Trick or treat!
Thanks for the ask! :D Here is a scene from my Obi-Wan/Siri established relationship Rohirric AU! They have old English names, but you'll be able to tell who is Siri, Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Ferus at least by the first letter of their name :)
---
Not long after they returned to their little house in Edoras, Aldwine came. Sigewyn ran her eyes over him. He seemed to be well, though grave.
“Mother,” he greeted with a kiss. He sat beside Ordred and accepted a hot bowl of stew.
“Where is Fréawine?” Ordred asked.
“Still with Lord Éomer,” he replied. “There is terrible news: the king’s son is gravely injured. It is unlikely he will survive.”
“That is ill news indeed,” Ordred said, putting a hand over his beard.
Sigewyn paced purposefully around the tiny room. “Perhaps this will wake Théoden King at last. The final days of his own son cannot be taken from him, even by Saruman.”
“You mustn’t say that,” Ordred exclaimed.
Sigewyn raised an eyebrow. “You’re right. His spies are everywhere.”
“I mean that the king still counts Saruman as an ally. We cannot accuse him without proof.”
“It is Saruman,” Aldwine insisted. “The orcs that attacked Théodred’s company at the Fords of Isen were not from Mordor, but Isengard. They bore a sign—the White Hand.”
Ordred sighed. “I don’t want to believe it. I want to think we could still have his wisdom on our side. And not have an enemy on our doorstep.”
“Father, you see the king every day,” Aldwine argued. “You can see the poison of Saruman, through his agent Gríma Wormtongue.”
“Yes, you’ve already said how the Lord Éomer dislikes him and barely follows his orders from the king, but he is a man of Rohan and Théoden’s most trusted advisor.”
“How can you still listen to him? How can you think he is advising in the king’s best interests? He is the voice of Saruman. He’s literally called Wormtongue.”
“My thoughts do not come into the matter. And my loyalty is not to an advisor, but to Théoden King,” Ordred said stiffly.
“As is my loyalty,” Aldwine countered.
Their argument was interrupted by an urgent knock. Sigewyn was closest and opened the door to Fréawine, who swiftly acknowledged his mother and father before addressing his brother.
“Aldwine. You must come quickly.”
He stood. “Why, what has happened?”
Fréawine hesitated. “Lord Éomer has been banished. His Riders are to go with him.”
“What?” Ordred exclaimed.
“I do not understand,” Aldwine said. “Éomer is loyal.”
“Not everyone thinks that.” Fréawine looked distinctly uncomfortable. “And we have not perfectly followed the king’s orders lately.”
“It is not him,” Sigewyn said softly. “Some great evil is at work here.”
The four were silent. At last Fréawine spoke.
“We must gather our horses and leave. We are to be out of the city by dawn.”
Aldwine, startled back to the present, hastily said goodbye. “I have to speak to Padwyn first.”
“Do not tarry, you must not be left behind!” Fréawine called after him, worried about his younger brother as usual. He too bid his shocked and grieved family farewell before setting off for the stables.

banshee: name a definite dealbreaker in a relationship.
kelpie: festivals or concerts?
cyclops: what colour are your eyes?
manticore: picnics or hikes?
(mythological creatures ask)
Thank you so much for the ask! :) Banshee: Different politics is an automatic dealbreaker. I'm ok disagreeing on some things, but if they voted for Trump, it's an automatic no lol.
Kelpie: I'm going to have to go with concerts, but I love festivals too, especially the food! But I think overall I have more good memories of concerts.
Cyclops: My eyes are hazel :) Some days they look more green and sometimes they look more brown.
Manticore: I enjoy both, but I'd have to say hikes. I love hiking and there are a lot of good trails around where I live.

WIP Galore
So, @rai-knightshade nominated me for the following after they were tagged in by someone else:
Write the latest line from your WIP (or post where you last left off in your art), and tag as many people as there are words in the line. Make a new post, don't reblog!
In my case this is a bit problematic, as I've got about five or six things ongoing at once. Some stories, some tabletop, some just ideas that I've noted down as an idea to get back to much later on, and a few that are just bullet points. So, let's just give the quick version.
The first of these was a competition from the Dark Jedi Brotherhood to write a story about a character reflecting upon their mistakes. This is being re-written and expanded upon, but the last line was an amusing one:
No other group their size would have been brazen or determined enough to reach the building amid a storm for just food and drink.
Another one that is a pure monologue, presented as a lesson to an unseen class:
“It shows our true selves, it reveals what we are to the galaxy."
The rest are a mix of ongoing efforts. I'm not about to show off commissions, so here's a bunch of restoration efforts and some personal projects which are in the pipeline.
Starting with a White Scars Kill-Team I'm finishing off:
The previously shown Thunder Warriors (this time with a close-up of a few I'm just presenting here):
A heavily customised Eldar Wraithknight that I started on and has sadly been on the back burner for a bit too long now:
A Bolt Action force that I bought up and I'm repainting (with the gun carrier here as a quick stand-in):
Some Gue'vesa that I'm working up bit by bit, but was delayed due to the wealth of goodies the Imperial Guard/Astra Militarum are getting:
A force of Eldar Exodites (some are done, others I'm working on, so here's the big dinosaur transport):
And a lot of Battletech (the King Crab here is one done by someone else, I'm just finishing it and using it as a reference for the rest of my ComStar mob before I move onto the Nova Cats and Northwind Highlanders):
So, now I need to tag in a few followers. I'm going to fudge the numbers a bit here, but this is everyone I can justify tagging:
@zrinboy (please follow him for tabletop things of every sort)
@royal-occultist-compendium (seriously follow him for brilliant stories)
@loktarogar (lots of fantastic tabletop stuff)
@jayadan (Game store owner, fantastic painter, and brilliant guy)
@carlageddon (a returning face to tabletop gaming with displays from the 90s)
@sirianddeanseethestars (owner of the blog of many fandoms among other things)
@explosiverunes (She with more models than God)
@mxmastermikah (With everything from 40K to Gunpla on their blog)
@radishgnome (with paintings, art and everything besides to show)
@kalamitykas (talented multimedia artist I was very glad to find on here after largely retreating from Twitter)
And that's all I can manage here.

Hi Arda!! Do you have any particular books you'd recommend right now? Some new releases, reads that really touched you, or whatever else you may want to recommend? Feel free to pick any genre/-s.
Thanks for the ask!! :D Here are three I've read this year and would recommend!
Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett - It's 1910ish and Emily is a professor who goes on a research trip to study the local fey - very well written and fun!
The Red House Mystery by A.A. Milne - A delightful English countryside murder from the author of the Winnie the Pooh stories, published in 1922.
The Sword of Kaigen by M.L. Wang - aksjfhajfds this book. It was recommended by @sirianddeanseethestars (my cool martial arts/sword friend, who also recommended Emily Wilde actually, though it has fewer swords) when I told her about the 14-year-old Kazuma fic I wanted to write and oh boy. One of the main characters is like 75% him as a teenager, the fictional setting is sort of traditional Japanese culture in an increasingly modern world (like the Meiji era!) and there were some very cool and very beautiful scenes. I lost sleep from this lol.

12, 13, and 14 for the horror movie ask!
Thank you so much for the ask! :)
a horror movie that stuck with you for weeks after you watched it (give a reason if youd like to)
There have been a lot! I think the very first one that made me feel this way was The Sixth Sense. It hit me really hard during an emotionally difficult time for me, and was also one of the first horror movies I ever saw. I deeply love this film, even to this day, though it doesn't scare me like it did the first time. I just find it to be a very compassionate, kind hearted film and the ending where the little boy tells his mom that his grandma wants her to know she is proud of her makes me cry every time.
a horror movie with the best soundtrack (or! your favorite horror movie soundtracks)
The very best is probably The Thing. Ennio Morricone is my all time favorite film composer and the score is so haunting and intense. Some of my other favorites are John Carpenter's score for Halloween (a classic!) and Johann Johannsson's score for Mandy. As for movies that use pop/rock songs as part of the soundtrack, I have always loved the way the Scream series incorporates music in a very fun way. The "Youth of America" needledrop in the first Scream movie gets me every time.
most memorable/your favorite horror movie trailer(s)
I honestly try not to watch trailers because I enjoy going in blind and I feel like modern trailers give too much away. The trailer for the first Insidious is pretty memorable, and it scared the absolute crap out of me when I was younger.

Thank you @honekujiras for the last line tag!! Sorry it took *checks notes* a month but I was keeping the tab open until I ended an editing session with a line that wasn't spoilery or boring haha
Kazuma closed his eyes, folding his arms close to his chest. “Thank you, Ryunosuke.”
^ The most recent sentence of my WIP, which I'm close to finishing I hope!

18, 19, and 20
Thanks for the ask!
18. Wildest fic you’ve ever written? I wrote a Ratchet/Drift/Deadlock fic once (for non TF fans, Deadlock was Drift’s old name when he was a Decepticon. Basically in my story Deadlock gets summoned from the past.) It’s not meant to be taken super seriously, but it was fun to write that dynamic, especially of how Drift would interact with his former self.
19. Do you prefer canon-compliant, AUs, or something in-between?
I like a little bit of everything, depending on the mood. I guess I usually gravitate towards canon compliant, especially when I’m writing, but I think AUs can be really fun, especially ones that change the timeline of the story and provide a fun “what if” scenario.
20. Gen fic or shippy stuff?
All I’ve written so far is shippy stuff but someday I’d love to do a gen fic and focus more on a friendship or platonic relationship.

@sirianddeanseethestars replied to your post “Have you read any Star Wars novels that you could recommend which...”
Jude Watson is my favorite Star Wars author and I feel like she definitely wrote the Jedi in an accurate and poisitve way. Definitely helped make me the Jedi fan I am today :) I agree with Shatterpoint and rots being good books for the Jedi as well.
I have read the Jedi Apprentice series, though not any of the follow-up series yet (I will get to it eventually though). And while I did enjoy it (alone worth reading for Obi-Wan at one point getting to say the words, “I was unavoidably detained in a freezer.” :D) and do think the series is written to be Jedi-positive, there’s some major snags for me in terms of lining up with my own interpretation of the Jedi.
The big one is that it makes absolutely no sense to me that the Jedi would send kids away from the Temple at 13 if they aren’t chosen as a Padawan by then. Half-trained Force-sensitives (especially if they weren’t disciplined enough to even be chosen as a Padawan) are far more dangerous than untrained ones, and even being sent to different communities that would support them, they’re still in a lot more vulnerable of a position away from the Temple. I just can’t see the Jedi doing that, especially when so much of what they teach is about choosing your path. And 13 is a very human-centric cutoff; seems like it’d get pretty complex considering how many species there are in the Temple.
It’s very much the standard affliction of “let’s send kids on an adventure!” without working through the Fridge Logic of it, and though it’s fairly easy to get past since it’s kind of irrelevant once Qui-Gon takes Obi-Wan on, it is there and it’s often used by the fandom as a condemnation of the Order.
In a similar vein it can be kind of hit or miss how it addresses trauma - when the narrative acknowledges it, the Jedi let and help people work through it, but often the story just moves on to the next adventure without the characters being as affected as they should, which gives the impression of a lack of support (even though that’s not intended). Again, it’s a common affliction of kids’ media, and it’s a little harder to pin down for me what precisely is so unsatisfying about it, but strictly speaking it doesn’t really line up with how I see the Jedi.
But when it comes to what the books actually say the Jedi teach and their sayings and philosophies? Yes, I think it does a good job and is a favorable interpretation of the Jedi Order. I did enjoy it and thought it a worthwhile series, but those couple of things kept it off my list for what @yiliy was asking for.
#thank you for your input though! i appreciate it#responses#sirianddeanseethestars#for whatever reason it won't let me tag you in the post

sirianddeanseethestars replied to your post: “Cas took jack’s side against Dean and god was like “BITCH YOU DONT”...”:
I hated how Cas chose Jack over Dean. Not only was it out of character, it was the wrong choice.
He chose Jack over Dean a long time ago. I hate it too, but that’s how it is.

Also, legitimately, if a url named ANTI NAZI WHITE ADVOCATE agrees with your post, and you follow them/reblog from them... yeah, YOU'RE A NAZI.
That's the most craziest thing to me about all this. We have an actual fucking Nazi on this post and nobody is critical AT ALL?!
Everyone in agreement in the notes, including OP Mandyfem, is either a Nazi or a racist.
really upsetting to see all the mutuals reblogging this post https://www.tumblr.com/a7xlizardqueen/759662235284062208?source=share
including “big” names like eldopism and bitter harpy or whatever. mask off moment. Radblr is insanely racist and they are just ignoring it and somehow switching it around by just saying they’re not. Europeans will be racist in the most insane ways.
im so disappointed they love to use women of color to win arguments but actually hate us and hate our cultures. they see us as others and illegals. Can they honestly say when they dehumanize men from those culture that it doesn’t affect the way they view the women from them?
Hope you are well. Thank you for trying to fight racism on here.
racist woman: calls refugees "illegal immigrants", makes white supremacist claims of "mass immigration", calling male african refugees "lone, undocumented african men with nothing to lose" (does she realise what being a refugee means? they kind of have everything to lose if theyre sent back to a country where they can be killed. most refugees are painfully aware of this and extremely afraid of that outcome btw), saying woc "instantly scream racism", complaining that brown women aren't being called racist for criticising white men (aka claiming reverse racism), dismissal of white privilege, the very subtle "not to mention the threat of terrorism some of these men bring" line where she implies brown ppl = terrorism, etc
hundreds of white women on radblr: sounds about right! *reblog*
