so I promised to talk about russian fandoms

and suddenly the first one will be Дом, в котором..., or The Gray House (apparently there are translation to english now! go go read!)

this one is the book, as you probably guessed. it’s marketed as young adult, althrough it’s leaning heavily at adult part of this. yes, most of the characters are teens or kids, but those teens are not uwu soft highschoolers and they like. fuck, smoke, do drugs and plan murders (dark academy vibes?)

what the plot? well, I don’t know how it’s in us or europe, but in russia we still have ‘special schools’ for disabled kids. it’s mostly boading schools because there can be one such school for the whole sity or state. kids can go home for weekends or stay there for the whole year. if they are orphans, they probably live there permanently.

The Gray House one of such schools. since schools usually take one type of disability, this one take kids with err how you say it in english mmm well those who are in wheelchairs or with prosthetics or pharalitic etc (althrouh there are some exeptions: Blind there because he was last school psychologist pet project, Macedonsky there because his family payed so they won’t deal with him but he’s epileptic and not disabled in other ways)

are all characters in this book disabled? yes. yes, every one, even some teachers. and they are really good written! no plots about cure or revenge, no moping about my poor disabled life, nope. those kids too busy with school politics and teen angst and magic (that’s later shh). anyway most of my disabled pals love this book and recomend this to ablebodied to read but I don’t know, maybe for european sensibilites it will be ableist somehow. dunno.

so, another good thing: there’s little to none romance. there’s also relationships as close as we can get to canon gay pair in russian book (read this and see yourself). but what kids do if they don’t chase the girl/the boy, you can ask?

well, there in the school we have two realities. first one is “normal”, althrough normal is not the word I would chose to explain it. all kids live in Rooms, and every Room is like a Tribe, and your Tribe has a Theme, and you will stick to the Theme or you will Die (no, not ironically). there’s The Dogs, who wear collars and growl at teachers, and there’s The Birds, who’s the gothest of all the goths, and there’s The Rats who diy their hairs in green and can slash you with razor. (girls live on other part of House and have another shit going on). those Tribes have a very complicated relationships and alliances, and battle for the Head of House literally end in death. so our protagonist trying to deal with this shit. there’s also The Other Side, another realm, another reality. you can get there if you are The Jumper, or if you took special drug. there’s whole another mistical world, and it can be cool or can be creepy and you can stuck there and spend years and than get in your world and go completely crazy. haha fun! so our protagonist of course don’t believe in this shit, but he will deal with it if he want it or not. there’s also side quests — what’s about murder that happened ten years ago? and will another murder happen this year? but most important — what will kids choose? because it’s their last year there, and after graduation they should go to the Outside, and they afraid of Outside, cause they spent almost theit whole lifes there and don’t know how to survive in the real world. but they can choose to go to the Other Side and live there forever...

this book don’t shy from critical look at our education sistem of course. I can talk about this for hours lol

so, it has pretty big fandom! a lot of pairings, mostly slash, a little of fem. really massive part of fandom into roleplaying, both in internet and real life, and also into cosplay. I wasn’t there for a long time and can’t really share any anecdotes but I can recommend the book, so — go read!

literally nothing more embarrassing than falling on the same type of white man over and over again (with the exception of minho from shinee bless his heart)

tommy joe ratliff → he was the bass player for adam lambert during his glamnation era (think of songs like for your entertainment and if i had you) idk why exactly i liked him so much but i just did.... however i searched him up again quite recently and found out he’s one of those republicans that says the dumbest shit on twitter so Big Yikes

harry styles → “baby you light up my world like nobody else, the way that you flip your hair gets me overwhelmed, and when you smile at the ground it ain’t hard to tell...” and BOOM 13-year-old me was sold for well over two years

louis tomlinson → basically i liked harry most until around 2013 when for some reason i started to like him a little less, and i got more focused on louis tomlinson, and although i didn’t like one direction anymore louis tomlinson always had a special place in my heart

harries twins → the harries twins (jack & finn) are basically the reason i started spending a lot of time on youtube, they were funny and pretty and they just had good videos in general, so for almost two years i’d watch their content regularly

jc caylen → surprise! another youtuber! jc caylen was part of o2l (our2ndlife) a youtube collaboration channel on which each of the 6 members posted videos on a certain day in the week (mondays with connor, tuesdays with ricky, wednesdays with sam, thursdays with jc, fridays with trevi (my 2nd favorite member bc she participated on the x factor), saturdays with ricardo, and then they had surprise sundays every week) and i remember how much joy jc & the others always brought me with their silly videos

misha collins → up next, you might know him as the gay angel that was sent to superhell after confessing his love to the homophobic hunter on supernatural, it’s misha collins! basically misha was a huge source of comfort for me, and i even went around calling myself emmisha for almost two full years (cringe)

henrik holm → he played even bech naesheim in skam and my crush on him reached that level of ridiculousness where i actually tried my hand at learning norwegian (i can only remember how to introduce myself and some curse words i would make a great first impression on him)

min yoongi → okay so my baby steps into kpop happened through shinee’s sherlock, but i only got really invested when yoongi dropped agust d 1 because Holy Fuck y’know??

kim namjoon → oh man i remember thinking namjoon was cute and a very good leader and then BAM he dressed like THAT at the 2016 mma’s and i fell in love. hard

park seojoon → i started liking park seojoon whilst i was watching hwarang (you guessed it, i watched it bc of taehyung), although he wasn’t my favorite character by far, but he was very silly off camera & i liked that (i’m not that into him anymore tho </3)

kim seokjin → OH BOY LET ME TELL U i liked seokjin from the very beginning (i got to know bts in late 2014) and i always liked seeing him perform and be himself and god once i realized i had a crush on him it just hit me like a mf truck, and he’s still one of my favorite people to this day

jung hoseok → god fake love era hoseok really hits different.... also yes i know i have all of bts’ hyung line on my list BUT bts was a really big part of my life for almost 6 years soooo honestly they deserve it i still think they’re great guys

lee minho → ah, the man who has been my skz bias since 2018, not only is minho my bias i also kin him (there’s a lot of aspects of myself that i see in minho and vice versa) and he’s very comforting to me

lee yoobin → god i’ve known dreamcatcher from back when they were still called minx and ever since i’ve always looked at dami that bit more than the rest, i was also able to see dreamcatcher live in october of 2019 and the whole experience was just so amazing !!

book boreo is so soft??? like on page 300, theo was describing how affectionate boris was and how they often fell asleep in each others arms: “on nights when i woke up strangled with fear there he was, catching me when i started up terrified from the bed, pulling me back down in the covers beside him, muttering nonsense in Polish, his voice throaty and strange with sleep. We’d drowse off in each other’s arms, listening to music from my ipod.”  “the first time he’s turned in bed and draped an arm over my waist, i lay there half-asleep for a moment, not knowing what to do: staring at my old socks on the floor, empty beer bottles, my paperback copy of The Red Badge of Courage. at last---embarrassed--  I faked a yawn and tried to roll away, but instead he sighed and pulled me closer, with a sleepy, snuggling motion. “shh, Potter,” he whispered into the back of my neck “is only me.” It was weird. Was it weird? It was; and it wasn’t. I’d fallen back to sleep shortly after, lulled by his bitter, beery unwashed smell and his breath easy in my ear.” And on page 299 when Theo is describing Boris  and how distant he was and how and what he missed about him: “But still i was lonely. It was Boris i missed, the whole impulsive mess of him: gloomy, reckless, hot-tempered, appallingly thoughtless. Boris pale and pasty, with his shoplifted apples and his Russian language novels, gnawed down fingernails and shoelaces dragging in the dust. Boris-budding alcoholic, fluent curser in four different languages-- who snatched food from my plate when he felt like it and nodded it off drunk on the floor, face red like he’d been slapped. even when he took things without asking, as he all too frequently did--little things were always disappearing, DVDS and school supplies from my locker.” that being said, book boreo is literally amazing and i love it. and i dont just like it bc uwu gay soft boy. their relationship has more development in the book then the movie. in the movie, it does show them hanging out quite often,having sleepovers a lot, but it didnt show how boris practically lived at Theos place, or how they literally spent christmas together. and it progressed a lot throughout the book. and i do understand that not every single detail can be fit into the movie, bc that would be a long ass movie, but their relationship/friendship shows a lot more in the book then it did in the movie, thank you for coming to my ted talk.

i’ve had this idea of todoroki not being able to feel anything for a while and finally figured out how i wanted it to go down >:3c

so what if a girl from another class has a quirk that, when she touches people, can make them stop feeling things physically for an extended amount of time? (there’s more to it but i’ll get into is later shh) she has a crush on todoroki and tries to confess to him, but he turns her down because she’s “not his type” i’m sorry ma’am the boy is gay

she’s upset- of course- but apologizes from taking up his time, pats his shoulder, and leaves

he goes on with the rest of the day only to realize he can’t feel anything??

and not like emotions- he can still feel those

but he didn’t feel it when kaminari accidently dropped a book on his foot

or when kirishima cut his arm during quirk training

and it wasn’t just pain?? it was normal touch too

tsu tried getting his attention by tapping his shoulder and he didn’t turn to look at her until she actually spoke

so he goes to aizawa and he recommends he goes to recovery girl

turns out she can’t do anything but informs him it’s the affect of a quirk and should go away at some point

she does give him a kiss which he can’t feel just incase it’ll help

it doesn’t

the affect lasts for a couple of days and the boy still doesn’t feel anything :(

it does have some upsides for training though! but then again, he didn’t realize he was bleeding until iida freaked out and took him to the nurse

by now he’s kinda used to it,, he misses feeling touch but he did go a majority of his life without physical affection so what’s a while more?

but then during class 1-a’s official movie night- midoriya leans against his arm and he can feel it??

and he’s like “um what the fuck?”

and uh oh he said that out loud

so midoriya immediatly tries to scoot away but todoroki is not having any of that!!

“i’m sorry todoroki, i guess i was falling asleep there! i’ll move over-“

“no i could feel that.”

“wha???”

he pulls midoriya closer to him bc damnit he missed feeling the warmth of another person

although now midoriya is kinda panicking and confused but he just goes with it

after that they don’t separate for the rest of the week

whenever todoroki really feels like he needs to feel again he gives the other a look and midoriya will pet his hair or hold his hand for a bit

it becomes pretty normal and the rest of the class doesn’t seem too bothered by it

after a second week, the quirk no longer affects him but midoriya doesn’t need to know that

he just really likes when midoriya specifically touches him?? and he’s worried if he tells him that he can feel again, the small touches will go away

eventually it goes on long enough that questions are starting to be asked about their relationship

both boys themselves can’t really answer bc honestly? they don’t know either

todoroki isn’t stupid though, he knows he has a hUge crush on the other, he’s just not gonna admit it yet

after a month goes by, todoroki starts feeling bad about “using” midoriya for his own selfish reasons

so he tells him he can feel things again, and that he’s been able to for a while

“oh? i already knew that. uraraka told me a while ago that she saw you burn your tongue on some tea- which reminds me, does half your tongue get burnt and the other doesn’t-“

“wait you knew? then why did you continue to do all that for me?”

“o-oh i just- i like spending time with you and i.. i guess i used your problem as an excuse to be able to touch you??”

they’re both horrible at the whole confessing thing and things are kinda awkward for a bit

not the bad kind but sometimes todoroki will put his hand over midoriya’s while they’re studying and pull away when midoriya tenses up

or midoriya will try to put his arm around todoroki while they’re sitting on the couch but jump away when todoroki reacts at all

they eventually start dating though

one of them finally makes a move and kisses the other while watching a movie :,)

a month or so into their relationship, todoroki finds that girl that confessed to him during lunch

he’s put it together that she’s the one who made him unable to feel and confronts her

“oh! yeah i’m super sorry about that! my quirk acts up sometimes when i’m upset.”

it’s called “touch timeout” which is super lame but it’s 1 am and i can’t think of anything else

turns out her quirk cancels out physical feeling from everyone- excluding whoever you touched last

before she had confessed to him, he and midoriya had bumped into each other while leaving the classroom

the two do end up being friends tho! she’s supportive of his and midoriya’s relationship and he helps her stabilize her quirk uwu

and yea that’s it!! i can’t really think of anything else :,)

In the musical ‘Romeo & Juliette’ by TOHO, the scene wherein Romeo tells Father Lawrence about having fallen in love is always an open script.

During the February 24, 2017 performance, Romeo walked into Lawrence’s monastery, trying to break the news to his uncle figure. (Disclaimer: I don’t remember every single line by heart.)

‘Romeo & Juliette’ 2019

In 2019, Furumeo continued in the scene where he gets tricked into giving Benvolio a mouth-to-mouth by having him play dead, and tell Romeo that the only thing that can save him is CPR.

Furumeo however, “kisses by the book” (Quote from Shakespeare), and Benvolio is scared shitless, and drops the act before their lips (read: teeth) clash.

Furumeo was incredibly relieved that his friend was not really dead, and scolds everyone:
