pkmn au prologue pt1 <3

"Momm.. I don't want to." Shin whined, slumped over on the couch.

This was the day Shin Tsukimi was meant to set out on his very first Pokemon journey. It was not at all his idea, but unfortunately here he is.

His mother had suggested the idea, since she couldn't bear to just watch him rot away in his room and play video games all day. Seriously. That boy is pale as hell.

"Shin, please. You promised you'd meet with Professor Tia. I'll get your father to drag you out of the house if you don't get up." He immediately stands up, albeit a little wobbly. "C'mon sweetie. Here's your beanie." She tosses the hat to him.

"Fine. I-I need to grab my backpack.." He mutters as he adjusts his beanie, starting to walk to his room to find his bag. Before he even gets to the hallway, his mother stops him. "Wait a moment,"

He stops, looking at her with a puzzled expression. "Your father and I actually have something to give you. Aha.. I guess you could say it's a late birthday present! Close your eyes sweetie."

Shin raises an eyebrow at that. A late birthday present..? He has a few suspicions on what it may be. "Um.. alright." He's already managed to figure it out, yet he's almost dreading the surprise. He shuts his eyes.

It's probably a Pokemon.. but, he doesn't really even like Pokemon. They're scary. They're the closest thing to the monsters under his bed that he's always been afraid of since he was a young child.

His mother gently grabs his hand, and lays it out flat. She puts what feels like a ball.. no, a Poke ball, in the center of his palm. "Open your eyes." He sighs, and opens his eyes.

As expected. Well, not completely. It's not a regular Poke ball.. it's mostly white, with a red line running horizontally along the ball.

"M.. Mom. Is this.. what I think it is?" He stares at the Poke ball in his hand, unsure if he should.. well, send out whatever Pokemon may be inside. "Yes, it is. It's your very first Pokemon. Whenever you're ready, sweetie." She watches Shin expectantly, a hopeful smile on her lips.

"Ehh.. um.. alright. How do I-" He fumbles with the ball a bit, before eventually clicking the circular button on the front. A red beam comes out from the Poke ball, before disappearing as a Pokemon appears before him. "..." Awkward silence. "Huh?"

A white, silvery colored Eevee tilts it's head up at him in curiosity. Shin is.. a little shocked. He was expected a much weirder.. or scarier looking Pokemon. But surprisingly, it's kind of cute. The coloration is a little strange though.

"Um. Is it.. supposed to look like that? I thought Eevees were brown." He looks almost disappointed. He was gifted a 'weird' looking Pokemon? Everyone's gonna pick on him now..

"Oh, don't be like that..! This is a shiny Pokemon.. your father has been working endlessly to find one for you! It's just special, is all. Say hi to your new partner." The small Pokemon makes a little noise, trying to get Shin's attention. "What..?? Eh, um.." He squats down to the Eevee's level. With a shaky hand, he reaches out to pet him.

"H-Hello.. you're gonna be with me now. You're my first Pokemon, so.. please be patient with me." He mutters, sounding a little embarrassed to be talking with a Pokemon. The Eevee nods as if agreeing, nuzzling it's head into Shin's hand while letting out noises of content.

"Ah..? How.. how sweet, hehe.." His cheeks tint a light red, with his expression softening. Shin looks back up at his mother, giving a nod of approval. "Thank you, mom. I think I'm actually ready to go now." He stands up, feeling a bit more optimistic now.

Maybe being a Pokemon trainer won't be too bad.. ah, why did he have to complain so much before? His mother was just trying to do something good for him...

His mom looks overjoyed. "You are? Wow, I thought I'd never get you to leave the house!" He pouts. "Aw, I'm kidding Shin. Now now, don't leave Professor Tia waiting!"

"I-I won't. Just let me get my bag first. C'mon, Eevee.."

Shin's Chaotic First Adventure, with Joe! (shin pokemon trainer au !!!)

-Shin Tsukimi is a fifteen year old boy who likes to stay inside all day on his computer. He's never been one for the outdoors, especially with his.. er.. weak frame and general dislike of nature, but today's the day he'll change!

-He wasn't the one to suggest being a Pokemon trainer.. it was his mother's idea. He wasn't too thrilled at first with the concept.

-His first Pokemon was an Eevee, gifted to him by his parents. His father works as a Pokemon researcher, so Shin isn't unfamiliar with Pokemon. He just.. never had any interest in them. He's actually quite fearful of most Pokemon. But he's embarrassed about it, so don't bring it up!

-His childhood best friend, or rather, Joe Tazuna, is a very close friend of his. He would never usually be friends with someone like Joe, who's much too gaudy and playful for him. But even so.. they contrast each other well. Shin's grateful to have someone like him by his side.

The two are starting an adventure together.. how will it go..?
