for those of you keeping up with the sam reich!master/game master cinematic universe currently being masterminded by the delightful @northernfireart and my good self: oh BOY there's a part 3 coming, and she's a doozy, currently clocking in at 9600+ words with a decent chunk still to go. the end is in sight, though, and while i might split the final post into two or maybe three parts, depending on how i'm feeling, hopefully i'll be able to get the first of those parts out on sunday/monday (time zones...) to fill the hole left by the game changer episode that should be released at that time...
however! delayed gratification is for chumps! so to whet your collective appetite, i've put together a "trailer" of scene fragments >:3 feel free to read on its own, or while listening to this particular track for added ambience!
trailer starts under the cut for those who want to launch into part 3 when it comes out without spoilers :)
The Doctor ran his hands over the TARDIS console, marvelling at her clean lines and metallic flourishes, the way that even now she felt brand new but familiar, and paused. He’d just pop off for a quick adventure, nothing too dangerous, but—where to go?
He could scan for a distress call nearby, and pitch in to help. He could drop in on Donna and Shaun and Rose, beautiful Rose, and see how they were all doing. Or he could just hit the randomiser button, and jump in feet first wherever he ended up.
\\\
This was a game show. And with the Toymaker banished, and Satellite Five not coming into existence for another 198000 years, give or take, the Doctor found himself smiling. Maybe third time would be the charm.
///
“Get ready for a Game Changer!” came the host’s voice from onstage. “Tonight’s guests: he can shoot off a monologue with laser accuracy; it’s Brennan Lee Mulligan!”
Brennan, his back to the camera as the curtains opened, spun on his heel and, with a stone-cold expression, pointed finger guns straight down the barrel, before letting the facade crack open. “Hi!” he exclaimed, and walked over to the leftmost podium.
“It’s his first appearance, but he’s already on fire; it’s the Doctor!”
The Doctor leant against the archway to the stage and flashed a broad smile towards the camera, then in a few skipping steps, had bounded over to the next free podium.
“And even in the toughest of mazes, you’ll always be able to find him; it’s Grant O’Brien!”
Grant dipped his lanky frame into an approximation of a curtsey, spreading his arms wide, then sauntered over to the closest podium with a grin.
“And your host, me!” Sam Reich announced, a ring of manic white showing around his irises as he beamed down the barrel of the camera. “I’ve been here the whole time!”
\\\
—and then came the crash, the explosive noise of heavy machinery moving relentlessly through a drywall set.
The Doctor was already moving. “Everyone down!”
“Duck!” Brennan yelled at the same time.
The two of them hit the ground within milliseconds of each other, but Grant was still paralysed in the face of the giant, science-fiction type laser cannon that had just ploughed through the wall.
///
“I’m going to hate this so much,” Brennan muttered.
“So’s he,” Grant smirked, then raised his voice. “Oh, Daddy,” he started in a breathy singsong. “Daddy, do you want to make us play for you, huh? Do you want to degrade us, Daddy? Hurt us?”
\\\
“You’ll never get to them all in time,” came the voice through the speaker, dangerously soft. “You can try, of course, but if you die up here, well. That just leaves your new human friends alone with me while you regenerate, and goodness knows what I can do in that time.”
“You don’t get to do that,” the Doctor growled, even as another detonator deactivated. “You don’t get to hurt them because of me.”
For a moment, only laughter echoed into the room. “Better make your decision now, Doctor. Two detonators down, eleven to go, and they’ll reach spark point in ten… nine…”
///
“But you won't, don't you see? Nobody can win a rigged game—the best you can do is run it through to the end. You're standing at that podium, and we're over here, and that's why you can't win. Because no matter how many points you take away from me, you never had points at all. You want to beat me? Then play.”
\\\
“Run?” Brennan suggested.
“Run!”
///
“And lastly, Doctor.” Sam’s smile broadened. “Sam says: say my name.”
“You can’t be,” the Doctor breathed.
Sam smirked, leaning in across his podium. “Oh, but Doctor… I’ve been here the whole time,” he stage-whispered with a wink.
“He said you lost,” the Doctor said, shaking his head, looking wrong-footed for the first time that Brennan and Grant could recall. “You lost, and he trapped you.”
Sam just smiled, drumming his fingers against the podium with an audible beat, fast but distinct. Four taps, four taps, four taps. “I’m waiting.”
The Doctor took a slow, deep breath. Set his jaw.
“Master.”

You’d make such a pretty Targaryen I agree!! But on the subject would you ever write for them? Or maybe do some sort of au with dabi?
anonnnnnnn stop it i’m blushing so bad!!! (*/ω\*) thank you ehehehe waaaah
oooh good question!! i wouldn’t write for them, but the idea of an AU with dabi inspired by the targaryens is definitely an intriguing idea for sure!!! i’m not sure i could do it justice though, i’ve only ever written a tiny smidge of fantasy in my life and i have nooo ideas for any sort of story beyond some sort of royal incest LMAO (which i am technically already writing, kind of, for genshin! not targaryen inspired tho ehehe)
additionally, i know @blckbrdlove has several targaryen inspired pieces in the works (one of them being with naoya that’s more daenyra dynamic inspired and another being an ARRANGED MARRIAGE AU with dabi + natsuo!!!!!! which includes sharing reader & more fantasy/historical elements), so i highly highly highly recommend keeping an eye on her blog!!! <333

Once again, I will NEVER understand how Cassie haters and/or TMI haters think that she in any way glorifies incest.
Having just read THAT CoLS scene with a batshit crazy, violent, angry Sebastian raving about pure family bloodlines and quoting random ass biblical passages in the most feral possible manner, I cannot CONCEPTIALIZE the "lol cc likes incest" argument. Like, the POINT of that entire scene was to condemn Sebastian's freakish incestuous need for Clary. Not to mention how the Clace incest plotline, while strange, was basically an explicit portrait of child abuse in one of its worst forms.
I also want to say that writing-wise, THAT CoLS scene is possible among the best-written parts of TMI. It invokes an absolutely visceral reaction, and people's horrified feelings are exactly as the author intended.
Sometimes authors just need to write something fucked up. They're not condoning it.
This is why the Sebastian/SQ story is going to be SO awesome, btw. Cassie knows how to handle really fucked up shit and write it really compellingly.

Im rereading COFA and everytime that I read sizzy or clace I CANNOT stop thinking about their 20 something versions and how I can only imagine Izzy being a girl mom and also Jace being a girl dad, like IT FEELS SO RIGHT bc Izzy is the og it girl and would raise a beautiful powerful and secure girl, she would take her shopping and get their hair and nails done and jace would spoiled the fuck out of his daughter just because she's his daughter and she has the plus of looking exactly like clary. He would be that kind of that dad to let his baby to put makeup and nail polish on him and would buy her aaaaaall kinds of weapons until she finds the one she likes the most
It only feels right this way like the same way Alec was MEANT TO BE a boy dad
IM GONNA CRY JUST THINK ABOUT IT, ABOUT GETTING A GROUP OF SIBLINGS-COUSINS HERONDALE-LIGHTWOOD-LOVELACE😭😭😭 LIKE WE GOT IN TLH

TLKOF CHAPTER 1 SPOILERS
Okay wanted to share my thoughts about the chapter!!! Should be noted; will be lots of spoilers
1. Throughly enjoyed Dru’s point of view!! She is so funny!! Cannot wait to see the progression of her plot throughout the novel :D
2. Honestly kind of disliked how overly fast paced it was. It felt like each page led to something different like automatically. It’s obvious a rough draft and she has more than a year to change it up and add more or less, but to me it definitely felt like a draft. (SHOULD NOTE: I DO NOT SAY THIS WITH MALICIOUS OR ILL INTENT. There is nothing wrong with a draft feeling like a draft!!! )
3. DRU BEING 5’3 😭😭 tall blackthorn headcanon destroyed, dead in a DITCH. Sorry Dru you’ll always be 5’7 to me. Also her randomly sayinf she was 5’3 was funny, it wasn’t bad writing or anything, have to preface that, I just thought it was funny!! Welcome back Clary Fairchild!
4. ASHHHHHHH he was so funny. When he told Dru that he was pretty memorable and she was like “idk u” I know he cried himself to sleep after that.
5. THAIS CRUMBSSS. She sounds so pretty! I’m in love. Also we know that she’s competitive 👀👀 I’m liking this cutie already. Her and Kit can have a freckle off <3
6. Thought the ending of this chapter kind of… random? Idk. Again I think that ties into the fact that I thought this chapter went toooo fast. But I also think it’s smart to end the teaser chapter with a kind of cliffhanger!
7. I also kind of liked how the shadowhunter academy ‘gang’ in this book had a same feeling as the TFTSA gang kind of did. It’s obvious a stretchy comparison to make because we haven’t seen much on this academy, but I really did enjoy that. It really does feel like a school!!! If this makes any sense hahaha
Anyways, I was a bit worried about this chapter and i obviously have some criticism (as I always do) but so far I enjoyed it!! I was a bit worried but it seems like fun, I really enjoyed the fact the first chapter included intriguing plot points that make you want to continue reading the novel. I think a lot of this stuff sets up really good stuff for TLKOF sooo I’m excited to see it all expanded !!!

Katniss feeling insecure one random afternoon after seeing Peeta interact with some pretty girlies and asking him later that night all quiet if he thinks she’s pretty 🥺
I meant for this to be funny and then it turned out... not funny. Oh well. Enjoy some post-Mockingjay not fluff but not really angst??? No warning tags on this one.
“Having an eye for beauty isn’t the same thing as a weakness,” Peeta points out. “Except possibly when it comes to you.” - Catching Fire, Chapter 15 “You’re not very big, are you? Or particularly pretty?” - Mockingjay, Chapter 16
It takes me longer than usual to finish trading with the new butcher. She’s originally from Ten and came here after marrying a soldier from Thirteen. She refused to live underground any longer and he tried living in Ten, but felt too exposed and jumpy in the flat plains of that district. Twelve was their compromise. But I haven’t had the chance to build the kind of rapport with her that I had with Rooba.
Rooba. I make a mental note to ask Peeta to draw her for the memory book tonight. We’ll both have memories of her that need to be recorded.
When I finish with the butcher, mostly satisfied with the cuts of deer meat and the coin I walk away with, I make my way over to the bakery. Usually I’d help Peeta close for the day. I got lucky catching the deer so close to the fence, but it still took time for me to bring back enough help to drag it to the butcher.
Surprisingly, there are still a handful of customers in the bakery. Unusual, this late in the day. I hasten my steps, thinking Peeta might want some help getting rid of the chatty customers, and seeing me after a hunt usually does the trick.
As I reach the window, though, I slow my pace. It’s not just any customers. It’s the Lassiter girls. They moved here after the war with their father, who used to be the head foreman at a perfume factory in District One. Apparently someone thought his skills would translate well to running a medicine factory, because that’s what his job here is. And his five daughters -- Neroli, Dior, Ambrette, Clary, and Opal -- aged twenty-four to sixteen, spaced two years apart down the line, are each just as beautiful as the last. Gossip holds that they each have a different mother, and while there’s been no confirmation from their father on that point, they’re each so strikingly different in looks and coloring that it wouldn’t surprise me.
They’re currently clustered near the counter, a bouquet of undoubtedly sweet smelling flowers. Their dresses a rainbow of eye-catching hues in expensive looking fabrics. All I can do is snort as I think of how dull and dingy their clothes would’ve been if they’d lived here when there was still a coal mine. But their hair, although different shades, all gleams in glossy waves and curls and curtains of shimmering silk in the bright lights of the bakery.
I hear Peeta’s laughter then, followed shortly by the twittering chorus of the Lassiter girls’ giggling. Ugh. They cannot be serious. Not my Peeta.
None of them are married yet, and there’ve already been several District Twelve men turned away from their front door step with dazed looks in their eyes, like they couldn’t believe they’d actually dared to propose to one of the Lassiter girls. And while this group ambush of my Peeta gives me an idea of what sort of partner they might be looking for, it’s unacceptable.
I push through the bakery door and attempt a smile. Neroli sees me first. The oldest, and by far the smartest of this bunch, our eyes meet and her lips curl in a smile. She’s dressed in a dark, forest green dress. Her dark, almost black hair swept to one side, into a long, sleek ponytail. There’s no denying that she’s stunning. Long, sooty black lashes frame her pale eyes that I’ve never been able to decide if they’re blue or gray. Some part of me knows that if I were somehow more beautiful, I might look like her.
Neroli glances at Peeta, then back at me. She inclines her head slightly towards me, and I’m not certain what she means until she speaks.
“Father will be wondering what’s keeping us,” she announces to her sisters. “Come on. Get your purchases and let’s leave these two turtle doves alone.”
She still pauses to say something to Peeta before she and her sisters clear out, but the glance she throws my way before shutting the door behind her makes me think that maybe Neroli and I might’ve been friends under different circumstances. When I finally manage to look at Peeta, he’s head down in the cases, cleaning them out.
“Lock the door for me? How was your day in the woods?”
“Not bad,” I tell him as I throw the bolt. “I got a deer.”
“That’s great!”
“Put this in the cold storage while I sweep?” I hand him the package from the butchers and he hands me a broom across the counter. It’s one of my usual chores and it isn’t long after that we’re headed home. But all through dinner, I can’t get the image of the flock of Lassiter girls twittering around him out of my head.
I distract myself after we clean up the kitchen with the memory book, telling Peeta about the deer today and how things went with the new butcher. We share a few memories of Rooba while he sketches her and I write them down in draft. We manage to finish her page and seal it into the book before it’s very late.
And while Peeta showers with me, and stands next to me while we brush our teeth and get ready for bed, he somehow feels distant. As I lay down and watch him as he carefully removes his prosthetic, I can’t help but think again about the Lassiter girls.
“Goodnight, my love,” he murmurs as he turns to me, slipping his legs under the covers and cupping my cheek in his palm before kissing my lips once, softly.
“Goodnight,” I respond and blink when he turns out the light and lays down.
But I can’t get comfortable. And behind my closed eyes, I see a still ravaged Peeta, the hijacking reversal barely even begun. His knuckles pale as he gripped the bedsheets beneath him and restraints holding him down, safely away from me.
“You’re not very big, are you? Or particularly pretty.”
I huff out a heavy breath and jam the heels of my palms into my closed eyes, trying to push the image out of my brain. He’s laying right here beside me. He kissed me and called me his love just minutes ago. What Peeta and I have puts the stars in the sky and the poets’ words on the page to shame with its depth and significance. That’s far better than some superficial beauty.
And yet the words still slip past my lips.
“Peeta,” I whisper, and he hums in response so that I’m not sure if he’s fully awake or not. “Do you think I’m pretty?”
There’s a few seconds of silence and then I hear the sound of the sheets rustling as Peeta turns over to face me.
“Are you serious?”
“It’s just a question,” I say and smack my hands down onto the bed, right at my sides. They’re still clenched into fists and I try to hold back the sudden, ridiculous tears welling up in my eyes. Because his hesitancy to answer tells me what I need to know. How stupid of me to ask.
“Katniss, honey,” he breathes and moves through the dark, pulling me into his arms. “You will always be as radiant as the sun to me,” he tells me and I snort, wishing I’d never told him that phrase or how I’d once used it. “No, I’m serious. Katniss, you take my breath away.”
“But I’m still not particularly pretty. At least not as pretty as Neroli Lassiter, am I?” I poke and I can feel his frame stiffening besides me.
“No. Oh no, no, you can’t believe what I said that day, Katniss.”
“But you were right. I’m not very big.”
“And we both looked like shit that day because we’d been through too much shit. That doesn’t mean I meant it, Katniss. You have to know I was… I was trying to hurt you that day. Hurt you the way I thought you’d hurt me. Because I thought you’d used me, chosen Gale and the rebels, and left me to die or worse in that arena.”
“I know,” I say and finally manage to turn over into his embrace, burying my face in his chest as he caresses my back and whispers a hundred apologies for his careless words. I inhale his scent and let his hands soothe me.
So when he slips his fingers beneath my chin, I let him lift my face to his. I close my eyes and savor the brush of his lips against mine.
“You once told me that I had a weakness for beautiful things,” he whispers. “Real or not real?”
“Real,” I answer without pause. I can smell the horses and feel the warmth of Cinna’s glowing ember costume. I can see Peeta in front of me, radiant and beautiful, and smiling in amusement at my assessment of him. “But you don’t have a weakness for beauty. Only an eye for it,” I remind him.
“So yes, Neroli Lassiter is a beautiful woman--”
“And her sisters?” I prod and I can feel Peeta smiling against my lips as he kisses me once.
“And her sisters are, too. But you’re the only beautiful person I have a weakness for. No one else has left a lasting impression the way you have.”
I can’t help but smile stupidly at the repetition of his words from the cave. The reminder that somewhere amongst the acting for the cameras, we always had at least a sliver, a taste, a fraction of or at least the roots of something real.
“I’m still a goner for you, Katniss Everdeen, real or not real?” he whispers, and I already know the answer. I know what he wants me to say, because it’s true.
“Real.”

Hi!
Alec breaking out "becoming the Consul" news to Magnus and Magnus's reaction to it. Also, some flirting and fluff surrounding it.
The first official task Alec fulfils as the new Consul of the Clave- In Exile is to ensure that everyone finds a place to sleep for the night.
Their world is currently burning, and tomorrow, and the day after, and the day after that is going to be another crisis in itself.
But for now, they all need to rest.
Some of them shift into the New York Institute temporarily. Some shadowhunters have families across the world so they go there. Clary opens up a few portals for the ones remaining to move to other institutes.
So many of them are still left adrift and Clary alone cannot open this many portals. Alec sees the worry and exhaustion on her face and decides that this is it. They would need a few warlocks to get this process done.
But they don’t have anyone right now. What happened in Alicante, is still between the shadowhunters. The rest of the shadow world does not know yet.
Alec has decided that tomorrow morning, they will announce it to the world. And then the rest of the Downworld can decide which Clave they want to be a part of.
He knows, with a guarantee that would stand with him. The downworlders have decided not to be part of the council meeting because of the registry.
It’s not a question of who they will choose. But albeit, everything needs to be official.
As they wind down, even amidst the chaos, Alec had requested his siblings and friends to not inform Magnus about it.
Alec wants to be the one to tell him. He’s dying to witness the look on his face.
Izzy had whined because she already had a party planned at his loft. But she’d understood.
From tomorrow onwards, Alexander Gideon Lightwood will belong to the world.
Tonight, he just wants to be Magnus’s.
“Clary, you okay?” He asks her softly.
She smiles at him. “I am, boss man.”
He blushes, “Shut up.”
Clary peers at him and he sighs because he knows that she knows that he wants to ask something from her.
“What do you want?”
“A portal.”
“To the loft?”
He shakes his head. “No. Paris.”
Clary raises an eyebrow, “Why?”
“Can’t tell you.”
Her face changes, and a grin appears on it. In moments like this, he loves her like anything. She reminds him of his siblings. Of people he’d sworn to protect.
And people who annoy him more than anything.
“If you want a portal, you need to spill.”
“I hate you.”
“I’ll live,” she grins.
“Fine,” he accepts defeat because he needs that portal right now. He shifts closer to her and tells her everything. He’d assumed she would act cocky, but a gentle and soft smile appears on her face.
“You two deserve this,” she breathes and opens up a portal for him.
“Thank you,” he kisses her head and enters through the portal.
“Alec!!” She says loudly as he’s about to leave.
“Yeah?”
“Get that dick.”
Alec rolls his eyes and turns back.
He’s at Parc des Buttes-Chaumont, a small park situated in North-Eastern Paris.
They came here for an evening stroll last year. There’s no specific reason Alec chose this place. Just that it was in Paris.
There’s a whoosh behind him and he turns, and Magnus enters through a portal.
“Alexander?”
As easy as breathing, not even voluntarily, his face breaks into a smile as his eyes land on the man.
“Hi, baby.”
Magnus closes the distance and stands infront of him.
“Everything okay?” He asks. “Why did you call me here? Not that I mind a late-night picnic here. But how did the meeting go? You told me you will tell me all about it when you come home.”
Before he tells Magnus all of it, he needs something else. Alec throws his arms around Magnus’s neck and breathes him in.
The image of Cohort children with swords in their hands still haunt him. It’s been a terrible, terrible day and Alec needs to just feel Magnus for a few minutes.
“Sweetheart?” Magnus speaks softly against his neck but he wraps his arms around his back and pulls him closer.
Alec relaxes against his body and revels in the comfort.
The world might be going to shit but Alec’s world stands as perfect as always.
They pull back a few moments later and Magnus cups his cheeks. “Hi, my love.”
He smiles back. “Hey.”
“Is everything alright?” Magnus asks, raising his hand and brushing Alec’s hair with gentle fingers. “I can’t imagine everything went well today.”
“It didn’t.”
“How did it go?”
“You want the long version or the short version?”
Magnus replies sufferingly, “I cannot pretend to care about Clave politics so the short version.”
Alec chuckles softly, “The Clave broke-up.”
Magnus raises an eyebrow, “Broke up?”
“Yep.”
“Like the Backstreet Boys?”
He chuckles before nodding. “Sort of?”
“Explain.”
“You said you wanted the short version,” Alec replies, entwining his fingers with Magnus as they start walking next to each other.
“About boring political stuff. Not the clave breaking up,” Magnus yelps.
He briefs Magnus about what the Cohort, led by Zara Dearborn did.
“That’s awful,” Magnus’s voice sobers up and be clenches Alec’s hand in support.
“Hmmmm.”
“So half of the Clave is in-exile here. And the other half is there.”
“Yeah.”
“And there are two Consuls. And two governments ruling the shadowhunter now.”
He nods his head.
Magnus sighs dramatically, “So, twice the drama? The world has to deal with two Consuls now?”
A huge grin appears on his face, then. “Well, you would only have to deal with one. The exiled one.”
“Bold of you to assume I wouldn’t want to side with the Clave in Idris,” Magnus challenges.
Alec raises an eyebrow.
“Okay, fine. I would bleach my hair blonde before doing that.”
Alec pictures Magnus as a blonde and he wants to tell him that Magnus could pull off even that.
“So, tell me. Which new oppressive tyrant am I going to be dealing with for the next few years.”
“Oppressive tyrant?” Alec says with a mischievous smile on his face.
“Well, Jiya was fine and it was not unbearable to work with her. But you never know with shadowhunter,” Magnus says. He turns towards Alec and then adds, “Present company excluded.”
“It’s someone you know.”
“I know a lot of people,” Magnus says offhandedly.
“Someone you know very intimately,” he teases.
Magnus pauses. “Why does this feel like a trick question?”
It’s a new moon night so there’s absolute darkness everywhere. But standing next to Magnus, there’s always so much light.
Magnus twirls him around easily and Alec’s body moves into a circle as he giggles.
He can’t contain his happiness.
“It might be a trick question.”
“I knew it.”
“So, who is it?”
Before Alec tells him, he wants to tell him something else.
“You know it was here, in Paris, when I realised that we need to change the Clave.”
Magnus furrows his brows.
Alec shakes his head and fond memories flood his brain. “I was with Helen and Aline. During your whole cult fiasco.”
“Not my cult.”
“Sure.”
“Mean.”
“Anyways,” Alec breathes. “I realised then that the Clave needed to be changed from within. And then we couldn’t wait for someone else. It was us who was going to fix it.”
Magnus brings his arms around his waist and kisses his mouth softly. “And you are doing that. With the Alliance. And everything you do. And I am incredibly proud of you.”
A huge blush appears on his face. He cups Magnus’s cheek and sighs, “So much of it was because of you.”
“You could have done all of that without me,” Magnus assures.
The thing is that; maybe Alec would have. Maybe he would have been the man he was even without Magnus.
He’s just glad he doesn’t have to.
“I did it for everyone,” he exhales. “But especially for you.”
Magnus narrows his eyes at him. “What’s got you in this mood?”
Alec smiles. “I know your history with the clave and the consuls has not been easy. I just hope you have a good one with the new consul.”
“Can’t promise. Which brings me to my question again?,” Magnus asks. “Who is this new guy?”
He pulls back a little and lets out his hand. “Magnus Bane, High Warlock of Brooklyn, I wanted to introduce myself.”
A confused smile appears on Magnus’s face, knowing Alec is gearing up for theatrics.
“Please do, shadowhunter,” Magnus smirks. “Who are you and how do you know me?”
“Everyone knows you,” Alec replies before a confident smile appears on his face. “I’m Alexander Gideon Lightwood, new Consul of the Clave in-exile.”
Magnus pauses as the confusion on his face grows before it breaks into a huge wonder.
“Are you—“
“Yes,” he nods his head frantically.
“You’re the Consul.”
“I am,” he giggles.
“Alexander Gideon Lightwood,” Magnus shrieks as he pulls Alec’s body against his. “You brat.”
He throws his head back in laughter as Magnus kisses his face. Over and over and over again.
“I am so proud of you,” Magnus breathes a few minutes later, when they’re done dancing and kissing. “There is no else better suited for this.”
“I love you.”
Alec already has plans for a hundred new laws. He’s not naive enough to believe that all of them will see the light of the day. But there is one, that Alec would lay down his entire life for.
He’ll tell Magnus about it tomorrow.
“I love you, too,” Magnus kisses him but they’re both smiling so hard that it’s a little difficult to be able to kiss.
“I can’t wait to tell the kids.”
“They will be so happy.”
“They don’t even understand what it means,” Alec chuckles.
“And yet, they will be happy.”
“I am happy.”
“You are?” Magnus raises an eyebrow, still smiling, still wrapped up around Alec.
“Very much so.”
“I like you happy,” his boyfriend, and if he’s able to do what he wants to do tomorrow, his future husband replies and Alec closes the distance between the two.
Alexander Gideon Lightwood, Consul of the Clave sounds nice.
But Alexander Gideon Lightwood-Bane sounds better.

making a complete list of my thoughts of the show vs books since I finished it and will probably leave some stuff out since I’m super forgetful, sorry 💀
1. once again love that they upped the ages. glad we didn’t have centuries year old Magnus chasing teenager Alec or all the other inappropriate relationships in the books
2. Malec is fucking perfect on the show and it really showed that if any actually cares about them, they can make the characters much better and give the characters a better shot than the author ever did. I seriously love all the details Matt, Harry, and whoever wrote their episodes did. only one I cannot stand is when Alec doesn’t realize right away that Magnus and valentine switched bodies. but alec handled the immortality thing wayyyyyy better than book Alec ever could. book Alec (and pretty much TMI content and etc) barely exists let’s be real
3. Izzy and Simon are way too rushed in the series but at least they have more do a friendship and there’s no cheating storyline. but I kinda like Maia and Simon together. I feel that Maia understood Simon.
adding: I don’t mind Simon and clary in the show dating and the way they end things is not as harsh as it is in the books. maybe clary (I’m being kind lmao) actually cares about Simon in the show but still kinda uses him at times
4. might be the only thing I’ll say about the books that’s nice but it would’ve been cute to see the vacation storyline (eldest curses) in the show. would’ve been cute to see a Malec holiday and moving towards them having children 🥹
5. Maia doesn’t get enough credit. she’s one of the few sensible people on the show and gets more attention than book Maia ever did
6. speaking of Maia, I’m glad they didn’t go too extreme with the Jordan plot. in the books, I think she was made to feel to get over how Jordan treated her. but man, why does the actor have to be attractive 😭
7. I really like Maryse and Luke together. they fit each other quite well. Maryse has some of the best development in the show and I loved seeing her grow
8. glad Jocelyn was killed off. she was more insufferable in the books so glad the show decided they didn’t need that energy
9. Jace and clary are both clearly insufferable but it’s worse in the books. I feel like in the show they’re still pretty bad but it’s a little tamed
10. Alec deserved better than jace. dude had the audacity to act as though Alec is a fling, expected Alec at his beck and call to do whatever he wanted while not understanding or caring about Alec’s feelings and his needs, practically invites himself at Magnus’s place while being the worst roommate, and then taking for granted all the people who sacrificed (MAGNUS AND HIS MAGIC LITERALLY THIS LOVELY MAN LOSES HIS MAGIC AND HIS HOME AND HIS MIND) once again to help his worthless ass
11. wish they wouldn’t have killed ragnor off. we got to see a lot of vampires and wolves but not a lot of warlocks. would’ve been great to see more of Magnus’s friends. you could seriously make a whole show based off on Magnus and his life
12. kinda wish they kept camille around. I know she was drama for malec in the beginning but she’s still a very fascinating character
13. I’m 100% thankful for the show not following the books and creating their own world
14. I would’ve loved to see more of the alternate universe episodes. one of the best episodes
15. ALL THE MALEC PARALLELS. these two beautiful and desperately, devoted, in love with one another men are seriously the best part of the show 😭 the fact that there are no cheating stories (when Alec is all drunk, underhill is flirting and all Alec can talk about is Magnus. Magnus defies bisexual stereotypes when dot tries to kiss him.), no taking away immortality or throwing fits or bierasure, or any toxic storylines is one of my fav things about Malec. they’re just two beings who are so in love with one another, who communicate, and are just completely devoted to each other. and it’s one of the reasons why everyone was so hooked on Malec. they’re healthy but you’re also excitedly rooting for them 🫶🏼
16. Clary deserved to lose her ability with runes. the angels message was to not use her rune ability for whatever she pleased but she took advantage of it. but I will say, some helped but I feel that the rest she just used because she didnt care
17. season three breakup wrecked me and I’ll not emotionally recover from that. it breaks my heart seeing Alec break his own heart and Magnus’s all so Magnus can have his magic and be whole again. I’m so glad they got married in the end 💓
18. I’m glad the twinning rune went to clary instead of jace because how many times does this worthless fucker need saved????? SERIOUSLY HOW MANY
19. I think Magnus recognizing what Alec needs at the beginning when they meet is beautiful. I don’t think it’s creepy (as some book fans state.) and it shows that Magnus understands that Alec is not ready to be out. I’m glad Magnus doesn’t get shitty with Alec on not being out like he does in the books
20. also book vs show thing. I actually like the whole marrying Lydia plot. I get the whole grand gesture of kissing in wherever they were- sanctuary???? (y’all cannot pay me enough to read TMI again, I will not go through that torture again) but I really hate that it’s not even in Alec or Magnus’s pov. CC makes a point of giving characters she chooses to have unnecessary pov
21. I probably forgot something but I mainly skipped all the clace content that didn’t involve Alec or Magnus but otherwise, messy show but so amazing for the Malec content. Izzy, Maia, Raphael, and Simon are a bonus as well. I’m just saying that the show could’ve been a whole lot worse lmao

Also the whole turning babies into demons thing was so fucked like wdym Lilith had a whole room of dead babies…girlie was on something methinks. Mind you I’ve read much worse *COUGH* Tender Is The Flesh *COUGH* but still…anything involving torturing infants always gets me. ANYWAYS. I love Jace bro PLEASE CASSANDRA MAKE IT STOP! LET MY LOVE LIVE! LET MY BLONDE SARCASTIC BLORBO LIVE! Ugh. Also this book took me wayyyy longer to read, so I’ll be reading something else in between this one and City of Lost Souls. Maybe Bloodguard by Cecy Robson…I need something terribly written as a palate cleanser.

Note
something ive noticed while reading the mortal instruments is an annoying trope that happens lots in ya fantasy: the "strong female protagonist" (clary) who's never more powerful than her boyfriend (jace). its just so annoyingggg
Clare does it covertly (or “covertly”). On paper, Clary’s powers and abilities are greater than Jace’s. Jace is physically and physiologically superior Shadowhunter, but Clary can utilize somewhat powerful magic in ways others cannot. Yet narrative-wise Jace is the best, the most graceful, the most amazing thing ever to happen to the Nephilim, while Clary talks down on herself, compares herself constantly to Jace and how clumsy she is in comparison (not mentioning the fact that Jace has trained his whole life while she has just begun, at least in terms of books 1-3). How Jace’s hair looks better and she is disheveled while taking a tumble down a hill et cetera. Nobody hypes up Clary like the writing has everyone hyping up Jace, friends and foes alike.
Emma is the best Shadowhunter of her generation—though I feel like they are all the same generation, lol—and has a legendary weapon to up her abilities. Yet Emma’s Jace-level skills don’t really matter in terms of the story and add nothing to anything. She could be completely average and the story doesn’t necessarily change (compare to Jace whose powers help him in battles and escape actual dire situations), because most of what Emma is as a Shadowhunter is tied to her ownership of Cortana. Julian, however, is such a badass schemer, such a wannabe Petyr Baelish, so ruthless and thus so amazing, and it is for him that the story kicks forward on occasion. It’s him that creates Livia’s Watch, he who schemes to keep his family together, he who knows how to play the Clave’s games. I am surprised again why Emma is the protagonist at all.
All of this aligns with the similar theme where the heroine is not really the protagonist rather than the observer of the amazingness of the male protagonist. Which is excruciatingly obvious especially with Clary/Jace and Emma/Julian.
Tessa has a power of shapeshifting, she is Nephilim and warlock—though I still don’t really know can she cast proper spells?—she even harnesses the power of an angel at the end of it all, yet we keep mourning the difficult life of Will Herondale who isn’t even that impressive a Shadowhunter. James does not count because he is a stale bread and as sharp as a marble ball, so having Cordelia up him as a protagonist doesn’t require much. Though, again much of her is tied to the ownership of Cortana because names and objects carry more weight and meaning than the actual character and content in Clare’s writing.
So yes, on paper these girlies are badasses and thus it’s easy for Clare to deflect the criticism on the subject, very similarly as she has done with Jace all these years. She just seems to forget that concepts are all fine and dandy but mean nothing if they don’t matter in terms of the narrative you create. Like, Clary can be as powerful as you make her but when you treat her as lesser, what do her powers then matter.

Salvation lets their wings unfold by HopeSilverheart
Alec is frozen and, when she spots what has him looking so horrified, so is Clary.
Above the fireplace, hanging on the wall like some sort of divine offering, rest a pair of huge, black angel wings, so similar to Alec’s own. The mere sight makes him want to throw up and curl his wings around himself to make sure all his feathers are still in place. He can’t even begin to imagine life without the pair of extra limbs every Nephilim has to deal with. To be faced with the reminder that some people want nothing more than to tear those wings off his back is…
“What the fuck, Alec?” Clary whispers, her voice choked up and angry and alarmed. “Alec, what is this?”
Or: Alec, Clary and Magnus go on a mission to a warlock's home. What they find there leaves its mark on both shadowhunters.

listen, there's a hell of a universe next door by storm_petrel
As it turns out, no one ever taught Luke how to tie a little green baby to his back one-handed, but Luke thinks he's pretty gods-damned good at problem-solving under pressure, thank you, and the baby is at least semi-cooperative. When he's sure the kid is strapped in as tight as he can get, Luke pauses, and reaches back. His fingers graze the wide point of the baby's fuzzy ear. "Well, kid," says Luke, and his voice is a little rough, but not bad, all things considered. "Carrying you on my back while getting the absolute banthashit kicked out of me, at least this feels familiar."
The baby coos in his ear, and then kicks him hard in the kidney. Yoda used to do the exact same thing. Somehow, it's a lot more endearing now.
Or: Luke Skywalker solves a number of life-or-death problems, makes some new friends, falls abruptly in love, and gets shot into space, all in the same day.
Clone Wars
No wealth, no ruin, no silver, no gold by themonopolyhat
"New orders.” Cody hands the data pad over, and Waxer takes a minute to absorb the screen contents.
“Are we—” He stops, his voice hushed with something like awe. “Do we get to hit Dooku's... the kriff do the natties call it...” He snaps his fingers and points at Wooley for some reason. “Vacation home. Are we gonna burn down Dooku's vacation home?"
Or: Six weeks after Obi-Wan's funeral, the 212th reunites with their general.

Pt 1 of why season two of shadowhunters is terrible
So even dividing these by seasons it was way too long for me to post on here while keeping my self respect, so enjoy this essay? about the yin fen plot line because i will die mad about it.
For some background information, in season two episode four of the shadowhunters tv show, there is a demon attack inside the institute. The specific demon of this episode was allegedly created by Valentine to attack the institute through possessing shadowhunters. Did we forget the plot of City of Fallen Angels? Shadowhunters cannot be possessed (with some exceptions but the show came out before tlh anyways). They all have certain protection spells put on them as infants to keep them from being possessed. Apparently not in the show though.
Both Isabelle and Alec get possessed by the demon, with Alec killing Jocelyn and Izzy getting stabbed by Clary since that was all it took to release the demon and kill it. Isabelle’s wound gets infected and it’s not healing but she refuses to go to the infirmary to get it looked at. Victor Aldertree (a made up character who has a combination of Imogen Herondale’s successor’s name and the inquisitor from tid's name who is running the institute for the first half of the season and he’s british and person of color so we know he’s evil), was sending a team to go see the iron sisters to ask why Valentine wanted to steal the mortal sword. Izzy had apparently wanted to be an iron sister when she was a child (she didn’t in the books btw) and goes to his office to volunteer to lead the mission. Aldertree asks to check Isabelle’s wound because he used to be a field medic. He confirms that it was infected and gives yin fen to fix it. He presents her with this silver gel that goes on the spine and applies it for her. Ok, fine. Maybe there have been some modifications to the drug since Jem took it and since it was on the ship bringing Jace to New York. I can get past the form of it. What I can’t get past is that in the next episode we find out that yin fen in the show is made from vampire venom. Not poison from Yanluo, but vampire venom. Saying that it’s made from vampire venom and not poison from a greater demon does so much already to diminish the danger of it. Vampires bite people all the time. If you die because of a vampire, it’s because they drank all of your blood, not because you overdose on their venom. Vampire venom doesn’t cause searing pain and hallucinations like what Jem described from Yanluo.
In the next episode, Izzy sees that Aldertree has run out of yin fen and spends the episode trying to track some down. She meets this one warlock in the Hunter's Moon and asks for it, to which he says, “dancing with the devil, are we?” What the fuck? Why is it so dangerous? There’s no evidence in this show that implies that you can overdose from it or that there are harmful effects on your body other than the withdrawal. Then, to add insult to injury, Magnus swoops in to kick the warlock out of the bar because apparently he’s been banned from North America and mentions how yin fen almost killed Jem. No! You do not get to change everything about a substance other than its name and color and then name drop Jem. This is not what almost killed him. Jem spent five years of his life dying from a drug that was essentially a bastardized medicine and was sapping his life and energy more than it was giving it to him. We see in Clockwork Prince and Clockwork Princess how it affected the werewolves who were being given too much of it by Mortmain. He was making them take it six to seven times a day and as Jem said, “The more you take the faster you die.” In the books, there is no scenario where you become addicted to yin fen where it does not kill you. It’s not a “typical” drug like it is shown to be in the show.
But back to the plot of the show, Isabelle goes to see some vampires to ask for their venom because that’s what yin fen is made of. Raphael swoops in and saves her and she collapses into his arms. After some convincing he bites her, giving her venom. After this, they start a relationship which is just them essentially being addicted to each other - Izzy being addicted to his venom and Raphael being addicted to her blood. I don’t know how we got to shadowhunter blood being addictive for vampires, but apparently it is. The most we know about it in the books is that Simon almost completely drained Jace of blood in City of Ashes, but that could have been because Jace has extra angel blood even for a shadowhunter, the fact that Simon was just practically drained of all of his own blood, or that Simon was so new to being a vampire. Simon also bites Izzy and Alec and is completely fine and unaddicted. Even if you take away the weird addiction plot, Raphael is a canonically aroace character. He’s still asexual in the show, but no longer aromantic. I’m pretty sure the reason they did this was because they drew out the climon plotline to be agonizingly long so they felt that they needed to put Izzy with somebody romantically, but it doesn’t change the fact that it is so terrible that they took away one of the only aroace characters I can think of. After Alec finds out about the yin fen and her relationship with Raphael, they have a fight that ends with her going back to Raphael and him going to the institute. Then Valentine attacks the institute because he needs its angelic power core to be able to activate the mortal sword so that it can emit a heavenly light that will kill any downworlders in its path. Obviously this is a huge change from the demonic conversion ritual he was trying to do in the books, and it doesn’t even make sense. I’ll talk more about this change in another part, but that’s the plot of the mid-season finale. Alec ends up confronting Aldertree about how he gave Isabelle yin fen and they fight circle members on the rooftop when Isabelle comes in and saves them because she had found her phone that Raphael hid because he and other downworlders were going to kill Clary because if she touches the sword while it’s plugged in to the angelic power core it will be able to emit the heavenly light because of her extra “pure” angel blood. Anyways, Isabelle collapses into Alec’s arms after that one burst of energy and we get a shot of Aldertree looking guilty. Then she breaks up with Raphael at the end of the episode.
The next time we see her she’s going through withdrawal. Surprise, it’s not what Jem goes through in Clockwork Princess. She never coughs up blood, she doesn’t lose all the color in her hair, eyes, and skin. She just seems to be going through a “typical” drug withdrawal, although I don’t know enough about that so I can’t really talk much about the accuracy of it. Alec tells everyone that Izzy just has the flu and leaves her alone because there are demon attacks going on. Izzy immediately goes to the Hotel Dumort to ask Raphael to bite her. There’s an awkwardly framed shot of her pulling a seraph blade on him and getting upset when he says no (I guess shadowhunter blood is less addictive than yin fen?) and then she stalks off to the alleyway where they met and sees the greater demon who is the focal point of the episode. Her necklace breaks bc of all his demon energy or something and then another british shadowhunter comes and saves the day. It is no other than Sebastian Verlac! Again, he’s british so we know he’s evil and also purposefully burns himself with a tea kettle later in this episode, but more on that in another post. Sebastian brings Izzy back to his apartment and gives her this extract of a root from L’isle Adam which she just takes. Then she’s fine! There’s a few passing mentions of her talking about it with people and Simon recommends narcotics anonymous meetings for her and she goes to them, but the people there think she’s talking about heroin. The plot comes back to mess with a Sizzy plotline briefly in season three which was not the worst because it led to a cute (i use this term very lightly) Alec and Isabelle scene.
Now for the reason I am writing this, Jem Carstairs and how this is a disgrace to his character. In the literal sense, Jem is a drug addict. He says so himself after he and Will find the dying werewolf in Clockwork Prince and compares his dependence to yin fen to the opium addicts in Shanghai when he tells Tessa about it in Clockwork Angel. He gets so angry at Will for doing drugs in Clockwork Prince that he actually punches him (something that is so out of character for him that Will could barely believe he had done it when Tessa told him the next day) because he was so angry that Will was toying with what had destroyed his life. The important thing to note is that when these comparisons do happen in the books, they come from Jem himself. When other people, such as Gabriel, draw the comparison it’s used to further villainize them, because the books make sure to make it clear that Jem is not a drug addict in the typical sense, such as how Izzy was portrayed in the show. This is because Jem was never meant to represent drug addicts, but instead described in the forward of Clockwork Princess to be “condemned to die young of a fatal demonic illness, no matter how desperate the efforts to save him, just as in reality victims of consumption sickened and died without penicillin.” It’s also made clear throughout the books that Jem despises needing yin fen, he hates that it keeps him from living as full a life as Tessa or Will could. It’s why he ends up in the situation he was in during Clockwork Princess, he took more of the drug to seem healthier for Tessa, even at the cost of dying faster and therefore getting less time with her. Not only does this plotline essentially negate all of those feelings, but it gives Jem the label that everyone in these books try to argue against, that Jem is nothing more than the average drug addict, someone who most of the other shadowhunters view as someone weak and less than them. He can’t just stop taking yin fen like Izzy could in the show, because yin fen is pretty much a death sentence for anyone who becomes addicted to it, not a normal drug, and this is not the story that yin fen was created to tell. They could have literally just changed the name of the drug and not mentioned Jem in ep 7 and I would be still be upset but not this upset abt it.

Review
There is a lot that happens in this book that I want to cover. Again, I have read this one before. I love it, but never did a review on it like I have been doing recently with the books I read. I will say this is the last one I have read fully (even though I do not remember it all. Only read it once through).
Firstly, the whole Jace and Clary being in love with each other but fighting it because they both think they are siblings. While I get that, there is a lot that they don’t know and everything, but it’s a huge cliche. I love it still! I love that Clary knows she is supposed to love Jace the way she loves Simon, and she wants to love Simon the way she loves Jace. I get that. And I think it’s good that she is...I don’t want to say disgusted by the fact she wants to jump Jace’s bones...I mean who wouldn’t. I will say I loved the moment in the Seelie Court when Clary is pretty much forced to deal with her true emotions and then later in Jace’s room when they have the talk heart to heart. I love the deepening of the truth behind Jace and his mind. I LOVE IT!
Tumblr media
I also love the whole Alec and Magnus thing going on...well that is hinted that is going on. Those two are TOTALLY a thing. I love their relationship! I think it also makes Alec a little better of a character now that he is not hating everyone and himself for being clearly GAY!
I love/hate that Simon is a vampire. While I think that it is a good addition to the books, it makes it hard on Clary and Simon’s relationship. I think that if he would have stayed human, their relationship might have lasted longer than it did. Plus, he is still a pushover and seems to be even more pitiful than before.... I don't know how!
Tumblr media
While part of me understands why Jace would join Valetine, I also don’t get it. I understand wanting to be able to protect those who he loves and to also save himself in what will be the end of Shadowhunters as they are if they choose to fight against Valentine and his army of demons. I think that there is a lot that isn’t being told to Jace, I hope it is revealed later.
I think that with the fearless rune and Alec almost telling his parents and pretty much everyone in the room that he is dating Magnus...was PRICELESS! I think that if he did end up telling them that things for him would have been bad, mainly because the clave is a bit homophobic...which in a way I can see because of the fact that they are very low in numbers and changing new shadowhunters is a hard thing to do.
Tumblr media
The fact that Maia and Simon were taken by Valentine was something that I feel is personal to him. He took his daughter’s best friend and a pack member of Luke’s that he had to have known was close to Luke. I also love hat during this time we get to learn that Simon cannot say God’s name or anything to do with his religion, which shows how different he is after the change he goes through. I also like the fact that we get to see more of Maia. I think she could be a good addition to the slow forming friendship between Clary, Simon, Jace, Izzy, and Alec. I also like that we get to see more of what Valentine is planning and learning about Jace and Clary’s “gifts” that they have.
Maryse standing up to Imogen after Valentine said he wouldn’t trade the Mortal Instruments for Jace was PERFECT!!! I loved that she did that. So far Maryse and Robert have been SHITTY people. Like REALLY shitty! Them standing up and going to fight Valentine is a great character change with them is PERFECT!
Tumblr media
Clary destroying Valentine’s ship was AMAZING! I loved how she just did it. I also liked the fact that Simon was allowed to be in the sun after drinking Jace’s blood, I also think that Jace saving Simon was nice. Even though he did it for Clary, not because he likes Simon, it was still nice of him. There is a lot to cover on the relationships that have not happened, happened, and ended that I could go on and on about, but I won't.
Characters
Clary - Main Character (Shadowhunter) - 7/10 I think that Clary is a little to jump into danger but won't fully commit to being a shadowhunter. Like I get it, but she is putting herself in situations that she NEEDS runes for and proper training to be able to survive. I think that her inner drama with loving Jace and wanting to be able to love Simon, while still dealing with all the emotions of the first book still. It's one of those things that I feel she needs to have time to deal with things, but there really isn't time for her to process everything fully because of everything going on.
Jace - Bad Boy (Shadowhunter) - 7/10 Again Jace is just a dick sometimes! Like I get that he is struggling with Valentine and loving someone he can’t be with. But like he just kind of doesn’t understand other people, especially Alec...who is supposed to be his best friend and his brother. I think he needs to do a lot of soul searching, which it seems like he did towards the end of the book, but I think there needs to be more!
Isabelle (Izzy) - Sexy Goddess (Shadowhunter) - 8/10 Izzy wasn’t really in the book much but when she was I loved it! Her being involved with a Knight of the Seelie Court is perfection for her! I love that she also stands by Jace no matter what! She is always fighting for him!
Alec - Gay Bestie! (Shadowhunter) - 7/10 He warms up more in this book and I LOVE that. His relationship with Magnus is amazing! I love their little secret. I think that him almost coming out to his parents could have been REALLY bad for him. Especially if he wasn’t really ready for it. Him playing the part of the guy who agrees with Imogen really threw me for a while, but I am glad he stood by Jace!
Simon – Vampire Bestie - 7/10 Simon was still Simon. I love him but I hate him. Him almost dying was sad, but I am glad he didn’t die! But he DUMPED Clary. I get it but like at the same time, BROOOOOO! I think his feelings are confused, especially after he became a vamp. I think it caused him to do a lot of thinking when he wasn’t around Clary.

Ghost on Taskmaster !!
Copia is Alex Horne and you cannot convince me otherwise. Awkward rat boy who's subservient to his master? Yeah, rings a bell.
Honestly I don't think any of the papas have the right vibes to be the taskmaster, in my mind it's Omega. Big, strong, kinda mean and takes no shit.
Okay now here's my ghoul-by-ghoul analysis on what kind of contestant they'd be and which past contestant i'd compare them to !!
Aether - Definitely a Jo Brand or Julian Clary. Couldn't give less of a shit, just here for the free food tbh. Will occasionally try but can't be fucked to do anything physical. Everyone loves him for it, too.
Cirrus - Kiell Smith-Bynoe. Ultra competitive, has beef with another contestant (Rain). Effortlessy hilarious in everything she does.
Aurora - Charlotte Ritchie. Dressed appropriately (dungarees). Tries really hard but doesn't always succeed. Very optimistic though :)
Mountain - A mix of Bob Mortimer and Mark Watson. He's a prize task extraordinaire with hundreds of unbelievable (but true) stories. Will also get bullied by the Taskmaster though.
Phantom - Lucy Beaumont and Judi Love vibes. Just doesn't seem to understand what the fuck is going on at any point. A good laugh though and will always fight for points.
Sunny - James Acaster. She's chaos incarnate ("My eyes are circles?"). You think it's a character but as time goes on you begin to question that assumption ajskldfkh.
Rain - Mae Martin. Gay and good at it. No notes.
Cumulus - Al Murray. She's focused but also really cheeky. Always looking for loopholes. Will throw money at the tasks like it's nobody's business.
Dewdrop - Nish Kumar or Katherine Parkinson. People think he's going to be a half decent contestant, but he's actually incredibly shit at everything. Gets annoyed frequently.
Swiss - Ed Gamble. Once again very competitive and will throw a fit if he doesn't win. Can also laugh at himself but secretly dies inside when he does badly on a task. A great podcast host for the after-show interviews.

Thank you for listening, have some homoeroticism :)
