My hot take is that Syl is not a human child, she's a thousands of years old spren with a temporary cognitive disability. It's one thing to joke about her child-like wonder and presumed innocence, but it's another to take away her responsibility for her choices or to say it's weird to have Sanderson make her "grow up". She's not growing up, she's regaining her cognitive capacity and remembering more of her own life.

Obviously I'm biased because I have cognitive disability/memory problems, which can sometimes get severe, and I become vulnerable. But vulnerable does not equal child. I would not want to be treated like a child when I need extra care and support and guidance. I don't like it when people treat Syl as though she's a child for not remembering how the world works and maintaining her chipper personality through that.

UPDATE: i'm putting xayah's blog temporarily labelled on semi-hiatus. i am still checking the blog and will be doing drafts and queueing/scheduling them but my queue is running out soonish and i won't be starting anything new so i will look dead for a smidge. this is not a loss of xayah's muse. i am just overwhelmed with life atm, my other blogs owe many drafts, and i want to do some minor revamping of my main muse. once i get those blogs back in a good spot, i want to come and move/clean up xayah's pages, fill her queue back up, and then kick some new things off for her! i just. don't want to promise activity here because i can't do it right now. i will try and send memes when i check in on this blog, but please have patience with me for a smidge! i am hoping only a week or two at most because my birb woman deserves attention, i just don't have the time ajfkdl;sja
