after further review I have concluded that HTTYD 1 is actually the best out of the trilogy, not HTTYD 2
#httyd 1 has the best story httyd 2 has the best visuals httyd 3 exists I guess#my biggest issues with 2 is pacing copycat alpha dragon and the villain is 2 generic#3 has a better villain but I just didnt care by that point like you know they're gonna be fine idk you know he doesn't matter#but in 2 like...stoick reunites with valka and then dies 10min after there's 0 room to breathe#toothless in 2 is just reduced to transportation dog#3 had so much potential with the hidden world glowing stuff to only give us 5min of it...sad#the style from httyd 1 is so unique and ugly but charming and by 3 its smooth Disneyfied faces#Astrid turns into an Elsa knock-off#ok rant over good night#httyd

actually also?? it literally only makes sense if she was killing to keep nicky alive? because like... if she really was only killing for power them wtf was she doing with it? she and nicky are literally homeless, itinerant, hungry. Nicky has to sing for money and food at one place. If Agatha was simply taking that power for herself then she would have gotten them 'back on top' without the need for any of that. She would have made Nicky comfortable and warm, dressed them both finely, found them a good house to live in. she wouldn't have had her (probably tubercular) small son sleep out in the cold woods in raggedy clothing. the only way it adds up is if the power was immediately being drained into keeping Nicky alive.
#of course the problem is that it was actually very important to actually show this onscreen!!#like literally. just have a gentle scene in the aftermath of a killing#that shows nicky sleeping bathed in a soft maternal purple glow or something while agatha watches him tiredly and lovingly#perhaps show her own face shrivelling a little as she feeds the power into his tiny body#before smoothing back into agatha exhausted and worried and loving#It would have been very easy to show#agatha all along#my post#agatha harkness

#my art#mission to zyxx#C-53#pleck decksetter#dar mtz#ok time for some of my appearance headcanons#i was just gonna give c little dot eyes but i was goofing around with the doodle#and i was like. oh actually little light up ocular sensors that look like 👁️👁️ are kinda funny#i'm kinda trying to hit the space where the juck bot frame could conceivably have the same inner workings as the c frame#but it's got more like. idk plating and synthetic skin and stuff#i also think that ideally this type of frame is supposed to be more fully covered? with skin. less visible joints#and is supposed to have a cooler better looking face#but they got it at a discount store that sorta refurbished it juuuuuuust well enough to sell#they also mention in the show that the eyes glow and the jaw comes off#if there were any other details i forgot about them#i like tellurians to be Pretty Much Human#but I do like the pointy ears interpretation for one main reason:#i can put perfect little pointy ones on tellurians that are the Standard for good looks (rolphus etc.)#and give pleck ones that are slightly larger and a little bent. i just think that's fun#i'm also a short pleck truther and do not believe he is skinny. that man is at least midsized. actually probably just midsized#cause if he were too big he would be too cool#ohh and first time drawing the k'hekk eye yayyyy. it should probably be nastier but i can only do so much#dar i really imagine round cause it's like the classic Big Guy shape and they have no bones in their head so it can't be that structured#bodywise my design is def inspired by tikkitronictonic and snuffysbox's designs#i was at a total loss on how to interpret the talons and chutes and flaps when I was listening and this is easy and smooth#maybe the only major difference is that i imagine dar is pretty hygienic and furry scales feel like they'd be hard to keep clean#with all the uh. goings on#so i've got those across the chest and arms and then the torso is smoother in my mind#also ik dar is supposed to be like twice pleck's size but it's hard to stand these people next to each other#my brother said they made up a thing called mass shifting in transformers g1 to excuse the scale issues. so i'll do it too. get off my case

I used AssetStudio to export models from Ink Machine & Dark Revival, then had to troubleshoot their textures into Blender. Couldn't find any armatures therein, but I did get this model comparison! Left is Dark Revival's, right is Ink Machine's.
#em.txt#batim#batdr#malice#they made her wasp waist slightly wider#it is a glow up it's very neat. however they still did the thing where she has the same body model as allison#& maybe it's intentional at this point ya know? but i can still not like it#idk if it's like concept or bonus att but that piece of her in the butcher apron always comes to mind#when i look at her full body bc she has like. little to no detailing below her shoulders#& just an apron with some ink splats would be something okaii kinda a pyramid head serve ig#also being able to look at the character here without the way the games interact with the lighting/textures on the ink#makes her look so smooth#i dislike how light interacts with ink in these games but I don't think it's bad on her model#on models with a lot more polygons bent all at odd angles like a searcher it looks bad#it looks fine on her & also it's nice to see her without it
