alright i’ve finally decided on what characterization i want to give to king spade in the lesser family au
#moonys ramble tag#the answer is 'he's not a terrible father but he's not a good father either'#'he tries but not enough'#this is way before he meets the knight so he's just like- not great at being a father but also not actively harmful#rouxls is very nervous around him when it comes to lancer because he already spent years being a glorified babysitter#sirius is a lot more direct in trying to push spade into better parenting because he hasn't been around the king for too long#and also because he sees how much lancer adores his father and he believes spade should be there for his son#i also think it's more angsty (fun >:D) if spade is genuinely showing some progress in the parenting department#before becoming way worse than before after meeting the knight
