jdkdlfjsks love ppl assuming i know more korean than i do
like some things i know what to do because it’s not my first time—not because i understand everything being spoken to me. though if it’s been a while i might slip up which prompts ppl after already having been speaking to me in korean for a while to be like ummm 한국말 할 줄아세요? (Or similar) and i hear “한국“ and shake my head and they’re like oh hmm ok 🤣

Tumblr media
Bakugo doesn’t know what to expect, stepping into his office after a long day on patrol—actually, scratch that. Bakugo doesn’t expect anything, really, besides his office to look the exact same way he left it this morning: pristine and orderly.
And it is, for the most part—save for a small bouquet of flowers sitting delicately on his desk.
It isn’t uncommon for him to receive some; companies and politicians often send them to express their good graces. But those usually go through PR first, along with the many other trinkets and letters received from fans.
So, it shouldn’t really be a big deal, except, flowers have never appeared in his office, on his desk, with a note written in your handwriting, until now.
Bakugo prides himself on his good memory; he remembers holidays, birthdays, and since being with you—potential anniversaries too. But there’s nothing, complete zilch that comes up when he tries to recall what today could be.
He furrows his brows, looking for your contact on his phone. Most of his hero costume is gone now, all of the chunky pieces stored away to reveal the plain black jumpsuit he wears underneath. Clunky boots replaced by rubber shoes he wears more and more these days.
He reaches for the bouquet while his phone rings, fingers sliding through the leaves softly. It’s a simple arrangement: a few gerberas and tulips standing out in pink and orange against small bunches of baby’s breath and cocculus. There’s a homeyness to it he can only attribute to you.
“Katsuki?” you pick up, warmth and affection coming through.
“Y’got me flowers?” he asks gruffly, thumbing the note you’d written.
There’s nothing on it but ‘For Katsuki’ in your cursive. No indication of what it’s for, or why you’d given it in the first place. He’s confused and maybe a little nervous; did he forget a date or something?
“Oh, yeah!” you exclaim, a string of ‘pings’ sounding your request at a video call.
Lately, calls with you end up this way. For the longest time, Bakugo’s been a text-mostly-and-call-but-no-video-only kind of guy; it’s quick and efficient, gets things done with minimal fuss. But since getting together with you, texting’s begun to feel a little bit insufficient without your voice accompanying it. Regular calls suffice, but you know how harsh his words can sound despite his face saying otherwise.
Your relationship is kind of old but still kind of new—a few months before you celebrate one year, and he still rolls his eyes (at himself) whenever you do this, lips quirked up as he clicks ‘accept’ (as if he can’t believe how you’ve single-handedly changed his phone habits just like that).
You wait for him to adjust his phone, portions of his office in blur before he props it against the All Might paperweight on his desk. You continue, “Do you like it?”
He shoves the bouquet into the frame, smothering the microphone until all you hear is muffled noise.
“Sorry, baby, I think you’re covering the mic.”
He tuts and you laugh as his face comes into view a few seconds later. His eyebrows are bunched together in the way they characteristically are and you see remnants of his black eyeliner smudged across his eyelids. Even at the tail end of his day, tired and just a little bit grumpy, Bakugo still looks pretty illuminated by the light on his phone.
It’s unfair, you think.
“S’nice.” he murmurs, fiddling with the petals, “Thank you.”
You catch his gaze and smile, “You’re welcome.”
There’s an uneasiness to Bakugo’s eyes that you can tell comes from uncertainty, and you give him the silence to sort through it before he lets you know eventually, just like he always does.
“I–”, he looks to the side, away from the camera. The crease between his eyebrows grow deeper before clearing his throat, “–M’not forgetting anythin’ today, am I?”
You tilt your head, puzzled, “I don’t think so, unless I’m forgetting it too.”
“So why’d–”, he looks back to the bouquet, sighing, “–why’dya give me flowers?”
Bakugo prides himself on his good memory; he knows your favorite food, and your usual order from that café you both go to down the street. He remembers that one sunday, during a hike, when you told him in passing that it was the best day of your life. You don’t like fuzzy socks because they make you sneeze, and you’re allergic to dust but continue to tend to him even when he’s covered entirely in it.
Bakugo knows all these things and makes it a point to because a relationship–this relationship with you–is new and kind of hard, and this is one way he knows he can be good to you.
“Oh,” you blink, before answering so casually, so honestly, “I just wanted to.”
Ruby eyes stare back at you, a mixture of emotions you can’t decipher swirling in them. His fingers slip through the leaves of the bouquet once more before his gaze softens.
“Ha.” he huffs out, almost chuckling to himself in relief.
“Yeah, ‘ha’,” you tease, laughing, “they’re just for being you, Katsuki.”
The look you send him is fond, but the feeling it gives him is anything but. Every time you laugh, and smile, and speak to him as if he is every bit deserving of the love you give, there is a battle raging in his ribcage. He doesn’t know when it’s ever going to stop feeling that way–if it ever will. The sides of his neck begin to flush red, and you giggle, finding it every bit endearing.
He clears his throat again, trying hard to hide how flustered he feels, “D’you make it?”
You nod, “Been trying flower arranging lately.”
“S’pretty.” he supplies, turning the bouquet around to show you. You grow shy, Bakugo knowing full well how terrible you are at taking compliments.
“You should get going, it’s getting late.” you mumble, snuggling into your blanket, the one he’d left in your apartment months ago.
Bakugo grunts in agreement, “Tomorrow, 7am?”
You hum, “Message me when you get home,” reminding him, even though this is routine by now.
The next day, just like every other Tuesday, Bakugo will pick you up at 7am for a trip to that café you go to down the street. And maybe, on another day, you’ll get him flowers again, just for being your Katsuki.

Building a New Life
Tumblr media
Justin was the star wrestler at his high school. He had won regional titles and the adoration of all the local families for years, and was ready to head to college to continue his streak. Senior year he was at his peak, winning matches left and right. All he had to do was wait for those recruitment offers to roll in. He waited and waited, still kicking ass in his wrestling, but while everyone around him was committing and getting accepted, there were no letters to him. To his dismay, one never came. His plans for the future were shattered, what was he supposed to do now? The wrestling scholarship was his only shot for college.
With the year ending and not many options, Justin started looking for entry level jobs that would take him. He lived in a fairly rural area so most of what he found was either farm work or construction, and the latter paid better. He called one of them up and they told him to swing by the site a few days later. He drove out to the construction site later that week and walked into the mobile office they had there. The manager came out to greet him. He was a rugged man in his late 40’s, with a stocky build and thick stubble. He’d clearly been in the business for years and it showed through his worn hands and gruff voice from yelling orders at his lackeys. The man looked Justin up and down.
“A little scrawny but I can work with it,” he said after a few seconds.
“I was a top wrestler in the region!” Justin protested.
“Doesn’t matter in this industry,” the man said flatly. “Can you handle heavy loads and equipment? Can you deal with being outside most of the day in rough weather?”
Justin was caught off guard, usually people were much nicer to him. “Of course I can! I can handle whatever you throw at me,” he assured.
“Well alright, If you think you can handle it let’s see how you do here,” the manager said, handing a pile of clothes to Justin. “Here’s your safety and HiVis gear, make sure it fits and then we’ll get you set up outside.”
Justin took his uniform to the bathroom to try it on real quick. It included a hard hat that was adjustable, which he fit to his head, a bright orange and yellow HiVis vest, and a couple other things. He put it all on and stepped back into the office.
“Alright follow me, Justin was it?” the manager gestured towards the door.
“Yes sir,” Justin responded uncharacteristically.
“Name’s Blaine, the manager revealed, “Around here we usually work on residential projects, we’re currently assisting on a development outside of town.” He led them away from the office around the immediate site, which currently seemed to be mostly used as storage for equipment and materials. “Since you’ve got no experience you’ll start by shadowing some of our guys for a few weeks and handling more basic tasks til you’re ready for more,” he continued. “You can head back to the office and they'll take care of the nitty gritty for ya. I’m expecting great things from you, wrestler,” Blaine laughed as he left Justin and headed out towards the development. Justin heard his gruff voice booming in the distance as he barked orders to the workers.
Justin was unsure about all of this, but he didn’t really have a better option at the moment. He felt out of place in his new safety gear, and he was younger than nearly everyone he saw working. He took care of the paperwork and headed home for the day; they'd hired him on the spot to start the next morning. With considerable unease, he went to bed, closing one chapter of his life for the next.
As the weeks went by Justin began acclimating to this new job fairly well. He got to know the guys he worked with, learned how to use the equipment, and began to feel comfortable on the site. He even felt like he had put on some mass to better handle all the physical work he was doing. His rock solid abs were a little less visible than they had been but for some reason that didn’t bother him. He was already starting to forget the sting of not being recruited for wrestling. Every day he came into work those past dreams seemed to fade a little more, replaced by his new life. His coworkers had made fun of him for having such a baby face at the beginning, but now he was starting to sport a little bit of stubble. Justin was slowly starting to blend in more with his new crowd.
Tumblr media
The months continued to pass, with Justin becoming more and more entrenched in his new construction life. It was getting colder outside, and his body began to adjust without him even noticing. His stubble grew out into a real beard, short and dense. He began packing on more body fat as he spent less and less time at the gym and more and more working and drinking with his new bros. His voice began to sound a little deeper and rougher, matching those around him. The hard hat really suited him now with his more rugged looks. He had never been a good student in school but he seemed to really be taking to this new job, completely forgetting about his old goals. The occassional approving nod from Blaine was driving him forward. He was thriving in this new position, but the job wasn’t done with him yet.
Tumblr media
Unbeknownst to Justin, under his thick winter clothes things were changing. His previously toned body, while still fairly muscular, was steadily becoming thicker with fat. Not only that, but he’d always been near perfectly smooth and that too was slowly changing. It had started with his chest, where on the previously bare skin thin wispy hairs had started to poke out. That didn’t last long though, as they were quickly overrun with thicker, darker hairs that began sprouting in between his pecs. They grew curly as they spread out, covering his entire chest in hair, spreading up across his collarbone and down across his slowly growing stomach. The new hairy coat was just another part of his insulation against the harsh winter weather. But the hairs didn’t stop there either. His pits erupted with thick wiry hairs, coating his underarms in curly hairs that trapped both heat and sweat. The hairs pushed out, tangling together as they formed a thick tuft of hair under each arm, even spreading out to connect with the rug on his chest. After each day of hard work he’d come home stinking like the other men he worked with, and over time he started to enjoy the musk he produced.
Tumblr media
Of course he wasn’t done filling out his uniform quite yet. His formerly modest bush began growing with no end in sight, engulfing his groin in thick, wiry brown hairs that radiated out from his lengthening cock. Sometimes while on the site Justin would instinctively reach down in his pants to itch the growing bush, the feeling and texture of it driving him wild. With pubes erupting day and night his musk only grew stronger, as Justin began to truly have a manly aura around him that he’d never had before. It seemed to help him bond with the other guys more, as they welcomed him into their groups and invited him out more and more frequently. Underneath his work pants his legs bulked up considerably from carrying all sorts of materials around, followed closely by the same dark fur. It raced down his legs and coated them with curly hairs that rubbed against the inside of his increasingly tight jeans as he walked around, an almost arousing feeling. Within the first year of working Justin had gone up four sizes in his work boots, as his feet grew and widened to match the rest of him. The massive steel-toed boots hid how hairy his feet had gotten, with dark hairs covering the tops and toes.
Tumblr media
The next year was largely the same. Justin continued slowly changing to better fit his new job. He was really beginning to excel at it, and he’d attained a close friendship with many of the men he worked with. It almost seemed as if he’d aged ten years over the last one, he certainly looked it at this point. His fur coat only thickened, growing even denser across his chest and stomach to the point you could barely see the skin beneath the hairs. Hair had also spread up and onto his shoulders before enveloping his massive back. The hairs gushed out across his shoulder blades before shooting down his spine and spreading out wide. The heavy coating slowly grew thicker and spread out further as time went on, reaching down to his ass. It too became covered with thick, dark hairs as it inflated to a truly massive size. During the warmer months sometimes he just wore his vest and hard hat, his incredibly thick hair covering the rest of him and sticking through his vest.
Tumblr media
Justin earned the nickname ‘Grizzly’ from his coworkers after they saw how hairy he’d gotten, and his body had put on the size to match. Gone was the small but toned body of a wrestler, replaced by a thick, hairy, and sturdy body of a weathered construction worker. He oozed masculinity from not only his stained and dirty work clothes, but from the thick chest hair that he left his shirt open to show off. His entire body was now coated with a dense coat of hair and he liked to make that known, as long as he wasn’t caught against safety regulations at least. He never questioned why he’d changed so much in such a short span, it never even occurred to him, and honestly he liked his new life. He was just one of the guys working on the site now. The hair felt as natural to him as anything else, and the other guys seemed to like it even if they made fun of him once in a while. Occasionally when they went out drinking some of the guys would have too many beers and start rubbing their hands through his thick fur, but he didn’t mind at all. It felt good to be masculine, and to be appreciated for it by other guys. Months continued to pass though no one could really remember how long Justin had been working there at this point, but they were all glad he was there. He was the best construction worker on their team.

Fictober Day 30: When You Know What You Want
Prompt: "I won't let you down"
Mulder and Scully have to babysit baby Matthew Scully. Rating: T, wc: 1,416
Tagging @today-in-fic @xffictober24
“Mulder, it’s me.” The clock reads 8.57 a.m. when he answers Scully’s phone call – the same time she usually strolls into their basement office.
“Is everything all right?” He’s trying to keep the panic out of his voice. Whatever is going on, Scully doesn’t need him freaking out.
“More or less,” she says with a sigh and he’s half out of his chair already. “I can’t come into the office today.”
“Are you sick?” He squeezes the phone between his ear and shoulder, opening his email, ready to inform Skinner that neither he nor Scully will be available today.
“No, I’m fine – I mean, I’m not sick.” She sighs again. “My sister-in-law Tara called me half an hour ago, frantic because my brother Bill is running late and she has a job interview. My mom is on a trip with her book club and well, I guess that left me.”
“You didn’t mention your brother was in town.”
“I didn’t know,” she says through gritted teeth. “He didn’t want me to know. It was supposed to be some big surprise. That completely backfired. Either way, I’m watching the baby until Tara comes back and it could be hours.”
“Do you want company?” He doesn’t even need to think about it. He’d much rather babysit Bill Jr. baby son than sit around in the office all day, missing Scully.
“You don’t have to do that, Mulder.”
“What if I want to?” She takes her time thinking about it.
“Only if you want to,” she says, but he’s certain he hears relief in her voice. Or maybe that’s just wishful thinking on his part.
“I’ll contact Skinner and then I’m on my way.”
“Oh Mulder, if you’re coming over, could you pick up a few things on the way for me? Just in case.”
“Sure thing. I won’t let you down.”
*
Scully’s “just-in-case” list is longer than any grocery list he’s ever written for himself. He finds everything easily enough and catches several looks from women – mothers, mostly – who gawk at him.
“Your wife is so lucky,” one says in passing and Mulder stares after her, speechless, convinced he’s in a parallel universe. He forgets about it quickly, hurrying to get to Scully and baby Matthew. He met the boy as an infant; his face had been wrinkly and his eyes closed.
Since then, he hasn’t even seen a picture of the boy. He wonders why. Scully has mentioned him here and there, just like she’s mentioned other members of her family. But he doesn’t know what to expect when he knocks at the door, hoping the baby isn’t asleep.
Scully opens the door with the boy on her hip, smiling at Mulder.
“Hi,” he says, overwhelmed all of a sudden. Scully with a baby in her arms is a sight he doesn’t get to see often. He’s surprised how many emotions it unleashes in him.
“This is my friend, Mulder,” Scully explains to Matthew in a soft voice that makes Mulder stare at her in awe. “Do you want to say hi?”
“No.” It’s more spit than letters and the expression reminds Mulder of the baby’s father. He hopes the dislike isn’t genetic.
“That’s his favorite word,” Scully says, running a hand over Matthew’s soft, reddish hair. The Scully genes must be strong.
As he steps inside, he can’t help but wonder what their child would look like; his and Scully’s. Would their child have red hair, too? Would it have Scully’s nose? God, he hopes so.
“Here’s the- here’s everything you asked for.” He hands her the bag, forgetting that she has the child in her arms. The transfer is awkward but they manage.
“Can you hold him for a second? He doesn’t bite.” Scully hands him the baby and for a moment, the two just stare at each other.
“Hello, Matthew. You probably don’t remember me,” Mulder says as Matthew reaches for his nose. They always go for the nose. “I met you when you were born.”
“Guh!” he exclaims, seemingly agreeing with Mulder.
“I work with your aunt, you know. She’s great, isn’t she? She is. You smell like cookies, Matt. I bet she let you have cookies, huh? Remember how cool she is. You can always come to her when your parents – well, when you need a place to stay.” Matthew listens to him carefully, a finger in his otherwise open mouth. He’s quiet and not fussy, surprising Mulder. He’s heard horror stories of toddlers having crying fits when in a stranger’s arms. Not this little Scully.
“I think you might be my new favorite Scully,” Mulder confesses to him, tickling his stomach and making him gurgle with laughter.
“I’m no longer your favorite?” Scully just stands there in the doorway, her arms crossed, a big smile on her face.
“Matt, I think I’m in trouble.” The boy just laughs again. “You’re still my favorite Scully, Scully,” he assures her. “But this one’s quite cute, too.”
“He is,” she agrees and he thinks he sees a flicker of pain cross her face. “You can hand him back now. Unless you want to feed him.”
“Sorry, pal,” Mulder says, handing the toddler back to Scully, “I’m not qualified for that.”
*
“Toddlers are messy,” Mulder remarks a couple of hours later after Tara has come to pick up Matthew. She apologized to Scully – and Mulder – for springing the boy on them, but both assured her that they didn’t mind.
“They are,” Scully agrees, picking up random toys. She didn’t ask him to stay and help her clean up, but he thought it was the least he could do. Especially after his interactive storytelling in which several plush toys were flying around Scully’s living room.
“But they’re also cute.”
“They are that, too.” Her voice is soft; too much so. He thinks about the moment earlier when he thought he saw something in her expression. There’s something in the air and he isn’t sure if he should grasp for it.
“He has that Scully hair.” Scully chuckles, without looking over at Mulder.
“Bill always hated it when he was younger. I hope it will be easier for Matthew.” She’s holding one of the stuffed animals in her hand; a small giraffe. Mulder just watches her, waits.
“Mulder?”
“Yes?” She’s still not even looking at him, making his heart beat faster, knowing she’s going to say something important.
“Have you ever… I know we once talked about- but have you ever seriously considered having children?” He wishes she were looking at him. He wants to see her face when he says this. But he knows this moment is fragile as it is and he’ll take what he can get.
“For the longest time, I didn’t. It just never crossed my mind and my life – the job… it just wasn’t anything I thought about. Then I met Emily and I saw you with her and…”
“Emily?” Scully turns around and her eyes are full of tears. He nods slowly.
“That’s when I started thinking about it.”
“You could meet someone tomorrow and-”
“I have met her already, Scully. I think you know that.” His admission is not a surprise. Scully glares at him for a second before she looks away, nodding to herself.
“That’s… that makes this easier, actually,” she says, laughing uncomfortably.
“Makes what easier?” Suddenly his heart is pounding, his throat dry.
“I got a second opinion on my ova and um, they say there’s a chance. A chance for me to have a baby.”
“Scully, that is wonderful news.”
“I’ve been thinking about it – debating it, actually. Whether it was something I even wanted to explore. Today showed me that I… that I want to at least try. I have to try.” A few tears fall from her eyes and Mulder nods, overwhelmed by emotions, too. A Scully baby. Red hair, blue eyes, and a sweet smile.
Her child.
“When I thought about it, even before I made a decision, the only person I considered asking…,” she trails off. He has a hunch, but right now is not the time to jump ahead. So he waits. He looks at her, proving that he can be patient. He will be there for her, no matter how long it takes.
“I want you to be the other part of the equation.”
And there it is. His heart takes flight and he doesn’t even need to think about it. He grins at her, hoping she understands.

Buddie Fic Fragment No. 1
1k words | teen | complete
Tags: love confession, unrequited love, bucktommy break up, angst, ambiguous/open ending, Eddie Diaz being mean to himself
-
The person knocking is exactly who Buck had hoped it wouldn’t be. Eddie has his determined face on when Buck opens the door, so this is exactly what he’d been hoping to avoid. Well… It’d been nice while it lasted.
Except, it hadn’t actually been nice. Buck has been acting weird for the last two weeks, despite his best efforts, and Eddie’s obviously noticed.
“What’s going on, Buck?” Eddie asks without so much as a hello, as Buck steps aside to let him in. He looks as tired and worn down as he always does these days. Since Chris left.
“Funny, I was about to ask you that, since you’re the one that showed up my door unexpectedly,” Buck answers, like maybe he can still play this whole thing off. It earns him one of Eddie’s champion side-eyes.
“You’ve been acting weird for the last two weeks and trying to hide it. You think I haven’t noticed?”
“Have I?” He heads to the fridge. It’s partly out of habit, but mostly out of an excuse to put some distance between him and Eddie — who shakes his head no when Buck asks via body language, if he wants a beer.
Buck doesn’t want one either, so he shuts the fridge, empty handed, and retreats further behind the safety of the kitchen island. He tucks himself into the corner and leans against the cabinets next to the sink.
“You know you have. I know you have. The rest of the team knows you have,” Eddie says stepping closer, but staying on his side of the room. “And I’ve been waiting for you to come to me with whatever it is, but you haven’t. I thought you knew that you can tell me anything. Do you not— Do you not trust me? Did I do something to—“
“I’m in love with you,” Buck shoves out because he can’t live with Eddie worrying that Buck could somehow ever not trust him.
“— piss you off or make you think that… What?” Eddie freezes. Stares at him with complete and total shock on his beautiful face.
This is exactly what Buck was afraid of, but… the band-aid’s off, now. In a way it’s a relief.
“I’m in love with you. That’s why I’ve been acting like a freak. I know you don’t feel the same way, so I was hoping I could just keep it to myself but I…”
“You suck at keeping things from me,” he finishes, breaking eye contact and looking down at the island where he carefully spreads his hands across the laminate surface, like he needs something to hold him up.
“I suck at keeping things from you.”
Eddie doesn’t move. Stays totally still. Buck can practically see the gears turning in his head as he absorbs Buck’s confession. “This doesn’t change anything between us okay?” he says, still staring at the countertop. But then he looks up. Looks Buck square in the eye. “I love you. Not— Not the way you love me. But, I love you.”
It’s so so close to what he’d told Buck several months ago, when Buck came out to him. It had made him feel better then.
It doesn’t now.
“I know you do, Eddie,” and they can both hear how heartbroken and resigned he sounds. He already knew all this. So why does it hurt so much to hear it?
The silence of the moment draws out uncomfortably between them.
Then something clearly occurs to Eddie. “Tell me this isn’t why you broke up with Tommy.”
And well… Buck can’t tell him that, so he doesn’t say anything. Instead he looks down at the floor in front of his feet. There’s a dark purple spot of dried smoothie splatter on of the tiles.
“Buck! Really?!”
“What do you expect me to say, Eddie?” he asks with enough exasperation to finally look at him again. “It’s not like once I realized how I feel about you, we could just keep on dating. That wouldn’t have been fair to him!”
“Except that Tommy’s—“ Eddie slams his mouth shut and drags his hands down his face.
“Tommy’s what?”
“Nothing,” Eddie says, hands falling limp at his side. “Forget it.”
Buck steps out from around the island but keeps a few stools between them. “No, Eddie. Tommy’s what?”
“Tommy’s actually a good guy!” Eddie barks out before looking immediately shocked he said it at all.
“Tommy’s a great guy.” And at first, Buck doesn’t understand what that has to do with anything. Then he realizes what Eddie actually meant. “But Eddie… So are you.”
“Track record says you’re wrong.”
“What track record?”
“My track record! Shannon. My team in the army. Ana. Marisol. Kim. My kid who is currently 700 miles away because he can’t even look at me. My— my whole life, Buck! All I do is let people down.”
“Eddie, is that what you think of yourself?”
“Pretty hard to think anything else, at this point,” he says before leaning back against the counter and crossing his arms protectively.
And now Buck’s heart is breaking for an entirely different reason. “Eddie…” He’d get closer, try to offer some sort of physical comfort, but Eddie turns his head away, looks toward the door like he’s about to bolt. So, Buck stays where he is.
“Eddie, you’re my favorite person.”
“Well, I shouldn’t be.”
“You don’t get to decide that. You don’t get to decide how I feel about you. And to be honest, I don’t know how I could ever feel any other way about you. Not when you’re brave and kind and compassionate and caring and thoughtful. And you’re a really great dad.” Eddie gives the barest shake of his head at that. “You are. I know you don’t feel like it right now, but you are. You are, Eddie. And you’re a really good friend, too. And you have never let me down.”
Eddie scoffs and wipes away a tear that was about to fall. “Just a matter of time, Buck.”

* Wonder how many people come on to see me stream thinking "Oh hey, the voice actor for Kickin does streaming," or "Hey is this the official channel for the Smiling Critters show?" And they just come in on me saying something like, "I HAVE BUILT A TO SCALE JOLLY ROGER WITH POPSICLE STICKS!"
* Hey Theo, it's you! (Gets empty bottle thrown at head) Ow.
* White is the color of evil, cause nothing exists in it! Delight taught me that!
* I would cry, but I am too dehydrated to do such a thing. (Goes to drink some water, pauses, puts water bottle back down)
* It is always funny to see people react to my complete indifference to horrible stuff.
* I needed to find a way to get a gambling addiction, so I thought space could have the answer.
* (Seeing Bubba being affected by the blue screen) Bubba, I know you always wanted to become the one thing I love, but this is ridiculous!
* I am just saying revenge is amazing, ok? Yeah, you gain a tremendous amount of regret sometimes, but it is amazing.
* Cool motive bro, still murder!
* (In response to Angel giving them food) It hasn't been that long since I started streaming, it has only been...5 hours...
* This is my favorite bird. (Holds up middle finger before pointing to self) It is the chicken.
* (Wearing VR) The future is today!...I might need it adjusted though.
* Does dying take away time away from my vacation days?
* IT IS ALL A CONSPIRACY TO END ME! IF NO ONE EVER HEARS FROM ME AGAIN, IT IS CAUSE THEY KILLED ME, CHOPPED ME UP, AND FED ME TO THE WOLVES DANG IT!
* Fursuits are getting so good you can now subject yourself to your own form of trauma to fuse into it. Brought to you by Playtime.
* I have seen the internet and honestly, have seen worse. Which is saying alot.
* (Looks at Candy Cat in his lap before looking at camera)...Help. me.
* Theo: You finally did it! Did it help when you imagined it was me you were fighting?
Kickin: Not at all...worked when it was Dogday though.
Dogday: WHAT DID I DO?
Kickin: Hell if I know. As long as it works though.
* (Playing I Expect You to Die, dies trying to do an action pose)...(Starts singing the James Bond theme notes)
* (Reacting to "Unnecessary Feelings") Bubba, I was promised a crime drama, not a reminder that no one in this house knows how to feeling well, including us!
* I would boop you, but I don't want a pirate hook this early in my character development.
* William then preceded to commit several hours of joy, on at least an entire classroom of kids to learn why death does.
* You can have one hit Hoppy...Ah não, ela tem uma cadeira!
* Don't worry, I won't hurt you, I am just going to turn into a nuke to fall on you.
* (Stares at camera while winding music box)
* Chica, you wouldn't hurt your brother, would you? Or would you want me to be you and Foxy's kid, whichever makes you more merciful on me.
* I am here to break the stereotype that parrots can only be pirates and no other reasons at all.
* (Refering to how much money he has in game) $60!? I can finally afford 1 AAA video game! (Pulls up Balan Wonderworld steam page) I am going to buy this one guys!
* Kickin, coming into Crafty's stream: You mind if I borrow a picture.
Crafty: Uh sure...Why?
Kickin, taking one of the monsters: A reminder.
Crafty: A reminder of what?
Kickin: Of who in this family is an actual threat. (Leaves without elaboration)
* Don't make fun of me, I will cry will I beat you up.
* We don't even own a game cube, I just want to find a copy of Skies of Arcadia to display.
* When you get into a certain mindset for so long, it is so jarring to have to go into a different line of think, like you just suddenly ask, "Wait I don't have to ration this sandwich for the entire year?"
* WHY DID I LET THEO TALK ME INTO PLAYING THIS!?
* I am still surprised I recovered so well from all of that.
* What would the others do without me? Minus not having a heart attack everyday.
* I SURVIVED THAT FACTORY FOR OVER 10 YEARS, I WILL NOT LET A SLIDING PUZZLE DEFEAT ME!
* Have good night everyone! I don't remember how I end these...I will make you walk the plank! No, that is not it...

Idk if anyone else cares about Ryan besides me or asks abt him - bc i actually like consuming info about him and thinking abt him. Before I entered the fandom I was a pretty big Ryan fan until it was overwritten with Milo (not complaining tho teehee)
Ifeel like i dont hear ppl talk abt him as a character rather than a plotpoint- dont rlly mind it much tho i forget about him too baha
What happened to Ryan if he survives after moving to another college?
Did he try to be a better person? Or, just acted as a better person to keep a low profile?
What is his new life like? What changed about his behavior? How's his social life?
Also does Ryan have family or a childhood backstory idk if I ever saw anything abt that
Can he actually become a better person? What would it take for him to be one?
Can he be his own yandere and if so what would he be like
<- very secretly wants to be his boyfriend
Considering the three additional asks I got after this one, I'm pretty sure Ryan is more popular than you'd expect. Also @m00nsflesh exists, so that's also the case. Ryan is mostly written to drive Milo and Eris's behavior, so that does track.
If Ryan were able to successfully escape to another college, I think he'd probably change his name like very barely (change it to Ryen or something) and then he might act a bit more low profile for a short while before going back to his normal ways. I don't think it's very likely he would strive to become a better person unless he feels it could benefit him in some way.
I think he'd try to keep his new life as close to his old life as possible. Feels more like a bump in the road since he just wants to do what he's always been doing. I think regardless of how he tries to pretend to be someone else, he'll always end up defaulting back to his original form in one way or another.
I didn't really make a family/childhood backstory, but he does act like a rich kid fratboy (or at least, that's what I was trying to aim for), so you can make of that what you will. He could have a completely different backstory.
He could be, just like anyone could be, but I don't think it would be an easy task. It's possible that if he actually found someone he cared enough it might lead him to becoming a better person or some sort of event that happens, but I don't know who or what that could do that for him.
Like could he be a yandere? Possibly, but a generally pathetic and annoying one. The kind that treats you trashily but if you try to flirt with other people, he'd probably step in and tell the other person to back off kind of deal.

come back... be here | ni-ki
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
✧ synopsis: working at a cafe can be really fun: the customers being nice, cracking jokes with your coworkers, singing while brewing coffee and so on. but it's even more fun when two members of the staff bicker and fight all day and keep everyone entertained. that's what  hybe cafe is like, thanks to ni-ki and y/n.
✦ warnings: everything is a mess tbh, confrontation??, they talk about feelings
⋆16 they are going to start dating in 3 months (700 words)
y/n had to talk to ni-ki, she had to understand what was going on. Was he actually serious or was he just joking around? did he have a crush on her?
she got up from the cardboard box she was sitting on, in the back of the store. she had taken a five minutes break earlier since the coffee shop was really calm, with very few customers, mostly students studying on their ipads and laptops. she was relaxing a bit when the whole fiasco happened.
she decided that she would be mature and go talk to him. she just hoped he would do the same.
she got up from her weirdly comfortable seat, took a deep breath to calm herself before she went up to face him and started walking, headed for the front. she walked through the door, the kitchen and went to the counter, where ni-ki was.
she saw him there, he was standing there, leaning on the counter, his hands kind of restlessly shaking. he looked up at her and after locking eyes with her for a short moment, he went back to looking at his hands.
“can we talk?” y/n asked
“when the shift ends” he said “we shouldn’t talk about that while working”
y/n agreed and went back to working, and he did the same. she was feeling a bit anxious, anticipating the worst scenarios ever where he would tell y/n he actually hated her and that it was just a bet.
the hour and a half left for their shift passed quickly and they found themself standing in front of each other in the private staff-only parking space near the cafe.
y/n decided to break the ice first “so, was it all a prank of some sort to hurt me?” she said
“what? no that is not it at all” ni-ki quickly replied
“then what is it?”
“i mean, it’s quite simple, i have a crush on you” ni-ki admitted freely. she wasn’t one to be so upfront about his feelings but something about y/n made him comfortable and able to speak freely.
“i really didn’t expect that” y/n admitted
“why?”
“i mean we are always fighting and bickering, i really felt like you hated me for a moment”
“yeah i see why, but no, i always felt kind of drawn to you but i didn't want to make it weird so i acted that way, it was kind of childish on my side” ni-ki said
“i was just as childish, cause at first i really wanted to be close to you”
they both stopped talking and paused for a second.
“so?” y/n asked
“i think we should start getting to know each other, see if the hearted was actually real or not, let’s see” ni-ki said
“my hatred was very much real” y/n said laughing “but yeah, you are right, we see if we can be friends. I have to get used to you not being my worst enemy and i need time to do that, and you probably need some time too. then we will talk again”
“that is what i was thinking of doing” he said
“so we aren’t rivals anymore?” y/n asked with a small smile on her face. being honest to herself, she had been waiting for this for a while.
“nope!” ni-ki responded, sharing the same small smile as y/n and obviously sharing the same feeling, he had waited for this moment for even longer
y/n made a small step and hugged the tall boy, squeezing him tightly. ni-ki started laughing and squeezed her back. she started laughing as well and when she felt ni-kis hands tickling her on the waist the laugh turned hysterical.
what they didn’t know was that eunchae, jake and beomgyu where there as well, looking at them.
“i’m going to be replaced i fear” beomgyu said
“we can all just cry together when they ditch us for eachother” jake added
“yeah they are going to be bestfriends and forget about us” euncahe agreed
“nah they are going to date in about three months” a voice, coming from yeonjun who was standing behind them and listening to them, said.

Quinten Quist x fem Reader (Part 2)
Tumblr media
“Daddy,” “Yes,” His father replied. “How…did you know, you liked, mama.” Ono sits up from his chair. “Well, I don't know. It sort of just..happened,” he chuckled. “Where is this coming from?” Quinten frowned as he curled himself up in his chair. “I don’t know…it’s just..i’m..” He stutters with his words. “Is there someone who has caught your attention?” Ono smirks as he sits closer to Quinten. “Maybe,” He replied with a chuckle.
“And, who would this mysterious person be?” Quinten was silent for a moment, until he finally spoke. “Y/n…” Ono raised his brows, surprised by Quintens response. “Really?” “Yes, I mean…I'm not sure. I guess…,” he sighs. “I’m not sure, she likes me.” Ono puts his arm around his shoulder. “Then why don’t you ask her.” “No, i can’t,” He quickly stood up from his chair as he began to pace around the room. “Why not?” “Well, what if she don;t like me back? What if she says yes and we’re moving and I leave her all alone. What if I ruin our friendship?” Ono laughs under his breath at Quintens dramatic assumptions.
“Well, then that’s your decision. What do you want to happen,”  he asked. Quinten sighs as he takes a breath. “I would like if she liked me back, and…I think I would like for us to be together.” Quintens face began to turn a slight shade of pink as he looked at the floor, twiddling with his fingers in embarrassment. “Then, why don’t you tell her that,” Ono replied. “But, how?,” “Well, think about it. I’m sure you can come up with something with that intelligent mind of yours.” Quinten smiles. That night he stayed up all night in his room, thinking of ways to slowly express himself to you without being awkward or weird about it, and hopefully by the end of it you wouldn’t turn him down.
The next morning Quinten had invited you over to spend some time with him in the garden. Just like any other day. You thought it was just going to be Quinten reading one of his books, and you just wandering around the garden like any other time. Since when you were young, that was mostly how your guys' playdates would play out. “So, why’d you want to see me?” You ask. “Well, I thought we could spend some time together, you know, before I go with daddy and Helga.”
“Really, this isn’t going to be like all the other times when you ditch me for a book,” you smirk “No, plus they were educational,” he replied in a sarcastic tone. You both walk around the garden for a while until you both go inside for lunch, cucumber sandwiches and tea.
After lunch, you went off to the washroom to freshen up. Trying to find which door in this large house, you accidentally ended up walking into a large bedroom which was Quintens. It's been a while since you've been here. Quinten never really allowed other people in his room despite his grandmother and father, which is why when you were younger it took him a while to allow you to finally step in. He never really let you touch anything though.
You glance around the room at all the different artifacts and works of art he had collected over the years, and the mounts of different papers all round his desk. His room was pretty neat and tidy, and wanting to look around more you thought you should get back before he started looking for you, but before you began to leave a small piece of parchment paper caught your eye. Why?  Well, you stepped closer and lightly stroked the other pieces of paper away, allowing you to see the paper more clearly. You smirk with a light chuckle. On the piece of paper was a detailed drawing of you, which was surprising since Quinten only really drew more architectural art and mostly in private.
You glance at the picture for longer, forgetting that Quinten was most likely expecting you and you had already been gone longer than you had anticipated. About to place the picture back down, you feel a light touch of a hand brush against your shoulder, and the warm breath brush up on your ear. “What are you doing?” Quinten asked. You quietly squeal as you quickly place the picture back down on the table, trying to act like you didn’t see anything.
“N-n..nothing. I just stumbled into the wrong room, sorry.” The light blush of embarrassment both hit your faces, as you both stood there in silence. “I bet you think I'm weird now…” he spoke. “Why would you think that?” “Because…of the picture.” He looked to the floor as he tried to hide his red face, thinking you were going to call him a creep or something.
“I don’t think that..” Quinten slowly raised his head as you replied. “I think it’s nice, and….sweet.” You smile as you pick up the picture again. “Were you going to give this to me or just keep it for yourself,” you chuckled.
“Well, I-uh.” He began to stutter, twitching with his fingers. You took a step towards him. “It almost seems like you like me,” Quinten blushed at your response. “I mean-I, of course i like you…i mean we're friends…” “No silly. I mean…more.” You gently brush up your hand against his. “You know, it would be a shame for you to leave…without giving me a kiss goodbye.”
You look into his lapis lazuli blue eyes, he slowly begins to leane in, but you stop him. “But. I want to know if you feel the same way,” You smile, covering his mouth from kissing you. He smirks, removing your hand. “I do…I really do. It’s just, I was scared. I thought you wouldn’t feel the same way.” you lean in. “Well, I guess we both thought the same thing.” You slowly kiss him as he gently wraps his arm around your waist, pulling you in. You both giggle as you clumsily trip into his bed, making sure to catch you so you didn’t hit the bed frame.
“So what does this mean…friendship ruined,” you said, taking a breath. “Yeah, I guess so.” You both laugh as you continue to kiss again, both feeling the air come out of your lungs. After a while, and many makeout sessions later, you both laid in his bed, covers over you and tucked underneath his arm. “You’ll write me?” “Yes, and you’ll write me?” “Of course.” He lightly kissed the top of your head as you both slowly began to fall asleep, holding one another in each others arms.

this is for @acerathia who caught my plans for the next installment in our little universe, for @procrastination-artist who made my entire world yesterday and as always for @ofmermaidstories to help bring some good deku vibes
here’s our introduction to Jedi!Deku x reader 💚
Tumblr media
(also here’s a lovely and fancy Naboo hallway for reference)
*:・゚✧*:・゚✧
Naboo is something out of a dream. It is all the stories and mythical children’s tales he used to read as a boy come to life. It truly is the beautiful elegant planet sitting among the wild edge of space.
Now as a man, as a Jedi, Izuku of course can appreciate how splendid and awe striking the planet is. But a deep grim reality peeks out from the back of his mind. The investigation into the attack on the Jedi temple has brought him here.
“There are unfortunate rumors now coming out about one of the Naboo senators has been very vocal against us.” Older and gauntly in appearance yet still incredibly legendary, Jedi council member Toshinori told Izuku of his assignment.
“We are not sure about how serious the allegations are but at this point we need to investigate any rumor. And…funny enough this actually works out perfectly. Naboo has been requesting us for some time to possibly send a knight as an extra guard to help with the political unrest going on in the system.”
Izuku nodded at his mentor’s request but he still needed to ask. “Why send me?”
Toshinori smiled kindly and patted Izuku’s shoulder. “You still seem to forget you are now the hero of this generation my boy, a true honor to the title of jedi knight. They will trust you.”
So Izuku took on this assignment with honor.
“Ah! Oh my goodness there he is, a Jedi knight!” His resolve of course is already getting.
Izuku has only been on Naboo since this morning and he has awkwardly had to laugh and greet so many civilians rushing up to him with eager awestruck eyes. Now finally away from the main city and safe within the palace’s grand hallways, Izuku finds a bit of peace before he has to face his assignment.
The Monarch of the planet has requested his presence. He thanks the force for already setting this into motion. As if to bless him even more a breeze flutters into the open walkways and provides a beautiful sense of peace.
He turns the corner. There, at the edge of the steps to a bottom corridor, he finds someone sitting. Izuku’s curiosity peaks up so fast.
The robes and mostly covered face…
“You’re a royal handmaiden.” He breathes out in awe.
He’s never seen one in person and he’s surprised seeing you alone. Shouldn’t you be with the Crown? Now he flat out stares and it’s like two terrified lothcats waiting for the other to move first.
That’s when Izuku spots it. A pack of various breads and sweet baked treats sitting right beside you, one of them is already half eaten.
“Don’t tell anyone you saw this!” Your voice, so fast and panicky, suddenly blurts out like you’ve been caught red handed and Izuku can’t help it.
He laughs as his stomach growls at the sight of the beautifully baked goods.
“I won’t…Just as long as maybe I can get a bite of one of those?” Izuku asks shyly.
Your shoulders drop surprised. He’s even surprised. But what surprises him more is that even with the robe’s hood hiding most of your face, your welcoming grin shines out from under the covering.
“Sure, I’ve never eaten with a Jedi knight before.”
Izuku gladly takes a seat besides you and warmly thanks you as you hand him a piece of your stash. He takes a bite and his evergreen eyes go wide.
“This is amazing!” He gushes.
“Right? A lot of people don’t know this but Naboo actually has a knack for baked goods.” You tell him friendly.
“I would’ve never known! Now I’m really glad I got to try some and on my first day here.” Izuku means his words. He’s grateful to experience Naboo this way before he has to dig deep into its dirt.
“We heard there was going to be a new guard around. I just didn’t expect to see a famous Jedi knight.” You comment.
Izuku coughs embarrassed as he tries to still enjoy the next piece of the bread you’ve given him.
“Well, I’m just a knight. Nothing too special.”
You hum a teasing type noise at him and your lips twitch amused. A wave of heated embarrassment crawls up his skin. But he also thinks it might just be the mid afternoon heat of the planet itself. Izuku never expected Naboo weather to be like this.
“Is it always this hot?” He can’t help but ask.
“Not normally. This spring is just turning into summer faster.”
“I bet. In all those robes I’m impressed you’re handling this better than I am.” He replies to you a bit sympathetic. He couldn’t imagine being in so many long and layered robes along with having most of his face covered.
“Oh I’m used to it.” You snort. “And besides, this always helps.”
Suddenly you reach to draw the robe’s hood back and he sees you for the first time.
Your face is a bit sweaty from being under the hood for so long. A sigh of relief escapes you and your eyes mirror that. Turning to him you smile a weak almost bashful thing.
You’re stunning. Izuku justifies his blatant staring as simply appreciating the new beauty this planet has greeted him with and you so far are his favorite.
“I thought royal maidens couldn’t reveal their identity?” He asks so curious and even a bit stunned.
“Eh.” You tell him so casually with a shrug he almost snorts. “The Queen is the only one who’s identity is hidden. We’re just the entourage, nobody really cares or notices us.”
A small pang now hits inside of Izuku.
“Wait that’s not true!” He suddenly tells you. “I’ve read so much about the Naboo and of course I came across the role of a royal shadow! I remember reading that they have to know so much! The issues of Naboo, anything else going on with the Galaxy, they need to be aware of it all just in case they have to refresh the Crown’s knowledge. It’s all so impressive!”
Izuku watches your eyes go wide and oh no he’s rambled on too much like he always does.
“I’m sorry!” He’s quickly stammers out now so very embarrassed. “I just…I’ve never been here before funny enough, so this is all kind of exciting for me.”
You laugh, but it’s warm and friendly making his heart do an interesting spin. Izuku watches you break off another piece from the dwindling snack stash and hand it to him. He flings it into his mouth quickly to shut himself up from rambling any more.
“Our queen is going to love you.” You tell him with a gentle nod as you munch on the sweet bread. “There’s a lot going on and hearing someone like you speak so excited about this place…it’s wonderful.”
A bright electricity spreads from his chest down to his finger tips as if the force had just ran through his veins. “O-oh! Well, t-thank you!”
He feels like he is back to being a a nervous boy in training when Uraraka used to hand him an extra training saber. Izuku knows those feelings however, this rush of being flustered, needs to be fluttered away.
So he turns the tables. “I am excited for the meeting too. I’m sure the royal court is going to interested to hear how I found a handmaiden hiding away and snacking.”
You gasp horrified. He laughs and finds he enjoys seeing how fast your face scowls hard at him.
“I thought Jedi knights were suppose to be peace keepers, not little shits like you!”
He laughs even harder. “I’m definitely telling the Crown how vulgar and rude you are too.”
“I’m going to be the one talking to everyone first and I’m warning them about how awful you are!” You childishly fire back but it’s without malice because your voice cracks. Suddenly you’re laughing too. You and him simple simple and enjoy this fresh feeling of meeting someone new.
You sigh settling yourself down and look out to the stretch of the empty palace hallway.
“Everyone, even our beloved ruler, would understand if you told them you found me like this though…we all know sometimes we just need a moment to ourselves.”
Your voice grows wistful and even a bit vacant.
A sudden wave of understanding leaks in him. He has mediated alone often because this life, this path he’s taken, sometimes needs to be sorted through. Just sitting here now he already feels as if he is teetering between that duality of being both Jedi knight and a man simply enjoying the company of someone lovely.
“Well. We ate all my snacks.” You suddenly snort. As you stand to leave, Izuku finds he’s already missing you. “Guess my break is over, plus I’m sure you have places to be Sir Jedi.”
The title…it is indeed who he is, but right he just wants to be-
“Izuku.” He clarifies. “My name’s Izuku.”
You repeat his name and his body goes light. You freely give him your name and he holds onto it so precious.
“I guess I’ll see you later then, Izuku.”
And he does see you later.
In the grander of the Crowned One’s thrown room, the entire royal court including senators sits in a circle around the sovereign. He however looks past that. A small circle of royal handmaidens surround the monarch from the back like silent all matching shadows. Izuku can’t help it. His eyes scan the matching robes hoping to find your familiar face or even just a small knowing grin being sent his way.
“Jedi Knight Izuku. Welcome to the planet of Naboo.” Then the monarch’s voice, so commanding and hauntingly even toned, greets him. His eyes go wide for a moment.
How did they know it was him coming?
Then a soft fondness fills his chest. Of course, you really did tell everyone about him first didn’t you.

After the campaign…are you, are you okay
I'm doing a lot better than my friend kjbdgfjb
Honestly, it was better than I expected but that's just because I came into it with my expectations on rock bottom and was hoping for the worst in everything. I had fun and uh. yeow
Thoughts, gripes, etc about the campaign below, MEGA spoilers, you've been warned (in no particular order)
This could just be me being insane about Graves but honestly I thought that they would touch into the Konni infiltrating Shadow some more since they did an entire event about it but they just got name dropped? Maybe they'll touch on it more in the next game or whatever but that was quite disappointing for me personally.
Graves, my wife, the light of my life. Cried when I first saw heard him and then I cried more when he was still in kahoots with Shepherd. Love him for lying to the court and love Price for finally stepping up to the plate and taking care of a loose end (Shepherd.) BUT that just leaves the question of what would happen to Graves. Would the courts believe him, or would they pin the blame on Graves (← more likely option)
Loved seeing Farah more, no additional notes
Gameplay was Fine, gun sounds were disappointing but movement overall felt a lot better compared to the beta, but tbh. You can still tell that this was originally supposed to be a DLC. Felt pretty short too but I played through it all in (mostly) one sitting. Not at all surprised at them reusing assets and animations but they could have tried a little with making new campaign outfits. The "open mission" played out a lot better than I had expected tbh. I personally only experienced a handful of bugs (other than the servers breaking) but again, to be expected
Julian did a good job as Makarov IMO. As a friend put it, he turned the game into horror any time he appeared on screen. I had wondered how they were going to handle no russian in this day and age and WELP. They made it way more gut-wrenching to play and sit through. Can't forget the casual racism too, "Are you a terrorist?" "No" "You look like one" LIKE OKAY WHAT THE FUCK. YALL CAN SAY THAT SHIT?
Very fun to see Nik again and play as Kate, but I'm mad that Kamarov isn't in it. Xitter has been a minefield and it seemed no one knew how to flag or tag their spoilers so I ended up seeing the Big Death™ and honestly, kudos to them for having the balls to off one of the main characters. Maybe it's just my delusions talking but Ghost was definitely super fucked up about it. Wonder if Soap is gonna be added to the multiplayer still and how they'll explain it if they do. CoD seems to have a habit of making everything canon so who knows

the whole "hs' point is to spite the audience" thing is just false as well, cause it forgets the whole video game and point and click theme of the site. stuff like act 1's arm bit and such were the type of old school adventure game logic where you're thinking one way while the game expects another. the frustration feels incidental. there were also other moments that would feel straight out of a sierra game, but much like those games, it never feels like the dev was spiteful. an asshole who set up a rake to laugh at you if you stepped on it sure, but not actively malicious.
also you know, that bit of a control is why the jabs at the audience in earlier acts work. if i crash the car, you know thats on me. if you crash the car and blame it on me, then no surprise that i'm just going to think that you're a dick. you can't be a trickster like bugs bunny but also the aggressor.
But audiences/readers giving input commands would later soon be discarded in later Acts of the original Homestuck webcomic. Even now for Epilogues and HS2/Beyond Canon, there is barely anything remotely relating to gameplay. One could argue it's because Alt Calliope and Ult Dirk are taking control, thus we cannot give commands. But it isn't like we are also actively seeing them give said commands to the characters that make them and the narrative worse each time. Any consequences towards the person in charge is not there either and it mostly falls on the characters themselves that had to perform the action (ex: Rose or Jade having the affair, not Alt Calliope being the one pushed it to happen). We do not even have any actual flash gameplay in HS2/Beyond Canon. Like how we got the flash game of John having a strife battle with Dad Egbert as our introduction what the battles will be like for Homestuck. All we get is a shitty visual novel because it is easier to code and made out of laziness to save time and money. It's not even like a walk-around exploration either like they did for John exploring his home upon entering the Medium, the segments in Alterniabound, or even Openbound. It's just click to read next textbox line like in Hiveswap Friendsim and Pesterquest. Doesn't help in the meta sense, it tries to imply the blame is not on the characters or even the ones that trying to take control, but the audiences/readers for wanting the series to continue, despite we had never once given any proper input command. The only thing that counts as being somewhat participant is just by giving money on Patreon for the project to continue. That's why Epilogues/HS2/Beyond Canon has shocking and bad moments because that's the story/characters themselves saying FUCK YOU to to the readers. Some people in the fandom also justify the bad things that happened in the story is because the original webcomic had always been trolling us. Hussie had always had an asshole persona, so it is just in nature for the writers to also troll the audiences. But that has lost all its meaning at this point that it's hard to tell what's genuine or what's suppose to be a joke. So all it ends up being is watching a shitty fanfic and shitty choices that nobody knows who to blame. Ult Dirk? Alt Calliope? Andrew Hussie? WhatPumpkin? James Roach? HICU? Or us for liking this series and had wanted to see it be better and have a legacy? The series fumbled when it was under Viz Media and the only way to read Homestuck is through an unofficial collection. Where the fuck can this series go even as the Kickstarter game is still in development hell after 10+ years since it was funded and the last update on that Kickstarter was just in 2021?

CBS Ghosts Review- The Silent Partner
Isaac and Sam's relationship is an underrated one to me, so I love episodes that have the opportunity to show it off. Granted this episode was definitely nowhere near as exciting or full of oomph as Halloween 3, but what is?
It highlighted once again the fact that Jay and Sam need to do more work communicating as a couple and maybe discussing limits about things or showing more appreciation cause like, Sam really gave Jay a telling off for not paying attention to her book because all he cares about is his restaurant, but frankly, I feel the man has the right to focus on stuff that's meaningful to him, especially after he did stuff like dig up Flower's death spot to get something for the seance to bring her back. That gets him a lot, to me, and I feel like sometimes Sam can be a little forgetful that even though Jay loves her and the ghosts, he needs time to do stuff that's just for him and that's not a crime.
Now that doesn't excuse him treating Isaac as if he's just some annoying imaginary friend and I was glad that he came up with the table and the speech to show that he actually did read the book about Isaac to show that he did believe in the man's value as part of his family, even if he's a ghost Jay can't see. (And totally agree with everyone that it would have been nice to see Nigel there at the unveiling and if we don't get at least one shot of Nigel and Isaac having a date for two at the ghost table, I will be sad.)
The part with Sas and Hetty and the candy was another case of "good idea, poor execution." They took it far enough and used some really weird wording for it (like when they were all "She can hold onto the candy and her fingers will be in our mouths") that it just made me wince and squirm and not blame Carol for wanting to go on a walk to get away from them one bit.
Last but definitely not least, I'm sure I was not the only one who was cheering when Pete revealed to Carol that he knew about her affair with Jerry and told her she sucked. It was well earned and I think she's lucky that he's too nice a guy to give her worse. (Although I do give her credit, even if it's a way to excuse her own cheating or whatever, for immediately asking if Pete is with someone. For all her issues with Pete, she's not a hypocrite who just expected her husband to be super loyal to her while she cheated on him because she felt entitled to that. She seemed genuinely surprised that he chose to stay loyal. Granted he didn't KNOW she cheated until later, but...still.) And although it's a low bar, also congrats to Carol for being one of the few ghosts or people to be at least decent to Nancy on sight compared, say, to Hetty, who still calls her "it."
I wish it would have just been Nancy and Pete doing the fake girlfriend thing. Cause like, with them, we know it's fake. She's there to make him look good and then she steps away. Whereas with Alberta, you just know that this relationship is something that they could make into a real thing, even after throwing it away, and since I don't feel like Richie and Danielle have that kind of chemistry it's just like...ugh, okay. Although, there could be another love interest coming for Alberta soon so maybe they aren't being made into a couple. That's my hope.
All in all, yay for Pete. That is the high point of this mostly functional episode, although, as usual, I do enjoy Isaac and Sam. Now we're on a short hiatus until early April where we could get a bachelor party and the return of Nigel! Can't wait!

I've really enjoyed your Naruto fanfic and especially Natsuko! If it's not too spoilery can you tell me more about her background? Thank you for writing and sharing!
Thank you for the ask! I saw it, and then, because I have the object permanence of an infant, forgot about it, then remembered it, then had to think about it.
You're right, I don't want to bring up too much before it appears in the narrative, but there isn't much about her that's actually a secret.
Natsuko is 22, Hikaru is 8, and they lost both their parents and the majority of their neighborhood in the Kyuubi attack. After, both were placed in the West District orphanage (Natsuko 14, Hikaru 1) while the village began to rebuild. Natsuko quickly finished her mandatory education, though students in their last few years were rushed through what was left of their curriculums in order for them to join the workforce and fill the spaces left by those who died.
Growing up, Natsuko planned on following in her mother's footsteps to become a seamstress, but once she was solely responsible for her sister, she needed money more than she needed a career. The orphanages in the village were overcrowded and Natsuko wanted to remove Hikaru from those conditions as soon as possible. She got a job waitressing at a restaurant in the East District, Koshikawa. It wasn't the best environment to work in - both owner and customers were unpleasant at the least of it - but Natsuko powered through, her sister’s future in mind.
After several months at Koshikawa and the stipend afforded to children orphaned in the attack, Natsuko was able to rent their small apartment under Urameshi-san's care. They've lived there since, and Urameshi-san has always been willing to step in and help with Hikaru whenever Natsuko was struggling or needed to work late nights at the restaurant.
Natsuko worked at Koshikawa for three years before moving to Uoshin, where she's been for four years. Making acquaintances And friends with some of the regulars was slow going, mostly because Natsuko had never had much experience with ninja and didn't know how to follow the social patterns they expected. Natsuko’s family had been purely civilian, and Koshikawa was far enough from the center of the village to be out of the way for traffic to and from the Hokage’s Tower.
Natsuko’s cool temper is a result of both her father's philosophy and her tenure in customer service. Her father always followed the principle of “your anger is never wrong, but it isn't going to help you.” Compounded on top of this was the realization that rowdy customers expected certain reactions from staff and were usually thrown when they didn't receive what they were expecting. Altogether, Natsuko’s view is that nothing can change what's been done, all you can do is move forward.
As their family and friends were, for the most part, lost in the attack, Natsuko has mostly figured out how to raise Hikaru on her own, through no small amount of trial and error. She is fiercely protective of her sister, and puts her first in all things, sometimes to the detriment of her own health. Hikaru, having that love and devotion poured into her, is just as defensive of Natsuko.
Thank you so much for sending me a message! I really appreciate it and welcome any and all other questions or comments you might have, even if I momentarily forget they exist!

Shuu’s Thoughts on Roppongi Division
Tumblr media
Kai Quinlan
“Kai-chan! We’ve been seeing him a lot lately with all the albums and songs we’ve been doing. And the other two are big meanies for forgetting about all he’s done for everyone! Especially sensei since he remembers like, nothing about him! But I know Kai-chan even more! Mostly because I’m banned from Gypsy’s Palace. Which like, boo! But it isn’t Kai-chan’s fault. If anything, it’s business between Mire-chan and me, so I don’t hate him.”
Mireya Quinlan
“And there she is~! Cranky, cranky Mire-chan! Hehe she was fun to tease when we weren’t talking about all the business stuff. But yeah, she doesn’t seem to like detectives. Must be something personal because she looked like she wanted to kick me out and into the trash. Which is totally unfair to think when you’re meeting someone for the first time! I mean, I was on a case to find a missing girl! Sure, I did find her… I just wasn’t expecting the owner of the club she frequented to have a problem. If only Mire-chan wasn’t quick to pay me off to kick me out. I’m pretty open to hearing from both sides of my case after all! Heck, you’d be surprised how many missing cases turn out to be runaways from abusive home situations… It’s a lot.”
“Anyways, I took the money and kinda broke on the deal. I mean can you blame me? I had two pretty ladies crying from both sides! B-But it’s not like I forced anything to happen! I just found little missy outside of the club and told her that when she’s ready, she should eventually make a decision on what to do about her mom. Laws here are pretty nasty when it comes to children so poor girl can get found by someone less forgiving than me and forced back to her mother. Even if she’s close to being an independent adult, which is so unfair. So I gave her my advice: If she feels safe, she calls her mother to negotiate. If not, move. I mean… If I found her, the next guy that gets hired is gonna find her too. I haven’t heard from the daughter since, but man did I get an earful from the mom! And who do I gotta blame for getting me in trouble with clients? It’s all these goodie-goodie people like Mire-chan that just have to make my job so difficult! More than it needs to be!”
Zakari Hiroya
“Zakari Hiroya, age 22, stands at 177 centimeters and weighs 77 kilograms…Uuugh I can’t be mean towards Za-chan! I just… I got curious about him after I just happened to spot him in Roppongi. I mean most people might miss him normally, but I saw him when I was making this risky escape from some bad guys. I didn’t expect to see anyone on the rooftops with me and I don’t think he did either since he didn’t notice me that day. But he was so cool! He was jumping from roof to roof before he disappeared into the night like a pro!”
“So after that, I maybe sorta followed him around whenever work lead me to Roppongi. I know its not nice to do, but I can’t help it! Especially when he finally confronted me, he didn’t threaten me or shoo me away like some creep. He actually said he felt honored that someone was interested in him! E-Even if I lied to him, it made me feel happy that he wasn’t weirded out by me. Since then, we’ve been friendly with each other so I’ve stopped sneaking around him as much. I still have yet to see Za-chan actually perform, but its mostly because I’m kinda afraid of stepping on Mire-chan’s toes.”
Private Party
“Ehehe the name perfectly suits them! Especially if they banished little ol me from ever coming into Gypsy’s Palace… But I’m only saying that so they can keep thinking they totally succeeded in stopping me from doing my job. Hey, I have my ways to get into places even after I’ve been kicked! Ah, but me admitting that on air means Mire-chan’s going to be on alert for me again, huh? Hopefully my cases don’t take me there anytime soon! I’d hate to throw a rap battle in the middle of their club. It would like, totally suck!”

posting this mostly to remind myself that im actually capable of writing, even if i have been having a difficult time with it as of late. anywho, here's some of the college exes fic~
Carlos steps into the diner and gives his name to the young woman at the counter. She turns away to go and grab his order. Left alone, Carlos looks around absentmindedly, his heart slamming against his chest as he spots an all too familiar face.
Much like the first time he ever saw TK, Carlos is treated to a view of his profile. It’s only a partial glimpse and yet it’s enough to make his insides come alive.
TK runs a hand through his hair. It leaves the strands a bit disheveled. Carlos can feel his traitorous heart swoop at the sight.
The cashier returns, handing him his bag and wishing him a good day.
Carlos falters. He could leave right now without saying a word and not change a single thing between them. TK looks deep in thought as he writes in a notebook. Whatever it must be, TK is focused as he jots down his words.
Curiosity gets the best of him; Carlos can’t help but to study him for a moment. He wonders what it is that TK’s working on.
If he’s being honest with himself, he’s been curious about TK since the day they ran into each other at the farmer’s market.
From the moment he saw TK’s face fall after his hesitation, Carlos has been wanting to make amends. Running into him now, yet another accident, feels a lot like the universe giving him a second chance to get this right.
TK looks up and his eyes land on Carlos immediately, as if he could sense himself being watched. The man’s eyes widen a bit, his shoulders seeming to tense at once. He looks like a deer caught in headlights, an animal worried it has now become prey.
Carlos offers a small wave, gauging TK’s willingness to see him now and hoping to reassure him. TK, even from this distance, looks panicked, but he waves back.
It makes Carlos’ heart sink a bit. He supposes this is to be expected, but the last thing he wants is for things to be awkward or strained between them. To be the reason TK feels that way.
Nonetheless, Carlos takes it as an opening and crosses the diner to him. TK closes the book he’d been writing in and as Carlos draws nearer, he sees that it’s a leather-bound journal.
Carlos gets settled into the seat across from TK and is instantly transported through time.
It’s impossible to shake the feeling of deja vu. This reminds Carlos so much of the first time he and TK ever hung out. He wishes for the buffer of Paul and Nancy to help settle the nerves taking over him now.
Back then, TK was virtually a mystery. Now he knows him in ways he’ll never be able to forget.
“Hi,” TK greets tentatively.
“Hey,” Carlos says back. Suddenly all words are seemingly wiped clean from his mind, leaving him to sit in a silence so pronounced, it’s all-consuming.
He looks around before focusing back on TK.
“Is this okay?” he asks, frowning a bit. “I mean…I know you invited me for coffee the other day, but…”
TK nods. “It’s alright. I shouldn’t have pushed things. I didn’t mean to put you on the spot like that or to make you uncomfortable. I’m really sorry about that.”
Carlos’ brows furrow.
“You didn’t. Honestly, I was just caught off guard.”
TK seems to consider this for a moment and nods again. Silence falls between them and Carlos wishes he could figure out the right combination of words to get them past this point.
A waitress comes over to their table with a pot of coffee in her hand.
“Refill?” she asks TK.
He nods and looks up at her.
“Yes, please. Thank you.”
She fills his cup and looks between Carlos’ takeout and him.
“And you, dear?”
Carlos shakes his head. “I’m all set, but thank you.”
She smiles at the two of them before heading off and plunging them back into awkward silence.
TK’s hands cup his mug, his shoulders hunching.
“I don’t even know where to start,” TK says slowly. “I’ve thought of little else over the last five years. I thought I knew what I’d want to say to you if I ever got the chance. I must’ve pictured it about a million times. But now that you’re actually here…,” he trails off.
Carlos can’t help but to notice how difficult it seems for TK to look him in the eyes for more than a few seconds at a time. It breaks his heart. There used to be a time when it seemed like TK could never look away.
