For years, the Capp and Monty clans have been at each other’s throats; yet this hatred cannot stop the younger generation from crossing borders and falling for one another. This hood is not a retelling of Shakespeare's plays, nor is it a mere makeover of the Maxis’ Veronaville. Think of this neighborhood as an alternate universe.

ISSUES THAT I AM AWARE OF:

Some townies’ memories could disappear. It happens even with the mod that forbids the townies from losing their memories. I don't know what the reason is so I recommend checking them before you play the game, namely, by going into the family and teleporting the townies to the resident lot. If the memories are already gone, then please re-download the hood.

Hoodchecker might show some minor errors connected to the wrong memory subjects. This was intentional so don't be alarmed! It doesn't affect your game in any negative way.

Don't try to resurrect Julien Cooke. Just forget about him.

Oberon originally had an overlay with a mechanical prosthetic. But for some reason in some testers’ games the overlay was affecting Oberon's complexion, turning his skintone white… So I removed the overlay entirely. You can add it back if you wish!

VVBS SUBHOOD is a subhood with two major differences from the main hood: it does not contain pictures from Storytelling folder (so the nhood is less heavy) + you can pick and choose whether you want it with or without my custom content.

EXTRA CONTENT folder is not necessary to download; it contains some extra stuff from my project. This file is locked, but you can gather the password in main hood itself through the storytelling pictures and a little game in the community lots (you can find the rules of this game in the description of 2 Pentameter Parkway lot). Think of it as a reward for your attentiveness!

Pretersolaria Institute: CC-Free Uni & Individual Lots

Eventually I want to share the entirety of Rhyolite Valley, but it's a bit hairy with the 47 sims & CC hood deco & the garbage data I let seep in while playing (so I'd have to remake all of that before sharing).

I thought I'd "practice" the process of remaking the hood by starting a little smaller: The uni subhood. Since I only made a handful of sims for it (which are not included... yet) and it works aesthetically without CC hood deco. Sounds simple, right? Weelllll it took about a week of near daily effort to actually do. Makes the prospect of doing the actual hood soooo much more exciting lol /s

Anyway, that's what this is: A new university subhood template that's CLEAN & EMPTY. As a bonus (or if you just don't like the subhood), I've also included individual lot packages for every lot in the subhood to use wherever you want.

The "gimmick" of this hood is that Rhyolite Valley, and by extension Pretersolaria Institute, is entirely self-sufficient & cobbled together by the local residents. Which means there's no indoor plumbing lol.

That also means simply sitting down at a computer to write a term paper isn't as easy as a regular uni. Students have to go to THE BOOKMOBILE to access computers. Same goes for the skill building required for each semester/major. You have to venture out to the relevant community lot to find the means for skill building.

I've included in the uni's photo album & the lot descriptions which skills are available to build on each lot. It'll say "+Cooking" or whatever skill(s) the lot can provide based on the objects it has.

Place the "PRTR" folder in its entirety in the "Program Files > EA GAMES > The Sims 2 University > TSData > Res > NeighborhoodTemplate" directory. Or whatever equivalent location you have for a TS2 University folder in the Program Files section.

Mootilda's Subhood Selection Mod is required to see additional universities below the main 3 pre-made ones.

You can then select Pretersolaria Institute in the list of options when creating a new uni subhood in a neighborhood.

• On 2 lots (Big Heart Dude & Wiploc Amphitheatre), I used the Seasons Music career reward The Rock Hammer for speaker deco. I used MoveObjects to delete the guitar but keep the speakers.

It's possible that either A. The guitars will respawn when you move the lot in the hood, or B. Sims will attempt to play the guitar and complain about being blocked (because I purposely blocked them).

If the guitars respawn, open the lot in Buy/Build mode and with MoveObjects On use the sledgehammer tool to remove the guitar.

If sims are complaining about not being able to reach the guitar, well they're not supposed to be able to lol. If hearing them complain is annoying, you can either use this mod that makes them stop yelling when something blocks them and leaves only the thought bubble, or delete the whole object.

• The Wiploc Amphitheatre may also have some glitchy-looking ground that you can see in neighborhood view when the camera moves. This is because I shortened the lot with Lot Adjuster. I don't know how to make it stop doing that, because I've transferred the lot to other hoods, packaged the lot, Lot Cleaner'd it, Lot Compressor'd it, moved it to the Lots & Houses Bin, etc. and it has never stopped looking like that. So again if that annoys you, remove the lot I guess?

• Please let me know if there are any additional problems.

I've never done this before specifically with a uni subhood, so it's very likely I messed up somewhere.

Guidelines I follow as well as any helpful links to some name generators will be under the cut! ♥

Starting a new Neighborhood can be tough! Where do you even start? Well, this written guide and video above is here to help you get started!

STEP 1: Creating/Choosing a Template - If you want to start from COMPLETELY SCRATCH, open up SimCity 4 and create your own map! - If that's too difficult or you just don't want to (like me!), you can download maps off ModTheSims or use the ones already provided in-game for you! :)

STEP 2: Naming Your Neighborhood/Lots - Take inspiration from real life! - Generators also help A TONNN! Below I linked the ones I like most! Feel free to mix and match them to come up with more unique combinations!

Fantasy Name Generators (Town Names) Mithril And Mages - City Names Sims 2 Name Generator

STEP 3: Lot Planning - Personally, I like to keep Community Lots/Apartments near the center of the map, and Residential homes around the sides/edges - Decide if you want just Small, Medium and/or Large lots in your neighborhood! - Place them around the map to figure out a layout until you are satisfied!

STEP 4: Choosing Your Community Lots - Main Hood Essentials: Cemetery, Restaurant, Park, Clothing Store, Grocery Store - University Essentials: Library, Town Hall, Lounge, Gym - Shopping District Essentials: Everything you can imagine! I also like to leave space for Sims to own their own businesses! I tend to use Shopping Districts as Secondary-Main Neighborhoods! - Downtown Essentials: Bowling Alley, Bar, Restaurant, Cemetery - Vacation Essentials: Hotels, Parks, Landmarks After I have the essentials, I fill in the gaps with whatever I want! Like I added a Car Dealership in my main neighborhood as well as a Cosmetic Surgery clinic! I also added a Train Station in my University!

The Mithril and Mages link above is great to come up with names and business ideas too!

STEP 5: Decorating Your 'Hood - I do this overtime! I don't think there's ever been a time where I've stopped decorating! Start by placing some trees or the flower decorations around the empty lots you placed!

STEP 6: Neighborhood/Lot Descriptions - Personally the hardest thing about Custom Neighborhoods! The good thing though is these can be left blank and nobody would know! - My best advice is to wait until most of the 'hood is built up, and then come with some descriptions! - Photoshopping the pictures like EA/Maxis will create beautiful pictures for the Neighborhood Stories album! (This is another post for another time)

STEP 7: The Families - Can't have a complete neighborhood without Sims and Families! - Use the Random Aspect Generator to come up with various Personalities for your Sims! - If you forgot to use a Clean Template (No Townies), I found a mod that will change up their names! - Take inspiration from TV Shows or the other Sims games! I always tend to recreate the Broke Family's storyline and Malcolm Landgraab's storyline with 2 families in my neighborhoods! (I like having a Rich and a Poor family lmao)

Creating new neighborhoods is always so much fun! I hope some of these guidelines help you get inspired!

Sim State University Dormie Pool

And finally, the Sim State University dormies! All 50 SSU dormies, ready to be added to your dormie-less SSU!

I gave everybody a cellphone and any information the wiki had on them such as LTWs and Interests if they had them. Names will be randomized when you add the pool but you can change them with simpe back to their originals.

Secret Society members have the appropriate token, but I once again did not test to see if they actually are really members whoops. Also, I again may or may not have fixed Jess, Noelle, Sierra and Jihoon's broken faces.

Keep in mind they’re pictured here with my default skin and eyes.

To use the dormie pool, place the SSUD folder into either

C: > Program Files (x86) > Origin Games > The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection > University Life > TSData > Res > NeighborhoodTemplate

or C: > Program Files (x86) > EA Games > The Sims 2 > The Sims 2 University > TSData > Res > NeighborhoodTemplate

or if you have your game installed somewhere else, so long as it winds up in the neighborhood template folder of your university EP.

After that, add it like a normal university. After you add it, you can delete it (provided it’s not the only unversity) and the dormies will stay. I feel like I explained that terribly so let me know if I’m not making sense 😂

✨ As with anything, I highly recommend adding it to a test hood before you add it to your main game. Don’t forget backups! 🙏I warned you! 💕

15. The weirdest glitch I've ever encounter?

Oh boi... My games have a tendency to constantly break on themselves. I'll select a few of my personal favourites, cause over the years I have encountered far too many to keep track of!

For the Sims 2 it's definitely this weird glitch that both my Veronaville AND my Strangetown were thrown back in time at some point. With my Veronaville I could at least make some sense of it due to having One Drive at that time. But Strangerown... I've been playing that game on my computer specifically for Sims 2 for ages. It has no One Drive. And this was literally my back up file lol!

I am thankful for some of the gems it gave me though. As much as I'm pissed that I have to make Mambo Loa adopt a child all over again, except now she's even older and her roommate Oscar is probs gonna become the child's foster parent after her passing... Or the fact that I have to make Tristan, Optimum Alfred and Giuseppi's ENTIRE FAMILY WITH MEMORIES all over again. Plus the fact that the whole GBA/DS side of the hood got wiped but the decor is still there (and the Sims that still do exist, still have the memories to match the passing of time). OR MY DAMN STRANGETOWN CEMETERY/CHURCH... It did create a good story arc for my Strangetown which amplifies my main one about government and alien conspiracy theories plus mind wiping.

Also... Whatever the fuck happened to Loki and Circe for a brief moment. I thought their face data literally got wiped cause when I made them look in the mirror they both ended up with the corrupted faces. Yet when I exited their home and came back they were fine?? What were those two on about lol!

Also... Squishy... We cannot forget the absolute icon that is Squishy. Thank you time machine Veronaville for giving him to me lol!

For Sims 3 it is this weird glitch where as you play a town for a while people, especially children will eventually go missing. They'll still show up in the family trees, but their portraits take a while to load. But they're nowhere to be found and do not even show up in the relationship panels anymore. It's like they just disappeared one day and there's no way to get them back. Super freaky if you ask me!

For Sims 4, I constantly walk against game breaking glitch after game breaking glitch... The funniest one to me however was how Dominic and Duncan's baby kept showing up on the other side of town whenever they came back from work and she came back from daycare. These two dudes, as the exhausted parents they are, actually had to walk (cause God forbid we have cars) with close to no energy every damn time to pick their kid with neglected needs (cause daycare didn't even bother to look after her lol) up!

Another one that made me crack up was how I randomly got a pop up one day that Circe's high school graduation was happening despite the fact that this woman already had both her high school AND university degree in her fucking inventory lol! I just had to go there and see what would happen... Loved seeing her go on stage with all these teens.

Lastly I had this weird glitch that despite having my aging system follow that of the Sims 2, when I went to other households after a while of playing the Newlows and the Beakers, they just... All aged up... At once. Even those I had played for a while previously and were fine back then. This resulted in every damn elder dying at the same time and every damn Sim aging up and being depressed about a missed birthday. And since Jenny was apparently pregnant at this time she became a pregnant elder? What? I didn't even know that was possible lol! At least Patrizo and Isabella got to die together! Sims 4 is a very stable game I swear to God.

1. Continue building Suncreek

I'm not even gonna have as a goal to complete the whole hood because it's more time consuming than I thought it would be (learned that while remaking Belladonna Cove).

I've realized that the hood map is too big so I need to slice it up into subhoods (kind of like districts, if you've ever played the Urbz).

So I'll need to learn how to make my own terrains in SimCity because we're going full custom up in this bitch. Suncreek will still be the main hood though.

I do not look forward to learning how to use SimCity because I find it confusing but luckily @tvickiesims was sweet enough to share some links and tutorials so hopefully I'll figure it out.

2. Make more Townie Pools

It would be nice to have all the stealth hood sims and sims deleted from meetmetotheriver's cleaned hoods as townie pools just to have it completed so I don't have to think about them anymore. They're such a pain in the ass to make XD

I deleted the university townie pools because while the method I used to add them was quick and easy I wasn't happy with the way the game would assign the sims random hobby badges etc. So I'll need to remake them the slow and tedious way.

3. Remake more Maxis Lots

While I want to focus on my custom hood I still want to make the occasional lot makeover (I mean, that's what I do!).

Sometimes I like to work on a random maxis lot just to get a break from the other projects I'm working on. So that's what'll do when I feel burnt out by Suncreek.

2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match? 4t2 maxis match conversions, because it's gross and ugly :p No, but for real, I like all cc. People put a lot of time and love into what they create/convert/retexture/recolor. I think that should be recognized.

3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight? No...who does that?

4. Do you use move objects? Yes, kind of have to sometimes!

5. Favorite mod? I had to go into my main save for this one haha. I'd say...all the anti-corruption mods. And to piggy back off of brandinotbroke, ACR! The rest I could probably live without if I could ever sort my folder. Oh, also, one mod I'd really like to give a try is Story Progression by LazyDuchess.

6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got? First purchased was Christmas 2005. My parents gifted me Sims 2 and then my birthday a month later I got University, I believe. I should show you all the video of me opening it and running off to play haha. First played was, I wanna say Urbz! and Bustin' Out. We would rent those from the video store.

7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing? Alive. I recently found out my IRL BFF pronounces it as Living. I've known her almost 20 years and feel like I don't know her anymore 😅

8. Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made? Rhiannon, one of my model sims, but all 4 of my models are my favorite. I really should put Rhiannon as a townie in my uberhood. She deserves a life outside of posing.

9. Have you made a simself? Yes, like 18 years ago lol. Ended up corrupting the hood trying to move me with my 10 same face kids to a new neighborhood. I've really enjoyed the premade sims ever since.

Currently building/setting up a new uberhood made out of custom populated neighborhoods that I like to play, because I can never decide and stick to one thing. It's mostly desert setting so I'll probably make "empty" subhoods containing only the Sims out of the non-desert ones, so I can just add the Sims and move them in somewhere else. Main hood is gonna be Strangetown, but because I'm a completionist I've downloaded the Overkill-Strangetown SC4 Terrain by @chrisnewbie and plan to put all the Strangetown Sims from all the games in there, possibly add La Fiesta Tech and maybe even the TS2 Stories Sims (probably not though. Or maybe only Pet Stories).

So my current set-up looks like this:

- Main: Strangetown (uber version, no or few townies)

- Downtown: Emerald Heights

- University: Cactus Canyon, Quadington, LFT (Playable Sims + Secret Society only)

- Vacation: Winter Wonderland (mountain), possibly Felicity Island (tropical), ??? (far east). Maybe turn Nekojima into vacation hood? Hmm.

- Subhood 1: Sedona Deluxe + Copperhead City (Sims only) + maybe Pitstop Valley

-Subhood 2: Jeans Shaker Oasis

- Subhood 3: Service Area

- Subhood 4: Saguaro Desert + Douglasville + maybe Blackrock (no or few townies)

- Subhood 5: Softpines (on a dirt terrain) + Oak Hill + Oaken Valley

- Subhood 6: Arkhelios + Winterose (Sims only) + Nekojima (if not Vacation Hood)

I also got the Sims of Polgannon, Nekojima (not sure what to do with them yet) ... I've removed the bulk of dead ancestors from all the hoods to strip them down a little [edited to add I've also removed excess NPCs from all the hoods so far, in particular those stupid useless drivers] but still feel like this *might* be slightly overkill. Lol.

I found your Sedona dl while perusing MTS. You have instructions of where to put it if your using it as a subhood. I am curious as to why? I have the ultimate collection but when I load the game it comes up as Gardens and Mansions.

I want to make sure the opening ep does not matter and that the file will still load following your directions.

I am also curious as to if I could use a copy of a premade hood as a subhood for a neighborhood I created (using game templates of course)

There seems to be so much I need to learn after all these years away.

If you want to use the neighborhood as a subhood, say, as a "shopping district" like Bluewater Village, which you could add to any of your neighborhoods, then you'd have to put it into your Program Files\Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Best of Business\EP3\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate

If you'd put the subhood into your Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Neighborhood folder as usual, the subhood would no longer appear as an available shopping district if you'd try to add a new shopping district to any of your neighborhoods... instead, it would show up as a regular playable main hood in the main menu. With the only exception that it still has a unique loading screen (shopping district icon) and once loaded, it has the "Return to Main Hood" button.

But you can't put a neighborhood classified as a "main hood" into your NeighborhoodTemplate folder either, as the game will only read them as subhoods if they have also been converted into such.

If you want to convert your own main hood to a subhood, you can try to do the following:

First, disable your stealth subhoods and remove any if you have them attached to your main hood. You'll also have to remove any university, downtown, vacation or any other shopping district subhoods if you have any... otherwise the cheat won't work.

Add "boolprop testingcheatsenabled true" in your user startup file if you haven't already, as this will unlock a fancy new cheat which is very helpful later on...

Now, with all your subhoods removed and disabled, load the main hood you wish to convert and type in the following: "changeNeighborhoodType [university/downtown/suburb/asia/mountains/tropics]" to convert it into the subhood you wish... in your case it'd be changeNeighborhoodType suburb, right?

If everything's done correctly, the game will reload the neighborhood. If it does, quit the game and move your freshly converted subhood into your Program Files\Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Best of Business\EP3\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate

Open up the game and see if your neighborhood shows up as an available shopping district to add now. ^^

Hi Peni, I hope you're doing well!

I came across an old post of yours on Meetmetotheriver's Tumblr where you mentioned that family bin pregnancies (the Ottomas and Crittur families) are broken and need patching.

I'm using Meetmetotheriver's clean templates and stealth neighborhoods, do you know if the would the problem would still persist or if this would affect Brandi and Pascal's pregnancies (like in the case of adding Strangetown or Pleasantview as sub-neighborhoods)?

Also, would Widespot pregnancies also be affected if I added it by this when adding it as a sub-neighborhood?

I have all EPs and SPs, and I was wondering if I still needed to patch my game. If I do, could you let me know where to find the patch(es) please?

I apologize if the answer is obvious, I've been away from Ths Sims 2 for a very long time.

Sims in subhoods (and the stealth hoods are subhoods) get new IDs when added to the main hood, and prior to the patch the game did not check the ID of the father in the pregnancy controller to make sure they matched. This is why you hear horror stories about Samantha's twins being fathered by dogs etc. The Seasons patch fixed this issue; however, since the check happens when the IDs are changed, it can't fix sims who have already been added to the neighborhood before the patch was applied.

This applies to the disk versions; EA's digital versions come pre-patched. If you're using a CD crack or an electronic version from a pirate site, I suggest you attempt to apply the patches. It won't hurt anything; if the game's already patched, the patch will just refuse to load.

Also, even in a patched game, there's a possibility of alien pregnancies specifically still going wrong, because if the patch checks the ID after the change and finds an extremely low number (like the ID number of Universal Pollination Technician) it sometimes deciding that it must not have been changed, and changes it again.

So in the case of alien pregnancies and any stealth or subhood pregnancies that you've already loaded, you'll need to use an editing tool to assign the pregnancy correctly. I think there are pregnancy mods out there that allow you to fool with the pregnancy controller, but I only know how to do it in SimPE. You open the character file, open the memory tab, and locate the Pregnancy Token in the memories. Clicking on it should open up the pregnancy controller underneath the memory field, and you can make note of the Father's ID number and change it if it's the wrong one. Don't forget to commit before saving.

My Strangetown+

I’m finally actually playing my Strangetown+ hood. I took my time preparing the hood, and there still is a lot to do, but I wanted to play.

Strangetown+ consists of Strangetown, La Fiesta Tech, Bluewater Village, Downtown, Pleasantview, Riverblossom Hills, Académie Le Tour and some families from Desiderata Valley and Belladonna Cove. 

I didn’t stick to all the ages/stories certain sims came with, and I gave the uni students some siblings. The uni students in Strangetown+ will be the maxis ones from La Fiesta Tech and Sim State University.

Distances between the different hoods:

There are certain jobs/careers that my sims can only do in certain hoods, like the military will only be in Strangetown.

I know I might have thought about all these things a little bit too much, but I like it :)

Strangetown - Summer/Summer/Summer/Spring

Home to the Blue Moon Science Center, chosen for the high paranormal activity, they even got the government to put one of their main military bases here. Which makes Strangetown the ideal location for sims pursuing a career in science or the military.

La Fiesta Tech - Summer/Summer/Summer/Spring

La Fiesta Tech offers every major, but tries to put the focus on the sciences. This to accommodate the Blue Moon Science Center in Strangetown (5 minute drive), and the Oceanarium (aquarium) and the Green Leaf (natural science center) in Bluewater Village (25 minute drive).

Bluewater Village - Summer/Summer/Spring/Spring

Discover Adventure, Oceanarium and Green Leaf are the main work related reasons sims move to Bluewater Village. But the blue seas and the beautiful nature are the reasons they don’t want to leave.

Downtown - Spring/Summer/Fall/Winter

Pleasantview - Spring/Summer/Fall/Winter

Riverblossom Hills - Spring/Fall/Winter/Winter

With its colder climate you wouldn’t believe Riverblossom Hills was only a 45 minute drive from Pleasantview. And with Académie Le Tour connecting the 2 neighborhoods, Riverblossom Hills isn’t a bad place to start as a newly graduate.

0. Get The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection here:

ONLY DOWNLOAD the things I tell you to WHEN I tell you to!

I recommend putting all the folders you take out in a folder called ‘OG Hoods’ on your desktop.

1A. Go to Documents > EA Games > The Sims 2 > Neighborhoods.

1B. Take the 6 folders in your neighborhoods folder out and replace them with these:

Using this ^ link, scroll down and click on #CLEAN TEMPLATES RERELEASE for the other 5 folders.

N001 = Pleasantview (Basegame).

N002 = Strangetown (Basegame).

N003 = Veronaville (Basegame).

F001 = Desidarata Valley (Freetime).

G001 = Riverblossom Hills (Seasons).

E001 = Belladonna Cove (Apartment Life).

2A. Go to This PC > Windows (C:) > Program Files (x86) > Mr DJ > The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection (double click on it to open it).

When you’re ready to do 2C, 2D, etc. go back to this ^ place in your folder.

2B. Uni: Go to The Sims 2 University > TSData > Res > NeighborhoodTemplate.

Take the 3 folders in your neighborhoodtemplate folder out and replace them with these:

+DO NOT download ‘Sierra and Chandler’ and ‘Nightlife Version’, ONLY download the 3 normal ones.

2C. Downtown (Alternative = latest version from 2012):

Go to The Sims 2 Nightlife > TSData > Res > NeighborhoodTemplate.

Take the 1 folder in your neighborhoodtemplate folder out and replace it with this one:

2D. Bluewater Village: Go to The Sims 2 Open For Business > TSData > Res > NeighborhoodTemplate.

Take the 1 folder in your neighborhoodtemplate folder out and replace it with this one:

+USE THE SUBHOOD (shopping district) version!

+Optional: Download the Bluewater Village Main Hood version, this folder is called BWVM.

GO BACK TO Documents > EA Games > The Sims 2 > Neighborhoods, and put in as you did in step 1.

You will now have 7 neighborhoods when you open up the game instead of 6 neighborhoods.

+Optional: Download the Downtown Main Hood version.

*Note: It will no longer function as a Downtown (with Downtownies etc).

Use this link:

Scroll down until you see MAIN HOODS, scroll further down and download the first Downtown you see (how to download: click on the word Downtown). This folder is called N992.

GO BACK TO Documents > EA Games > The Sims 2 > Neighborhoods, and put in as you did in step 1.

You will now have 8 neighborhoods when you open up the game instead of 6 neighborhoods.

Hi! I'm gonna need more information here.

Have you installed it according to the instructions on the page? ( C://Programs (x86)/ EA Games/ The Sims 2 University (or corresponding Ultimate Collection folder)/ TSData/ Res/ NeighborhoodTemplate folder) It is a subhood, not a main hood, so don't put it in your normal neighbourhood folder.

Alternatively, do you have all of the Expansion packs and Stuff Packs? It definitely requires Mansion and Garden.

Lastly, what game config are you using? This was built with the standard disk game version up to M&G and runs fine on the Ultimate Collection (the digital version on Origin and the one floating around the internet). I'm not sure if it works on the Store Collection and such...

Quin’s 2023 Simming Goals

Seen a couple of these on my dash, so here are mine:

1. My main resolution is to start a new project, a hood that has no connection to Kulo Seeri aside from being in the same sim universe. I want to explore what my playstyle actually is now, and I can’t do that in a beloved main hood with almost sixteen years of canon history.

2. Unfortunately, there are still a lot of PTSD-induced "revenge against men" elements in Kulo Seeri. I’m not proud of that. In both KS and the new project, I would like to move away from those fifteen years of angst and find more positive roles for male sims to play in their communities and in my game’s stories.

3. I really want to bring back some of the original feel of the first Nuidya hood: the whimsical, slightly goofy, me-doing-me playstyle I had pre-depression. I used to think I couldn’t play that way if I also wanted in-depth worldbuilding, but now I say I’m going to add in what I want and try things out and so what if other simmers think I’m weird? This is me and I’m proud of it. The things that set me apart from other simblrs aren’t flaws or obstacles to overcome, they’re quirks, and we all have those.

4. Speaking of which, I’m going to memorise my new simming affirmation: I play my game from my chaotic good heart. I love my sims and the worlds they live in. I embrace all the things that make my game unique. I am #equinoxts2, proud wearer of purple.

La Fiesta Tech Dormie Pool

Something new today, I tried my hand at making a townie/dormie pool! Crossing my fingers nobody did this already but I couldn't find it anywhere so I made it.

I play with clean templates so my La Fiesta Tech had no dormies. So I extracted the appearance of & recreated the original 50 (yes, fifty) LFT dormies! 🎉

I gave everybody a cellphone and any information the wiki had on them such as LTWs and Interests if they had them. Names will be randomized when you add the pool but you can change them with simpe back to their originals.

The 15 Secret Society members have the appropriate token, but I did not test to see if they actually are really members whoops. Also, I may or may not have fixed LaShanda's broken face.

Keep in mind they're pictured here with my default skin and eyes.

To use the dormie pool, place the ULFD folder into either

C: > Program Files (x86) > Origin Games > The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection > University Life > TSData > Res > NeighborhoodTemplate

or C: > Program Files (x86) > EA Games > The Sims 2 > The Sims 2 University > TSData > Res > NeighborhoodTemplate

or if you have your game installed somewhere else, so long as it winds up in the neighborhood template folder of your university EP.

After that, add it like a normal university. After you add it, you can delete it (provided it's not the only unversity) and the dormies will stay. I feel like I explained that terribly so let me know if I'm not making sense 😂

✨ As I've never done anything like this before I highly recommend adding it to a test hood before you add it to your main game. Don't forget backups! 🙏I warned you! 💕

im gonna go with Clementine Bosden, the C heir of an alphabet legacy i attempted in 2011 (which got nowhere near Z, lol). she's a family sim with 1 nice point which is a hilarious combination to me. pictured here raging in the park for some reason & cheating at chess with her wife (an aged-up Chloe Gonzaga). ahhhh digging up these screenshots makes me wanna pick that hood back up again....

20. How has your “sims style” changed throughout your years of playing?

my MO is usually to start with one sim, have a bunch of kids & then a bunch of grandkids, get overwhelmed by the number of sims i'm managing & then abandon the family. but now i'm setting up an uberhood to play with LD's story progression and im very excited to see how it goes when i can just focus on one household and let everyone live their lives without me :)
