i feel like twitter just signed its own death warrant with its new “views” and “see who viewed your profile” thing. no one was tweeting anyway, but now even fewer people are going to want to tweet bc it’s mortifying to see that 700 people viewed your tweet and you only got one like.
and half the joy of twitter was stalking moots’ profiles without them knowing

If you want to you could write some C! Dream being soft around reader?
Secluded Cabin's and Gentle Touches
♡Pairing: Dream x GN!Reader (with hints of platonic!GN!reader x Tommy and Tubbo)
♡Genre: Fluff
♡Format: Fanfiction
♡Summary: It's not uncommon for Tommy and Tubbo to bring people over to your place so you can help calm them down after a prank, but today they seemed to drag by a familiar face that you have yet to properly spend time with. Lucky for you, he seems to be longing to talk to you as well.
♡Au Setting: Au where the war never happens but tensions are still high.
"Get back here!"
Despite the voice ordering them to stop, Tommy and Tubbo continued to run like their lives depended on it, and to be fair, it kinda did in this situation. Wet hands stained in different coloured dyes served as proof of their crimes and a green hooded man wearing an awfully smudged looking mask makes it clear who their latest prank victim was.
"What were we fucking thinking!?" but a laugh at the end of his yelling as he dodges Dream's outstretched hand makes it clear that Tommy doesn't regret his life choices at all.
"I don't know!" Tubbo on the otherhand, was starting to regret his involvement in the prank. His legs were starting to ache and his chest began to burn as he slowly became exhausted. A wild chase like this isn't exactly new to them but Dream's persistence really makes it hard for a person to catch a breather between runs. "Tommy, where are we even going!?"
Tommy opened his mouth to respond but a trail of scattered lanterns and torches answers Tubbo's question for him. Tubbo lets out a knowing, "ooooh!" And uses whatever remaining energy he can to keep up with Tommy, knowing exactly what his friend had in mind.
In the distance, they can see you sitting on your porch, playing with a parrot you had managed to tame while out searching for cocoa beans. Relief washes over them when you lock eyes with them and start jogging over with your bird in tow, a worried expression evident on your face.
They're quick to hide behind you when they get close enough, clutching the back of your shirt while trying to catch their breaths to answer your questions as to who they were running from this time and why.
"Dream-" is all Tommy can manage to wheeze out before he's coughing up a lung and swearing again.
"Ah," honestly, after knowing the pair for a good few years now, just mentioning a name gives you a pretty good idea of the type of prank they pulled and the danger they could be in. Thankfully, Dream wasn't a major threat, to you at least.
"Alright, alright, go hide in the house quickly and don't come out until I tell you guys to. If I die, make sure to take care of the farm animals and bees for me."
"Bless you, (y/n)."
"Your sacrifices won't be in vain, we promise!"
You give them a joking salute and urge them to go inside quickly, informing them that you can hear Dream approaching closer. Once the boys were safely inside, you tried your best to look as natural as possible with the limited time you had to adjust yourself. When Dream arrives, you can see that he's just as tired as the boys are thanks to the chase, though his stance continues to be tense as he frantically looks around for them, fists clenched tight until his knuckles turned ghost white.
"Fuck, where did they run off to?"
"Not gonna give a stranger a kind hello after walking onto their lawn with murderous intent?" You and Dream weren't really strangers per say, you had to meet up with him when you moved into the server after all, but due to conflicting schedules and how often Tommy and Tubbo dragged you away whenever he tried to make conversation, you two didn't know each other all that well. That doesn't mean that you didn't want to try though.
When Dream realizes where he was and who he was talking, he's quick to adjust his mask and hoodie to make himself look somewhat... presentable, as presentable as he can look with sweat marks and a messed up mask at least.
'Why did those two have to run up to your house out of all places,' Dream mentally whines to himself, clearing his throat and giving you a single awkward wave as he walks up to you.
"Hey, (y/n). I didn't know you lived in this part of the server," that was a lie. Dream did know where you live, he knew where everyone did but it would be a little creepy to just put that information out there, wouldn't it?
"It'd be a little weird if I just started screaming out my address to random people on the streets, wouldn't it?" You try to joke, earning a little laugh from Dream.
"Okay, yeah, you got me there."
You pat an empty spot beside you on your porch step, inviting Dream over for a bit of rest and he accepts your offer gratefully, practically slumping beside you as he suddenly feels just how tired he is.
"Love the new look you gave your mask by the way," Dream groans at your teasing and pulls at his hoodie strings, hoping to cover his whole mask with his hood. He's glad you can't see his face right now because he can feel his cheeks practically burning at the fact that when he finally gets a chance to talk and get close to you it's when he's a sweating tired mess who looks like a wreck at best.
"I'm going to kill those two when I find them," he mumbles under his breath.
The slam that follows within your home could not have been more terribly timed.
"What was that?"
"Must be my wolves," you lied through your teeth, knowing damn well that your actual wolves were sleeping in your bedroom, "they learned how to open doors recently, I think they're messing around at the moment."
While he's distracted, staring at your window to check what's going on inside of your home, you're quick to read through your most recent private messages on your communicator.
Tommy: HE'S HERE!
Tommy: (Y/N), WHY AREN'T YOU TELLING HIM TO FUCK OFF!?
Tommy: Fuck this, we're hiding in the kitchen.
Tubbo: We're making a run for it through the back.
Tommy: We'll hide in your barn like runaway children.
Tubbo: Isn't that what we technically are right now?
Tommy: (y/n), we're making a fucking run for it if you don't answer us in 3 seconds.
Tommy: 3!
Tommy: 2!
Tubbo: We'RE OUT! I REPEAT, WE'RE OUT!
"Yup," you pop your P a little at the end, annoyed yet amused at the string of frantic messages still continuing to pop up on your communicator as they make their escape, "definitely my wolves causing all of that chaos."
Dream knows that you're lying from the way you read through your messages but he doesn't say a word about it, choosing instead to take this golden opportunity to get closer to you without worrying about anyone getting in the way.
"Not really how you thought the day would go, huh?"
You can't help but laugh and shake your head, "Not at all, I thought it was just going to be another boring day with my bird, but hey, I'm glad you showed up to make it a little more special."
"Really?" Dream hates how happy he sounds to hear you say that, but he'll beat himself up over it another time.
"It's not everyday you see Mr. WasTaken himself visiting your humble home, now is it?" Oh, or maybe he won't.
"I guess not, that really should change, shouldn't it?" You can hear the little grin in his voice as he realizes the game your playing.
"It really should, but a quick heads up would be good, unless you'd like to deal with said 'wolves' I mentioned earlier."
He chuckles and shakes his head, mentioning how he's more than aware that those two 'wolves' of yours would probably rip him apart if he ever visited you unannounced.
It isn't long before you invite Dream inside, offering to help clean his mask as an apology on the boys's behalf. He claims that he doesn't mind but he would rather not take his mask off in front of you when he hasn't gotten to know you all that well.
"You don't have to remove it if you feel uncomfortable, I'll just wipe away whatever I can with a cloth, but if you're still hesitant, I'd understand."
He takes a moment to consider your offer, trying to see if you have any other ulterior motives. It's not that he doesn't want to trust you, he does, but sometimes you just have to be a little extra cautious even with people you like. Sensing no ill intent on your part though, he relaxes himself once more and accepts your help, letting his hood finally loosen and fall back to ease your process.
Your actions are incredibly comforting to Dream who can't help himself from leaning into your touches every once in a while. He watches you with his fullest attention as you wipe away the mess on his mask with a damp cloth. He loves how focused you look while doing so, taking in every little quirk you may have while you concentrate. His little crush on you that he's harboured ever since he saw you running around the server can't help but grow every second you give him your attention.
There's a certain draw to you that Dream can't fight off no matter how hard he tries, you just manage to hold a certain power over him and that was evident by the fact that he completely lost interest in continuing his hunt for Tommy and Tubbo even after finding out that they were still most likely on your property. Dream was a persistent man, he was never one to simply drop something with no proper reason at all. There was just this appeal to you that he couldn't describe and he was desperate to find out what it was about you that made him act differently than he normally would.
"Okay then, that's the last of it," he has to stop himself from letting out a whine when you pull your hands away from his mask, he wants to say something to try to get you to continue on longer but decides against it, not wanting to seem desperate. His eyes don't leave you even after you pull away, watching you rinse off the dirty cloth before throwing it into what seemed to be a bin filled with laundry. When you return to sit by his side, he can't help but swallow a bit of his pride to rest his head on your shoulder. It's a big risk to take, but at least he has an excuse for his actions if he ever needs it.
"Tired, Dream?"
"Mhmm," he feels himself melt when you let your fingers run through his slightly sweat damp hair, clearly unphased by the state of it much, to his joy.
"You wanna rest here for a while? I'm sure you could get a good nap in before leaving."
"That depends, can I still use you as my pillow?"
"Not like I have anything else to do for the rest of the day, knock yourself out."
"Then if you'll excuse me," his head is quick to leave your shoulder to instead rest in your lap and the blissful sigh he lets out escapes his lips before he can even stop himself. You just feel so comfortable to him. "I'm gonna drift off, wake me up in an hour or so, will you?"
You let out a hum in response and it isn't long before you start to see Dream's body go slack, his breathing now steady and deep as he slowly falls asleep. It's quite endearing seeing Dream act so affectionately towards you, something you certainly didn't expect from a guy who carries himself with a subtle wave of authority, but you definitely weren't complaining as you continued to play with his hair once again.
Dream would never tell a single soul about it, but this was quiet possible the best sleep he's gotten in years, if he even tried to sleep at all to begin with. The thought to just slow down and relax is never really on his mind, his head always spinning with things he has to do. However, with you, he's glad to know that he can look to you for comfort from now on, something he now realizes is rather hard to find on the server. It pains him to know that he'll have to leave in just a few moments but for now, he'll take what he can get from you and maybe, if you let him, he'll be sure to return your sweet gestures tenfold one day.
A/N: Hello, everyone! I am so sorry for being absent recently, I know the writer's block excuse can only go so far but- yeah ^^' I'm so sorry again for everything and I'm sorry if this isn't what you were hoping for anon! Spreading Smarminess
There will be no passport for those who were right about the virus. Acting smug isn't really the style for anyone with such rational foresight, unlike those who think they saved us by hassling us. Hysteria that exacerbated sickness strained allegiance to science while making people broke in every sense. But at least we know self-satisfaction is no vaccination.
Lockdowns that didn't lock down the virus were at least super fun. Did you enjoy the latest dance craze broadcast to social media? Endless cringing made me jealous of New York nursing home residents, too. Devastation from illness was supposed to be slowed by not earning. It was the best of both worlds otherwise.
Shutting down human interaction is one way to learn what the economy is. The process is nothing more than negotiation in interaction. Trying to make a living while being told it's a tradeoff that'll cost lives doesn’t quite make living easy.
Natural restricters are still acting like free exchange is a process that harms participants, environments, and now well-beings. Demonizing capitalism is favored by particularly useless people who see dealing as some monstrosity that promotes selfishness over humanity. Acquiring what's desired by offering what's possessed is infinitely superior to waiting for a pittance funded by printing presses.
A faceless entity that churns out profits at the expense of humans sounds bad. But governments showed what business is by halting basic trading. Free markets are not operated by a switch. They're presently flicked on and off by desperate Democratic governors.
Separating precisely six feet kept us worlds apart. That would just happen to be a distance that's easy to remember, which makes it very scientific. Sure, separation did nothing but deprive us of human contact, but at least we got to feel self-satisfied alone.
Similarly, it happened to take exactly one hundred days more of wearing masks to beat this persistent infection. We're blessedly that deep into Joe Biden's presidential and our prison term. Plagues proceed as usual.
It'll be another two weeks to stop the spread, so quit bitching. Eternal temporary measures are the government's specialty. Now, the state is on steroids. The drug of power has even worse side effects than rage and a shriveled set.
If masks worked, they would've worked by now. They're so effective that people must wear them for a second year. Icky stifled breathing is either as useless as a Biden presidency or prolonging agony. But breathing impediments serve the important function of showing the world how much you care.
Virtue signaling regrettably doesn't halt pandemics, as we'd be packed into restaurants and stadiums a year ago while shielded by sanctimony. Naturally and sadly, even wholesale victory wouldn't stop limiting who can sit where. Constant interdictions are conveniently dehumanizing. Not being paranoid would be much easier if there were not a literal sign of who's being controlled.
It must be bigotry behind calling a commie monstrosity inept liars. Demonizing those who noticed China's demonic failure or scheme infected the globe is just what Mao would want. People can't differentiate between a global supervillain and Americans of Asian descent, according to brilliant anti-racists. We somehow managed to not punch those whose grandparents emigrated from Russia just because the Soviet Union had more nukes pointed at free countries than potatoes to feed its own citizens.
The least scientific cult around is complicit in falling for the Empire State's Ted Bundy. Andrew Cuomo is singlehandedly responsible for the virus's worst death toll, which is fitting for someone who provoked the subprime mortgage global economic meltdown's worst radioactive leaks. Of course his brainwashed masses in the media and otherwise should've listened to those not enchanted, as there would be a lot more grandparents at graduations today. But at least hes a serial harasser and unpleasant human who's making the erstwhile Empire State an economic powerhouse by raising goddamn taxes again.
A communal fetish is uncannily popular amongst those who think only the horde can stop illness. The endless pandemic happens to be a chance to say we're all in this together. Flaunting the alleged need for universal compliance offers a convenient segue into making everything public property. Don't bother waiting for answers for why it's important for others to be vaccinated if it works so well.
Begging to be controlled should be left to private tabs. Instead, virus preeners applaud every rights restriction, unmasked airline ejection, and proof of vaccination requirement. Self-fluffers sadly think they've been protected by giving up decisions. It's astounding how lustily rights disappear. Public perverts getting off on pretending to aid others respond to every limp politician's useless pushiness with cheering if they weren't demanding stronger interdictions sooner.
Frightened Earth residents can't be protected from a pandemic with enchanted face cloak protection any more than one can dodge buying groceries. Craving an assurance is as natural as it is daft. Society ended up with a virus rampaging as everyone hid from it. The political science is settled. Demanding rights be seized is the worst symptom. It's lasting longer than this stupid virus.
Those who said emergency powers were uncalled for get to know they were right as their rights are still molested. Opposing overreach offers little consolation as we wait in vain for normal interactions to be permitted again in a perfectly twisted take on how life should be structured. Even if we're benevolently granted the right to watch a movie while breathing freely, the ghastly precedent remains.
Vindication means nothing when those who bossed society without a legislature's approval got away with power trips. Leaders got every intervention they wanted and results were as bad as projected. They just need to make us stand 12 feet apart preemptively.

We have a new citizen in Mount Phoenix:
Hera, the Goddess of Marriage and Queen of the Gods, whose origins stem from Ancient Greece. She is now the owner of the Black Forest Bakery.
FC NAME/GROUP: Jessica Jung GOD NAME: Hera PANTHEON: Greek OCCUPATION: owner of Black Forest Bakery HEIGHT: 1,63m WEIGHT: 50kg DEFINING FEATURES: a peacock tattoo along her back; hint of a greek accent and it grows heavier the more emotional she gets; usually is wearing at least some golden accessory like rings, earrings, necklaces or bracelets.
PERSONALITY: She’s someone proud who holds her values as high as she holds her head. Hera isn’t forgiving, she has never been, and the centuries of dealing with zeus’ affairs and the offspring of those affairs has made her someone quite bitter and even more merciless. However, she isn’t completely the vicious goddess that is portrayed in her myths, after all she’s the goddess of maternity and familiar love. she’s motherly to those that fall in her good grace, has a little of a soft spot for pregnant women (as long as they aren’t pregnant from her husband) and widows. Hera doesn’t approve of the demigods that come from committed gods, but she has learned with time that the only ones she could really judge were their parents and not the kids who in the end never asked to be born anyway so she tolerates them a little more, although it isn’t recommended to test that tolerance that much.
She’s also on the confident side bordering on arrogant, she’s a queen after all. Hera is graceful and elegant on her gestures, the way she carries herself. Definitely still sees mortals as inferiors; even though she won’t downright humiliate them or anything of that sort, she still expects to be treated as a queen and won’t tolerate any sign of what she considers disrespect. hera still has quite the temper and a silver tongue which she doesn’t find many reasons to hold back most of the times. She can be also quite condescending on the ones she doesn’t feel are equals to her while truly believing that she’s being “kind” and “patient” and is bordering on indifferent on those for some reason or another she thinks aren’t worth of her attention and time, although the centuries definitely made her a little more patient with humankind.
Despite all of that, Hera is still a charming woman with her beautiful looks and witty remarks with the perfect amount and sarcasm and wisdom behind them when you catch her in a good mood. Hera is someone who still has the capability of caring for others (even if those “others” are only a handful), is extremely faithful to them, still has some empathy on her to look after women and in the end, she’s still a mother looking after her family in her own ways.
HISTORY: If asked, Hera doesn’t remember much about her days in her father’s stomach. Humans call that a mechanism of defense like her brain blocking unpleasant memories from her mind to protect her mental health or something like that. She knows what happened though, the greedy of her father for the throne that made him eat his own kids, the desperate wails of her mom every time another of her children was taken away from her before she could look at them for more than a brief moment. She remembers fighting side by side with her brothers and sisters for the freedom that was always a right of theirs, for a kingdom that was theirs to claim from as soon as the first Olympian was born.
She also doesn’t remember exactly when she falls in love. But Hera remembers Zeus’ always flirting nature, his compliments, the shine on his eyes when he looked at her and the pleasant feeling on her chest whenever she knew that she had his attention to herself and herself alone. Hera also remembers the way his eyes would wander, remembers the exact reasons why she wouldn’t marry him at first because Hera isn’t a goddess for a cheating husband, and she wouldn’t let herself be involved with anyone that she wasn’t properly committed with.
She remembers furious storms and a poor lost cuckoo with a broken wing on her window.
She remembers a god with strong features and even stronger personality, a god who promised he’d never let her go and to honor their commitment, who made oaths of eternal love against her skin and Hera felt like she had no other choice but to trust him.
She definitely remembers the women. all and every single one of them. Hera remembers the little bastards, not only she had to live with the knowing fact that Zeus has tainted their marriage, but also had those little reminders of his affairs, the solid proof that those women touched someone who didn’t belong to them walking around like the world belonged to them, that he had a family that wasn’t with her. She made sure that was hell to pay for it. A part of her knew that this was unfair, that she should be angry at him, that he should punish him. It isn’t like she hasn’t tried, that she hasn’t fought and yelled at him, cried angry tears because this wasn’t what she was promised, because she let herself fall in love and now she couldn’t just fall out of it. because this is more than just Zeus betraying her trust, taunting and tainting the values that she treasured so much, more than simply turning his back on everything she stood for, everything she represented as a divine deity.
It was about making her doubt herself, making her think whether she was enough of a good wife, of making her consider for a moment that the problem was her and not him and that is something that she can’t forgive him for.
But then Hera still loves him, is still weak for the apology she sees in his eyes and hears from his lips. She’s still his wife and she has her roles to fulfill even if Hera has an womanizer garbage of a husband and that’s why she makes them pay instead, puts all her anger and resentment on Zeus’ lovers and children because someone has to suffer with her too (and she hoped that like that her husband would stop with the affairs but she was clearly wrong). Those aren’t one of her proudest moments but they can’t be changed, there’s nothing that she can do.
Talking half of gods to go against their king is very easy when said king is being a mess. everyone has at least something against him and with enough of Hera’s sweet talking she easily was turning the tables. She couldn’t betray Zeus by bringing other men to her bed but that isn’t the only kind of betrayal and her plan would’ve worked if a little nymph didn’t spill everything out to Zeus in the end. It didn’t fulfill her the way she thought it would, the anger and hurt on his eyes didn’t give her any satisfaction and she almost apologized for it, almost took his lovely face on her hands and kissed those feelings away even if she knew she wouldn’t be able to do that. He stormed off and Hera let him because there was nothing she could say that’d make him stay, because she knew that he had to calm down if she wanted to save anything between them.
Hera isn’t surprised that she’s painted as the villain in the myths, simply assumes that humans don’t know the whole story anyway so what do they know indeed, that they’ve always been not the brightest of the beings. Athena could definitely talk more about it. However, it doesn’t make her less displeased when the golden era of the gods come to an end and they’re treated like some story to tell a child that still can’t understand the “complex” of some natural phenomena. It’s hard to get down to the ground when you lived your whole life standing on a pedestal.
However, Hera is still a queen nonetheless and sometimes some adaptations are necessary and she might be proud but she isn’t dumb. She takes the chance to know the world that is now much wider than in her time, meets new types of people, some worthy of her blessings and others of her curses. She ends up knowing about a place for gods and their children but isn’t the eagerest to go there just yet, knowing full well that she’d end up meeting old friends but also having to deal not only with other gods’ fruits of their affairs but also Zeus’ and that’s enough of a reason for her to refuse to go there at first. But curiosity has also always been part of Hera and that’s why she decides in the end that it might be so bad after all to at least know that island and see how things take her from there.
POWERS:
Bond manipulation: can sense the connections between people and is able to tell what kind of connection that is whether it’s platonic or romantic and the alike and how strong it is; also is able to manipulate that connection making any kind of relationships but especially weddings last forever or breaking them in a question of days.
Madness inducement: can induce insanity breaks that might last for a limited period of time like with Heracles or last far longer like with Dionysus.
Transfiguration: can transform other beings, usually humans who displease her, in animals or plants.
STRENGTHS:
confident
motherly and protective
eloquent
WEAKNESSES:
still has a temper that shouldn’t be played with
easily jealous
vain
not only the queen of the gods but the queen of holding grudges

Gundam ibo s02e18 gjallarhorn & tekkadan: expectation vs acceptance
Below I talked a bit about Sevenstars kids, and a bit of ep commentary after that.
After this ep, there seems to be a discourse about how some fans do not want Gaelio to win, as it would invalidate Tekkadan’s struggles. The reason is bcs Gaelio comes from wealth anyway, so if he wins, it’d only strengthen the belief money is everything and that the poor would only struggle in vain with no reward.
I’m just. Augh. That logic is not exactly wrong, but I don’t think it is applicable to IBO world – or gundam world in general. Barring the fact that gundam endings usually are not about winning or losing, IBO itself is never about the rich vs the poor – even if it likes to throw around words like resources, corruption for the sake of money, exploitation and the likes.
The way I see it, Tekkadan is about acceptance, makeup family, and make the best of what you have. Basically, all Tekkadan’s struggles are for the sake of surviving and maybe get a better life and that’s it. They’re not actually trying to conquer Earth – that’s on McGillis. These are a bunch of ragtags who are used to be abused, so long as they could live free, they’re already satisfied. The original members trust each other already (despite Eugene’s initial jealousy of Orga). Their continuous conflict is not external (since Mika could easily defeat any outside enemy), it’s in how each member learns to accept their role within the group. This is esp evidence because once said member has accepted his role, he’s no longer given screentime and is relegated to background character (w/ the exception of mika & orga who are the leads, and biscuit & Aston who died.)
This is also shown with the new members (e.g. Hush, Zack). They’re *new*, and therefore they have to *learn* to trust other members, before they could accept themselves and their assigned role.
My point: the biggest hurdle in being a Tekkadan member is in how one learns to get accepted by others in order to accept oneself. They live rather isolated, and so societal rules is not exactly expected of them.
Gjallarhorn, on the other hand, is much colder.
Gjallarhorn members are not struggling to survive, since they take for granted their freedom and their livelihood; they need not worry of lack of food or fund since they get steady income. They’re already functional and accepted members of society, and they have social expectation to meet.
All Sevenstars kids have the same problem: they desire acknowledgement, and none actually has it.
Iok: he’s the most obvious, since at the moment he has nothing that he has worked on himself. He’s acknowledged for two titles: The Head of Kujan House (inherited) and one of Arianrhod’s Captain (regardless of whether or not he gets his position by *working*, the fact he’s a Sevenstar, and that Rustal is also a Sevenstar, would make Iok suspect of nepotism). As a pilot, he’s surpassed by Julieta – someone whose skill Rustal himself personally approved. It’s not even Iok is devoid of skills; Rustal did tell Vidar that Iok is actually at being *inspiring.* 40 ppl apologized on his behalf, and at least 5 ppl threw their life to protect him. People look at him and want to follow him – he’s a true leader material. Him not realizing his true strength is, I think, just a matter of him being immature still. Being an inspiring leader is not exactly a skill you could see with your own eyes, unlike piloting skills – which can be proved by how many mobile suits you could destroy. He’s impatient, he seeks instant gratification, and being a leader is something you need to work at. He’s a natural at inspiring ppl, but he still doesn’t know how to actually be a good leader.
Personality and skill wise, Iok is the weakest among the four Gjallarhorn kids tho. Unlike the others, Iok still lacks self-confidence and awareness, and on top of that, he hasn’t learned how to hone/use his skills. He’s also even easier to rile up than Gaelio. He wants attention, but he doesn’t know how to get it. Among the four, Carta would be the strongest simply because she’s that stubborn and she doesn’t take no for an answer. If she wants attention, she demands it and makes sure everybody knows it and indulges her. McGillis and Gaelio are somewhere in the middle. If he wants attention, McGillis would probably manipulate his way so that it’s not obvious he *wants* attention. If Gaelio wants attention, he just follows them around but appears uninterested until they come to him - just like he does to McGillis.
Carta – having born to the highest ranked Sevenstar Family, Carta probably feels the weight of expectation more acutely than the other three. She has her position (Commander of Lunar Orbit Fleet, McGillis’ current position). For the ppl at large, she should have all the acknowledgment that she needs (Makanai does say *she* is powerful in the end of ep s01e21. But then in s01e19 Carta herself says she’s going to prove her title is not just a decoration, and in s02e01, one of the two old men say something similar in the Sevenstars meeting. Different from Iok’s obvious cluelessness, Carta is very aware of her shortcomings, and does her best to try hiding it; she either chooses to suffer in private, or in front of Gaelio. Her screaming about Almiria to Gae in ep19 – I think that’s one of the moments she allowed herself to look immature. She’s always so proper and respectful otherwise – even to McGillis. She desires to be acknowledged by Sevenstars leaders, esp her guardian Iznario, but until the end she’s just an embarrassment to them – even if ppl at large acknowledge her.
Gaelio – looking at how he allows himself to be overshadowed by McGillis, one might think he’s selfless; but he’s not. He just doesn’t care. Also, unlike Carta’s and Iok’s, his title as Gjallarhorn’s Ace Pilot ™ is not actually an empty title; in ep5, when he faces Mika, he doesn’t brag about skill the way Iok does when he’s fighting. Gaelio fights with the attitude and confidence of someone who has honed his skills in battles and actually comes on top. The fact Mika still beats him is a testament to Mika’s monstrous skill and not Gaelio’s lack of one. According to Triage card, he’s not actually concerned about his looks. Again, this is not because he lacks self-confidence, he simply doesn’t care. The fact he’s having the same rank as McGillis (who is praised as being excellent etc) speaks of his skills and actual hardwork, and since it’s implied ppl flock to him when he’s not with McGillis, ppl do acknowledge him. But. Once again, Gaelio doesn’t care about the masses’ opinion. He only desires for McGillis’ approval, and in the process of trying to achieve this, I do think he purposefully turn a blind eye to some of McGillis’ pursuits. (I still can’t decide when Gae agreeing w/ McGillis abt how Gjallarhorn’s corrupt, he does it bcs he rly think so, or just bcs he’s that desperate to get McGillis’ approval.)
McGillis – I think McGillis’ biggest problem is his sense of entitlement. He acts like the world owes him something and that he’s going to continue to demand it until he bleeds the world dry. As a Sevenstar kid, he’s perfect – he’s already being acknowledged by Gjallarhorn leaders, even if the masses still can’t approve of him bcs of his supposed “mistress’ son” background. This is the opposite of the other three who get the masses’ approval but not Gjallarhorn’s leaders (except gae-it’s unknown what the leaders think of him). He meets all the social expectation expected of him. Despite this, different from the others, McGillis doesn’t *seem* to crave approval; he doesn’t crave it bcs he think he *deserves* it. To crave something means you’re the one lacking, but to deserve something means it’s your right, you’re the owner. He lives in his own world, where he’s the only right one. According to Triage, he’s also vain about his looks – he thinks his face is pretty and is one of life’s most magnificent view ever created.
Honestly McGillis’ attitude baffles me. Ppl compared him w/ Gaelio, but I think comparing him w/ Orga, background wise, is more appropriate. They come from similar unfortunate background, and yet one turns into a megalomaniac wannabe while the other is a revered leader of ragtag family whose members look up to him.
You can’t even say McGillis get his sense of entitlement bcs he grows up in Sevenstars (and all sevenstars kids have this to a certain degree) since he already thinks himself better than everyone else way before he finds Agnika’s book. The moment he finds the book, he feels validated since the book confirms his belief that brute force is the greatest power.
He forces the world to bend to his will and belief instead of the other way around – which is to say: he thinks the world revolves around him.
TL;DR: Tekkadan doesn’t expect anything of its members; staying alive is hard enough, so as long as they’re alive, it’s enough. On the other hand, in Gjallarhorn, staying alive is a given; pride is everything; if you can’t even bring glory to your name, you’re better off dead.
SPEAKING OF THIS EP
in my last ep review, I remarked about how McGillis’ way of starting a war by recruiting public is proof that he feels he can’t win against Rustal the usual way.
Turn out I was wrong; the broadcast is actually a cover up and not an instigation, since he chooses a coups d'état – which would put him as the wrong side.
When Orga and Liza Enza talking about McGillis’ big plan, I was like wow, I sure hope that big plan is really a *plan* and not a series of coincidences like in S1
Turns out the reality is so beyond ridiculous I can’t even.
So McGillis’ plan basically is: 1.Have Tekkadan do all the dirty work of eliminating Gjallarhorn soldiers 2.Have Liza Enza making excuses to the masses and the rest of unsuspecting Gjallarhorn’s soldiers not in HQ 3.Preen and gloat to the Leaders of Gjallarhon for maximum asshole effect 4.Pilot Bael 5.Be the King of the World
I’m just??????? The level of ridiculousness is so of the chart I’m. having trouble processing this? HOW IS PILOTING A GUNDAM A PROOF YOU’RE THE KING OF THE WORLD???
Gundam Bael is not Excalibur, McGillis is not king Arthur. Pulling Bael out of its resting place doesn’t make you leader of anything.
So basically his big plan is to appear with Bael and somehow have the rest of the world in its knees because of it.
Srsly? SRSLY???
Isn’t Gjallarhorn supposed to have less influence than before since their rep gets smeared and all? Liza Enza just broadcasts this story at the beginning of the ep. And yet McGillis still acts like Gjallarhorn is the greatest power ruling the world, and therefore some ancient Gjallarhorn hero would immadeately put fear in the masses.
Like, which is it? Is Gjallarhorn actually still powerful, or is it not? He can’t seem to make up his mind.
While the leaders of Gjallarhorn seem to fear Bael’s power, including Gallus, do the youngsters even know what a Gundam is.
I mean, Gjallarhorn’s resident Ace Pilot ™ doesn’t actually remember what a Gundam is until McGillis tells him in s01e06, despite having one tucked away in his family’s basement.
Iok doesn’t know what MA is, despite it having much to do with creation of Gjallarhorn and basically the foundation of his family.
Mars’ Branch Head doesn’t know what MA is, and doesn’t have access to search for MA’s kids despite his position.
If Sevenstars core members do not even know/remember what Gundam/MA is, how would you expect the rest of the world to remember 300 years ago history, esp when it has nothing to do with them at all???
Mostly I’m imagining ppl in their houses watching this crazy half-naked man sprouting nonsense about how ppl should call him “King” bcs he brings some random giant robot.
Speaking of, is it actually necessary for him to get half-naked? I don’t actually need to see that.
Since McGillis mentions *Ein’s research*, I guess his Alaya Vijnana installation is made after? So basically the whole Graze Ein thing is him experimenting to make sure it’s safe for his own use, and nothing more huh. The smearing gjallarhorn name thing is probably also after the fact *while we are at it* thing.
Also, kid McGillis’ back seems smooth from what I see, so the installation is def new.
I just. Just because you get abused in the past, doesn’t give you the right to abuse other ppl in return – esp when they have nothing to do with it.
In regards to the aforementioned discourse, ppl want McGillis to win bcs he had suffered enough? And I’m like??? But what about *his* victims???
So we finally get to know his past. It’s just. Oddly unsatisfying because it turns out his past has nothing to do with Sevenstars at all.
He just picks Sevenstars and Gjallarhorn bcs atm Gjallarhorn holds the most power, and nothing more. And also bcs Iznario happens to pick him up.
McGillis always feel empty. Like he’s present, but he’s not actually there. He’s just so cold and distant, and his reaction to ppl is just. Weird.
He feels sociopathic to me.
I’ve commented a little abt ein/gae here, and I’m just. Waiting for more detail. Tho I wouldn’t be opposed to a probable Ein/Gae/Juli OT3
Also I can’t believe it’s canon that Julieta does feel a little jealous of Vidar over Rustal.
Stop confirming my headcanon show. Else I’ll start expecting things you can’t actually deliver.
Yamazin smile while she gives Julieta the explanation tho. I’m in love. I love my manic Head Mechanic. She seems scary in a mad scientist way, but I think it’s better than the unfeeling mechanic guy for Graze Ein, who seems very formal with no show of feelings at all.
I hope we get to see more of Yamazin - tho hopefully not bcs she’s going to operate on Juli and make her the second Ein *coughs*
Also I thought Liza Enza is shrewd somehow, but it turns out he’s just gullible. You can’t fake that level of earnest enthusiasm.
I totally understand why Orga gets overwhelmed and like, uhhh stay away from me maybe when Liza Enza gives him that look.
I apologize for repeating Liza Enza’s name so many times. I just like his name. do you think he gets nicknamed Zaza? I need to know for science.
Pretty sure Orga never actually meet Gaelio, since the ones who had ever seen Gaelio’s face from Tekkadan were Mika and Biscuit in ep4. So why does Orga act like he somehow recognizes Gae’s face? Or is that a a shock in general and nor necessrily bcs of Gae’s face?
This cap is here as an appreciation for Eugene’s face. I recall I used to like him wayy back when he’s actually active and all.
#tekketsu no orphans#does this make sense at all#oh well#i still have that the meaning of friends for mcgillis thing to finish#later maybe
