Homelander learning how to drive

"Why are we doing this again?" Ashley hisses, panic in her eyes as she stares out the window.

"-because Ryan wants to learn to drive and he can't exactly learn from his dad if I can't fucking drive, Ashley." Homelander snarks back, grip tightening on the steering wheel hard enough to give an ominous crack. He huffs, a silent snarl threatening to curl his lips as he tries to focus on piloting the vehicle.

Ashley's attention snaps back to Homelander at the sound. She's free to do so now that he's no longer creeping the car in the slowest reverse out of the parking spot she's ever witnessed. It's a miracle he didn't hit anything. Despite the lack of other cars within this level of the parking garage, the tight spaces and pillars throughout worry Ashley.

"Yes but why me?" She whines.

That earns her a sharp look from Homelander, eyes narrowed and a warning tic in his cheek signalling that was the wrong thing to say. He doesn't speak, only glares. He also doesn't watch where he's going as the car creeps forward.

"-because I don't know how to drive!" Ashley rushes on in a panic.

Homelander blinks and promptly slams on the brakes, "What!?"

You know, despite the new live-action ATLA absolutely slaughtering Katara's character, there is one upside, and that is the many video essays explaining why the OG Katara was amazing actually and why all her flaws and "annoying" aspects actually made her a great character.

Like, thank god we're all acknowledging that Katara's angry and even bitchy moments are part of what made her so complex, and we're all appreciating just how amazing and interesting she is.

Sure have!#I forgot how long it takes for Chimera Falin to come into play.#I still really love my 'better drawn' art of her - unfortunately it was several weeks too early for the anime only folks.#Slowly getting the hang of drawing Laios. I don't know why I struggle so much but I am getting...somewhere.#Meta time: God damn I love how the chimera shows off the expertise and gap between Kabru and Laios.#The truth is: they are both *right* and they are both *wrong*.#This creature is a combination of monster and human and they only have the skillset to deal with one of those.#Kabru goes for all the human vitals - but she isn't human.#Laios tries to approach her as a monster and is struck down by the humanity he sees in her.#She is something new that defies what they *both* understand about the world. And that makes her such a perfect antagonist.#The damsel was the dragon all along!#...She is really so cute though. Terrifying! But adorable. I am so excited to see the boom of fanart for her.

Bruce tries to adopt Ellie, who is immediately against it. She keeps throwing him off her trail and he keeps tracking her down. She's honestly concerned, and normally she would handle her problems by herself- but this is Batman.

So when Bruce gets a little too close and Ellie is just so tired... she calls for Danny.

"Mom!"

Cue college student, perpetually tired and overworked Danny "High King Phantom" Fenton appearing from the very shadows Batman normally does himself, seeing the situation and going off at this "clearly older man" chasing his daughter in the middle of the night.

Cue the most elaborate "stop trying to adopt my kid before I adopt yours" series of battles

Say what you will about this episode but having the main character see the most graphic horrific terrifying thing they have ever witnessed in their life and then going right back to doomscrolling while they hold back the tears is such an interesting take on how young privileged people interact with the world.
