I was drawing up a ravioli comic because apparently I can't do challenges like a normal human being and drew up Sheerow from memory. I just wanted to get my idea on the canvas and figure details later. Well, im a perfectionist so I wouldn't have been able to sleep if I didn't at least Google the little thing.
And.....
WHY IS IT SO NIGHTMARE FUEL??
Look !
Tumblr media
IT HAS FEETS. ACTUAL LITTLE FEETIES. PUT THE GRIPPERS AWAY.
And those lightless eyes..... Sheero why are you the way you are ?? Well IT IS cute but also creepy--
Tumblr media
Anyways, have a more round, actually bird like Sheerow I drew up when I was still unaware of the little ball true nature
Yea it's sipping stealing some soup.

Errmm actually it was a way to test if a woman was a witch. They would tie the woman's thumbs to her big toes and chuck her in the river. If she floats then the devil is helping her and she would be fished out and burnt at the stake. So dead. And if she sunk, she was not a witch. but also dead.

Oh, and my personal favorite:
Izzy, Rounding Down by Gregory Sherrow: Chronically ill due to cancer, experiences fatigue.
This one is my favorite because I haven't seen many entries in this genre that allow for adventure and action without glossing over the impact of chronic symptoms on decision-making.
RB with your favourite disabled characters.
I'm starting @disabledcharacters and need a starting point.
Also, looking for members to create edits (one gifset a month) and help with the queue.

“MISTER HERO, YOU ARE A RABBIT???” Ravio’s shout was so loud that Link was sure all of Hyrule had heard him.
“No, Rav, I’m not. It’s just a form like any other.”
“Mister Hero, I don’t think you understand the implications of what you just told me,” the merchant said in a strangely calm voice. “You have the ability to transform into the most beautiful creature that can exist in this world… and I request you to show me.” Even without looking, Link could feel Ravio’s green eyes staring at him.
“First of all, I don’t have to show you anything if I don’t want to. Second, it’s not like I can. Unless you can bring enough darkness to my soul to make me transform, you’ll have to settle for my Hylian form.” Ravio continued to stare at him, but at least he stopped talking. Link put away the blade he had been preparing and decided to clean the old mirror that started this all mess of a conversation.
“When you come back from your missions, you smell really bad,” Ravio blurted out.
Link stopped rubbing the mirror to turn around and face the other man. Ravio looked at him, and after a short silence, continued his rambling: “I don’t like that you don’t let me sell items that you don’t use anyway, and your bees are ugly and disgusting and scary. We could just buy honey instead of having them at home all the time. You have really weird tastes in decoration, you look bad in the morning, your breath smells like old underwear when you drink coffee. Also, if I had to choose between you and Sherrow, I would choose Sherrow instead of you and—”
“What is happening right now?” Link asked, looking at Ravio with a confused gaze.
“Well… I was trying to bring darkness to your soul, but it’s not working. Maybe I should continue a little more?” Ravio replied, staring at Link’s ears as if he expected them to transform at any moment.
“NO! No, no thank you.” Link took a moment to collect himself. “You… why would you think that? You know what? I don’t want to know how you came to that conclusion. I was talking about dark magic, not making me feel bad about myself, Rav.”
Two giant emerald eyes looked at him before Ravio jumped on him and pulled him into an embrace. “Oh sweet Lolia, I am so, so, so sorry, Mister Hero! That was very petty of me. I didn’t mean to make you feel bad, I promise! Will you ever forgive me? If you want, I can sell you the ice rod you want for the small price of 600 rupees to show you how sorry I am.”
Link let Ravio calm himself in his arms, pondering his words. “Why did you say that to me? You know me better than anyone. If you thought making me feel bad was the solution, why talk about my tastes in decoration and not my adventures or something like that?”
“That would have been mean, Mister Hero, it’s not polite to talk about something that someone cannot change.” Ravio said, looking at him as if he were the weird one.
Link just laughed before burying his face in the Lorulian’s hair. He smelled like apples today, which meant he had stolen Link’s shampoo again. Link would take care of that later; for now, he was planning on enjoying a well-deserved nap in his lover arms. Maybe he could ask the rancher to give him his stange crystal for an hour at two so he could show Rav his rabbit form. He wouldn’t be against somme rub on the back of his ears.

Same as always
English is not my first language if i made any mistake tell me i really want to improve

Locs have a long history in Africa. Victoria Sherrow, the author of the Encyclopedia of Hair, A Cultural History 1, nàmed the priests of the Ethiopian Coptic Orthodox Church as some of the first people to have sported locs in Africa, as early as 500 BCE.
In certain spiritual and religious practices, locs can symbolize devotion, spirituality, and a commitment to a particular way of life. For example, in Rastafarianism, locs are considered a sacred hairstyle associated with the Nazarites and the covenant with Gòd.

Sherrow Fakemon evolution line! Designs not 100% final, I had a rough time with the colors. Sheercon got a big glow up, but I couldn’t figure out how to do its legs. Oh well. I’ll get better at fakemon designs eventually, I love doing these. Also I’m not completely sold on the names I chose, but I’m not the best with those either. I have a headshot of what Ravio looks like under the cut, he’s basically the same as his LU design besides the hood.
Tumblr media
I was thinking of coloring the inner ears of the hat, but it looked weird so I didn’t. I also just put a big ol’ shadow for under the hood, just to makes things easier for myself. Also the gem is green to match the rupee on his sash thing. Idk what’s it’s called.

How about some Modern au Ravioli headcannons?
They have two bunnies! Screamo and Deathmetal
Ravio is the really sweet goth to Legend's Midwestern emo
Every winter solstice they get each other at least one gift that is unicorn themed because someone once pointed out that pink and purple were "unicorn colors" and its been an inside joke ever sense
Ravio doesn't care much for pj sets but legend will always have a matching set
they take holiday photos to send to friends and family and its always super unhinged
Legend has a tree nut allergy. Why? Idk, feels right
Both are capible of cooking, but end up eating out most nights cause no one wants to do dishes
neat freaks, but in different ways so they have to split up their place into sections to clean
They have a pretty cohesive decor style but they just throw all their weird and fun decor into the bathroom
They have lego date nights cause neither have to really talk and they both adore just spending time together
Sherrow is also their and Legend kinda hated the bird at first but spoils him so much now
Legend knows so much about apples its insane and no one is quite sure why, legend doesn't even really know either
That being said they for SURE go on apple picking dates during the season
In fact, if its in season, they will go on any produce picking dates
Both have a creative taste in music but Ravio's is slightly more digestible
They go on pottery painting dates and paint them in the most unhinge way. Its a competition at this point.
If Legend tries to fix it, he absolutely will break it.
They both either sleep for 10 hours straight or 30 minutes per night, no in between
Enjoy!!! Hope it goes better today!!!!
Awww cute! Thank you!

Since Rinku is also from ALBW, does that mean that we can potentially have a Ravio? Or maybe just one drawing?
(Going crazy with your Links design)
Tumblr media
[Image Description: A colored drawing of Rinku and Ravio, standing opposite of each other. Rinku's hair is in a bun, and she holds a sword in one hand. She glares behind her. Ravio's purple-black hair fades into blue where Rinku's fades into blond, and is in a braid. He wears a floor length purple tunic/dress, and a dark blue vest. His scarf is the same as canon, blue and purple stripes. He carries a green rupee in one hand, and holds Sherrow up with the other. He looks behind himself with a nervous smile. End ID]
I drew them a while ago, actually, thanks for the excuse to share it early lol. I sort of made a equivalent outfit of Rinku's current outfit for Ravio. Otherwise, his outfit during albw is pretty much the exact same.
I'm not 100% sure How Much of Ravio will be in the actual comic, but he shall have an appearance, that's for sure. ....And, just since I can clarify this: Ravio has his own version of AlttP, OoX & LA that mirror's Rinku's, his just involves a lot less fighting and a lot more hiding.... which I may or may not write out.

Book and Documentary
As stated before, I found many sources from the Kutztown Library about Polio. This includes two books that I have found and two documentaries. I only read one of the books and I only watched one of the documentaries. Both of these sources helped me greatly in my research of Polio and Dr. Salk.
Let's talk about the book first. The book is called Jonas Salk Beyond the Microscope. This is a ten chapter book that explains Dr. Salk's research and how he came to be in the lab. The author, Victoria Sherrow, uses statistical facts in the book to prove the credibility of the information. While she explained what Dr. Salk was saying in his research, she used pictures to help the audience understand it more. She uses pictures and diagrams for the bacteria cells and the Lytic Life Cycle. This can help an audience who does not know anything about biology come to a better understanding.
In the first few chapters, Victoria explained what the Poliomyetis disease was and how it affected children and babies. She then goes on to explain Dr. Salk's life during the pandemic of Polio. At the end of the book, Sherrow talked about Jonas Salk's last days in the lab. Near the end of his science career, Dr. Salk tried to come up with an AIDS vaccine. As you can see Jonas Salk Beyond the Microscope can provide me with a ton of information I can use for future use. The book is an easy read especially for people who do not know a lot of things about biology. It has a lot of visual supports for a clear comprehension of Polio. For example, on one of the pages she has a picture of a child recovering from the paralysis of this crippling disease. The pictures really opened my mind and were a good idea to add into the chapters. This allowed the audience to understand the severity of this disease and also showed them what it was like living with the aftermath of the Polio.
The documentary also had a lot of facts that appealed to the audience. During the documentary, they showed pictures and videos of the children living with polio. The directors presented you with pictures of the iron lungs, children in the braces, and pictures of scientist hurrying to find a cure. The documentary also showed videos of children trying to walk in the braces. Throughout the documentary, the producers interviewed survivors of polio. They asked them what it was like living with it and how they were treated as a child. This showed ethos to the audience because the survivors are trusted sources without bias. As an audience, we were able to gain information from someone who experienced the disease. I feel as if the interviews with them specifically really grabbed my attention.
Throughout the documentary, they had clips of a former science editor named, Victor Cohn, pop up. It showed us glimpses of an interview he had. Cohn talked about what life was like when he was writing the article about the vaccine. He talked about the public and how they reacted with joy to the medical discovery. This gave the audience a view of what the public was going through rather than just the scientist point of view. The directors also included additional information about the history of Polio. The documentary had a narrator who talked about where the disease originated and how it spread through society. While the narrator talked, the show played a slow beat song that showed that it was a depressing time for families. The narrator talked about the deaths of children and how many were paralyzed while showing the pictures of them. This caused the audience to have a lot of emotions.
As for me, I felt very sad for the people and I also felt like I was there in the moment. Polio in general is a very sad disease that took many lives. Watching this documentary, made me feel more emotional especially with the pictures/videos and the music. If you want to watch a show that has a lot of credibility/factual information then this documentary from the History channel is worth watching!

I have a fun book recommendation for you all! I recently beta-read Rounding Down by Gregory Sherrow and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a sort of techno-thriller road trip story, which includes a plotline centered on a transgender woman and a sapphic romance. Also, one of the main characters is a (realistically written) chronically ill person with fatigue, and she still gets to go on the adventure!
During the story, the trans character tries to gain the power to escape her powerful, violent, and transphobic father. Many of us might relate to her situation. In the current political landscape, she has to navigate the minefield of bigots and businessmen alike attempting to profit off the situation. But her efforts end up sparking political unrest in an already culturally divided country, and have consequences she never imagined.
It was wonderful to be part of the publication process for this book. I truly appreciated that the other main character on this adventure is chronically ill and has realistic limitations due to her illness. That meant a lot to me, as a chronically ill person, since I so rarely see myself represented like that.
Rounding Down will be released on January 17th, and is currently available for preorder. The website is: https://www.bvbooks.com/rounding-down/. I highly recommend you give it a shot!

When the portal opened before them, it was anything but a relief. A portal meant stepping into a new place, perhaps far from civilization and likely not far from monsters. The uncertainty weighed heavily on Link’s chest, amplifying his anxiety.
“Are we sure we want to do this?” Link heard the captain shout. “The Vet is seriously hurt; he needs immediate care if we don’t want to lose him.” Link turned to look at the young man, his heart aching at the sight of someone so strong now reduced to a figure of pain. He didn’t even growl when the rancher forced him onto his back. The fight had been brutal—really brutal. The horde of Lynels had been spotted too late for their collector to escape before taking a fatal blow to his torso. He needed stitches and potions, two things they didn’t have right now, and the thought of losing him was unbearable.
Their leader looked at the young man for a moment before speaking. “We can’t let the portal close behind us. We have no choice; we need to move. Can someone put him on Epona’s back? It’s not perfect, but it’s the best we have. Every hand capable of fighting is crucial; our friend life depended on it.”
After what happened with the shadow and the rancher, everyone had been so cautious. Link felt a familiar weight of guilt pressing down on him. How could something like that happen? Someone was dying again, and he had been too late… again. He thought as he stepped through the portal. As always, he felt the slight tug of magic pulling him into this new world. He closed his eyes and let it happen. When the tug stopped, a mix of hope and fear washed over him as he opened his eyes to find himself in the middle of a clearing. There were no signs of monsters. The rancher was already putting their injured friend on his own back instead of Epona’s, probably to ensure he wouldn’t fall.
“Anyone recognize this place?” Link didn’t really need to look around to know it wasn’t Skyloft, so he remained silent, scanning his companions for any sign of recognition, but found nothing. An uneasy tension hung in the air, each of them wrestling with their own fears. Suddenly, he heard a loud snap followed by a series of small chirps. His friends drew their blades and looked up at the sky, spotting a small white silhouette.
“What is that ugly thing?” he heard Sailor mutter.
“It doesn’t look dangerous, but be careful anyway,” the captain replied, though Link could sense his own apprehension.
They all watched as the little ball of fluff descended and began to circle around them, still chirping. Link’s heart raced; he readied his bow, instinctively preparing for a fight, yet the creature seemed harmless. Before he could do anything, the small bird disappeared with a snap.
“Well, that was weird.”
“Let’s not stay here. It could be some kind of beacon, and it’s not time for us to be spotted by monsters.” Their leader started walking, and they all followed silently, hearing only the sounds of nature and the growls of their injured friend. Link’s mind raced with thoughts of the Vet; he couldn’t shake the feeling that time was running out.
It took only a few minutes for the small bird to return, this time just inches away from the Vet's face when he appeard. The bird started chirping loudly in his ears. The rancher tried to step away, but they heard the Vet speak again.
“I’m awake, Sherrow! I’m awake! Stop shouting in my ears, you spawn of darkness!” He said even while trying to look mad he was practically incapable of talking loud enough for anyone to hear him. The bird responded with a series of chirps before flying in front of the group.
“Vet, do you know this thing?” the old man asked, still keeping his hand on his sword.
“Yes, follow him. He knows where to go,” the Vet said before passing out again. Link felt a cold knot in his stomach. They were losing him.
“Well, we don’t have anything else to do, and it clearly hasn’t tried to kill us yet,” the Champion said, putting his sword away. “Let’s follow him.”
And so they did. The walk seemed never-ending, between the bird’s loud chirps and their Vet still bleeding out. A heavy silence enveloped them, filled with unspoken fears and worries. None of them were enjoying their time here. That was until they saw, at the top of a hill right in front of them, a small cottage surrounded by flowers and apple trees. Hope flickered in Link’s chest as they approached. As soon as the house was visible, Sherrow flew to it and went inside, still chirping. A few seconds later, the door of the house swung open, and a purple figure began shouting at them.
“Mister Hero! Come in quick! Where is he? What happened? Stop looking at me like that; I need any information you can give me. The bedroom is over there; put him on the bed!”
The old man began to explain while the rancher went to put the Vet in the bedroom, but Link was too occupied trying to understand what this strange masked man could be. A mix of curiosity and concern churned within him. He snapped back to reality when their leader stopped speaking.
“I see. All of you stay here; I’m taking care of him. Don’t go inside the bedroom no matter what. I cannot put him to sleep; he won’t be able to wake up, which means he will be in pain. Even if he yells, don’t come and distract me. Make yourselves at home,” the purple man said as he disappeared inside the bedroom.
They heard talking before the rancher was promptly shooed out of the bedroom, and the door closed behind him. The silence that followed was oppressive, each of them lost in their own thoughts, their hearts heavy with worry. They were all left alone in what seemed to be the Vet’s house. Link opened his mouth to say something before being interrupted by a yell of pain coming from the bedroom. They all turned toward the door, listening to the strange man speaking softly to their friend.
“I’m sorry, Link. I’m really sorry. I’ll be quick, I promise. Please stay with me; I know you’re in pain, but please stay conscious. I need you to answer my questions; continue to talk to me, Mister Hero; it’s important…”
Link’s heart twisted at the sound of their friend’s pain. They listened to the man’s voice and their injured friend for what seemed like hours before the door finally opened. The man’s hood was nowhere to be found; he looked drained, exhausted, dark hair covered in sweat as he walked toward the kitchen. His sleeves were rolled up to his forearms, and his hands were covered in blood. He glanced at them, and in that moment, Link saw the fear and exhaustion mirrored in his own eyes.
“He will be okay; I’ve seen him in worse places.” He looked like he was about to say something else, but instead, he leaned against the kitchen wall until he found himself sitting on the floor. He buried his head in his bloody hands and began to sob.
“I’m sorry; please give me just a minute, and I’ll be with you shortly. I just need to calm down; I’m sorry.”
“Are you okay?” the sailor asked, fidgeting with his fingers. Concern etched across his face, a reflection of their shared worry.
“Yes, yes, I am! It’s always scary to see Mister Hero like this. I know the hard part is on his side, and I try to stay strong, but I’m not a hero of courage, so… I’m just going to sit here for a minute; please don’t mind me, heroes.”
“How about you let yourself rest a little?” Link suggested, his voice softening. “We can take care of him so you can sleep. Don’t worry; if he calls for you or if anything changes in his state, we’ll wake you up immediately.” His offer came from a deep desire to ease the burden on the men, to let him know he wasn’t alone in this fight. The small man looked at Link with his puffy green eyes before nodding and sitting down on the couch, the little bird settling in his dark curls.
“My name is Ravio, by the way. It’s a pleasure to finally meet Mister Hero new friends.” As soon as he finished talking, he fell asleep.
It took some time for them to settle on what to do next since none of them knew anything about the place. An air of uncertainty loomed over them, but they needed to act. They ended up preparing a quick meal and getting ready for the night. Sailor and the captain were assigned to keep an eye on the Vet, while the others cleaned their clothes and swords. The cottage was peaceful and calming, a stark contrast to the turmoil in their hearts. Even in their stressful situation, it felt like a momentary reprieve. Without really thinking about it, Link ended up falling asleep at Ravio’s side.
He was awakened a few hours later by a loud thud. He opened his eyes to see Sailor racing from the bedroom at full speed. “He’s awake! He wants to see the weird guy. Do I need to wake him up?” He didn’t even need to, as Ravio was already on his feet and walking toward the bedroom. Link’s curiosity mixed with apprehension as he followed, wanting to be there for his friend.
The bedroom could have been spacious if it weren’t for the mountains of objects crammed inside. Link now understood where their collector had put his belongings.
Ravio quietly approached the bed and sat in the chair that Sailor had been using. The Vet and him exchanged silent glances for what felt like a long time. Link could sense the weight of their unspoken connection filling the room. There was a tenderness in their eyes that spoke volumes—an understanding forged through time and shared pain.
“Are you okay? Does it hurt anywhere? Are you having trouble breathing? Are you hungry, thirsty, tired?” Ravio asked, his voice laced with genuine concern.
“Calm down, Rav. I’m fine; see? No problem,” the Vet replied, though Link could see the way his facade of strength was wavering, how pale and trembling he was. It was for all of them hard to accept help and the Vet was the worst of them all, yet with Ravio, there seemed to be a different dynamic. Ravio’s presence seems to allow the Vet to lower his defenses, if only slightly.
“My hands are still covered with your blood, Link. You are not okay; stop lying to my face,” Ravio insisted.
“Okay, okay, I’m not okay.” The Vet’s usual bravado faded, and Link could see the pain etched across his features. “I’m in pain, a lot of pain, and until two minutes ago, I was sure I was dead, but I’ll be okay, I promise.” When the Vet tried to sit up, Ravio rushed to help him, his touch firm yet gentle.
“Back off, big man! I’m not a child; I can sit without help!” the Vet protested, but Link sensed the underlying warmth in his tone.
“I know you can, Link, but please let me help. It’s the only thing I can do to make myself feel useful,” Ravio said, a note of earnestness in his voice. Watching their exchange, Link felt a swell of admiration for Ravio’s way using his own need to make the hero accept help. This men was more than impressive. Was Zelda the same with him when he was injured ?
Ravio helped him sit up, arranging pillows behind him and ensuring he was comfortable before handing him a glass of water. There was a quiet intimacy in the way Ravio attended to the Vet, and Link couldn't help but appreciate these small gestures.
“Thank you, Rav. I don’t know what I would do without you,” the Vet said, attempting a smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes.
“Probably exactly what you’re doing now love.” He pushed the veteran’s blond hair out of his face with the back on his still bloody hand. “You don’t need me, Mister Hero, and that’s the worst part,” Ravio replied, the hint of sadness in his voice striking Link. It was clear that Ravio yearned to be more than just a support. Just like himself he didn’t want to arrive too late
“Well, I need to clean my hands now. Try to drink your water, please.” Ravio leaned in, resting his forehead against Link’s and kissing his cheek—a gesture that caught Link off guard. It was both tender and protective, a moment of tenderness far away from what the Vet was known for.
As Ravio stepped back toward the main room, Link observed the Vet’s expression soften, a mix of gratitude and affection flooding his features. Turning slightly toward the others, the Vet’s tone shifted to one of authority.
“I don’t want to hear a thing from you all; am I being clear?”
In that moment, Link felt a sense of admiration for both of them. The Vet carried the weight of being a hero, but Ravio was the one who would stand by him through the chaos. Link promised himself to thank Zelda and Groose more next time that he will see them.
———————————
You don’t need to be on the front line to be a hero. Ravio is Legend hero.
For the all time i was writing a was like AND WHAT IF HE DID DIE??? And now i want to write things about grief. I have an idea with Warrior something like what if in the war of era Tune or Mask died ? How would Warrior react to seen them again? What if time died and the chain had to tell Malon? What if Wind died and Grandma had to tell Aryll that his brother wasn’t coming back ? What if Marin knew that she would die but decided to say nothing so Legend could go home ?
More generally I want to talk about the one that stay home while the Links are away putting themself in danger because i enjoy being miserable. I also have some old fluff things that i want to rework and post here.
Someone could have told me that it was so fun to show the things that i write i would have done it earlier
ANYWAY as always English is not my first language tell me is a made error and also just tell me what you think i had a few comment on my last post and is was SO fun to read
Lastly if you have ideas of things that i could write tell me maybe it will give le ideas.
