[ 🍦 ] - going out for ice cream late at night (Izzy)
(i apologize in advance how dumb this is but this is literally how they all bullshit in my head at any given time in the day 🙃)
--
[sometime in the future]
“God, you’re so boring now we can’t go out clubbing,” Luca complained teasingly, nudging Izzy with his shoulder. “You just had to go and get yourself knocked up, didn’t you?”
Izzy nudged him back, a dollop of her expensive gelato going flying as she did so. “Hey, it’s not like we’ll never go out dancing again. Besides, isn’t your man keeping you busy with work of your own these days?”
Luca scooped up another spoon of salted caramel ice cream. For a brief, insane moment, he’d considered trying something different like hokey pokey or choc chip but in the end, he’d found his favourite and had no interest in exploring other options.
A bit like how he felt about Ryan the first time they’d met. “Yeah, it’s been pretty fun. And Ry is really happy to be back in the air so much.”
“Is it weird? Having to step back now that Skye’s son is older?”
“Nah. I like having Ryan to myself to be honest. And plus, it means I can come visit your lame ass more often.”
Izzy blew a raspberry in his direction, making him laugh. He was teasing. There was absolutely nothing lame about Isobel Morrisini, queen of the Italian underworld and close ally to the O’Riain clan. She perched beside him on the edge of the penthouse’s private gardens, watching the eternal city that was Roma pass by below, beautiful and serene. From here, the ancient coliseum and scattered ruins were bathed in gold light. Luca loved visiting Izzy and Nico in Rome, but already he was homesick with the insistent tug calling back to the highlands and the stones.
“How far along are you now?”
Izzy rubbed her belly, the swell there only just starting to be obvious through the flowery sundress she wore. “Almost eight months. Sometimes it feels like it’s taking forever, sometimes I worry it’s going too fast. We’ve both wanted this so much.”
“I’m glad Vito’s gone now,” Luca said quietly, digging around for the last dregs of caramel. “You won’t have to look over your shoulder anymore.”
Izzy gave him a telling glance. “Nor you. Lainey’s gone?”
“Yeah. Ry dealt with her. I should have let him deal with her years ago when she first started her shit but I was… I dunno. I think I was kinda smug. I didn’t know she could be so dangerous.”
“I don't think anyone could have. But she’s gone now. They both are. Now we get to live the rest of our lives with the men we love.”
“Yeah,” Luca brightened then swung his legs around to climb off the edge. He helped Izzy up too. “God, if Nico sees you like this, he’s gonna freak.”
Izzy laughed. “Oh, he knows. He just knows better than to argue with me now.”
“Still, precious cargo and all that.” Luca gestured to her belly.
“Do you want to feel him kick?”
“What?”
“The ice cream must have woken him up. He’s moving around.”
Luca found himself morbidly curious. Not that he hadn’t been around babies, Kate and Skye pumping them out like it was going out of style, but it was another thing entirely to feel one moving around on the inside.
It kinda grossed him out a little.
Izzy laughed at the expression on his face. “Luca!”
“What! Sorry, I know it’s the miracle of creation and blah blah, but like, isn’t it just, fucking weird? Like… that. In… there. I’m-“
Luca pulled a face, only causing Izzy to laugh harder. “It’s really not that weird.”
“Not to you,” Luca sniffed, but he gingerly poked her belly, only for Izzy to roll her eyes and flatten his palm against the curve of her stomach. “This feels very hetero,” he muttered, only for Izzy to shush him.
At first there was nothing, then a tiny little flutter. His eyes widened. “Holy shit!”
“See,” Izzy looked smug. “Not so weird.”
“Wow. Okay,” Luca pulled his hand away. “So if it’s a boy, you’re gonna call him Luca, right?”
Izzy covered her mouth, trying to hide her laugh. “Um. No.”
“Come on, it’s a good name. And I totally just bought you that gelato and snuck you onto the roof so like, naming your first born after me totally seems like a pretty good deal.”
“Your husband’s black credit card bough the gelato,” Izzy corrected, sweeping past Luca in a swirl of flowing sundress.
He trotted after her, undeterred. “Do you know what Luca means? Bringer of Light. Ry says it's perfect because I remind him of sunshine. How cool is that?”
“Luca-“ Izzy started.
“See, just look how much you already love saying it.”
“Oh for god’s sake,” she melted against him, clutching his arm and finally giving up on holding in her laughter. He giggled right alongside her until they made it downstairs and back onto the street. Across the road, the gelato sign was still lit up in a neon glow and the two black cars flanked its shopfront, ready to take them home once they’d had their fun.
Izzy’s hand tightened on his arm. “You know. I’m not sure I’m ready to go home yet.”
“Aren’t your feet aching? And other pregnant lady stuff? Kate always complains about her back hurt-ow!”
Izzy pinched his side, hard. “You are such a brat.”
“I know,” he grinned then tugged her back across the street. “Come on, let’s get seconds then!”

There was little else in the plastic sheeted room, just a chair and a metal table that displayed an array of ordinarily innocuous devices. There were knives, a hammer, screwdrivers, ropes, a gag, cattle prods, even chains.. but in this room, they brought a prevailing sense of horror.
She knew what would happen here. Blood would splatter on the plastic sheets, and blood would drip to the floor like rain on a window frame.
Kate stood in the centre of it, waiting for the revulsion to hit.
It never came.
“Katie girl? Katie, no, what are you doing in here?”
She turned at the sound of his voice. The sheets of plastic hanging from the ceiling rustled heavily as he stepped through.
She could see the apprehension on his face, the sinking of his heart. There was no going back from this. No hiding what he did, what he does for his Family, as the right hand, as the enforcer. Rourke hadn’t hidden it but he hadn’t flaunted it either. And until now, Kate had been willing to turn a blind eye to the quiet disappearances and bloodied knuckles and the weapons laid oh so carefully on the counter before he kissed her.
She turned a blind eye to it because she didn’t care. Nothing could make her love him any less and a part of her wondered… wondered how she could become that person to be glad he did what he did.
“I wanted to see.”
“It’ll be ugly, Katie,” he said softly. He hadn’t moved to touch her, as though he was worried she would shake him off, so she went to him instead.
“It’s for them, isn’t it? The ones that took Luca and I?”
Rourke’s gaze was steady. Kate could see why Skye and Ryan leaned on him so much. He was steady. Calm, solid like a rock and just as cold when he needed to be.
His hand cupped her face, a rough thumb brushing over her cheekbone so gently. There was violence under his skin but gentleness only for her.
“Yeah, baby. It is.” He tucked a strand of her dark hair behind her ear and kissed her forehead. “We’re going to make them pay for what they did. We’re gonna send Vito Morrisini a message.”
Kate found herself gripping his wrist and pressing against him. His arms folded around her and she closed her eyes to focus on the thump of his heartbeat under her ear as she clung to him.
Her mouth found his ear. “Good. Make them suffer.”

So I decided to make my own ACOTAR fancast because I've been seeing a lot of them lately, and I just can't understand why some people are casting white men as the bat boys. I've been seeing people casting Matthew Daddario and Tom Ellis as Azriel or Rhys and Henry Cavill as Cassian and I'm like???? The fancasts for Mor and Amren bother me a little, too, because they're usually pale. Amren is clearly described as having tan/brown skin, and although Mor is blonde, she also is described as having golden brown skin. Newsflash, people of color can be naturally blonde. If you want proof, look at Sofia Vergara.
However, I can understand why people might fancast Mor as a white woman because I know we don't often see blonde women of color, and when we hear that someone is blonde, we tend to just assume they are white as most blondes are white. But for me, there's no excuse for making Amren pale or have white skin. There are plenty of darker skinned East Asians out there, whose complexion unfortunately makes them targets of ridicule because of colorism in Asia. I understand that people aren't doing this with harmful intentions, but I just wanted to point this out because it is problematic. It is especially frustrating to me as a person of color to see white people being cast as my fellow POCs, so I made my own fancast. I hope you guys enjoy!
Akash Kumar as Rhys & Lauren de Graaf as Feyre
Vito Basso as Cassian & Yulia Rose as Nesta
Marlon Teixeira as Azriel & Bridget Satterlee as Elain (The prettiest couple in Prythian✨)
Zeline Prabowo as Amren & Sierra Skye as Morrigan
Rania Benchegra as Emerie & Madeline Ford as Gwyn (My babies 🥺)
I hope you guys enjoyed my fancast! And please for the love of god stop casting white men as the bat boys. Please. It literally shaves 10 years off my lifespan whenever I see it.

I figure it may be useful to give a list of the games featured and which characters belong to which game, since I haven’t yet started to implement specific tags for the games. So, below the cut is a list of dating sims and games with dating sim elements I have played, and the OCs created for different routes and choices within said games that will be mentioned in future on this blog. The more I do and play, this will get updated.
Dear god there’s a lot of them...I have a problem, you guys...

“Who is the guy in the basement making such a racket?” Luca demanded, sweeping into the study where Ryan conducted a good portion of his Family business. He was in the chair by the window while Rourke paced.
“One of Vito Morrisini’s men,” Ryan told him, looking up. Rourke paused his pacing to watch as Luca made a beeline for Ryan’s lap, interrupting whatever it was they had been discussing. Luca knew he was well used to it by now so Luca ignored him as he straddled his lover’s thicker thighs.
“Hi, daddy,” Luca whispered, cupping Ryan’s face in his hands as he leaned in to whisper against his ear.
Ryan’s answering rumble sent a shiver of delight down Luca’s spine.
Three point five seconds after that, what Ryan had said about Vito finally registered. Luca pulled back from the kiss he’d been angling for and wrinkled his nose instead. “Wait a minute, did you say one of Vito’s guys?”
Ryan’s blue eyes looked stormier than usual. He looked angry. Luca glanced back over his shoulder at Rourke before sliding off Ryan’s lap and back to his feet with a sigh. Now that he was paying closer attention, Rourke looked pretty damn pissed too.
“What’s going on?”
Rourke and Ryan shared an indiscernible look but it was Rourke that answered.
“Looks like the Morrisini’s are getting pushy again. We caught Vito’s man sniffing around the docks. Trying to pay off the harbor master.” Rourke snorted, shaking his head. “Like he’s gonna be swayed by the Morrisini’s pathetic little offer.”
“He knows what will happen if he even thinks about turnin’,” Ryan snarled. Ice clinked as he picked up the glass of whiskey from the side table. “Every last one of ‘em. Gone to the fookin’ dogs.”
“Which is why we have him in our basement,” Rourke supplied at Luca’s raised eyebrow. “Let’s just say we’re going to hold him for safe keeping until the rest of the family arrives.”
“The rest of them? Coming here?”
“No,” Ryan said grimly, taking a sip. “Just one.”
--
Luca listened to Ryan and Rourke talk strategy while he basked in the warmth of the fireplace for a while. He still hadn’t got quite used to the drafty Scottish castle, even if Ryan and Skye had taken pains to modernize it where they could. Luca didn’t mind so much though. There was something special about being laid down on a fur blanket in front of a fireplace and fucked into oblivion. He wasn’t sure he’d ever get sick of it.
He waited until some sort of consensus had been met before finally succumbing to boredom. He piped up, “Oh, Rourke. I think Kate was looking for you earlier. Something about some a new dish? I’m not sure what she-”
Rourke’s head swivelled around, pinning Luca with a look. “What? Why the hell didn’t you say anything earlier?”
Luca shrugged lazily as he lifted his arms above his head to give his spine a good stretch. “I don’t know. Forgot, I guess?”
Rourke cursed then turned to Ryan, who waved him off without hesitation.
Luca snickered as the door slammed shut behind Rourke. Then he was rising to his feet and sashaying his way across the carpet. He climbed back into Ryan’s lap to straddle him.
His lips found Ryan’s neck, mouthing along the warm skin there and breathing in his familiar scent. “She’s not, by the way. I just wanted to get rid of him.”
Ryan’s low laughter rumbled in his chest. “If ye weren’t, then I was, boy.” Ryan’s words were accompanied by two heavy hands on Luca’s hips. “I wanted you to myself. Especially in this.”
“Oh,” Luca leaned back, grinning coyly. “This old thing?” He tugged on the delicate threads of the robe he’d found lying across the foot of their bed a few hours earlier. “I’m not sure where it came from. I must have a secret admirer, some mysterious benefactor or-”
Ryan grunted, making Luca laugh. “Nothing mysterious about it,” he muttered, sounding put out even though Luca knew he was anything but. It put Luca in a playful mood.
He pushed one sleeve off to expose the curve of his shoulder and fluttered his eyelashes. “Does it suit me?”
Ryan raked his gaze up and down Luca’s body – starting from his curls, all the way down. Luca smirked again, confident that he knew the older man liked what he saw - which was why he froze when Ryan only lifted one shoulder in half a shrug and said, “Mmm. Passable.”
For a second, the response didn’t register inside Luca’s brain. Then it did.
“Passable?” Luca hissed angrily, seconds away from launching himself off Ryan’s lap. Ryan sensed his intention and held him down, laughing quietly as Luca tried to squirm out of his grip.
“Aye, boy. But only because I actually prefer it off. Maybe on the floor, in fact.”
Ryan accompanied his statement with his inked hands pulling on the tie of the robe, causing the whole outfit to fall free and hang loose from Luca’s body. It didn’t do anything to hide the aroused state Luca was in. Just the sound of Ryan’s low chuckles were like warm honey and the older man’s heavy hands on his hips were possessive and hungry and then Ryan was curling into him, his mouth on Luca’s bare nipple, licking and sucking until Luca was writhing in a whole different way in his lap.
Luca clutched Ryan’s head, gasping as the sparking bolts of pleasure shot through his body. “Blake,” he moaned, tossing his head back. Nipple play always confused him – on one hand, he wanted to lean into it, on the other, the sensations were too intense sometimes he wanted to push away. He likened it to when Ryan had made him cum too many times in quick succession – over sensitive but it felt so damn good he just wanted more.
Ryan knew just what effect his mouth was having, kissing a path between the faint valley on Luca’s chest while Luca whimpered.
“Much better like this,” Ryan said, shoving the rest of the material off Luca’s body. Without the robe, he was utterly naked. He hadn’t bothered with briefs – why would he, when past experience had told him they only got in the way. “Look at ye. Fookin’ beautiful. My beautiful boy.”
Even all shivery and trembling, Luca couldn’t help tossing his head and preening. Ryan made him feel like a precious gem – he wouldn’t ever get enough of it.
“All yours,” he cupped Ryan’s head again, forcing their eyes to meet. Just then, Luca became acutely aware of the position he was in – straddling his lover on a huge wingback chair, utterly naked and already so hard he was drooling a trail of precum over Ryan’s dark denim jeans. “So what are you gonna do about it, daddy?”

The Morning After - Oscars 2019 Edition
My favourite photo from the 91st Academy Awards
My two favourite moments from last night’s Oscars are better represent in audio, those being Olivia Coleman’s speech when she won Best Actress over the heavily favoured Glenn Close, and when Rayka Zehtabchi exclaimed “I can’t believe a film on menstruation won an Oscar!”
It was fun keeping up with everyone’s reactions and remarks during the awards, and chiming in with many of my own even though I do, as always, find the speed of twitter a little breakneck. Also friends and colleagues who, knowing that I’m a big movie buff, came by or message me to discuss last night’s show. At times we got animated enough that random passerbys and company VPs felt the need to chime in, which is the best gathering of the minds possible in my world.
Here’s a list of the winners and what I thought of each recipient:
Best Picture
“Black Panther”
“BlacKkKlansman”
“Bohemian Rhapsody”
“The Favourite”
“Green Book” (WINNER)
“Roma”
“A Star Is Born”
“Vice”
While not entirely classy of Spike Lee to turn his back when Green Book was announced, he was able to joke about it later that every time a film about driving was pit against his own film, he would lose to it (Do the Right Thing lost to Driving Miss Daisy) My silver lining was knowing that TIFF audiences picked yet another Best Picture winner. We do have quite a track record, don’t we? I really thought the Academy was going to make a different type of history in diversity by awarding a foreign film (Roma) with Best Picture. Or at least Black Panther, that would’ve been cool too.
Director
Spike Lee, “BlacKkKlansman”
Pawel Pawlikowski, “Cold War”
Yorgos Lanthimos, “The Favourite”
Alfonso Cuarón, “Roma” (WINNER)
Adam McKay, “Vice”
I agree with this win.
Lead Actress
Yalitza Aparicio, “Roma”
Glenn Close, “The Wife”
Olivia Colman, “The Favourite” (WINNER)
Lady Gaga, “A Star Is Born”
Melissa McCarthy, “Can You Ever Forgive Me?”
I was ecstatic to have guessed wrong in my Oscar picks for this category. Both Olivia Coleman and Glenn Close were such strong contenders (as was Melissa McCarthy). Glenn Close carried her film, Olivia Coleman elevated her already very good movie to another level.
Lead Actor
Christian Bale, “Vice”
Bradley Cooper, “A Star Is Born”
Willem Dafoe, “At Eternity’s Gate”
Rami Malek, “Bohemian Rhapsody” (WINNER)
Viggo Mortensen, “Green Book”
It’s nice that Rami Malek won, and I guessed he would. But I think Christian Bale was still better.
Original Song
“All The Stars” from “Black Panther” by Kendrick Lamar, SZA
“I’ll Fight” from “RBG” by Diane Warren, Jennifer Hudson
“The Place Where Lost Things Go” from “Mary Poppins Returns” by Marc Shaiman, Scott Wittman
“Shallow” from “A Star Is Born” by Lady Gaga, Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando, Andrew Wyatt and Benjamin Rice (WINNER)
“When A Cowboy Trades His Spurs For Wings” from “The Ballad of Buster Scruggs” by David Rawlings and Gillian Welch
I don’t think any other song legitimately had a chance.
Original Score
“BlacKkKlansman,” Terence Blanchard
“Black Panther,” Ludwig Goransson (WINNER)
“If Beale Street Could Talk,” Nicholas Britell
“Isle of Dogs,” Alexandre Desplat
“Mary Poppins Returns,” Marc Shaiman, Scott Wittman
One last time I’ll say this: Where was First Man? After not seeing it on the list I really had no one to root for.
Adapted Screenplay
“The Ballad of Buster Scruggs,” Joel Coen , Ethan Coen
“BlacKkKlansman,” Charlie Wachtel, David Rabinowitz, Kevin Willmott, Spike Lee (WINNER)
“Can You Ever Forgive Me?,” Nicole Holofcener and Jeff Whitty
“If Beale Street Could Talk,” Barry Jenkins
“A Star Is Born,” Eric Roth, Bradley Cooper, Will Fetters
I think a writing Oscar is an excellent award for Spike Lee to win. I’m rarely familiar with the original story vs its adaptation, therefore it’s hard to say who did the best job of adapting their source material. That said, any way you slice it, BlacKkKlansman was a great script.
Original Screenplay
“The Favourite,” Deborah Davis, Tony McNamara
“First Reformed,” Paul Schrader
“Green Book,” Nick Vallelonga, Brian Currie, Peter Farrelly (WINNER)
“Roma,” Alfonso Cuarón
“Vice,” Adam McKay
While I put my money on Green Book, I can’t fathom why anyone would think it’s a better script than The Favourite nor Vice (I didn’t see First Reformed, and I think Roma is at least on par with Green Book) Destroyer was an original script right? I’m personally disappointed it wasn’t up for any writing awards.
Live Action Short Film
“Detainment,” Vincent Lambe
“Fauve,” Jeremy Comte
“Marguerite,” Marianne Farley
“Mother,” Rodrigo Sorogoyen
“Skin,” Guy Nattiv (WINNER)
I didn’t watch any of the shorts this year.
Visual Effects
“Avengers: Infinity War”
“Christopher Robin”
“First Man” (WINNER)
“Ready Player One”
“Solo: A Star Wars Story”
Again, please to be wrong in this category. If anything I would have said First Man stood out more in audio achievement, but visual effects were also excellent and I’m glad the film got at least one Oscar because it is such a fine technical achievement.
Documentary Short Subject
“Black Sheep,” Ed Perkins
“End Game,” Rob Epstein, Jeffrey Friedman
“Lifeboat,” Skye Fitzgerald
“A Night at the Garden,” Marshall Curry
“Period. End of Sentence.,” Rayka Zehtabchi (WINNER)
Amazing acceptance speech. I want to see this now.
Animated Short
“Animal Behaviour,” Alison Snowden, David Fine
“Bao,” Domee Shi (WINNER)
“Late Afternoon,” Louise Bagnall
“One Small Step,” Andrew Chesworth, Bobby Pontillas
“Weekends,” Trevor Jimenez
Also a fine, inspiring acceptance speech by Domee Shi. I didn’t see any other shorts but I did watch Bao several times over and my Torontonian pride swelled when it won. Growing up Asian, there’s a lot of embedded humour in this short as well, the husband character is still my absolute favourite.
Animated Feature
“Incredibles 2,” Brad Bird
“Isle of Dogs,” Wes Anderson
“Mirai,” Mamoru Hosoda
“Ralph Breaks the Internet,” Rich Moore, Phil Johnston
“Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, Rodney Rothman (WINNER)
I really gotta see this movie.
Supporting Actor
Mahershala Ali, “Green Book” (WINNER)
Adam Driver, “BlacKkKlansman”
Sam Elliott, “A Star Is Born”
Richard E. Grant, “Can You Ever Forgive Me?”
Sam Rockwell, “Vice”
As expected. Though Richard E Grant is still my favourite, anyone catch his interview with Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet? And how he’s besties with Melissa McCarthy now? Love it.
Film Editing
“BlacKkKlansman,” Barry Alexander Brown
“Bohemian Rhapsody,” John Ottman (WINNER)
“Green Book,” Patrick J. Don Vito
“The Favourite,” Yorgos Mavropsaridis
“Vice,” Hank Corwin
Fixing up a film in editing doesn’t warrant it as best edited film of the year! I cannot believe Bohemain Rhapsody won in this category. Especially again films such as The Favourite and Vice, the former’s editing has a hand in shaping its visual mastery, the latter is entirely built from the art of editing. What the hell?
Foreign Language Film
“Capernaum” (Lebanon)
“Cold War” (Poland)
“Never Look Away” (Germany)
“Roma” (Mexico) (WINNER)
“Shoplifters” (Japan)
Capernaum was still better ;)
Sound Mixing
“Black Panther,” Steve Boeddeker, Brandon Proctor and Peter Devlin
“Bohemian Rhapsody,” Paul Massey, Tim Cavagin and John Casali (WINNER)
“First Man,” Jon Taylor, Frank A. Montaño, Ai-Ling Lee and Mary H. Ellis
“Roma,” Skip Lievsay, Craig Henighan and José Antonio García
“A Star Is Born,” Tom Ozanich, Dean Zupancic, Jason Ruder and Steve Morrow
-and-
Sound Editing
“Black Panther,” Benjamin A. Burtt, Steve Boeddeker
“Bohemian Rhapsody,” John Warhurst (WINNER)
“First Man,” Ai-Ling Lee, Mildred Iatrou Morgan
“A Quiet Place,” Ethan Van der Ryn, Erik Aadahl
“Roma,” Sergio Diaz, Skip Lievsay
Just because a film is about music doesn’t automatically qualify it for best sound! Have all the Academy voters gone out of their mind??? If you’re gonna go by that misguided logic then at least give it to A Star is Born. It’s been a day and I still can’t fathom how anyone could think the sound editing of Bohemian Rhapsody is better than First Man, A Quiet Place, and Roma!
Cinematography
“Cold War,” Lukasz Zal
“The Favourite,” Robbie Ryan
“Never Look Away,” Caleb Deschanel
“Roma,” Alfonso Cuarón (WINNER)
“A Star Is Born,” Matthew Libatique
This was a pretty stacked category and Alfonso Cuaron did make a beautiful looking film. I don’t know if it was more striking that Cold War or The Favourite, but all in all he did deserve the win.
Production Design
“Black Panther,” Hannah Beachler (WINNER)
“First Man,” Nathan Crowley, Kathy Lucas
“The Favourite,” Fiona Crombie, Alice Felton
“Mary Poppins Returns,” John Myhre, Gordon Sim
“Roma,” Eugenio Caballero, Bárbara Enrı́quez
Fine. At least it wasn’t Roma, and I get that more often than not the period film usually wins it, so it’s cool to shake it up. The Favourite is still my fav.
Costume Design
“The Ballad of Buster Scruggs,” Mary Zophres
“Black Panther,” Ruth E. Carter (WINNER)
“The Favourite,” Sandy Powell
“Mary Poppins Returns,” Sandy Powell
“Mary Queen of Scots,” Alexandra Byrne
Again, I like The Favourite more.
Makeup and Hairstyling
“Border,” Göran Lundström and Pamela Goldammer
“Mary Queen of Scots,” Jenny Shircore, Marc Pilcher and Jessica Brooks
“Vice,” Greg Cannom, Kate Biscoe and Patricia Dehaney (WINNER)
I’d have been surprised if anyone else won.
Documentary Feature
“Free Solo,” Jimmy Chin, Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi (WINNER)
“Hale County This Morning, This Evening,” RaMell Ross
“Minding the Gap,” Bing Liu
“Of Fathers and Sons,” Talal Derki
“RBG,” Betsy West, Julie Cohen
:) That’s the one I picked.
Supporting Actress
Amy Adams, “Vice”
Marina de Tavira, “Roma”
Regina King, “If Beale Street Could Talk” (WINNER)
Emma Stone, “The Favourite”
Rachel Weisz, “The Favourite”
I preferred Rachel Weisz and Emma Stone’s performances. Amy Adams even.
So, that’s it for awards season 2019. I did pitiful in my predictions this year because I was way off on the technical awards, not to mention some big ones too like Best Picture.
I’ll wrap it up by recommending that you watch First Man (with a good sound set up as it is superb technical, has a great score, and supporting actress Claire Foy), Destroyer (for its story and Nicole Kidman), The Hate U Give (that delivers a much stronger message than Green Book ever will), and Beautiful Boy (where supporting actor Timothee Chalamet actually has a sizable role).
