What you're getting: @powluna's adorable Retro Stuff set, recolored in @sourgalaxy's wrapping paper palette & patterns and a selection of @annett85's knit-texture patterns with accent colors from @anachrosims's Georgian palette. The boys' 1960 outfit also has graphics from freepik. Thanks to Pauline's generous TOU meshes aren't required, but you can find the originals here anyway.

underrated aspect of the Sims 4: you can just... kinda buy a rocketship and go to space. There are actual aliens and space adventures going around. Being a space cadet out of a 50s sci-fi novel is a legitimate career choice, but you can also do it in your free time if you want, a spaceship costs 5000 simoleons. You can't drive a car but you can go to space and meet, again, real aliens and space stuff with a spaceship you can buy and build in your backyard. The rest of the world remains completely unchanged by this fact.

Creators

Hello fellow creators! First, let me say this is a positivity post and I'm not slamming anyone, anywhere, for anything, and I'm hoping to not get slammed in return.😅

I wonder if anyone has made a list of creators who don't mind recolours of their work to be shared on CurseForge.

I understand why a lot of people don't want this, but I also don't understand.

If I were to put a recolour on CurseForge, anyone who wanted that recolour would have to go to the original download and grab it, based on the original creator's TOU. Therefore, it's inevitable that your own download count will go up, and you may even get downloads that you wouldn't have otherwise gotten. And if that original download is also on CurseForge, that means more points and potential revenue for you, without costing the downloader anything at all.

What is the harm in helping you get more downloads? What's the difference if the recolours are posted on Tumblr, TSR, CurseForge, etc. as long as the original mesh isn't shared?

I do get that some people feel this might be inappropriate; there are definitely at least 2 sides to every issue. And I have no problem with anyone saying they don't want recolours of their work put on CurseForge for whatever reason, and while I accept it and would never go against anyone's TOU, I also want to say I feel like that point of view might be a little misguided and lacking community spirit.

I personally haven't made a lot of meshes, but I have made some, and anyone can recolour them as long as they point back to the original download for the mesh. I don't care where you put up the recolours as long as it's not behind a paywall. I don't even mind if you do Early Access with it, although, I can't see many of my meshes being used that way lol, but I'm happy if you want to and bonus to you if you earn something from it!! I have been fortunate enough to now earn enough each month to properly pay for the programs (that require it) I use to make my content. This means better support from the companies and a better final product, and more opportunities to expand my work.

Anyway, I just wanted to share my own point of view, and to each their own.

If you're a creator who doesn't mind recolours posted anywhere besides a paywall or on questionable repositories, please feel free to leave a comment saying so. Us recolour renegades would love to help you get more downloads!
