has drills? (ex/fire or tornado drill?) I didn't, no, because I didn't like imagining the real situation. Do you watch any shows that you know your parents wouldn’t approve of? I'm an adult, for one. But anyway, I've never watched shows they'd have a problem with. If you have any pets, how would you describe their personalities? The cat, Roman: very, very affectionate, boisterous, demanding, playful, smart as fuck, and shy when it comes to strangers. The snake, Venus: curious, chill, and a bit timid. Do you have any friends that own a private lake? Not to my knowledge. Do you have a drone? No. Who is your favorite comedian? It was John Pinette, but following his death, probably Gabriel Iglesias. Where were you the last time you stayed in a hotel? I think at a dance competition? Do you know anyone with Crohn’s disease? Yeah. Out of all of the shows, movies, and books you love, who is your OTP (one true pairing)? Probably Spyro and Cynder from The Legend of Spyro trilogy. I love them. But I honestly don't have like, intense OTP feelings for any fictional characters? No real reasons, I just don't. Rhett and Link are my *true* OTP haha, but I didn't know if they counted since they're obviously real. Have you ever written a fanfiction? Did people actually like it? Nah. Have you ever liked playing dollmakers or online dress-up games? OH MY GOD my little sister and I would do that together ALL the time. Have you ever sent any celeb fan mail? No. Have you ever gotten a serious injury at school? What happened? No. Do your pets follow you when you walk around the house? Oh yes, he's my shadow. What was the very first social media site you signed up for? Myspace. Are you the type of person who knows exactly what they want in life? I mean, I know what I want, I just don't know if it's achievable for me. Do you have commitment issues? Nope. If you were to start a business, what kind would it be? I'd love to have like my own facility for boudoir photography. I've only shot boudoir once, but it immediately became a passion because of how empowering it was for my then-friend. I could go on a real ramble as to why I love it. What’s something you’ve done that sounds too crazy to be true? Been to psychiatric hospitals like six times. I honestly did lose count. Are there any flowers planted outside your house? No. What was the last thing you drank? Water. Truly incredible, I know. What’s the weirdest decoration you’ve seen in someone else’s home? *shrug* Did you have your own bathroom when you were growing up? No. Does anyone in your family smoke? My dad and his wife. What’s an opinion you find impossible to take seriously? That dinosaurs never existed. What was the very first election you voted in? This past one, actually. Do you feel positive and optimistic about your future? I don't want to think about this. What exes do you still associate with? Just Sara and Girt. Who told you they loved you last? My mom. Your worst enemy? I don't say I have any enemies. People who don't like me or I don't like them, but "enemy" isn't the proper word. What was your last dream about? Ugh. What a fucking question to ask, considering what I dreamt last night. I had both a nightmare and a normal dream; in the nightmare, I was sucked up into a tornado and carried away, and it felt so, so real. I was terrified. The dream is more vague in my memory, but I know I was at Jason's house (which wasn't actually his house) and his mom was still alive. I was hanging out with her and just chatting. It made me wake up in a really somber mood. Have you ever been admitted to the hospital? Psych hospitals, yes. Have you ever built a snowman? Yeah. What is your favorite milkshake flavor? Chocolate. Do you have any scars? I have a lot, but most are from negligible instances that just won't go away for some reason. If you could breed two animals together to defy the laws of nature, what new animal would you create? Putting all impossibilities aside as well as any potential health repercussions, maybe a meerkat and an opossum? Just in general a meerkat with a marsupial tail would be SO cute. Plus imagine the pattern. What is the most unusual conversation you’ve ever had? Oh I don't know. Can you do any accents other than your own? I can pull off a really convincing British one. Do you sing in the shower? Or do anything unusual in the shower? Explain. No. I just get clean, get out. I've always hated showering (the process anyway, I obviously enjoy feeling clean), so I get my business done adequately and then I'm done. Do you believe in aliens? Eh, maybe. It does seem pretty questionable to believe NOTHING else can exist in an infinite space. I doubt they're little green men, though. What do you think about babies? WAY too much work and WAY too much responsibility. Keeping another life safe, healthy, happy... the idea alone is terrifying. No thanks.

First | Kim Wooseok

↬ Pairing: Wooseok x fem!reader.
↬ Genre: Fluff.
↬ Warnings: none.
↬ Word Count: 1.8k
↬ Song recommendation: First by Jooyoung ft. SOLE.
↬ A/N: I’m obsessed with the way that Wooseok looks while wearing coats so I’ll leave two beautiful examples here because I just had to add it to the scenario: example one, example two. And black haired Wooseok????? Fuck.
Tumblr media
No matter how many times you two did this, he still felt a tiny bit nervous. It wasn’t your first date at all, if anything it was almost the tenth time you got to meet up with him, but Wooseok couldn’t get over the warm sensation on the pit of his stomach. Knowing that he would get to see you again always made him smile involuntarily, staring down to the floor in order to hide his bashful expression. The relationship was barely starting and he still couldn’t get used to the way his lungs tightened whenever you stood too close to him.
As soon as he felt the slight tap on his shoulder he had gotten used to, his heart jolted, eyes almost glinting as he greeted you. Usually he would say something that was kind of flirtatious, but his confidence tended to waver whenever he was in front of you, afraid that if he messed up you would hear just how loud his heart beat whenever you were near him and finally discover how intense his feelings for you really were.
You started to walk aimlessly, not really caring where it would take you since it was enjoyable simply being next to him. He listened intently to each and all of your words, keeping silent while his stare dropped to your fingers, his own fidgeting as he held back the impulse to intertwine them with yours. So far, he had deducted that physical contact didn’t really bother you, but there was a part of him that still wanted to be careful around you since he didn’t want you to think that he was trying to take advantage of the situation nor anything like that. After all, being like this and get to see you was all he needed.
There was that protective aura coming off from Wooseok: he always looked serious and calm, inwardly analyzing every single thing around him and always aware of his surroundings. He proved this once again as he eyed the street, his hands grabbing your shoulders and moving you slightly so that you would walk on the other side when he saw motorbikes pass by, and there weren’t enough gods for you to thank them that he wasn’t looking your way, your cheeks burning profusely.
When you spotted shiny lights, there was nothing holding back your excitement, grabbing his hand and dragging him towards the fair that was close by. Even when you had reached your destination, none of you let go of each other, thanking the opportunity to finally feel the other closer. Your fingers felt cold against his slim ones and he took the chance to stick both of your hands on the pocket of his coat, your whole system warming up at the sweet action.
“Oh? There is one of those arm wrestling games over there… The boys are always bragging about how you are good at it.” He shrugged his shoulders, already mustering up his strength. “Care to show?”
He let out a small sigh, leaning his head to a side. “This will be easy, just watch.”
It wasn’t easy. Most of the time that kind of games were a bit rigged just so that people would lose his money, but this time it was about Wooseok’s pride and he was not going to lose that. At least not in front of you. His stare was penetrating the still fighter in front of him, expression slightly trembling as the game started, his arm hurting a bit with the burning but still not giving up, a small victory scream coming out of his lips as he finally beat the machine.
“Oh~” His lips formed a tiny proud pout at your reaction. “That was pretty amazing, I must say.”
The seller didn’t seem very happy with the situation though, probably since he thought that he would lose because of how slim he looked. “You get to choose any of the prices for beating in record time.”
“That one big bear looks nice, don’t you think?” His brows furrowed as you ignored his suggestion and chose a small cat plushie instead, not quite understanding why you would go for it when you could have chosen something better or bigger.
“It looks like you, so I want to take it home with me.”
If anyone else had said that to him, he would have probably started to say that there was no way and complain uselessly, but since it was you, his stomach flipped around with joy, quickly pulling his turtle neck up so that you wouldn’t catch the dumb smile he had plastered on his face.
The smell of food filled the air, the sound of your stomach grumbling made him laugh as he walked to one of the fast food places, pretending to try and read the prices as he waited right behind of you in the line and hugging you tightly. It wasn’t conscious, really, because otherwise he would have gotten extremely flustered. You had come to realize that much: Wooseok would unconsciously become touchy whenever he was near you, holding your hands out of nowhere or playing with your hair, even holding you close like now, but the second he snapped out of it, his cheeks could reflect what you imagined hell was like.
After buying some food and eating it, he proposed to get on the Ferris wheel, saying that “the view must be amazing at this time” when really he just wanted it to be the two of you alone for a little while. It was hard for him to be completely open and upfront about his feelings which took him to create witty plans to get whatever he wanted.
You expected him to take a seat by your side, the way every single couple did in this kind of rides, secretly holding the wish that you two could finally have your first kiss when the wagon reached the top, your fantasy crumbling instantly as he sat right in front of you. It slightly disappointed you but the excitement from the view was way bigger, holding the plushie tightly against you, jealousy striking Wooseok as he glared at the big inexpressive eyes of the toy wishing to be in his place. He chose to focus on your face and the way your smile became bigger as you looked outside the window, the city lights illuminating your facial features in the most adorable way.
He started to remember you two met, introduced by Seungyoun, the awkwardness that lingered almost through the whole date until he tripped while walking you home and how the sound of your laugh captivated greatly. Or on your second date, when you chose to watch an action movie at the cinema without telling him it was in 4D, giggling at each of his exaggerated reactions. Many would tell him he looked intimidating, others simply stating that he had a mysterious aura, but when he had asked you what was your first impression of him, you simply said “warm”.
“What are you thinking about?” Your voice pulled him out of his trance, blinking a few times without knowing exactly what to reply.
So he just said the first thing that came to mind. “I really like you.”
The sudden confession had you blushing and he stumbled with his own words as he realized what he just said. You noticed that you were close to the top, your body fidgeting to get up and do something, but it wasn’t enough… so you just held the plushie in front of you and gave it a small kiss, Wooseok freezing in place, slowly putting the pieces together and there was never a moment where he felt more embarrassed. He didn’t quite think about the romantic location he had chosen to take you, and when he was about to take action, it was the end of the ride.
As you got off the Ferris wheel, he noticed your slight shudder at the cold breeze and saw it as an opportunity to pull the cheesiest move and recover from his previous failure, taking off his scarf and wrapping it around your neck instead, a proud smile spreading on his face as he saw the color in your cheeks. You had enough of you being always the one getting shy in front of him, seeing how smug he always looked whenever he managed to get you like this, so reuniting every bit of courage in your being, you held the slope of his coat and pulled him towards you, your lips grazing his cheek softly, causing him to open his eyes wide, jaw dropping down as he tried to compose himself, but that wasn’t happening any time soon.
It seemed as if you had won until he suddenly turned you around and held the extremities of his scarf, pulling you closer and pecking your lips, the contact lasting barely a few seconds but it felt like a whole eternity. There was a new kind of cold running up and down your body, immediately replaced by an insane warmth that could make the air around you evaporate in the blink of an eye. He pulled out his phone, hugging you from the back and placing his chin on your shoulder, taking advantage of your shock to take a selfie.
Looking at the picture now made him smile, even after a few years. That was the real start of everything, at least for him. There were too many first times for him: your first kiss, your first picture together, and the first time he thought about building a future with someone. So far, so good, he thought, staring at the frames hanging on the small shared apartment that showed all the memories that you two built for the past three years.
“Are you ready to go?” He turned around at your voice, his eyes taking in your outfit as he got up, sliding his hands around your waist. At times he thought about how naturally the action came out now, as if the things had always been like this between you two.
“You look absolutely stunning.”
You giggled at his compliment, fixing the neck of his shirt. “So do you. Now let’s go before we miss the reservation.”
He followed behind you, his heart beating faster just like that one time, although the reason was completely different from the one back then, the small box on the pocket of his blazer becoming extremely heavy as if demanding to be opened right then and there with the promise of another first time approaching.

I wrote this whole scenario so messily because literally as I was describing one scene, another came into mind and so I had to write it down quickly and then go back to the previous one and I just... I love Wooseok so much, I hope that whoever dates him takes care of his beautiful heart.

Don’t Call Me Bugaboo -
She’s not your Love-Bug
There this one post about how Marinette won’t let anyone call her ‘Bugaboo’ or any bug/cute nickname unless it was from Chat Noir or Adrien. So that inspired me to write this short mess a while back. As it seems cute since this fic does match my url. heheheh- enjoy.
I think that I may write something more if the idea stay in my head. Like make Clairvoyance into a ‘real’ episode or fic.
“Silly Bug! Don’t you know that you could get squashed playin’ like that!?”
Ladybug ran to a harsh stop, her feet stinging with her rough landing. Feeling the extra momentum throw her off the balance if it wasn’t for the grip on her suit. Her breathes escaped hard and heavy out of her nose, trying to catch her breath. Pumping her lungs with fresh adrenaline and oxygen. Glaring at the Akuma through her midnight blue bangs.
Gripping her yo-yo a little tighter.
“Speak for yourself, Clairvoyance.”
“More like Clairvo-Annoyance, if you ask me.” Chat Noir mumbled, reaching the scene in time. His fangs sticking out of his lips, shooting a wink to the red heroine. As dumb the joke was, it was a signal of reassurance to calm his LB. Ignoring the disgusted expression from the villain.
With baton ready in hand, Chat Noir itching to play offense or if needed, support for his Lady against the Akuma’s tricks. Racking his brain for ways to make the new villain pay or a quick getaway in case the Akuma pulled another foul trick from their sleeves. With the power to the bent reality and see anything in view or out, Clairvoyance proved to be a ‘little’ tricky to sneak around. Being five steps ahead of them before the Miraculous Duo even took one. Driving Ladybug out of her comfort zone as she analyzed the new threat to Paris.
Clairvoyance scowled at the leather-cat before swiping their glasses.
That’s when it clicked in LB’s head.
The corrupted butterfly must be in their glasses!
“I’ll make you eat your words, you dirty rat.”
“Ouch.” Chat winced, rubbing his chest as if Clairvoyance’s words stung his big heart. Chat’s acid eyes fluttered before landing a bitter smile on his pink lips.
“First off, I’m clearly a cat. I thought that was clear. Second,” He motioned his collar bell, flicking his claws out, “-You better be a purr-fect cook if you gonna make me eat my words.”
“Might as well cook me and the Lady dinner if you’re offering.”
Chat’s remakes fell flat once he saw Clairvoyance’s growl turn into a crafty grin.
“I have plenty of tricks for you to pick from the menu!”
With a swipe of their hand, black holes appeared on the ground. Quickly expanding to the whole floor, swallowing the solid ground into a void.
The duo jumped before they could fall into the nothingness or a tunnel that lead to the unknown. Twirling and flipping out of harm’s way as Clairvoyance made more black holes appear with the swipe of their hand. The corners of their thin lips turned up into a sick grin on their periwinkle face the more Ladybug and Chat Noir jumped around, avoiding the danger than grew under their feet. The heroes pushing themselves off the leftover bits of the green grass, trying to reach the edges of the huge stadium or even better- the high bleachers.
Chat Noir hopped from piece to piece, feeling himself getting cocky. Opening his mouth to speak, only for a yelp to escape. His boot missed the step and fell back. Feeling the hum of the black hole on his back as he slipped closer and closer to the nothingness. A shot yelp brought Ladybug’s attention to the black cat. Pulling her arm back as her stomach squeezed in anxiousness, launching her yo-yo out to pull her partner out of the vacuum.
Feeling his weight hang on the edge of her string, she tugged back. Fishing out a black cat into her arms. His hair ruffled and eyes widen once they both realized what had just happened.
“I guess your bad luck never fails.” Ladybug smirked. Not helping to pull her own joke to reassure her kitty.
“You never fail to swoon me, Bugaboo.” Chat Noir sighs. Ladybug could have sworn that his thin pupils turned into little hearts as he grinned back at her. Her grip on her partner's waist tightened when she tossed her yo-yo up and over a steel beam. Hopefully strong enough to hold them as she pushed her feet from the ground running.
Our heroes swung up to the stadium bleaches, away from the black holes that ate away at the once-solid ground.
Clairvoyance burst out in giggles as the Miraculous Duo struggled to regain their ground. Ladybug holding her yo-yo tightly as Chat Noir pulled out his baton from his back.
“Woowwwww.” Clairvoyance rolled out their lips. Winking at the team before raising their hands to their glasses. Ready to spit out another obstacle.
“You’re so slick, Bugaboo.” They chuckled, quickly swiping their hand out to motion another tear in reality, all in hopes to confuse the bug and cat team. Portals stretched out behind the villain, revealing another monster entering the stage floor.
“But that cleverness of yours can only last so long.”
Ladybug ground her teeth. Only to drop her frown when she noticed the red and black spots highlighting the ceiling and Chat Noir’s baton.
Gaining her own smile that confused Clairvoyance but motivated Chat.
“Don’t call me Bugaboo or I’ll make YOU eat your words.”
————
“Gross.” Marinette winced as she pulled her arm away. Pressing it against her chest to protect herself. Still feeling the tingle of their touch on her forearm. Causing her to recoil from the man before stepping back. Her heels already tapped the wooden floor, ready to leave and find another seat.
“Oh, don’t be like that, Love-Bug.” The fresh-cut college student cooed. Ready to move a little closer even as Marinette moved back.
That name just felt wrong as it slipped from his lips and reached her ears. Touching her temples as if she could stop herself from hearing this ‘evil’ or erase it from her memory.
This guy really wasn’t getting it.
“Not your Love-Bug, creep,” Marinette said, again. Grabbing her purse before heading out. Deciding that it wasn’t worth getting harrassed to leave her doom room. Just when she thought she had enough of this guy’s behavior, he still dared to grab her by the arm and pull her near.
Some people don’t know what ‘no’ means until they get a punch, square in the face.
______
“Don’t call me Bugaboo.” Ladybug snarled. Snapping shut her yo-yo communicator before facing the monkey behind her. Telling him to knock it off and she slowly gets tired of his jokes. It annoyed her even more than usual since she was cold, ready to detransform, and go home. The weather didn’t help her mood, but Ladybug just pulled her hoodie over her head.
Ignoring it for now.
“-Not if you want to make it out of this patrol home safely,” she added, slipping her yo-yo back to her side. Lifting herself up after watching the ground for a moment. Sniffing the bits of cement from cheap construction nearby and smoke of something burning elsewhere. The yellow-lights flickered in the Parisian apartments below her and the wind blew around old trash that cluttered alleyways. There amid the calm and crowded city was Rena’s signal to go.
Mayura was near.
Meaning Hawk Moth was closer.
“That’s the call.” Ladybug murmured. Motioning her team of a snake, monkey, and turtle to follow the next step of her plan.
Positioning themselves for her go. Itching to get out there. On the edge from being a still statue to swift blur on the roofs of buildings.
“Let’s go.” Ladybug being the first to run out before the rest followed suit.
———
“Honestly, I think you are over-reacting-”
“Excuse you because it’s the exact opposite going on! You aren’t taking this project seriously.” Marinette huffed. Pulling her bag over her shoulder, which was filled to the papers and folder about the new upcoming line being launched with GUESS.
“I-”
“No, Calvin. I don’t want to hear it. We have deadlines and they are not being met. Do something before you force me too.”
Marching out of the office before getting called out by the marketing team again. Pulling her in their office before Marinette could shake them off.
“Marinette, hey! Baby-”
Marinette gave her co-worker a dull look, telling them to not push her buttons like they did every other day. Hoping that because she’s still a newbie in the company, she would this pass.  Marinette was growing tired of this and even more with the fact that they seem to see her as a small sister rather than a co-worker. Tugging on the pockets of her bright red coat that had no trouble catching attention. However, today Marinette didn’t want their eyes on her.
Especially when today was one of those days.
Where everything’s falling apart and she’s the only one that could manage to put things together. Scolding herself for coming to work early, she should have called in sick or walked the other direction- anything to stop this problem from being hers. Now it was too late to shoulder off this dilemma to someone else. EVEN WHEN THIS ISN’T HER DEPARTMENT IN THE FIRST PLACE!
“Don’t call me Baby, Lorraine. Not until I see those labels up and ready.” Marinette snapped. Leaving the office a quieter place than when she found it.
———-
“You are so annoying,” LB rolled her eyes as the group of heroes gathered around her. Being the shortest one out of many was a little intimidating, but as leader of the group of superheroes, she got the most respect. Never worry about being interrupted or talked over since whenever she spoke, the crowd hushed itself. Her plans weren’t brushed to the side nor was she. A nice change if you asked her. However, as the leader of this magical squad, she had to be on guard. With more members by her side meant that the danger was something bigger and scarier each time. So this was the first time she had her whole team with her without the stress of an Akuma or giant senti-monster looming over Pairs. It was the first time she could relax around them.
So for Ladybug smiling like that made some people question what was going on.
Did the Akuma get her already?
Is this a trap?
Does she have a big announcement?
Is she retiring?
Could today be her birthday?
Chat Noir hopped off the brick wall and gracefully landed on all fours. Bouncing back up as he beams a nice cocky smile to his red ladybug.
Chat tiles his head to the side, letting his blond locks fall to his face.
“All in hopes for you to love me more, Bugaboo.”
The whole team cringed or pretended to, swooned, or rolled their eyes at that nickname. Others tried to call LB by that, only met with a confused look or a frown. All quickly learning that it was Chat Noir’s thing and Chat Noir was the only person LB would ever allow to call her by that. As tough and determined the Red Miraculous Leader, she had her weak spot -Chat Noir’s clever and sometimes cute nicknames.
Waiting for an eye-roll from the bug, only to hear her giggle.
“Well, you got something right at least.” She smiled. Turning to her team and pretending not to notice the shock on his face before explaining why she called them here today.
-----
“I have a meeting today, check over some of the marketing team’s ideas and then I’ll pick lunch on the way back. Do you need anything, Bugaboo?” The blond asked before adjusting the watch on his wrist. Quickly throwing his scarf around his neck and throwing his brown coat over his broad shoulders.
“Just drive safe.” Marinette yawned. Tired and cold as the blanket around her chest wasn’t warming her fast enough. Waiting for her coffee machine to beep with her hot cup of caffeine. Envying the man in the doorway for having so much energy in the morning.
“Always.” Adrien smiled, before kissing her forehead and walking out the door.

“Did you just kiss me?”
((reposting this because I made a few alterations. Happy (little late) New Year!!!)
“So, you think you’ll go through with it tonight?” April asked you with a smirk and an eyebrow wiggle. The two of you were heading up the elevator of the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Times Square. It was already past nightfall on New Years Eve and you were both lugging around big boxes of various fireworks to the roof, where you would later meet up with the turtles.
A warm, pink glow flashed across your cheeks as your eyes glanced to hers and then straight down to the floor. Letting out a little wry chuckle, you stammered, “I-I don’t know. I mean, all you guys are gonna be there and--” She cut you off,
“Girl,” she let out a groan, “So what? It’s New Years!” She straightened her glasses with her cheek while shrugging her shoulders. Her hands were placed in their usual spot, within the pockets of her bright yellow-green sweatshirt. “We’re literally gonna have the best seats in the city. It’ll be perfect!”
“What if he… rejects me?” You say in a joking way to help keep the mood light, but deep down that question has been burning inside you for so long.
April let out a hearty laugh, her shoulders twitching rhythmically, “Don’t be crazy. He would never.”
“But what if—” you began.
“But nothing, hon.” She cut you off, smiling, “Trust me. I know him. I know all of them. We’ve been friends since I was, what, eleven? You gon’ be just fine.”
April has known the boys for a much longer time than you have. You’ve only been friends with them for maybe a little over half a year? Maybe April did know what she was talking about… you hope.
The elevator finally came to a halt at the top floor and the both of you carried the boxes of fireworks out and down the hall to a fire escape exit. There, the two of you carefully climbed the rest of the way to the rooftop.
The crisp air hit you right away, blowing your hair out of your face and back behind you. And the lights. Wow. You never, ever seemed to get tired of this view. It was breathtaking, to say the least. An image could never entirely capture the beauty of that skyline. Billions of shimmering lights dazzled beneath you to miles ahead of you. But this, Times Square, there’s just nothing like it. Millions of people were crowded together at the base of the hotel, all clamoring, laughing, and continuously waiting for the big ball to eventually drop, marking a new year.
“Ayyeee, there’s my favorite girls!” You heard that familiar voice behind you. Turning around, you recognized the blue-clad turtle with the shit-eating grin, followed by his three brothers who were leaping up from the side of the building. Of course, Leo’s presence made a slight pink glow across your cheeks. Out of the corner of your eye you see April giving a smirk in your direction as she eyed the two of you. Leo was oblivious to the expressions between the both of you as you shot her a warning glance. The turtle’s mask tails lightly flapped in the wind as he made his way over to the boxes of fireworks.
“Ho-ho yeah! Let’s see what we got!” He rummaged through the boxes with Mikey when you heard Raph set down a large watercooler on the other side of you. He tossed you a soda in a koozie, which you gratefully accepted, and then one to April and another to Donnie. The purple-clad, who was tinkering on his bo staff to make sure the flame thrower worked, as well as the fire extinguisher, caught the soda without even glancing away from his weapon.
“How you been, Shorty?” said Raph, shutting the cooler after getting himself a soda, then using the cooler as a seat.
You answered, completely used to that nickname he had coined for you, “Great! Bit chilly, but what else is new, y’know?” You shrugged your shoulders in your big wool and polyester coat. The weather was even harsher on the roof of this building. “Still job hunting, so that’s a drag.”
“Ah, well,” said the snapping turtle, raising his soda can in your direction, “To a new year and a new job.” And everyone chimed in to repeat the phrase, wishing you good luck. An appreciative smile took a new expression upon your face as you raised your drink as well.
A short time passed and it was about seven minutes to midnight; you were mingling with Donnie and Raph about random topics. Mikey has been deejaying in the middle of the roof. You guys were sitting on the edge of the building, overlooking the crowd. You three were currently discussing where you would each like to travel and why. You could hear April howling with laughter from somewhere behind you, probably at some wise-crack Mikey or Leo made.
You kept a close eye on your phone to check the time. The closer it got to midnight, the more nerves scattered themselves inside your body. You were really trying hard to listen to Donnie explain how the pyramids of Egypt would be such a fascinating travel location because of all the myths saying that aliens created them or something, but your mind was just mostly focusing on a completely other topic. Leo.
While subconsciously nodding along to Donnie’s story, now off on some tangent about wheatfields, you were straining your ears just to hear Leo’s voice, or even his laugh, behind you. It was such an attracting sound. So sweet. Like honey attracts bees. And you, of course, were the bee. Gah, were you even going to have the balls to pull this off tonight? Every feeling inside of you was either rooting for it to happen or for you to back out and play it safe. Now normally, you weren’t a risk taker, but this was gonna be different. When that ball dropped, you were gonna change that part of yourself. This is the time to try new things, after all. Ugh. Why does this have to be so difficult?
“Yo, y/n!” Leo’s voice chimed, calling to you, “Hey, come look at what we’ve set up. D, bring your torch!”
You got up, followed by Donnie, and walked up to the other three who were gesturing to the fireworks they had laid out in such a specific pattern. Raph stayed behind to alert the rest of you when the time comes. Four minutes to midnight. The crowd’s cheering grew slightly louder as the time passed.
“Alrighty, so you got your standard Peony shells,” Mikey pointed at a few rather large firework casings, “Some Chrysanthemums, a few Willows, a Diadem, which I’m more than pumped more, your Palms, Horse Tails, and Rings. And as for the smaller stuff, we got Roman Candles, Fountains, Firecrackers, Sparklers, Smoke Bombs, and some Ground Spinners. So, I’ll definitely be the first to say, you girls hit the jackpot!”
Directly after April first bumped you proudly, Leo nudged your shoulder in an approving way. You smiled up at him, praying that he couldn’t see the blush on your face. He smiled back and you couldn’t tell if he gave you a wink or not, the moment passed too quick. Okay, two minutes to midnight.
“Aye, the ball’s about to drop.” Raph called to us, “C’mon, let’s go!”
You all made your way back over to the edge of the building, hanging your legs over the edge. You sat by Mikey, who plopped himself in between you and April, and Leo made his seat on the other side of you. Something in your heart did a tiny dance and you couldn’t help but smile. Not just about the fact that Leo was sitting next to you, but about the whole scene. Times Square, the crowd of millions of people beneath your feet, you literally dangling your feet off the edge of the rooftop of a towering hotel, your closest friends in the world by your side. Honestly, what could top this?
There it went, the chrome ball that everyone had their eyes on, slowly falling every second. The swarm of people below you started chanting, “SEVEN… SIX… FIVE… FOUR…”
You and the gang joined in, “THREE… TWO… ONE! HAPPY NEW YEAR!”
Loud cheers and screams echoed all around you. Mikey spun his flaming kusari-fundo around above his head in a celebratory twirl, making you laugh. You turned to your other side to finally do it. You were going to kiss Leo. This was it. Your body felt so light. A huge smile was across your face as you turned to face him. But before you could even act on anything, his hands were latched to your cheeks with his lips pressed against yours. Wait. He kissed you?! Immediately, Mikey said exactly what you were thinking,
“Omigosh!”
April laughed at Mikey’s reaction as you flooded out all noise around you. So, this is what it was like… kissing him. Wow. You couldn’t believe your senses. The only thing that made you pull away was a thundering BOOM that erupted above you. Once you realized it was only Donnie who had set off the first of the fireworks, you looked back to Leo who was smiling wildly at you.
You smiled back and then realization hit you a second time, “D-Did you just kiss me?”
His expression faltered a little bit. Was that disappointment in your voice? But he nodded back with a smaller smile. Your eyes lit up as another firework went off above the roof. Without warning, you practically threw yourself on him, kissing him again.
Behind you, Mikey turned to April, “Did you see—?”
April nodded in a smug fashion, “Yeah, she planned for it.”
“Pay up; he kissed her first,” said Raph, chuckling to April. He held his hand out, awaiting his prize for winning some bet he and April had set months ago. April rolled her eyes and slapped a ten dollar bill in his huge hand.
The rest of the night was spent with laughter and shimmering lights followed by booming sounds. Leo had his arm around you most of the time, when he wasn’t trying to do some reckless tricks over the fountain fireworks, of course. Mikey was trying out some moves with his kusari-fundo by trying to light multiple fireworks at once. Donnie was ready with the fire extinguisher application wired into his staff. Raph and April were having a Roman Candle fight and laughing when Leo got hit with one of the blasts. When you checked to see if he was alright, trying to stifle the laughter that was bubbling inside you, he gave you a reassuring wink and kissed you on the forehead before lighting a Roman Candle himself to chase Raph with. Was it always this easy? Why did you believe things had to be so complicated? He liked you back. After months of overthinking things, he actually liked you back. What a wonderful start to the year.

Not Quite Human - Donatello x Reader
Tumblr media
Part II can be found here --> (x)
The gentle glow of the television lit up your darkened apartment, you were wrapped up in a blanket on your couch hanging on every word of a news broadcast. Four mysterious vigilantes aided the police department in defeating the ominous alien spacecraft that threatened New York city not but a week ago. A smile crossed your lips as you entertained the idea that if aliens existed in this scenario, perhaps the vigilantes weren’t human either. Gossip flew regarding the identities of the heroes ranging from aliens to monsters, and many accounts claimed to have seen what were described as “swamp things”. A notion that delighted you, as matters of the occult and mythical creatures had always held your interest, even though you knew that none of it was real.
“Maybe I’ll see one of those swamp things,” You voiced to your empty apartment and chuckled.
Deep down within the sewer systems, a certain nerdy turtle sneezed while in the midst of having the meltdown of his life. The champions secured their victory over the Krang, and they finally had some down time, but Donatello couldn’t relax. The brainy terrapin paced back and forth in the living room of the Lair so furiously, one would think he was attempting to wear a hole in the floor. He was understandably restless, as his thoughts on what his older sibling had done whipped around in his head like a maelstrom. A memory so vivid in his mind, it felt as if it’d happened yesterday. The vial of ooze shattering against the walls of the lair, lost forever.
“How could he do this?!–Don’t answer that, it was a rhetorical question…I know Raph is a doer not a thinker,” the teched-up turtle vented his frustrations to Michelangelo, the person he often turned to for emotional support. Much like himself, his little brother was more sensitive and empathetic than their other two brothers.
“I dunno, dude…but hey, it’s not all that bad bein’ green,” the orange masked turtle smiled warmly, trying his best to comfort Donatello, as he always did. Despite his cheerful demeanor, he was hurting over the impulsive decision as well. Raphael meant no malice with his actions, he honestly had no idea what this meant to his younger siblings, but that fact didn’t make up for the outcome.
“Neither of them understand, but I know that you do, Mikey,” the fretful terrapin sighed heavily, meeting eyes with his brother. Both of the young turtles yearned to know what it felt like to be human, to be able to walk around topside without being viewed as freaks or, worse yet…monsters. With their only chance having been destroyed by an act of impulse, they were both understandably distraught.
“Yeah, I totally get it,” Mikey admitted, finally showing his disappointment with the situation. “But what can we do? The purple stuff that we had is gone now.”
Donatello’s expression fell into anguish at the veracity of his brother’s statement. “That’s true, and it’d be impossible for us to successfully secure more from the Shredder…Not just the two of us, anyway,” The bespectacled turtle’s eyes focused downwards as he finally settled down into a seat. “Also, we don’t know for sure if they have more of the formula created.”
Michelangelo’s face almost looked pained at this point, he didn’t want to think about the harsh reality of the situation for even a moment longer. He rose from the table, giving his brother one last half-hearted smile.“Well, it was a nice dream, but what-evs,” the now undeniably gloomy young terrapin patted his brother on the shell before getting up and trudging to his room.
Donatello pinched the bridge of his snout as he sat alone in the common room, despair consuming him. All he wanted was to experience what it was like to be human, and he would never get that chance now. The ooze was unsalvageable, what little remained was now still splattered across the lair walls. His golden eyes became misty as they beheld Raphael’s masterpiece, in all it’s glory. Suddenly, a bit of light reflected off a small portion of the stain, grabbing the brooding turtle’s attention. Was it really still liquid? Impossible.
Jumping to his feet, he approached the wall, inspecting it thoroughly. The ooze had somehow remained viable, his jaw dropped in disbelief. The once sorrowful terrapin’s hope was renewed, all he needed was even the smallest amount for analysis and he could find a way to replicate it. Now filled with excitement, he bounded into his lab to retrieve a petri dish and swab to collect the ooze specimen. He scraped his prize from the surface with great precision, careful not to contaminate it with too much concrete from wall upon which it was affixed. After successfully recovering a sample, Donatello let out a relishing chuckle as he shut himself away in his lab, fueled by enthusiasm and determination.
In the months following the start of his endeavor, he lied about the specifics of it, telling his brothers that he was working on some amazing invention that would aid them in their missions. It was obvious that he couldn’t tell Leonardo or Raphael, as they clearly didn’t understand. And after much debate, he finally came to the decision to leave Michelangelo in the dark as well, not wanting to get his hopes up; that, and he was awful at keeping secrets. The genius worked tirelessly, months rolled by, and before he knew it, a year had passed. He felt as though he wasn’t accomplishing anything, becoming increasingly frustrated with each passing day.
It was 5:00 a.m. when a sleep deprived and starving Donatello stumbled out of his lab in pursuit of sustenance. He wore his purple mask as a necklace and groaned with every step that he took towards to the kitchen. Once there, he made a bee line for the coffee pot, his savior. Raphael had just finished his early morning workout and spotted the elusive mad scientist, stalking him into the kitchen.
“Whaddaya doin’ outta yer geek den?” the question came in the form of a growl as the burly terrapin eyed his younger sibling, who simply responded by shooting a glare in his general direction.
Choosing to ignore him, Donatello simply continued setting up his coffee, clicking the appliance on to work it’s magic, and then reached into one of the cabinets, to retrieve a box of blueberry flavored Pop-Tarts.
“Whut eva…” the hot-headed turtle’s words trailed off as if he had more to say, but he stopped himself; this silence was fleeting, however. As always, he just couldn’t let sleeping dogs lie, so he started again,“Ya know…when I got a problem wit someone I tell ‘em, but I guess I’m just bawlsier than most.” the bait was set, and he waited for his younger brother to take it. The troublemaker used this tactic with frequent success, but Donatello was in no mood for his shenanigans, and the mechanical sputter of the busy coffee pot was the only thing to be heard between the two turtles.
The still sleepy terrapin proceeded to pour his coffee, and munch on his breakfast, letting Raphael stand there and simmer. When it became apparent that he the he no interest in talking, the rageful reptile’s temper went through the roof. “FINE. I thought so! Avoidin’ any sawt of conflict like usual! Enjoy yer cawffee break.” He stormed out of the room grumbling.
“Conflict…” He muttered to himself as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes, the word turning over and over in his head before he had a sudden realization. “That’s…that’s it!!!” He exclaimed, rushing from the kitchen with his coffee mug in one hand, and half-eaten Pop-Tart in the other. The genius sped past Raphael, rattling off scientific terms to himself like a mad man. When he reached his lab, he turned and stopped to stare down his brother before grinning wide and slamming the doors shut.
“DONNIIIIIIE!!!” Raphael roared, racing up to the large laboratory doors and thrusting his fists into them. The doors showed no signs of permitting entry from the assault, but he did leave a significant dent.
*****************************
Across the city, you ran down the darkened streets dressed in a lab coat and business casual. You were late for work, but chose the sweet relief of alertness over punctuality, as you quickly slipped into a small coffee shop to grab a cup. And today, you needed that extra boost of energy more than any other. After securing your liquid adrenaline, you happily headed to work, not needing to walk far. You approached the gigantic facility that was TCRI, and walked inside. As always, you held up your credentials to the guards at the desk, who permitted entry, and touched your badge to an electronic pad which then granted you access through secure titanium doors.
Doing your best to stifle the overwhelming stress that all but consumed you as of late, you drew in a deep breath and went about your normal routine at the laboratory. As the day wound down to a close, you prepared to carry out the mission you had been given. It was now late into the night, and all of your colleagues had long since left for the day.
You remained, working on the latest project involving nano technology as a form of biological warfare. Subtly sabotaging the efforts of the project; in good conscience, you couldn’t allow it to be successful. The very idea of implementing this abhorrent tactic made you cringe, but you did what needed to be done in order to carry out a far more important assignment, retrieving a vial of Dr. Stockman’s highly sought after genetic modification formula. Tonight, you would secure a sample to bring back to your actual employer.
The security guards weren’t even a bother, all you needed was a little bit of Nitrous Oxide to temporarily take care of them. Slipping silently into the main laboratory, you did a quick survey of your surroundings before proceeding. Having already knocked out the security cameras, and programmed them to show previously recorded footage, you were not concerned. Knowing exactly where it was kept, you located the ooze and tucked the vial into your pants pocket posthaste.
“Y/N?” Instantly recognizing that voice, you turned to see one of the head geneticists, Sampson, steadily approaching you from across the room.
“Hello, Sampson.” You greeted your colleague tactfully, showing not even an ounce of lost composure from his unanticipated presence.
“Why are you in here? This isn’t your working sector.” He inquired through narrowed eyes, all the while analyzing you skeptically.
“Doreen asked for my assistance with the centrifugation of subjects 2201XJ8 and 2243XW9.” You had glanced briefly at the recent project files earlier in the day to prepare yourself for just this type of scenario.
“That’s odd…2201XJ8 and 2243XW9 were contaminated and, thus, thrown away several hours ago…” suspicion piqued, he advanced towards you quicker than you could react. Attempts to flee came too late, and he managed to grab hold of your collar. Swiftly wriggling out of your lab coat, you gained freedom from his grasp. Thinking on your feet, you hit the conveniently placed bright red lock down button and slid underneath the door, trapping your coworker inside. Something told you that you weren’t the first person to do that.
Sampson wasted no time dialing a contact in his phone as he watched you escape, “Yes…Hello, I heard that your gang will do pretty much anything for the right price…I have a job for you.” He knew full well that he couldn’t enlist the foot ninjas for assistance, admitting his incompetence to the Shredder was a fate worse than death. Completing the transaction with his hired thugs, he smiled deviously as they confirmed their pursuit of you. The sunrise met your eyes as you fled the building, taking off down the street knowing that you weren’t out of the woods just yet.
*********************************
It had been over a year since Donatello began his quest for the ooze, and now the culmination of his hard work was finally coming to fruition. And in all irony of ironies he, partially, had Raphael to thank for it. The purple liquid bubbled within the beaker that housed it, begging to be tested, and the genius just couldn’t resist. He carried on like a kid who received the keys to a candy store.
Unfortunately, he couldn’t test it right away, what with his brothers in the lair. With all of them present, it would be impossible for him to slip out in his human form unseen. So he waited. Several days later, the police scanner picked up a report of foot clan activity, and Leonardo called his brothers together to discuss plans to investigate. Donatello smooth talked his way out of going, claiming he was close to a breakthrough in his research, which wasn’t a complete lie. He simply neglected to mention that it pertained to the purple ooze.
With his brothers out chasing the foot, the brainy terrapin had the lair to himself, at long last! Well, with the exception of Master Splinter, but sneaking past him was a non-issue. Donatello was beaming as he peered into the vessel that contained his scientific masterpiece, just one sip should be enough…He knew that the effects of his synthetic ooze would be temporary, a purposeful attribute given to it by him, it’s creator. All the purple clad turtle wanted to do was experience what is was like to be human. If, following the testing phase, he felt as though he was meant to be that way, he’d later rework the formula to be permanent. That, however, was a venture for another day, now was the time for experimentation.
Shutting his eyes tight, he drank from the vial. After waiting for a moment, he opened them, unsure of when it would take effect. Suddenly, his muscles began to ache, as a tense feeling surged throughout his body. He watched his fingers divided from three to five on each hand, just as he’d witnessed when he tested the formula previously. Gradually, his skin changed from green to a pale peach and his scales smoothed out into soft flesh. The excited lad tripped over himself while rushing into his bathroom, wanting to watch in the mirror as the transformation unfolded.
Donatello stared back at himself in awe, he had ears! The oversized tortoise shell glasses he always wore slipped down his face more than usual as his snout took the shape of a much smaller, yet still prominent, human nose. Freckles dusted across his pale cheeks and shoulders as wavy raven black hair cascaded down from his head, delicately framing his face and stopping just a few inches past his jawline. He was so distracted by his new facial features that he didn’t even notice his shell had disappeared.
Once the metamorphosis was complete, the triumphant brainiac threw his head back, and laughed like an evil genius. A slight reduction in body mass occurred during his shift in form, not enough to be discernible to the naked eye, however, it was enough to cause his pants to lose their grip on his hips. The villainous laughter was interrupted when his bottoms proceeded to slip from his slender human waist, and he grabbed his Millennium Falcon patterned boxers before those followed suit.
“Oh no…what am I supposed to do? I can’t go topside in the nude.” to remedy his immediate and unexpected need for human clothing, he turned to Michelangelo’s room. That pack-rat of a turtle collected mundane artifacts as if they were valuable treasures to be hoarded, surely he’d be able to find something usable in that mess. Donatello entered the room, piles upon piles of clothing, unusable electronics, and other clutter filled it, along with several empty boxes of pizza. He scrunched his nose at the effluvia that hung in the air, his little brother somehow managed to make his particular corner of the sewer smell even fouler.
Holding his breath, the nerdy young man randomly chose one of the many mounds of oddments and rummaged through it. After some digging, he managed to find one black muscle tee that read “Rad Dude” in a trendy red colored font, a pair of very worn black converse shoes, and a pair of denim jeans, ripped at the knees. The best article of clothing he’d found in the stash being a flannel shirt in various shades of purple. Having no time to be picky, the thief made off with what he’d found.
While returning to his laboratory to get changed, the turtle turned human was nearly knocked out by the putrid clothing that he held in his arms. This was unacceptable, there was no way he was going to wear something that smelled worse than a sewer, he needed to wash the garments before he ventured to the surface. Stepping into the seldom used laundry room, Donatello flicked on the lights and blew the dust from the old machines. As he reached for detergent, he wondered if they even still worked. Tossing the clothing and soap into the washer, he turned it on to find, much to his surprise, that it was still fully functioning.
Now needing to wait for his clothing to go through the entire washing and drying process, the impatient turtle fidgeted in frustration at the unexpected delay. Coming to terms with his predicament, he passed the time by logging the alterations that occurred during his shift in form, to ensure he had enough information to further his research on the ooze’s effects. Making quick work of his notes, he then switched the laundry to the dryer. The waiting game began anew and he swiftly found himself consumed by boredom once more. He wondered what else he could do to fully immerse himself in the human experience.
Thinking about how atrocious his clothing smelled, and worried the washing may not fully rid the garments of their stench, he decided to create a fragrance. Knowing full well that humans often wore scents to conceal smells, but also for the purpose of attracting potential partners. Donatello scoffed at the thought, the likelihood of him finding another person who shared mutual interest during the, more than likely short, duration of his experiment was slim at best.
As if he were concocting a a witches brew, the bespectacled lad swirled together various scents into one of his unused beakers. In no time at all, he had a cologne with top notes of orange blossom and vanilla, middle hints of almond, and a musky base. More than satisfied with his Eau de Don, he dabbed it on gleefully.
All the sudden, a clatter came from the living room, and the sound of his brothers voices could be heard. Donatello’s smile dropped, there was no way they’d already returned from their mission, it felt as though they’d just left. The digital clock on one of his many computers proved him wrong, it was already 4:00am! He’d gotten so carried away in preparation for his excursion topside, that he paid no attention to how quickly the hours flew by.
Thankfully, the time spent wasn’t a complete waste, he documented when he administered the ooze and was tracking the duration of it’s effectiveness. Exactly eight hours had elapsed, and he was still human. Quite an impressive lasting ability, he thought, giving himself a congratulatory pat on the back. Unfortunately, with his brothers now home, he was effectively trapped in his laboratory for the time being. He couldn’t just saunter out of his lab looking the way he did, what a spectacle that would be.
“Looks like I have another sleepless night, er…well, day at this point.” He chuckled to himself, slumping back in his computer chair. It took two more hours before the potency of the ooze came to an end. The reversion from human to mutant being, unsurprisingly, more painful than the obverse. Now returned to his old turtle self, the purple masked ninja ventured out into the common room, only to find his brothers passed out on the couch and the floor. He stifled a laugh, turning on his heel back into his laboratory. Seizing this opportunity, he wasted no time administering himself more ooze and stealing up and away to the surface.
Wintry weather was drawing to a close, and a slight warmth danced on the breeze as spring began to move in. The mutant in human’s clothing relished in the glow of the sun, something he didn’t have the privilege of doing often. Strolling down the street like Toby McGuire in Spiderman, Donatello was smiling from ear to ear. He was topside in broad daylight and not a soul took notice of him, he couldn’t believe it, it almost felt like a dream.
Not paying attention to where he was going, the happy go lucky lad found himself lost in a more secluded side of town. Sure, he could easily navigate New York at night, but the city looked so different during the daytime. Suddenly, a cry of distress shattered his concentration. It came from somewhere nearby. Instinctively, the ninja rushed in the direction from which the voice originated.
The shouts led him to an alleyway where two rough looking men circled around you, your hands poised to fight, but subtle shuddering alluded to hesitancy and fear. They were both very muscle bound, one slightly smaller than the other, with distinct purple dragon tattoos on their arms. When Donatello approached, they immediately took notice of his presence.
“What’s going on here?” He demanded a response from the ne'er-do-wells, despite knowing the answer.
“Get outta here, four eyes.” the smaller thug scoffed, “You see, this little rat has something that we want.” and the larger man chimed in, “So, it’d be in your best interest if you left us to our business.”
“I’m not going anywhere.” Donatello stood his ground, “It’d be in your best interest if you left them alone.” He then assumed a fighting stance.
The brawnier of the two men eyed the brave young man and laughed incredulously. “And just what exactly are you going to do to stop us, little man?”
To which Donatello replied, “Looks can be deceiving.” aside from having a height advantage, there was no denying that the thugs had significant size over him. They were far more massive compared to his still muscular, yet lithe, build. Finally acknowledging their potential threat, the two men advanced towards their new target, leaving their prey behind.
The stranger turned hero locked eyes with you, “Run, you have to get out of here, it’s not safe!” an exclamation that was cut short by the smaller thug, who came rushing at him, brandishing a knife. With keen reflexes, Donatello deflected the attack, kicking upwards at just the right moment to send the knife whipping over his assailant’s shoulder. Once you’d seen that maneuver, there was no way you were about to leave. You were far too intrigued by this ridiculously tall young man with undeniably amazing fighting skills, you yearned to learn more.
“Alright, mister fancy feet, it’s time to dance.” the larger man jested as he cracked is fists, fitting brass knuckles onto them. Donatello scanned the area and grabbed a nearby pipe from the dumpster, twirling it through the air, just as he would his bow staff. If there’s one thing his father taught him, it was that anything can be used as a weapon if wielded properly.
“Haha, look at this, I guess dance class is over, and now it’s time for baton practi–” using the metal pipe, Donatello knocked the wind out of the hulking hoodlum before he could even finish his taunt, sending him flying backwards into a pile of garbage.
“I suppose I can strike ‘taking out the trash’ from my list of chores.” Donatello snorted at his own one-liner and his gaze happened upon you, as you watched with wonder. A smile played across your lips, and you laughed at his witticism, waving to him. The suddenly flustered hero awkwardly waved back.
The knife wielding thug recovered his weapon, catching Donatello off-guard as he flirted with you, slipping the knife to his throat from behind. The thug was unsuccessful in his attempt, however, when the captive drove his heel into the man’s foot, causing him to release the knife. While his assailant was distracted, he reached both arms around, heaved the man over his shoulder, and back dropped him onto the hard pavement. There was no recovering from that attack anytime soon. He then shifted his stance to face the other foe, who had since recuperated from the previous assault. The behemoth barreled towards him like a charging rhinoceros.
“Bad move, I know exactly how to deal with this.” Donatello smirked as he anchored himself with the pipe, and delivered a swift low kick to the thug’s ankles, causing him to topple to the ground. Confident that he had both enemies disabled, your victorious rescuer turned his attention to you.
“Are you alright?” the lanky lad inquired as he sprinted to your side, adrenaline still pumping from the fight. He failed to stop soon enough, resulting in him accidentally knocking you against one of the brick walls in the alleyway. The two of you were nose-to-nose, so close that you could feel each other’s breath. His towering form would have been intimidating, if not for the goofy smile on his face.
“Aaah, oh my god, I am so sorry!” He promptly leapt back, “You didn’t need that on top of what you’ve already been through today. I am really, really sorry, I’m such a klutz.” He apologized profusely, running his fingers through his purple tinged black hair, refusing to meet your gaze.
“Jeeze, that was like something straight out of a cheesy rom-com.” You jested, in an attempt to ease his nerves.
Not the reaction that he was expecting, the nervous hero let out a sigh of relief. “Y-yeah, I suppose that it was, wasn’t it?” He stuttered, still a bit anxious, but less so thanks to your funny observation.
“And you’re certainly no klutz, I saw the way you fought off those goons, you’re incredible! How’d you learn to fight like that?” You asked him, eyes filled with amazement and genuine curiosity.
“Well, my father taught me, along with my brothers…” Donatello replied flatly, in an attempt not to appear worked up by your compliment, for fear that he’d make a fool of himself further. Butterflies were forming in his chest, he’d never spoken to another person so close to his age, aside from April and Casey.
Unfortunately for him, you were eager to learn more about your happenstance hero, and before he knew it, he was being quizzed rapid-fire. “Oh, you have brothers? How many?” and with barely a breath in between, you rattled off more questions. “What are their names? What’s yours?”
“Uuuh…three…Leonardo, Raphael, and Michelangelo…And I’m--my names Donatello.”
“Well, it’s nice to meet you, Donatello. My name is Y/N! What interesting names…are your parents big fans of Italian Renaissance artists?” You looked to him, eyes wide with curiosity.
“Okay, stop. STOP. I don’t recall agreeing to a game of 21 questions!” He put an end to your onslaught of inquiries.
Enthusiasm quashed, you backed off, smiling at him sheepishly. Though it wasn’t long before you bounced back, and with one hand on your hip and the other pointing at Donatello, you offered a proposal. “Alright, then…Would you like to play 21 questions?” Your eyes flickering with anticipation, the same kind of unrelenting determination he frequently saw in his brother, Mikey.
From experience with this personality type, Donatello knew it would be easier to simply humor you rather than try to get out of it. He was absolutely baffled by you, your intentions were unclear, and he was not certain that you were someone he could trust. Regardless, he reluctantly agreed to engage in your game.
“I’m so sorry for that…sometimes I get a bit carried away. I enjoy meeting new people and learning about what factors lead to making that person into who they are.” You grinned, playfully kicking up your feet as you strolled down the street together. It was obvious that Donatello was trying to keep his distance, as the space between the two of you was fairly significant, to the point where it appeared as if you were walking separately. “You don’t trust me, do you?” He cursed at how perceptive you were.
“Well, to be honest, no…not really. We’ve only just met.” He stated simply, his eyes scanning you up and down with suspicion. There was a long silence before you broke it with another question.
“How tall are you?” He was amused by the obvious question and quickly answered, “6'6”“
“You must garner a lot of attention walking down the street.” a comment that threw him into a fit of laughter as he thought about what he actually looked like. If only you knew how little he drew attention this way compared to if he strutted down the street in his real form.
“What? HA! Me? No way. Now if I were–” Donatello clammed up, he nearly outed himself  to human that he’d just met. As if you’d ever believe him, but still…there was just something about you, you were easy to talk to. He laughed again at the thought before continuing, “Uuuh, so, you said that you have a dog, right?” He attempted to redirect your attention by also engaging in the game with his own inquiry.
“What was that? You just trailed off mid-sentence.” an attempt to no avail, you demanded a reason for his inexplicable change of subject. “And…I don’t remember telling you that I have a dog.” in that moment, roles reversed, and you were the one suspicious of him.
Another misstep, this was very out of character for Donatello; and for the first time in a while, he felt vulnerable. After some quick reflection, he realized that he’d picked up on the dog’s scent during your accidental close encounter in the alley earlier. Though his nose appeared human, his senses themselves, remained as sharp as they’d always been.
“Are you a stalker?” You questioned him bluntly.
“What? No, I’m not stalking you, I promise.”
The sincerity of his answer confirmed your speculation to be false.“Alright…but I’m watching you!” You narrowed your eyes at him.
“Who’s the stalker now?” the charming young man shot you a cheesy grin upon delivering his terrible joke. You stuck your tongue out at him, and he chuckled. A sudden breeze whipped up, startling the two of you. Even though the winter weather had mostly gone, a slight chill remained in the air. You shivered reflexively, realizing that you had sacrificed your coat amidst the chaos of escaping from Dr. Stockman’s laboratory.
Donatello immediately noticed your discomfort and removed his flannel over-shirt, giving it to you with a warm smile. His cold blooded innards were not happy with his choice to shed clothing, and he was unable to disguise his own trembling reaction to the cold as he handed you his shirt. Without saying a word, you reached out a shaky hand and took it. While you were putting it on, a blush crossed you face for just a moment, as his scent wafted up from the clothing.
“Thanks.” the pleasantry was all that you could muster for words as you fought hard to stave off your rosiness.
“Purple looks good on you.” that sweet compliment pushed you over the edge, and your face flushed completely red as you turned away from him.
“Y/N…Are you alri–” His sentence was brought to a halt as an all too familiar feeling hit him abruptly, indicating that the ooze’s potency was waning. Aware that his time as a human was now limited, he took a queue from his older brother, Raphael, and acted on instinct. The distressed young man proceeded to back away slowly before breaking out into a full sprint. With your back turned, you were none the wiser. Feeling suddenly alone, you finally turned to find that your escort had vanished, leaving only his flannel shirt to remember him by.
…to be continued.

The (fucking incomplete but totally awesome) First Chapter of the Shards Fic!!
basically i’m stuck but i also want to share so yall can read and comment and tell me what yall think about it! Ideas, thoughts, whatever you wanna leave, i need it oof
Leo gazes out over the city in silence. His perch on top of the building is ideal, he gets an excellent view from up here. He can see everything, it seems. Mystic City is rarely quiet at night, and this evening is no different. Yokai walk to and fro below, rushing off to places Leo can only wonder about. And wonder he does. A striped tail swishes back and forth slowly as his eyes follow a man in a worn-looking suit. The man must be going home, the slider realizes.
He wonders if the man is eager to do so.
Leo has come to despise heading home. He loves his family, the one he grew up with and the one comprised of the new people in his life. But ever since Donnie turned on them, going home has become more difficult than he'd like to admit to.
The mere thought of his twin makes his fists clench and his heart twist sharply. He refuses to relive that night in his head, not now, but even then he can't stop the mental image of his purple-clad brother from coming to mind; the anger and hurt in Donnie's eyes still send a shiver down Leo's spine. The slider closes his eyes and forces himself to think about the city, the sounds below him. When he opens them again Donnie’s face is gone from his mind, and he lets out a deep breath. He can't afford to think about his traitor of a brother right now.
The slider calms himself before putting his Ōdachi in its sheath and hopping down easily from the rooftop. He doesn't have time for reminiscing on painful memories. He's supposed to be working.
If this was the human city, he could have been considered reckless for acting as a vigilante. But this is the yokai's city. Leon knows he's being downright stupid.
Leon has too many enemies in high places here, too much at stake to dare show his face in this place. That's why he covers himself with the mask of Night Rogue (he really needs to work on his moniker). He isn't Leonardo, not right now. And that's okay because sometimes, being Leonardo was hard.
Much harder than being a vigilante in a city out to hunt him down.
It's been a mostly quiet patrol tonight, he'd only had to step into a situation once. Part of him is tempted to leave Mystic City for the night and slink around New York until the sun came up.
He reaches the ground gracefully, his feet hitting the asphalt in absolute silence. Hazel eyes scan the area quickly in search of anything out of the ordinary. Two yokai lurk just near the opening of the alley, their faces obscured by the darkness. One of them has horns, he notices- likely a goat of some sort, he assumes. Leon tenses, prepares just in case. A woman passes by and one of the creeps moves after her with lightning speed. Moments after, a sharp yell of protest reached his ears. Leon's lip curls up slightly.
It looked like his patrol would be worthwhile after all.
The woman writhes and struggles against her attacker, attempting to use her antlers as a defense mechanism. While the one holds her, the horned one leans in close and appears to tell her something. She responds with a snarl and a particularly loud “oh, go fuck yourself.”
Leon likes her already.
His movements are quick and quiet as the slider moves in, Ōdachi in hand once again. He clears his throat as he steps into their view.
“Now, that doesn't seem like the right way to speak to a lady,” he chides, clicking his tongue. The one who'd been talking to the girl turns to face Leon with a sneer. He'd been right; this one's a goat, his partner looks like a dog of some sort.
“And this doesn't seem like your business, so fuck off before you get yourself hurt,” the goat snaps. Leon leans on his sword nonchalantly.
“I don't like asking twice. Leave her alone and no one gets hurt.” The dog yokai twists the woman's arm behind her back, forcing her to hiss out in pain. Leon's reaction is immediate. His foot connects with the goat's chest, knocking him back before focusing on the dog, Ōdachi at the ready. The deer yokai in his grasp manages to whack her attacker in the face with her antlers, and Leon can't help but grin under his mask at the surprised shout the other gave. "Listen, Bambi here doesn't seem to be the kind of girl you want to mess with, so why don't you be a good dog and let her go?"
"Bambi?" she repeats incredulously, pausing in her struggle to give him a look. Then her brown eyes are going wide. "Hey, look out!" Leon almost turns to see what she's warning him about, but before he gets the chance he's yelping in pain, clutching at the new gash in his arm. Behind him, the goat grins cruelly, a bloodied blade in hand. Leon snarls.
"You fucking bastard."
"Well, if it ain't the kettle calling the pot black," the goat retorts. Leon lunges forward, the silver of his blade slicing through the air in a flash. It barely catches the goat, but he's satisfied with the small amount of blood he's drawn. His original purpose temporarily forgotten, the slider goes in for another attack, and another, none of them particularly neat but unrivaled in their ferociousity. His next move is a kick, followed by another, and he goes for another attack with the sword, but the goat grabs Leon by the belt and yanks him down, the Ōdachi slipping from his hand in the process. The goat recovers from the shock of the fall first and scrambles to his feet, grabbing the discarded sword as he does. Leon's up moments after, preparing to block an attack, but a loud clang sounds out before the goat gets a chance, and a moment later he's knocked out on the concrete.
The turtle looks from the unconscious figure to the deer now standing in front of him, a metal pipe in her hand. Behind her, Leon notices, the dog yokai is knocked out as well.
"You're, uh, handy with a pipe." He smiles sheepishly under his mask. The deer shakes her head, rolling her eyes as she drops the pipe.
"For a vigilante, you're not particularly good at getting people out of a tough spot," she comments. Leon rubs the back of his neck.
"I'm new at this."
"No you aren't, we've been hearing about you for years. Night Rogue, right?" She scoops up his Ōdachi and hands it over, a frown settling on her face. "Hey, you tried at least. Let me repay you. That gash doesn't look pretty." Leon raised a brow.
"You ever seen a wound that looked pretty?" he questions, taking the Ōdachi back. She doesn't answer, pulling the scarf from around her neck and moving to Leon's side. It makes for a good temporary bandage, and she looks fairly pleased with her handiwork.
"That'll hold it for now. Come on, I'll clean it for you." Her hand wraps around his wrist and before he can protest she's leading him further back into the alley, towards the steps of a fire escape. "You're lucky those goons decided to pull that little stunt next to my apartment, but we are gonna have to do a little climbing." She's starting up the stairs with ease, and Leon hesitates. He should go home and treat the injury on his own. He follows her anyway, because in all truthfulness he hates patching up his own cuts.
"Did you know those guys?" he asks as they go.
"Yeah, they work for my mom." Leon stops again.
"Hang on, they work for your mother?" A level above him already, a head of wild curls peek down at him.
"My mom and I aren't on good terms. She sends someone to harass me every now and again." The slider opens his mouth curiously, decides it's not his place to ask any questions, and closes it again. She answers his unasked question anyway, grinning like it's no big deal. "She's a demon, and a damn strong one at that. But I'm a pacifist like my dad and she wants to change that. It's not working." With that, her head disappears and she's walking again. Leon blinks.
"Wait, you're a demon? I thought you were a deer!" He clambers up the stairs after her and comes to a halt beside her as she opens a window. Her face carries a look of amusement as she glances at him.
"I am, on my dad's side. But I am half-demon which means those guys really couldn't have done me any harm. It was very brave of you to hop in anyway." She smiles and pats his shoulder before slipping into the apartment. When she turns to face him again she's trying to look menacing, but it isn't quite working. "That also means I could definitely obliterate you if I wanted to. But you seem like a chill dude, so you're safe. For now." He's glad he's got the mask on so she can't see the amused grin on his face.
"I'll keep that in mind, o powerful demon lady," he chuckles, following her into the apartment.
"It's Liza," she corrects. "Now pick a chair and sit, I'm gonna grab some supplies." Leon does as he's told, managing to slip off the jacket he'd had on so she could work easier. The mask, he decides, stays on for now. She's back minutes later, arms full of first aid equipment. "I won't lie, this is most likely gonna hurt." She looks a little guilty as she speaks, and Leon gives her a soft look.
"I can take it. Let's get this over with."

Weeks 4 & 5 (oops!) - Milan and Naples
Time goes by crazy fast here, and I accidentally skipped a week of blogging! So here are two weeks compiled into one post.
Last weekend, I went to Milan with Lina. I absolutely loved the city; it was a combination of Rome and New York, so I felt at home with the hint of modern, American culture, but still felt like I was in Italy! Of course, I adored the fashion capital and loved strolling past countless designer stores (not going in them of course, since I have the budget of a college student :( maybe next time..). Our first stop in Milan was the Leonardo da Vinci Museum of Science and Technology. It turns out that I really had no idea who Leonardo da Vinci was (oops), but it was an absolutely fascinating museum! It was so interactive, and Lina and I ran around like children trying out all the different games and simulations in each exhibit. Afterwards, we settled into our AirBnb, did some sightseeing, and some shopping, of course. That night was Valentine’s, so we went out for a romantic dinner by the canal and got drinks. The next day, we went to the Duomo, which was absolutely breathtaking. Hands-down one of the most amazing things I have ever seen in my life; I could’ve stared at it for hours.
While at the Duomo, we experienced our first scam. The piazza was filled with hundreds of pigeons, and a man offered to take our picture with some of the pigeons. Knowing that many people here try to trick you into paying for things, we politely declined. Then, he said it would just be 3 euro for a photo, so Lina convinced me to do it (please note that it was not my idea!). He ended up turning it into a photoshoot, telling us to do different poses, and taking 26 photos. Afterwards, he just walked up to us and said “81 euros please!” Turns out, it was 3 euro PER photo, but we only asked for one! We fought with him for a good fifteen minutes. I thought about running, but there was a pretty big group of his scammer friends surrounding us. Once he started to get angry and a little aggressive, we gave him a final offer of 30 euro total. We handed him the money and ran away ashamed and embarrassed since the whole fiasco happened in front of thousands of people. Check out the photos that we got, which I posted on the blog and Facebook (as you can see, I was petrified and very grossed out by the pigeons). We decided to save the Duomo for another day (bad memories, ya know?), and explore other parts of Milan. We took a bus tour and spent the afternoon looking at different parts of the city.
The next day, we tried the Duomo again, with no scams this time! We entered the cathedral first, which was incredibly moving. I was almost brought to tears as soon as I got inside. I can’t explain what exactly connected with me so much, but I definitely felt God in that church. I lit a candle for my late Grandpa Joe, honoring a beautiful person inside the most beautiful church I have ever entered. We climbed to the top of the Duomo, which was a dream. I felt like I was in a castle! Afterwards, we went to a cocktail bar overlooking the Duomo, and got drinks made by a robot. Then, we headed home on our overnight bus and got ready for another week of class!
This week, I discovered the beauty of alone time. Although I usually love being around others 24/7, this experience has been a lot to process and appreciate without a quiet moment to sit and think (also why I’m always so bad at keeping up with my blog!). I pushed myself to take a few afternoons to myself and sat by the Colosseum and journaled. Taking time to come back to myself made a huge difference in my whole perspective and attitude for the rest of the week!
On Friday, we embarked on a class excursion (basically a weekend field trip!) to Naples. I went with my International Finance class, and we were paired with the Food Studies class. The professors that took us are childhood best friends and grew up in Naples, so they were super knowledgeable and enthusiastic about everything there. Also, since we went with a food class, we got to eat awesome food all weekend! We stayed in a hostel, which turned out to be like a 5-star hotel. There was even a jacuzzi! I befriended a few Italian girls in my class a few weeks ago, so Lina and I stayed in a room with them. I love hanging out with them and getting to talk about our different cultures. First, we went to a castle, which had amazing views of Naples. We took a very long walk throughout the neighborhoods to get a feel for the area. Then, we had a dinner in a traditional Napolean house, where street performers came and taught us some traditional songs and dances. It was odd at first, but once everyone dug into the bottomless wine, we really enjoyed ourselves! Then, we got free time, which we spent getting to know the Italian girls and some other people in our program. Afterwards, we went to a really nice dinner, where we had delicious Naploean pizza! We explored the nightlife and had lots of fun dancing the night away with our friends!
The next morning, we visited two farms. The first one was pretty boring (it was a social cooperative), but the second one was AMAZING. We were greeted by a huge lunch that was sooo delicious. This farm was a buffalo farm, so we got to walk around, learn about Bufala Mozzarella (a very famous cheese in Italy), and feed the buffaloes!! I had the time of my life bonding with the buffaloes. After they saw me kissing and hugging the buffaloes, everyone in the program told me AGAIN that I should be a farm girl! Little do they know, I am far from that! Lastly, we stopped at a winery, got to learn about the winemaking process, and got to sample some of the wine. We headed home and I jumped right in bed for an early night. The weekend was SO fun, but it was exhausting!
On Sunday, I went to the zoo in Rome with Lina and Sam, another one of my roommates. If you know me, you know that I absolutely love zoos, so this was a great day for me. We spent probably an hour just watching monkeys and got to see some turtles “making love” in front of an audience of children, which was hilarious.
The past two weeks here have been amazing. I definitely feel at home in Rome now, but have been SO busy! Schoolwork has been the last thing on my mind, which is also unnatural for me, so I need to go catch up on the past three weeks of work that I haven’t started! Oops.. Thanks for reading about my travels if you are still reading all of this! See you next week!

Grid Ghost Chapter 6: Person of Interest
“Time?”
“At the two hour mark.”
“Good. All going smoothly.”
Kim narrowed her eyes as she focused on the visual she had of the tumor.
“Vitals?” she asked.
“Stable.” Takashi answered.
“Alright… beginning extraction.”
Kim worked her tools with grace, cutting as gently as she could into the membrane of the tumor without causing harm to the brain matter it clung to.
Eboni watched the process that was being displayed on a monitor through a camera that was attached to one of the tools. She grimaced a bit at some parts but still couldn’t help but watch.
“I don’t understand how you guys can stomach all this.” Eboni shudder. “Guuuh that thing looks like it's moving.”
“Well, to a degree tumors do have some life to them.” Takashi commented.
“It’s just really warped and parasitic.” Shaylin added, focusing on handing Kim the tools she needed as she went on with the process.
“Considering how tumors are formed, that’s basically it.” Kim clipped more at the membrane.
“Still, bravo to you guys.”
Things went quiet, everyone wanting Kim to be able to focus on her task. The only sounds that could be heard were the beeping of the monitors around them and the movement of Kim’s tools.
After a few minutes, the moment of truth arrived.
“Forceps.”
Shaylin handed Kim the tool, immediately getting a tray ready after doing so.
Kim held her breath as she reached in, gripping tightly at a piece of the tumor.
I cut it into 3 sections. Each should be small enough to fit through the incision area and not tear at any grey matter.
With a gentle and smooth pull, the first piece came out… then the second… and then the third.
Kim finally took a breath as the last piece came out, putting it into the tray.
“Extraction complete. Vitals?”
“Stable.” Shaylin smiled. “Good work, Kim.”
Kim nodded, smiling behind her mask, looking at Obake’s face.
We’re not done yet but… I finally did it Bob. I finally fixed you.
Kim composed herself, grabbing up her tools.
“Alright, I’ll close up my area then Shaylin and Eboni can start work on the implant.”
Eboni saluted.
“I shall prepare my tools.”
Kim nodded, getting to work.
“This… is going to be interesting.”
And I just pray things go smoothly.
oooooo
Trina did her best to keep out of sight as she patrolled around the hospital. There weren’t too many shaded areas for her to hide in thanks to the afternoon light of the sun so she had to settle for hiding around corners, ambulances, cars or whatever else she could use for cover. At the moment, her hiding spot was on the roof. It allowed her a good view and she could easily hide behind the ventilation system fans.
So far, it had been a quiet morning and afternoon. Nothing suspicious, just the usual sites for a hospital… least, this hospital.
That one sucker really should’ve stayed out of Maria’s way. Everyone knows ya don’t mess with that hot head of a paramedic. Made for an interesting watch though… probably more than it should’ve.
Trina shrugged, turning her attention back to the hospital surroundings.
And here comes Dr. Vaughn and Dr. Blaylock… Yeesh, he looks like he hasn’t slept in hours with Dr. Blaylock tugging him along like that. Should he even be coming in today?
And there’s Dr. Cunningham kissing his wife goodbye before heading in. Cute.
And there’s Dr. Muller trying to pry his daughter off his leg again so he can get to work. Dude, just walk in with her. She’ll let go eventually- Ah there ya go. Nicely done sir. Besides, she’s your cute little duckling. Why would you deny her that?
Thud thud thud!
Trina turned head towards the sound, chuckling at seeing what was causing it.
And here comes the big guy that is Dr. Freebird. Late as usual. Wonder what kept him?
“Hey! Watch it!”
Trina’s head snapped towards the sound. Maria had been cut off by someone who was making a beeline for the hospital front entrance. Trina narrowed her eyes at this, taking in what she could of the person.
It was a woman that had long sandy blond hair that was pulled back into a tight ponytail and piercing green eyes. They had a labcoat on and wore a black and green turtleneck with dark colored slacks.
That’s definitely not one of ours and last I checked, we weren’t hiring.
Trina quickly made her way down to the lower levels, gunning for the lobby. By the time she got there though, the woman wasn’t present.
Where’d she go?
Trina growled in frustration, bolting off to begin a search around the hospital. She tried to be quick as she could as she checked every room she was allowed access to.
Come out, come out wherever you are-
Trina stopped short as a shock of sandy blond hair wisped down a hallway.
There you are.
Trina followed after it quietly, keeping her footsteps slow and gentle. Sure enough, it was indeed the woman she had seen out front. Where they were currently was where some of the operating rooms were… in particular, where her father was being operated on… and the woman was making a beeline for said operating room.
Trina quietly pulled the bo staff that was clipped onto the shell armor she had on her back, narrowing her eyes.
Pass that OR and I don’t make you see stars.
Sure enough, the woman stopped at the OR, pulling out a set of goggles from her pocket, putting them on. Trina moved closer, readying her bo staff. The woman was silent as she stared at the entrance of the OR. While Trina couldn’t see her eyes, she could most certainly see the smile on her face.
“So this is where you’ve been hiding.
Trina’s eyes widen at this.
No… She… She couldn’t have figured it out that quickly… No way in heck… How could she have…?
“Oh just wait till Liv hears about this.”
Oh… HECK NO!
Trina lunged forward, bringing her bo staff around the woman’s neck, whirling her around and slamming her into a wall before pinning her with it.
“She won’t be hearing about anything!”
The woman was stunned at what had just occurred, staring at Trina in shock before it turned into a sneer.
“Oh great, the turtle girl likes to hang around here too.”
Trina tightened her grip.
“Cut the crap. Who are you and what do you want?” Trina growled.”And more importantly, what’s your connection to Liv Amara?”
The woman was taken aback by this.
“Since when does Kame take interest in her? She’s not even your problem!”
“She is now.” Kame narrowed her eyes. “Since you have your eyes on someone in there that clearly she has an interest in.”
The woman narrowed her eyes as well.
“I don’t have to tell you anything, little girl”
The woman pushed back, sending Trina into the adjacent wall. Trina grunted, trying to recover from the impact but not fast enough as the woman grabbed her by her left arm, throwing the girl over her shoulder.
Trina cried out, grabbing at her upper arm where her now popped stitches were.
Oh… Mom is not going to let me hear the end of this.
The woman looked down at her, sneering.
“If you know what’s good for you, Turtle Girl, stay out of Liv’s business.”
Trina growled.
“Don’t plan to.”
The woman grinned at this.
“Then your bird boy friend will pay dearly.”
The woman left without another word, disappearing from sight.
Trina got up slowly, holding her wounded arm. She wanted to chase after the woman but doing so wouldn’t be wise with her injury.
Could lead to major blood loss if I’m careless and could lead to infection if I’m REALLY careless.
“The heck happened out here?!”
Trina looked to the operating room doors, seeing they were open and Takashi was present, a confused and slightly horrified look on his face. Trina glanced to the side, gripping tighter at her injury.
“We… had an intruder. I tried to stop her but… it didn’t end well…” Trina lowered her head. “She was looking in the operating room and it seemed she was interested in someone in there…”
Takashi’s eyes shrunk.
“Oh no…”
“Takashi?”
Takashi looked behind to Kim and Shaylin, who both had looks of concern.
“What’s going on, Sweetie?” Shaylin asked.
Takashi sighed, lowering his head.
“We… might have a problem.”
oooooo
It was hazy as Obake regained consciousness. Last thing he remembered was Kim telling him to relax and count backwards from 100. He didn’t make it past 95.
There was soreness in the left side of his face, which was expected with the surgery.
Just hope they were able to do what was needed to adjust the implant… though I guess the bigger question…
Obake focused on a thought, needing to test something.
Destroying San Fransokyo so I could be immortalized as the man who was revered by all by rebuilding the city into a place built on learning and no limits….
… What was I thinking!? That’s a terrible idea! So many people would have gotten hurt who did nothing wrong! And what was I thinking saying the tumor was good for me!? It could’ve killed me-
Obake mentally smiled at this.
I… I can actually… tell right from wrong… and it’s not a chore to do so…
I can…
Oh, Kim you’re a genius!
Obake focused back on waking up, his senses coming back to him. He could hear voices faintly, along with the beeps and whirs of machines busy at work with monitoring him and his status. As things became clearer, who could make out someone hissing in pain.
“Moooom! A little gentler please!”
“Sorry, Tri, I’m doing what I can but you kind of made it worse than it was last time.”
“Not my fault a demon lady decided to show up at the hospital and throw me against a wall.”
WHAT!?
Obake’s eyes snapped open. It only took a moment for his vision to clear, seeing Kim hard at work with patching up an injury Trina had on her upper arm and… What was that armor she was wearing? He didn’t remember ever seeing that before.
It looks like… a turtle…?
“Uh guys?” Obake heard Takashi speak up.
“Not now, Takashi, busy.” Kim said, still focusing on her task.
“Yeah, let her continue the torture.” Trina grimaced.
“Guys, he’s awake.”
Both straightened up, looking at Obake, stunned.
“Oh… that was a fast wake up recovery.” Trina gulped. “Thought it would’ve been longer.”
“Indeed.” Kim turned to face Obake, making her way over to him. “How are you feeling?”
“Confused.” Obake still had his eyes looking over at Trina. “Care to tell me what happened? … And what the costume is all about?”
Kim sighed.
“Straight and to the point…” Kim shook her head, going back to Trina, finishing up her work. “You want me to explain or do you want to?”
Trina sighed.
“Let me. It was my idea after all.”
Trina looked to her father. Obake crossed his arms, raising an eyebrow.
“I’m listening.”
Trina glanced to the side.
“... After you disappeared… we were on a mad search to find you. By any means possible we were going to find you. Which meant going into dangerous places and possibly dealing with dangerous people.” Trina gestured to her armor with her free hand. “And so… I built a suit of armor and adopted an alias as a means of keeping my real identity safe and keeping shady figures off my trail and thus… Kame was born… and it just kind of snowballed into becoming a protector of Saga and… yeah… that’s all there is to it. All because I made a promise to myself.” Trina looked to Obake. “That no matter what, I was going to find my father and bring him home.”
Obake’s look softened.
“Trina…”
“You meant everything to me, Dad…” Trina smiled. “I wanted my best friend back and I was determined… and I made a new one along the way.” Trina eyed Takashi in the corner.
Takashi gave a sheepish look as Eboni elbowed him a little.
“Yeah, but his origin story is a topic for another day.” Eboni smirked. “But to level with ya a little, he’s her partner in crime as a fellow vigilante.”
“Yep… The Phoenix.” Takashi rubbed the back of his neck. “Again, we’ll explain later.”
“I see…” Obake looked over at Takashi.
Liv mentioned a “Bird Boy” while I was Sycorax… Is he…?
Obake mentally shook his head.
No, no, I’ll let them explain on their own time but if he’s the fire mutant Liv was going on about then… Well, I just have more questions.
Obake turned his attention back to Trina.
“That explains the armor. Now…” Obake’s look turned dark. “Who do I need to track down and bury the corpse of?”
Trina covered her mouth, trying not to laugh.
“D-Dad! Geeze!” Trina composed herself. “I don’t know who it was but it was some weird lady who is cahoots with… well… Liv Amara.”
Obake’s eyes widened.
“What?”
“Yeah and that’s all I know. She seemed very interested with someone in the OR and I’m afraid it might be you she was looking at… least I think… I’m not sure since I don’t even know how Liv would’ve figured out you were here… She couldn’t have… right?”
Obake brought a hand to his chin, thinking over what he knew.
As far as Liv knows I’m dead… and while I caused a mess at Sycorax I made sure not to leave a trail… and the implant doesn’t have a tracking device… Wait…
“I have a message from E. Bailey. It’s important.”
“Ah, I see she has made progress in her studies with the fire mutant in Saga. Very interesting… I’d assist but I’m a little busy with some other matters at the moment. Do tell her to continue her research and send her my regards. I will speak with her once I’m available.”
“... No. It wasn’t me she was looking at.”
Everyone looked to Obake confused.
“Then who was she looking at?” Kim asked.
Obake glanced around at everyone before stopping at Takashi.
“I don’t want to make assumptions but… based off something I heard, I believe she had an interest in a certain… “Bird Boy.””
Takashi groaned, bringing a hand to his face.
“I only know one person who refers to me as such.”
Trina’s eyes widened.
“Oh gosh that was…”
“Yeah…”
Takashi lowered his head.
“Dragoness.”
