Shisui as Regulus' son sounds amazing and all the angst that would come from that is top tier, just thinking of Sirius somehow finding out during Harry's third year of Hogwarts when he escapes from Azkaban and realizing that he's an uncle and this boy is Regulus' son but he can't take care of him because he's a wanted man and akshdkskajkssj it makes me unwell in the best ways possible

So we have shisui (a hot, badass, Hufflepuff quidditch seeker) who would probably not know harry very well (just because 1) harry is surprisingly introverted and Shisui's dad is a known death eater and 2) house divide bullshit 3) shisui is probably manipulating the fuck out of DE kids as well as his own house which either looks dodgy or flighty to the outside) suddenly having a common cause together. Oooooh wait no this is even better because the whole scandal with black would cause massive attention for shisui and the whole thing with Hufflepuff in that year would mean there's problems with shisui being thought of as a traitor or the one letting Sirius into the school, there might be issues with shisui catching the snitch (Cedric can be a chaser idgaf) whilst harry falls before Shisui catches him too... What it says on the tin. I'm in the middle of a writing binge but I have so many plotbunnies and don't know where to start. Here's a list of things I'm in the mood to work on. Please, tell me which one catches your attention! If you got an idea/trope/headcanon of your own that I have your permission or liberty take, maybe twist, or implement in one of my wips, feel free to add them too. I'll credit you, of course 

HARRY POTTER:

Male!SIOC as the older brother of Sirius and Regulus Black and heir of the Black family.

SI of myself; I'm a muggleborn girl in the same year as the Weasley twins.

Male!SIOC with a twist; he's an Auror from the 2010s who time-travels to either the Marauders era or canon era. He accepts a position as teacher at Hogwarts.

PERCY JACKSON:

SI as Percy Jackson. Realistic rewrite of the series. Will stay true to the nature of Greek Mythology (the gods are fudging terrifying and not troll parents)

NARUTO:

Male!SIOC in Sunagakure. Grimdark. Lots of worldbuilding. The journey from cannon fodder to capable shinobi. He's a year or two older than Kakashi.

Female!SIOC at the end of the Third Shinobi War. Focuses on the civilian side of things and the spying/seduction game. She wakes up in Tanzaku Gai and earns money by continuing her previous part-time job: pole-dancing. She takes to Jiraiya like a baby duckling and follows him in his travels. (She'll never be anything stronger than genin, if even that).

A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE:

SI!Robb Stark. Enough said.

Male!SI as Balerion, the Black Dread. ( yes, he turns human at one point  )

Crossover/reincarnation, although no prior knowledge of Naruto is needed. Uchiha Shisui is reincarnated as the trueborn son of Cersei Lannister and Robert Baratheon. He's crown prince

Female!SI(OC) as the daughter of the one who launched the Tourney of Harrenhal (when Rhaegar crowned Lyanna instead of his WAIFU). She has 3 older brothers and her uncle is Oswell Whent, a member of the Kingsguard. Looooots of humor, while keeping in mind the stakes of the world. I kinda see it as romcom in Westeros?

Male!SIOC as the younger brother of Aerys II Targaryen, the Mad King. I've already written a teaser for this one; read it under the list!

DRAGON AGE:

Male!SIOC. Kinda a crossover? Kinda portal fantasy? Bo prior knowledge of FF7 is needed. Premise is: a SOLDIER from Final Fantasy 7 (already a reincarnated soul from our world) falls into the Lifestream (it's green) just before Sephiroth goes Ragnarok on everyone. He ends up stuck to an elf for a years or so, invisible and intangible. The elf is the one who stumbles upon Divine Justinia being threatened at the Conclave but just before he picks up the sphere, SIOC does it for him. BOOM. He's the Inquisitor instead of Lavellan.

DC COMICS:

Male!SIOC as a Lantern. That's all I have for now so if you got suggestions... I'm eying the Violet Lantern like a thirsty dog, though. As for the universe... Injustice is winking at me ahdgjsjs

SI as Aquaman. The comics were soooo frustrating but I love Arthur to bits. Can't wait to get my hands on Atlantis. Worldbuilding a fish city? I volunteer!

Male!SIOC as Bruce Wayne's younger brother (he's one year old when their parents die, so eight years younger than Bruce). Bro. BRO. This wip is my BABY. So much worldbuilding. So much nostalgia. I've actually nearly managed to make a decent timeline of events. ALL major DC events are in this monster of a wip, from Countdown to Infinite Crisis to Blackest Night to Flashpoint. ALL beloved villains and heroes, from Cyborg Superman to Jason Todd to Kilowogg. It spans from the Wayne brother's childhood filled with shenanigans (baby catwoman, black mask and twoface helping Bruce solve a crime? It's more likely thatn you think!) to Nightwing proposing to his love (this is when I'll be annoying and say "read to find out who it is!!" Lol)

Voldemort Wins AU

When Lily and Alice found that they were pregnant, that they were expecting to give birth in July, they were informed of the prophecy and subsequently, they went to each meeting with their healer on edge- hoping for a girl because the prophecy always spoke of a boy. Alice Longbottom's child turned out to be a girl and she knew no greater relief, Lily Potter's was a boy and she knew no greater terror then when her son became a target.

It wasn't what she wanted for her child, to face a madman, so she scrutinized the prophecy and latched onto 'born as the seventh month dies'. The Wizarding World did not have induced births but, then, Lily Potter was a muggleborn and she refused to forget that. Thus, ignoring what any might say about duty to the Wizarding World, she went to a muggle hospital for a C-section and Harry Potter was born July 1.

It was an act the effect the moral on both sides, the Light- even those who didn't know of the prophecy, they still saw their leaders falter- lost hope while the Dark's determination grew, it was enough to effect the tides of the war.

Enough that Voldemort won the war.

Prophecies, however, are powerful things that demand to be fulfilled even if it's not the way originally expected and it's second attempts starts with a whimper, not a bang.

It starts with Regulus Black remembering being Uchiha Itachi when inferni grab hold of him and he uses Kawarimi; it starts when Regulus Black defies the Dark Lord thrice- once by stealing Voldemort's Horcrux, twice by surviving Voldemort's traps and thrice by informing his brother about the Horcruxes.

It begins when Sirius Black listens, when he remembers being Uchiha Shisui, when a dog sneaks into Hogwarts to meet with a Hufflepuff; it begins when Sirius Black defies the Dark Lord thrice- once by denying Voldemort the Heir to the Black Family, twice by destroying a Horcrux and thrice by providing the means for muggleborns of Hogwarts to be safely smuggled out of Hogwarts.

It grows when a Hufflepuff remembers being Senju Hashirama and his Ravenclaw brother remembers being Senju Tobirama, it grows when they defy the Dark Lord thrice; once when they smuggle the current muggleborns out of Hogwarts, twice when they use Genjutsu to hide the names of future muggleborns, thrice when they create group called Will of Fire towards the end of July.

It succeeds when Voldemort has the Ministry print out wanted posters for Will of Fire, when he declare them to be killed on sight, when he rages at not being able to find them; it succeeds when Voldemort marks Will of Fire as a threat, as a match for his Death Eaters and he cannot comprehend how they avoid detection.

It succeeds because the Wizarding World believed 'one' meant a single person, because Will of Fire made it mean one people.

So lets switch things up a bit and start with Harry.

Harry.

I love Harry.

He's this boy with the weight of prophecy, heroism, impossible expectations, and such attention on his shoulders. He knows so little about the magical world, for all he slowly proves pretty damn talented, and his muggle background is about as far from supportive as you can get.

He's abused and this fundamentally rewrites his love map, his perception of himself and his own worth; he's not some theory genius because he'd rather be doing, acting, making a tangible difference, because he's always had to think on his feet and school has never been his friend. Getting grades too high and he's punished, his teachers turning a blind eye or actually believing the Dursleys...! And then! Hogwarts isn't much better when everyone thinks he's supposed to be as smart and cool and strong as the stories say, when teachers hate him and want him dead, when so many other things seem more important!

Harry is smart, though, but there are things he doesn't pick up on; he's so quick to identify suspicion, resentment, fear, danger, because that was his life for so long. Affection, admiration, love are foreign concepts and that in itself makes him feel uncomfortable and wrong footed, not even getting into the distrust of positivity.

He spends his time just trying to survive and living is a secondary thing. Nothing good stays, it all feels underscored by the cruelties (like deaths, Voldemort, the Dursleys) that he can't escape. His life is only pricked by little glimmers of happiness, when he gets to forget for a short time, and it's hard to keep that mentality on straight.

Harry is kind. He's so bewildered and lost and out of his depths in so many things, like when confronted by aspects of magical society he's never been exposed to but so many people take for granted, and he's never handled with the same understanding that other muggle-raised get (Hermione probably unwittingly adds to this because she's a Muggle-born but she's read more than most purebloods have). Harry is never cruel to people, when he lashes out it's usually because he's been provoked. He is friends with Luna, he is fiercely loyal to Ron, he encourages Neville, he is patient with Hermione.

Harry doesn't understand social queues or positive emotions very well - and, when confronted by an awkward or dubious social situation, like Ron complaining about Hermione, he doesn't agree but he also doesn't know how to speak up whilst navigating other kids and new friendships... Squaring up to Draco is much much easier - but there is a reason the hat wanted him for Slytherin and I don't believe that stupid house-essentialism for a fucking second.

But Harry is shrewd. He knows the moment someone has dodgy designs on him, moody sets his wires off even if harry then chalks it up to him just being fucking weird to everyone, and quirrell is not a threat as much as he is uncomfortable and strange.... Tom Riddle couldn't get harry to really trust him, so I think we should give some credit where it's due and not just... Make Harry swerve between "blindly hotheaded and oblivious" and "manipulative Slytherin-core". Harry has a temper but he's quiet, watchful, and intensely private. He also has a very honorable core in him, even if his morals can flutter around depending on the situation, and he is intensely lonely.

Enter: Shisui.

Shisui, specifically in this AU as a Hufflepuff Heir Black, is such a good pairing for Harry and Harry is very good for Shisui. Regulars will know my favoured Shisui qualities so, instead of regurgitating that list for the Nth time, I'll use Shisui to explain the pairing instead.

Expectations: Shisui is the bastard Heir Black, his father a turncoat DE and his uncle the man who betrayed the Potters, half his family dead or in Azkaban, and it's just a wreck. Shisui's memories mean that he's pretty okay with managing the attention, with cultivating a friendly persona, and then SHOCKER- Heir Black is a fucking Hufflepuff?! Everyone thinks he must be bit of a waste of space and this helps take the heat off him a bit. These two boys will absolutely understand each other, the shame of horrible families and the terrible weight of legacy that has done nothing but offer heartache, the fickleness of the Hogwarts staff and population, the carefulness about making friends to be really vulnerable with...

School logistics: Hufflepuff and Gryffindor don't rub shoulders much but they do sit back to back on their benches in the great hall so there is a good chance for meal-time chatter, especially when shit hits the fan. in class, shisui is gonna be a genius. This is just what will happen, he has the memories of a previous lifetime as a prodigy, and this might be a whole new world with no Sharingan but his mind knows what to do. Shisui devours magical books. He's driving Hermione up the wall. He's somehow (😏) Hogwarts champion and he's actively helping Harry and omg they're working together is this allowed? During second year, shisui is one of the few who barely bats an eyelash at the parseltongue and he's setting his housemates straight about Harry and Harry is actually noticing and thinking... Omg... Who is this guy to be helping me... And then in third year, Shisui is convinced to try for seeker so he and Harry play matches against each other, Shisui is under intense pressure because of Sirius's escape, he catches harry when he falls from his broom... Like are you starting to get the picture here?

Personalities: feral loyal. Honorable but willing to bend morals. Understand the weight of destiny, of legacy, the hunted feeling of an enemy. Shisui will absolutely kill for Harry and Harry would be so relieved because holy shit they're actually in it together, not just emotionally but actually in it. And Harry is hot tempered and suspicious and Shisui gets it, holy shit he GETS it, and Harry is so ride or die and so is Shisui, and Harry is running the DA and Shisui stays behind and shows Harry how to throw punches and break noses and flip assailants and... 😫🤌✨

Quidditch boyfriends... Quidditch adrenaline junkie boyfriends, Shisui is so fucking fast at apparating that he can hop around in a duel and Harry's patronus always wanders to Shisui every single time and they gut Grimmauld Place together and they hold each other so tight and swear 'I will hold on, I'm beside you' and that's beautiful to me

I'd imagine he's more than unneved, considering shisui's likeness to sirus, but shisui is a sunshine of a person and also in hufflepuff? yet also strangely competent? and does spells in a way that spells are not meant to be spelled??? and what does shisui think of werewolfs and their treatment by wizard society?

Well....

Sirius was loud and vicarious and wild, he laughed like a dog barked and his grin had teeth and he was like a force of nature, mischievous and vengeful and dedicated to his beloved friends... And yet... He gave James, arguably the other half of his soul, to Voldemort.

Regulus was pale and thin, the moon to Sirius's sun, and he was sharp and keen, he turned inwards and festered whilst Sirius burned outwards. He was like a cornered animal at the end, paranoid and disgusted and hating himself as much as the Dark Lord (not that anyone knows it for a long time). To Remus, Regulus was always disgusted and betrayed and burning coldness.

Shisui... is both and neither of them. He looks frighteningly like the brothers, who could've been imitations of each other - Sirius was suave, roguish charm with tousled black curls and smouldering grey eyes, whilst Regulus was like a thin slither of moonlight, brooding grey eyes and long lashes and solemn and cold - but he smiles with more peace than Sirius ever could and with more openness than Regulus ever showed. He's jaded but not angry at the world, like Sirius, or disgusted by others, like Regulus. He talks to people freely, he has a moral backbone and the honor of a noble warrior, his smiles are warm and he reaches out to others. He doesn't prank, he's protective, and his fighting as always been as the defender or wronged party against bullies. He's as brilliant as either Black brother but it's not because he's causing trouble or got something to prove, it's for the outside world and his own future.

Shisui has the same dark curls and smoky irises but his smile dimples his cheeks and crinkles the corners of his eyes, his tie is gold and black and his friends aren't purely light or dark. He's a Seeker, like his father, and he's as fierce a friend as his uncle.

But, for all their differences, Sirius and Regulus' stories had something so heartbreaking in common; blood will out and they threw the world aside for Voldemort.

To Remus, it doesn't bring comfort if Shisui is more or less like his uncle or father. Resembling either of them is a horrible, gut wrenching thing.

Remus care barely look at him enough to catch all the ways Shisui is completely different to either....

As for Shisui, Remus is not a problem. Shisui didn't have an issue with Jinchuuriki, at his death the Uchiha had become a bloodline to be suspected and feared, so this 'bloodline' isn't the same alien thing as it might be to other magicals. He would just be rightfully wary that Remus, unlike most magicals, actually would have an impressive physical threat!

what if theres like a fight with death eaters, rivals, or whatever else, and everyone is using magic and shisui just- is suplexing people or decking them in the gut or jaw (or knifing them) and everyone else is like ☹️☹️☹️ because he actually is physically fighting them and getting blood on him

also how adept is shisui with his non-conventional magic in destruction? how well can he maim/kill people? and does he have the same mental fortitude as before? or does he want to prevent unnecessary killing?

Tbh I think this could go... in a very interesting and kinda melancholy direction.

So, Shisui and Itachi were supposed 'pacifists', the definition of which is "a person who believes that war and violence are unjustifiable." So it's not simply disliking violence, it's not just wanting peace, it's thinking that any violent action is in itself is always going to be the problem and never a real solution.

So.... Shisui is reborn in a world that is violent, yes, but not inherently so like Narutoverse. Children aren't child soldiers, the system itself is not reliant on mercenaries and assassins (how is 'world peace' even sustainable in Naruto unless Shinobi are willing to give up some of their violence? Who are you killing, who are you infiltrating? Is this just a war on crime instead of foreign nations? Anyway-) and Harry's experience of violence/attacks is very much not the norm.

So, I propose this; Shisui is heartbroken by his relief that he doesn't have to kill people anymore. He's so guilty in this relief, because holy shit it really did take him dying and leaving all of his loved ones and his home behind to get this. In fact, the adventures of their school years are almost... painfully nostalgic, and it's awful as much as it is a familiar experience. Shisui's kept up his training, because the best defense is a good offense and his family is hostile, but using his speed and flexibility etc in DADA class, to hunt down the Slytherin monster, in Quidditch, in the Tournament, in the DA, in the war... It feels so different to fighting in Narutoverse.

I don't think Shisui would necessarily be 'covered' in blood because I think he'd really have some problems with bloodshed. He doesn't have the Sharingan anymore but the trauma is really deeply rooted and his death... The blindness and the blood and eye trauma... I don't think Shisui would be merrily killing people, blood splattering the walls (I'm only being a little ridiculous with that description). However, I do think he would punch people because he is a pacifist but he would just acknowledge that the action might be problematic but that's a 'wrong' he will, grim-faced, take on himself.

It's like the necessary evil, Shisui's whole thing with martyrdom and killing others. He wants to be free of violence but he knows the world isn't as neat and he's... he's good at it. In the heat of the moment, he will always choose killing an enemy - in magic, this will literally split his soul - than losing an innocent/loved one.

This matches with Harry, tbh, as he always takes the responsibility of other's injuries etc on his own conscience and he throws himself into dangerous situations because better him than anyone else/allowing the worst to happen.

Shisui will still fight, he has to, but he won't be... dashing through the world, slitting throats and tearing people limb from limb, yk? However... The people they're up against... Shisui will kill them. He's too world-weary, he knows that a downed enemy can rise again to hurt you or others, not to put people down permanently.

It's more like... Shisui doesn't have a knife but he has his fists and he has his magic. In Narutoverse, he known for his incapacitating illusions and his speed, so it's not like he was once a Shinobi known for cracking heads with his thighs, yk? Here, he'll do much the same; overwhelming the mind, ending a fight before it can really begin, protecting more than killing for itself.

So picture this;

The Department of Mysteries. Lucius Malfoy comes out from between the shelves and tells his cousin by marriage not to be a fool. Absolutely none of the DE's could foresee the magical, mental hammer to the skull they get, or the furious flurry of punches that break bone as easily as a curse.

Shisui might not be pulling out a sword and severing limbs but that doesn't mean the magicals aren't horrified. They don't physically fight, that's what muggles do! They don't do much exercise, it's Quidditch or nothing, so Shisui's athleticism is genuinely unnerving. He's so much faster than most humans, on top of everything, and he's fucking strong and what can you do when your spells don't hit him before he hits you?

Harry teaches the DA to survive a magical fight, to win, but Shisui teaches them how - to use their fists, their kicks, their flips - to survive.

Shisui might not be an assassin anymore but for peace, for protection, he will kick ass and take names!

Okay so yes Ino is Shisui's hostage, everyone better hold onto their tits because it's about to get apocalyptic in here.... So how does Shisui do this task?

I wanna say he water walks for a bit, using point-me, and then he has this horrible moment where he's staring into the water beneath his feet and it's dark and murky and Ino is down there, possibly drowning even though logically she can't be, and shisui is freaking the fuck out but he's also frozen in terror and he's getting more and more worked up and he just... Explodes into action, there's water going everything, it's like a god-damned bomb went off, he's struggling to swim as fast as possible and freaking out through the bubble head charm and oh my GOD there's another little girl down here WHAT THE FUCK and Harry is waiting already and he's torn too and then Krum arrives looking like a fucking SHARK and shisui and harry agree to grab all three hostages, they get close to the surface and suddenly harry seems to be choking, Shisui freaks the FUCK out and drags him into his bubblehead charm so they're gasping for air close enough for their mouths to almost touch and it's panicking and hoooooooly shit and-

This is actually so interesting because how did Ino die and how are they the only ones here? (Drawing the line at these two otherwise Naruto canon events bleed way too much over)? My theory? Ino ripped Danzo's stolen Kotoamatsukami out of his head at 16 whilst fighting Izanagi and it did to her what it did to Shisui, which is, throw her soul across dimensions... Ta dah! (Plot holes? No that's ventilation ✨)

I think you mentioned once that Shisui actively sucks at real magic, but gets results anyway by using it like chakra, can you expand on this? I am a massive sucker for magic systems and also pretending you know stuff but you're just faking it in fics. Are there certain things Shisui can't do with magic? are there certain things that Shisui's weird technique allows him to do that magic normally can't? Does Hermione ask for a description of his spellcasting and his description makes her even more confused about Shisui than before? Also, does Shisui just know enough jutsu he can slap together it in a way to match the spells? Is that just how he does stuff????

I think it's like a Venn diagram? So you have chakra and magic and where they overlap...it gets...messy

So shisui doesn't have chakra any more, right? And magic works differently, you can't augment your muscles etc in the same way, so Shisui knows it's different. For magic that is totally new, like idk cleaning charms, Shisui learns the proper way to do the spell and it's all okay.

But where it can overlap, where he does have memories and instinct to do these things another way... It's harder. A mental block, in some cases, and a shortcut in others.

Examples:

Note: chakra fills the body through channels like veins and has been proven to expell through the skin wherever it's focused (with hand signs). Magic, however, is more centered and wild and therefore usually requires a focus, mainly a wand or staff, to direct it like a stream tapping into a well of energy rather than energy circulating on its own. Accidental magic (you don't get accidental chakra really) is an outburst caused by high emotions.

a cheering charm. Shisui was a master of Genjutsu even without the sharingan, so casting an illusion of a feeling would feel much more natural and he would struggle not to give into that for the same result.

A stunner. This is more hands on, since Shisui would want to use either physical force or an illusion to force unconsciousness.

Elemental spells. Aguamenti... Even fiendfire would be dangerously easy to someone like Shisui because he is very familiar with elemental manipulation.

Transfiguration, like a bird into a water goblet, would be hard. It's new material, technically, but the temptation to make it a Genjutsu of another thing? Shisui would probably start doubting his own senses after a while haha

So, basically, Shisui is a normal if powerful student for everyday things but the moment spells could be made more effective... Or sabotaged... By his memory of chakra manipulation, then things start getting messy.

Tom is also incredibly confused because for FUCKS sake shisui is only writing in Narutoverse-japanese at the start and Tom can't WORK in these conditions

I haven't read Harry Potter in years but the idea of Shisui as a Black is so fan-fucking-tastic! Shisui, who has the loyalty of a Hufflepuff with the love for knowledge of a Ravenclaw and the ambition of a Slytherin mixed with the bravery of a Gryffindor? He would be the HP equivalent of a Divergent lmao the Sorting Hat would have such a hard time sorting him and after a while it's Shisui who's like, "Just put me into Hufflepuff and let get this over with, this is just embarassing at this point."

ALSO. I feel like I should share my little crossover fucked up ship: Shisui/Draco.

I admit that I have absolutely no idea if they would work, but I sure like to daydream

Ah, it would be a trio in Hufflepuff, so Susan Bones and Hannah Abbott

Susan's aunt is the head of the DMLE, she is fierce and protective and also shrewd, and Hannah's parents are healers so the two of them are very much grounding and looking after Shisui (Ino very much approves)
